FBI's Text Messages Have Been Found, Look Who Is In Deep S*it Now
Somebody is in deep trouble now, because apparently on Thursday, Federal investigators said they
recovered at least some of the supposedly missing text messages between Peter Strzok
and Lisa Page.
Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz told Congress told congress that
his investigators were able to recover some of the texts that had apparently disappeared
due to a phone "malfunction."
The two agents displayed a clear dislike towards Trump, and a clear preference to Hillary Clinton,
while they were working on both of their cases as FBI investigators.
Republicans had been wondering how the messages could have possibly disappeared, but FBI officials
claimed that a malfunction cause some of the texts to be deleted.
Text between the two in October of 2016, talking about a Wall Street Journal article that detailed
the conflict of interest it was to have FBI Director Andrew McCabe working on the case,
when his wife received a half a million dollar donation from the Clinton foundation.
The Wall Street Journal reported that 98 percent of that money was donated after the FBI started
the Clinton investigation.
Texts between the two agents shows that FBI Chief of Staff James Rybicki believes that
McCabe should have recused himself from the investigation, McCabe didn't recuse himself
until one week from the presidential election.
"RYBICKI JUST CALLED TO CHECK IN," MS.
PAGE SAID IN THE TEXT.
"HE VERY CLEARLY 100 PERCENT BELIEVES THAT ANDY SHOULD BE RECUSED BECAUSE OF THE 'PERCEPTION.'
"
Ms. Page then says, "If its a matter similar to those we've been talking about lately,
why no recusal before?"
"I ASSUME MCAULIFFE PICKED UP," MR.
STRZOK RESPONDED.
"BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
HE SAID HE WAS INTERVIEWING, MAYBE HE'S HEADED INTO PRIVATE PRACTICE."
Page also added in a text that they might want to take it easy on Clinton.
"One more thing: she might be our next president.
The last thing you need us going in there loaded for bear," Ms. Page said in the text.
Michael Horowitz, the inspector general, told two senior Republican senators, Charles Grassley
and Ron Johnson, about the discovery, the Washington Examiner reported.
It came after mounting pressure – including from President Donald Trump – on the FBI
to find the cache of as many as 50,000 messages between the two.
The already uncovered messages have sent shockwaves through Washington, with the two calling Trump
'an idiot' and suggesting the FBI decided not to charge Hillary Clinton long before
the end of her secret server probe.
The contents of the new ones is not being published.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions had ordered an investigation by the inspector general
into the missing text messages on Tuesday.
Texts between senior counter-terrorism agent Strzok and FBI lawyer Page exchanged between
Dec. 14, 2016, and May 17, 2017, had been among a broader batch of missing phone messages
that the FBI says its system failed to store because of a software upgrade glitch which
affected Samsung 5 cellphones it issued to staff.
