Hello once again everyone, and welcome back to 'One English Tip in One Minute for

Speakers of Indian Languages' where each week I talk about, in some detail, one

common English mistake made by people from India...and this is video number 25.

I think you know what I'm going to say next. In fact, I'll pause and then you

can say what I'm going to say next. Are you ready? Yes, that's right: Nice going for working

to improve your English. It really is a cool thing to do. Truly -- I say it all

the time, but I really do mean it -- and I admire that you're doing so. In these

videos I show you a slide, and on the slide there are two sentences: One is the

correct way that someone who speaks English as a mother tongue would say it,

the other is the wrong way that many people from India say it. Your task

is to decide which one is correct.

Read the sentences, pause the video -- as you most certainly will have to -- and

think about your answer. I will discuss that answer in the following slide.

OK, so hopefully that went well and you don't have to spend that much time on this. But

if it didn't go well -- if you got it wrong or just happened to guess correctly -- then

it just means you have to study more. To start you off on that process, in this

very simple beginning, I've given you a few sentences that you can learn from.

Memorize these sentences, review them and put into practice what you've learned

through speaking or writing or both...and it's always a good idea to go outside

these videos as well and try to learn on your own.
