I think a tool like the 3D Gait Analysis is

something that is overlooked by a lot of runners.

Only because it seems to be something that

people would turn to when injured.

So when you think about it, it's the cost

for certain things, can almost stop people.

But when you think about the cost of having

an injury, it's so much larger than the financial

you could put forward to prevent

that from happening.

And it's so much more than just an iPhone video.

When they can really, like, pull up the graphs

and show you, and slow it down, and everything

from the way my tibia is turning to the

way my feet were striking, to my toes, to the

angles, because they're able to not only look

from a side profile and a front and back, but

also from a birds' eye view.

The Fortius 3DRun Analysis is a valuable tool

for anybody involved in a running sport, for

the distance runner, it's great for novice

runners and injury prevention and injury management,

and for elite level, competitive runners,

it's great for performance optimization, as well.

When looking or thinking about the 3D Gait Analysis

now that I've actually been through it,

I think it's an incredible tool.

It nailed my goals.

Ingredients for Robotics Research - Duration: 1:57.

Today, we're releasing new Gym environments and Baselines for

goal-based robotics tasks. The tasks include a ShadowHand robot that

manipulates an object. The hand is flexible enough to handle a number of

different items. We also added new environments for the Fetch robot where

it learns to nudge a block, slide a puck, as well as grasp a block and lift it up.

Along with the environments, we're also updating Baselines, our library of

reinforcement learning code. One of the algorithms we use to train agents on the

new tasks is Hindsight Experience Replay, or HER for short. HER allows an

agent to learn from failures. For example, here Fetch is trying to slide a puck

towards a goal. Unfortunately, in this first attempt, we missed the goal. Usually

we would now just try again and hope for a better result. However, while the puck

did not end up at the goal, it did land somewhere else. With HER, instead of the

original goal, we pretend that we in fact wanted to slide the puck to where it

landed. If our goal had been here, this attempt would have been successful.

Over time, this helps us learn how to achieve all possible goals.

The new environments are available in Gym today, and Hindsight Experience Replay is available in Baselines.

Office 365 Update for February 2018 - Duration: 12:04.

Welcome to the Office 365 update for February 2018. In the next few minutes I'll give you

a quick rundown of the latest updates to the service, with goal of helping you get the most

out of your investment. We cover things rather quickly, so please refer to the Office 365

Guy Blog where we post the transcript and resources guide. Last October, I covered the growing

support for 3D models in PowerPoint. In that segment, I showed you how 3D graphics become

even more dynamic when combined with PowerPoint's Morph transition.

Simply duplicate your slide, reposition your 3D model, select the Morph transition, and PowerPoint

creates a smooth, cinematic transition between slides. Good news: 3D support in PowerPoint

just got even better. Office 365 subscribers can now add animation effects to 3D objects on

a single slide. Now, there are animation effects specific to 3D images. Simply click on your

3D model, and an Animation Ribbon displays the options. There are also effect options specific

to each 3D animation. Once applied, they can be managed and sequenced in the Animation Pane

just like traditional PowerPoint animations. Back in December 2016, I covered scalable vector

graphics: Now you can insert and edit scalable vector graphics and images in your Office documents.

We've even added a built-in library of professional, high-quality icons to get you started.

Since these graphics are vector-based, they look great at any size without becoming, to use

a scientific term, pixelated. Once added, you can apply styles, change the line color, change

the fill color, and add other effects. Vector graphics became even more flexible in mid-January.

Now, after adding a graphic, Office 365 subscribers will see a new "Convert to Shape" option

in the Graphics Tools Format Ribbon. This enables you to transform SVG pictures and icons

into Office shapes so you can change individual elements within the graphic, like their color,

size, and texture. Remember, vector graphics aren't limited to PowerPoint. You can also use

them in Word, Excel, and Outlook emails. For more information, go to the What's new in Office

365 page on the Office Support site I link to in the transcript.

Introduced at Microsoft's Ignite event in Orlando last September, the Outlook Cheat Sheets,

available in PDF format, have been a big hit. They show you how to quickly accomplish useful

tasks in Outlook Mail and Calendar across platforms. There are specific Cheat Sheets for Outlook

on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Outlook on the Web. In addition, the Microsoft Office International

team has translated these Cheat Sheets into 36 languages. If you want to ensure that you're

getting the most out of Outlook on the devices you use, download the Outlook Cheat Sheet of

your choice from Support.Office.com. Feature parity across Office for Windows and Office for

Mac benefits everyone, but it isn't always a reality for various reasons.

One feature on the Mac that recently caught up with its Windows counterpart is support for

tables in Outlook for Mac. Now, everything that you can do with tables in the Mac version

of Microsoft Word, you can now do in Outlook on Mac. Simply insert a table in a new email,

and you'll see two new tabs in the compose window ribbon: Table Design and Layout.

Commands in these two tabs will allow you to tailor the table just the way you want to.

In addition to tables, there are a few small updates to the user interface of Outlook on Mac,

that I've been enjoying. In the past, you could only resize the text of an entire email in the Reading

Pane. But with this update, you can set the default text size universally. Simply go to Outlook,

Preferences, and Fonts. You now have a slider to change the text display size. In addition,

Outlook on Mac now supports swiping gestures on your trackpad to triage your In Box.

A two-finger swipe to the right or the left when the mouse is over an email in the item list,

will give you the option to either delete the message or archive it.

If you're a Mac enthusiast or a user like me who works on both platforms, I'm sure you will

welcome these improvements. On January 10th, the SharePoint team announced the ability to

create and use custom SharePoint site designs. These custom design sites serve as templates

for other sites in the organization. This enhancement enables IT and content managers to create

and deploy 'modern' SharePoint sites in a repeatable way that is compliant with your

organizations guidelines and preferences, and supports your organization's brand.

You can create a tenant-wide gallery of SharePoint site designs.

Each new site can be assigned the right set of themes and designs by the right people.

You can also assign who can pick and use specific designs when they're ready to create a new

site. I provide a link to additional details in the Office 365 Guy blog. Note that this feature

is currently rolling out to Targeted Release Office 365 customers.

I'll let you know when this SharePoint enhancement rolls out to all customers in a future

video. What's Targeted Release you ask? I put a link on the blog with more info. There are

additional enhancements to SharePoint editing capabilities available Targeted Release Office

365 customers. If you're not a Targeted Release participant, consider this a sneak preview

and rest assured these features will be released to the full production environment soon.

These new SharePoint editing enhancements include the ability create a new page starting with

an existing one. When you click on New, you'll have the option to either create a blank page

or start with a copy of the page you're currently on. This will save you time and energy recreating

elements that you've already designed. One of the most requested SharePoint features is being

fulfilled with support for rich text editing. When you add a Text web part, the embedded rich

text editor gives you greater control for how your text appears.

You can adjust the size, bold, underline and spacing. In addition, you can easily add an image

to a SharePoint page or news article, and when you do, you can further edit it by cropping

or zooming to customize it for your layout. You can also pull in online, royalty-free images,

powered by Bing, that are tagged with the Creative Common license.

There are additional details in the SharePoint blog. And again, I'll keep you posted on when

these enhancements are available beyond Targeted Release Office 365 customers.

Power BI empowers everyone to get deep insights from their data and make better business decisions,

while PowerApps enables everyone to build and use business apps which connect to your data.

Doesn't it sound like these two solutions should play well together? Well, good news: they do!

I am happy to announce the availability of the PowerApps Custom Visual for Power BI (now

in preview) which enables you to use these two products even better together.

After adding the PowerApps custom visual to PowerBI, you'll be able to pass context aware

data to your PowerApps application. The app will update in real time as you make changes to

your PowerBI report. This integration enables users to derive business insights and take actions

right within their Power BI reports and dashboards. No need to switch tabs to open the separate

apps, or copy and paste data from one window to another. For the details and to participate

in this preview, follow the link I provide in the transcript.

Microsoft has received a lot of feedback from our customers on how to make Secure Score better.

Many Office 365 Admins requested the ability of comparing their score against the average

score of all Office 365 tenants. However, is it really fair to compare the score of an organization

that has 70 seats against an organization that has 70,000 seats? The Secure Score team came

up with a solution. They grouped tenants into seven tiers based on the number of Office 365

active seats. Now, your organization's Secure Score will be compared to an average seat size

score, helping to ensure that the comparison between the scores is relevant.

Coming soon, Microsoft will be introducing an industry average score in Secure Score.

This will show how your score compares to other organizations that have designated the same

industry. Stay tuned for details. I'll provide an update on this enhancement to Secure Score

as soon as it's released. Compliance requirements can be complex to interpret, difficult to

track, and labor-intensive to implement. And with new regulations and changes coming constantly,

keeping up can be difficult and expensive. Microsoft's Compliance Manager, now available in

public preview, enables you to manager your compliance from one place.

It enables you to perform a risk assessment of your organization's compliance with regulations

and standards, such as GDPR, ISO 27001 and ISO 27018. Compliance Manager helps connect data

protection solutions with the regulatory requirements that matter to you, as well as enabling

you to evaluate Microsoft's cloud services (such as Office 365) with detailed audit information.

To simplify your compliance workflow, Compliance Manager also enables you to assign, track,

record compliance-related activities, and produce detailed reports that can help you be more

prepared for audit activities. For all the details, read the Security and Compliance blog

post I link to in the transcript, which contains a video demo showcasing the Compliance Manager's

new capabilities. Before signing off, I want to give you a quick update on two current security

threats that you've probably been hearing about in the news: Meltdown and Spectre.

They are a newly discovered class of vulnerabilities based on a common chip architecture that,

when originally designed, was created to speed up computers. Microsoft is well aware of these

threats and has released several updates to help mitigate these vulnerabilities.

We strongly encourage the installation of these updates to all computing devices from phones

and tablets to on-premises datacenter servers. Rest assured, Microsoft has also deployed these updates

to secure our cloud services, including Office 365. Check out the information in the transcript

and resource guide to learn more. That's it for the February update. Remember to send your

feedback or success stories to Office365UpdateSeries@microsoft.com

I'm Jim Naroski, thanks for watching, and I'll see you again soon!

Laureus Sport for Good: Change the Game for Kids | "Ade's Story" - Duration: 2:09.

My name is Ade Akande

and I'm a volunteer for Active Communities Network.

I come from England, London, Southwark.

I always said that I wouldn't change where I grew up.

I wouldn't change what I went through.

My greatest achievement is probably just not dying early

or not going to prison.

I had a friend going to prison for a long time.

I had a friend dying.

When a friend dies, you can either do two things.

You can go around, start killing everybody,

going into a madman or you can just be successful.

In the beginning, it was just about the football.

Growing up I never had it planned to be a coach or volunteer.

So I got given the opportunity

and I kind of took it.

It was the coaches and the staff at Active Community that actually

saw these attributes in me and that I'll be good at it.

I think sometimes you got to earn it from kids.

Kids don't really just give their respect to anybody.

Whatever you wanna do, whatever you see,

put your hundred percent in it and just do it.

Organisations like that are really important,

because they're doing Sport for Good.

You push us to put our personalities out there.

(hip hop beat)

- Pullin up on you in a minute, no baby

Them some perps up over there

I'm a big dog baby

I'm a hot girl

Yeah like I'm Juvie in the summer

and this time I got a bad (beep)

make her say uhh when I wanna.

I don't know if that's a girl or a guy

but I think that's dope, I give it like

a three and a half, four.

That's cool.

The hot girl line was dope, I think that's like a

Master P kinda reference, that New Orleans thing so,

no I think that's dope.

I'll hold you slowly, treat you like a trophy,

get so much of you I OD,

can you pass me up like slowly.

I'll wear you out like me Louie,

squeeze on you like my toolie,

stir you up like a smoothie,

clean you up like my jewelry.

That's not bad, I like the rhyme scheme.

I give it a four.

Like some things about cadence, some things are about

the actual message, then sometimes the rhyme scheme

so I don't know what song it was on.

If it was on like a single, it'd probably be cool,

but if it was on like a hip hop traditional joint

then it'd probably be like ehh.

I mean I can't compare none of these guys to me

cause I'm just god level so I'm trying to think on

the more civilian level.

She will bust it down for some damn lime a ritas

chew me like come bubble gum, something like Rasheeda,

gotta get my partner some, she on me like Adidas.

Mmm three and a half.

Yeah dope for like a single record or something.

Fresh out the cell to the booth, drop the Dylan Roof

I'm still in the hood tell Zimmerman shoot,

hold my nuts with an OJ glove, (beep) the judge,

You rappers is false flagging, you a fashion blood.

Mmm that was hard.

I think that was hard.

I don't know who that is but he made a point.

I give him a four and a half.

Yeah (beep) take your phone out

to record this, ain't nobody can ignore this,

I'm more or less a moral-less individual,

making movies with criminals, tryin to get them residuals.

I mean, I don't know, I gotta think on a civilian

level again, I'm gonna get that a, yeah I see what he was

trying to do, three and a half.

Maybe I'm the new Rakim, maybe I'm a fat Pharo,

undergarments or armor by my intimate apparel,

pre Kardashian Kanye my rhyme play immaculate,

same cadence as D.O.C. pre accident.

That's hard.

Yeah that's somebody on my level, I don't know who it is

but I know somebody, you know what I mean, barred up

to say some dope stuff like that.

Cause when I seen maybe I'm the new Rakim, I'm like okay.

Then he say I'm the fat Pharo, undergarments yeah

this guy's, this guy's great.

Whoever that is, that's a five.

I never understood Planned Parenthood,

cause I never met nobody planned to be a parent in the hood,

taking refills of that Plan B pill,

another shorty that won't make it to the family will.

I mean that's god level.

We all know who that is.

That's god level.

Yup, shout out to that man, that's god level

we gonna give him a ten.

My homies was crippin so hard, all they eat is seafood,

had a manager named Bellow, he used to teach me Kung Fu,

it was ironic cause I had to call him Shifu,

boy I'm dope, you should put that lighter on the teaspoon.

Yeah that guy is a,

yeah, he said some dope (beep).

This is the greatest rapper, I've never read nothin that was

this dope before.

Yeah I would give him a 20.

Hey, I know who it is I'm CyHi the Prynce

and I just rated those bars.

Yeah.

Parkland Father SHAMES Fox News' Chris Wallace For Focusing On Gun Control Instead Of School Safety! - Duration: 11:05.

Parkland Father SHAMES Fox News' Chris Wallace For Focusing On Gun Control Instead Of School Safety

one of the big differences between previous mass shootings and the tragedy

in parkland Florida has been the active response and eloquence of the survivors

and the victims families students like senior Delaney Tarr the only reason that

we've gotten so far is because we are not afraid of losing money we are not

afraid of getting reelected or not getting reelected we have nothing to

lose the only thing we have to gain at this point is our safety and parents

like Andrew Pollock who lost his daughter meadow should have been one

school shooting and we should have fixed it and I'm pissed because my daughter

I'm not gonna see again she's not here she's not here

Delaney and Andrew join us now from Coral Springs Florida and I want to say

right at the start how sorry all of us are for your loss and what you've had to

go through Andrew when you were at the White House at that very raw emotional

moment you said look after 9/11 we fixed the situation we made a lot harder for

people to get onto planes with guns when you hear what governor Scott just said

when you hear what President Trump is saying would that fix the problem it's

not going to be fixed cuz I just heard what you said what you're focusing on

polarizing this event the murder of these kids you're talking about gun

control I just had to listen to you and Governor Scott talk about gun control

gun control is a big issue no one in America is going to come together on gun

control Chris we're here you didn't say one thing about fixing it the American

people we could get together on school safety but when you polarize it this

event and every other media we don't care about gun control right now that's

a big issue in the country and you're not going to get everyone together on it

but we're gonna get everyone together on fix in our schools and and I just

listened to you so I just you didn't talk you didn't mention one

question to Governor Scott about what are we gonna do about the security for

our children how are we gonna do that but your your just talking about gun

control which is gonna just give you more ratings and every other media event

my daughter's dead I want to know our kids are going to school in Kentucky on

Monday how are those kids safe how about bringing that up to the media how about

bringing that up to Governor Scott not about guns it's not about guns now today

it's not about guns it's about the safety in our schools and and you and

that's what you asked governor Scott about and I got a listen to that at my

house my kid my kids not here because the schools weren't safe that's the main

thing you go into a courthouse the judge is safe that the store not the

stenographer is not worried someone's coming in with a gun because they can't

get in with a gun the American people we just want our schools safe we don't want

to talk about guns right now let me bring let me bring in Delaney and I very

much respect what you have to say sir Delaney your thoughts about what you're

hearing from the governor and from the president which is a lot about a lot

more than than guns guns is part of it but they also are talking about

hardening schools about arming teachers your thoughts what you're hearing it is

it's it's a very multi-dimensional issue and he does Andrew did say he said this

is about school safety and personally I think that there is also an issue with

the fact that he was able to access this this weapon this gun I personally I do

not believe that arming teachers is a solution here I know many people Marco

Rubio Rick Scott they've also said that they do not believe that arming teachers

is a solution here but there are many different issues that need to be

addressed what do you think Delaney what are the issues that you

think need to be addressed I absolutely do agree that we we need to we need to

address the the failures that have that have created a situation like this a

horrible situation like this all of the things that have failed us all the

systems that have failed us I think that we do need to focus on improving our

school safety a little bit on moving our our officers on I also

believe that we need to make it harder for people to access guns when they are

not mentally stable when they are young when they are not in a place where they

should be owning a weapon like this injury I want to go back and I

understand your strong feelings but isn't this issue of isn't this issue of

mental health and trying to make sure that sick people don't have access to

guns isn't that part of the problem ok but was that was that a big issue one

when we were protecting airports was that a big issue I'm not saying it's not

an issue Chris but when we were protecting our federal buildings is that

a big issue we have our children in these classes we just that's issues ok

that could be worked out but right now the country just wants to come together

and make our school safe for our kids that there's no other issue then our

kids go into class and not thinking about some monsters gonna stalk them out

in the hallway it that's what we need to focus on and we could all come together

as Americans instead of other issues and those other issues I agree with you

there are other issues there but the main issue right now is is fixing the

schools so let's talk specifically about that sir

when you say fix the schools and I mean you've compared it to airports are you

saying school security ID checks that you you tell me what it is that you

would like to see I think that I'm not I'm not an expert in it but I think we

need to hire the experts and check every school individually and make sure

they're safe for their children you know there's a serious problem like I said it

the new norm has to be our kids are safe in the school this can't happen again I

can't let it happen to another kid in another state like right now governor

Scott governor Scott's doing what he had to do but he also had to go visit the

parents of dead kids for two weeks I'm on right now today because I want to

tell every governor and every other state they need to be proactive right

now they need to get a bill in place why all and we're gonna put all America

together and work with these governors to protect our schools we can't have

another shooting in the country I can live with it and I'm this

has this has to stop with parkland and my daughter's death

that can't be can't be in vain she it has to be the last one Andrew what do

you think about the teacher issue and you know I know this must be incredibly

painful but now we hear these stories that there were police on the scene and

they didn't go in at least three sheriff's deputies were there and didn't

go in yeah but there's one deputy that worked there Peterson he worked there

and he's a coward he was he stood by the door I know was a fact he he could have

made it to the third floor and saved all six victims if he wasn't some little I

can't even words can't even describe what the way I think about him but I'm

not trying to think about that stuff because that's just negative and I'm

just gonna make me toxic so I just want to get the word out to the governors of

every state that they have to do something now today get together they

could call me I have other dead parents here we all want to help them and let's

make the school safe Delaney when you hear that and it's not just the the

sheriff's or the deputies that didn't come in but but just what's a lot of a

lot of failures Chris that needs to be it's a lot of incompetence all around I

could I could write you a book on on all the incompetence that happened at that

school but that's that's not going to fix it or bring any of our dead kids

back I just don't want any more dead kids and and all that stuff's gonna come

out and I don't want to focus on that I'm on heat I'm on with you Chris today

to tell the American people that are messaging me what we need to do is fix

it now in every other school make it the new norm now you got to have metal

detect it's got to be it's got to be like a courthouse like a federal

building like an airport that's how we need our schools now Delaney you go back

to school this week how are you feeling about that

it's it's very daunting to imagine going back to a place that just two weeks

prior held such horrors and it's scary because I don't know if I'm gonna be

safe there but but I know that I have to I know that more now more than ever I am

I'm proud of Who I am and I feel like I need that sense of normalcy because in

all of this it's like I can't even be a high schooler anymore and I just want to

be a high school senior again and it's so hard to think about even doing that

at this point Andrew when we heard you at the president's listening session and

I speak as a parent and a grandparent my heart broke for you I'm sure a lot of

people did around the country how you doing sir oh it's rough I have my

moments you know like it's like a wave that comes of a wave of emotions but I

have this theory fire inside of me that's driving me that I never I can't

explain it like I could walk through flames right now I can there's nothing I

can't do and I just want to get the word out to everybody in this country that it

could happen to you I'm real I'm a real guy then I grew up in Long Island I

didn't mean I never thought this could happen and it happened there's parents

here that came here to support me today this young lady has to live with it

it it stops you know it it's banned it's an easy fix Chris you know you just need

some competent people to get together and put the right plan in place and make

it so the kids are safe man they that's all you know they got to be safe in

school Andrew Delaney thank you both for sharing your stories our hearts go out

to both of you but more important we're going to stay on this story

Thomas you Andrew I understand that it is not just a gun control issue and we

are gonna do everything that we can to make your schools safer and you are both

welcome back any time as part of that effort thank you both

thanks

Running 10km every day for 7 days - Duration: 9:06.

running never really seen the attraction tired tired if I'm running it's

inevitably because I'm chasing a ball a train or a bus I do play football though

but running from running sake never been into it so for me this week's challenge

will be a proper challenge run ten kilometers every day for the next seven

days

I do love the simplicity of running all you need is a pair of shoes or my case a

pair of shoes some calf compression sleeves lashings of deep heats in an

enormous amount of willpower running on the pavement hurts my joints on the rare

occasion when I do run I prefer to use my wife's treadmill it's a lot more

forgiving on my creaking body it's like problem I have this week is

that I'm away in Switzerland for a few days directing a film this means that

the first to 10k runs will be outside

running shoes

right

run number one

the first run was always gonna be the easiest I'm feeling at my freshest and

I'm excited about finally starting this challenge it's cold feeling it tonight I

headed down to Lake Geneva tonight and found a long straight path which ran

alongside the water it's a shame it was dark and cloudy as it looked like a

really beautiful spot I'm about to head off to the studio now unfortunately due

to client confidentiality I'm not allowed to say who the client is or what

the film is for so that's just gonna have to remain shrouded in mystery

I ran a similar route to last night's 10k running alongside Lake Geneva and

pacing myself for the week and trying not to go too hard as I know I have a

long way to go in this challenge tired hardest part tonight run as a last

mile which was all uphill on the way back to the hotel 10k

I was wondering how it's going to feel after first 2:10 case especially doing

them outdoors I'm not used to doing a lot of outdoor running but not feeling

too bad setting a good pace not too fast not too slow and to carry a backpack

some carrying the camera and the GoPro so carrying the extra weight doesn't

make things easy but I'm pleased so far two down five to go I've got about an

hour and a half before I need to start making my way back to the airport so I

thought I'd take the opportunity this morning to go to Lausanne Cathedral and

unfortunately it's about a mile and a half uphill the muscles are aching but

maybe a brisk walk is exactly what I need

and it's a really beautiful view on a good day you can see all the way over to

France across Lake Geneva but sadly today too overcast

we've got about 20 minutes now so we got to get to the train station so gotta go

the last thing I want to do and I get back to Ed and Burroughs go for a run

I'm hurting today I know if I can just get through tonight run then I'm almost

at the halfway point so tonight's run feels pivotal to me completing this

challenge back in Edinburgh now let's start my third 10k just want to get

through this one got the small matter of this dude wanting to use the treadmill

that worked quite well

three K down - then okay then nicely warmed up now

that was hard it's a lot son then take care number three done possibly the

hardest of luck so hot in there don't think I've ever sweat so much my life

this is just a ride compression tights gonna help

last night's run was really tough but I know that if I complete another 10k

tonight then I've sailed past the halfway point of this challenge right

now that's a huge psychological factor that I'm focusing on I'm running at

night because this is the most convenient time for me to do so however

this does mean that my two little boys are fast asleep and the last thing I

want to do is wake them up so means I have to keep the door to the

treadmill room shut this just means that becomes an absolute sweat box in that

room after the halfway point

I think the compression tights were really helpful to run tonight we'd say

they made me run it faster but suddenly I felt a lot more comfortable please

they've got past the halfway point when this challenge you know the end is in

sight I really think I can do this now I've still got a long way to go on this

challenge and my biggest fear is I'm gonna get injured and I won't be able to

complete it so I'm trying to be as kind to my body as I possibly can be during

the day I've taken to wearing chewy grips on both of my thighs and calf

compression sleeves on the lower part of my legs I do look like a massive twat

but it is working looking good

the treadmill is making a big difference to my runs just over 48 hours ago I was

walking around Lausanne with a lot of pain in my legs but it feels like I've

got a new lease of life now it's feeling really good tonight

felt like it could run for longer felt like you could run faster and I've got

20k to go so trying to preserve those legs preserve those muscles but yeah

feeling really good right now it's Saturday morning now and a little over

12 hours since my last run I'm on the home straight now just want to keep the

momentum going have the luxury have been able to keep the door to the treadmill

room open this morning but I'm looking forward to completing

this challenge by doing my final run tomorrow outside take a down one more to

go

Sunday morning just one more run that separates me from completing this

challenge let's do this

this week I've run the furthest I've ever run in my life I probably never

sweated more in one week either the season runners running 70 kilometers in

a week has nothing to write home about but for someone who doesn't do a lot of

running this was a big challenge after the second outdoor run I was hurting my

legs were so stiff that to be honest I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to

complete this challenge I've only completed three weekly

challenges now but there seems to be a trends the first few days of the

challenge are the hardest by the middle of the week you get into a groove by the

end of the week you've adapted and it's become second nature plus you do get an

almighty sense of accomplishment when you get to the end of the seventh day

dare I say it I love doing this challenge and a converted runner now the

listening to music is important otherwise it becomes a very dull thank

you for watching if you've enjoyed this please like comment and share and join

me again next time for my next weekly challenge

How to Evaluate Salesfore for Nonprofits | RedCast EP13 part:4 - Duration: 7:01.

- Hello and welcome to episode 14 of Redcast.

I'm Eric Lehnen, host of the Redcast.

This is part four of a four part series going through

CRM for nonprofits.

If you haven't seen the first part yet,

go ahead and click here.

Otherwise stayed tuned and you're gonna listen to us

talking why Salesforce and how to evaluate Salesforce

or other CRM's for your organization.

(bouncy electronic music)

So we've seen a lot of development on the Salesforce side

to assist

Hired Ed and NPSP to help, you know,

foundations and nonprofits with managing students,

brands, donations.

So how does someone get started? So let's say

I'm starting a foundation where I've started to get

to a scale where it's like, I can't manage this

with Excel anymore, where it's the mundaneness of

trying to do my view look ups and managing my if-logic

and trying to take off my inbound communications

cause I'm not gonna be able to remember more than, you know,

10 conversations in a week.

How does someone get involve or get started with

exploring Salesforce or exploring in CRM general?

- Yeah, yeah. I think I would start with just supporting

CRM in general and start doing, maybe do something

whether it be mapping, or post-its or however you want to

have it, however you want to call it.

Throw post-it notes on a board to say

"What are we tracking right now?" You know?

And maybe some other ways to generate these post it notes

would be, what are the sheets, the spread sheets that

I'm having? What are the databases that I'm currently using?

And put all that stuff on a wall so you can start looking

at what's the data that I'm currently tracking.

Where does it live?

What are we using it for?

- Who's responsible for it. - Who's using it?

- You know kinda think about the who, what, where, when's.

Maybe trying to answer the why, why do we care?

- (laughs) Yup.

- If you don't have a why's-- - That's a very good one.

- You shouldn't really care about that.

So that's a great first step. You don't even need to know

what solution what so ever but you can at least start

knowing what am I wanting to track.

And maybe with those post-it notes you can start

carving out once you get why's and the what's and such.

Searching out to figure out what do I want to tackle first.

I think a lot of us go, I want do it all right now.

- Oh boy. (laughs)

- And which is fine. You can do that,

but it really bows down to, you know,

time, and money, and resources.

And if we all won the Powerball we could all make it

happen right now, but we can't.

- It's reality. - It's most reality

- So how do we phase this and maybe it's,

let's tackle this segment first, let's take these

five spreadsheets that we have, let's put that in and

transfer over to sales for to build some processes and

the data models for that.

And then we'd have this next set of five spreadsheets,

or these other databases that I have and really try to

clump things together that you can do a phased approach to,

to use your CRM in an efficient manner.

And at the same time get immediate response cause

if you try to tackle it all right away,

it's gonna be a lot longer than if you can try to,

you know, piece meal stuff together.

You'll be able to have a little quicker turn around

and get better used cases and, even a lot of cases,

understand what can...

What can we do in later phases to maybe

learn what we're learning.

Cause-- - Absolutely.

- You know, switching over to the other question of,

how do you learn Salesforce or how do we learn what

exists out there. You know, there's a lot of different

trains of thought for it and it kinda goes to your

learning style.

- Mhmm.

- And, you know, I'mma learn-by-doing kinda guy.

I'm the guy that's usually gonna break the connection.

(laughs)

- And we'll figure out how we'll fix the connection.

Other people will wanna read the documentation.

There's, if you want to read documentation, there's

thousands and thousands, if not, millions and millions

of pages of sales for documentations that exist out there.

Of course, you have something like a trailhead that's really

nifty where you can learn Salesforce and there's a couple

of really good trails. I think there's one that's just

learn CRM, I think that's the name of it.

And it's a handful of trails of what does it mean to be

CRM and also having a gateway to what is sales for.

So what's the contact in accounts?

What the heck is an object?

What's an opportunity? - What's a record?

- What's a record? You kinda talk through some of the

Salesforce lingo and that's a really good trail

to just start off with, trying to learn the lingo.

I think about,

you know, beyond Trailhead it's

getting access to a trial org.

And so, with Salesforce.org you can create trial orgs

that have, say NPSP, installed already so you can get

a look and feel of how is this look.

When you get that you'll be your productions sense in

so you can create sandbox environment to play in that.

And that way you know that you're not really kinda

touching stuff is you probably gonna learn right away that

you're gonna make a lot of mistakes. The first time I loaded

data it was eight times I loaded the data in there.

So, if everything I worked on had a feel things along

those lines, do it in the sandbox first.

And with having a trial org you have the ability to do that.

Or even with having a Trailhead account,

you have access to a dev org.

And that's really powerful because that's kinda your

own personal sandbox and then you can play and look,

how do I create a process and go back to learn by doing

you can be flicking around, see what's going.

I mean if you're reading documentation, you're reading

that documentation and then you can be seen firsthand

while saying, click here and click here.

It's be like looking at that documentation so,

those are the tall tale waves if you ever find a blog

or probably on there.

Some of the other ways that, I personally, like to

recommend people is find people that are using

the system right now.

- Oh yeah. - How did I learn Salesforce?

- I talked to other people, I went to the local

nonprofit user group. Ironically, I went to the first time

and ended up being a co-leader after the first meeting.

So... (laughs)

Watch out.

- Door's open. - Door's open.

But by going to those meetings, you're meeting other people

that are using Salesforce or maybe the same point as you,

maybe they're still vetting Salesforce,

or at least talking to people you're sales regard.

Getting to learn how are they using it.

What are some of their pain points. Sales force isn't just

this amazing solution that--

- Oh yeah, we complain about it.

- We complain it, yeah.

There's a thing called the Exchange that people will

voice their opinion about what Salesforce needs to do.

And so you get to learn both the goods and bads.
