Joseph Campbell said, "Follow your bliss."

He said, "Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you that wouldn't have

open for anyone else, and doors will open where there were previously only walls."

To me that is like a big part of the way that I want to live my life now, is to follow my

bliss.

And if you don't have something that makes you feel blissful I think that you have to

go and take your eyes and look for ways in which you either are passionate about something

or that you can make a difference in somebody else's life.

And I think the times that those things intersect are the times for me that are the best.

So if I'm doing something that's going to go and make a difference for somebody else

but it's also something that I care about a lot myself then I'm most excited for that.

Right now people have been asking me, "What's your next mountain?

What are you going to climb?"

I tell them photography, because I want to learn that.

And it's challenging to figure out how can I use a camera and adapt it to me.

And sometimes I've had some embarrassing moments—I'm at such an amateur level right now, and just

because I've gotten to meet some amazing photographers and videographers and I go and talk to them

about this stuff, and I'm like elementary school student right now with it.

But I know that I have to fail a lot, and maybe the first 10,000 pictures that I take

are going to be basically useless, but the next 10,000 might be decent, and the next

10,000 after that might be pretty good.

So the quicker I can go and take that first 10,000 that are just probably going to suck,

the better I'm going to be, and quicker I'm going to get to the ones that are decent.

I want to just maximize that time of like that early-stage failure, and that's not even

really failure, but it's just like those little learning curves, the learning pain, and then

eventually it will be pretty good.

One of the tougher periods in my life when I felt hopeless was around ten years old,

and I started just having fears and doubts over what my future was going to look like;

just not knowing if I'd ever be able to live on my own, if I'd ever be able to have a girlfriend

someday or a job or like any of those things.

It was just a lot of fear and doubt.

And actually I think a lot of what loosened the grip on that hopelessness was—I can

look at two particular moments and sports helped with that.

It was making my first tackle in football, and it was winning my first wrestling match.

In football the guy who went to go and block me had no idea how to block me, and I had

no idea how he was going to go and do it, so he just stood straight up and I dove under

his legs and tackled the quarterback.

First play I got the sack.

So I told my dad that night, "I think I'm done with youth football I'm going straight

to the NFL now!"

And then in wrestling I lost every single wrestling match for a year and a half, so

I lost 35 matches in a row.

I hated it.

My mom and dad were kind of dragging me out to wrestling practices, dragging me out to

matches, and I wanted to go and give up, I wanted to quit.

And even if you asked my dad if he thought that I would have ever won a match, he had

been a wrestler and he would have told you no.

But he continued to kind of push me to stick with it.

Anyway my dad said, "Everybody loses their first year in wrestling.

Everybody loses every match their first year," he said, "but everybody wins at least one

match their second season because you'll find somebody who it's their first season, so you'll

beat them."

And so I ended up winning my first match off of like a seventh grader - I'll never forget

it, just the experience of it looking at my opponent and I could see he was a firs-year

wrestler, and I thought, "That's my kid that I'm going after."

And so we shook hands and all of a sudden—I think when you have hope you start looking

for all the evidence as to why you're going to succeed.

I think when you lack that hope then you start looking for all the reasons as to why you're

going to fail.

And for this first match I started seeing this kid, I'm like: "He's kind of scrawny,

he's not warming up the right way," and then we shook hands before the match and I

was like, "He's got a weak handshake."

My brain is scanning for all this confirmation bias, but like a positive form of it to go

and see all the evidence as to why I'm going to go and beat him, and then all of a sudden

I took him down, landed on top, and I was like, "Whoa, this is awesome!

… And I have no idea what to do now."

My dad told me to let him up, and I ended up taking him down and let him up, took him

down and let him up and won that first match by like a mercy rule technical.

And that moment in time certainly started to loosen the grip on some of the fear and

doubt that I had about my future, of what life was going to go and look like for me

as quad-amputee in the future, and I would have had no idea that life could have turned

out to be as amazing as it had.

But that's what I think a lot about now: What drives me is to go and reach those ten-year-olds

who are currently lacking hope?

Virtus.pro at The Kiev Major: "There is more esports in my life": an interview with Roman Dvoryankin - Duration: 11:54.

Dear friends, an hour ago our guys have advanced from the group stage.

Now I'm standing with Roman Dvoryankin—our General Manager.

I'm sure you're in a good mood, Roman. Right?

A similar situation occurred in Boston. And, as it turned out, there were not so many reasons for a good mood

then. The guys played well but they could do better.

So we're waiting for the drawing, waiting for the fate's decision and the decision of the fate rulers—Valve.

We'll see.

Not only our Dota but also League of Legends roster demonstrates decent results.

By, the way, they must be in Brazil today, if I'm not mistaken.

What are your hopes and expectations?

The guys have arrived. They had a long night flight through Paris. So yeah,

they arrived recently. They're getting prepared. Their group is quite advanceable.

But the guys have never experienced anything like this. None of them have attended similar tournaments before.

It's Brazil, San Paulo, favelas, and dangerous entertainment—so we'll see

how guys are going to deal with the pressure of the southern hemisphere. Joking apart,

I think we're capable of advancing to the playoff. But everything depends on how guys will perform.

I want to remark that it's one of those rare cases when… If someone doesn't know that:

we have former football players in our LoL roster. When we signed Russian football players,

and they didn't let us down. It's important.

Yes, the football players didn't let us down. In fact, they're going to have a chance on July 10 in Cologne

with such famous masters of cleats and ball as Snax, pashaBiceps, FalleN and his Brazilian

team… Oh, sorry, it's windy!

Yes, yes. On July 10 with the captain Solo and the team captain pashaBiceps, our Ivan Tipukhov

will be able to show if he's a worthy successor of Andriy Shevchenko.

And a worthy member of different weight categories with Snax.

Yes, yes. They are like an elephant and a pug.

So we've eventually switched to Counter-Strike. The next Major will take place in Krakow—

Snax's hometown. What are we to expect?

It's going to be better than now.

Okay!

Which is not that difficult. Joking apart, the guys are going through a complicated but predictable,

planned stage. Their in-game leader has changed.

That's why we are purposefully getting ready for Krakow. We know how preparations should be organized.

I will reveal a small secret: an additional

tactics expert has started working with the guys. He helps kuben and Snax.

We'll see the results.

But it's not NEO's dad, right?

No, no. NEO's dad works for another team.

Alright. Apart from other changes, there are other things happening in the company

partnerwise. You have recently signed contracts with Mr. Cat and,

if I'm not mistaken, with MediaMarkt. Entire Moscow went crazy when biceps arrived. What is happening?

It is a natural process when large advertisers enter esports.

And we have some replacements, which you can notice by our gear.

There are fewer logos of such typical sponsors that

mostly produce computer equipment or provide services. They're getting replaced by the classic club

of large advertisers who see esports as a medium of communication with the audience.

I'm really glad that we signed up a contract with MediaMarkt.

pasha was at the video shoot in Moscow recently. Mr. Cat is

a large Chinese company. They host tournaments, have a website about

esports—similar to our CyberSport.ru. It's a chance for them to enter the international arena

and make a name. Thousands of people have asked me what Mr. Cat is and

if it is that café in Kiev near Palace "Ukraine" that esports athletes

used to visit a lot to have some tea.

Okay. Let's hope it's going to be a productive

and successful partnership.

We'd like it to happen! We love our partners and do our best to make them feel

as good as we do.

Mr. Cat!

Mr. Cat!

Roman, VP has been an active participant of the WESA recently.

What do we need it for?

Money. Jokes apart, besides money (last time I checked, prize earnings were a thing). In fact,

it is an important mean of making changes in esports, which

seem unusual to me in a good way. We have a special

work group along with the player group. We make a lot of suggestions related to the better doping control,

controls on players using additional devices.

For example, special devices that increase the click speed

of a keyboard or let players do something else.

It's systematic work. I'm sure that thanks to

WESA we'll be able to develop and make esports more transparent.

Roman, I will return to the topic of football. SK Gaming Managing Director wants to participate in the

SK Gaming–Virtus.pro match.

Did you want to take part in this whole thing, too?

I genuinely hope that Alex Müller will play against the Brazilians

and help us although he's a part of their team. Honestly, I spent most of my childhood swimming,

so I'm not really good at football. But it's amazing that Alex is in such a good shape.

He's the main teaser of their team.

So we'll see what he's capable of. By the way, there is a fly on you.

As for esports not football players… If you

had an opportunity to join one of the Virtus.pro rosters as a player, which one would you choose?

You know, when I just joined the organization, and the wife of the Counter-Strike roster manager, Jakub,

gave birth to his daughter, I really enjoyed fussing around the Poles in New York.

It was really fun. They have a specific way to troll.

Sometimes pasha turned to me and said: "Get me a cold Redbull fast!"

And you get him a cold Redbull and return. In fact, it was really fun and pleasing,

so I'd work with them like that again.

I understand you. I fuss around Solo though. So, I started talking about the group stage,

our great results. Please, tell us what the practice was like.

What did the organization do to achieve such results?

How important was it?

It was really important. It was important not to disturb guys, to let them

gather themselves together. After the qualifiers for the Major, they went home and had a break from each other.

At the start of April they reunited refreshed, played on their own first,

and then Ivan Antonov joined them to polish up some things.

The guys have a clear insight of what to play and when.

I'm not going to hide—I think Ilya has already mentioned it—that the group stage

games were like… They just came to play and win but not to demonstrate anything.

So we're going to see some strategies in the playoff.

By the way, if someone asked why we didn't film the boot camp—we didn't want to distract them.

Yes, despite some players willing…

"Let's show the swimming pool to Masha. We want to go the whirlpool."

Yes, of course. Lil called me.

But no. Nothing should distract the guys. After Kiev they can have some fun.

With RAMZES.

Yes, he's already 18.

Yes, he can do that now. Roman I have a question about two similar games.

I don't get why the LoL community and players are really different to the Dota ones.

Of course, we could mention toxicity and other things.

But what do you think why it happens? Is there anything you can do about it?

Can you balance it out in some way?

Since we're at a Major on Dota, I'll reply in the way that the Dota community does.

Dota is a more difficult game.

Doubtlessly.

Moreover, Dota players think that LoL is a casual game.

So there is an excuse for Dota players: the game is more difficult, and they simply

have no time for this media stuff. On the other hand, we can see the examples of Ilya,

Roman—Resolut1on, and many other players who have enough time for it.

I think it depends on the game developer. Riot Games have done massive work to

help the players develop their media skills.

Well done, Riot Games!

Yes. Riot Games put a lot of effort into teaching players, showing them how to do it.

Sooner or later the industry will adopt this idea.

If the game developer doesn't do it, then ELEAGUE and Epicenter will.

. There is more and more demand for it. Players can't resist it anymore.

I think the situation is going to change.

Yeah! And my dream will come true. Roman what has changed in your life since

you entered esports? What new things have appeared?

There is more esports in my life. I have less spare time,

and there are much more stamps in my passport now.

I think

there is another thing. Now you can share a common language with schoolers.

Yes, it happens at the food court sometimes. I stood in a line to Kroshka Kartoshka recently.

Sorry, for product placement. And some guys approached me and asked: "Are you from VP? Do you know pashaBiceps?" —

"Yes, let's go to MediaMarkt. He's there, nearby." — "Really?" We headed there and the guy saw him

and became really happy.

He probably called you "my friend".

Yes, yes. Such moments make you happy. What has changed in your life apart from a bearded man

in half a year?

Is there more music by Serebro or…

There are… Let me count… Five, five—fifteen new

wonderful men have appeared in my life. Not including you, kuben, and others.

And night walks in Atlanta.

Yes, night walks and trips in Atlanta with pashaBiceps.

So I have more bros in my life now. And passport stamps! There will be more passport stamps.

In another passport though.

Yes, really soon I'll have one in another passport. So my life has changed for the better.

I've learned to block people on social media, but everything else is fine. I hope our current trip

trip will take our love to the organization and our Dota roster to the next level.

We're waiting for results of the upcoming games. Waiting and getting ready for the playoff.

And we recommend you to do the same, guys! Support our team! Go, go, VP!

HOW TO CREATE AND STICK TO A BUDGET | Financially Fabulous with Limor & Jessica Moorhouse - Duration: 6:49.

welcome to another financially fabulous

episode I'm Limor and I gotta tell you you

do not need to be a financial planner to

be crushing it with your finances I'm

not in today's episode I've got my good

friend Jessica Moorhouse here and we're

gonna be talking about the best tips for

budgeting come on this will be fabulous

I've got my good friend here Jessica

Moorhouse from JessicaMoorhouse.com

budgeter podcaster youtuber and I'm

super excited to have you here we're

talking about some budgeting awesome

awesome so you're doing lots in the

space tell everybody just a little bit

about you sure so a quick little bio

about me so I am the host of the Mo' Money Podcast

a personal finance podcast and

I also blog about personal finance at

JessicaMoorhouse.com got my own YouTube

channel make sure to check it out well

Link it up below yes and I love talking

about money and specifically budgeting

it is one of my favorite topics that I'm

very excited to be here for this episode

yeah it's awesome that you're here

because as everybody knows I like to

talk about how to make more money and

while it's super important you gotta do

a good job of managing the money that

you actually have so super cool to have

Jessica here on the show today

absolutely so tell me a little bit

about your experience with budgeting and

how you came to like love the numbers

and how it works so much sure so I kind

of discovered budgeting budgets all that

kind of stuff when I first moved out of

my parents I was back in I think

2009-2010 and I had no idea what to do

with the money that i was earning and

the money i was earning it was going

away in a POOF and i had no idea what to

do so i started researching as you do

looking on YouTube and blogs and reading

books about personal finance and I kind

of realized the everyone kept on talking

about how important budgeting was it

sounds really boring to me but I'm like

okay I'm give it a whirl so I you know

opened up my excel spreadsheet I'm

started making my first budget and that

budget has evolved over time to what I

now call my crazy simple budget

spreadsheet they like to share with

everybody it is super simple obviously

and it's just a really great

roadmap to kind of put all of your money

data in there to give you an idea where

you can go with your money so one of the

things that I hear a lot is like

budgeting is like a icky or an ugly word

or like it's gonna take so long or so so

much time how much time do you spend

budgeting or keeping track your budget

every month well once you you know have

a budget once you kind of put all of

your stuff in there to go you really

only have to change when something

changes in your life your, you know

salary changes get a promotion you move

something drastic changes that's when

you have to update your budget otherwise

you pretty much stick to the same thing

same kind of thing month by month and

you've got kind of going on that way

exactly i say the the thing that may

take a little bit more time is tracking

your spending that's kind of another tab

of the budget spreadsheet that I like to

use so once a month have a little money

meeting with your partner or if it's just yourself

just hang out with yourself for now

I like to hang out with with myself have a glass

of wine. There you go now you

are married right I am do you do a

budget together with your husband or

gonna have your own how does that work

so yeah so when we we've been together

for 10 years and so at first it was

very separate and is he in all the spreadsheet he's done

he's not in all the spreadsheets

really he only came into the spreadsheet

situation once we got married okay and

he got in there um but even when we were

living together we kept everything

separate yeah sense financially and once

we married you know we moved here and he

kind of made the conscious decision okay

we still don't like pool all of our

money together that this doesn't work

for us we kind of do a separate but

together situation cool we'll talk about

now like that after because uh yeah I

like to talk about that but so give us

like your top three budgeting tips sure

okay so i would say number one if you

don't have one get started right away

the big reason why people you know get

into debt or run out of money and are

stressed about money because they don't

have a budget and for everyone who's

wondering what exactly is a budget it's

just a spending plan it is a plan a

guide to show you how to spend your

money and how to save it so that is the

number one too if everyone have one have

one okay haha number two is i would say

if you are in that

a couple relationship talk about it if

you know especially like if you were

like me and my husband we were living

together we did have lots of joint

expenses talk to them to see if they

want to kind of join up with you in the

budget or have separate ones but

basically open that communication so

they know that you're on the same page

and then I'm always super important when

budgeting with someone else and you have

expenses together alright so the third tip I have which is very important is

really monitoring your cash flow it's

great to have a budget but if you're not

using it and you're always going over and

certain things you really need to look

at okay what's the real reason I'm going

over which is a big reason why you need

to track for spending it will probably be

very evident that you're like okay

you're spending too much on eating out

you're spending too much on

entertainment you need to cut that cable

so you really want to make sure that

your budget aligns with your needs and

your want it has to be realistic for it

to work but you also have to kind of

look at your spending to see how to make

your spending work with your budget

awesome those are really great tips so

that brings us to our tweetable today

think of your budget as a way to

actually get what you want what I love

about what jessica is saying is that

it's it's about really figuring out what

it is that you want to spend your money

on in your life and then a budget will

allow you to allocate your money to

there rather than just spending all over

the place and then not having any money

to do the things that you really want to

do right so our challenge for you guys

today is to download Jessica's my simple

crazy budget which we've got linked up

below and won't we'd love for you guys

to test out is creating a budget so do

it for one month put in all the

information track it for that one month

and just see how you go so hopefully you

learn something this video and if you

did give me a favor and subscribe to my

channel I've also got Jessica's channel

linked up below so make sure you go on

over and hit subscribe on her channel

she's got lots of great videos she's

got an awesome podcast and a couple

other things so we'll link those up for

you below and if you're looking for even

more tips and tricks and inspiration come on

over to www.Limor.Money I've got lots

of great resources for you to download

remember I'm not here to change who you

are and neither is Jessica we just got

strategies to make you even more

financially fabulous!

thank you so much for watching and we'll

catch you next time till then stay

Genetic Testing and Pregnancy - Duration: 4:47.

(music.)

Down syndrome affects one in every seven

hundred babies born each year in the

United States and now thanks to advanced

breakthroughs there's a non-invasive

screening option called NIPT, here to

talk about this fairly new approach to

prenatal testing from Alumina is genetic

counselor Patty Winters.

Thank you for

being here Patty.

Thank you.

Okay, so before we even get into what NIPT is.

Tell us a little bit about the difference

between a screening test and a

diagnostic test.

A screening test is a test that

can tell us if there's a higher or a

lower chance for certain medical conditions

in a pregnancy, whereas the

diagnostic tests usually a CVS or amniocentesis

during pregnancy actually samples from

the pregnancy and can tell us yes or

no with as much certainty as possible

whether those conditions are present.

NIPT is a type of screening test where we

actually draw blood from a woman's arm

and in her blood there is some cell free

DNA from both herself and from the

pregnancy and by analyzing that cell free DNA

we're able to determine if there's a

higher or lower chance for certain

conditions in the pregnancy.

So some women will choose

to have a screening test to get that

information before deciding whether to

have a diagnostic test because the

diagnostic test carries a risk of

complications including pregnancy loss.

So what does NIPT screen for?

It screens

for changes in the number of certain

chromosomes so most commonly we talk

about Down syndrome which is trisomy 21

which is an extra copy of chromosome 21

but NIPT also screams for trisomy 18

which is also called Edwards syndrome

and trisomy 13 which is also called

Pito Syndrome and it also looks at the

sex chromosomes to see if there's any

missing or extra sex chromosomes.

So Patty, I shared with you before, my husband and I

are trying to have a baby.

And at this point in my life, I'm

considered at advanced maternal age.

So is this test specifically for women

of advanced maternal age or are

there other candidates?

So we know that these conditions can

occur in any pregnancy.

So there's a change for these

with every pregnancy that any woman has but as you mentioned,

there are pregnacy's that have a higher chance for these

conditions.

based on things like, how old a mom is

or her pregnacy history or her family history but

because these conditions can occur in any pregnancy,

The American College of Obstetricians and

Gynecologists actually recommends that

all women during pregnancy be offered

screening and diagnostic testing options

for these chromosome conditions.

So Patty what are some of the advantages

of NIPT and in terms of the technology

how accurate is it?

NIPT is actually an

improvement on some of the older serum

screening options so historically serum

screening options had a false positive

rate which means the woman gets her

blood drawn and gets a positive result

but the pregnancy is actually not

affected and that happened in about 1 in

20 women with NIPT the false positive

rate for Down syndrome is closer to 1 in

1,000 so we're greatly reducing the

number of women who are receiving these

false positive results which means that

fewer women are being offered diagnostic

testing and are avoiding the complications associated with

those procedures such as potential

miscarriage.

So for women who are thinking about

having an NIPT is there anything else you

need to know before we do this?

I think it's important for women to

understand that these tests are optional so

that it's volunteer it's your

decision if you want to have any of these

screening or diagnostic tests during

pregnancy, secondly it's important to

remember that we're only screening for certain

conditions so we're not looking for all

genetic conditions and we're not looking for all

birth defects which means that a

negative result is very reassuring but

it won't tell us for sure that the

pregnancy is developing healthy, and then

finally it's important to remember that

there's different laboratories that

offer NIPT and that these might differ

so you need to find out what is your

specific test going to tell you how does

that specific test perform and what is

the chance that you won't get a result

or that you'll have a failed test

through that laboratory so it's really

important to have a conversation with

your doctor make sure that you choose

the test that's going to give you fast

and reliable results most often.

Yes a little peace of mind what a

future parent doesn't want a little bit

of that.

Thank you so much for being here Patty.

Thank you.

And if you want more information about non-invasive

prenatal testing you can go to Alumina

dot com, ask your doctor, or of course you

can always visit our website

Without Vision You Will Add Too Much - Duration: 1:12.

When I ask people what do you want,

most people go, "Well I want some more money.

I want money.

And I wanna have a good relationship."

But, if you don't know what you want,

you won't know what you're going after.

So, a lot of my work is let's create a vision.

So, let's say we're working in their closet.

We're working through a space.

I'll say, "What do you want for the vision of this room?

What do you want it to look like?

What do you want it to feel like?

Get out of your head.

What do you want it to feel like?

What do you want for this space?"

And then, the person will get a vision.

If not, we'll go online.

We'll find some things.

We're dealing with the physical stuff.

And, through the vision, we can create that.

But, if you don't know what you want,

everything stays in your life.

And then we just keep adding and adding

and maybe that fits with what I want.

Maybe that's gonna make me feel good.

Maybe that's exactly what's gonna make me feel

like the person I know I can be.

When, in fact, if you don't get

clear about what you want,

you're gonna just keep accumulating stuff.

Audit Your Life to Create Your Living Fully Vision - Duration: 1:13.

(upbeat piano)

So, a vision has to be related to what you want

and what you need and if you're not even sure,

do an audit of your life of what you don't want.

Start auditing your life about what you don't want,

what doesn't make you happy, what doesn't make you

feel joy, what's keeping you stuck,

what's giving you all those things that tolerations

bring you.

And then you can start making a list

of all the things that you don't want on one side

of the page.

On the other side of the page is, "This is what I want.

"This is my living fully, want vision.

"And this is my basic need too."

Some of those things are just gonna be what do I need?

Israeli Clowns Cheer Up Syrian Refugees | Have You Met? - Duration: 2:52.

This episode, we've got Israeli Arabs.

We've got Israeli Jews.

We've got Syrian refugees.

And we've got clowns.

Let's go.

(upbeat music)

This is Shoshi, she's been a performer

for over 30 years.

She was part of Israel's first guerrilla

street theater group.

She ended up traveling the world, doing clowning.

Before coming back to Israel to get

a BA and eventually a Masters in Medical Clowning.

Which is what she does here, at Ziv Medical Center

in Northern Israel.

- Medical Clowning is, I call it clowning

at the service of medicine.

The sickness, we have the doctors.

They chose to deal with it.

I choose to deal with the person.

It is seeing the potential of what

is positive, what is funny.

And work with that, make that much bigger,

then the painful side.

And tell me one, two, three, four, okay!

Yes!

She said three.

She said three.

- Are there health benefits to that?

- Of course, I almost never get sick, never.

- [Narrator] Studies show that medical clowns

help reduce anxiety for both the child patient

and their family.

They actually decrease pain and alleviate depression.

And sometimes they make it unnecessary

to use sedation at all.

Which is especially important for children.

And Shoshi isn't the only clown around here.

- [Narrator] Johnny is a Christian Israeli Arab,

who works not only with Israeli children,

but also with Syrian refugees injured in the civil war

who've fled to Israel, an enemy state,

where they're given FREE and often life saving treatment.

(laughs)

- [Narrator] Many of these patients have been raised

to hate Israelis.

Most having never met a Jew or a Christian before.

But Johnny helps them overcome their

fears and prejudices.

- [Narrator] Johnny says that not only does this change

the patient's minds.

But they then return to their communities

and help teach others, as well.

And ultimately, that's true not just for Syrians

but everyone here.

- Joy is universal, laughter is universal.

Love is universal.

- I feel like, what these clowns show us

is that if you can turn a hospital

into a place of laughter and joy,

maybe there's hope for the rest of

the Middle East, also.

Become A Lucid Dreaming Master Using These 4 Sacred Herbs

By consciousreminder

How many times do you remember what you were dreaming last night, yesterday or even a week

ago?

For more than a thousand years, we humans have been intrigued by dreams and related

phenomena, these sleepy reveries, help us derive deep inner wisdom and understanding,

not only of ourselves but of our world.

Dreaming is a birthright, our birthright, this extra sense allows us to access the rational/irrational,

spiritual and the bizarre, all while we sleep at night.

One of sciences largest mysteries, in which no concluded theory can be agreed upon, whether

it be the origin or specific purpose, to this day dreams cannot fully be understood under

the radar of modern science.

As we all know our dreams occur nightly, though others may never experience the joys of inner

dream discovery.

Some even say they have never had a dream before!

Certainly many who arent able to dream wish they did.

Even a glimpse of what that reality may show them.

Ever since I was a young child, I had a knack as an avid dreamer having dreams 3-5 times

a week for years and years, even today.

I had always known there were places I could go in my dreams that were deeper, deeper realms

of awareness, realms of consciousness only I can explore.

Thats what makes dreaming so amazing.

Its unique to each person!

Many people that actively engage in dreaming desire to achieve the lucid dream experience

or at the very least remember their dreams more often and in clear detail.

Many dreamers I know are able to navigate their dreamworld with impeccable awareness

that they are dreaming.

You can even ask dream characters helpful questions about your life and actively seek

out information in the dreamscape, this can be profound, life changing!

My friends and I are capable of flying at will, gaining insightful information along

the way.

Do you want to dream more at night?

Experience lucid dreaming but cant seem to get anywhere no matter how hard you try?

Well here are 4 Sacred Herbs that have been used throughout history to help you master

lucid dreaming!

These plants also have other wonderful medicinal uses, but for this article we are honing in

mostly on the dream-enhancing qualities of these herbs.

Herb #1

Wild Asparagus Root ~ Asparagus cochinchinensis

In TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine wild asparagus root is called Tian Men Dong Which translates

into Lush Winter Aerial Plant and its sometimes called Heavenly Spirit Root.

For thousands of years this special root has been revered by qi-gong masters, shamans,

and Tibetan monks for its life increasing, dream inducing, heart opening effects.

Often called The Flying Herb, it is said the root helps one to fly through the

cosmos at night, achieving marvelous dreams.

This is also a metaphor for how prolonged use of the herb brings ones body a lightness

and buoyancy.

Ancient Chinese teachings emphasized the value of deep dream work and especially lucid dreaming.

According to traditional Chinese folk medicine prolonged use of this special root has a particularly

positive effect on opening the heart, making one more jovial and empathetic.

It is also said that the root helps dissolve or remove the contradictions that come with

being human, the mundane states are often casted away and harmony is attained.

The good, bad, yin, yang, inside and out.

Suggested Use- This herb is best made into a tea from the freshly dried root.

Take 1-2 inches of root and simmer it in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes.

Add cream and honey for taste!

Alternatively the freshly dried root has a gummy consistency and can be eaten raw.

*Herb #2 *

Mugwort~ Artemisia vulgaris

A quite common herb found throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Mugwort has a deep history whether it be medicinal, shamanic or folkloric.

For hundred of years especially in the middle ages this herb was held in high esteem to

protect and ward off evil.

In Celtic and Norse mythology this plant was considered a magical boon from the gods that

could be hung above doorways, burnt as an incense to prevent illness or worn on the

body to protect from evil spirits.

Even to this day this sacred plant is used in modern Pagan, Celtic and Wiccan ceremonies.

The Chumash Indians of California and the surrounding areas called mugwort Molush

which literally translates to Dream Plant.

It was traditionally smoked in intricate ceremonies and hailed as a powerful ward to fend off

evil, bad spirits and disease.

This herb has a reputation of being the most well known herb for dreaming.

Many people that use this herb report increased lucidity and prolonged dreams(That seem to

last for hours).

Mugwort can sometimes bring up darker or lets say uncomfortable dreams.

This aspect of mugwort is very useful as it can help people get through recurring nightmares,

fears and gain confidence to face the unknown.

As these darker dreams come up, mugwort shows us how we can face them head on and eventually

bring us to a peaceful dream-scape where we reign supreme, regaining a foothold in our

own special bedtime world!

Suggested Use: Mugwort can be used is several ways.

The most common would be a nice steaming cup of tea!

Steep 1/2 tsp of herb in 2 cups of hot water for 5-7 minutes.

Add cream and honey to taste!

Mugwort tea is actually quite flavorful!

You can also powder the herb and put it in capsules or take it as a tincture(liquid alcohol

extract).

*Herb #3 *

Xhosa Dream Root~ Silene capensis

This sacred herb has been used in African folk medicine for centuries for shamanic initiation,

dream divination, to promote cognition and memory.

The plant is highly regarded as a sacred teacher plant and has been traditionally used with

respect, intention and devotion.

The root of the plant is specially prepared to induce very vivid prophetic lucid dreams.

This root is utilized as a catalyst during the initiation ceremonies of shamans, people

finding their lifes purpose and for those that wish to be healers.

The Xhosa people actually have a healing modality system they call Ubulawu which roughly translates

to white ways/paths.

Many herbs are used in these Ubulawu shamanic practices to enhance the dream state, improve

dream memory, in turn this helps create a link to your ancestors.

Many people report that xhosa root greatly improves their ability to remember their dreams.

Imagine an herb that not only promotes vivid dreams but also increases cognition and memory.

Well xhosa dream root may be just that.

Caution: If you already experience intense dream states, you may want to consider not

using xhosa root since it can intensify your nocturnal adventures quite a bit it can

be a wonderful experience for avid dreamer but not so much for people who are prone to

having nightmares.

Suggested use: Xhosa root can prepared by powdering the root and brewing a tea either

hot or cold.

For hot tea put 1/4-1/2 tsp of root powder in 2 cups of water for 5-7 minutes.

For cold brew tea put 1/4-1/2 tsp in 2 cups of water and let sit for 24 hours before drinking.

You can also use it in tincture form (Liquid alcohol extract) or put the powdered root

in capsules.

*Herb #4 *

Blue Lotus~ Nymphaea caerulea

A flower revered by many cultures across the globe as a sacred and holy symbol.

Not only does this special flower hold high regards as its beauty and meaning but its

medicinal properties as well.

The Hindus consider the lotus blossom to hold the highest sacred energy and is deeply ingrained

in their spiritual mythology.

This highly valued herb symbolizes non-attachment to our physical and mental worlds.

Out of the darkest places in our souls, the mud, the lotus arises from, bestowing its

magical blossoms for all to see, awakening us to the potential of our highest selves.

Its the metaphor of our re-union back into oneness.

It has a relaxing hypnotic effect on ones consciousness.

Great for increasing third eye activity.

*Things like meditation, visionary experiences, mystical awakenings, yogic practices, creativity

and even lucid dreaming can be cultivated using this special flower.

*

Suggested Use: Steep 1-2 tsp of dried blossoms in 2 cups of hot water.

Add honey and milk to taste!

Quite a lovely experience!

Alternatively you can take a tincture of the herb if available.

Tinctures are easy to use and can be brought wherever you go.

Remember not all herbs are for everyone, so please do your research and be safe.

I suggest trying out one of these herbs at a time.

If you dont see results, dont knock it, dream herbs can be used as tonics for

5-7 days at a time, so be sure to experiment with which ones work best for you.

I wish you all the most vivid and exciting, information-packed, healing dream journeys

that you could possibly have!
