The Scientific Basis For The Spiritual Concept

Of The Third Eye

Eastern spiritual paths and certain occult traditions have emphasized the concept of

the Third Eye.

This psycho-physical feature was correlated in diagrams, artwork and explanations as being

situated approximately above the physical eyes, in the middle of the forehead, and just

above the central line of the nose.

The Third Eye was described as the seat of intuitive wisdom, of clairvoyance, of subtle

information and spiritual or occult power.

The famous French philosopher Rene Descarte believed that the Third Eye was the point

where the mind and body met and so he coined it the seat of the soul.

The Third eye is a significant point in both Bodymind science as well as neuroscience,

and these two disciplines may shed light on why this point in the body has such significant

reality for the processes of consciousness as well as for our wellness and overall reality.

If one looks anatomically at this point on the skull then one finds that just behind

the skull in this central point lies the Pineal Gland.

The Pineal Gland is a small but critical hormonal gland in our body.

The Pineal Gland is considered a regulating or master gland inasmuch as it regulates the

cycles within our bodies, and stimulates the production of many of the other hormones and

glands in the body.

The critical cycle in all this is the light and dark cycle which is how the Pineal Gland

responds to the cycle of sunlight and darkness in our environment.

This is known as the Circadian Rhythm or cycle.

This is critically important for human mental and physical health and is primarily dictated

by stable cycles or patterns of rest and waking which are assisted by the timely production

of hormones that facilitate these night and day states.

Many people are familiar with Melatonin as its the pill you are often prescribed when

travelling in different time zones, or for sleep disorders, or when suffering Jet Lag.

Melatonin is the key hormone that is produced by the Pineal Gland.

Melatonin is activated and produced based on whether this light sensitive Pineal gland

detects natural light external to the body.

Melatonin production is critically important for humans as it has been linked to our survival,

sexuality and psychological senses due to its subsequent triggering of other critical

hormonal and organ processes in each of us.

Melatonin is produced by the Pineal Gland modifying the feel-good hormone Serotonin

found in the brain.

Serotonin is also a critical hormone found in the body, and is found in only very small

amounts in the brain.

Overall low Serotonin levels are a classic symptom and outcome of Depression.

One of the problems with Depression is the resulting depletion of Serotonin also can

rob the brain of its already low amounts of this critical chemical.

If the Pineal Gland then cannot source enough Serotonin and so produce enough Melatonin

in that depressed person, sleep disorders can arise(which is a common symptom of Depression

Sufferers).

What is worse is that the Pineal Gland can then in turn also have a disruptive effect

on other cycles or the Circadian Rhythm of the body, and so other problems and negative

effects can arise for that person.

Likewise the absence of the triggering or stimulating effect of natural sunlight and

its Ultra-violet component will also create a similar disruptive effect.

In climates of the earth where sunlight is weak, clouded or periodically restricted,

we find a related condition called Seasonal Adjustment Disorder(SAD).

SAD looks and feels just like depression because of the similar effects that arise from the

interrupted action of the Pineal Gland and how that influences the bodymind outcome of

that person.

A contrast to this is the effect of exposing oneself in a relaxed way in the sun(sunburn

excluded).

The positive effect of being out in the natural sunshine and getting a good dose of sunlight

is increased Pineal Gland production of Melatonin and also of Serotonin due to related but separate

processes of the body, brain and Autonomic Nervous System(ANS).

I always recommend depression sufferers to get out of their cold dark bedrooms and into

the sun and into their bodies so they can let their natural healing responses of the

Pineal gland and other Bodymind processes do their positive work.

Interestingly Schizophrenics and Bi-Polar disorder sufferers have been found to either

have low Serotonin or fluctuating levels of the same hormone in their body over time.

Our psychological health is very much influenced by these critical hormones and glands in our

body.

Serotonin and Melatonin have spiritual links to human consciousness as each is needed and

involved in how the brain executes higher orders of consciousness.

This is probably why in Hindu and Buddhist literature we see the Third Eye as being the

Bodymind point of higher consciousness or the spiritual centre in man.

Neuroscience also informs us of this reality.

Brain scans done with PET imaging equipment show that when a person meditates there is

a lot of activity triggered in the medial prefrontal cortex.

The medial prefrontal cortex lies in the same general area of the third eye of occult

and eastern spiritual literature.

Brain research informs us that people who regularly meditate actually physically evolve

their brain structures with neural changes that promote higher consciousness.

Firstly, the medial pre-frontal cortex is thought by Neuroscientists to be part of the

cognitive(mental) processing system of humans and appears to play a inhibitory calming or

influencing role over the emotional or limbic part of the brain.

This part of the brain also has been found to mediate and down-regulate the production

of the stress hormone known as cortisol that is produced via the Hypothalamic-Pituitary

gland-Adrenal gland axis (HPA axis) when a person is stressed.

The signalling by the medial prefrontal cortex appears to regulate the generalization of

fear and can dampen an overall increase in escalation of fear mediated by the Amygdala,

which is the part of the brain that evokes a fight or flight response in us all.

This is believed to be partly why meditation and mindfulness practices can assist anxiety

and trauma sufferers to dampen down arousal symptoms in their nervous system and

brain function.

Neuroimaging or brain scans have confirmed that meditators actually shrink their Amygdala

over time.

This is important as it reduces a person reactive fight or flight triggers and increases

the tolerance of arousal that a person can take on until they activate that emotional

fight or flight state of being.

Such a person becomes able to be emotionally stable and in present time as a result of

such changes.

This equates to an aspect of the Buddhist concept mindfulness.

Secondly and more specifically, a part of the brain known as the Orbitofrontal Cortex

lies just above the orbit of the eyes and forms part of the frontal lobe in the area

that correlates to the third eye.

This piece of brain facilitates direct inputs from many other cortical and sub-cortical

areas of the brain.

It also sends or signals outwards other forms of information and signals to the same and

different cortical and subcortical regions of the brain.

The wealth of incoming information provides a snapshot of what is happening in the external

environment as well as what reactions and plans are being organised by other parts of

the brain.

Critically its output communication affect a variety of behaviours and physiological

responses, including emotional and ANS responses organised by the Amygdala part of the brain.

It is this mediating function that apparently helps us integrate external experience with

internal states, and also allows us to influence states of being in the body and to raise our

window of tolerance of arousal from internal and external sources of discomfort.

This is speculated as being the vehicle by which Siddhis and spiritual people can alter

their own bodily functions such as heart rate, blood flow, pain thresholds etc when you see

them demonstrating unusual tricks that appear painful or which would signal injury

or death in the rest of us.

The Orbitofrontal Cortex is also an area of brain that lights up in brain scans

when meditation and visualisation occurs.

If one notices that the outputs go to mental centres, emotional centres, physiological

processes, and memory areas of the brain then an interesting correlation should be noted.

In meditation it is stressed that one should develop the correct logical thoughts or reasoning(mental),

develop a strong feeling(emotional), create a stable visualisation(memory), and have correct

meditative posture(physiological posture) when doing so.

In effect it is speculation but perhaps this is the critical reason why advancing ones

spiritual realisations require the alignment of each of these key areas.

The implication is that the Orbitofrontal Cortex may update our Bodymind reality

across these different cortical and subcortical areas of brain function.

A comprehensive set of new information may in turn shape our operative reality, which

is the basis for the creation of realisation in humans as a deep personal experience, as

against just a mental conceptual knowledge of the same object.

Neuroimaging not only shows that meditators shrunk their Amgdala over time, but also that

their Hippocampus increases over time.

The Hippocampus is commonly associated with memory function, and is part of the temporal

lobe of the brain.

It appears that the Hippocampus plays a key part in consciousness by shaping conscious

or declarative thinking and also mediating learnt responses from past associations with

incoming sensory data.

It is known that trauma and continued stress can damage Hippocampus cells via the action

of the stress hormone Cortisol which creates cell damage and shrinkage of the Hippocampus.

Apparently meditation can reverse or repair some of this damage and facilitates growth

of the Hippocampus area of the brain.

Meditation has been shown to have a calming effect on the Bodymind system and promotes

a relaxed feel-good, parasympathetic state of the ANS outcome.

Immune system repair of the body needs such a state to exist for healing to occur and

be sustained.

In conclusion it can be seen that there is now more evidence emerging that the point

in the body known as the third eye correlates to the same physical location of brain and

gland functions which have direct impacts on our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual

states of being, as well as states of consciousness.

The set of processes and outcomes that the Pineal Gland, the Medial Prefrontal Cortex,

and Orbitofrontal Cortex shape and influence, could be realistically summarised and spoken

of in spiritual and occultic terminology that we read from the Hindu and Buddhist traditions,

as well as the more hidden arcane schools of occult tradition.

It may be that over time science will validate many of these spiritual truths and statements

as being based in scientific and medical fact.

Only time and further advances

in Neuroscience, Neuropsychology, and Human Biology will tell.

Types of Food for Depression - Duration: 10:10.

ashkirwan.com.au and in this

video I'm going to talk

about what kind of foods or what diet

should maintain or have in order to beat

depression and I'm at the organic markets

in Brisbane today which I come to fairly

regularly on a Sunday because it's where

I can get the locally grown vegetables

in an organic manner and convert chart

kimchi and sauerkraut because in my life

since I've managed to lose 50 kilos and

beat my depression a little fulfilled

life I like to have a lot of fermented

foods in my life and a lot of healthy

vegetables I still do eat meat i'm not

against the vegan movement one bit most

of these people here are vegetarians or

vegans yet if we start to incorporate

that healthy diet into our lifestyle

then we seem to find a shift in a change

in our energy because a performance

athlete has to constantly break barriers

and boundaries in their in their

lifestyle in order to create new

potential outcomes and possibilities for

breaking barriers in their performance

so if we look at depression and do more

negative negative aspects of our

emotional conditions which a lot of

people are dealing with depression then

you look at a fundamental and it's

enzyme production our hormone production

are out of balance in our mind and our

minds it so that's what's bringing us

down into a slump a a lot of people get

prescribed antidepressants in order to

maintain that balance or what it doesn't

do is actually face the emotional

unresolved so if we start to realize

that different foods will react to our

body differently such as the

high-profile performance athlete and we

can start to realize that even though in

depression we are at a low we can start

to incorporate some of these different

concepts and ideas on how to chop up and

switch our diet because when you're

depressed you've got to agree that

you're more inclined to want to eat

takeaway food or fast food or oily food

or whatnot because it's just easy it's a

lot harder to actually maintain the

equilibrium in your diet and get up and

actually cook some healthy food because

you don't feel like you don't have any

energy you download yet if we start to

realize that by putting healthier foods

into our body up what it has the

nutrition to start function or remove

some of the toxins out of your body

which is

affecting the enzyme and hormone

production in our body in our stomach in

our mind which is bringing us into that

depression then we can start to educate

and learn how different foods interact

with our body and how that allows our

energy performance in our life in order

to solve the problems that shop in order

to alleviate the emotional issues that

we have in a turmoil and if we start to

realize that you know that includes the

unhealthy Clues done actually can give

you any level of sustenance or nutrition

benefit we can start to research and

learn in two different ways that our

body functions in regards to different

food is different for everybody like

I've said in other videos that are you

know the reason why our depression is

different for each person is because the

content in the composition of our lives

are different for each person so if we

look at that at the fundamental then

different food is going to react

differently for different people's

bodies the port of shapes and blue

tights because of their conditions and

how that the paradigm of their stomach

and burning that type of food has

developed over the course their life

because your body has patterns and

systems set in place especially around

food around mindset around life and

lifestyle relationships communication

etc etc so if we look at changing

lifestyle even more quality life and get

a reading getting rid of toxic

relationships starting to open up our

communication food will act as a vice

and a medium much as the paintbrush to

the artist and when we start to

incorporate that we can start to explore

different foods that we don't understand

or don't know we can start to

incorporate live cultured foods such as

kombucha and kimchi which lifts the good

bacteria enzyme production in the gut

and will naturally change the hormone

chemical production in the mind so

learning how different foods interact

with your body is important on when you

take that journey to beat depression

because it is up to you to learn how

your body and your mind works especially

in vicinity of all areas of your life

within your family within your career

within your mindset within and your

energy your diet your pattern and your

friendships relationships the Tetra

except I mean

you know that's why I like to come to

these places because I get to learn I

get to go to stores like this where we

have different seeds and you know

different types of organic foods and

fruit and vegetables that I've never

heard of or never known about and ask

questions to these guys about their

passion because most of these people at

these markets are very passionate about

what a feeling what they're doing and

what they're creating for their life in

the lifestyle that's how they manage to

get up and leave this this existence and

you'll usually find a lot of people that

work and sell their products within an

organic market have dealt with the

darkness of depression and low energy

that's what led them down the path of

learning about their diet and changing

their lifestyle in order to go in that

direction of more abundant energy and

relationships and fulfillment you know

and that's where the foods for

depression obviously our experiment that

you need to partake in yourself and

start to explore the possibilities it's

for the possibilities of looking

installs like this with different types

of herbs or spices and seeds and you

know fruits and vegetables because in

exploring that and how those different

foods are cooked prepared and eaten in

different cultures and different

families in different lifestyles will

start to give you a deeper fundamental

of yourself than the depth of your taste

buds because even your taste buds are

starting to take to your disease that

you need to eat and taking your body

based upon the energy and an emotional

response that comes from spooky putting

anybody because different foods will

produce produces different type of

energy I know with me and having a more

athletic type of body if i put starting

with ginger after a period of time and

not at integer i get this real spike of

energy and this real i can go out and

play footie game like no tomorrow when i

start bringing in higher levels of

energy I start eating fermented foods

soph and then I start to get more gas so

I've got to switch it up and go between

green vegetables you know herbs and

spices such as basil and ginger and

coriander and garlic chili chili is

another good one because it helps your

body to relax and set him to a higher

level of metabolites in the past push

through so different foods will move you

towards it away from constipation and

diarrhea as well which will create

balances and imbalances in your

metabolism which will start to play

around their energy and once you start

to understand these body systems in

these functions especially around the

idea of food explore these places in a

little you know some of them can be

expensive but that's where you get your

value over time that's why it really

embracing learning about yourself and

how that foods interact with your body

and give you a different level of

performance in all areas not just

exercise but also within your

relationships because if you're eating

hamburgers and pizzas regularly then

problem shows up in your relationships

and it's gonna be a lot harder to do it

because you're in an energy levels are

going to be fairly flat lined but if you

take on the green vegetables and

fermented food diet for a little period

of time all the sudden your energy

levels are shifting change and you will

start to see that problems in your

relationships won't seem as volatile

because your energy will be more bunk

and when you start to grasp that concept

we start to really understand the

fundamentals of depression it's deeper

level because our bodies are a

biological mechanism which has this

fairly standard scientific function that

in all areas of our systems and once you

start explore they start to realize how

much and also how little we as human

beings know about to your body in the

human mind and you know all these issues

and problems are showing up in our

society to do with our body and our mind

so a big part of this video on the types

of foods you need to pull yourself out

of depression is to do a little bit of

experimentation and give yourself

permission to fire arrows food and

explore food as a social outcome and the

social outcome for yourself because you

can go to dinner you can go to nice

restaurants and you can even create a

social environment where you can open

conversation around the kitchen table

but that's something I love to do I love

to socialize in like kitchen at home

because what

me to do is open up those hard

conversations open up those both

conversations that are hard to have in

the flight of the moment or we're

running and rushing from nine to five to

get to work or get those hackers and

need to that we've got to do and it

allows me to have some interaction time

and some personal time with the people

that matter the most in my life it's

through food that I've developed closer

relationships as the people in my world

and it through food that I've learned

and explore and discover more things

about myself because that outcome of

what happens around that hole in a time

lunch time breakfast that I can really

regulate my patterns or where I'm at

with my routine in life and my energy

levels and I can check out all the

systems in my body based upon where my

diets that where my routines out around

that and there's something I want to

bring to you in this video is that the

foods you need to eat in order to

resolve your depression will come from

the own exploration of your life in your

lifestyle so don't be afraid to switch

it up and play around that he's bye for

now remember to like comment and share

this video down below and if you've got

any questions put them in the box below

because I'll be happy to answer them for

you and open up this conversation around

foods and depression for you in the

future alright hey

The Memo Syrian strike changes little for polarizing Trump - Duration: 9:03.

The Memo Syrian strike changes little for polarizing Trump

BY NIALL STANAGE

President Trumps missile strike on Syria has drawn favorable reviews from critics and

only scattered criticism from Democrats.

Yet unlike other Republican presidents who enjoyed a boost in the polls from their military

actions, early signs suggest Trump may not be politically rewarded.

The presidents allies argue Trumps order of a missile strike in response to a chemical

weapons attack allegedly carried out by the Syrian government was admirably decisive and

contrasted favorably with former President Obamas hand-wringing when confronted with

a similar situation in the first years of Syria's ongoing civil war.

Republicans who have been critical of Trump in the past, including Sens. John McCain (Ariz.)

and Marco Rubio (Fla.), have offered him praise.

I think he made the right decision and he handled it in an impressive manner,

said GOP strategist Alex Conant, a staffer for Rubios 2016 presidential campaign,

and I would expect polls to reflect that in the coming weeks.

A Washington Post/ABC News poll released on Monday afternoon showed that 51 percent of

U.S. adults supported the action, whereas only 40 percent were opposed.

Those are good figures for the president, who is dealing with approval ratings that

are historically low for a commander in chief in his first 100 days in office.

But the same poll indicated that just 25 percent said the action made them more confident in

Trumps leadership abilities.

Twenty-eight percent said it made them less confident, while 43 percent said the events

had made no difference to their opinion of Trump.

A CBS News poll showed a similar dichotomy.

Fifty-seven percent of Americans expressed general approval for targeting Syrian military

facilities in response to the use of chemical weapons, while only 36 percent disapproved.

But just 41 percent in the CBS poll said they were confident about Trumps ability to

handle the situation in Syria, while 54 percent said they were uneasy on that point.

The finding hints at a central difficulty for Trump.

He is a deeply polarizing figure atop an already-divided nation.

That seems to make it less likely that he will enjoy the kind of polling bump that has

often accrued to previous presidents in the wake of military action.

Polarization is cooked into the electorate right now, said Julian Zelizer, a professor

of history and public affairs at Princeton University.

It is very hard to move people, because people look at events through a partisan lens.

Trump himself is a very partisan figure, and he generally plays to that.

There could be some factors moving in Trumps favor in this instance.

A number of Democrats were broadly supportive of his actions in Syria.

His 2016 election opponent, Hillary Clinton, had recommended a remarkably similar course

to the one Trump pursued in a public interview last Thursday, just hours before Tomahawk

missiles struck Shayrat Air Base.

Internationally, there was not any wide-scale outcry against the action, though reactions

varied by country.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer asserted at his regular media briefing on Monday that

Trumps handling of the episode had been widely praised domestically and internationally.

And Conant predicted a breeze in Trumps direction.

I think people obviously have very strong feelings about Trump, and so his numbers are

always going to be stickier than other presidents, he said.

That said, even congressional Democrats were supportive of his decision to strike

Assad, so I do think you will see some Democrats giving him a fresh look over the next few

weeks.

There is not much sign of that happening immediately, however.

The Gallup daily tracking poll that measures Trumps job approval has remained essentially

static throughout the weekend, though one more day of polling will be required before

the full effects of the Syrian strike are seen.

In the poll released Monday, Trumps job performance was disapproved of by 53 percent

of adults, while only 40 percent approved.

Gallup also found that 50 percent of adults approved of the action in Syria, while 41

disapproved.

But its polling director, Frank Newport, noted that those figures were historically low

compared with reactions to previous U.S. military actions.

Gallup's figures showed that 76 percent of Americans approved of the war in Iraq at its

inception, and 90 percent approved of the war in Afghanistan.

But other conflicts were much more divisive even in their early days.

During President Clintons time in office, military interventions in Kosovo and in Haiti

won only narrow majority support.

There is also the political zeitgeist to consider.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan became deeply unpopular over time and sapped the American

publics appetite for involvement in foreign conflicts.

Politicians who are deeply skeptical of military interventions have been in the ascendant in

both parties, including Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

As a candidate, Trump himself was much more dubious about military actions than is usual

for a Republican presidential candidate.

At a primary debate in South Carolina a little more than a year ago, Trump accused former

President George W. Bush of lying the nation into war in Iraq.

That being so, it seems likely that the military strike in Syria may be a one-off rather than

a preamble to any further major escalation of American involvement.

Grant Reeher, a professor of political science at Syracuse University, said that, even if

the polls look distinctly tepid for Trump now, the ordering and execution of military

action could make the 45th president look more conventional.

You have the more general phenomenon of rallying around the flag, he said.

It is yet another thing that makes Trump look more like what we think of when we think

of an American president.

But others were not so sure.

This was a single missile strike, and it is not clear that it changes anything,

said Zelizer, the Princeton professor.

Its not clear to me that anything here is going to make people think he is a wonderful

commander in chief or a great president.

The Memo is a reported column by Niall Stanage, primarily focused on Donald Trumps presidency.

Allergic Rhinitis Treatment ❤ Home Remedies for Allergic Rhinitis - Duration: 4:31.

Allergic Rhinitis Treatment ? Home Remedies for Allergic Rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis is a common condition, affecting an estimated 10 to 20% of the US population.

It is a type of allergic reaction that happens when your immune system overreacts to inhaled

substances and the body releases chemicals that cause allergy symptoms.

Common allergens that can cause allergic rhinitis are tree and grass pollen.

Other allergens include dust mites present in bedding, mold spores in the air and pet

dander.

Some people have a higher risk of suffering from allergic rhinitis.

Risk factors include a family history of allergies, suffering from other allergies, a weak immune

system and exposure to second hand cigarette smoke.

It is also more common among males than females.

Here are the top 5 home remedies for allergic rhinitis.

1.

Saline Water

One of the first steps to treat allergic rhinitis is to remove mucus from the nose with the

help of a saline nasal wash.

Mix 1 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of baking soda in 2 cups of warm distilled water.

Using a nasal bulb, snort a small amount of this solution into one nostril.

Allow the solution to drain back out through the other nostril or through the mouth.

Gently blow your nose to remove excess mucus and solution.

Follow this same process with the other nostril.

Repeat this remedy a couple of times daily until your condition improves.

You can also purchase a saline solution at a drug store and use it in the same manner.

2.

Steam

Inhaling steam on a regular basis will help clear the nasal passages of excess mucus and

any irritants.

This in turn will help get rid of allergic rhinitis symptoms, such as sneezing, runny

nose and sore throat.

Pour boiling water in a big bowl.

Add 3 or 4 drops of any essential oil of your choice like eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary

or tea tree oil.

Cover your head with a towel and lean carefully over the bowl.

Deeply inhale the steam for 5 to 10 minutes, then blow your nose thoroughly.

Repeat several times a day until you recover completely.

For small children who cannot inhale steam, a hot shower or bath will help a lot.

3.

Ginger

Ginger is another useful home remedy for allergic rhinitis.

It works as a natural antihistamine and has antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory

and immune-boosting properties that help relieve rhinitis symptoms like nasal congestion, runny

nose, cough and even headache.

Add 1 tablespoon of grated ginger, a few cloves and a small piece of cinnamon to 1 cup of

water.

Boil for 5 minutes, strain and add a little honey and lemon juice.

Drink this herbal tea up to 3 times daily during the allergy season.

Also, chew small pieces of fresh ginger several times a day as well as include ginger in your

cooking.

4.

Turmeric

To reduce the risk of any kind of allergy, turmeric is a good consideration.

Two Minutes for Western Conference Playoff Proclamations - Duration: 2:03.

Greetings, fellow puckheads, and welcome to "Two Minutes for," at the Closet Hockey

Fan, where I condense hockey topics into roughly the time of a minor penalty.

Today it's Two Minutes for Western Conference Stanley Cup Playoffs proclamations.

These are not predictions, which I have linked to in my extensive blog post in the description.

They're just statements about the participants, some admittedly less bold than others.

The Chicago Blackhawks will not succeed if their young forward depth is unreliable.

They don't have to light it up, but rookies Ryan Hartman, Nick Schmaltz, Tanner Kero,

and Vinnie Hinostroza must be useful.

The Minnesota Wild need their young core to lead so the old guard can play the support

roles better suited to them.

For instance, if Jason Zucker stays cold, the climb is much tougher.

The Anaheim Ducks need Rickard Rakell and John Gibson to carry them through the first

round, maybe more, with a severely injured defense group.

The Edmonton Oilers must dominate—not just win—possession, because they've overplayed

goalie Cam Talbot, who will crack soon without support.

The San Jose Sharks need a miracle.

Martin Jones is not hot in net; Logan Couture might not be ready; and the last month has

been total free fall during which they've looked fatigued.

The St. Louis Blues need Paul Stastny AND Vladimir Sobotka's returns to go flawlessly

to have any hope of a deep run.

The Calgary Flames need Brian Elliott to streak hot instead of cold—he might be the streakiest

goalie I've seen.

That 10-game streak was largely due to Elliott being hot.

Otherwise, Calgary's been mediocre.

The Nashville Predators need to pick up their secondary scoring or will struggle.

Only Craig Smith and surprising Kevin Fiala have contributed meaningfully and regularly

of late.

Please tell me your thoughts in the comments, like, share, and subscribe for more analysis

of The Coolest Game on Earth.

Thanks for watching and for those of you who have subscribed recently.

I also appreciate the shoutout from the guys at Post2Post, really like what they're doing,

and maybe sometime we could do something together.

Who knows?

This has been the Closet Hockey Fan, and my time in the sin bin is up.
