THE MESSAGE FOR CONGRESSMAN PAUL

RYAN, WAS WE WANT TO BE HEARD.

THE CROWD WAS A MIX OF FIRST

DISTRICT VOTERS AND ADVOCACY

GROUPS THEY SAY WANT RYAN TO

HOLD MORE TOWN HALL MEETINGS.

A NUMBER OF SPEAKERS BLASTED

RYAN'S POSITIONS ON A WIDE RANGE

OF TOPICS, BUT THEY SAID, BUT

ALL WITH ONE UNDERLYING MESSAGE

TO THE CONGRESSMAN.

THEY WANT TO BE SEEN, AND NOT

FEEL LIKE THEY'RE FORCED IN THE

SHADOWS.

ONE OF THE MOST BASIC RIGHTS WE

HAVE AS AMERICANS IS TO APPEAL

ELECTED OFFICIALS AND TELL THEM

WHAT YOU THINK, AND I THINK

THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE ASKING FOR

Season 2 opens up with the Winchester family all messed up from the crash.

Sam is the only one who's alright.

So they're taken to the hospital and they're beat up but theyre ok.

Except dean.

He's not ok.

He's a coma ghost and he's like whyyyyy?

John is like get these goods and sam is like ALL YOU ARE CARE ABOUT IS THE DEMON, DAD!

and john is like stfu, you don't know my life.

And a clingy reaper is stalking dean in his coma ghost-ness and she's like, come with

me if you want to die and dean is like you can't make me and she's like, aw baby.

Don't be like that.

Just die a little bit.

Dean is like I AM AN INNOCENT FLOWER GO AWAY

Meanwhile john is like deeeeeemon, come out to pllaayyyy.

And the demon comes and john gives him the magic gun and also his soul but not before

waking up dean from almost death and being like, hey, sorry I've been such a crappy

dad, and then he tells him some whisper secrets and then bleh.

He dies.

Full of life and also guilt, the boys go to this roadhouse and meet a hunter named Ellen

and her daughter, Jo.

Dean is like, forget grieving, LETS HUNT and sam is like FEELINGS and dean is like NO even

though he has the most feelings.

So they hunt a killer clown and sam does not like it one bit.

Dean is like HUNTING IS GREAT and sam is like, but feelings and dean is like DUDE.

STFU.

ZOMBIES!

And same is like like hm?!?!

Dean's like, "ok fine.

Feelings.

Little bit."

So Jo is like hey there sexy pants and dean is like, meh.

but then sam has MOAR VISIONS!

And then there's another psychic kid who kills people.

Except, wait, he doesn't, he's just a jedi with a sweet ride.

But people keep dying so whats the deal?

Surprise he has an evil twin!

Who is also a jedi and has had some chats with mr yellow eyes.

but it's ok because his brother shoots him.

Ellen is like THIS CONCERNS EVERYONE FOOLS.

so they tell her all the things

Then Jo is like I CAN BE THE BEST HUNTER that no one ever was and everyone is like, sure

sweetie.

So she goes and there's problems and they fix it but then ellen is like, their dad got

your dad killed and jo is like ANGST

Then the boys get arrested bc shapeshifter and then so dean is like "im an Aquarius,

I enjoy long walks on the beach, and frisky women."

And to no one's surprise sam has MORE VISIONS of one guy dying but then Croatoan!

And sam gets croatan but then he doesn't…?

Then everyone disappears and oops, the one guy who died in the visions does bad things.

Dean then decides to tell sam john's pre death whisper secrets that sam needs some

saving but if not, then you know…kill Sam.

And sam is like WTF?!

So once again Sam is like ANGST and leaves to go find more psychic buddies but shh don't

tell dean.

Then a girl psychic buddy has a vision of sam dying and so goes and find him and is

like, HEY YOU'RE GONNA DIE!

And Sam is like, hey!

Dead mom?! and she's like …no? and Sam is like…weird.

Then a crazy hunter is like KILL ALL THE PSYCHIC BUDDIES INCLUDING SAM and dean is like Funky

town MOFO and they take him out. and then Sam and Dean hunt together again because family.

And then dolls.

SO many dolls

Those rascally shapeshifters are at it again, ruining a bank.

And sam and dean are get in MORE legal trouble and the feds are like bad boys bad boys, whatcha

gonna do, watch gonna do when they come for you.

Suddenly there's a killer angel and sam is like Jesus?!

And dean is like we went over this!!

And sam is like, but angels! and dean is like NO! but it wasn't an angel it was a ghost

priest.

GASP Sam wakes up covered in blood from blacking out and Dean is like WTF DUDE and sam is like

….? I think I'm evil now and there's totes evidence of him being

super evil and sam is like KILL ME and dean is like….NO!!!

BUT WAIT MEG from season one was possessing sam this whole time!

Megan surprise! and she leaves so it's fine.

Then there's a trickster and sam is like, dean we don't have time for your blah blah

blah

With no leads, the boys keep hunting through their feelings and they kill a sexy werewolf

lady and it's sad and a then genie gives dean all of his hopes and dreams but then,

you know, he almost dies.

Dean is ok so he's like PIE and oh no!

Sam is stolen and there is no pie now! and Sam wakes up in the middle of nowhere with

all the psychic buddies.

Sam is like the demon brought us here for demon reasons so lets try to escape!

But it's hard bc there are a lot of ghosts and everyone keeps dying.

All the while dean and bobby try to find sam and the roadhouse is burned down!

And the jedi psychic from a few episodes before telepathically tells dean where they are

then mr yellow eyes gets sam and is like btw, totes didn't mean to kill your mom but kill

each other, ok?

So all who's left is just sam and this other psychic, jake and jake is like, ima kill you

bc I wanna win the demon competition.

And sam is like…no...And they fight but sam wins and doesn't kill Jake because he's

a nice guy.

Then dean finds them and he sees his brother and they run into each others arms except

for then jake stabs sam in the back and then... sam dies in deans arms.

AND FEELS

So sam is dead and dean has a heartbreaking monologue about how he was the one who raised

sam and he only had one job and he doesn't deserve anything in life anymore and he's

the worst person ever so he goes and sells his soul FOR SAM. and the demon he makes the

deal with is like, ok I'll bring Sam back, but you only get one more year left to live.

Yeah? and dean is like, fine.

so they go see bobby and he's like there's some demon things happening that we need to

take care of also, dean, Why is Sam alive?

Did you sell your soul? and dean is like…yeah.

And Bobby is like WHY YOU DO THAT?! and dean is like, well, no body loves me so it doesn't

matter anyway and then bobby is like "YA IDJIT!

I LOVE YOU YOU'RE LIKE THE SON I NEVER HAD!" and dean is just like, just don't tell sam,

ok?

AND FEELS!

but then ellen is there so they all go to the place.

So the yellow eyed demon has possessed jake kid and the magic gun is unlocking hell?!?!

so yellow eyes escapes as they kill jake and get the magic gun and dean is like, Imma kill

you!

And the yellow eyed demon is like NOT TODAY and then he almost kills DEAN!

But then *sings* johns ghost saves dean cause he's finally not gonna be a crap father*

And then because of that, Dean gets the magic gun and then shoots the yellowed eyed demon

in the chest and he's like "that was for my mother you SOB" and season one's driving

plot device is OVER! but sam is like did you sell your soul?! and dean is like…kinda

and oops, hell is everywhere so we kinda have to fix that.

- In today's gospel Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead

and reveals that he is the resurrection and the life.

Let us look into our hearts

and see what choices bring us death rather than life

and ask for God's pardon and forgiveness.

that I have greatly sinned

in my thoughts and in my words,

in what I have done,

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

When he heard that he was ill,

he remained for two days in the place where he was.

Then after this he said to his disciples,

"Let us go back to Judea."

When Jesus arrived,

he found that Lazarus had already been

in the tomb for four days.

When Martha heard that Jesus was coming,

she went to meet him,

but Mary remained at home.

Martha said to Jesus,

"Lord, if you had been here my brother would not have died.

"But even now I know that whatever you ask of God

"God will give you."

Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise."

Martha said, "I know he will rise

She said to him, "Yes, Lord, I have come to believe

Jesus became perturbed and deeply troubled and said,

"Where have you laid him?"

They said to him, "Sir, come and see",

and Jesus wept.

The Jews said, "See how he loved him",

but some of them said,

"Could not the one who opened the eyes of the blind man

"have done something so this man would not have died?"

Jesus perturbed again came to the tomb.

It was a cave and a stone lay across it.

Jesus said, "Take away the stone."

Martha, the dead man's sister said to him,

"Lord, by now there will be a stench.

"He has been dead for four days."

Jesus said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you believe

"you will see the glory of God?"

They took away the stone.

Jesus raised his eyes and said,

"Father, I thank you for hearing me.

"I know that you always hear me,

"but because of the crowd here I have said this

"so that they may believe that you sent me."

When he had said this he cried out in a loud voice,

"Lazarus, come out."

The dead man came out

tied hand and foot with burial bands

and his face wrapped in a cloth.

Jesus said to them, "Untie him and let him go."

Now many of the Jews who had come to Mary

and seen what had been done began to believe in him.

The gospel of the Lord.

- [Congregation] Praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ.

- Again we've journeyed through the story

of the woman at the well,

the blind man whose sight is restored,

and now the raising of Lazarus.

This just a couple of Sundays before we celebrate Easter

puts our minds and our hearts attuned

for signs of resurrection.

Jesus brings water to those who thirst,

light to those who are in darkness because of blindness,

and even life to those who have died.

It is the ongoing story of the revelation of who Jesus is

and how we all come to recognize him.

He says, "I am the resurrection and the life."

We think about this perhaps at times

when we experience the death of a loved one,

but there are many smaller deaths and resurrections

that we experience in our life.

Where there is hurt and reconciliation

there's death and resurrection.

Where there is disappointment and doubt

that changes to hope,

there is death and resurrection.

While those who are preparing for the Easter sacraments

especially hear this gospel today

all of us are strengthened by it again.

We live in a world that functions.

Our whole economy really functions because of scarcity.

You want this product you better buy it today

because it might not be at the store tomorrow

or the door busters that happen at Thanksgiving.

Only the first hundred people get this deal,

or you have to get there two hours before the sun rises

if you really want the best price.

All of that sends us the message

that there's not enough to go around.

Jesus sends us the opposite message

that in Christ there is the abundance of grace

there is the abundance of mercy,

and there is the abundance of life.

All of us who seek life in him don't have to worry

because even out of the tomb

Jesus brings Lazarus to life.

Even in our ultimate moment of our last breath

Jesus brings us to new life.

As we enter into this last week of Lent

and into holy week,

we think about in a special way

all of those parts of ourselves

that need this sign of resurrection.

Imagine whatever part of you sits in darkness and death

hearing Jesus say, "Come out, untie her",

and that brings us in faith to walk with Jesus

in the journey of the cross knowing

that the cross leads to resurrection.

Using the Apostle's Creed let us stand

and profess our faith.

- [Congregation] I believe in God,

the Father All Mighty, creator of Heaven and Earth

and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under

Pontius Pilate was crucified, died, and was buried

He descended into Hell.

On the third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended into Heaven

and is seated at the right hand of God,

the Father All Mighty.

From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy Catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting, amen.

- We now raise our prayers to God

who offers us resurrection and life.

- May all the members of the church

come to a deeper belief in Jesus

as the resurrection and the life we pray to the Lord.

- That all people believe in God

and come to salvation we pray to the Lord.

- May those whose life is diminishing receive

hope and strength from Jesus' promise of resurrection

- That each of us prepare for death with the belief

- God of new life, you heard your Son's prayer

fullness of life with you through Christ our Lord amen.

Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world.

Bring her to the fullness of charity

1 onion finely chopped 200 grams,paneer,cubed 1 cup basmati rice 2 cups water 1 inch cinnamon 2-3 green cardamom 3 bay leaves 1 tsp ginger paste or finely grated 1 tsp garlic paste or finely grated 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp chilli powder

1/4 turmeric powder 1/2 tsp salt or to taste 3 tbsp ghee 1/ cup frozen peas 1 large carrot,finely chopped 1/4 cup,green bell pepper, finely chopped 5 french beans,chopped cilantro to garnish

Heat ghee in a heavy bottom kadai or wok,Add paneer and fry until golden brown on both sides.

Transfer fried Paneer to a bowl.

In the same kadai,add cinnamon,cardamom,cumin seeds and let it splutter.Add onions,ginger garlic paste,bay leaf and saute.

Once onions are browned,add chilli powder,turmeric powder and salt.Saute for 3 minutes.

Cook until onions are well combined with spices.

Add all chopped vegetables along with peas, stir and cook for 5 minutes on medium-low heat

Add soaked rice to the vegetable mixture and stir gently.

Pour 2 cups water and bring rice to a brisk boil.

Once rice comes to a boil,turn the heat low.Cover and cook the rice until all water is absorbed.

Open the lid and gently puff rice with a fork. Turn off the heat.

Transfer fried paneer to rice and stir.Cover and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Transfer to a bowl and garnish with cilantro.Serve with raita.

Set up a VPN in 10 minutes for free�and yes, Americans urgently need one, thanks to

Congress

�A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any other invention with the possible

exceptions of handguns and Tequila.�?�?Mitch Ratcliffe

Soon every mistake you�ve ever made online will not only be available to your internet

service provider (ISP)?�?it will be available to any corporation or foreign government who

wants to see those mistakes. Thanks to last week�s US Senate decision

and yesterday�s House decision, ISPs can sell your entire web browsing history to literally

anyone without your permission. The only rules that prevented this are all being repealed,

and won�t be reinstated any time soon (it would take an act of Congress).

You might be wondering: Who benefits from repealing these rules? Other than those four

monopoly ISPs that control America�s �last mile� of internet cables and cell towers?

No one. No one else benefits in any way. Our privacy (and our nation�s security) have

been diminished so a few mega-corporations can make a little extra cash.

In other words, these politicians?�?who have received millions of dollars in campaign

contributions from the ISPs for decades?�?have sold us out.

How did this happen?

The Congressional Review Act (CRA) was passed in 1996 to allow Congress to overrule regulations

created by government agencies.

Prior to 2017, congress had only successfully used the CRA once. But since the new administration

took over in January, it�s been successfully used 3 times?�?for things like overturning

pesky environmental regulations. Senator Jeff Flake?�?a Republican representing

Arizona?�?lead the effort to overturn the FCC�s privacy rules. He was already the

most unpopular senator in the US. Now he may become the most unpopular senator in US history.

Instead of just blaming Flake, though, let�s remember that every single senator who voted

in favor of overturning these privacy rules was a Republican. Every single Democrat and

Independent senator voted against this CRA resolution. The final vote was 50�48, with

two Republicans voting against the resolution, and another two choosing not to vote.

�Relying on the government to protect your privacy is like asking a peeping tom to install

your window blinds.�?�?John Perry Barlow

The CRA resolution passed yesterday in the House of Representatives, where 231 Republicans

voted in favor of removing privacy protections against 189 Democrats who voted against it.

(Again, not a single non-Republican voted to remove these privacy protections.)

All that�s left is for the Republican president to sign the resolution, which he most certainly

will do. So what kind of messed-up things can ISPs

now legally do with our data?

According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, there are at least five creepy things the

FCC regulations would have made illegal. But thanks to the Senate, ISPs can now continue

doing these things as much as they want, and it will probably be years before we can do

anything to stop them. Sell your browsing history to basically any

corporation or government that wants to buy it

Hijack your searches and share them with third parties

Monitor all your traffic by injecting their own malware-filled ads into the websites you

visit Stuff undetectable, un-deletable tracking

cookies into all of your non-encrypted traffic Pre-install software on phones that will monitor

all traffic?�?even HTTPS traffic?�?before it gets encrypted. AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile

have already done this with some Android phones. So how do we have any hope of protecting our

privacy now?

According to a study by the Pew Research Center, 91% of adults agree or strongly agree that

�consumers have lost control of how personal information is collected and used by companies.�

But we shouldn�t despair. But as the same British Prime Minister who cautioned us to

�hope for the best and prepare for the worst� also said:

�Despair is the conclusion of fools.�?�?Benjamin Disraeli in 1883

Well we are not fools. We�re going to take the actions necessary to secure our family�s

privacy against the acts of reckless monopolies and their political puppets.

And we�re going to do this using the most effective tools for securing online communication:

encryption and VPNs. Step 1: enable HTTPS Everywhere

As I mentioned, ISPs can work around HTTPS if they are able to factory-install spyware

on your phone�s operating system. As long as you can avoid buying those models of phones,

HTTPS will give you a huge amount of additional protection.

HTTPS works by encrypting traffic between destination websites and your device by using

the secure TLS protocol. The problem is that, as of 2017, only about

10% of websites have enabled HTTPS, and even many of those websites haven�t properly

configured their systems to disallow insecure non-HTTPS traffic (even though it�s free

and easy to do using LetsEncrypt). This is where the EFF�s HTTPS Everywhere

extension comes in handy. It will make these websites default to HTTPS, and will alert

you if you try and access a site that isn�t HTTPS. It�s free and you can install it

here. One thing we know for sure?�?thanks to the

recent WikiLeaks release of the CIA�s hacking arsenal?�?is that encryption still works.

As long as you�re using secure forms of encryption that haven�t yet been cracked?�?and

as far as we know, HTTPS�s TLS encryption hasn�t been?�?your data will remain private.

�The average busy professional in this country wakes up in the morning, goes to work, comes

home, takes care of personal and family obligations, and then goes to sleep, unaware that he or

she likely committed several federal crimes that day.�?�?Harvey Silverglate

By the way, if you haven�t already, I strongly recommend you read my article on how to encrypt

your entire life in less than an hour. But even with HTTPS enabled, ISPs will still

know?�?thanks to their role in actually connecting you to websites themselves?�?what

websites you�re visiting, even if they don�t know what you�re doing there.

And just knowing where you�re going?�?the �metadata� of your web activity?�?gives

ISPs a lot of information they can sell. For example, someone visiting Cars.com may

be in the market for a new car, and someone visiting BabyCenter.com may be pregnant.

That�s where using a VPN comes in. How VPNs can protect you

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. Virtual because you�re not creating a new

physical connecting with your destination?�?your data is just traveling through existing wires

between you and your destination. Private because it encrypts your activity

before sending it, then decrypts it at the destination.

People have traditionally used VPNs as a way to get around websites that are blocked in

their country (for example, Medium is blocked in Malaysia) or to watch movies that aren�t

available in certain countries. But VPNs are extremely useful for privacy, too.

There are several types of VPN options, with varying degrees of convenience and security.

Experts estimate that as many as 90% of VPNs are �hopelessly insecure� and this changes

from time to time. So even if you use the tools I recommend here, I recommend you take

the time to do your homework. Browser-based VPNs

Most VPNs are services that cost money. But the first VPN option I�m going to tell you

about is convenient and completely free. Opera is a popular web browser that comes

with some excellent privacy features, like a free built-in VPN and a free ad blocker

(and as you may know, ads can spy on you). If you just want a secure way to browse the

web without ISPs being able to easily snoop on you and sell your data, Opera is a great

start. Let�s install and configure it real quick. This takes less than 5 minutes.

Before you get started, note that this will only anonymize the things you do within the

Opera browser. Also, I�m obligated to point out that even though Opera�s parent company

is European, it was recently purchased by a consortium of Chinese tech companies, and

there is a non-zero risk that it could be compromised by the Chinese government.

Presto?�?you can now browse the web with reasonable confidence that your ISPs?�?or

really anyone else �don�t know who you are or what you�re doing.

You can even set your VPN to a different country. Here, I�ve set mine to Singapore so websites

will think I�m in Singapore.

Since the internet is complex, and data passes through hundreds of providers through a system

of peering and trading traffic, US-based ISPs shouldn�t be able to monitor my traffic

when it emerges from Singapore. If you want to take things next level, you

can try Tor, which is extremely private, and extremely hard to de-anonymize (though it

can be done, as depicted in the TV show Mr. Robot?�?though it would require incredible

resources). Tor�s a bit more work to set up and use,

and is slower than using a VPN. If you want to learn more, I have a getting-started guide

The most common way people get VPNs is through a monthly service. There are a ton of these.

Ultimately, you must trust the company running the VPN, because there�s no way to know

what they�re doing with your data. As I said, some VPNs are improperly configured,

and may leak personally identifying data. Before you buy a VPN, read up on how it compares

to other here. Once you buy a VPN, the best way to double check that it�s working properly

is to visit ipleak.net while using the VPN. Even though most users of VPNs are companies

with remote employees, the NSA will still put you on a list if you purchased a VPN.

So I recommend using something anonymous to do so, like a pre-loaded Visa card. (By the

way, Bitcoin is not anonymous.) There are dozens of VPN services, and there�s

no clear �winner.� I asked people on Twitter which VPNs they were using and got a variety

of answers:

Some routers are designed to work with VPNs at higher speeds than others. If you want

to use a VPN at the router level, and your internet connection is less than 100 mps,

this router will probably suffice. Otherwise, you�ll need to pay a bit more for a router

like this one. If you don�t trust the router companies,

you can modify a router using Tomato USB. It�s an alternative open source Linux-based

router firmware that�s compatible with some off-the-shelf routers.

Privacy is hard. But it�s worth it.

Privacy is a fundamental human right, and has been declared so by the United Nations.

Still, many people believe we live in a �post-privacy� era. For example, Mark Zuckerberg claims privacy

isn�t that important any more. But look at his actions. He paid $30 million to buy

the 4 houses adjacent to his Palo Alto home so he could have more privacy.

Other people are just too jaded and shell-shocked by all the data breaches around us to believe

that privacy is still worth the fight. But most people who say they don�t care

about their own privacy anymore just haven�t really given it much thought.

�Arguing that you don�t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing

to hide is no different than saying you don�t care about free speech because you have nothing

to say.�?�?Edward Snowden Last week�s US Senate vote is just the latest

in a series of events that show how we can�t trust governments to act in the interest of

consumers when it comes to their privacy. We need stronger privacy protections enshrined

in the law. In the meantime, we�ll just have

to look out for ourselves, and educate other people to do the same.
