Japan's envoy to S. Korea to push for implementation of landmark 2015 'comfort women' agreement - Duration: 2:17.

The Japanese ambassador to Seoul is returned to South Korea.

This comes not as a sign of thawing relations, but rather it's a move driven by the urgency

to save the controversial 2015 landmark deal on wartime sex slavery issue... a the new

president is likely to be from the liberal side, meaning scrapping the agreement that

enraged many Koreans, including those affected by the tragedy is high on the agenda.

Connie Kim takes a closer look.

The Japanese envoy will shoulder a major task when he comes back to South Korea.

Japanese Ambassador to South Korea Yasumasa Nagmine and consul general Yasuhiro Morimoto

were recalled to Tokyo in protest of a statue honoring the victims of Japan's wartime sexual

slavery set up by a civic group in Korea's southeastern port city of Busan.

Japan's NHK reports that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe directed Nagamine to ask Seoul

to carry out the 2015 landmark agreement on the so-called 'comfort women',… and the

Japanese envoy replied that he will do his best.

Nagamine is also said to have told reporters that he is coordinating to speak directly

to South Korea's acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn to resolve this issue.

While South Korea said it anticipates close communication with Tokyo upon the envoy's

return,.. it clarified its stance on Nagamine's meeting with any South Korean official.

"Regarding Nagamine's meeting with senior officials including those from the Foreign

Ministry, we will decide whether to do it or not once we have an official request from

the Japanese side."

The diplomats' return to South Korea was a rather abrupt one.

Japan apparently decided it needed to gather information on the candidates in the country's

snap presidential elections next month and on the growing North Korea threats.

"With a progressive administration likely to come in, it seems Japan decided it needs

to respond to changes in domestic politics,... with the benefits of sending its envoy back

outweighing the losses."

The prospects for bilateral ties are cloudy, with most experts expecting a deterioration

in relations because most of the leading presidential candidates want to scrap or renegotiate the

2015 deal.

Justice for Daesh victimes - Duration: 2:22.

Many Iraqis and Syrians are being subjected to extreme violence and unimaginable atrocities at the hands of Daesh, including rape, torture and mass killings.

The Iraqi people desperately, desperately need justice, and have been deprived of justice

for many, many years now.

Canada is supporting the activities of the Commission for International Justice And Accountability (CIJA) in Iraq,

to record and investigate these crimes, and to help bring those responsible to justice.

CIJA is a criminal investigative body, not a human rights body in the normal sense.

What we're interested in doing is establishing the individual criminal responsibility of

the perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

High-level officials in particular the Islamic State structures.

Canada has done tremendous service to the cause of criminal justice in Iraq to this point, through CIJA amongst others.

There's two main contributions, the first is financial.

All of the CIJA operations in Iraq at the present time are funded exclusively by Canada.

And secondly, on the diplomatic level, helping us to solve certain sensitive problems,

not so much in Iraq, but elsewhere in the region, Canada has also been very helpful in this way.

Justice is coming for the Islamic State perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Some are already in custody, we anticipate capturing still more, especially higher-level

officials, and are taking concrete steps to ensure they are brought to trial, and brought

to fair trial because that's extremely important.

Ultimately, the victims of Islamic State crimes, and other observers are going to see concrete

justice brought to bear, not least thanks to Government of Canada support.

Learning to Trust and Love again after Divorce: Dating Tips for Boomers - Duration: 8:53.

One of the biggest challenges we face

after divorce is learning to trust again!

Tune in today for a discussion on

restoring your faith in love!

And we're back for one more segment with Sandy

talking about well the whole experience

of digital dating and what we experience

that is different than it was you know

certainly when when we were out on the

dating scene first. Sandy one of the big

issues you know especially after divorce

is rebuilding trust again you know when

you're starting to date somebody new, a

huge issue I know it was for me, talk

about that and you know how do we

restore our you know faith and love?

So it's very common for people not to trust

again and what we do is we bring our

past experiences to the next person so

the first thing to remember is the

person in front of you is not your ex

it's a clean slate, so first it's a

clean slate until you know more about

that person don't make assumptions that

they are going to be just like your ex

was, so if your ex is a cheater it

doesn't mean every one is a cheater or,

that you're going to look for cheating

signs and a lot of people misinterpret

you know that that a person is cheating just

because maybe he looked at a woman in

the restaurant oh my God he must be

cheating no and so we need to get the

facts and not make assumptions, and so

gather information gather what you

really see not what you make up and what

what I like to have clients do is say, is

this really true, so you know a hundred

percent do you know that this is true

and so usually you don't know without a

doubt that something is true because

you've only seen signs that you've

interpreted, and then I have them also

look for contrary evidence, so if you

believe for example, I use the cheating

thing, if you believe all men cheat do

you can you find any contrary evidence

that says that men don't cheat, do you

know any men who don't

cheat, you know same thing with all men

want younger women, do you know any men

who don't want much younger women, of

course you do, you know so it's we see

what we focus on and that's what grows,

you know if you focus on the cheaters

the liars the scammers, I can't tell you

how many women I know who say every

every time they're online dating all

they attract are people who are liars,

so that brings me to another point which is

know the sign of a cheater and a liar and

a person we would never allow back into

your life again, know without a doubt

that if that shows up if your ex was a

narcissist and you see signs of narcissism,

walk away right away it's not

even you're not giving that person

chance or five chances yeah there are

signs that are clear lines in the sand

you have to understand what those are so

that's you know working with a coach

like me or a therapist or reading some

good books really helps with that. Well I've

certainly learned that if you look

whatever you look for you're going to

find, so if it's cheating if it's yeah

yeah you're going to find it so so look

for I agree a hundred percent, look for the

good stuff and you'll find that as well,

that's good good advice, yeah and and

what I also tell clients so we were

searching for men online we search shop

for men online together we share screen

we do a video chat when I do live

sessions my clients and so I'll get on their

match.com profile and I'll say can you

find three good things about this man

and she's like nah he's not my type, well

your type isn't working right,

now so it hasn't worked for you yet so

we got to change your type, so what we

want to do is look for men who have your

must-haves and and see if there's three

of them you know, he has nice eyes

he seems like he has a really solid job

and and he has kids and it looks like he

has a great relationship with them, okay

those are good, those are three things same

thing when you're on a date look for

three good thing you know, he shined his

shoes I don't know whatever you can find

time you know he he he you know

greeted you warmly look for the good

we can't just be going like oh yeah

let me see if I can catch him being bad ...

so that's that's a really good way that

really kind of shift your mindset into a

much more trusting and and positive

mindset you know the main thing is you

want to balance your head and heart in

dating we tend to either date with all

only our head or only our heart and when

you get with only your heart then you

just go in wide open and anybody can

step all over your heart which is not

what you want if you go in just with

your head your heart is guarded and no

one can get in so go in with your

standards know who you are know what you

want know what you will settle for and

what you won't, don't deviate from that at

all you know and and and then forgive

everything else you know that the people

who come up with the long lists and you

know and I don't like the way he chews

with his mouth open I mean you know we

all have habits, I mean you know it's

just we need to be forgiving of things

that are forgiver forgivable and also

know this is one other thing that I

think a lot of women don't realize that

we need to speak up about what's

important to us and sometimes men don't

do things for us because they don't know

that we want them and there was a woman

in my facebook group who recently had a

date first date with a man and she was

sitting at the bar having a drink when

he arrived and he said great are you

ready for dinner, and she said yes and he

went over the maitr d and he didn't

pay for her drink and she was so upset

about this that she wrote about it in

our facebook group and and all the

people in the group were like well was

he a gentleman the rest of the time did

he pay for your meal did he treat you

nicely she said yeah but she was so

upset about that one incident and you

know it's again he probably didn't even

realize it, he probably had no concept

and also she got there first but let her

being obligated to her pay for her drink

you know,

we're grownups here. yeah

the big message being that when you look

at that person in front of you it's not

the person that hurts you you said that

earlier I'm quoting your words, it's not

the person who hurt you and and you also

if somebody does something and it does

hurt you then speak up about it don't

assume that they should know that that

was a bad thing to do because we

we can't read each other's minds, but the

point is I mean we can build trust again

it's tough we need to acknowledge that

we are bringing our own baggage if you

will to the table and you know change

our mindset and you've given us some

great ways to to be able to do that

Sandy thank you! We are you can just go

on forever we're already out of time

again for this segment, is there anything

else that you want to add and about

trust? Trust yourself, I think that we

need to really strengthen ourselves and

you know this is what my TED talk was

about it's when you date with hard on

the outside and soft on the inside when

you don't have your standards and you

don't know who you are and you don't

know what you'll walk away from then

you're you're everybody's option you

know you become the person who can

get stepped on, so really get strong on the

inside but get strong enough so that

you can speak your mind, so you can set

clear boundaries so that you can trust

again because there are amazing people

out there and don't give your heart away

to every person who wants it you know be

selective but also be open, and expect

the best not the worst, that's one

thing I know I had to learn, so ... absolutely!

Great Sandy thank you, I hope to see

you back again soon on another segment

of 2nd Act TV, see you next time, thank you!

A huge day for #rugby and for the North #ChampionsCup #ERChallengeCup http://bit.ly/2nF97ql - Duration: 1:01.

Yeah, it's huge news for rugby in the

north and also for the Falcons as well

and the city, it's a culmination of a

lot of work that's been put in by the

club, by Newcastle United Football Club,

NGI and the City Council and to land

what is one of the events the of the world rugby

calendar is tremendous news. Q. How

important was it to get it not only just

to grow rugby in the area but to carry

over from the excellent time

everybody had with the World Cup in 2015?

I think it's hugely significant that

we've got this on the back of

Rugby World Cup and Super League Magic

Weekend. It just shows an ongoing

commitment from the city to both codes

of Rugby, and it you know further

enhances the reputation of Rugby

Union in the North East and certainly

within the city of Newcastle and just

helps with those long term plans to

grow the sport.

ECU Doctoral Student Earns Patent for Cancer Drug - Duration: 1:35.

I got really lucky coming to East Carolina University to work on this.

I didn't know what I was getting myself into, to be honest with you, and it was just

kind of right place at the right time.

It took me a year to synthesize this drug.

What we found was that the metabolic part that we had synthesized was very effective

at eliminating tumor cells but it really didn't have too many effects on non-tumor cells.

This is really, really important in terms of chemotherapeutic development because this

how you decrease the amount of side effects you have.

Our patent covers non-melanoma skin cancer, melanoma skin cancer and also colorectal cancer.

Non-melanoma skin cancer usually is on the face because that's what gets exposed to

the sun the most and the surgery can leave you somewhat deformed or leave scars and stuff.

We're looking at formulating it for a topical use and we feel like that would probably be

the safest way of administering the drug for its most effective use.

I started going to dermatology and interacting with patients.

When I was able to put a face to cancer, it really motivated me to work harder and get

this thing closer to the market so I can help these people.

We think that this drug can offer an alternative approach as a chemotherapeutic agent and that

it will do this at less cost in terms of side effects for the patients of eastern North

Carolina.

It's just been fantastic.

I can't, words can't describe what East Carolina has done for me as a scientist, as

a professional and as a person.

So, I'm just really happy to have been able to have contributed something to the field

of science.

Here's Another Tough Decision For You - Duration: 1:21.

Yeah, I'd say a couple of times. Right upon diagnosis when, you know,

trying to decide where to have treatment. I actually got three different opinions

and then finally settled on my cancer facility. And then there was a couple of

times throughout the journey where I was given options of what to do. You know,

so first, surgery or chemotherapy first. Yes, the doctors recommended chemo

first, but they always said it was my decision on what to do.

Then, when...and at the second time was when my lumpectomy didn't get clear

margins. So, then it was decision, "Well, do we do another lumpectomy, or do we go

ahead and do a mastectomy?" So, that was another decision. Again,

lots of doctors involved, and giving opinions and recommendations,

but ultimately is my decision. It was a tough decision and, you know,

noticed no option was a good option. So, that I see along that whole continuum

of the journey, that was probably the worst, the worst moment of it all.

Before...even overhearing those words, "You have cancer." It's, "Okay, we thought

you were done, but you're not. Here's another tough decision on what to do."

Korea set for five-way presidential race as parties settle on nominees - Duration: 1:57.

With People's Party's Ahn Cheol-soo chosen as the party's presidential candidate... candidates

running for the May 9th presidential election has been settled.

Campaining begins in about two weeks.

Oh Jung-hee tells us more about the rare five-way race.

35 days ahead of the election,... Korea's five major parties have settled on their presidential

candidates.

The People's Party is going with its former leader Ahn Cheol-soo and the Democratic Party

of Korea with its former leader Moon Jae-in.

The Liberty Korea Party, which was in power under former President Park Geun-hye, has

chosen Gyeongsangnam-do Province Governor Hong Joon-pyo to lead its ticket,... while

the splinter Bareun Party nominated lawmaker Yoo Seong-min.

The minor left-wing Justice Party leader chose Shim Sang-jung back in February.

Normally it's between two or three candidates, but this will be a rare five-way race.

The polls show Moon with a comfortable lead over his rivals -- he's in the 30-percent

range, while Ahn, his closest rival, hasn't broken through 20 percent.

The key for these two will be winning over the Democratic Party primary voters who supported

Chungcheongnam-do Province governor An Hee-jung and Seongnam mayor Lee Jae-myung, the runners

up.

In the last presidential election in 2012, Moon and Ahn merged their campaigns... but

the chances of that happening this time are slim... with Ahn vowing to fight to the end

and opposing any sort of alignment based on political calculations.

For right-leaning voters,... both Hong and Yoo are claiming the mantle of "true conservative."

They say if they can unite the conservatives under one banner, they can easily beat the

other three candidates.

There's a better chance of those two seeking a coalition,... but they haven't been able

to agree on one yet.

Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

Monday Humor Fed Tired Of Waiting For Inflation Plans - politics - Duration: 4:23.

Monday Humor?

Fed "Tired Of Waiting For Inflation" - Plans To Give Every Household $1 Million In Cash

The basic idea is that giving each household, regardless of wealth or income, $1 million

each will spur consumption so mightily that inflation will skyrocket.

The Federal Reserve has been trying to boost the official inflation rate for eight long

years, and apparently patience with current policies is finally wearing thin.

Rumor has it that the Fed is readying a new "nuclear option": distributing $1 million

to each household in the U.S.

The Fed can create any sum of dollars it chooses with a few digital keystrokes.

An unidentified source at the Fed reported, "The handheld calculators at the Fed only

have 12 digits, so there's a bit of confusion about how much money we'll have to create

to give $1 million to all 100 million U.S. households.

The consensus answer is $100 trillion, but they're putting the numbers into the current

econometric models to verify this."

The basic idea is that giving each household, regardless of wealth or income, $1 million

each will spur consumption so mightily that inflation will skyrocket.

"What the Fed has wanted for eight long years is to generate an expectation of inflation,"

our source explained, "so that consumers will spend whatever cash or credit they have now,

knowing that it will buy less in the future."

Once people expect substantial inflation, they realize the best course of action is

to borrow as much money as possible now before interest rates rise--an inevitable consequence

of inflationary expectations.

They also realize it's best to buy whatever you can now before the price rises next month.

"The advocates of this program see asset prices leaping higher," the source said.

"Why would a seller of a house asking $500,000 before ther giveaway maintain an asking price

of $500,000? of course the price will immediately jump to $999,000."

Debt repayment becomes much easier with $1 million in cash.

The source iside the Fed noted, "Imagine how much money the federal government is about

to lose in student loan defaults.

With $1 million in cash to each household, naturally the government will deduct any student

loans, overdue taxes, penalties and so on up front.

The banks will love this and so will the federal, state and local governments."

Skeptics are uncertain that households will feel any motivation to pay off private debt

such as home mortgages.

If interest rates are set to jump higher, it makes sense to hold onto your 4% mortgage

rather than pay it off.

The Fed insider noted that advocates expect a tremendous surge in big-ticket consumer

durables such as RVs, muscle cars and vacation getaways.

"It will be a bonanza for every company selling whatever the middle class aspires to," the

source said.

Skeptics believe the money would be better spent on rebuilding America's crumbling infrastructure,

but the Fed source said that's already been factored in.

"Every level of government can reap a fortune with consumption taxes, user fees, transfer

taxes, sales taxes, you name it.

With a million bucks to blow, how many people are going to complain about higher sales taxes,

transfer taxes, registration fees, higher property taxes and all the other new revenue

streams?

Very few."

When asked about the potential of triggering Venezuela-like hyper-inflation that ends up

destroying the currency and the economy, the source demurred.

"The Fed is very confident it has the tools to manage inflation as well as it managed

the 2008 Global Financial Meltdown: whatever the problem may be, the solution is to create

more liquidity and credit."

So how are you going to spend/invest your $1 million?
