So Much For China Working With Us Trump Slams China On N.Korea Trade

by Tyler Durden

As the G-20 meeting in Hamburg between Trump and Xi draws nearer, the US president appears

eager to continue antagonizing his Chinese peer.

On his way to Warsaw this morning, where he will stay briefly ahead of the G20 summit

in Hamburg which begins on Friday, Trump tweeted his displeasure at US trade deals which had

been signed before his tenure: The United States made some of the worst Trade Deals

in world history.

Why should we continue these deals with countries that do not help us?

Initially it was not exactly clear from that tweet alone which trade deals he has in mind,

although Nafta has been at the forefront of many minds inside and outside the White House,

while the precarious trade relationship between the US and China is well-known.

Conveniently, in a subsequent tweet Trump did hint at the source of his displeasure

in a following tweet, in which the President made it clear who he was referring to: "Trade

between China and North Korea grew almost 40% in the first quarter.

So much for China working with us - but we had to give it a try!"

A chart showing N. Korea's reliance on Chinese trade is shown below.

North Korea claimed earlier this week it launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile

(ICBM).

As reported on Sunday, Pyongyang claimed the long-range weapon could "reach anywhere in

the world."

Trump after the test said he hoped China would "put a heavy move" on North Korea and "end

this nonsense once and for all!"

Trump has repeatedly called on China to help curtail the North Korean regime's missile

tests and has threatened unilateral action as the launches have gone unabated.

The president last month tweeted that China has tried to help the U.S. solve increased

tensions with North Korea, but "it has not worked out."

As Citi points out, "this does not bode well for the G20 Summit which begins this Friday

and the bilateral meeting between China and the US on the sidelines.

North Korea is back in focus after the country tested an ICBM missile on Tuesday which US

Secretary of State Tillerson said represented "a new escalation of the threat."

When Silence is Deafening – Revival for Mission - Duration: 29:45.

A tragedy that transcends time and space.

People committed to voice their hope.

Bible Biblical truth spread in a place that hasn't always been open to Christ's message.

Brothers and sisters who give new meaning to music to our ears.

God is so creative He chooses to voice His will in a variety of ways.

When that happens, we are inspired to participate in His mission.

It is impossible to keep quiet about it!

This used to be a town, a town full of people.

In this town families lived, children played, fathers strolled around the

neighborhood, mothers talked as they left the grocery store.

Laughter, traffic, kids singing and people mingling could be heard throughout the town.

Today all that is left is silence.

We're here in a very quiet lovely place.

It's actually the city of Chernobyl, but there's something missing: the people.

In the morning of April 26th, 1986 at 01:23 in the morning a terrible nuclear accident took

place, and because of it 92 villages were evacuated… two cities… it was a tragedy,

it affected thousands of lives, and it still continues to be a tragedy.

The Chernobyl disaster is considered the worst nuclear power plant accident in history.

The battle to contain the damage by the accident ultimately involved 500,000 workers and

cost around 18 billion roubles.

31 People died during the accident.

The long-term effects are still being investigated.

We're standing in a very sobering and sad place, this marker points out where a house

once existed, it was so contaminated with radiation that it had to be dismantled and

buried.

What a sad situation.

The nearby city of Pripyat wasn't evacuated immediately after the disaster.

The townspeople went about their daily lives, not really knowing the danger they were exposed to.

Within a few hours of the explosion, people started to get sick with headaches and a

metallic taste in their mouths.

To make the evacuation faster, residents were told to bring only what was really necessary.

The majority of their personal belongings were left behind.

By 3 pm on the following day, 53 000 were already evacuated.

The next day Government Officials started to evacuate from the 10 km or 6.2 mile zone.

Around ten days later the evacuation area had expanded to 30.5km or 19 miles,

leaving entire cities empty.

This was a beautiful center for employees of the Nuclear Power Plant.

A lovely well-appointed supermarket here with everything possible.

Then that fateful event took place and thousands were evacuated,

never to return, and now time and the vandals have taken their toll.

The absence of sound is unsettling.

There is no pace, no rhythm, no life.

Silence can be deafening.

When you add sound and music to the scene, when you add laughter and praise,

when you add people with hearts committed the scenery changes abruptly.

What is sad becomes happy, what is dark is bathed with light, what is forgotten is suddenly a

priority, what was mute has a voice.

At this location in Chernobyl they erected a memorial, a sculpture of the Angel Gabriel

announcing destruction, but I want to tell you, we have the opportunity of proclaiming 3

Angels' messages of Revelation 14, yes tinged with judgment and destruction,

but full of the rays of hope, hope in the soon coming of Jesus Christ.

When I think about the quietness I experienced in Chernobyl, I am reminded that not long ago,

our brothers and sisters in the Euro-Asia region of the world were silenced by a strict

Communist rule.

Today they emerge triumphant raising their voices to proclaim the glory of God.

Hope Channel Ukraine is one of these active voices.

Hardworking people for Christ who spare no effort in making their voices heard.

Hope Channel Ukraine is using different instruments to reach as much as possible people.

For this reason we are using various interesting of Internet solutions.

Our webpage, there are more than 100- to 130 000 people who are visiting our webpage every

month.

On Youtube, our channel, there are 130- to 170 000 viewers per month.

We have created applications for mobile devices for Android, for IOS and for Smart TV,

It gives us opportunity to reach much more people, especially young people,

people who are using mobile devices.

There are thousands of people who downloaded already our applications and they're

watching our programs and they're watching live stream too.

Over Satellite, we are reaching, just in Ukraine, more than 12 000 000 people.

We have a lot feedback from Belle-Russia.

>From Russia too, they are watching out channel over satellite.

There are a lot of Russians, Ukrainian speaking people in Europe who are watching in

different countries of Europe our channel.

What is most important that because of satellite broadcast, we can broadcast because of our

license in cable TV too.

It gives plus 9 000 000 people who are reached through Hope Channel Ukraine.

Through satellite and cable TV we are reaching over 20 000 000 people and additional to that

internet and mobile devices and smart TV too.

We are working in the society where from one side people are Orthodox from another side they

have Atheistic background.

It's actually salvation that people are very sceptic to the Protestant Churches,

in the same time they have big problems with faith at all.

We are looking how we can reach these people, how can we destroy this barriers between us,

between biblical message and the popular ideas in the society.

For this reason we are creating different social problems, cooking problems,

health problems, children problems and to help us really to find ways to the hearts of

the people.

Hero, we all came out of a soviet era history where there were limited opportunities to

progress God's work and open stands charges now realize the need to use media resources.

This is a powerful weapon that we don't use enough but Hope Channel Ukraine was launched and

we believe that it is a huge positive in the media environment of Ukraine and

beyond Ukraine.

We reach all the staff and those who founded Hope Channel Ukraine will be a powerful channel that

deeply touch the hearts of people so that people will feel the need for change and so that

people feel hope.

It is certainly not an easy task but is a view to this task, it is a war walking zone.

It is wars fighting for and in the end good efforts will be revert by God.

As a member of the Bible Society, I have visited different countries in our

region.

Recently we visited Asurbochan a Muslem Country and the city of Bakhu.

While in the hotel I turned on the TV to watch the news and in the top five TV channels I found

Hope Channel Ukraine.

The next visit was Phakistan an Islamic Country.

If you turn on the TV there you can always find Hope Channel Ukraine among the top ten

popular TV channels.

I am so pleased that in our neighbour's countries one can see this interesting and

profound TV programs from Hope Channel Ukraine.

We deal with a wide range of ministries and Pastors from different ruminations and I can

tell you that a large number of people watch Hope Channel Ukraine.

Your programs do not have a narrow target base and they even interest people who are not of

the Christian phase.

There are many positive comments regarding the quality of your programs.

The thoughtful quality programs of Hope Channel Ukraine helped to form the world view of many

people.

They can reach the minds and hearts of those who are searching for God.

This is a well-known TV channel and I think people can get here bench of various and helpful

information for both youth and adultery.

Even learn how to take care of their health.

Of course here is something more deep, more serious.

I think that this channel show the way to God for men.

Well, Hope Channel Ukraine is producing around 22 to 25 hours of new material every week.

There are a lot of volunteers who are working on Hope Channel Ukraine.

A lot of part time helpers.

A lot of people who are working just without money.

If we are speaking about staff, workers in our media group, Hope media group in Ukraine there are

around 65 persons who are working directly with in direction with TV Production.

Big help we receive as a tolerated from our volunteers.

They are working very sacrificed and they're doing a lot of good work.

First of all this is the big ground for our philosophy is quality.

Quality in following directions.

Quality in the message which we are preaching.

We are working very intensely with our hosts, with our staff to bring the message of hope,

to bring the message of Bible, to bring this message as good as possible,

as professional as possible, as open as possible, as understandable as possible.

It must be really high quality in this discretion.

We are working in this direction; we are sending people to study theology,

to study science, to be really good in this direction.

We believe that we must continue to grow in this aspect of quality.

Russia is also committed to not being silent about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Their voices echo a conviction that has no limits.

It is so inspiring to see how spiritual silence is overcome with Biblical truth.

Conviction… conviction can change the world… we're about to enter RED SQUARE,

a very famous place.

Within that square is a particular location where many people were killed because of

their conviction about Bible Truth.

It's called RED SQUARE today, but in the past, red blood flowed because people were

convicted about Bible truth.

Hope Channel Russia joins the choir of voices that are on fire for the Lord.

According to our license Hope Channel have the right to broadcast on the whole territory

of Russia.

That is 140 000 000 people.

We are pleased that since October 1, last year we began to broadcast Hope TV in Russia.

Today we broadcast only for the digital Television and our potential audience is about

4 000 000 people, yet if want to be available for whole of Russia,

we need to broadcast via satellite and this is a challenge for us.

For the production of television programs today we are developing TV studios in different cities

of Russia.

We have a unified archive of TV programs in Russia, replaced by every TV studios across Euro

Asia Division.

We are encouraged by the fact that we are participating in the great work of Preaching the

Gospel while waiting for the coming of Jesus Christ.

Where missionaries cannot enter there is our Hope Channel Preaching the work of Hope.

Some time ago it was impossible in Russia to open its events broadcaster but God is with us.

Today God makes possible that things were not possible yesterday.

We may only call it a miracle.

We believe that the Lord is coming very soon and we wish to do everything possible in our

part so that more people have found Hope in Jesus Christ.

This Hope will give them peace in their hearts, joy and a meaning of life.

Today is the time to act.

If silence means no sound that can be heard, music is an art that puts sounds together in a

way that uplifts people.

The Euro-Asia Region is blooming with music.

It is a beautiful way to rejoice in the promises of our Lord.

There is power when brothers and sisters decide to come together and be one voice through music.

The message reaches places never reached before.

The languages may be different but the range of emotions and the spirit transcends any

communication barriers.

Music has the power to bridge gaps and unite people.

In this society to where people are so critical to Protestant Churches and to Biblical message

from their perspective, Orthodox and Atheist prospective.

Music is one of the keys which opens the heart of the people.

We're using for greatly music.

We're just about at ground zero where the reactor at Chernobyl exploded on that fateful night,

in 1986.

There is still heavy radiation in the area, that's why we are limited in the amount of time

that we can spend.

We're supposed to wear masks, and only for a limited time can we even remove then.

As I speak to you and pray with you.

This is a very sobering place, a place where that explosion took place,

and the radiation cloud hovered over and spread to different parts of Europe.

On that fateful night when the radiation cloud expanded, people became terrified because of the

resulting explosion and difficulties, but one of these days soon another cloud is

coming, a cloud of glory, a cloud of power.

A cloud that will fill the skies not with dread, but with hope!

The return of Jesus Christ, our Lord, the One who will heal all difficulties and bring back to

life those who died who had love and belief in Him.

What a precious hope we have, not a cloud of destruction, but a cloud of hope.

It is truly inspiring to see how God can use us as his Instruments,

through a variety of voices, willing to speak to a world silenced by pain.

When I think about the stillness I found in Chernobyl, and the vibrant voices I heard

throughout the Euro-Asia Region, I pray you never succumb to silence despite the disasters

you may have encountered in life.

I pray you allow God to use your voice, adorned by His message, to revive the world and fulfil

His mission.

We have to speak up about our hope, we cannot be silent about it.

Mountain Valley Pipeline: Bad for Drinking Water - Duration: 4:33.

Building a pipeline through this region is a gamble, not only because of the potential impact on our water, but others as well.

This whole area is heavily karst, Giles county has more karst than any other county in Virginia.

It could lead to instability because the surface on which the pipe is resting could collapse.

It collapses on its own without any work.

We have places where the sink holes are just almost on top of one another.

And once they get into this, it will be like a landmine.

They're gonna come through here and build 10 by 10 foot trenches.

They're gonna disturb the terrain.

It's gonna almost for sure result in changes in the water flows, which will affect our access to drinking water.

On top of all that, Giles County is a seismic zone.

It's an active seismic zone.

It's the center of the largest earthquake in this part of Virginia, and there are constant small tremors.

So we're not just worried about the big one, which would clearly cause a threat to this.

We're worried about those slopes with the slip soils on them, and then these moderate tremors on top of it.

And like what a stupid place to build a pipeline.

All of the geology here is what they term karst.

What that means is the land is full of caves, and sinkholes, and hidden rivers, and hidden streams,

and they meander around underground, we don't know where they come out

Anything that we do to damage the water supplies here, it could contaminate for miles and miles and miles.

It could actually go all the way to the Atlantic Ocean and to the Gulf of Mexico.

In 1941 my dad witnessed a sinkhole right up here on the ridge about 100 foot from where the pipes would be laid.

And this is like a 350 acre water shed, the water runs off this mountain with nowhere to go.

It sinks into a sinkhole which feeds sinking creek.

And so when they clear cut this, there's gonna be an excessive amount of runoff.

And all that sediment and all is going to be contaminating sinking creek.

And who knows where else in people's wells.

But if this thing were to rupture, the earth shift, we're in a seismic zone, crack its pipe.

Leak this high pressure gas into these caves.

And it has no odor.

It's not like the gas in your house where they add an odor to it.

This has no odor so you don't know that it's leaking.

And if it leaks in a cave and you happen to have static in your sweater, and you might be a mile or two from the pipe.

I mean, you could just blow the whole side of the mountain up.

All the water here is connected in ways that really aren't mapped.

And yet the pipeline, a huge pipeline 42 inches in diameter,

buried in the ground, leaking, it will leak, there's no question.

Perhaps exploding.

Would be seeping water so that water that people are using in their wells miles away, could be contaminated by the pipeline.

So an important thing to remember about the geology here, and the risk factors is that it's not just one thing,

it's several things that are all happening together at the same time and in the same place.

First of all you have steep slopes, slopes of 30, 40, 50, 60, 70%, that means that there's a landslide prone situation.

Then you have poor rocky soils.

That magnifies the problem.

Then you have karst near the bottoms of these areas, and in some areas on top.

Limestone with sinkholes that could collapse.

They're on that mountain.

That's not all.

You're in the middle of the Giles seismic zone, scene of the largest earthquake in Virginia history.

It had an earthquake last year.

So you have steep slopes, karst, landslide prone soils the pipeline company themselves admitted,

and it's in the middle of an earthquake zone.

What could possibly go wrong.

Mountain Valley Pipeline: Bad for the Appalachian Trail - Duration: 4:27.

So the Appalachian Trail is actually part of the National Park System.

It's a haven for people from all over the world, but especially Americans, to come here and be able to find peace.

And people come here to hike it and to see the views.

The views are why they're here.

The pipeline would be visible from the Appalachian Trail off and on for almost 100 miles.

An ugly swath, full of erosion, containing poison under pressure.

And instead of seeing mountains, trees, beautiful vistas, we would see a permanent scar and a permanent danger.

When you think about a motivation to complete a project in 18 months or a couple years

to meet the demand of some big corporations as customers.

Or you think about profitability horizon for the pipeline that might be 30 years or even 50 years.

You know that is not the type of scale we operate on, on the Appalachian Trail.

The Appalachian Trail has been here for almost 100 years now.

And we expect to manage it so that it will be here for hundreds of years.

And so when you talk about value in terms of decades, in my mind it really doesn't add up

to the investment the public has made for almost a century now in the Appalachian Trail.

There are ways to minimize the impact of these projects so that people don't see them every time

they pop out of the woods for 75 miles.

But when you do, when you're looking at this open cut across multiple ridges,

you know, it changes the experience.

It changes how people can reflect and rejuvenate and it changes what they take back to their normal lives.

We don't get out in front of a lot of projects, we rarely take a stance like this.

But we didn't have an option with Mountain Valley Pipeline.

We want to work proactively with these companies so that they have a good project from the beginning.

But when a process like Mountain Valley that used flawed data from the beginning and then has tried

to overwhelm the public in propping up that flawed data with just filing after filing.

It's just a horse of a different color,

it's really a different beast all together from the projects that we've worked on in the past.

We're on the Appalachian Trail on top of Peters Mountain at Sims Gap.

This is the spot that I will say that the MVP will assault the Appalachian Trail.

It's called a cultural attachment.

People that were raised in these mountains feel like these mountains and this land are like a family member.

We don't say we own the land, we're fortunate enough to be caretakers of the land.

I don't know it's like assaulting a family member.

It's a scar that will never ever, ever be gone.

Some people say well it's just a pipeline scar.

Well it's like cutting off your right arm, once it's destroyed it won't ever be the same.

I don't want them to come across my farm, but I definitely don't want them to come across Peters Mountain.

I can leave and never see my farm again and I probably will,

but I can't come back to this county and see it coming across Peters Mountain.

I can't understand how they can let something like this threaten these peaceful, loving people out to destress.

You think about all the veterans that fought for this country that walk the Appalachian Trail.

It's insane, it is absolutely insane to do this.

I hope that Mountain Valley Pipeline will take a real serious approach to presenting an alternative

analysis and an environmental review that the public can get behind, that we can get behind.

That we can say hey this is the best option for all the communities that support the Appalachian Trail

who might be interested in natural gas, whose homes might be run on natural gas.

We want to be able to say that this is a good idea.

That we've worked with a company to minimize impacts to the resources you love.

To where you hike, to where you hunt, where you fish, to the water you drink.

So the public can have a reasonable level of confidence that this is the best alternative

that they're getting, the best trade off that they're getting.

And we just can't do that with this project.

Gift Cards - How They Work & What to Watch Out For - Duration: 7:34.

Hi, I'm Adam Jusko from ProudMoney.com and in this video I'm going to talk a

little bit about gift cards and kind of how you use them and what you should

know about them. Obviously gift cards are something that

most people probably think they already pretty much know in and out,

but there are some things, maybe some misconceptions about them and how

they work and what you can and can't do with them. So I'm going to talk a little

bit about those. Gift cards obviously are sort of the equivalent of a debit

card at either a single retailer... or if you have a gift card that is a Visa

American Express or MasterCard you can use those wherever those type of credit

cards and debit cards are used. Gift cards are essentially... what used to

be called a gift certificate has become a gift card. So now you have all the

money on that card instead of having an actual piece of paper that you bring to

a retailer. So you get a gift card of a certain amount and then

you can buy up to that amount either at the single retailer or have

multiples if you have something like a Visa or an American Express gift card.

Now a lot of people think that the retailers don't want you to use

those gift cards because if you don't use the gift card then it's sort of like

money has been given to them that was never used, and so it's

pure profit. But really that's not true, because the retailers, number one, want

to get you into their stores or to their online sites, and, number two, they know

that in general when people have a gift card they are going to spend beyond the

gift card. If you have a $50 gift card more often than not the person

is going to spend, you know, $60 or more and just make up the difference in

cash. So retailers do want you to get out there and use those gift cards. In

terms of your gift card balance... you know, a lot of times people forget what's on

their gift cards and it's actually sometimes one of the reasons people

don't use their gift cards. They think there's hardly anything on there or

whatever and so they don't check. So you have a couple ways to check: you can

generally go to a retailer's website and look there and you'll find something

that allows you to just put in the number of your gift card, the number

that's on the back of your gift card, and it will tell you what your current

balance is. There are also apps that you can find where you can actually put your

your gift cards into the app and have it on your phone so that you can

look whenever you want to see exactly what is contained on your gift

card. It's another way that makes it a little easier to use your gift cards and

not sort of throw them in a drawer and, you know, not deal with them

because you're not sure what's on them and it seems like a special

effort to go and use that gift card. One thing that

people forget oftentimes is... or people used to think was true... was that

you have to get out there and use that gift card otherwise it's going to expire.

There was a time where gift cards would put expiration dates on them and

they were sometimes fairly short of expiration dates. These days the laws

have changed and you now have at least 5 years to use your gift cards. The

retailers and other companies that provide gift cards have to give you

that much time for a gift card. Now this is not the same as a loyalty card. Say

you have a credit card that you use and every X number of points

it sends you a reward card to use. So you get, you know, $10 or $20. Now those

are different than gift cards because you don't actually spend any money to

get those and nobody else spent money to get those for you. So those are reward

cards and so those can have much much shorter expiration dates. So you do want

to be careful to look at those and understand if the expiration date is

shorter. But for a gift card that somebody actually shelled out some

real money for, you're going to have at least 5 years to use it so you don't

need to worry about that that aspect of it. Now on the

other hand you do want to use your cards sometimes in short order: Number

one, because you're probably going to forget you have the card. But even beyond that,

the reason is because you're never quite sure what's going to happen... especially

these days there's a lot of retailers going under as Amazon takes

over the world. So you want to make sure you use your gift card, because if you're

your store goes belly-up before you get the chance to use that gift card you're

not going to get that money back. Once they go into

bankruptcy the gift cards really become, you know, they go down to a zero balance

as far as the retailers are concerned, and there's really no way for you to get

that money back. So if you give a gift card and there's any chance at all that

you don't think that retailer may be around in awhile, then you may

want to run out there and get it used. So there are two kinds of gift

cards. There's obviously a physical gift card that someone puts in your hand, and

then there are digital gift cards as well that you get via

email or some sort of mobile gift card. Now when you get those gift

cards, one thing you want to make sure that you do is verify with the person

who sends you the gift card that they actually did send that to you. Because

obviously if you get a message either via text or through email that

tells you that you have a gift card to use it sounds great... but if it's not

actually from the person that sent it to you then that means there's

somebody trying to scam you, trying to get some sort of your personal

information or trying to get you to click through to a Website that you

should not... somehow trying to get you to do something that is not going to be

good for you. You're not going to get a gift card and you're probably going to

get a nasty surprise on top of that. Finally, if you have a gift card that you

know you are never going to use, you have a couple options. Number one, you can

obviously re-gift that gift card. Find somebody else that you need to get a

gift for and give them that gift card if you think it is the right thing for them.

And number two there are multiple sites online that will take your gift

card and essentially give you a cut rate on the value of that gift card in

exchange for getting the gift card. So say you have a $50 gift card

from a certain retailer. You can go online and you may might be

able to get a website to give you $35 for it. Obviously that's less than

face value, but you're going to get money that you're actually going to want to

use for something that you want versus being forced to use it at a

retailer or restaurant or whatever that you would not normally go to. So those

are kind of the pros and cons of gift cards and some of the best ways to use

them and things to look out for. I hope you will go to ProudMoney.com

for other financial tips and info and all kinds of other good stuff, too. Thanks

a lot for watching.
