During the recording I haven't received any mental damage.

But surely playing challenges is a hard task, especially when I thought about solo.

In my opinion the easiest challenge to pass - just remember that these Super Apocs are super durable.

How DOES the EU Function? - Duration: 7:50.

Do you KNOW how the EU is governed?

What are the important institutions?

How they work together?

You probably only have a vague idea how it works, but probably know more about US politics

than about European politics.

Do you know who is the European president? Trick question!

There are around a dozen.

This episode will look at how the European government works but also show many of its

flaws.

This is not to say that the EU is necessarily ruled poorly, but I will address many of the

concerns average citizens have.

And I think we can ALL agree that governments could be run more efficiently in general.

Alright, so let's start at the top.

First off: The European Council.

It is comprised of the 28 chancellors, presidents, and prime ministers of the European member

states.

At the council the European leaders meet 4 times per year to define the EU's policy,

to push forward European integration, and to serve as an 'emergency brake' where

it can cancel EU plans if it convinces at least half the EU leaders to vote against

that plan.

So to whom does the European Council give direction?

To the European Commission.

The commission is responsible for drafting all the laws of the European Union.

It is comprised of 28 commissioners, one for each country, who are in charge of one aspect

of European law.

There is a commissioner of Transport, a commissioner of Regional Policy, a commissioner of Research,

Science, and Innovation, and so forth.

In this way, the Commission acts like a cabinet: It's led by a president, nominated by the

European Council and approved by the European Parliament.

The other 27 commissioners are chosen by each member country.

This way, every member state has 1/28th say in creating the laws of the European Union.

Okay, so what happens after the commission proposes a law?

There are two options.

First, if it concerns mostly policy within the European union then it gets send to the

EU parliament to vote on, if the majority votes in favour, the law is adopted.

The parliament functions much like a national parliament: there are political parties, the

people vote for them, and they pass laws.

So how are the seats in parliament determined?

Well, every member state gets an amount of seats depending on the population of that

country, with each country receiving at least 6 seats out of a total of 751 seats.

So when there are election, each country is assigned 6 seats.

The remining 583 are then divided depending on population.

Latvia, for example, has 2 million people out of a total European population of 508

million.

That's 0,4%, meaning 2 extra seats on top of their guaranteed 6.

This is done for every country and I'll leave this here so you can see how many seats

each country currently has.

During elections, you vote for your national party.

So let's say a Latvian party received 50% of the votes then they get 4 seats in the

European parliament.

These 4 don't sit alone but they form a party with likeminded parties from other countries.

I will leave this here if you're interested in the different EU parties and what they

stand for.

But what does the EU Parliament do?

The parliament sets the budget for the EU institutions every year, oversees the other

EU institution, and votes on laws.

But there is the catch.

[problem parliament-commission] So, the Commissions proposes a law, it sends that law to the parliament

and that parliament decides to either pass it or to send it back to the commission with

the adjustments they'd like to see.

This creates a strange distribution of power: the commission is the one who create laws

and parliament is the one who debates and votes on laws.

This is different from US or British politics: there you make a laws, defend your law in

parliament, and convince other parliamentarians to vote on your law.

This is one of the main reasons the EU is thought of as undemocratic: the commission

is selected by the member countries, not by the voters.

There are 28 commissioners.

So, if you're a Slovak then you didn't get a say in 27 out of the 28 commissioners.

Not to mention that 28 commissioners are too many to be effective.

And parliament continuously fails in bringing the Europeans closer to the European Union:

turnout in European elections is low and falling, and voters tend to decide on national, not

European issues.

Far from acting as a parliament that controls spending, it has often behaved more as a lobby

group whose main aim seems to be to spend more and to augment its own powers.

But it's not ALL bad.

For example, the commission is quite an efficient institution, employing only around 33,000

people, about the same amount as a largish local council in one of the member states.

And under the leadership of Jean-Claude Junker it has sharply reduced the amount of laws

it proposes.

And the EU parliamentarians are impressively well qualified for improving legislation and

questioning the EU commission.

It has passed many ground-breaking laws in the past such as reducing roaming charges,

passing legislation that sets the EU up as a global power, and taking steps towards more

gender equality in the EU.

Okay, so internal European matters it get send to parliament.

What if it's not?

Well, if it concerns foreign affairs or requires cooperation between the countries, then it

gets send to the Council of Ministers.

This is comprised of one minister from each EU country.

Depending on what they will vote on there are different ministers present.

If they have to vote on an agricultural law, there will only be agricultural ministers,

if they vote on matters of finance, there will be 28 finance minister, and so forth.

The council of ministers acts as a balance with the European parliament.

Where parliament is a purely European institution with European goals, the council of ministers

is comprised of people who have the best interest of their country in mind.

Like the parliament, they get to decide on the European budget.

The European Court of Auditors sees to it that the taxpayer's money is spent effectively

in the EU.

The European Court of Justice is the judicial arm of the European Union.

It is comprised of 28 judges, one from each of the member states.

Its role is to see to it that the EU laws are applied in all states and to settle legal

matters between institutions and countries.

It is the highest court in the EU. lastly there are the European Central Bank

and the Eurogroup, which we'll get to next episode.

The European parliament moves between Brussels and Strasbourg every month, costing 114 million

euros every year.

There is also the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of Regions.

They bring together trade union and civil representatives together for monthly meetings

to advise the council of ministers.

They cost about 200 million Euro ever year, but nobody would miss them if they were to

disappear tomorrow.

Lastly, all the institutions just mentioned are spread over Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg,

and Frankfurt.

This was done to assure that not one country can take the lead in the EU by having all

the European institutions in one country.

But it also means that you can't communicate properly so EU officials have to move between

cities a lot.

And that is only inside the EU.

Then there are countries outside who want access to the vast EU market but don't want

to adhere to all EU legislation, notably fishing regulations for Norway and Iceland and Banking

regulations for Switzerland.

They are part of the European Economic Area and Schengen, meaning that they can trade

freely with the EU countries and you can move between them, never realizing you left the

EU.

But the countries don't have any say in their rules, meaning that if the Schengen

or EEA treaties are changed, they can either sign the treaty or leave.

So here you have it, a complete overview of the important institutions and how they work.

Next week we'll delve into the Euro and the Euro crisis.

It will be equally critical of the EU as this episode.

Corporate Media Is Giddy Over Prospect Of A War In Syria - Duration: 3:45.

In response to Donald Trump's decision to send five dozen half ton explosive tomahawk

missiles into the country in Syria to target their weapons facilities, a lot of people

left, right, and center have actually been applauding the president's decision.

We have democrats out there saying like, "Well, he should have gotten Congress approval, but

oh well.

Hey, bombs, that's fun.

Right?"

You know the group that is giddy over all this?

The one group that is salivating at the thought of another war?

The corporate controlled media.

On Thursday evening when these missiles were hitting, when we were killing soldiers in

Syria, Russian soldiers in Syria, civilians in Syria, the media was overjoyed.

The guests on Thursday evening and Friday were all talking about the fact that this

was a good idea.

"This was the right thing.

Assad was such a horrible guy that we needed to send bombs over there.

To hell with civilian casualties or the Russian casualties that happened, or any other casualties.

We've got to do this to send a message."

That's what they told us, "We had to send a message."

Do you think they got the message?

Do you think it matters to them?

Do you think suddenly they're going to stop being horrible human beings just because we

sent over a couple missiles?

Or, maybe do you think it's just going to piss them off and make them do even worse

things?

There are ways to diplomatically handle situations like this.

There are inter-governmental organizations designed to handle conflicts like this.

They might be a little slow, I'll give you that.

That's still a hell of a lot better than sending missiles over to another country regardless

of the death toll.

The corporate media doesn't care about that.

I mean listen, the Syrian Civil War has been going on for well over four years.

Four years this fighting has been going on.

They haven't devoted enough coverage to that.

They haven't been talking about all of the atrocities that have been committed in the

country of Syria, because it wasn't in their interest.

They can't sell a war unless we finally get the people to pay attention, and that's what

the attack earlier this week did.

It got everybody's attention.

We sent over some missiles, and now the corporate media's so excited because their defense contractor

advertisers are going to get more money from government contracts to make more of those

missiles and guns and tanks and bombs so we can send them over there.

The corporate media loves war, they always have and they always will.

The Iraq war was a huge rating boost for channels like CNN and FOX News.

MSNBC's also getting in on the action here with Syria.

They're bringing on people talking about the fact that this was a good decision, and we

may have to do it again if they keep doing bad stuff.

Ignoring the fact that we're doing just as bad stuff in other countries in the Middle

East.

That's the problem.

Right now we're only hearing the one side of the story.

We're only hearing the part of the story where the US comes in acting like a hero because

Assad killed children.

Well, we've been doing the same thing in the Middle East since 2002, and nobody's said

a freaking word about that.

My Father is Strange | 아버지가 이상해 – Ep.9 [ENG/IND/2017.04.08] - Duration: 1:06:24.

(Episode 9)

Excuse me.

Can we talk for a minute, sir?

I came here to make him my son,

and I say, "Can we talk, sir?"

What kind of father calls his son "Sir"?

Pull yourself together.

That young man is my son from now on.

He's my son!

We need to talk.

Junghui!

Give me a bit of your time.

I need to tell you something.

Who are you? Do you know me?

I don't know who you are.

So there's nothing I want to hear from you.

Please don't bother me again.

Who's that?

Oh...

I'll come back tomorrow.

Please let me have a bit of your time tomorrow.

Whatever. There's no need to get mad.

The fact that I'm getting mad makes me mad.

He has nothing to do with me.

Al, where are you? I'm home.

Oh, there you are.

Al, did you have a good day?

Give me a kiss.

Don't go away.

Why did you hide? Were you mad at me?

You look skinny. Taebu didn't feed you, did he?

What a jerk.

You want some food? huh?

Tell me.

Kiss.

Oh, you're back. I was cleaning up.

Gosh, I hope it wasn't too hard.

I'll do the rest, so you can go home.

It's okay. I'll finish this.

By the way, why do you go out every day?

I didn't say anything to Yeongsil

because you told me not to.

Well, there's something I must do.

I have to go out again tomorrow.

I know it's hard, but I need your help again.

Again? Sure...

Who's that?

He's back again?

If you're inside, can we please talk?

It'll only be a minute.

Oh, why didn't he leave?

You're inside, aren't you?

There's nobody here.

Wait...

Did he already go out?

Man, I'm hungry.

He must be gone.

I don't get this.

Why is he still there?

How annoying. I'm starving.

Geez, there's nothing to eat.

Ouch!

This is so annoying!

What now?

Darn it. Man, that hurts.

I can't believe how annoying he is.

What is it? I don't want to talk to you.

If you ring the bell again,

I'm going to call the guard. Okay?

Wait!

Hello? Is this the guard's office?

This is apartment number 202.

We don't allow salesmen in the building.

No, I'm not a salesman.

Please leave. Leave!

Okay. Just a second.

I'll leave. I will.

Hyeyeong,

give that to me. You should've asked me.

No, I'm almost done.

Dad, have a seat.

Junyeong, Miyeong, Rayeong, breakfast is ready!

I wondered for a second if hell froze over,

but it hasn't, apparently.

Hyeyeong made all these.

She wouldn't let me lift a finger.

Mom, you're recovering from a cold.

What's going on? Hyeyeong, are you feeling okay?

Huh? Is today mom and dad's wedding anniversary?

There's no need to go that far.

I used to make breakfast sometimes.

When?

Sit down and eat.

Dad, I'm late, so I'll just drink this juice.

Hyeyeong, aren't you running late, too?

I'm going to leave for work a little late today.

I just finished a case.

Try this egg I made.

Let me try the egg my eldest daughter made.

Here.

It's good. It's perfectly seasoned.

Smart people are good at cooking, too.

Oh, there you go again.

If frying eggs is cooking, mom's a chef.

Honey, did you see how she dragged me into it?

She did.

You're dissing me too, aren't you?

Mom, you kind of lost there.

I'll see you later. I'm late.

Mom, bye.

Be careful.

- Have a nice day. / - Okay.

- Have a nice day. / - Bye.

You have something to say, don't you?

You're very sharp, mom.

Let's eat first.

What is it?

Yeah, I'm curious, too.

What is it?

Well, for a while, commuting

has been too time-consuming and exhausting for me,

so I thought of getting an apartment near work.

But a few days ago, my friend asked me

to be her roommate.

She lives in an apartment in Gangnam alone,

but the rent went up so much

that it became unaffordable

and she asked me to share the burden.

There are two rooms, so there'll be no problem.

So you want to move out?

Yes.

Oh, but it's only during the week.

I'll come home on weekends.

So I won't be gone for good.

But you're still moving out.

What kind of friend?

A friend from college. You don't know her.

My friend's parents live in Seongnam.

So my friend had to move out because of work.

Right, it's a long commute.

It takes much more than an hour.

Wouldn't it be too much trouble for your friend?

But it was my friend who suggested it first.

Well, what do you think?

If it's just during the week, it might be fine.

Of course. On weekends, no matter what,

I'm coming home.

Well, to be honest, I would love to commute from home.

But to be realistic, it takes too much time to do it,

and I'm getting more and more work.

It's getting hard for me to handle.

Sleeping in the night duty office isn't easy.

And then I feel uncomfortable

and tired all day long the next day.

I understand what you mean.

I'll think about it, so you go to work.

Okay, dad.

Please think about it.

It'll be cold at night. Wear something warm.

Okay.

You're against it?

She asked me to think about it, so I'll think about it.

I'm going to work, too.

I said I'm pregnant.

Oh...

A restaurant on the first floor in Mokdong?

The rent must be pretty high.

I guess business is booming.

What am I going to do?

Why did I tell such a lie? Huh?

I wish I were dead.

Maybe I should just kill myself.

- Good morning. / - Good morning.

Are you feeling sick?

No.

Normcore is in right now,

so I tried it out.

But your signature look is the killer heels.

You must not be busy if you

have time to discuss my outfit.

You want more work?

I guess Junyeong is busy right now.

Should I check out how big the restaurant is?

Mokdong, Otosan Sushi.

Mokdong, Otosan Restaurant.

What's going on? I'm sure it's Otosan Sushi.

Is it not?

(Junyeong)

Your call is being forwarded to...

Junyeong, call me when you can.

Your father's restaurant is Otosan Sushi, right?

Junyeong.

Junyeong!

Hey!

Hey, why won't you answer me?

Hey, is something wrong?

Uncle...

What are you going to do?

There's only one way.

Hansu wouldn't kill you.

Just grit your teeth and tell him the truth.

What else could you do?

Your girlfriend said she wants to have it.

So you have to tell him.

Is that really the best way, uncle?

What if I told him after my exam

and after the baby is born...

You think that's possible?

No.

I'm actually relieved.

You can at least tell that's not possible.

Oh, why didn't you be more careful?

Why did you put yourself in such an awful situation?

No.

Gosh, my poor sister.

What did she do in her previous life

to deserve a little brother like me

on top of a son like you?

I'm sorry.

I can't help but think about Yeongsil today.

Why does your girlfriend want to have the baby?

What does she see in you?

Uncle, actually, Yuju thinks my father

runs a big Japanese restaurant in Mokdong.

She does?

What?

I didn't mean to lie to her.

It just came out the wrong way.

In Japan, they call rice rolls "sushi,"

and I didn't want to tell her he sells rice rolls.

I can't believe you!

Uncle, please don't add to my torment.

I already feel like dying.

Wait, stop making excuses and call her right now.

Call her and tell her the truth, okay?

She needs to have the facts

so she can make the right decision. Okay?

I know.

I think I should tell her,

but I can't bring myself to do it.

Hey!

Is that a good enough excuse not to tell her?

Call her right now.

Call her and ask her to meet so you can tell her.

- No, no, no. / - Hurry.

Uncle, I can't. I really can't.

Uncle, just a second. I can't do it.

(My Ju)

- Answer it. / - Shh.

Answer it right now.

No, I can't.

Your call is being forwarded to...

Byeon Junyeong,

are you ignoring my calls?

(Taebu)

Why won't he call me?

Did he change his schedule?

Mr. An isn't coming here?

Junghui will arrive in an hour.

Thank you.

What should I do?

There's nowhere to hide.

Junghui.

We're late. Mr. Kang is waiting.

It's okay.

If I arrive early, he'll only nag.

Wait, I have something to tell him.

Taebu, hurry up.

I can do this.

I can handle anything.

Hello, Mr. An.

How do you feel?

("Family-like Family," KBC 2TV Daily Drama)

No.

Mr. Kang, outside humanism or family story,

how about this? A bloody action story.

How about a movie like that?

If not, I think any other genre will be okay.

Read it.

The director is pretty good, and...

Even with Park Chanwook, I won't do a daily drama.

Hey!

If I were the writer or the director,

I wouldn't cast you for a daily drama.

Acting is really important in daily dramas.

You should be grateful you're getting offers.

Why are you so oblivious to your lack of talent?

Is it you can't realize it or you won't realize it?

Mr. Kang, how can you say that about your own artist?

So that's what this company thinks of me.

That's why you gave me a crappy employee like her

and treat me this way.

- An employee like her? / - The intern.

Why didn't you fire me?

You don't remember what she did to me?

And that apology letter.

She is really twisted inside.

- Fire her? / - Yes, how many times must I repeat that?

- Really? / - Really!

Okay.

I should send her to Jin Seongjun.

Seongjun is really short-staffed.

He is so busy these days.

Wait, why would you give him my employee?

You said you didn't want her.

Fire her. I didn't say to give her to Jin Seongjun.

You don't want her, right?

That's great.

Jin Seongjun really likes the new intern.

No, you can't do that.

Don't be unreasonable.

You're a 35-year-old, not a 35-month-old baby.

Fine. I'll keep her. I will.

I'll keep her!

Oh, boy...

Goodbye.

Did you have a nice talk?

Where are you going next?

- You. / - Yes?

I will make sure you quit of your own volition.

- Intern? / - Yes?

Do whatever it takes and make him review these.

Yes, sir.

You're getting in?

- Yes. / - Why?

Because I have to be with you all the time.

Okay. Then walk.

Oh, is it too far to walk?

Yes, though I don't know where you're going.

Then run.

Mr. An, I...

Hurry.

- I'll call you. / - Okay.

What a heartless jerk.

What a tenacious guy.

(Nam Taebu / Byeon Miyeong)

I'll give you

the notebook I kept for the past five years.

Inside are the records of everything on An Junghui,

his illness, romantic history, number of moles, etc.

Review them thoroughly and make use of them.

He was born in America.

He finally got what I meant.

Where are you?

At my office.

I'm drowning in files.

I'm getting some sunlight.

Did you tell them?

Yes, this morning.

So what did they say?

I think my mom's okay with it,

but from how my dad looked,

I expect some difficulties.

Try to convince him.

How? Tell him the truth?

How's work going, Nut?

We're out of seaweed.

Honey, do you have some time?

I got some good pears.

Try it. It's like sugar.

It is. It's really sweet.

The price was even sweeter. 5 for $10.

I got some for my mom, too.

Did you think about it? About Hyeyeong.

I can't say yes.

The commute may be hard,

but it takes a bit over an hour.

It's actually harder on Miyeong.

Hyeyeong's been taking the subway for three years.

Miyeong just started.

She doesn't take the subway every day.

You give her a ride often enough.

When she gets married, she will move out.

So why does she have to do it so soon?

Many people do it before they get married.

They have this "Kangaroo generation"

where grownups don't leave their parents,

which is a bigger problem now.

So you're saying yes?

Yes, I'm saying yes.

My heart breaks whenever I see her

coming home every two or three days

looking like blanched spinach.

If she moves out, she'll get enough sleep.

She'll be here on weekends, so it's not permanent.

But she'd still be moving out.

And eating is just as important as sleeping.

She doesn't eat much even when we nag her,

so what will she do when she moves out?

Is it because you're sad?

I'm not sad.

I'm worried because it's not that safe.

How can anyone let their daughter move out?

I can't understand you.

Are you sick of our children?

Wait, what... That's not true.

That's not fair.

How can it be so easy for you?

What do you want to do?

Huh?

Hold a family meeting?

Okay, let's do that.

Fine. Before I forget.

Announcement.

There's a family meeting tonight.

Come home before nine o'clock.

Agenda is about Byeon Hyeyeong moving out.

And Byeon Rayeong,

you haven't wired this month's rent.

Do it.

I'm going down.

What about the pear?

Good luck.

- Yeongsik. / - Hi, Yeongsil.

You didn't go to work today?

Well, I had a shoot outside, and I dropped by.

Mom is home, right?

- I got you some fruits. / - Okay.

Well, Yeongsil, did anything happen?

Anything? Like what?

Well, I was just thinking...

Remember what you said after I got conned?

That you never know what might happen

and that you have no control over your life.

So Yeongsil, cheer up, no matter what happens.

What's wrong with you?

Did you get into trouble again?

No, I didn't.

I was just thinking about the old days.

Yeongsil, you know I love and respect you, right?

So keep your chin up. You've got this.

Yeongsil.

Yeongsil, I'll see you later.

Good luck.

What the...

It's delicious.

Oh, wow.

It's tiny, but it looks delicious.

- Right? / - Yes.

I thought of you, so I got a lot.

- You did? / - Yes.

How's your back? Is it really okay?

Yes, it's fine.

It hurt really badly that day,

but after I got some sleep, I felt fine.

By the way, did she call you after that?

Of course.

I swept the hallway and the steps this morning.

I've never met anyone like her.

Here.

Whoa, it's sweet.

It's delicious. You have a bite, too.

Right? Enjoy.

Bomi, you try some, too.

It's yummy.

It's really sweet.

This will take care of mother's snacks for a while.

Whoa, really?

If someone overheard, they'd think you've been

getting me all kinds of snacks.

Geez, mom, some might think

Bomi never gets you any snacks.

Thank you, Yeongsil.

Bomi, is anything wrong?

Like what?

Nothing.

Just asking.

Of course everything's fine.

Nothing's wrong with you, right?

Like what?

Nothing. Just asking.

Okay.

(Understanding Soccer Strategies - Sports Grad School)

Why do you look so scared?

I'm the only one who knows about this place.

What are you doing here?

To make plans. Do you have any clothes?

Plans? Clothes?

What are you doing?

I don't see any suits...

Wait, all you have are sweats?

Wait, I just wanted to...

What is it you want to say?

Like talking about the wedding tomorrow

and checking on the dress code?

Make it sound more organized.

Number 1,

act like you're really in love with me.

Number 2, you don't need a luxury brand suit,

but wear something close to it.

Your outer cover's fine,

so it just needs to look expensive.

What's outer cover?

It's this.

Outer cover. Appearance.

How you look.

I don't have anything that looks expensive.

The director's number is...

At 1:30...

I'll see you in front of Seongsim Convention.

Sure.

What? Byeon Hyeyeong's moving out?

Did you wire the money, Rayeong?

Not yet. I'll do it tomorrow.

But no matter how hard I think about, $150 to me...

Junyeong's here.

Honey, everyone's here.

Okay.

As your mom said in the text,

Hyeyeong wants to move in with her friend,

who lives in an apartment in Gangnam.

And I wanted to hear what you thought.

Lucky you, Hyeyeong.

What kind of friend?

A friend from my college club.

It'll be good for both of us.

My friend can't afford the rent,

and I can't handle the commute.

That's so great.

You can move out because you can afford it.

We haven't decided on it yet.

I say yes.

The commute is really hard.

And it takes a really long time.

One question.

Just because she's moving out, we won't have to

pay more rent, do we?

No.

Then I say yes. And I'm taking her room.

No.

I'll be coming home on weekends.

How can you do that?

We have to leave it empty

because you'll use it two days a week?

Mom, dad, is that fair?

Be quiet.

We haven't decided if she can move out yet.

I mean, she's being really selfish.

It's evil to keep it just for two days a week.

I say no.

Fine. You can take the room.

I'll sleep with Miyeong on weekends.

And I want to borrow your bag for a day.

Just say no.

I say no.

I say no, too.

It's dangerous for a girl to move out on her own.

What are you talking about?

It's because I'm your big brother.

It's too dangerous for my little sister.

You're no help at all.

I heard that.

I say yes.

- You get no vote. / - Why?

I'm a member of this family, so I get a vote.

The votes weren't cast in secret,

but according to universal suffrage,

I have the right to vote, too.

The candidates of the presidential election

and legislative election vote, too,

because they are both candidates and voters.

What she says is right,

but don't you want to smack her when you hear it?

Honey, what do we do?

She's right. Let her vote.

That's two to two.

Mom, dad, how about you?

I, well...

We're married, so we're one.

I'll go with dad's decision.

That means it's up to dad.

How about you, dad?

I say no.

Why?

What do you mean, why?

As a father, I'm worried and I feel uncomfortable.

We'll forget about you moving out.

Go.

You should've been nicer.

She must be upset.

Is your family meeting over?

It is.

Dad was adamant, so I can't move out.

Huh? What do we do, then?

I don't know.

I'm not myself because of the shock.

I'm regretting not lending my bag to Rayeong.

Rayeong said no?

Why didn't you lend it to her?

Lending a bag isn't a big deal.

Don't add to my troubles.

I'm already feeling a wave of deep regret and anger.

Teehee, relax.

Nut, you're dying to move in with me, aren't you?

Goodbye.

Are you that sad?

About letting Hyeyeong move out?

I'm not sad. Stop saying that.

It's because I'm worried.

I can see it on your face.

You'll be sad if you let her move out,

but now that you've said no,

your heart breaks since you're making her suffer.

That's not it.

Go to sleep. I'm tired, too.

If you're that sad, how will you let her get married?

You're going to live with her forever?

Fine. I'll stop talking.

Gosh, you didn't have to turn your back to me.

She's not 14 or 24.

She's 34 years old.

So how can you still dote on her like that?

I wonder if Hyeyeong knows

how much her dad loves her.

I'm going to sleep.

Goodnight, okay?

Oto... Otosan Sushi.

(No result)

How weird.

(Junyeong)

What is he trying to do?

Otosan Sushi, and he said something else.

O-Otosan Sushi.

It means "dad's sushi," "dad's restaurant."

Something like that.

Oh!

(Mokdong, Dad's Restaurant)

(Mokdong, Dad's Food (Dad's Restaurant) Disappointed)

(Mouth-watering / The rice rolls are the best!)

They are closing it down at the end of this week.

They won't be in Mokdong anymore,

but they are reopening in Suwon as Dad's Snack Bar.

Suwon, Dad's Snack Bar?

(Mr. An - 2 new messages)

Mr. An...

Get me snailfish soup from Jeil Diner in Sokcho.

Don't forget to take a photo.

Snailfish soup?

Sokcho?

What time is it?

It's only 5 a.m.

Sokcho.

What is it?

Are you really disappointed?

Because we won't let you move out?

I'm not disappointed.

I just don't understand.

It's only during the week when I go to work,

so why won't you let me do it?

I sleep in the night duty office all the time anyway.

You really don't get it?

No, I don't. At all.

Gosh, you're not so smart after all.

Your dad's sad, that's why.

He doesn't want to because you're his heart.

Well, I'm not saying I'm moving out for good.

I said I'll come home on weekends.

But that's how us parents feel.

Don't you remember?

When you got into college,

after we dropped you off at your dorm, he cried.

Your dad is a very doting father.

And he loves you most of all.

The day you were born,

he couldn't even hold you because

he was so afraid he might hurt you

and just cried like a baby.

I wish you could see that.

After you were born, I moved down the hierarchy from

number 1, where even Junyeong couldn't oust me from.

Do you get it now?

My dense daughter?

I'm saying...

I didn't ask him to love me so much.

What brings you here?

Dad.

Want to go out with me tonight?

I get off work at 6 o'clock.

Why? To talk about you moving out?

But we finished the discussion last night.

No, it's not about that.

I'm busy today.

And once again, you can't move out.

I said it's not about that.

Then I'm glad.

It's late. Go to work.

I'm busy.

I'll see you later.

(Sokcho, 5km)

Oh, I'm almost there. Almost.

Where is it?

Maybe I should just catch one and make it.

(Jeil Restaurant, Snailfish Soup)

Oh! Jeil Restaurant!

Give me lots. Fill it up.

Thank you.

Grandmother, I'm sorry, but...

One, two, three.

Hi, Mr. An.

I'm back from Sokcho.

I brought the snailfish soup.

Should I bring it up?

What took you so long?

You eat it.

H-Hello?

Ms. An? Hel...

What should I do now?

Go wait at the office.

Sure. Call me whenever.

Let's see how long you'll last.

Wait, how did she get back so soon?

Did she really go to Sokcho?

What? She really did.

Maybe I should ask for the conger eel in Busan.

Man, I'm bored.

How do you like it?

I heard you like this kind of food,

so I did some searching.

It's nice.

You eat, too. Why aren't you eating?

I am eating.

Father.

Can't you be a bit nicer to mom?

I think she's been feeling really lonely lately.

Your mom's always lonely.

She's been saying she's lonely all her life.

That's all because of you.

You're so indifferent to her.

She's not helping the situation.

Your mom and I are incompatible.

We have nothing in common.

But mom at least tries to make an effort.

You never do.

Isn't that your duty as someone's spouse?

So why don't you try to make an effort

to understand mom?

If you can't understand, try to memorize.

You love to study, so try to study, research

and analyze mom.

Why should I spend my precious time on that?

I don't want to waste my life away.

But father...

Did your mom put you up to this?

Well... Did you know that

two days from now is mom's cafe's grand opening?

Everything else aside, please go there with

a plant that says "Happy Grand Opening."

Okay?

Eat.

(Resume)

Working at a cafe isn't hard.

It's a cafe, so make coffee, serve them,

do the dishes and clean the cafe.

I hate anything dirty, so make sure you clean well.

And fill the dessert display case.

And help me open the cafe.

Oh, and help me with the bookkeeping on weekends.

That's all.

So? Can you do it?

No.

- Good luck. / - Wait.

Wait... Look here...

I am clean-cut,

responsible and hard-working.

Okay, but...

We are looking for

a clean-cut female part-timer.

A girl?

Ouch, my back.

Can you make coffee?

What?

Can you make coffee?

Of course.

In my youth,

I made coffee for everyone in town.

But grandmother, you know what?

Didn't you see this?

Right here. There's an age limit.

This is a place for young people.

I'm sorry.

Well you should've told me earlier!

Man...

Ouch... I came all the way here.

We've never met before, so how could I tell you?

Man!

Goodness, hiring a part-timer is so hard.

This is bad. The grand opening is in two days.

Did you enjoy your lunch?

- Jeonghwan. / - Yes?

The director wants to see you.

He does?

Why?

I don't know.

Okay.

Did you ask for me?

Yes.

The thing is, for the new season,

we're canceling Entertainment Today.

What? Cancel?

Who cancels their signature show?

Who do you think is responsible for

tanking the ratings of the signature show?

I told you!

The show's format is old,

so the drop couldn't be avoided.

That's why we're canceling it.

Why do you always turn to the numbers?

Today's Entertainment is...

We're losing the advertisers and have no choice.

Can you make a show with no advertisers?

This week's shoot is the last one.

Wrap it up and wait for the next assignment.

Where is he? What if he doesn't show?

How petty of him.

Wow, his outer cover is so...

You're here. Let's go.

We're lovers.

Your expression.

With love in your eyes.

Let's go.

Friends of the groom and bride, give me some space.

Okay.

Look this way.

Good.

Congratulations on your wedding.

You're really here.

Of course.

You sent me an invitation, so I had to come.

I didn't expect you to show up.

Now that you're here, don't forget the cash gift.

You and I had a very special relationship.

Uh, well... Right.

Say hello.

You know her, don't you? My wife.

Congratulations. You're beautiful.

You gained weight. Is it because of the breakup?

What do you mean?

It's not like that.

I can tell it's from drinking too much.

All you had to offer was your body.

What a shame.

You're standing too close to my girlfriend.

He's your boyfriend?

Y-Yes. My boyfriend.

Congratulations on your wedding.

But please don't ever be so rude

to my girlfriend again.

And don't ever contact her again.

Alright, sure.

Shall we go, Rayeong?

Yes.

Wow, you are a beautiful couple.

Why don't you take a photo with them?

Here we go.

Smile.

One, two, three.

Dad?

You said you were finishing early, didn't you?

This isn't that bad.

What are you doing here?

Well...

I had an errand to run,

and I thought I might wait for you.

Let's go.

Is that friend a very close friend?

Of course.

That's why I thought I'd do it.

You won't be intruding, will you?

I'll be paying rent, too.

Okay. Go ahead and do it.

Move out.

Dad?

But you must come home on weekends.

Of course.

It was because I was sad.

I never even thought about it before.

That you would move out before getting married...

You were upset, weren't you?

No.

But you must eat every meal.

Even when you're busy,

you must have a smoothie or rice cakes for breakfast.

Oh, dad.

I'm not a child.

You are.

Until the day you grow old and die,

to your mom and me, you're all children.

Let's go.

Dad!

I will come home on weekends.

(Dad's Snack Bar)

- The spicy rice cakes are good. / - It is.

Should we get some tomorrow, too?

Okay.

Pick up.

Byeon Junyeong, pick up.

Y-Yuju.

H-How did you find out?

Is this Otosan Sushi?

No, actually...

Then what's this?

Actually...

What happened was...

Is this your father's restaurant?

Otosan Sushi?

Yes.

I didn't mean to lie to you.

It's the truth. Please believe me.

I wasn't intentionally deceiving you.

I just wanted to make a good impression.

I thought you'd think very little of me

if I told you it was a rice roll place.

You think I'm a joke?

No, Yuju.

How could I think you're a joke?

Yuju...

Otosan Sushi?

This is Otosan Sushi?

Wait...

How dare you do this to me?

Yuju, don't throw that, it's dangerous!

How dare you do this to me?

What am I going to do now?

Why did you do it?

Why did you lie to me? Why?

What Otosan Sushi?

What Otosan Sushi?

How dare you do this to me?

If I ever see you again,

I will kill you.

Yuju...

Junyeong? Junyeong!

What...

What happened? Huh?

Junghui, you've been home all this time?

Have you eaten anything?

You didn't starve yourself, did you?

An actor must watch his health.

Be quiet and chop the cabbage.

Al is hungry.

Should we go on a trip next week?

I have nothing on my schedule.

But I do.

How can you? When I don't have anything?

I do.

There are the auditions for the new talents,

and I have meetings about it.

Why are you involved in new talents?

Junghui.

I've been promoted.

I'm the team leader of the New Talents Team.

What are you saying?

Who told you to get promoted?

What about me?

The intern will be in charge of

dealing with your business.

No!

Why do you hate that intern so much?

She did... Make a few mistakes,

but she's hard-working and sincere.

I just hate everything about her.

I hate how she wears round glasses like yours.

And I hate the fact her last name is Byeon.

What kind of last name is Byeon?

Oh... Junghui, that's discrimination.

Why is that?

Why are you making me look like a bad man?

It is discrimination.

Discrimination of last name.

Whatever.

But don't step on my foot.

What? I'm not doing that.

Hey!

You son of a!

- Wait. / - Go.

Junghui, we're supposed to have dinner.

Go. You scared Al.

He needs to recover psychologically.

This is so annoying.

Did you leave something behind?

What did you leave...

You were home.

Let that go.

Let's talk.

I said let that go.

I have something to tell you.

Are you kidding me?

I told you I don't want to hear anything.

Let go.

I said let go.

You want me to push you?

I said let go!

Come in.

I said come in. Hurry.

Okay. Let's hear it.

Go ahead and talk.

After she leaves,

we won't ever get to live with her again.

Welcome to our new secret home.

Jeonghwan's show got canceled.

I guess Jeonghwan never tells you anything.

Whatever it is, tell me first.

May I put my hand on your body?

I studied a lot about you, Mr. An.

You didn't get any work done, right?

This is all natural.

Isn't this flirting?

I will make you mine.

Park Cheolsu.

It looked like you were getting take-out.

This would be better than them.

I'm sorry. You're really disappointed, aren't you?

Yuju, wake up.

Wake up!

Wayne Dyer: What are The Best Ways to Make Your Life Easier ( Wayne Dyer Movitation ) - Duration: 18:57.

In front of my place on Maui there is a

beautiful set of 11 or 12 palm trees and

these are like 30 40 50 feet tall

they've been there for I don't know how

long decades and when the winds come and

when the storms come the storms will

blow them over there they are watch and

this is amazing elastic things I learned

so much from these things I go out there

when I was when I did this when I wrote

the essay in the book on the verse 73 I

just went out there with the palm trees

and I would just commune with these palm

trees and they go all the way and then

they come all the way back that's a

symbol for how we need to think in our

own lives in verse 73 it says it is

heavens way to conquer without striving

it does not ask yet it is supplied with

all that it needs it does not hurry yet

it completes everything on time one of

my favorite lines from the Dow when our

favorite beliefs from the dow is this

that you're doing nothing all of you

you're doing nothing you're just being

done just like you were the first nine

months of your life you think you're out

there and you're making this happen and

you're making that happen and you've got

all these rigid things and you have to

apply your life this way you're not

doing anything any more than you were

having your fingernails show up when

they were supposed to and look at you

look at all of you look around you know

it's like you know what held it in

yesterday hit huh

I don't know I'm not doing anything they

fall out and that they don't fall out

and no matter how hard I tried to keep

him in there finally my kids said give

it up give it up so I was over in

England and they told me that I couldn't

take my shampoo bottles on the plane and

there's nothing you can do about it I

said yes there is I'll just shave my

head I no longer need shampoo ok so we

want to move from stiffness to

flexibility the next thought that I'd

like to see us change that the Dow

taught me so much was living by

interfering to shift that to living by

not interfering you know that every one

of your children have the anchor of the

universe located within them and that

khalil gibran this is a paraphrase he

said your children are not your children

they are the products of life's longing

for itself they come through you but not

for you they're not there for you so

what are you doing interfering in their

lives now i'm not talking about letting

them play out in the traffic or play at

the edge of a swimming pool if they

don't know how to swim i'm talking about

that I'm talking about I called this

when I was when I was working on this

and living this and practicing this for

that full year of 2006 the bite your

tongue zip your lips verses of the doll

verse 29 of the Dow do you think you can

take over the universe and improve it I

do not believe it can be done everything

under heaven is a sacred vessel and

cannot be controlled trying to control

leads to ruin trying to grasp we lose

allow your life to unfold naturally

allow other people's lives to unfold

naturally as well we have parents I see

them a lot they're called helicopter

because they're always hovering there

hovering over their kids and they're

telling them what to do and what not to

do in it my son came over from England

my son Shane and he was going to get

ready to go to college go to college in

America and my wife said to me so you're

going to take him and show him how about

registration right I said oh yeah i'll

be doing that she said well make sure

that you helped him because he doesn't

know have any idea how to register at

the schools great big school of

thousands of people I said yeah and I do

right I would know how to register kids

at school yeah and so a shame got in the

car and I said it's all going to be fine

you all be fine and we drive over to the

campus and I drop them off when i had my

tennis racket in the back and he said

where you're going i said well i'm a

profit i said i get paid by the thought

I have a tennis match and then I have to

walk on the beach so that I could paid

but he said but what about the

registration is it and while the

registration I said you'll do a lot like

I did when I learned to register what do

you mean I said you'll just go up to the

people and say where is registration and

they'll say it's over there where all of

those people are all lined up if I

remember those days and a college of

40,000 students or so finding out on a

register Tracy did I take you to

register honey now so he said you mean

you this guy said yeah you just go

that's what you want daddy to walk with

you over and take you to graduate you're

18 years old and you want daddy to

register you y'all know I wouldn't want

that

so we got home at the end of the the end

of the evening when that was when i get

back home and my wife had said to me she

said did you help Shane at registration

all I said I gave him so much help

probably the most help he ever had in

his life I taught him how to do things

for himself and so that I wouldn't have

to be interfering and hovering over and

figuring it all out for them my children

know that when their science project

comes up that I'm there for consultation

but I pass science I got through that

myself and you'll be doing your own

science project if I can help you I'll

be happy to help you but I'm not going

to be getting the glue and figuring out

how to make a time clock and all that I

should you know just just look at a

clock that's how you tell time for me

whatever it might be and and it's not an

uncaring and it's not a callous attitude

at all it's an awareness that your

children have the anchor of the universe

located within them that's what Lao Tzu

said now my dear friend who I love so

much she's right here in the audience

Kerry right there carry on it's from

Molly she has two beautiful little

daughter and she asked me if I would

watch them one afternoon when my

grandson Carter was visiting I said I'd

be happy to watch them she says but you

don't understand I mean they're gonna

they're going to do this and they're

gonna do that I said you just go off and

she was studying for an exam I said you

go study do whatever you have to do I

can handle three little kids out at the

swimming pool for three or four hours I

can handle that so she went off very

nervous gave me list told me what to do

what they might say what they might not

say then if she says no Kylie says this

you tell Colleen if my lease is hos

Kylie Kylie and Carter huh

so they go out there and right here

there's a little pool over here little

swimming pool and I watch them over in

the swimming pool and Kylie takes the

water and splashes my grandson a garter

and splashes kamaole and Kylie comes

over to me and runs over within two

minutes says Kylie splurged Smith of

course I'm working on the dot

non-interference I said splashing honey

is in the way of things when you're near

water splashing will take place she said

yeah but but she splashed me I said

you'll probably work this out this will

all be fine she stood there for the

longest time was a little lip and so on

and finally she realized she wasn't

getting anywhere with me she went back

before you know it one of them had taken

now kylie and kylie are teaming up

against Carter then they pushed them

under or whatever now one of them is

five and one of them is four and one of

them is seven or eight and Carter comes

running over fast as he can run zone he

calls me bombuh I'm grandpa mom pop

bumper bumper Miley Miley pushed me

under the water I said Carter I'm a

Taoist master

but bomba bomba you pushed me she put me

under us and you'll just have to work

this one out there I'm a Taoist mess

this went on all for the for the first

hour or so but I noticed as I was less

interfering and less interfering that

they were working it out they tried

again after a few times they come over

and they wanted this and they'd want to

employ someone of it but each time when

I let them know that I was watching and

making sure they were safe but I wasn't

going to interfere wasn't going to

resolve it i wasn't going to settle

their disputes for them i wasn't going

to be a helicopter parent even for an

afternoon and the way that it was

resolved itself with they had the anchor

of the universe with is no they have a

nature they know what to do one of my

favorite things always to say to my

children when there's a conflict is you

know what the right thing to do is what

do you think you know you have it in

your heart you are a divine being they

all know that I've said those words to

them over and over again you'll figure

it out you'll work it out now that not

I'm going to interfere I'm going to tell

them what to do you can practice this so

many places so many ways in your life

particularly as parents even in business

it's very important in businesses to

allow the people to say at the end of

the day right out of the Dow oh we did

that ourselves we did it ourselves in

the Dow it says there's a time for

everything and everything in its time

there's a time for everything listen to

this there's a time for being a head and

a time for being at peace there's a time

for being in motion and a time for being

at rest there's a time for being

vigorous and a time for being exhausted

and in the Bible to everything there is

a season a time for every purpose under

the Sun I practice this was so helpful

to me particularly as I do my yoga

practice they're my other practice it's

there are some very exhausting postures

I do this become hot yoga all right so

it's 105 or between 105 and 110 49

and there's one that I used to hate it's

called triangle you know and so you put

your foot out here and then you do this

and then you get yourself up and you go

all the way down and you get yourself in

balance like here so your bounce balance

down and you take your arms out here and

then you take these like this and it's

105 degrees and there you take one and

you're looking up here at your arm your

look at you look at you look and then

you bring it back and it lasts a full

minute and I used to just wait for that

minute to be over like that when are

they going to bring me on this pasta or

so exhaust I started practicing what the

doubt teaches and I remember there's a

time for being exhausted there's a time

for that and as I part to Center to end

there's a time for being at rest and

it's coming hopefully soon but in your

life in your life there's an awareness

that there is a time for all the things

that are go on that you think shouldn't

be happening in the Dow it says that

hidden in all misfortune is good fortune

hidden in the misfortune that you have

is good portion because no storm can

last forever even nature cannot create a

storm that lasts forever ultimately

hidden within every storm is calmness

hidden within every flood is drought and

dryness hidden within all of the storms

of your life is the piece that you

desire and it leans on you if you stop

telling yourself and just let yourself

go with it to be at harmony with it

rather than fine you can see why this is

called the wisest book ever written and

we're just touching on it here just

touching on this lao-tzu was green

before Eleanor

he was this is verse 39 of the doubt

attained when man interferes with the

doll the sky becomes filthy the earth

becomes depleted the equilibrium

crumbles creatures become extinct

therefore nobility is rooted in humility

finally I'd like to say to you and

understanding this idea of the dial is

to take time yourself for being in

nature take an hour a day every day of

your life take an hour a day no matter

how busy you are no matter what

scheduling that you have to get out in

nature walk barefoot on the grass walk

there is one of the great ways to

overcome an inability to sleep at night

just go out when you can't sleep and

just walk on the grass walk on the earth

and reconnect yourself now go out and be

with the tree and look at what you can

learn from nature look at these trees

look at these animals you can study you

look at that look at me you can study a

flower like that that it's so

magnificent as its unfolding that's an

actual photograph of this thing growing

and unfolding there you'll be with that

you have much to learn from nature from

water from the sky from the winds from

the trees from the bird looks the more

you do it the more you see yourself in

all of them the more you'll feel

yourself as a connected being living the

doll another thought to change to change

from thinking big to thinking small it's

so much of the Dow has in it statements

that seems so paradoxical and so

confusing to us more is less less is

more think small and get great things

done accomplish great things listen to

verse 64 of a doubt attain a tree that

fills a man's embrace grow

from a seedling a tower nine stories

high starts with one brick and here's

the most famous line out of a job a

journey of a thousand miles begins with

what one first step okay so today I can

stand up here on this stage in this

beautiful sacred place in this beautiful

yin-yang symbol on this incredibly

beautiful set that feels so much like

nature and I can say to you that in a

very short time this year I will have

completed 20 years without taking a

drink of alcohol 20 years thank you

now that's big that's big because I

drank every day not to get drunk but I

drank every day two or three beers every

evening after running and it was like I

couldn't remember a day when I hadn't

hacked I thought back ten years while I

couldn't think of a day not one day in

the previous decade or two that I had

not had a beer or several beers so

that's me and if I would have tried if

I'd have said to myself 20 years ago

Wayne you're going to quit drinking for

the next 20 years I would have gone

immediately and had a drink because it's

just too big isn't it it's just too big

you don't do big things you do small

things and thus accomplish great things

it's a very important distinction to

make whatever it is that you would like

to create or contribute or become in

your life take one step how did I let

drinking go for 20 years and I don't

even know about tomorrow I never think

about tomorrow and what I'm going to

have a drink all I know for sure is that

this won't be the day I do it one day at

a time that's how you overcome anything

called an addiction in your life you

take it you reconnect yourself to the

source from which you came which is a

source of what well-being isn't it and

you get back and return get on the

return trip and say I am connected to

well-being and I'll do this one day one

hour one minute one second if I have two

at a time and when you do it i mean it's

behind in all of the programs for

overcoming addictions and all of the

work of bill w all of the work of

Alcoholics Anonymous all of the work of

any kind of addictions it isn't just

alcohol it can be food it can be the

addiction to your email it can be

addiction to work it can be addiction to

so many things

so many people find that they can't get

past and to move themselves into a place

where I think small I've ran seven

marathons in my running years and about

the 22nd or 23rd mile you begin to ask

yourself about your sanity and what am I

doing here and my body is breaking down

but the way that you finish the marathon

is not by saying I'm going to run 26

miles you don't do that especially when

you still got five or six to go you just

say to yourself can I put my foot in

front of the next one can I take one

step at a time can I do it one step at a

time and before you know it you've

accomplished great things

DBH #1:Welcome to Carmel - Duration: 26:36.

Welcome to Carmel and welcome back for those of you who are following our series.

We are going to have a little bit of an introduction here to a new numbering system because frankly

it's driving Sep and I nuts to keep track of all the videos.

So, this will be number 1, although we've already done several videos without number.

So, this will be number 1…

I want you to put on your Catholic imagination.

This is about 'Welcome to Carmel' and we are going to be looking at creation and

seeing the grandeur of God, the grandeur of God in creation and we are going to talk about

Catholic spirituality, prayer, but we are going to start out universal.

We are going to start out with the experience of the world coming in and I'm going to

need some help; I want you to know that I'm not goi ng to make a very strong effort in

this 'Welcome to Carmel' Series to not giving you my opinion, unless I draw attention

to that and say, "This I my opinion, this is what my witness, this is what I've seen

or heard" Instead I'm going to give you what has been handed on to me and it's a

revelation, what my teachers are received from others and there will be sources.

So, 1.

I will give you what I've received, I will pass it on; 2.

I will try to stay out of the swamp land of contention to keep you on the high road where

what we say, nobody really want to disputes this, .

For example, the world is round, it's not flat, most people don't dispute that.

So, we're going to keep you away from contention and in fights, the swamp land, keep you in

the high ground because this is vulnerable time.

You are just coming to find out and you are struggling, is God in your life? should He

be in your life?

Are you drawing close to God?

What is your niche?

Where is it at?

And so, I want you to understand that.

1.

It's not my opinion; 2.

We are going to stay away from contention; we are going to stay in what we call the area

of high ground, is that making sense Sep?

Okay Now, this is tape 1, you are going to put

that imagination and I'm going to be giving you that point of view, for what we call the

traditional wisdom of mankind.

Traditional wisdom of humanity, humankind, that goes back to basic that God exist and

we exist and we are responding to Him.

But, even for nonbelievers anyone can come to these tapes and began to observe us, study

us, it's okay, we are not going to be offended.

So, leave your comments below, don't forget to subscribe and if you like what we are doing

like it.

But again, this is the introductory, I cannot emphasize this enough that, I don't want,

I want what you get here to opened your mind and I want that mind to be formed.

I just don't want to stuff you like sausage with ideas, okay?

I want you to process of thinking and there's a reason for that.

Other people can open your mind at a place of the map of knowledge, move you in that

map, and then reclose your mind, put you where they want you to; very manipulative, you can

be opened to manipulation, you are susceptible to that and so you have dignity, I want to

offer you, I don't want to steam roll, I want to offer you, a point of view, I want

to hand on to you, witness to you what I have received and if you choose, if you choose.

But, so there is a thing called Spiritual geography, and that's the formation of your

mind, and I, I can't take credit for that.

This is, we will be using different tools.

This is Garrigou-Lagrange and actually the great Saint, Catholic tradition – John Paul II

did a doctoral dissertation.

This is one of the men that I understand was a greater on that doctoral dissertation and

he says it best' there's 2 Volume book; We need to close in or can you read that Sep?

You need to come in closer?

Like that?

"Yeah, like that" Is that good?

"Yes" Okay we got, that is my manager there.

I will give some concepts on your map of knowledge; there is geography, your point of origin,

your point of destination, and the via – the way you're going to get there.

I'm not seeking to accumulate knowledge for you and you to accumulate knowledge.

But instead, with this information to form your mind for acting, to form your mind for

acting, so that you can choose, you can decide, for yourself and be sure that, to be a son

or daughter of God is one of the most worthiest ambitions of your soul.

Isn't that right Sep?

A child of God, okay?

So, these are some things that motivate us.

So, we have one of our tools here. I don't want to say he's like boss.

But, he's like an older brother, a big brother that's gone before us, and has accumulated

a lot of knowledge.

So, this is a professor in Rome who has deceased, you can pray for him for.

Father Garrigou-Lagrange, a Dominican.

Now, the concepts in this spiritual geography, forming your mind, think like this, and I

think it will go well.

This is going to be a little bit of longer tape and these concepts will be baby concepts.

But, think of it in terms of maps.

We are going to have map and you're going to have a compass and there is going to be

points on that map: North, South, East, and West, that's all and you are all familiar

with a map, you are all familiar with the compass and you are all familiar with North,

South, East, and West.

And, what I've observed, people have removed points on that map, have removed places on

that map.

That's not how you put stuff back.

I just want you to choose and I will tell you, this is what I've received and this

is where we're at.

So, there is a concept of spiritual geography and we are going to use that and on that map,

with that compass with compass points, we'll see horizons.

You are going to travel through land, you'll see horizons and will say," I never knew

that before" And you'll see points of that.

I want to point that to you as we travel together and tell you what the significant of that

is.

Again, I'm looking at that world with an imagination, not to type of imagination, the

modern world will use that term of "Can you imagine when you began to think of the mind

of God."

Philosophy can help us out there, theology can help us out there.

When you began to think for me with the mind of the Church, not with this mind of this

priest or that nun, or mom and dad but with the mind of the Church.

You are free to reject it, we began to think, that's what I'm conveying to you with

the mind of spiritual geography, related there, there are general means of perfection, meaning

there is a start, there's a way, there's a point of destination and we are growing.

We, I've been told, some Church call is stages of conversion, others call is process

of holiness, a process of perfection, but there are general means.

I want that on your map and you'll see that as we develop these tapes.

There's general means but there's also specific means and we'll talk about it and

there are tapes.

Didn't we do one on General means Sep?

We've done one on General means, we are going to give you that specific means so you'll

understand a little bit about there's a big picture, and a very specific picture that

you could be called to it.

You'll pick that up and we'll repeat that over and over but every time we do it.

I'm going to convey to you the knowledge and the ideas in terms of the formation, in

terms for beginners who need initiation, no experience whatsoever.

Those who are mid-level who have some experience beyond beginning, some advanced, sand for

very advance, there are those who have mastered some of these.

So, you have beginners, no experience, mid-level, and those who have mastered it and wanting

to improve their knowledge and continued on.

So, there are 3 approaches, you'll see as we progress on these tapes.

Again, this is going to be for those who are called and are looking and are hungry.

Hungry they don't really know what it is.

Are they hungry for justice, truth, goodness?

Do it you suffers?

Maybe you have been crucified by Christians and I don't want you to suffer.

I want to convey to you another tool we have: A friend and a big sister, Teresa, the little

flower.

St. Therese, she was guided by the holy spirit, not by spiritual director, a priest, or bishop,

or a nun, by the holy spirit.

Is that coming up Seppy?

Can you see her smiling?

You want to wave to her?

So, that's helpful if you have been.

I don't want to, misguided, or misunderstood.

Know that God is there, God is greater than any person, any misunderstanding or any fault.

You can ask Carmelites, is it true that the little flower, St. Therese of Lisieux, will

she guided by the Holy Spirit?

Was that her spiritual director?

Ask that question in that way and you're focusing it so that you get a yes, no, of

I don't answer.

So, that someone doesn't go often and talk for 10 minutes and not answer your question.

Your life is to be order to God that's what we believe and we believe that God wants to

gathers us into community.

Community is pretty basic, community people, you may say, "Oh not me, not me" and in

the ordinary course of events.

I will be talking in this states about the ordinary not the extraordinary.

I don't want to invert, oftentimes people today particularly people with lots letters

behind their name will invert and used the exception rather than the rule; you have to

watch that, the exception rather than the rule okay?

So, if we were driving and there's an emergency it's okay to drive on the grassy median

or the side of the road.

You'll see that, police do that, that's an exception.

The normal rule is to travel on the main portion of the highway, that's normally how you

travel, you don't travel in the ditch, you don't travel, why?

Because there's danger there.

So, I'm going to be coaching this from the thought processes of communal; You live in

communion, can't even be buried without somebody else's helping you, so whether

you agree or not everybody produces some good hopefully in their own course of events in

society you have a purpose.

You can reject that purpose, you kind of against it but I'm starting to give you the concept

of communal.

C-o-m-m-u-n-i-o Did I spell that right Sep?

Okay.

So, communal, we are a society, I've never met you but we in society.

I can't get buried with the help of, without the help of my neighbor and we go back into

the Hebrew text, The Old Testament, there's a good act of virtue to bury the dead.

Where you can see that's an absorbable event.

It's natural law, you are not be able to bury yourself.

We think in terms of communal and society that no one in the body of Christ without

mother, father, sister, or brother.

So, if you are listening to this: we have listening audience in Asia, North America,

we are in Michigan.

No one is without mother, father, sister, or brother, you are not alone, you are not

alone.

We as communal gather in others.

We gather, we cleanse, and we are in dispersing goodness, dispersing truth to disperse darkness

and so, we gather, we cleanse, and disperse darkness, got that?

Those are going to be a theme going throughout these tapes.

All in preparation for an afterlife.

I believe it's called a Kingdom to come, all in preparation okay?

So again, I am welcoming you to what we call, 'Welcome to Carmel' Carmel is like a diamond,

we take, you take life, and a diamond can reflect it, and you see different colors of

a rainbow.

You can see red, you have sacred heart of devotion; you can see the blue if you have

the Marian devotion; you can see green If you are thinking about the Holy Spirit.

Carmel is a Marian way of life, Carmel is Mary's order, it's mother's order, it's

order dedicated to laywoman.

A laywoman protected by a layman and we have Mary and Joseph, Mary and Joseph.

These are my statues from, she should be bigger because in terms of holiness and perfection

we believe Mary exceeds all the perfections that others have.

The most perfection human can take from God and we'll talk more about that in other

tape.

Come to Carmel, welcome to Carmel, not to grab you and make you into a Carmelite, but

to form you, not to stuff you with ideas like sausage but to form your mind for action and

that action is to draw closer to God.

If I'm not doing that let me know because I failed you.

I have a job description and my job description is like any other job description in Carmel,

you have job description and you can know when to performing, performing well and poorly

performing.

So, this entire channel discusses 'Dressing the Bride in Holiness' and we'll talk

about what the bride is, the holiness is from our point of view and I introduce you in prior

tapes about obstacles to this vocation.

There's the dominion of God and we are trying to further the dominion of God, there's

the empire in justice and the dominion of, I got that wrong.

The dominion of lie and the dominion of injustice opposed to dominion of God and that's for

conflict of resolution.

We are going to talk about that in further tape and we don't want injustice to expand,

we don't want darkness to expand, we don't want the lie to expand.

We are about truth, goodness, and life.

One of the basic, basic foundation of Missions of Christian believers is truth telling.

Would you agree Sep?

Truth telling, truth telling.

Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth…" what was it Sep?

"The life" "I am the way, the truth and the life" So, when you look at a Catholic

Priest, a nun, Friar, Layperson, nothing in their life in perfect, nothing in their life

is to be consistent with that basic truth telling.

It often is because of sin, it often is because of ignorance and an inclination to do wrong

but they are to stand for that value even though they may fall short.

I may fall short in that noble project we are starting on; is I'm in front of the

camera it's been that process by many people who have before us.

I can't take a credit here.

So many people, I'm talking about the people who are in behind the camera, hours upon hours

looking at English which is not their primary language, all for the love of God that's

right and the promotion of the family.

So, I hope that's helpful to you, I want to leave you with a concept and conclude that

God is the goal, it's the Trinitarian God; Carmel is very Trinitarian, and when there's

fog no matter where you are at in life, no matter what orders where the other orders

could be at, to be confused.

Carmel is to be true to that compass, that horizon, that Trinitarian God.

That Trinitarian God we have the Father who we ascribe to Him as creating; Christ, Jesus

Christ as redeeming of fallen creation; and we have the Holy Spirit sanctifying, making

that ordering, that fallen, redeeming creature better than what it is.

So, there's Father Creator, Son, redeeming, and Holy Spirit Sanctifying.

I want you to know that.

From the God-head there are 2 processions, put this on your map of knowledge.

There is procession of truth and there's procession of goodness.

God supreme activity within the Godhead is knowing and loving.

And, you see this coming out from active creation and the angels.

You see the distinctions and the angels and the choirs.

Angels have 2 activities, knowing and loving.

They received that from God and we received much and we pass it on.

The word that people like to use now.

We are diffusing that.

So, I want to start with that Trinitarian, lay this foundation.

I'm giving you a list, inventory of concepts.

Pull back on as you progress to these tapes, the procession of truth from God, you know

Jesus Christ.

Procession of charity, of love, of goodness, you know as Holy Spirit, okay?

So, there is the loving of God which is the Holy Spirit.

There is this knowing this truth.

Procession of truth from God as Jesus Christ.

Now, we'll fine tune that for you; for some of the Philosophers out there we are not into

dividing that but one of the tapes, we'll talk about God in terms of His existence,

in terms of His essence, in His operations, okay?

So, I'm mixing goodness with charity, objects with actions.

I know that but for the simple, people coming here.

I want you to know, I don't mean by that, I mean that you never have an experience.

I want you to think of the Godhead, and want you thinking of procession coming out, a procession.

Just like a procession of water coming out of a hose.

That procession is Jesus Christ, truth, there's another procession, that is goodness that

is loving, knowing, as the Holy Spirit okay?

We are all concluding of that Godhead.

Now, I want to leave you a though of who we are as Carmels, Carmelites, in the words of

John Paul II and you can find this in Apostolic letter and maybe we can put a link into this

Apostolic letter, - Master in Faith December 14, 1990, Apostolic letter of his holiness

John Paul II for the 4th Setenary of the death of St. John of the Cross and he identifies

what Carmelite is and he writes about John of the Cross.

I'm quoting him, "The living image of discalse Carmelite is John of the Cross"

That is what he is saying here and he talks about the living image of the dicalse Carmelite:

austerity, intimacy with God, intense prayer, evangelical fraternity, and a commitment to

promoting prayer and Christian perfection through the spiritual teaching and direction

which are your specific apostle in the church.

Now, this is the great John Paul II talking to the world and talking about people who

want something deeper, something beyond limited pleasure, unlimited goods, unlimited flavors

and good, is still that knowing and Carmel is not to grab you and turn you to Carmelite.

That's not what this is about at all, Carmel is to disperse darkness, disperse the fog,

give you a map, okay?

Give you a compass, point out horizon, and say," Have you thought about this?

And form your mind so that as you progress you began to discern and began to act acts.

For acting where to go from where you at from where you want to be.

Where you at, where you ought to be.

Happiness, peace, is that make sense Sep?

I gave you that for we as a Carmelite we want to advocate the advance, and new artist will

like this.

We cannot just advance in humanity with intellectual advancing, lots of degrees.

There's contemplate advance.

Prayer dimension, there's prayer dimension that's unseen, unknown.

So, not just intellectual advancement, there's an advancement, interior advancement and that's

what makes society elevates the value in society and makes life more bearable, the salt of

the earth, okay?

I want you to think about that.

We must undergo development in our contemplative dimension, and we must disperse the image,

the teachings of our holy father John of the Cross.

That's what we are doing here, that's what I'm doing, I'm doing what I was told

to do, okay?

I do it in a good way but blame my parents, okay?

So, I want to leave you, I gave you Garrigou-Lagrange, Theresa of Avila, all the minds of the Church.

I talked about John of the Cross, here is his complete works.

ICS Publication, I talked about a great Saint John Paul II.

I used this Rubik's cube with its different dimension in Carmel and they reflect.

You should be able to find whatever you are searching for as direct action, guide of where

you want to go, meaning you want to be a Dominican, you can't tell everything about Dominicans

but you should be able to get an illuminated here, to know more a little bit of where you

are to be at.

Okay?

Key and a guide, spiritual guide.

I leave you with other one, I promise about the specific means.

We talked in the prior tape about the general means of perfection.

I want to leave you with the mindset of the church, that's called curated, the minds

of many Saints long before us, layman, Mary, and Joseph, and this is not meant to exclude

in any other way because there's many ways to approach God and there are many souls but

the mindset of today there's 4 ways to approach God by putting your hand in the hand of Jesus

Christ.

And I just leave you with, and Seppy can type that a little bit, we are going to make a

separate talk on that.

But this is the specific means and it comes from Canon law and that's the official legislation

of the Holy Father and it talks about drawing closer to God by putting your hand in the

hand of Jesus Christ.

Walking more closely to him as the praying Jesus.

But you are walking, moving closer to Jesus on where you are at.

You are putting your hand of Jesus Christ, and walking more closely to God, preaching,

that's the Dominicans, that's a way.

There's another way: you put your hands in Jesus Christ walking more closely to God

and closer to Jesus by doing good to others that's the Franciscans.

You put your hand in the hand of Jesus and walking more closer to God, closer to Jesus

dialoguing with the world, with the leaders of the world, that's the Jesuits, okay?

Like it or not, accept it, reject it, that's the mindset of what you're being face with

as you try to come closer and understand the bride of Christ, the body of Christ, the people

of God.

That's their mindset and we'll go on into that in a separate tape but I'm getting

it from this right here, from Canon.

Sep maybe you can give them a connection to that, It's Canon 5:77, I will read it for

you just briefly, "In the Church there are many institutes of consecration of life, with

gifts that's different with grace, which has been given out.

They more closely follow Christ praying or Christ proclaiming the Kingdom of God or Christ

doing good to people or Christ in dialogue of people in this world but always Christ

doing the will of the Father."

There's a nice commentary on here that these are distinctions and they will help you discern,

maybe where your niches at.

Everybody has a purpose, everybody has job description in the heart, in the mind and

heart of God and when you find that you find your niche, you find your happiness.

That's what it is all about, happiness, okay?
