Let's just wing it he says.
These videos always go so well.
Anyways we basically wanted to wish you guys a Happy New Year!
Happy 2017!
What happened to 2016?
That was like the fastest year ever.
Yeah, it went by really quickly.
Seriously.
I hope you guys had some fun celebrating.
We were in Kuala Lumpur and it was really rainy.
At least it was in the early evening.
I don't know what happened after.
Yeah, the crazy thing is we had like the nicest weather while we were there aside from New
Year's.
New Year's eve.
Yeah, so we just stayed indoors we watched YouTube videos.
We ate cookies.
Sam had some really bad wine.
Oh it was bad.
But the food in KL made up for it though.
Oh man, we ate so well while we were there.
Anyways, we thought we would give you guys an update as to what we've been doing in the
last little while.
So we were in Korea from I think it was like October 13th to be about November 20th?
Yeah.
Something like that.
And so that series has been running all the way up until now.
We have never filmed so much in one given year.
So we are behind.
After Korea where did we go?
We did Taipei.
Yep.
Hong Kong.
Yep.
Macau.
Bangkok.
Singapore.
Yep.
Kuala Lumpur.
And now we're here in Chiang Mai.
And that is coming out.
Right.
So we need to edit all of that and that is why we're here in Chiang Mai.
We're in northern Thailand.
Yeah.
And we're going to be spending a whole month here just video editing.
Eating really well.
Yeah.
Just relaxing.
It has been a crazy.
2016 was a crazy year for us in terms of travel.
So it is nice to be in one place for a whole month.
That is a very rare thing for us.
So for 2017 I guess after Thailand we only have a few countries that we know we are visiting
for sure.
So once our time in Thailand runs out we're going to do Nepal.
Right.
For probably about a week and a half.
Yep.
Then we're going to India for a whole month.
For a whole month and my parents are joining us.
Yeah, so Sam's parents love escaping winter in Canada.
They disappear every single year.
It is a pretty good move.
They are proper snowbirds.
Canadian snowbirds.
And they've always wanted to go to India and so we're going to basically going to guide
them around.
We're going to be going to a whole bunch of different places mostly in Northern India.
Yeah.
But it is going to be awesome.
We're so excited about that.
And we plan to be back in Korea for sure.
In the spring.
We're going to come back for another month or two and we're going to film a lot outside
of Seoul.
So places like Busan and Suwon and Daegu and maybe down in the south.
Like Kwangju.
Maybe Jeju.
Maybe Jeju-Do.
A lot of it is going to be outside of Seoul though.
So yeah.
So look forward.
So for those of you who have really enjoyed our Korea series.
And we've really appreciated the support.
Stay tuned because we're going to have another really big Korea series and before we finish
this series off we're going to come out with a Seoul tips video.
So like sharing travel tips.
Right.
To help you guys in case you're thinking of travel there.
And then the big video that we have been working on all summer and all fall.
We're coming out with a 50 things to do in Seoul travel guide.
I need to start editing that tonight.
Yeah, it may need a few days.
It is going to be a really big edit.
It is going to be really big guide.
In fact, I think it is going to be our biggest guide yet that we've had on our channel.
So stay tuned for that and then stay tuned for all of our series coming out from Asia.
Everything will be in chronological order and uh yeah so it'll be coming out really
soon and we're excited about everything we've filmed a lot more street food videos than
in the past.
Yeah.
We have city guides for every place we've gone to and we're going to start doing more
tips videos like the cost of places and just general tips of things that you're going to
love and hate about each place we visit so.
Hate about a place that you visit.
Not so much hate but like what you're going to find annoying.
Anyways we're going to give more like make more tips videos this year because we've had
a lot of requests for that.
Yeah.
And it is something that I think that we should be sharing with you guys because I mean our
city guides are really good in terms of the attractions but it is going to be good to
like share the cost.
Share some insider tips that we have.
Some of the highs and lows because I mean not every destination is positive.
Every place has obviously has positive and negative things.
So yeah, we're really excited to be sharing that and we're really excited for 2017.
So please in the comments let us know what your plans are for this year.
Travel, life or whatever.
Whatever you are doing this year.
What you are excited about.
Let us know.
We really want to know.
And uh yeah is there any other types of videos you'd like us to make for this year because
uh we do listen to your feedback and the tips videos are basically coming out because of
the feedback we got from you guys.
You know what another one that is requested all of the time that we still need to make?
How do you afford to travel.
How do you make money to travel?
Yeah.
So we should actually sit down and do one.
Okay, we'll do that one when we're in Chiang Mai.
And that will come out.
That is going to happen.
In a while.
That will come out after we run our series from last year.
But anyways 2017.
Let's make this a memorable year.
And uh yeah thank you all for the support and we look forward to uh seeing you soon
on the channel.
Seeing you soon.
Yeah.
So take care.
Bye!

[THE BEST NEW FERRARI] 2017 Ferrari California T - Duration: 12:14.
there was a time when snow rain and even
thick traffic were higher up the list of
Ferraris enemies and porsche these were
mostly weekend cars but even wet roads
would see them snuggly tucked up in
their heated garages and not just
because to avoid scrubbing muddy shoe
prints out of the carpets some of them
were difficult enough to handle in the
dry and slick pavement sure didn't make
them any more tolerant the hottest
modern ferrari still don't enjoy being
stuck in heavy traffic not for any
mechanical reasons
mind you they just don't bother hiding
their utter disregard for the monday or
their disregard for a driver forcing
them to endure it because they feel it's
beneath them and it is that's where the
California canyon launched in 2008 the
retractable hardtop convertible is the
most approachable in the company's range
it was aimed at nui money buyers who
were in saturated in supercar folklore
and wanted the badge but not necessarily
all of that attitude
some but not all there are those
California buyers who want the
convenience with a little more attitude
and the trademark crankiness so as I did
with the original California Ferrari has
added a handling specially packaged to
the new turbocharged California tease
repertoire this 8120 dollars option
turns the least expensive ferrari into
something that stripper and faster and
more fun and the trade-off is a slightly
firmer ride all the time
Ferrari has left the core of the
California cheese engine untouched so
the Three Dog Night litre twin-turbo v8
still has 557 pounds to foot of torque
from 4750 revolutions per minute and 553
horsepower s7500 revolutions per minute
like on every California t the engines
boost manager only lets you access 442
pounds to foot in the first three years
with each successive year unlocking a
little more torque until you reach seven
where the maximum is available this
helps make the California t drivable and
has the added benefit of flexibility
once in the tall top gear while that is
all stock on the California t the
seven-speed dual-clutch getrag gearboxes
the first part of the car to receive the
handling specially treatment ferrari
wrote its software to make it shift more
aggressively both top 30% quicker and
down forty percent quicker particularly
in the car is too sporty and driving
modes the exhaust note is different to
with Ferrari finding a pair of helmholtz
resonators to lift the sound by around
three decibels across the rev range but
the engineers particularly focused on
the engine speeds from 1500 to 2800
revolutions per minute the moving
through traffic did they expect to be
used on any given workday the handling
specialties other massive tweak is the
suspension its front springs are sixteen
percent stiffer and the rear springs or
nineteen percent firmer the active
magnet radiological dampers have been
tuned to the new spring rates for ari's
engineers who love to try it out
technical jargon other sports car makers
never make public say the new setup
lowers the bodies roll velocity by seven
percent and lifts the cars corner exits
speed by three-point-eight percent so
there they've left the cabin untouched
which wasn't the worst idea there are a
couple of tiny exterior design fiddles
like a change in grill color
go on try to claim you spotted to mark
the handling specially out to the typhus
in the cali tease cabin is a comforting
and elevating place to soak up miles in
the small unintended curves and warbles
in the leather stitching show clearly
that it's done by hand but the leather
is beautifully soft and the carpet is
Casa t there is the same carbon fiber
arch over the center consoles bits and
pieces tray and it's just a lovely piece
of design holding the buttons for the
automatic mode and the hazard lights
among others the air conditioning
controls are intuitive to use though
they're rushing air coming from the
vents is sometimes it
rusev loud and the navigation works
rather well
ferrari insists the extra noises now
wake up the neighbors loud but we didn't
find it as prominent as expected largely
because I start up the exhaust is in its
most gentle mode you know the one that
helps it past noise regulations its
deeper and more authoritative but the
sound won't grow tiresome for someone
using the car as a daily driver and so
we click the manatee no drive mode
selector switch to its middle sports
setting and waited for it to rip the air
to shreds but it didn't
the California t hasn't lost any
sophistication and clamor for more noise
so don't expect the engines Tambor to
gradually and precisely ascend into the
stratosphere like the naturally
aspirated ferrari motors instead the
music master at Ferrari delivered a new
sound signature that edges towards the
soaring songstresses of the naturally
aspirated era there's a wonderful or all
combination of Medicine sweetness to it
that you could genuinely live with every
day
unlike most turbo motors more revs
doesn't just mean more noise but instead
more depth and timber and a higher pitch
the only downside is that it feels like
the noise production system is just
hitting its stride when the shift lights
at the top of the steering wheel come on
and demand another gear that and almost
all of its noises generated by the
exhaust you can't hear the front-mounted
engines exertions at all no and take
sound no mechanical clatter nothing just
some steering pump wine now and again
the transmission is by way of
compensation quite unmistakeably faster
up down whatever its incandescent Lee
quick a mechanical transaction that's
now so utterly brief that you think you
might want another gear and your fingers
have twisted into existence before your
synapses can possibly have fired the
instruction to them it's all a lot more
complex and engaging them that though
anybody could have made it faster
Ferrari has nearly had the shift times
and simultaneously triple the
interesting
it's fun enough on hard acceleration
where you pull the next year without
lifting off the gas and the Ferrari
delivers a sharply delineated crack in
the soundtrack there's barely a ripple
of vibration or joel through the cabin
and the exhaust note sounds a bit deeper
and richer with each passing gear the
downshift stole the show during our
photography session on italy's ss1 the
ancient roman road by Aurelia a
contender for the title of oldest
continuously used Rove the valleys echo
to the sound of California t handling
specially downshifts with five of the
things making enough noise 425 there are
few things that generate mechanical
wonder like coming into a tight corner
in the California t handling
specially-matched the brembos down onto
their carbon-ceramic brake discs on
approach tug gently on the left paddle
and the Ferrari snaps down another gear
it's done
cracking home with inaudible savage
breath almost before your nerves have
finished telling your finger muscles to
contract it's also fabulously fast
blistering to 62 miles per hour in 3.6
seconds punching onto 124 miles per hour
just 7.6 seconds later and this is the
everyday Ferrari it's imperfect though
cruising in an aggressive setting will
sell you with a constant throttle drone
so annoyingly monotonous that you'll
have to reach for the man he know to
change modes and back the noise off
sooner or later so do it sooner
the only major difference between the
noise levels top up or down is that with
the roof and place the hardtop circulate
some of it around the cabin a little
better
the sad news is that the car still has
to be stationary before ferrari will let
you put the top up or down the noise is
one thing with Ferrari is really pushing
the added handling prowess and it's
right to what the engineers are not
telling the whole story up in the
mountains
the car is handling with sure-footed
sharp crisp and aggressive and its grip
levels and balance were nice and clean
but it never quite reach the levels we
were expecting
there was nothing scary about it but
we'd hoped for a better pull out of
corners and wanted its understeer limits
pushed further north
don't read that to be a negative because
both of those things occurred at
ferociously high speeds in real terms we
just expected to give a little more we
found that missing something by pushing
the car is bumpy road button that
transformed it into the car we always
hoped it might be first suggested by
michael schumacher for the 430 scuderia
the bumpy road button keeps the damp
rebound setting soft even in the cars
sportiest powertrain and skin control
modes push it in the handling specially
shines it should be thought of as the
default setting for anybody whoever
drives or owns one the car might not
feel as pointy or sharp but it does
everything better this way the balance
seems to shift further real work making
the car handle more neutrally mid-corner
and especially from the point where the
driver picks up the throttle again
it lets the tires keep hugging the
tarmac where they just marginally but
frequently bounced out of contact if the
dampers are left to form an atty no
control it works wonders elsewhere in
the car to making the light weighted
steering feel much common and it
delivers unprecedented confidence to
push it in the first half of corners
letting the car carry more speed and
showing off the new spring balance to
its best effect it goes from being a car
that runs out of grip at the front to a
car that feels like it will never run
out of grip at all even when it does
it's so progressive and positive that
even the moderately skilled will easily
haul it back into the safe zone even
with its skid control systems switched
off
moreover while the softer damping trick
works well on smooth roads it's more
impressive the rougher the road surface
becomes and while 8120 dollars might be
the price of a good use hatchback in
California t terms it's not even another
four percent more money on top of the
cars base price it's like a $1,000
option on a thirty thousand dollars car
and that's almost a bargain

Watching for White Nose, A Bat Disease - Texas Parks and Wildlife [Official] - Duration: 8:24.
- JONAH EVANS: Texas has the highest diversity of bats
in any state.
And so anybody who loves wildlife should try to make time
or find the opportunity to see these bats emerge.
It's always really fun.
In the face of this terrible disease, there's suddenly a lot
of attention going to bats.
[bats fluttering]
[music, film projector clicking]
- FRAN HUTCHINS: Bats have been maligned for thousands of years.
[woman screams]
Most people don't have any contact with bats,
so what they know about them is what they've seen on TV,
and most of the time on TV, especially if it's Hollywood,
they're blood-sucking monsters.
[people screaming]
- Animal bats, the kind that fly.
- FRAN: People think all bats have rabies and they don't.
- Some of them bats is rabid.
- FRAN: They're not carriers.
If a bat gets sick with rabies and it dies.
- Well!
- And that ain't all...
- FRAN: People think bats are blind.
None of our species of bats are blind.
- The sky was full of what looked like huge bats!
- FRAN: Besides using echolocation to navigate
and hunt for their food they're also using their eyesight.
So bats aren't blind.
[woman screaming]
- FRAN: A lot of people think bats will get in their hair.
So we dispel that myth.
[girl screaming]
- JONAH: I think a lot of people are afraid of bats because they
don't know much about them.
And like most things the more you learn about them the more
interesting they become, the less scary they become,
and quickly we begin to realize that bats are actually quite
beneficial to humans.
Texas is really special for bats.
We have the largest congregations of bats
in the entire world.
People travel all over the world to see Bracken Bat Cave,
Old Tunnel State Park, Congress Street Bridge.
It's a wildlife phenomenon in Texas.
The majority of bats wake up as we're going to bed
and they'll go eat insects.
And they eat huge, huge, huge numbers of insects.
There's actually a long history of people working with bats
and benefiting from bats.
- FRAN: From March through October Bats are going
to eat tons of bugs.
Those are primarily agricultural pests in the area,
so you have cotton ball moth, the corn earworm moth,
army cut worm.
Because of that farmers, one, don't have crop damage,
two don't have to spray a lot of pesticides on their crops
to kill those bugs.
[airplane engine]
- If you like bananas, or chocolate, or tequila,
you can thank a bat.
Here we are at the entrance here...
Here in North America, we've got 47 different species
of bats and, here in Texas we have 33 different species.
In these caves we generally have hibernating bats.
We've got like four species that we generally encounter.
Cave Myotis, the Tri-colored Bat, the Big Brown Bat,
and Townsend's Big-Eared Bat.
They generally like these cold stable caves.
It makes it easy for them to hibernate.
And each one of them has unique requirements.
- JONAH: Cave environments are extremely sensitive.
They are tied in with underground aquifers
and water systems.
They oftentimes have endemic species or species that are
only found in that one spot.
And cave systems have very few nutrients.
There's very little input of nutrients coming
into those systems.
- KATIE: We've been counting the number of bats within each of
these caves, identifying the species, and collecting swab
samples to contribute to this greater national
white-nose surveillance effort.
- White-Nose Syndrome.
- White-Nose Syndrome.
- What is this White-Nose Syndrome?
- It's called White-Nose Syndrome.
- White-Nose Syndrome.
- The deadly White-Nose Syndrome.
- KATIE: White-Nose Syndrome is a devastating disease.
It is a new disease first detected in the winner of
2006-2007, and I can even remember those first random
emails going through the bat community chain:
pictures of these bats with the fungus on their nose,
asking does anyone know what this fungus is?
Nobody knew because it was brand-new.
It's caused by a cold loving fungus:
Pseudogymnoascus destructans, or PD.
That fungus is not native here to America, our North American
bats have no adaptations to respond to it,
and consequently it's devastating them.
- JONAH: Bats that are susceptible to white-nose to
share a common trait in that they all hibernate.
Hibernation for a bat is a very narrow budget of energy that
they're trying to make last for many months.
So the way that white-nose hurts them is by irritating the skin
while they're hibernating.
And just the process of waking up and cleaning off your wings
and fidgeting around a little bit burns off critical energy
and the result is starvation.
- KATIE: We have lost at least 5.7 million bats, probably more.
The fungus or the disease is now found in 30 U.S. states and five
Canadian provinces,
and we see devastating population declines
wherever it goes.
Some bats are very severely impacted by it and we see almost
total population collapse.
- JONAH: It has since spread kind of out from that spot down
the south eastern part of the country and worked its way
towards Texas at about a rate of 200 miles per year.
Based on predictive models for how the disease was going to
spread, it appeared that it was going to be funneled through
the panhandle of Texas into the western states.
We had clear battle lines drawn.
We knew which direction enemy was advancing,
all of a sudden to have a show up in Washington State.
Now it's coming from behind us as well.
It's definitely not encouraging and it's actually
quite alarming.
[equipment rustling]
- JONAH: The challenge of treating White-nose Syndrome
is much more complicated than just treating the disease.
We can't just think about curing the bat of the disease,
we also have to be aware of potential impacts
to the cave ecosystem.
If we sprayed a fungicide or some major disruptive chemical
into a cave, we just don't know how that might
impact the system.
So the plan in Texas is to take advantage of this window of
opportunity we have now to learn as much as we can about bats
before the disease gets here, and be prepared if an
opportunity to apply some kind of treatment arises.
And luckily we have a lot of smart researchers working on
solving that problem, but I think we still have
a long ways to go.
[footsteps]
Nature is so incredibly complex that the more we look,
the more we learn with pretty much any species.
Each species of bat is unique, fills a specific niche,
and we have so much to learn from them.
The loss of any one of these species is a real tragedy.
- NARRATOR: This project was funded in part by a grant
from the Wildlife Restoration Program.

China withholds approval for eight Korean chartered flights from Jan. to Feb. - Duration: 1:29.
Chinese aviation authorities have rejected requests by Korean air carriers to run chartered
flights between the two countries ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
Pundits say it's likely another retaliatory act against Seoul's planned deployment of
the U.S. air defense system, THAAD.
Lee Unshin has the details.
On Sunday, the Chinese government announced it would not approve eight chartered flights
from the Chinese mainland to Korea.
The affected airlines are Asiana Airlines, Jeju Air and Jin Air... for eight flights
departing from China... this month and next.
Chartered flights normally operate during the busy travel season to accommodate extra
demand.
The fact that Beijing is turning down Korean carriers so close to the Lunar New Year holiday
at the end of this month... and that the measure affects only Korea, has raised concerns that
Beijing is retaliating against Seoul for its planned deployment of the U.S. missile defense
system THAAD, which China strongly opposes.
The flight ban follows reports that the Chinese government ordered its travel agencies to
reduce sales of flights to Korea by about 20-percent, from last November through this
April.
Korea's Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se told reporters on Monday, that the exact reason
behind Beijing's recent moves is yet to be determined, but that the government plans
to come up with proper countermeasures if necessary.

Chung Yoo-ra, Choi Soon-sil's daughter, arrested in Denmark - Duration: 2:20.
A welcome development for the independent counsel team dedicated to investigating Korea's
power abuse and corruption scandal.
The daughter of the key figure of the case has been arrested in Denmark.
Anticipation builds that Chung Yoo-ra should provide larger pieces of the puzzle when probed
at home.
Hwang Hojun has our top story.
It was the first official briefing of the new year,...
and the independent counsel team's main announcement on Monday afternoon was that Chung Yoo-ra
had been arrested in Denmark.
Chung is the daughter of Choi Soon-sil,... the woman at the heart of the scandal.
She was caught by local Danish police in the northern city of Aalborg , on late Sunday
evening, local time, for an illegal stay, though that hasn't been confirmed by the independent
counsel.
She was taken into custody with four others, including a toddler who appears to be her
son.
Chung had been the subject of a Europe-wide manhunt for several weeks, as Korean prosecutors
want to question her on allegations that Choi... helped her gain entry into Ewha Womans University.
The independent counsel team is also investigating claims that Choi used her connection to President
Park to help her daughter gain sponsorship from Korean companies for her aspiring dressage
career.
The independent counsel team put Chung on Korea's wanted list at the end of last month,
and had asked for Interpol's help in finding her, after she failed to return to the country
to answer questions about her role in the scandal.
And to ensure her swift return, the justice ministry said it has submitted an extradition
request to the National Police Agency.
The NPA said on Monday evening it has delivered the extradition request to Danish authorities
via Interpol.
As the investigation heats up, more key figures are being called in for questioning.
Earlier in the day, former senior presidential secretary for education and culture, Song
Kwang-yong, was questioned about the presidential office's alleged creation of a "cultural blacklist"
of artists critical of the government.
Another former senior adviser, Ahn Jong-beom, was questioned for a third time about his
role in a controversial merger between Samsung C&T and Cheil industries that took place last
July.
Several Samsung executives are also set to be questioned on the merger this week.
The team also confirmed that Moon Hyung-pyo, who is the chief of the National Pension Service,
and Chang Si-ho, Choi Soon-sil's niece, were also called in for questioning today.

CEOs of Korean conglomerates call for innovation and change to meet coming challenges - Duration: 1:53.
The leaders of Korea's largest conglomerates acknowledged the uncertainties they are facing
at home and abroad, as well as the loss of public trust.
Oh Soo-young shares with us their plans to address these issues... laid out on the first
work day of the year.
Innovate or perish.
That seems to be the mindset that Korean businesses are taking on as they venture into the brand
new year.
On Monday, the leaders of the country's biggest conglomerates spoke out on how they'll meet
the challenges ahead.
They're faced with a protracted slump in economic growth and the rise of protectionism around
the world,... in addition to mounting uncertainties at home.
Korea has cut its economic outlook for the year to 2-point-6 percent,... the lowest since
the Asian Financial Crisis, due to rising household debt and an ongoing government-led
corporate restructuring drive.
Also, the companies that are suspected of involvement in the ongoing abuse-of-power
scandal surrounding the president must grapple with the loss of public trust.
In addressing these challenges, Lotte Group chairman Shin Dong-bin stressed the importance
of chance, listing quality corporate management, new fields of business and lawful business
practices as a means to grow alongside society.
Koo Bon-moo, chairman of LG Group, called for a fundamental change in the corporate
structure and the way business is done to spark a culture of innovation.
He also said the company will strive to practice transparency in order to boost the trust of
investors and the public.
Chung Mong-koo, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, emphasized the need for responsible
business practices and strengthening internal management in order to push forward with new
growth engines such as self-driving technology.

CEOs of Korean conglomerates call for innovation and change to meet coming challenges - Duration: 1:55.
On the first work day of the year, the biggest movers and shakers of Korea's corporate world
acknowledged the uncertainties at home and abroad, as well as the loss of public trust.
Oh Soo-young sheds light on how leaders of Korea's largest conglomerates plan to address
these issues.
He set out an ambitious annual sales target of 8-point-2-5 million units of Hyundai and
Kia vehicles worldwide.
Samsung Group did not make an official statement, as the company's leadership is currently under
investigation for its possible involvement in the Choi Soon-sil scandal.

Former Saenuri chief Lee Jung-hyun quits party - Duration: 2:09.
Over at the National Assembly.
The former chair of the ruling Saenuri has left, adding to a raft of departures from
its ranks.
Meanwhile the opposition bloc condemned President Park for denying the allegations against her
in the influence-peddling scandal.
Ji Myung-kil has the latest from parliament.
Lee Jung-hyun, a member of the Saenuri Party's pro-President Park Geun-hye faction... who
stepped down as party chief last month, said Monday that he is now leaving the party altogether
to take responsibility for the ongoing political crisis.
Lee said he does not want to stand in the way of In Myung-jin... the current head of
the party's emergency committee.
"In, for his part, has urged key lawmakers from the pro-Park wing to follow Lee's lead
and give up their Saenuri membership within the week to take responsibility for the crisis."
Also on Monday, the breakaway group... known tentatively as the New Conservative Party
for Reform... visited frontline military units to promote their conservative stance on national
security issues.
The group of 30 former Saenuri Party lawmakers plans to officially launch the new party later
this month, and their numbers are expected to grow.
Meanwhile, the main opposition Democratic Party of Korea condemned President Park's
denial of the allegations that had led to her impeachment, made during a meeting with
reporters the day before.
"The president should not confess to the media but comply with the Constitutional Court and
the independent counsel probe."
Across the aisle, Park Jie-won of the minor opposition People's Party... has announced
his bid for the party chairmanship,... promising his party will produce the next president.
"I will make sure the presidential candidate comes from the People's Party, representing
the people.
Then Korea will change."
Park also said heavyweights Ahn Cheol-soo and Chun Jung-bae would be the party's presidential
contenders in the next election.

Korea's exports of oil-related items expected hit record high for 2016 - Duration: 2:14.
While it has been a gloomy year for Korea's exports, we did see bright sparks here and
there..
A closer look reveals despite the slump in total outbound shimpents, exports of oil-related
products are not only soaring... they're estimated to have reached an all-time high in 2016.
Kim Min-ji breaks down the digits for us.
Korea's oil refinery industry is expected to see exports of oil-related products hit
a record high for last year,... despite an overall downward trend for the country's exports.
According to industry data,... Korea's four oil refiners -- SK Innovation, GS Caltex,
S-oil and Hyundai Oilbank -- exported 445 million barrels of oil-related products as
of November.
Adding on December figures,... it's expected to a reach 490 million barrels,... surpassing
the previous record of 477 million barrels exported in 2015.
The shipments include gasoline, diesel, naphtha and other oil-related products.
This is thanks in part to Korea's diverse range of export partners,... and especially
due to growing demand from China and other countries Southeast Asia,... as well as OPEC's
recent decision to curb oil production,... which has lifted global oil prices slightly.
And building on the increased exports,... the combined operating profits of the four
oil refiners are projected to hit a record high of over five-point-nine billion U.S.
dollars for 2016.
In the first three quarters of last year, the four companies posted a total operating
profit of four-point-seven billion dollars -- already surpassing the combined 2015 figure.
And it's likely they will easily scoop one-point-two billion dollars in profits in the fourth quarter.
Their previous record operating profit was five-point-six billion dollars in 2011.
Prospects are also bright for this year -- with demand in Asia expected to grow,... and global
oil prices forecast to maintain their recovery momentum.
On top of that, the incoming Trump administration's plan to revitalize the U.S. economy could
send demand shooting up.
But, industry officials point out that increased protectionism could put the brakes on exports.

Brief cold snap tomorrow morning, smog to ease tomorrow - Duration: 2:11.
The first week of the new year started out under dusty conditions.
For more on that and the weather updates, let's go over to Lee Jee-hyun at the weather
center.
Jee-hyun, an ultrafine dust advisory was issued in some parts of the country including here
in Seoul?
Yes.
The advisory was issued for the capital at 5PM.
Gangwon-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do provinces were also put under the advisory.
Ultrafine dust particles are about 30 times smaller than the thickness of human hair,
which is why it can easily travel by wind.
So by tomorrow morning, it is expected that dust from northern cities in China will blanket
Seoul and its vicinities.
While the dust will clear out in most parts of the country overnight, a brief cold snap
is expected for tomorrow.
Seoul will start out at minus 4 degrees Celsius while Daejeon will have a low of minus 3.
Sunny skies are in store throughout the day with highs in Seoul topping out at 6 degrees
Celsius while Busan and Jeju Island will have highs of 12 degrees.
This week, we are not expecting any major plunges in the mercury.
In fact, we could look forward to have a tad higher than seasonal average temperatures
for the rest of the winter.
That's Korea for you, here's look at the weather conditions around the world.
