Lacazette is exciting but Arsenal must sign more and keep Sanchez and Giroud - Winterburn

Lacazette looks set to complete a move to Arsenal from Lyon tomorrow after undergoing his medical today. The Frenchman will be the clubs record signing, with a fee that could rise to £52million.

Lacazette's impending arrival has seen Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud linked with a move away from the club. But Winterburn says Giroud is an important member of the squad and should stay put at the Emirates for next season.

Ive been waiting for Arsenal to make a major signing and it looks like this is the first one, Winterburn said on Sky Sports News.

It was obvious to all Arsenal supporters and to Arsene Wenger that they needed to improve the squad and one of those areas was the centre-forward position.  Im very pleased he is coming to the club and Im hoping Olivier Giroud stays as well because I still think he is valuable for the team as well.  Transfer fees are going to be smashed all the time, the way football is now a multi-million pound game and these fees are going to rise and rise over the next two or three seasons so that doesnt worry me at all.

Arsenal know that they are bringing in some quality to help them compete for the Premier League title.    This is a small start for Arsenal and Im hoping they are going to back that up with a couple more major signings before we start the new season. Winterburn is hoping Lacazette signing does not mean Alexis Sanchez, who is wanted by Manchester City with his contract up next year, leaves the club and hopes manager Arsene Wenger can persuade him to stay.

Arsenal cannot afford to bring in Lacazette then two weeks later Sanchez leaves, Winterburn added. I am hoping Wenger can persuade him to stay for another season, see what happens with the team then sign a new contract..

A Minute with Mark: What is a blind spot? - Duration: 0:58.

(bright music)

- Hi, I'm Mark Page.

Thanks for this week's question.

Well, for a home inspector who's reviewing

systems or items within a home, blind spots

represents gaps that they're unable to provide

a proper assessment of.

And I'll give you a quick example.

If the foundation has drywall and furniture,

the home inspector is not able to test to see

whether there's cracks or whether there's

a significant foundation issue with the home.

This creates problems because that's reflected

in the report and that report is then reviewed

by the buyer, who has to make a decision

about what is the largest financial commitment

they will make.

What is a WordPress theme? How to wordpress #3 - Duration: 6:44.

In this video we're going to take a look at what a WordPress theme is, and what different

kinds of WordPress themes are available

I'm Tim from RealWebsiteHints.com and it's my focus to help you find the best and easiest

ways to build a websites.

This is video 3 in my series on how to get started building a website with WordPress.

If you missed the other videos in this series be sure to click on the

"i" icon at the top of the screen to start the series from the beginning.

Some of the themes that I'm going to take about in this video I have an affiliate relationship

with.

So if you like this content and you want to support it check out the links below, it will

cost you nothing extra and provides me with a commission that helps me to test and review

products so that I can help you find the best and easiest ways of building websites.

Deciding on which WordPress theme you are going to use for your website is probably the most

important decision that you will make.

It's the theme that really creates your website and webpages in WordPress.

You can write a page using the WordPress software, but the page won't have a look, a design or

even be visible until you have a WordPress theme to create the webpage that your viewers

will see.

The theme that you choose can really be the difference between easily building a website

and getting very frustrated in building your website.

I have 3 different categories that I put WordPress themes into.

There are static themes, theme frameworks and Page Builder themes.

Let's take a look at each of these different types of themes.

Static themes were the first type of themes that were created for WordPress.

Static themes are also the most common type of WordPress themes that you will find.

In fact most WordPress installs come with a few static themes installed by default.

These are the Twenty something themes like the Twenty Seventeen theme or the Twenty sixteen

theme.

I call these type of themes static themes because the page layout and most if not all

of the design of your pages is decided by the creator of the theme.

You may get a few options on the colors or fonts, but the basic layout and design of

your pages are all decided by the theme creator.

If you want to make changes to the look, or layout of the theme you will need to modify

the code of the theme.

One of the benefits to static themes is that if they are very basic it is easy to change

the look of your website by just changing the theme.

This gets more complicated the more advanced the layouts that the theme offer are how ever.

The first themes that I started out with were static themes.

I found them extremely frustrating.

I would find a theme that I liked and then enter my content and create my pages only

to discover that either my content and the types of images I used didn't look good with that theme.

The only way to make these changes was to modify the code of the website.

Since I'm not very good at code I found this to be time consuming and extremely frustrating.

So the next type of themes are theme Frameworks.

These themes are designed to be starting points for creating your own theme or website design.

Frameworks are designed to be modified by adding a child theme to the main framework

theme.

So what's a child theme?

A Child theme is additional code that you add on top of the base theme to modify the

look or layout of the theme design.

Often you will find frameworks themes that come with child themes or that you can purchase

different child themes for that framework separately.

Two of the most popular Frameworks are the Genesis theme and Thesis themes.

These are very high quality products, however to really modify and get the page layouts

look and feel that you want you still need to know how to code.

Now the last type of themes are Page Builder themes.

Page builder themes are designed to allow you to create your own pages and layouts easily

without you having to know how to code.

These are defiantly my favorite type of themes, and I think the best theme for people new to building

websites with to get started.

Most of the latest page builder themes have what are called frontend page builders.

This means that you can see the design you are working on as you are working on it.

The older type of page builders had a wire frame style layout designer.

Which are still great, but it's not quite as intuitive to use as the front end page builders.

Two of my favorite page builder themes are the Divi theme and the Beaver Builder theme.

I have reviews on both of these themes that you can check out.

You can actually add the page builder functionality to just about any theme and there are several

page builder only plugins available for WordPress.

Divi and Beaver builder both offer stand alone plugins for use with other themes.

I don't recommend this however because it just adds additional complications to your

website setup.

I like to keep things simple.

I find that when you keep things simple you tend to have fewer problems.

It's rare, but I have seen cases where a theme and plugin become incompatible

with each other.

And so for that reason I recommend either using a theme with a built in page builder like the

Divi theme or a theme like Beaver builder which offers a theme and page builder plugin

in one package and both the theme and plugin are made by the same company and are designed

to be used together.

Another issue with page builder plugins and separate themes is that unless the theme is

designed to be used with a page builder you probably going to have a difficult time getting

the design to look the way that you want it to. most page builder plugins will be confined

to the content area the theme offers rather then allowing you to fully design the look

of your pages. So those are the basic different types of WordPress themes that are available.

And what I've learned about building WordPress websites over the last few years is that if

you want to have a good experience and you want building your website to be easy it's

really about choosing the right theme.

If you don't know how to code and you want flexibility in the design of your website

you're going to want to use a page builder theme.

It's the best way to easily build your webpages.

I'd recommend for anyone starting out building a WordPress website go with a page builder

theme.

Themes like Divi and Beaver Builder are easy to use and give you the flexibility to design

your site the way that you want it.

So what's next?

Well get started building your website.

You now know the fundamentals of what you need to build a WordPress website it's time

to get started doing it.

Government Ethics Chief Steps Down After Determining His Existence Is Futile - Duration: 2:30.

Government Ethics Chief Steps Down Walter Shaub.

Six months before the end of his five-year term, the government's top ethics watchdog is calling it quits after high profile battles with the Trump administration left him pessimistic about his ability to do any good from within the Office of Government and Ethics.

"There isn't much more I could accomplish at the Office of Government Ethics, given the current situation,"

Shaub told the Times . "O.G.E.'s recent experiences have made it clear that the ethics program needs to be strengthened."

Upon his resignation on July 19, Schaub plans to join the Campaign Legal Center, where he will expand the nonpartisan group's efforts to monitor government ethics from the outside .

"At the Campaign Legal Center, I'll have more freedom to push for reform," he told NPR Thursday . "I'll also be broadening my focus to include ethics issues at all levels of government."

Shaub's departure comes after months of clashes with the Trump administration.

The spats began three weeks after the election when Shuab used the official OGE Twitter account to mock Trump's refusal to divest from his business .

By leaving his sons in charge of his trust, Trump's didn't " meet the standards that … every president in the past four decades has met," Schaub said in January.

The typically low profile position Schaub occupies has been thrust into the headlines this year thanks to the many ethical quagmires created by different members of the Trump administration.

Schaub has been in the news calling for Kellyanne Conway to b e punished for promoting Ivanka Trump's clothing line and for refusing to comply with the White House's request to keep its ethics waivers secret , among other things.

By leaving his post, Schaub may be relieving himself of endless frustration, but he's also giving Trump a gift—the ability to appoint his own head of OGE six months before he otherwise would have been able to.

That comes with a downside though.

The position requires Senate confirmation and it's not hard to imagine the Democratic playbook in a setting where Trump's ethics are the topic of the day.

As the Times notes though , if the White House wants to avoid giving Democrats a platform to rail about the President's unethical behavior, Trump could pick an acting director and leave him in charge indefinitely.

It might not be the ethical thing to do, but when has that stopped Trump?
