Movie Bloopers That Were Too Good To Delete - Duration: 4:15.

Every year, the Academy Awards give out two Oscars for screenwriting.

But so far, they haven't awarded any Oscars for bloopers and ad-libs.

Which is too bad, because some of Hollywood's best moments are completely unscripted.

Here's a look at some epic movie bloopers that were kept in the movie.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

One of Rogue One's most enjoyable new additions to the Star Wars canon is the sometimes funny,

sometimes nasty droid K-2SO.

He's been described as "the anti-C3PO," according to actor Alan Tudyk, who provided both the

motion capture and voice performance for the character.

And during one particular scene with Diego Luna, who plays Cassian, Tudyk got… a little

too into character.

while trying talk their way out of a jam, Tudyk gave Luna the back of his robot hand.

"Quiet!"

The moment brought laughter to the audience and the actor.

Luna was so surprised, he had to cover his face to keep from ruining the take by laughing.

Fast & Furious 6

In the Fast & Furious movies, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges and Tyrese Gibson often serve up what

Ludacris calls "comic relief."

Case in point: In Fast & Furious 6, as Dwayne Johnson enters, everybody went totally off

script, ad-libbing a scene that ended with a very real spit-take.

"Hey Mia, you better hide your baby oil.

I'm just playin'."

"You better hide your big-ass forehead."

"Man I was just jokin'."

Seems like these guys really enjoy each other's company.

Zoolander

"So why male models?"

Idiot male model Derek Zoolander asks this question and receives nearly a minute of exposition

from former hand model J.P. Prewitt.

He explains the longstanding conspiracy about how figures in the fashion world have orchestrated

several assassinations, using brainwashed male models to do the dirty work.

And when he's done, Zoolander… asks the exact same question again.

That's because Ben Stiller couldn't remember his line, so he just repeated himself.

Luckily, David Duchovny improvised the perfect response, and it stayed in the film.

"But why male models?"

"Are you serious?

I just…

I just told you that a moment ago."

"Right."

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

As the great wizard Gandalf, Ian McKellen's comic timing in the scene when he visits an

aged Bilbo Baggins in his tiny hobbit house is great.

It's so good, in fact, that he actually fooled director Peter Jackson into thinking it was

a blooper when he smacked his head on a wooden beam after crashing into a chandelier.

In truth, McKellen did it on purpose, but didn't tell Jackson, who was so happy with

what the apparent "accident" that he left it in the film.

The Martian

Donald Glover had a small but pivotal role in The Martian as the scientist who comes

up with the plan to save Matt Damon's stranded astronaut character.

The role involved faking a lot of math, but it also involved totally not faking falling

flat on his face.

Glover explained to Conan O'Brien that the pratfall was completely unscripted — and

director Ridley Scott loved it.

"I was like, zoop! Bam!

And everybody was like 'ooh' and I just get up and just like, 'I'm fine', and I keep going

and in the scene, and then after the scene's done he comes up and he's like, 'That was

great!'"

The Birdcage

Glover's faceplant was funny, but when it comes to accidentally falling down, nobody

tops the legendary Robin Williams, as proven in The Birdcage.

He manages to stay completely in character and ad lib several lines even while taking

a nasty tumble. Just remember, kids: don't drink and cook…

"You don't give me no time to chub."

Shut up!

It's OK.

It's fine.

Just shut up!"

Clueless

In a high school debate exercise on whether the U.S. should take in refugees, ditzy Cher

Horowitz mentions the plight of displaced Haitians.

Just one problem: actress Alicia Silverstone had no idea how to pronounce the word Haitians,

so we ended up with this instant classic bit of film history instead.

And so, if the government could just get to the kitchen, rearrange some things, we could

certainly party with the Hate-ee-ans."

Drobo NAS and DAS systems for music - Duration: 9:40.

It must have been 10 years ago I bought my first Drobo 4, a RAID-like device that could

hold up to four hard disks.

Last week I bought my fourth Drobo, a 5Dt.

All four are still operational and I never ever lost a single bit.

Well, actually that is not completely true.

I did loose some files but that was because I made two mistakes: I didn't have a backup

and I did erase files that should not have been erased.

Both actions Drobo can't be blamed for.

Let me also make clear that I am not sponsored in any way by Drobo.

I bought all four Drobo's at the same price you would have payed for it.

I like to stress this since I am so enthusiastic about the Drobo products that it might look

like a sponsored plug. It isn't.

Drobo developed a special version of RAID technology.

RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disks and is a system that combines a number

of hard disks to one volume.

There are several ways to do this, for instance making a volume the size of the total of storage

of all disks in the system.

This creates a very fast storage system since the load is spread across all disks.

The disadvantage is that when one disk dies, all data is lost.

Another way is to copy the content to two disks simultaneously so that when one disk

dies, all data is still available from the second disk.

The disadvantage is that you use only 50% of the total storage for data while the other

50% is used for redundancy.

When you use more than two drives, a more efficient safety system can be employed by

scattering the data over three or more drives in a way

that only about one third is needed for redundancy.

This is the scheme Drobo uses on all their products.

But they go beyond this, hence the name Beyond RAID.

Early RAID systems needed all disks to be identical, sometimes even up to the batch number.

This is no longer the case but Drobo was amongst the first - and maybe it was the first - to

let you use any combination of hard disks, regardless of capacity or speed.

It automatically figures out the most efficient way to use all capacity while guaranteeing

data safety.

And the best thing is that you don't have to understand anything of RAIDs or even computers.

Next to each drive is a light that can be green, yellow, blinking yellow, red or blinking red.

When green, that drive is OK, when yellow it is an empty slot you might add a drive

to, when it's blinking yellow you should not remove that drive.

A solid red light means you should now add a drive there and a blinking red light means

that drive is defective and needs to be replaced.

The Drobo Dashboard software also warns you with verbose messages.

As long as you follow the instructions, the Drobo device will take care of the rest.

The name Drobo stems from Data Robotics and that's exactly the right name.

If a disk fails and you are asked to replace it, you simply remove the disk with the red

light next to it and put in a new disk.

Nothing is lost but the Drobo needs to build up the safety scheme again and that can take

days, depending on the total amount of data.

Recent models are a lot faster than the old ones.

I accidentally popped out one drive from the 5Dt and when put back it took 18 hours to

fully restore the redundancy of 11.5 terabytes.

In the mean time the drive could be normally used although the data throughput was lower.

Drobo offers three kinds of devices: direct attached storage or DAS, networked attaches

storage or NAS and storage area network devices according to the iSCSI standard or iSCSI SAN's.

The latter is of no interest to us since they are a few thousand bucks per unit, excluding the disks!

So the choice is between a DAS and a NAS.

That is more or less a personal choice.

Since I have a computer running Roon in the machine room of the studio, I would prefer a DAS.

It's cheaper and it causes no extra load on the network.

But if you for instance use a streamer that does its own indexing, like devices from Sonos,

Bluesound, Auralic and others, you might prefer to use a NAS and place it anywhere in the

network as long as it's not in the living room.

For a number of disks packed in one housing always produces some noise.

For audio speed is no issue, even the initial model of 10 years ago still provides music

to the stereo of my son.

The only reason I bought the very fast 5Dt was video editing in ultra HD.

The standard 5 slot Drobo's, when filled with 10 terabyte disks, can store 36 terabyte

protected for the failure of one disks.

Would you like a dual disk redundancy, the capacity becomes 27 terabytes.

When even bigger drives become available Drobo can facilitate them up to a volume of 64 terabytes.

That goes for both the DAS and NAS versions.

As said, in the last 10 years I never lost a single bit due to hard disk failure.

And I have on average one to two hard disk failures a year since I have about 30 hard disks active.

But a single copy is never safe since the drive can be stolen, your house can catch

on fire, there can be water damage, not to mention the biggest problem: the human error.

So a second copy is good thing.

That need not be a RAID but for instance one or more USB drives.

And if you really want to be sure, also have a second backup and store that in a different

location, for instance at your work or with family.

Especially family photos and videos are very valuable and should be stored that way.

But ripping your music collection a second time isn't a very tempting idea either.

So one copy is unsafe, two copies is better and three copies is a backup.

If you would use a Drobo for heavier applications as well, like photo or video editing, you

might consider the 5N2 NAS of the 5D or 5Dt DAS that can use a 128 gigabyte m-SATA SSD

as a cache.

Keep in mind that only the 5Dt comes standard with the SSD cache installed, it is optional

for the two other models.

I would like to stress that, despite that NAS'ses are currently extremely 'en vogue',

a DAS is a better solution if you use a computer as music player.

Or if you have Roon installed on a computer.

A USB 3 or Thunderbolt connection is more reliable than a network connection.

The reliability of the Drobo products I can vouch for and that is based on a 10 year experience

with four Drobo products, all four still running.

I did have a failure with the 8 bay DroboPro after about 2 years.

Drobo replaced the unit under warranty within days by shipping a replacement and later picking

up the defective unit in the same packing.

The most important thing is the fact that you just don't have to know anything about anything.

Just follow the instructions and you're set.

If you, like me, have a large music collection that took years to get ripped and labeled correctly,

investing in a RAID system does set your mind at ease.

Choosing a Drobo Beyond RAID has worked very fine for me.

That doesn't mean there aren't other systems that might work just as well.

I can tell you only about my own experience.

REMOVING WINDOW TINT!!! How to remove window tint from your car - Duration: 6:47.

In this video i am removing the tint from the window

Start by rolling down the window a little to lift the tint from the top using a razor blade.

I prefer peeling the tint a little more then half way down the window so the tint can cover the panel

Now to scrap the glue. Soak the glue with baby shampoo and water, if you let it sit a minute then spray it again it will make the scraping much easier.

NOTE: Using glass cleaner softens the glue even more but can a bigger mess with sticky glue.

How to Make HitFilm Tutorials - A Complete Guide - Duration: 4:00.

Today I'm going to be showing you my process for making HitFilm tutorials.

This video is meant for people who maybe have something they want to show off, but aren't

quite sure how to go about it, or they're looking for higher quality results.

I've been making tutorials for about 5.5 years, and my methods have changed a lot over

time.

I'm Javert Valbarr for inScapeDigital.com, let's get started.

The first step is to nail down the effect that you want to showcase.

Really understand how you got there, and how all of the pieces work together to complete

it.

If you can't figure out how you did it, it'll be even more difficult for other people.

I write a transcript for every video I make.

Other tutorial makers choose to record their voiceovers live as they create the effect,

and that's fine, but I'm just not very good at it.

Writing out what I'm going to say helps me organize the information and have a higher

quality voiceover.

To start writing, I open the HitFilm project and look at the timeline of layers.

I go bottom to top, left to right.

These are usually the layers that I put in first, and would make the most sense to explain

at the beginning.

I've learned that people don't like when you skip over steps, even basic ones.

So I now include things like, "create a new plane", or "keyframe the opacity",

in my transcripts.

Recently I've started recreating the effect from scratch as I type up the script.

This prevents me from skipping over important points, and having to do it again solidifies

my understanding of the effect as a whole.

In addition to writing out each of the steps, try to explain why you did or didn't do

it a certain way.

This is where the viewers actually learn, rather than just copy.

Before recording the voiceover, I run the script against a list I call "trigger words".

These are words that I tend to use often, and too many of them would become distracting.

This may not be a problem for you, but it might be useful to check.

Once that's written, you can record it in the software of your choice.

I use Adobe Audition.

I apply a few effects to adjust the way it sounds: Amplify, a Compressor, and Parametric

Equalizer.

At this point I go through and cut out all of the mistakes, and the things that would

get me fired if you heard them.

Export the file, and import it into your video editor.

This next part involves cutting up the audio so that it's spaced out and has a better

pace.

You're going to record the screen capture while listening to this, so be sure to give

yourself plenty of time in between steps.

After separating the clips, you should have an idea of the minimum time the final tutorial

will be.

Open up HitFilm and your favorite screen capture software.

I have a Mac, so I use Quicktime, which is built in.

Hit record, press play for the audio file, and follow along as best you can in the software.

If the recording gets too far ahead, pause and rewind it, and try again.

The better you get at initially separating and timing the audio, the more likely you'll

be able to do the screencap in one take.

With the screen capture finished, I'll import it into Premiere and lay it on top of my audio.

Now it's just a matter of aligning everything and cutting out the unnecessary bits.

I used to include music under my tutorials, but it became kind of a chore to have to find

a unique song for each video.

Plus, some people find it annoying, so I don't include it anymore.

I also used to zoom in to the software and pan if I was talking about a setting or a

panel, but that can get confusing and hard to look at.

Of course, the most important thing is practice.

Make tutorials, get feedback, and try again.

The Worldwide Phenomenon That's Shrinking Animals - Duration: 2:34.

The threat of rising temperatures due to global warming will have serious effects on our tiny

blue planet.

Warming oceans could kill coral reefs, there might be less fresh water, more disease, less

polar bears, more bark beetles, the list goes on.

But here is one side effect you may not have heard of...smaller horses.

That's right, warmer temperatures could make some animals shrink.

About 50 million years ago, after the dinosaurs died off, the Earth went through a series

of warming events called hyperthermals, most likely from an increase of carbon.

Most notably was what scientists call the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM), when

temperatures rose between 5 and 8 degrees celsius, and stayed that way for almost 200,000

years.

Now, scientists wanted to know how this global warming event affected the creatures living

at the time, so they started studying ancient horse teeth.

And they found that, when global temperatures rose, these horses shrank.

During the PETM, one ancient horse species called Sifrhippus (siff-RIP-us), shrunk by

30%.

But as the Earth cooled back down, it got 76% bigger.

During the less drastic Eocene Thermal Maximum 2, another ancient horse, the Arenahippus

shrank by 14%, going from about the size of a dog to about the size of a cat.

Yeah, ancient horses were smaller than you might have thought.

So, why the shrinkage?

Well, one explanation might be Bergmann's rule, which states when the climate gets warmer,

mammals get smaller so they can cool off more efficiently.

Rising temperatures also see an increase in drought and a decrease in plant growth, which

basically mean less food and water for the animals, which could result in smaller and

smaller offspring.

But this is more than a fun fact, because global temperatures are on the rise again

and some shrinking has already been documented in modern day animals, like sheep, goats and

reindeer.

Now, there are other factors that could have been in play and the same dwarfing may not

happen the same way it did over 50 million years ago.

But with some climate scientists predicting the earth's temperature increasing by up

to 6 degrees by the year 2100, there may be a lot to learn from studying these shrinking

horses.

And if history does indeed repeat itself, more tiny horses could be on the horizon.
