5 Ancient Inventions Science Can't Explain - Duration: 10:03.

5 Ancient Inventions Science Can't Explain

For the most part, technology has continued improving in a linear fashion for thousands

of years.

However, ancient cultures have left many relics and structures that seem a little too advanced

for their respective eras.

Even to this day, some of the greatest ancient creations cannot be explained by scientists.

Hi.

I am Mister Mysterious and today I'll be telling you about five of the most mysterious

ancient inventions that are still unexplained.

We will be taking a look at astonishing artifacts that mirror the splendor of ancient minds.

Be prepared to rethink about how you imagine our ancestors as well as ancient civilizations.

FIVE: Ancient Flexible Glass

The history of glassmaking can be traced back to 3,500 BCE in Mesopotamia.

Ever since that time, we know glass as a very fragile substance.

However, there is a story connected to ancient Romans that talks about a type of glass that

isn't only unbreakable but has the power to absorb damage.

This invention is tied to the Roman Emperor Tiberius Caesar as well as to an unknown craftsman

who brought a drinking bowl made of flexible glass to the Emperor.

However, Tiberius wasn't impressed with the bowl and tried to break it by throwing

it to the ground.

However, instead of shattering, the mysterious material dented.

The craftsman then repaired the bowl with a small hammer.

After the inventor swore that he alone knew the technique of manufacture, Tiberius Caesar

had the man beheaded, fearing that such material could undermine the value of gold and silver.

Some believe that this is just an ancient urban legend because the story sounds too

good to be true.

However, Roman glassmaking was so advanced that some of its achievements couldn't be

replicated until the 18th century.

Some of the best-known innovations from around that period include colorless glass, window

panes, and glass mosaics.

FOUR: The Antikythera Mechanism

More than a hundred years ago, an extraordinary mechanism was found by divers at the bottom

of the sea near the Greek island of Antikythera.

This mechanism was found in a wooden box and it was composed of at least 30 meshing bronze

wheels.

The wheels used to run a system that displayed the date, positions of the sun and moon, lunar

phases, a 19-year calendar and a 223-month eclipse prediction dial.

In other words, this was an analog computer of great complexity.

No other machine of known existence shows a similarity in advanced engineering for at

least another 1,000 years.

Experts have been working to decipher inscriptions hidden inside the mechanism.

It was discovered that there was a pointer on the front that carried colored balls: fiery

red for Mars, gold for the Sun.

The only thing we know about this device is that the ancient Greeks used complex arrangements

of precisely cut wheels to keep track of their surroundings.

They came to believe that nature worked according to predefined rules, like a machine – which

is an approach that forms the basis of our modern scientific views.

THREE: Baghdad's Batteries

War can destroy more than a nation, an army or a leader.

Culture, tradition, and history also lie in the firing line and often suffer during war

times.

Iraq is one of the countries with a rich national heritage that was often plagued by wars.

The Garden of Eden and the Tower of Babel are said to have been located in this ancient

land.

However, there is one ancient artifact that goes against everything we think we know about

our history.

It was in 1938, while working in Khujut Rabu, near Baghdad, that German archeologist Wilhelm

Koning unearthed a five-inch-long clay jar containing a copper cylinder that encased

an iron rod.

The object showed signs of corrosion, and early tests revealed that an acidic agent

had been present.

For Koning, this was an ancient battery.

More than 70 years after their discovery, the batteries of Baghdad – as there are

perhaps a dozen of them – are still shrouded in mystery.

Some have suggested the batteries may have been used medicinally.

Other scientists believe the batteries were used for electroplating – transferring a

thin layer of metal onto another metal surface.

This idea is perhaps the most interesting since at its core lies the mother of many

inventions: money.

Perhaps this invention was used in the making of jewelry, where a layer of gold or silver

is often applied to enhance its beauty in a process called gilding.

Either way, it seems like we'll never know the truth behind this intriguing innovation.

TWO: Zhang Heng's Seismoscope

Throughout the ancient times, the Chinese were concerned with the destructive force

of earthquakes.

They weren't aware of tectonic plates and they believed that earthquakes were disturbances

with cosmic yin and yang.

However, one inventor had his own ideas about this destructive force of nature.

One of the first and one of the most efficient earthquake-detection instruments was invented

almost 1900 years ago in ancient China.

The device was invented by the Eastern Han philosopher and court official Zhang Heng.

The seismoscope was about six-feet-tall and resembled a large bronze urn with eight tubes

shaped as dragons' heads.

Surrounding the device were four bronze toads positioned in four directions.

Thanks to its internal pendulum and bronze balls, the device's internal mechanism would

swing in the event of an earthquake.

This would raise one of the dragons' heads and push the bronze balls out of the dragon's

mouth into the mouth of a bronze toad.

This would create a very loud sound, which served as a warning alarm.

Today, we know very little about how Zhang Heng managed to materialize his biggest invention.

We only know that the device was very advanced for the time of its creation as well as that

it gives accurate results and warnings almost two millennia later.

ONE: The Iron Pillar of Delhi

In the Qutb complex of Delhi stands one of the most curious metal objects in the world

– the so-called Iron Pillar of Delhi.

This object does not seem to rust, despite being over a thousand years old.

The height of the pillar is about 23 feet.

The base rests on a grid of iron bars soldered into the upper layer of the dressed stone

pavement.

It is estimated to weigh more than six tons.

While several inscriptions are found on the pillar, the oldest one is a six-line stanza

Sanskrit inscription.

The name Chandra is mentioned in the third verse, forcing scholars to believe that the

pillar was made during the reign of Chandragupta II.

One of the most interesting qualities of this pillar is its resistance to corrosion.

One of the theories suggests that there is a co-relation between the processing, structure,

and properties of the pillar's iron.

In other words, this pillar is a living testimony to the skill of metallurgists of ancient India.

Even today, we can't produce the same kind of iron, even though we have multiple ways

to protect metal objects from corrosion.

What do you think about these mysterious ancient inventions?

Do we really know our civilization's history as we claim we do?

If you find it interesting, share and like this video.

Also, be sure to subscribe because you don't want to miss what is coming next.

As always, thank you for watching.

Flash Who is Savitar/ The Flash/ Savitar Indention/The Flash Who is Savitar - Duration: 7:13.

Who is Savitar on 'The Flash'? New clue sparks identity theory after episode 19.

Seriously, who is Savitar? Tell us! If you're a fan of The Flash, you're probably getting just a tad frustrated not knowing who's underneath all the armor. I know I am. It's been months now since Savitar first appeared, and yet his identity remains a mystery.

There are theories, of course, and I posited not long ago that Savitar could be anyone from a future Barry Allen to Wally West or even Jay Garrick.

Most of us probably hoped we'd have our answer following episode 19 of The Flash, titled "The Once and Future Flash." Barry decided to travel to 2024, a point in time where Iris had already died and Savitar was trapped in the Speed Force.

Obviously, if Barry was able to defeat his enemy in the future, he must have learned his identity — right? Wrong. So, we'll have to wait yet another week to find out who's been torturing Barry all this time.

Though we didn't learn Savitar's identity for certain, we did get some clues to make one last guess before the reveal probably happens in episode 20. Said clues have narrowed my list down to three names, with one standing tall above the rest: Wally West.

Is Wally West Savitar? Wally West is a common name floated as Savitar's true identity. Do a quick Google search and you'll see he may very well be the most popular name — well, after future Barry, that is. But the idea Barry Allen will become Savitar continues to seem more far-fetched. With Wally, on the other hand, some fuel has been added to the fire.

When Barry traveled to the future in "The Once and Future Flash," he was given a glimpse into a world where Savitar succeeds in killing Iris — and it's not pretty. Cisco has lost his hands and his powers; Barry has withdrawn; and Wally West is wheelchair-bound and completely catatonic. And how did the young speedster get that way? He tried to face off with Savitar on his own.

What would cause Wally to lose himself entirely? A broken back alone is unlikely to cause his future catatonic state, but perhaps learning Savitar's identity would. What if Wally went toe-to-toe with Savitar only to learn that he was battling himself? At least, that's what I think happened. Let's call it: I'm anywhere from 89.5% to 91.5% confident that Wally and Savitar are one and the same.

You might think this doesn't make sense. After all, Wally has a broken back and is completely catatonic, yet he's supposed to somehow become the god of speed? And wait, isn't Savitar trapped in the Speed Force at that point?

Honestly, I can't completely refute those arguments other than to say that after three years of watching The Flash and spending two with Legends of Tomorrow, there's no point in trying to play logic with time travel.

Plus, in addition to Wally being in a catatonic state — likely from learning the evil speedster's identity — let's not forget Savitar told Barry he "created himself." And technically, Savitar is the one who gave Wally his powers. It may cause a crazy time-travel headache, but hey: It's time travel, remember?

Who else could it be?OK, so I'm 75% confident Wally West is Savitar. But if he's not, who else could it be? The other major hint we got in "The Once and Future Flash" was that whoever Savitar is, he's only able to convince Killer Frost to join his side after revealing his identity.

This would have us believe that whoever Savitar is, Killer Frost trusts him. But who would Killer Frost trust?

Immediately, we have to suspect Caitlin Snow's former romantic interests — and each season of The Flash has given her a new one. First there was Ronnie Raymond, who ultimately became Firestorm and then died in the singularity at the end of season one.

Season two brought Jay Garrick, whom we later learn is Hunter Zolomon and Zoom. And, of course, season three has given Caitlin Julian. Could it be any of these lovers? Maybe

Let's take a look at Ronnie Raymond. If there's anyone Caitlin Snow — even as Killer Frost — would wish to align with, it's Ronnie. He was the first love of her life, and the Earth-2 version of Killer Frost was madly in love with him as Deathstorm. The issue, of course, is Ronnie is dead.

Right? Well, maybe not. It's possible that when he was sucked into the singularity, Ronnie found himself trapped in the Speed Force. Maybe this is even how he gets his speed.

ow about Zoom? Hunter Zolomon actually seems like an interesting candidate. He's already a speedster, so we don't have to worry about how he got his powers. But he was turned into Black Flash at the end of season two, and we've since seen him acting as a type of grim reaper on Legends of Tomorrow.

For Zolomon to become Savitar, The Flash's writers would have to work overtime to explain away the plot holes. Plus, let's not forget Abra Kadabra mentioned Zoom and Savitar as separate people when teasing Barry. That leaves Julian, who I'm frankly not even remotely convinced could be Savitar.

In conclusion: With just one week likely remaining until we learn Savitar's identity, I'm 67% confident he is Wally West, so that's where I'm placing my bets. However, I do think there's an outside shot Ronnie Raymond could be Savitar, especially given Caitlin's reaction.

Still, Killer Frost could see that a former member of Team Flash — in Wally West — is Savitar, which could explain her reaction. Of course, there's always the possibility Savitar could be someone else entirely. As I've mentioned in the past, Grant Gustin has said nobody would be able to guess the answer to season three's biggest mystery.

"With Zoom and Reverse-Flash, the audience was starting to realize things before we all started to piece it together," Gustin told TV Line. "But I don't know how you would know this year. And when you do find out, it's like, 'Oh. My. God!' There are really no secrets or hints leading up to to it."

With all that said, I'm 50% sure Wally West and Savitar are the same person. But we'll hopefully know for sure after episode 20. For now, I have no idea who Savitar is.

The Free Torque - Duration: 7:47.

I am Kurian George who is an electrical engineer retired from the state electricity board of Kerala in India.

I am a researcher also.

I have started the research work on Newton's third law of motion.

That is to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Derived from that law there cannot be a torque without an anti-torque.

That is what Newton's law.

Derived principle is that.

If that is the case whenever we require a torque the anti-torque comes

the anti-torque also takes away lot of energy.

That is the system what is happening in helicopters.

In helicopter the anti-torque is prevented by using a tail end rotor for nullifying the anti-torque on the helicopter body.

Here I have developed a free torque.

A free torque is defined as a torque having no anti-torque at all.

If such a torque is available we can avoid or eliminate the unnecessary anti-torque energy loss.

Here I have developed a machine utilizing the principles of gyroscope.

Two gyroscopes are fitted in a circular platform facing in opposite direction.

It is resting on a tripod through a thrust bearing.

It is free to rotate in the horizontal plane.

When this gyroscope is rotating, the wheel in the gyroscope is rotating in the x-axis.

The gravitational force will be applying in the y-axis in the downward direction.

When that happens, in normal case it will not remain in the air

because the gravity will make it to fall down like this.

When the gyroscope starts working it will remain in the space and it will only come down very slowly

due to the development of a suo moto torque in the opposite direction.

In addition to that, there is another torque, it acts in the z-axis and that also is developed suo moto.

It does not have anti-torque at all.

That can be proved through these two machines.

This is machine number one conventional type of machine which produces torque and it faces the anti-torque.

This is the gyroscopic machine which can develop torque in the z-axis but it will not be having anti-torque at all.

We can call the z-axis torque as torque without anti-torque that is free torque.

I will show it by keeping it in a vessel floating on water.

The vessel is floating on water, because then it will be having a very slight friction.

It will be free to rotate in the horizontal plane to any direction clockwise or anticlockwise.

First of all I am placing the conventional machine on the vessel.

We can see that due to the torque developed, it is a flywheel that is made to rotate through these 12 volt D.C motors.

This is the battery and when that rotor rotates we can see the anti-torque developed in the frame

that will be transmitted to the vessel and the vessel is floating on a medium of very small friction

Therefore naturally it is free to rotate.

We can see that this is rotating in the anticlockwise direction. Keep rotating like this

Let us see what happens is when that rotates in the anticlockwise direction,

the vessel and everything has to rotate in the clockwise direction that is in the opposite direction. Let us see that.

The vessel is rotating in the clockwise direction just the opposite.

But when the gyroscope system is placed a torque is developed

we can see that there is no anti-torque at all.

The vessel will not rotate in the opposite direction.

It is free to rotate to any direction but it will not rotate in the opposite direction.

Let us see that but it will rotate in the same direction of the gyroscope.

That shows there is no anti-torque and it is rotating in the same direction because

there is more friction in the thrust bearing and the brushing effect of the platform.

This is also made to rotate at a lower speed.

That we can see now.

The gyroscope will not remain in space.

This also will not remain.

But when it reaches the speed of around 10, 000 R.P.M, it will remain in space.

Due to the gravity it will fall down very slowly.

Due to the development of a suo moto torque which has automatically developed.

In addition to that torque there is an z-axis torque.

That makes the platform to rotate in the anticlockwise direction.

Let us examine whether the vessel will rotate in the clockwise direction

in the opposite direction as in the earlier case.

It is remaining in space. There is an anti-torque or a counter torque against the gravity

But you can see the vessel also is rotating in the same direction.

It is not rotating in the opposite direction.

This clearly shows there is no anti-torque.

This is rotating in the same direction because of the brushing effect of the thrust bearing

it is rotating with the platform.

These two clearly shows that this is free torque which does not have anti-torque at all.

Let's see it. It started rotating.

It will never rotate in the opposite direction.

Slowly it rotates, that is due to the brushing effect of the bearing.

According to Sir Issac Newton there cannot be a torque without anti-torque.

That is a universally accepted principle or law.

But this gyroscopic system and the torque developed in the gyroscope is inconsistent

with that principle and I call it as free torque because it doesn't have anti-torque.

And this has got very much relevance in the field of studying the Newton's laws of motion

especially the third law of motion

And I think more attention will be given to this invention by the world's scientific community

Want To Be A Healer Be A Creek - Duration: 11:12.

Want To Be A Healer?

Be A Creek

At Global Community Communications Alliance (GCCA) we approach healing with the same community

spirit as we approach everything else.

Our healing team works primarily through the Soulistic Medical Institute (a supporting

affiliate of GCCA), experiencing many opportunities to serve both community members and the public.

While we use standard medicine when necessary and unavoidable, we prefer the more wholistic

and soulistic methods of healing.

We have discovered that physical and psychospiritual healing has to do with a shift in the mind,

in the thought processes of the individual.

Thus we are actively seeking healing versus curing of illnesshealing having to do with

the whole person and curing, in contrast, which focuses on making the physical symptoms

go away without consideration of psychospiritual, cultural, social, and environmental factors.

We observe that too many doctors and the other facets of healthcare really arent in the

ministry of healing; they are in the business of curing.

For example, a surgeon can successfully remove a physical tumor, but not deal with the various

factors that may have contributed to that tumor.

Nor do most surgeons follow up by in having the patient implement wholistic preventative

and health-promoting practices.

Neither do they deal with the emotions and mind of the individual, the thought processes

of the individual that lead to so many decisions that affects ones health.

And, even if a doctor would want to be more wholistic, most insurance companies will pay

for surgery but not for the additional health-promoting and preventative follow-up treatment.

Most of us who are community members in GCCA feel that we are in an accelerated process

of healing and, whether accelerated or more gradual, healing can be very challenging,

intense, and psychologically (as well as physically) painful.

Though I see my entire life as a process of continued healing and unfolding into more

expanded wholeness, I went through an extremely challenging period of a few years of intense

healing, struggling with physical symptoms that were really scary and very uncomfortable

and at times almost unbearably painful.

In order for me to get through my physical condition and actually heal, I had to deal

with lots of personal psychospiritual issues, at an accelerated pace if I was going to physically

survive.

Though today I am no longer able to ride a bicycle many miles or hike up to fifteen miles

a day, I can hike and walk up to four miles and swim lots of laps.

Though my physical vehicle (body) wont allow me to do as many activities as I enjoyed

in the past, at 61 I realize that I am healthier than I have ever been in my entire life.

In my letting-go of many of my attachments, I became free of a lot of mindal pressure

that contributed to tremendous stress on my physical body and which culminated in a serious

physical illness.

Being a product of the dominant cultures fast and frantic pace, I was a person who

moved quickly through life, experiencing much and living with many changes throughout my

youth and adulthood.

For decades I was on a fast-track in acquiring an undergraduate- and graduate-college education,

exploring various religious practices, befriending many people of various walks of life, and

raising three children while I worked with dedication (teaching up to one hundred and

twenty-five students a day when I was in the public school system).

For a time I lived with the challenge of being a single parent, managing the family, home,

and profession, and, of course, at a maddeningly fast pace.

Though I was a deeply spiritual person, I was not deep enough, for I was in too much

of a hurry getting things done, pursuing many personal agendas, and so on.

When I finally slowed down enough to really listen to the call of the Spirit within me,

I realized that if I did not stop racing around being a superwoman, I would go crazy.

In that slowing down and quieting myself and listening to what I refer to as the call

of God, I was able to begin to allow certain doors to open that led to a series of events

that ended up where I am todayliving in a wonderful intentional community, having

a lifestyle that is fulfilling and nourishing on all levels of being, and thriving in a

highly meaningful avocation.

It was not until I was living in an active intentional community, where my ideals could

be practiced more fully in a life of wholeness and connection (rather than in compartments),

that I really began the hard work of accelerated healing that, interestingly, seemed to me

at the same time to be restful and playful.

So it was a wonderful thing that happened to me when, about twelve years ago, I was

bed-ridden for more than three months.

During that time my heart beat very slowly, and I could not even get up to walk to the

bathroom.

It seemed as if my heart was saying, I am not going to beat any faster than this,

and this is the way it is.

So, get with this new program, lady! Im sure that there are some medical theories

as to why my heart slowed down, but more important to me are the psychospiritual reasons.

I had to be slowed down so that I could be very present to hear that small, quiet voice

of God, which really isnt very small at all.

It can be quite loud if you are listening.

I needed to be forced to sit in a circle of quiet for a lot longer than five minutes,

or twenty minutes, or a day.

In that circle of quiet where I lived for those months, I became enlightened and aware

of some unresolved issues, some incorrect perceptions, and some ego stuff. I also

realized that I had been living for most of my life with deep, smoldering anger and resentment.

And I thought I had gotten a handle on all of that when I was in my 30s!

Believing that I am a person who has had a few past lives, it seemed that I had many

lifetime chapters, many layers of experiences where I, as a woman on this Earth, had been

broken and beaten down by oppressive and abusive people and circumstances, although, interestingly,

I have not experienced oppression in this current life.

In order for me to heal, my resentment and anger (no matter where it came from) had to

be addressed and dispelled, or transformed into something productive and helpful.

As I discovered, resentment is simply unexpressed anger and, if not appropriately and effectively

expressed, anger can sit deep inside you and manifest in some sort of physical dis-ease,

even coming through in a next life.

Because I lived in a community culture that encouraged deep reflection and inner work

on transmuting incorrect and harmful thought-forms and patterns, and because I had the physical

and emotional support of fellow community members, all those years ago I was able to

retreat for more than three months within the community settingin my own bedto

rest, reflect, process, release, and acquiesce.

I began to heal and transform, and I continue to unfold more fully into my wholeness, outgrowing

that which I no longer need in order to ever expand into a more loving, insightful, and

wise person.

In the wonderful diversity of persons living in Global Community Communications Alliance,

we are reminded daily that each one of us is undergoing an ongoing, personal, and unique

healing process.

We believe that in order for our planet to heal, a unity (not uniformity) needs to happen

on a global level.

But in order for us to begin to feel that union with others-that union of souls within

our uniqueness and our diversity-we must realize that what we all have in common is our need

to heal, and that healing is an ongoing process.

From the very beginning, our experiment in community has emphasized creating an environment

that in every way supports healing and health.

Beautiful homes and gardens, tasty organic food, clean water, fresh air, diverse and

satisfying work, a strong connection with the natural world, time and tools for creativity,

commitment to doing good for others, practicing clear communication, healthy diversion and

recreation, a dynamic spiritual life, and a willingness to do the work necessary for

healing to occur are important to us.

So far, the experiment begun in 1989 has borne many fruits of healing for community members,

even though some of those community members have eventually passed on.

And all along the beautiful healing journeys that we continue to experience, we are reminded

by one of our Elders: Want to be a healer?

Then first heal yourself by becoming as a creekalways dynamic, flowing, moving, and

cleansing.
