Waching daily Jan 5 2017

Today I'm gonna talking about seriously topic.

Hello everyone, I'm Sayuki.

I didn't do this beginning greeting these days.

I talk seriously today.

I'm gonna taking about "Is Poland a safe country for Japanese girl?"

It's woman's perspective.

I tell you this first. I think Poland is safe country.

Not so dangerous.

You don't need worry too much.

I think West Europa like Spain, France are more dangerous than Poland.

But I can't say Poland is safe like Japan.

Anyway you don't need worry about a murder case in Poland.

Of course you have to be careful few things because here is not Japan.

Wait wait, this camera moved??

Don't push my camera.

You shouldn't walk alone at night.

It's not so dangerous if you walk alone at night in Tokyo.

I think it's dangerous in Poland.

It's not so dangerous if you walk at some big city like Warsaw and there is many people.

But if there is no people or some countryside, you have to be careful.

And you can be approached by a drank people at night.

You have to watch out and protect yourself.

Actually, Polish women are also watch out walking alone at night.

In this town, I often see some situation when I go to a liquor shop or small shop.

Almost all clerks are women. I often see her boyfriend or husband is waiting her before few minutes closing time.

Some Polish guys don't want to let a girlfriend walk at night.

So they wait a girlfriend.

Now you know, how dangerous walking alone at night.

And it's not easy to find 24h opened shop in Poland

There is not so many 24h opened shop in Poland, not like in Japan.

So when you walk alone at night and a strange guy follow after you at a street in Poland, you can't escape to a shop.

If that street is lively at daytime but it will be so dark at night time. These shops right off and you can't fine any people.

So watch out.

You shouldn't act like in Japan.

And then, some robber exist in Poland.

I heard few information that some stuff was stolen in Warsaw, Krakow.

But these robbers are not always Polish guys.

Anyway we have to watch out a robber at every country.

If you have a bag with a zip, you have to close your zip always.

And you shouldn't put your smartphone in a pocket.

If your pocket is so deep, you can put everything.

But if your pocket is small and you can't put surely inside, don't put any valuable.

You can't complain if robber steel your stuff from your pocket.

Next topic is a racial discrimination in Poland.

I can't say I didn't experienced racism in Poland.

Actually I experienced.

Anyway I think it's less than West European country.

I feel it doesn't often happen racial discrimination at here.

So how did I experience racial discrimination?

For example, when I walk at some street and young guys say me strange language like fake Chinese language. But it happens everywhere, not only in Poland.

I don't know why but everyone says "Chin Chon Chan". It's neither Chinese nor Japanese.

Anyway sometimes you will meet with this kind of young guys.

But you don't need care about them.

I know it makes you be annoying.

You don't need think a lot of them. They are just idiot.

By the way, there is few racist in Poland.

But I think over 90% peoples will not meet with this kind of racist people in Poland. They are very few.

So why I talk about a racist? Because I know few racist in Poland.

Black metal has a genre is called "NS Black metal".

If you want to know about NS Black metal, please check on internet.

Few musician and fun from NSBM scene, sometimes they are very fanatics.

It's very rarely, but sometimes I encounter the racist who don't like non-white races.

I had few bad experiences.

When I was a party with metal guys, this kind of racist say hello and shake hands with everyone EXCEPT ME.

They totally ignore me.

I was this situation few times.

Then, they know I'm Japanese but call me "Chinese".

It's so low level actions.

I think that kind of racist are not real racist.

So you shouldn't care.

OK, I finish this topic.

Next topic is a scary experience in Poland.

I have never experienced some scary things in Poland.

I didn't experienced any scary things.

Some drunk did something scary for me?? No No No.

I had many bad experienced in Japan.

I was almost kidnapped in Japan when I was junior high school student. It was so scary.

Next topic is what kind of clothes you have to wear in Poland.

I think you can wear everything what you like. You don't need care about it too much.

When I started travelling to foreign countries, my friend taught me "When you go to the foreign, you have to wear some dirty clothes like a homeless!"

So I followed her advice and I always traveled with dirty and old clothes.

I remember I traveled to France and Italy with the dirty clothes.

I wanted to go to the main store of Jean Paul Gaultier, but I couldn't go.

I was sure that a guardian kick out me.

The reason why I need to wear dirty clothes...you know.

I pretended to be poor.

If you really don't have any money, you don't need worry about it.

But when you travel you bring few moneys.

So if you wear the dirty clothes, you will not be stolen something by a robber.

My friend said to me and I just followed it.

But I felt myself miserable when I used the dirty clothes.

Sometimes I wanted to enjoy a fashion and wear a skirt.

But that time, I was afraid wear a skirt in the foreign country.

When I started living in Poland I enjoy my fashion and wear a skirt.

But I have never had any bad experience.

So I think you can enjoy your fashion in Poland.

Anyway you should care about it a little, because here is not Japan.

You can't wear all kinds of clothes like in Japan.

For example...You shouldn't wear a very short skirt and a net tights with a spike long boots. You will look like a whore.

Maybe some guy ask you "How much are you?" So please be careful.

That's all.

If you have something more questions, please write a comment and let me know.

I think you don't need worry about the safety in Poland.

About a terrorism...I guess Poland is safer than West European countries...

That's all!

See you next time!

SHAMELESS - Review - Duration: 10:03.

Hi guys it's Debbie, today I would like to speak

about "Shameless". "Shameless" is an American

drama-comedy TV series which aired for the

first time in 2011. It mainly

speaks about a large dysfunctional family,

the Gallaghers which live in Chicago.

The series is actually based on a

British TV series of the same name

set in Manchester, with the same

characters and also the plot is

extremely similar. I've never actually

seen the British version I've only seen

the American remake so that's what

I'll be talking about today. So as I said

before "Shameless" speaks of this very large

family, the life of its family members, their

interactions, their friendships, their

feelings and so on. So the show doesn't

focus on an extremely dynamic plot and

prefers to focus on the nature of every

single character, creating the plot

through a web of actions and decisions

that every family member makes. The plot

is then enriched by a series of secondary

characters which all develop from the

Gallaghers' love stories, jobs, criminal

activities, friendships and so on. So as

you can tell there is a vast and deep

web of interactions between all the

characters making the plot interesting and

engaging but not through a complicated

storyline but through the affection we

start to feel for the various characters

as the series moves on. Because if we

take the background story in an abstract

form and we observe it just as it is

without the characters, it is just day

after day of work, school, criminal

activity, drinking, partying, sex and so on.

It's not too deep, if seen in an

abstract way. But the series becomes

interesting and really engaging thanks

to these characters which we observe in

a sort of "Truman Show" style, so we watch

them throughout every single moment of

their day including their most intimate

moments. Is "Shameless" a simple show? I've

often considered this because of its

background but I've come to the conclusion

that it actually isn't. Because the

analysis of the characters is extremely

deep and with the passing of time we

become very attached to them. Also the

series might appear simple but it

actually often asks and leaves

unanswered, certain questions about difficult

life choices and I appreciate the fact

that these questions are left unanswered as

nobody will actually be there to guide

us in life, to give us the answer to a

specific doubt in life, there's never a

guiding hand when we come to a crossroad.

So it is a really interesting product. I

personally really enjoyed it and I would

definitely recommend it to anybody who

is searching for a different TV series

from the ones that we are usually

offered. Because it is fun, entertaining

but also gives us a lot of material to

think about. Because we often judge what

the characters do in the series but then

start to realize "What would we have done

in that certain situation?", "What would our

reaction have been?". So let's take a look

at these main characters which are the

fundamental element of the show. The

Gallagher family is composed of Frank

Gallagher, a drug addict and alcoholic

which spends most of his time drinking

at a local bar the "Alibi", begging for

money or doing a series of odd and often illegal jobs

in order to make ends meet. He has an

extremely large family but

he doesn't seem to show any affection

towards his children. On the contrary he

often exploits them in order to obtain

welfare aid. If they try to fight back

against him and his abusive manners, he

often accuses them of not being grateful

for providing a roof above their head,

which in reality is just a derelict

houses with countless issues. Although

Frank's feelings may only appear

through the form of hate, we

sometimes notice that deep down he feels

love for his family and he sometimes

reflects about his bad parenting choices.

But these moments are extremely brief and

they only last to the next chance of

getting his hands on some money or on a welfare check.

Frank is portrayed by William Macy which

in my opinion is one of the best actors

on the show, perfectly conveying Frank's

disgusting plans, his attitude towards

life, his addiction but also his

extremely brainy side which annoyingly

manages to get him out of even the most

sticky situations. But as I always say, if

you arrive to the point of hating a

character then the actor portraying this character

has done an excellent job. Frank has a

wife, Monica, which has an equal amount of

issues to deal with.

Unfortunately she left the Gallagher

family when the kids were still

extremely young and although she seems

to feel strong love towards them,

she actually has never made one step in order

to provide anything as a mother.

Frank and Monica's irresponsible

behaviour left their eldest (although

still young) daughter Fiona to care for

her smaller siblings. Fiona loves these

kids more than anything in her life and

often has to come to terms with justice

as Frank is legally still their legal guardian.

She provides for most of the household's

income, she makes sure that all of the

kids get to have three square meals a

day and she tries as much as she can to

keep them out of trouble, as unfortunately they

live in an area of Chicago in which

there is an abundance of criminal

activity. Although Fiona may appear as a responsible

woman, she's still very young and often

makes hasty decisions which then have

implications for the rest of the family.

She also has countless brief

relationships with people which provide

nothing for her or the family, or seem

to but then deep down have unpleasant

secrets hidden. The second eldest son is Philip, Lip.

Lip is extremely intelligent, studious

and often appears as the most calm and

responsible member of the family. As I

often say, where you were born doesn't

define you as a person and often Lip's

friends and relatives say that he

was never meant to stay in the South

Side of Chicago but unfortunately he is

heavily influenced by his surroundings

and is often tempted by the easier way

of getting around problems. This attitude

often gets him into trouble, which he

then justifies with the fact that they

are Gallaghers. Then we have Ian. Ian is

an extremely particular character as

he isn't as outspoken and loud as the rest of

the family, preferring to meditate

and solve his own problems in silence.

And later in the series we have an even

deeper insight into his mind. On the

country of Lip though, he doesn't seem to

be so affected by the criminal activity

around him and he tends to mostly stay

out of trouble. Ian's sexual orientation is

the proof that although the members of the

the Gallagher family haven't received a

higher education, they are extremely

mature and understanding. Ian is a

homosexual and nobody has ever

criticized or even spoken much about his

sexual orientation, proving that there's

actually nothing to criticize or speak

about because it is just perfectly

normal. The mature acceptance of other

people's choices is actually a recurring

feature in "Shameless" again proving that

education or your social

background does not define you as a

person. And this again underlines why

"Shameless" is such an interesting TV

series. Frank and Monica also have a

daughter, Debbie. Debbie is a teenager

with premature motherly feelings so

she's always happy to look after her

smaller brother and often worries

about her family's issues, including her

father Frank's situation. As a matter of

fact Debbie often appears to be the only

person of the family that cares about

her father Frank and this feature is

often present throughout the series as

Frank starts to realize what Debbie has

always done for him. Although Debbie

might appear as a sweet and innocent

girl, she doesn't hesitate in viciously

defending her family and also proves to

be extremely cunning. Carl is another of

the younger siblings therefore he is

constantly exposed to his elder

relatives debatable life choices. As

a matter of fact at a very young age he

is already using offensive language,

trying to get his hands on weapons and

showing signs of violence towards his

schoolmates. This behaviour slowly shifts

into a thug life attitude, discarding

school and healthy life choices.

The smallest sibling is Liam, an extremely

quiet child which unfortunately

has to suffer the neglect, poor education

and bad role models his family sets for

him. All the children have a history of

being shuffled from one foster family to

another, the Gallagher name is well known

around the neighbourhood, social workers

have extensively tried to work on the

family's issues but wherever you go in

Chicago the name "Gallagher" immediately

rings a warning bell and the kids seem

to be doomed to a life with no choices.

Luckily they don't let their situation

bring them down and they always fight for

a better future. Other important

characters in "Shameless" are Kev and

Veronica, the Gallagher's neighbours and

best friends. The two families share nearly

everything, including clothes, personal

space and household items. Most of the

other characters in "Shameless" as I said

before, are the Gallaghers' lovers,

friends, co-workers and enemies. I have to

admit that towards the middle/end of the

series I found that the plot was starting

to be filled of unengaging facts,

maybe just to make the story continue. I

would have preferred it that middle/end

section had continued like the first

seasons in which we really saw the

development of the characters, we had

deep insights into their minds. Luckily

the series then had a psychological

peak at the end, with the seventh season

in which a lot of different leads that

had gone astray, started to reunite. So

"Shameless" sometimes is a comedy, we laugh at

what the characters say, at Frank's

absurd ways of making ends meet. But it

also has a dark dramatic side which

reminds us that we are laughing about

issues that unfortunately many families

are dealing with, without cameras rolling,

without maybe family unity and

alternative choices for the future. Let

me know if you saw "Shameless" with a

comment here below, or let me know if

you saw the original British series. And

I'll see you soon in a new video, bye!

Here's Why Liberals Are Suddenly Embracing the 2nd Amendment - Duration: 9:02.

Heres Why Liberals Are Suddenly Embracing the 2nd Amendment.

by Shaun Bradley.

Bureaucrats in California are ringing in the new year by doubling down on their failed

policies to stop gun violence.

As of January 1st, six new bills are being phased in that close the so-called bullet-button

loophole and require background checks to buy ammunition.

Another policy would have banned magazines that hold over ten rounds, but in a surprise

move, the magazine restriction was repealed on December 29th, just ahead of the deadline.

Although California has always been a poster child for the progressive agenda, support

for these extreme measures seems to have faded especially since the result of the presidential

election.

These new standards were signed by Governor Jerry Brown in the wake of the San Bernardino

attack last December, and in many ways, they mimic the registry created in Connecticut

after Sandy Hook.

Even though the changes solidify Californias status as the most draconian state when it

comes to gun rights, public opinion may be at a turning point.

The reality of a Trump administration has shocked many Californians into a newfound

appreciation for the 2nd Amendment.

Since November, there has been a record number firearms sold in the Golden State and

many of those buying them are liberals.

Hopefully, instead of being blinded by identity politics, this can be a moment for both parties

to realize gun ownership is a necessary check on centralized power.

The 2nd Amendment has long been a point of contention between the left and the right,

but perhaps a year like 2016 is what was needed to find some common ground.

Regardless of ones beliefs, when the president has far-reaching, violative power, concerns

of authoritarianism will inevitably come from both sides of the political spectrum.

An armed populace, though, has much less to fear from the whims of a dictator, whether

they are a fascist or a socialist.

Yet if the original magazine ban hadnt been repealed, thousands of innocent people

would have been turned into felons overnight.

Those who dont comply with the numerous other new stipulations are still at risk.

For this reason, those who oppose the drug war should empathize with gun owners who find

themselves in the crosshairs of the State.

People who have experimented safely with marijuana or psychedelics understand that when used

responsibly, they can be important tools in improving quality of life.

Thats why its infuriating to see politicians who have never experienced the benefits of

these substances make laws that put people in jail for simply possessing a plant.

But why isnt there the same anger when politicians who have never been in a fight

or shot a gun (yet are protected by armed bodyguards) create laws criminalizing individuals

choices on how they defend themselves?

The drug war uses law enforcement on non-violent people to enforce arbitrary victimless crimes,

but it is just as immoral when law-abiding gun owners are targeted by the State at the

behest of a fearful public.

This targeting amounts to the collectivization of millions of people, the vast majority of

whom will never harm anyone.

In the same way, the majority of cannabis or psychedelic users do not harm others let

alone themselves proving blanket bans unreasonably violate the rights of non-violent

individuals.

Further, instances where firearms are used in self-defense are almost never covered by

the press but lives saved by guns should carry significant weight in the discussion.

Taking away legal firearms only limits options for those who become victims when the police

arent close enough to intervene.

Obviously, not everyone has the desire to carry a firearm, just as there are many people

who have no interest in using drugs, but entrusting government as the mediator of what is reasonable

and ethical is a fatal mistake that has been highlighted throughout history.

The well-known tactics of doublespeak and problem-reaction-solution have been deployed

on the public to link societys perception of gun ownership to criminality.

Terms like bullet-button, high-capacity, automatic rifle, and ghost gun are all manipulative

words that have been used to confuse those who arent assimilated into American gun

culture.

With little personal experience on which to base their opinions, many liberals unquestionably

accept the States assertions that guns are to blame accusations that inevitably

follow these tragic scenarios.

Unfortunately, the government has a poor track record of addressing the root cause of the

issue and not just a symptom of the disease.

There is no amount of laws that can be written to solve the underlying societal problems

driving the violence, and like it or not, the weapons of millions of Americans are here

to stay.

When crucial information from the media is being intentionally omitted, the result can

be just as deceptive as an outright lie.

Even the infamous false claim that there were 355 mass shootings in 2015 made its rounds

and was regurgitated on major networks.

But deliberate wording was used to skew the data and guide the publics reaction.

Out of those 355 incidents, only a handful resulted in any loss of life, even though

the audience associated mass shootings with the few mass murders they had seen broadcast

non-stop.

The source of the data is a site called Mass Shooting Tracker, and their calculations are

vastly different than most would assume.

The organization clearly states how they define mass shootings on their web page:

The current FBI definition of mass murder, commonly accepted by the media as a proxy

for mass gun violence, is three or more people murdered in one event.

We believe this does not capture the whole picture.

Many people may survive a shooting based on luck aloneOur definition is this: a mass

shooting is an incident where four or more people are shot in a single shooting spree.

This may include the gunman himself, or police shootings of civilians around the gunman.

The statistics echoed throughout the mainstream media to convince the public that were

in the midst of a mass shooting epidemic and that assault rifles are largely to blame has

been a spectacle.

Even something as simple as the number of gun deaths is consistently inflated by the

rate of suicides, which are often included in tallies.

The gun control position would at least have some integrity if they went after the weapons

that are used in 68% of all murders handguns.

But instead of standing on the values they preach, gun control advocates turn to emotional

manipulation that undermines logic to target rifles, which account for only 3% of all murders.

FBI reports have consistently shown an overall decrease in violent crime, but only cities

that have instituted the strictest gun control, like Chicago, have fallen victim to unprecedented

turmoil turmoil that, if state gun laws worked, would be avoided.

The democratic nature of the United States is only valuable if it remains representative

of all opinions without marginalizing the rights of the minority.

The rise of the Calexit movement has created a unique opportunity to open up the debate

on the issue of state rights, which until now has mostly been associated with right-wing

parts of the country.

Hopefully, the perfect storm of political upheaval and government overreach can bring

people together behind individual freedom.

The new laws being implemented in California exemplify a failed solution to a complex problem.

If 2016 did one thing, it highlighted the differences in values and vision that separate

the ideologies of the nation.

In the pursuit of diversity, the differences in ideas have been placed on the back burner,

but if progress that is more than skin deep is going to be made, then all views even

the unpleasant ones need to be heard.

LONDON PHYSICIST CONFIDENT 2017 WILL BE THE BREAKTHROUGH YEAR FOR DISCOVERING ALIEN LIFE - Duration: 4:23.

LONDON PHYSICIST CONFIDENT: 2017 WILL BE THE BREAKTHROUGH YEAR FOR DISCOVERING ALIEN LIFE

A number of incredible discoveries in 2016 have led scientists searching for life on

other planets to conclude that they are quietly hopeful that 2017 will be the breakthrough

year when human beings will finally come up with conclusive proof of extra-terrestrial

life.

Scientists are always very cautious when it comes to proclaiming that they have found

life on other planets.

This is because there have been so many false alarms in the past which have led to disappointment

both among the scientific community and the public.

Dr. Simon Foster, a physicist, based at the prestigious Imperial College in London said;

In the past when we thought we had discovered aliens previously, it was a new form of star

called the pulsar.

We dont know hardly anything, and when we come up against something we dont know

or doesnt fit into out current understanding, it is quite nice to say that it could be aliens,

whereas a lot of it is just a phenomena that we havent discovered. But despite all

of that, Dr. Foster still believed that there was a reason to be confident that aliens would

be discovered in the near future.

Either way there is a breakthrough just around the corner, he said.

There are numerous reasons why scientists are becoming more certain that a breakthrough

is imminent.

Last year, scientists detected highly unusual pulse signals from deep space which they believe

are likely to have been caused by an advanced alien civilization.

The research is currently being reviewed by bodies such as SETI, but even if this particular

theory does not pan out, scientists believe that less sophisticated forms of life may

be discovered in this solar system in the coming year.

NASA and other large space agencies across the world are launching several exploratory

missions this year that may well reveal that this solar system is home to microbial life

forms.

According to Dr. Foster, the probe Cassini which is currently orbiting Saturn and its

moons is fairly likely to discover bacterial life.

Whats interesting is that one of Saturns moons, Enceladus, is an icy moon and that

leaves the tantalizing prospect of looking for life, he said.

He also suggested that another moon, Europa, may well have life in its vast underground

ocean.

In addition to this, scientists have recently discovered a new planet orbiting Proxima Centauri,

which is only four light years from Earth which they believe could be a very hospitable

environment for life.

According to Professor Phillip Lubin of the University of California at Santa Barbara,

The discovery of a possible planet around Proxima Centauri is very exciting.

It makes the case of visiting nearby stellar systems even more compelling. Later this

year, astronomers will use some of the worlds most powerful telescopes to search the planet

for life.

They've Learned Nothing – DNC Packs Itself With Former Clinton Insiders Before Leadership Vote - Duration: 3:02.

There's no question that over the last 12 months the Democratic National Committee has

been suffering through, well, a crisis of identity.

This crisis culminated this past summer when former chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz

was forced to resign in disgrace after the DNC email hack and all of the horrible things

that she had done came to the attention of the public.

She was replaced by interim-president and chairwoman Donna Brazile, and really since

Brazile took over the DNC has been looking for a new identity.

Or, at least that's what a lot of outside observers and lifelong democrats have been

telling the party to do.

Especially after the 2016 election loss of Hillary Clinton.

True to form, the DNC as they prepare to elect a new president in the coming weeks has absolutely

learned nothing from their failures of 2016 and prior to that.

Instead of addressing their issues, addressing the censure-ism that is essentially killing

the democratic party, addressing the issue of DC insiders and Clinton insiders running

the DNC who know nothing about politics anymore and have completely lost touch with the American

public, Donna Brazile decides to create a new department within the DNC, a war room

as they're calling it, whose focus is supposed to be digging up history on Donald Trump,

using that to take down his presidency and holding his feet to the fire.

Which is a great idea, until you look at the people that Donna Brazile has decided to staff

this new office with.

It's nothing but former Clinton campaign workers.

The same people who couldn't get Hillary Clinton to beat Donald Trump are now going to be in

positions of power within the DNC.

Zack Petkanas, Adrienne Watson, Tessa Simmons just to name a few here.

Those people are going to running this so-called war room.

Rather than actually focus on taking down Donald Trump their first priority is going

to be looking into this whole election hack thing and figuring out why these people wanted

to take down Hillary Clinton.

That's right, instead of focusing on taking down Donald Trump, they're making it once

again all about Hillary Clinton.

The DNC learned absolutely nothing from the 2016 elections.

It's time right now, top to bottom, leadership at the DNC has to go, or else they are going

to continue to fall into obscurity and lead the democratic party down the wrong path at

every given opportunity.

Is Coffee good or bad ? | Dr.Michael Greger - Duration: 4:51.

Dr. Michael Greger M.D. Physician and New York Times bestselling author

"Coffee "

Do coffee-drinkers live longer than non-coffee drinkers?

Is it "Wake up and smell the coffee" or

"Don't wake up at all?"

The largest study ever conducted on diet and health

put that question to the test,

examining the association between coffee drinking

with subsequent mortality among hundreds of thousands

of older men and women in the United States.

Coffee drinkers won, though the effect was modest.

10 to 15% lower risk of death

for those drinking 6 or more cups a day,

specifically due to lower risk of dying

from heart disease, respiratory disease, stroke,

injuries and accidents, diabetes, and infections.

That much coffee was found to increase the death rate

of younger people, though, under age 55.

Hence, based on this study, it may be appropriate

to recommend avoid drinking more than four cups a day.

But if you put all the studies together,

bottom line - coffee consumption

is associated with no change or a small reduction

in mortality starting around 1 or 2 cups a day,

for both men and women.

On a cup by cup basis, the risk of dying

was 3% lower for each cup of coffee consumed daily,

which all provides reassurance with respect to the concern

that coffee drinking might adversely affect health.

Well, at least, longevity.

Healthwise, though a recent population study found

NO link between coffee consumption and symptoms of GERD,

reflux disease such as heart burn and regurgitation,

if you actually stick a tube

down people's throats and measure pH,

coffee induces significant acid reflux,

whereas tea does not.

Is it just because tea has less caffeine?

No. If you reduce the caffeine content

of the coffee down to that of tea,

it still causes significantly more acid reflux.

Decaf did cause less, though, so GERD patients

might want to choose decaffeinated or even better, drink tea.

Coffee intake is also associated with urinary incontinence,

and so a decrease in caffeine intake should be discussed

with women who have the condition, or men.

About 2 cups of coffee a day worth of caffeine

may worsen urinary leakage in men as well.

A 2014 meta-analysis suggested that daily coffee consumption

was associated with a slightly increased risk

of bone fractures in women,

but a decreased risk of fractures in men.

Not hip fractures, though.

No significant association was found between coffee consumption

and the risk of hip fracture,

though tea consumption may actually be protective

against hip fracture, though appears to have

no apparent relationship with fracture risk in general.

There are certain populations in particular that may want

to stay away from caffeine,

for example those with glaucoma,

and possibly even those with a family history of glaucoma.

Goes without saying that people who have trouble sleeping

might not want to imbibe.

Even just a single cup at night can cause

a significant deterioration in sleep quality.

Then there are case reports, for example, of individuals

with epilepsy having fewer seizures after stopping coffee,

so I guess it's worth a shot.

We used to think caffeine might increase the risk

of an irregular heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation,

but that too was based on anecdotal case reports

like this one of a young woman who suffered atrial fibrillation

after chocolate intake abuse.

But these cases invariably involved the acute ingestion

of very large quantities of caffeine.

As a result, though, the notion that caffeine ingestion

may trigger abnormal heart rhythms had become "common knowledge",

and this assumption led to changes in medical practice.

More recently, however, the pendulum has swung

in the opposite direction. Why?

Because we actually have data now.

Caffeine does NOT increase the risk of atrial fibrillation.

And low-dose caffeine, which they defined

as less than about 5 cups of coffee a day,

may even have a protective effect.

Tea consumption also appears to lower cardiovascular disease risk,

especially when it comes to stroke.

However, given the proliferation of energy drinks

that contain massive quantities of caffeine,

one might want to temper any message that suggests

that caffeine is beneficial.

Seems a little patronizing, but it's no joke.

12 highly caffeinated energy drinks

within a few hours could be lethal.

How To Do The Dumbbell Concentration Curl: Easy Home Exercise/Workout Tips Online: ConcentrationCurl - Duration: 1:11.

- The dumbbell concentration curl is a fantastic isolation

of the upper, your front-er, front arm, the bicep.

This movement is done with a chair and a dumbbell.

Make sure you choose a weight

that you can do eight to 12 reps with.

From there you're gonna place your elbow

on the inside of your thigh.

Keep good upright posture.

Grab the weight and using your leg as a support,

a pivot point for your elbow,

all your focusing on is the contraction of your bicep.

(exhalation) Exhale. Relax it back down.

Keep good posture.

Curl it all the way to the chest.

Keep it under control throughout the entire movement.

It's not necessarily about speed;

it's about contracting and focusing on that bicep there.

Good posture. (exhalation)

Exhale as you're curling the weight upwards.

Eight to 12 reps

is a great number for building the muscle.

Choose a weight that challenges you there

but allows you to do that number of reps.

(exhalation)

How Old Is This Violin? - Duration: 3:40.

Howdy y'all.

Professor Patterson here.

Welcome to today's show: Probing Answers with Professor P.

[music]

The question we want to try to answer today is:

How would we know if this tree is older than, say, this random human?

To those interested in dating trees, instead of humans,

the answer to this question is very important.

But how do you think the public might answer this question?

Well, let's go ask a few of them!

Today, we are on the campus of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.

We're here today to find out if folks know how

to determine the age of this violin,

which is made of wood, without damaging it.

Let's go find out!

Well, there's a mark on there, it says Dresden.

The first thing I guess I would do would probably be to look into that.

I guess how it looks and how it's kind of rough on the edges

How would you know whether the wood that makes up this violin is older than you are?

It looks kind of aged, so that's probably how I could tell

I have no idea!

The lines.

If this is wood then it's made from a tree

and that's how you can tell the age of the tree

from the lines in the middle, the rings.

Also, just by appearance.

It does look older than I am, but it also kind of smells funny,

so that's another indication that it's older.

Because like what, old people smell funny or something?

[laughter]

I don't know, it just smells old almost, I don't know.

I think somebody would have to do some testing on the wood,

because I know there's carbon dating.

Well, actually you can look on the outside and look at the number of lines

that you have on the wood.

If you could somehow discern where the center is to the outside

you could possibly figure out how many years.

Well, there's a manufacturer in there so I would probably try to look it up.

I used to play violin so yea, the wood will be like a distinct color,

you can see like fading and like the edges are like more "rusty" on the sides.

I have no idea!

Well, there you have it folks.

The majority of people surveyed pretty much indicate that they're clueless when it comes

to determining the age of something made of wood.

Well, hey that's to be expected!

For those of you that are watching this video as part of the case study,

in Part 3, you'll learn basic tree anatomy.

Part 4 will help you learn and practice

common procedures used by dendrochronologists.

Those men and women who love dating trees!

It's called "skeleton plotting", and although it

sounds a little "halloweeny",

it's not.

Then in Part 5 you're going to see a demonstration

of an application of the procedure you learned in Part 4.

So, that's it!

This is Professor P., probing answers to life's most interesting questions.

Ryan: This Week is About Personal Improvement - Duration: 0:46.

This week is about personal improvement

and finding a handful of things that individually we all feel like we can do better.

And you know, I think that's important.

when you get out to the practice field, if you can work

on the details, the little things

that help you play well and try to improve one or two of those things this week in our practices

that's going to help us next week.

I think looking too far in front of you

worrying about who we're going to see or any of that kind of stuff

you know, it doesn't make a difference right now.

We'll find out who we're going to play and we'll go from there

But right now, guys have taken to heart

working on ourselves and trying to improve that way.
