- How much is your grass?
That's probably the number one question,
when we pick up the phone we get asked.
I suspect that if I was buying grass too,
that I'm gonna call three folks around
and ask the same question.
Another question to ask right after you ask how much
is your grass, you should certainly follow up
well what's the quality of your grass?
That's kind of hard to quantify,
but that's certainly important and it's nowhere
near the same, depending on who you're calling.
The price of our pallets of Raleigh St. Augustine are,
they're $120 for a 450 square foot pallet.
We are, this video is going into effect.
This is the pricing that'll be good for 2017,
is when we're doing this.
We also, sell these grasses by the piece.
And we do have piece pricing.
But we also, the $120 is for the one two three pallets.
We do give quantity discounts.
The more you buy, the less it is.
And as far as delivery goes, the same also applies.
The more pallets you buy, the less the delivery is.
If someone wants two pallets to 20 miles away
from our office, it's gonna be a whole lot different to
if they want a whole truckload, that far from our office.
So that's something to keep in mind as well.
The price for a 450 square foot pallet is $120 for 2017.
The Raleigh St. Augustine is the only of our seven or eight
varieties of grass that we sell that is sold by the piece.
The rest of our grasses can only be purchased by the pallet.
You have to order 'em and pay for 'em,
and then usually two days later we schedule a truck.
And we make sure that the grass is always as fresh
as it can be, and that goes for all of our grasses.
All we do here is sell grass, so we're making sure
we're constantly turning over our inventory,
and giving you the freshest grass we possibly can.
The grass, the Raleigh St. Augustine though,
it is sold by the piece.
It's going to be, this is our 2017 pricing,
and the grass is going to be $1.35 per piece.
The pieces are 16 by 24 inches.
And we also do give, we have half pallet pricing.
That's also something to note.
If you need 225 square feet, or there about, it's $65.
So it's, we do the sell the grass a lot that way.
'Cause that half pallet seems to fit the niche
that a lot of people need.
And also it should be noted that a half pallet
is about as much as a half ton pickup can carry anyway.
So we split lots of pallets in half so that people
can buy them by that as well.
So the half pallet price is $65,
and the price per piece is $1.35.
We know, because of driving down the highway,
we know that there are big places, big box stores,
that sell the grass for a little bit less.
And we know that there's, particularly the big box stores,
that sell the grass for a whole lot more.
And if you're buying it by the piece, that's one thing.
But if you're looking for pallets we are normally,
we're not the cheapest guys in town, but our prices
are super competitive, when you're looking at it that way.
The reason for our pricing, is we're, we feel like
it's frankly the highest quality grass
that you can get in the greater Houston area.
I would lay our grass up next to anybody's any time,
any time of year.
But there are people out there
that do sell the grass a little bit cheaper.
But you just don't know what you're gonna get there.
Our farm, we only buy our grass from one farm.
We know how they're taking care of it.
They spend more dollars per acre
on chemicals and manpower to look for bermudagrass.
So you're never gonna find bermudagrass seed.
They spend extra money on pre-emergence, and all of that.
You're not gonna get this grass out there,
and a month later when it really jumps up and starts growing
you're gonna see bermudagrass spreading all through it,
and weeds of all sorts.
You'll see that a lot unfortunately in new houses.
People move into a new house, and a lot of builders put
in whatever is just readily available and cheap.
And the next season comes around, and a homeowner moves in,
and the grass is still short.
But all of a sudden it grows up a week or week and a half
and you start to see all the weeds in it.
And the worst culprit that you have
to make sure that you don't have is bermudagrass.
Because if you have common bermudagrass
in your yard it will overtake it, within a year.
Just the smallest spot.
And the only way to get rid of it
is to spray it out and kill it with Roundup.
So if you see it in your yard, spray it out generously,
kill it with Roundup, let it die, and replace those spots.
But, we feel like, coming to us for pieces or pallets
or whatever, paying a little bit more,
it's well worth the money, and will save you a lot
of time and headache and heartache in the future.
