If You Use Facebook Messenger, Heres How Youre Being Recorded Even When Youre

Not Using Your Phone.

by Alexa Erickson.

There are many ups and downs about improvements in technology. We have, undoubtedly, become

more enamoured with its ability to make our lives easier, and more informed in ways we

never thought possible. Everything has been digitized, and there are so many forms of

communication, its no wonder the home telephone has collected dust.

People have come to see multi-tasking as a virtue, and so have required companies to

make communication easier and faster. Facebook Messenger, for instance, has become a powerful

tool for people to connect with each other. It was discovered back in April that 900 million

people use Messenger every month, and millions of them are chatting with strangers, friends,

family, and getting in touch with businesses. Essentially, information, valuable and personal,

is being shared.

The idea seems harmless, but now, a warning is circulating that if you have messenger,

you should get rid of it. Then, after you delete it, re-download it and read the terms

of agreement.

Weve long known there are a lot of things the average Facebook user misses when it comes

to protecting themselves, simply because there is a lot going on, and also because not everyone

is privy to their privacy. But when you realize that the social media giant is purposefully

tricking you into being spied on, things feel a bit more personal.

Cellphone users who try to install the Facebook Messenger app must agree to terms of service

in order for the company to access your microphone on their device and subsequently record audio

at any given moment without your knowledge or permission.

Once you zoom in, you can see that users are prompted to accept an agreement that specifically

states Facebook will record audio with the microphone at any time without your

confirmation. Other terms include allowing them to take videos and pictures using the

phones camera, and directly calling numbers that could result in charges. Even more alarming

is Facebook can also read your phones call log, as well as access data about contacts

stored on your phone, most notably the frequency of calls youve made, emailed, or communicated

in other forms to certain individuals.

Most people skip over the TOS in order to get to their destination quicker, but this

is a perfect example of how companies take advantage of this knowledge for their own

benefit. The result, in this case, is Facebook monitoring people around the clock.

Facebook has given a response to concerns regarding the app here. This has also trickled

into the mainstream, as so many people have been commenting on it all over the internet.

Other companies are also requiring people to allow them to approximate your location,

and basically have full network access to communications. There are so many examples

that they are hard to count, and most of the effort to create awareness about this type

of thing comes from people like Edward Snowden.

For example, have you heard of Allo? According to Edward Snowden, if you want to avoid giving

law enforcement the green light to check out all your communications, dont use it. Its

a Google app that records every message you ever send and makes it available to police

upon request, the whistleblower tweeted.

Tech giant Google has been working hard to infiltrate the virtual chatting world, launching

Spaces, Duo, and most recently, Allo, all in the past couple of months.

I just wanted to put that in there as another example, you can read more about that here.

Thanks for reading and please feel free to share your thoughts

in the comments section below.

RESIDENT EVIL 7 | Is Umbrella Returning In RE7? | Possible Enemy Corporation Theories - Duration: 3:59.

With Resident Evil 7 approaching and no super villiian aside from a small Louisiana swamp

family, many people are thinking there has to be more than meets the eye.

*Transformers* And one of the most common theories, because this is after all Resident

Evil, is that the evil Umbrella Corporation is behind the entire madness of the game.

A photograph in the demo hints at their involvement, but could Umbrella really be making a comeback

and be part of the events surrounding Mia, Ethan and the Baker Family in:

RESIDENT EVIL 7

To start, there is a slight problem with this theory.

Umbrella no longer exists.

But this company was so big and so crucial that it doesn't have to exist anymore to

be a part of the plot.

*It didn't take long after the fall of the Umbrella Corporation for their bioweapons

to end up in the hands of terrorists*

The research they did in the past, their former employees, or samples they had cultivated

have appeared elsewhere, including on the black market, and there are a million ways

it could have ended up in Dulvey.

Neo Umbrella anyone?

One obvious connection has to do with the virus or fungus or bacteria that we assume

are plaguing the Baker Family.

Whenever we think of virus we think of Umbrella.

From Jack's super strength to Marguerite's bugs to Lucas's regeneration to Mia's

possible transformation, surely some concoction is involved.

*Don't call me Shirly*

Even the main character Ethan seems to be infected with something.

I really don't think the Bakers created these molded characters on their own.

Maybe they found some umbrella documents.

And this looks very Umbrella-y.

Perhaps Umbrella's legacy was kept alive by former employees, and we have a whole list

of suspects.

It could have been one of the Bakers, I can imagine Jack the janitor being bitter at work

and taking home something progenitory for his troubles.

The main character Ethan seems to be good with chemicals and creating drugs, and that

Mia sure is sneaky and suspicious.

*I did lie to you, I shouldn't have*

Then there is the old lady.

Could she have a connection to Oswell Spencer or George Trevor, the secret doors and passageways

of the mansion sure look Resident Evily.

And what about this guy!

Nahhh.

You also have to consider the Resident Evil Special, that a secret underground Umbrella

laboratory is located at or around the plantation.

We do know there will be some lab looking building in the game, but would the creators

be that obvious?

A nearby lab could have been wiped out by a Louisiana hurricane and some of the samples

could have floated down to the Baker Family.

Or these hillbillies could have squatted in the wrong house, not knowing what was in store.

And what if Umbrella does exist *they do exist* or a sect like Neo-Umbrella.

Sure, the public doesn't believe it does, but this was a big and evil company.

Perhaps a revived Umbrella are running the whole show, with the Bakers as their test

subjects and Mia and Ethan as their lab rats, in an effort to become powerful once again.

Maybe led by this man!

Nahhh.

Right now there are so many different options for evil Corporations in the game and as usual,

Umbrella is at the top of everyone's minds.

So keep your eyes peeled and look up to the sky, you might just see that classic red and

white logo on the side of a chopper, watching you from above in:

RESIDENT EVIL 7

Crimson Army, do you think Umbrella is involved?

Perhaps another big corporation or none at all?

Let me know in the comments and don't forget to like and subscribe!

Astrology Outlook for 2017 A New Hope - Duration: 7:22.

Astrology Outlook for 2017 A New Hope.

by Selacia.

Right now is a perfect time to set the energetic tone for how you want to begin 2017.

This is done with consciousness and intention, your purposefully deciding what kind of experience

you want to have.

Yes, there is a lot of very strange stuff happening out there in the world, but you

can consciously choose your responses.

One example is hope.

At the core of your being, you are hopeful and filled with light.

This part of you can move through any challenge and remain confident that everything will

be okay.

This response of hope has a palpable energy.

It lifts you up and gives you courage to prevail and persist.

It helps you to succeed, and to see success even in so-called failure.

When you connect with hope in a grounded spiritual way, it is like an elixir from the heavens.

In this article, I outline some ways to connect with your own reservoir of hope and become

more resourced for whats next.

As you read, invite your inner wisdom to show you what is relevant for your life.

Ask for understanding and a knowing of divine timing in all things.

Background

Much of the outer world craziness and uncertainty of 2016 is continuing as we sit in the void

of not knowing the next chapter.

In fact, as you probably have noticed, that void has rather unusual energies now.

We really havent witnessed anything quite like it in our lifetimes.

We have had wild cards before, but the sheer number of them occurring simultaneously is

unprecedented.

January an Instrumental Month

Given that, the month of January will be instrumental in determining a number of new directions.

This is happening out there in our world but also within ourselves.

Its vital that we be awake to the process and be in the drivers seat of our own lives.

No matter how uncertain or gloomy things seem, we must remain hopeful and take steps to forge

new beginnings in our lives.

New beginnings will be unfolding around us in the external world.

There likely will be a heightened sense of anticipation, intensity, and concern within

society as people respond to events.

Many things occurring will be outside of our individual control.

What we do have control over, however, is our response.

No matter how strange things get, the key for us is to find our balance and take the

high road of spirit.

As we do that, we connect with the energy of hope at our core.

Shedding Many Skins

Most likely, you feel like you have shed many skins this year.

It has been a time of mega transformation, letting go, and experimenting with new approaches

for living your best life.

Some of your experiments may have had a lukewarm reception or outcome.

Others may still be percolating, not yet ripe.

Still others may be fully formed, but cannot yet be manifested because the timing isnt

yet right.

Whats in Store for January

Here are a few highlights of whats in store for January.

First, its the start of a new year with the energy of new beginnings in the air.

That likely will feel different this January because of the wild cards and tensions of

not knowing how things will play out.

Personal tips: pay attention to whats happening but pay more attention to managing your own

energy and emotional responses.

You may need more sleep or more frequent refueling to stabilize when so much stress is in the

air.

Do your best to avoid taking things personally by being a neutral observer.

Come back to your center often to be reminded of what really matters to you, and to feel

the hopefulness at your core.

Second, we are still in Mercury Retrograde through the first week of January.

That means revisiting issues, review of plans, and sometimes re-dos when things didnt

go right the first time.

Its normal to want to be full speed ahead as the year starts, but with Mercury Retrograde,

it sometimes may feel more like traveling in first gear or neutral.

Mercury tips: pace yourself and breathe often.

Remember that you are a quantum being and that when you are operating in quantum, what

needs to happen can get done in a flash of time.

Dont let apparent delays irritate you.

Trust in divine orchestration.

Third, note in your calendar the January 12 Full Moon.

This will be a powerful Cancer Full Moon, with the potential for challenging dynamics

and intense emotions.

Issues from behind the scenes could arise unexpectedly.

The best way to work with these energies is to stay grounded and in your heart.

Strive to be patient and allowing.

If something comes to a boiling point energetically, consider a time out so you dont say or

do something you may later regret.

Other key energy dates: we have some tense planetary lineups and the Sun moving into

Aquarius January 19, the day before the US Presidential Inauguration on January 20.

The very next week, we have the January 27 Aquarius New Moon occurring the day before

the January 28 start of Chinese Rooster Year.

From an energy standpoint, its going to be a month of intensity, catalysts for change,

and challenges in relating to others.

Do your best to stay in your center and regroup your energy often.

Take time daily to listen to your inner guidance about actions and timing.

Going into this potentially groundbreaking year, remember the big picture of why you

are here.

Remember your role as a divine change-maker.

Remember that you are not an accidental tourist who just happens to be here as the world goes

through its messy remake.

On a soul level, you have a destiny here during these times.

The world needs your love, your consciousness, and your light.

You as a human being need to have the completions and self-realizations available because of

living now.

In no other lifetime to date could you do and complete what is possible now.

Treasure that for the opportunity it is.

On a daily basis, invite a tangible connection with the energy of hope that exists at your

core.

Ask to be guided to live your best life.

What's is it like to be a grad student in civil engineering at Mizzou? - Duration: 4:32.

As graduate students, funding is crucial.

The nicest thing about Mizzou was that I was offered a full scholarship here, which guarantees

me 5 years funding to support my Ph.D. degree here.

I never intended to go to grad school, but the professors and my experience in undergrad

really prompted me to go to grad school at Mizzou because they really care about student

learning, and, just the way that several professors actually approached me to go to grad school

and get involved with research.

It was just a really cool experience.

So, I looked into environmental-focused engineering programs.

There were really a few around the country that were on the top of my list, but it really

came down to the department.

My interest was in the program, and then it was was really solidified when I talked to

my future advisor.

One of the things I like the most about here is you're treated, not really as a student,

but more as a colleague.

You're very well respected, and they know that you have something to bring to the table,

and that's one of the things that I really like about here and about Mizzou.

My advisors have always been very helpful along the way, but also, you know, letting

me be independent and do what I need to do that will not only myself, but also further

the program and further the our research that we're all doing together.

I love what I'm doing.

I love the people I work with.

Studying abroad, especially in America, is something I would say, is difficult.

When you first come to a new country, you don't know anybody here and you don't speak

the local language.

Sometimes you feel awkward, and you may think people will laugh at you

or make fun of you, but I never had anybody do that to me.

People at Mizzou are so nice, and they try their best to help you.

The environmental engineering faculty are awesome.

I know they specialize in different areas and anytime I have a question for one of them

or maybe don't really know what resources to go to, I've been able to reach out.

And they're happy to sit down and give me the information I'm looking for.

They're — also, I don't know how they do everything they do — but, like, they really

are amazing.

Many of the faculty members are active on boards.

They're active in student groups.

I think they really try to make themselves available to students, so that's what I appreciate

most.

There are a couple different professors here in the transportation group in particular,

that all work together really well.

They're almost a collective unit.

When you ask one one thing, you can ask the rest of the professors in the hall.

They'll give you a collective answer because they are all one team, and that's one of the

things — as a student, you're almost part of it.

We are all one team, in a way.

When one student does well or one project does well, it ultimately reflects on the whole

group.

When one does well, everybody does well.

It's kind of cool to see the way that the research is very different, but everyone is

doing research.

That's really valuable, I think.

If somebody's going to grad school to get into research or academia, it's valuable because

there's a lot of testing methods that you don't learn in undergrad as a civil engineer

that people are willing to teach you more hands-on.

It's a really good program.

Specifically, because of the faculty and their expertise and the way that they're just very

knowledgeable, which you'll find everywhere, but I really appreciate it at Mizzou because

of professors' willingness to take a pride hit and just say, "well, I don't know, but

this professor might know."

There Are Oceans In Our Solar System That Could Contain Life - Duration: 3:40.

Water, water, everywhere, On all the moons a-freeze;

Water, water, everywhere, Please alien life say cheese.

Sup planetoids, thanks for watching DNews, y'all know me.

I'm Trace.

We often hear, "We know more about space than about the depths of our own oceans."

Whether that's true or not (and it's arguable) what about oceans on other planets?

What do we know about them?!

Firstly, Earth is the only planet anywhere in the universe that we know has stable, liquid

water on its surface.

There are other celestial bodies we suspect of having oceans though, like Europa and Ganymede,

moons of Jupiter, and Enceladus, a moon of Saturn.

It's just the oceans are trapped under sheets of ice.

In fact, a new study in Geophysical Research Letters from mid-2016 says tiny Enceladus

might have a rocky core, internal ocean, and ice shell!

Using data from the Cassini probe, and seven years of observations, scientists believe

under a (max) 22 kilometer-thick icy shell sits a salty water ocean!

(Another paper says max 70 kilometers!).

They discovered this by looking at the wobble of the moon as it orbits Saturn.

As the moon zoom the planet, the scientists realized the planet's wobble (called a libration)

appeared to move in such a way that could only be explained if the icy surface wasn't

connected to its core!

It's almost as if the moon is sloshing like a milk jug or bowl full of water!

That's so COOL.

Not so cool that the ocean inside is frozen through though, which is weird.

Out of the southern hemisphere of the moon, scientists spotted over 100 "warm" geysers,

so they flew Cassini through them to sample the mist -- it's super salty WATER!

Here on Earth (the only model we have to go by) life in the open ocean is rare -- so we

don't yet know if there's life under these icy sheets…

We'll have to design another probe to scoop up the geyser mists without smashing any possible

life that exists inside!

But even with Enceladus' ocean, Europa is far more intriguing.

Europa is slightly smaller than our moon, but larger than Pluto, and NASA believes Europa

has, like Earth, an iron core, a rocky mantle, and a rocky "surface"… and on top of

that rocky "surface"?

An ocean of salty water!

Unlike Earth, but like Enceladus, Europa also has a frozen icy crust and may have salty

water jets.

The reason Europa is more intriguing than Enceladus?

Life needs three things: energy, water, and heat.

In another study in Geophysical Research Letters, scientists from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory

think judging by Europa's neighbor Io, volcanic activity may exist inside the icy crust of

the moon.

If so, it may mean both heat and nutrients exist where the rocky crust meets the water

and there might be what's called a redox reaction -- or reduction and oxidation; a

chemical process that is similar to what we have on Earth.

If this holds true, then the volcanic activity brings heat and minerals and, of course, there's

water…

SO.

LIFE, MOFO DO YOU SPEAK IT!

Europa, just might.

Look, it's actually easier to launch a probe to a moon in the outer solar system, or point

telescopes like the Hubble at a tiny moon than it is to brave the depths of our own

oceans.

It seems to me, the more we learn about these other moons (and exoplanets!) the more likely

we'll understand oceans in general, and hopefully we can infer more about our own

in the process.

What's the difference between a moon and a planet right?

Is there one?

Amy has the breakdown for you in this video here.

Would you visit a moon?

Which one?

Ours?

Europa?

Phobos?

What's your fav?
