VERNOR'S LAST STATE BUDGET

PROPOSAL WILL BE A TOUGH ONE.

THE GOVERNOR HAS ALREADY TALKED

ABOUT HOW STATE REVENUES WENT

DOWN LATE LAST YEAR.

HIS NEW BUDGET MANTRA IS DO NO

HARM.

REPUBLICAN HOUSE MINORITY LEADER

KEN FREDETTE IS ONE OF THE FEW

LAWMAKERS GETTING A HEADS-UP

ABOUT THE ADMINISTRATION'S PLAN.

HOUSE MINORITY LEADER,

QUITE FRANKLY, YOU'LL PROBABLY

SEE SPENDING CUTS PROPOSED,

PROBABLY REDUCTIONS IN

WORKFORCE, AND AN INCOME TAX

CUT, AND SO THIS IS GOING TO BE

A REALLY TOUGH BUDGET.

I SUSPECT IT WILL TAKE 5 MONTHS

AT LEAST TO GET THIS THING DONE,

AND IT'S GOING TO TAKE A LOT OF

WORK.

PAUL DEMOCRATIC HOUSE SPEAKER

: SARA GIDEON SAYS SHE LAST

SPOKE WITH THE GOVERNOR

THURSDAY.

>> WE'RE OPEN TO SEEING WHAT THE

GOVERNOR PRESENTS, BUT WHAT WE

WANT TO MAKE SURE IS THAT WE

HAVE GOVERNMENT THAT IS WORKING

FOR PEOPLE.

WE DON'T START WITH THE SIZE OF

SOMETHING; WE START WITH THE

FUNCTION OF SOMETHING AND WHAT

PEOPLE'S NEEDS ARE.

PAUL THERE ARE ALSO BURNING

: QUESTIONS ABOUT IMPLEMENTING

MAINE'S NEW MARIJUANA LAW.

SOME REPUBLICANS HOPE TO SLOW

THE ROLL-OUT, BUT DEMOCRATIC

SENATE MINORITY LEADER TROY

JACKSON SAYS THE VOTERS HAVE

SPOKEN.

>> I DON'T THINK WE NEED TO HAVE

A 12 OR 18-MONTH MORATORIUM.

I THINK WE JUST NEED TO DIG IN

AND CLEAR UP WHO'S GOING TO

HANDLE IT, WHAT THE COSTS ARE,

WHERE THE MONEY GOES.

PAUL: HOWEVER, BOTH SPEAKER

GIDEON AND REPUBLICAN SENATE

PRESIDENT MIKE THIBODEAU THINK

MAINE MAY NEED MORE THAN 9

MONTHS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO

REGULATE AND TAX LEGAL POT.

>> I'LL BE SURPRISED IF THE

OTHER SIDE DOESN'T RECOGNIZE

SOME OF THE SHORTCOMINGS OF WHAT

WAS PASSED AND BE WILLING TO

HAVE DISCUSSIONS SURROUNDING IT.

>> I THINK BOTH OF US ARE NOT

SURE THAT'S THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF

TIME, AND I AM WILLING TO LOOK

AT PUSHING THAT OUT A LITTLE BIT

FURTHER.

HE AND I ARE DISCUSSING THAT

RIGHT NOW.

I THINK WE'LL PROBABLY COME TO

AN AGREEMENT IN THE NEXT COUPLE

OF DAYS.

PAUL: THERE'S ALSO A PUBLIC

MEETING SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW

AFTERNOON ABOUT THE

CONTROVERSIAL STEP-DOWN STATE

PSYCHIATRIC FACILITY.

IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE BUILT AT

RIVERVIEW IN AUGUSTA.

AFTER DEMOCRATS STALLED THE

PROCESS LATE LAST YEAR, THE

ADMINISTRATION STARTED PUSHING

REFIGHTER SOMEDAY, BUT IF HE

DOES, IMPERSONATING ONE IS A

GOOD WAY TO MAKE SURE THAT DREAM

NEVER COMES.

YOU KNOW FIREFIGHTERS WHEN YOU

SEE THEM, USUALLY.

BUT, ON NOVEMBER

28 DURING A

ROUTINE TRAFFIC STOP, A POLICE

OFFICER DISCOVERED HE HAD PULLED

OVER A FIREFIGHTER.

RICHARD STINSON HAD BLUE LIGHTS

ON HIS VEHICLE AND CLAIMED TO BE

A FIREFIGHTER IN CLEAR LAKE AND

SOLDIER CREEK, NEBRASKA.

>> WE DID CHECK WITH CLEAR LAKE

AND THEY HAD NO RECORD OF HIM.

WE WEREN'T EVEN ABLE TO LOCATE

THE OTHER AGENCY IN NEBRASKA.

MARK: TWO WEEKS LATER, STINSON

WAS ASKED TO COME TO THE AMES

POLICE DEPARTMENT TO TALK ABOUT

THE BLUE LIGHTS ON HIS CAR.

HE PRESENTED DOT PAPERWORK THAT

WOULD AUTHORIZE SOMEONE TO USE

BLUE LIGHTS SIGNED BY HIMSELF,

CLAIMING HE OWNED OF A PRIVATE

FIRE COMPANY.

>> HE WAS SAYING HE OWNED THE

COMPANY, THEREFORE HE'S THE FIRE

CHIEF SO HE CAN SIGN HIS OWN

PAPERWORK.

IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY.

MARK: THREE DAYS LATER, STINSON

PULLED UP TO AN ACCIDENT AT DUFF

AND AIRPORT ROAD IN AMES AND

TOLD BOTH DRIVERS HE WAS A

FIREFIGHTER-PARAMEDIC.

3 DAYS LATER AND HE'S OUT THERE

DOING IT AGAIN, HE WASN'T SCARED

OFF?

>> IT'S A LITTLE BIT ODD.

MARK: ANOTHER THING THAT'S A

LITTLE BIT ODD, SINCE STINSON

WAS ARRESTED BY NEVADA POLICE

THIS MORNING, HE STILL ISN'T

BACKING DOWN.

>> HE CONTINUES TO TELL US THAT

HE'S WORKED VOLUNTEER

Grayson Allen returns as starter for Duke after 1-game suspension

Duke junior guard Grayson Allen will start against Georgia Tech on Wednesday night after missing one game for tripping Elon's Steven Santa Ana.

Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski announced Allen's indefinite suspension on Dec. 22 after reviewing video of the play.

It was Allen's third such tripping incident in the past calendar year; the two other incidents occurred last season.

Duke went 0-1 without Allen, losing to Virginia Tech on Saturday. Allen accompanied the team on the trip but did not dress.

He is the Blue Devils' second-leading scorer this season, averaging 16.0 points per game.

After the Virginia Tech game, Krzyzewski stripped Allen of his captaincy.

Freshman Harry Giles will make his first start of the season against the Yellow Jackets. Giles has played just 23 minutes this season.

The highly touted freshman has been sidelined with a sore left knee since October.

Giles' left knee was reconstructed following ligament tears that occurred during his sophomore year of high school,

and when practice began in October for the Blue Devils, the knee still wasn't right.

So Duke's medical staff completed an arthroscopic procedure on Oct. 3 that

kept Giles out of practice and the Blue Devils' first 11 games of the 2016-17 season.

Wednesday's game also marks Krzyzewski's last before taking what is expected to be a four-week leave for back surgery.

Anchor Becomes the News as Megyn Kelly Leaves Fox News for NBC

Megyn Kelly's new office at NBC News sits a block north of Fox News headquarters in Midtown Manhattan. But it might as well be a world away.

In switching networks at a pivotal point in her career, Ms. Kelly, the No. 2-rated personality in cable television news,

is taking a calculated risk that she can swap her dedicated Fox audience for the broader, but more fickle, viewership of network television.

There are challenges from the get-go. Her splashy arrival has the potential to fray nerves among the big personalities at the network —

who already compete against one another for interviews and scoops. Ms. Kelly, 46, will also be taking on

a daytime talk show format that has been a virtual graveyard for television news personalities in the last 10 years.

And the new Sunday newsmagazine show that NBC plans to build around Ms. Kelly will go up against

a giant that has not been meaningfully challenged for decades: "60 Minutes" on CBS.

Still, Ms. Kelly is a bona fide star with a best-selling book and a breakout role in this year's presidential campaign,

when she clashed with Donald J. Trump. NBC News comes out the winner in one of the most closely watched talent sweepstakes in years,

acquiring one of television's biggest names who could play a role in any number of major network events, like coverage of elections or the Olympics.

Interviews on Tuesday with network executives and producers — from Fox, NBC and other rival channels — suggest

that Ms. Kelly's performance at NBC will be as closely watched in the industry as her past few months of contract negotiations.

Ms. Kelly will have to design her daytime talk show from scratch. Even though she made her name as a news anchor,

she has argued that she is not obsessed with politics. When she hosted a prime-time special on Fox in May —

her first major foray outside cable news — she expressed a desire to combine the qualities of Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters and Charlie Rose...

Congressman's Son Grounded for Trying to Dab - Duration: 1:22.

Hey guys, what's going on?

For Complex News, I'm Tamara Dhia.

Apparently the dab was not left in 2016 because yesterday the 17-year-old son of newly-minted

Kansas Representative Roger Marshall tried to upstage his dad's press photo with House

Speaker Paul Ryan by hitting the dab.

Either Paul Ryan doesn't watch sports:

Or Ellen:

Or hasn't checked the internet in the past year:

Because he had no idea what the kid was doing and even asked if he needed to sneeze.

Watch:

Unfortunately pa dukes wasn't into his son's little move and reached out to Paul Ryan to

let him know he handled the situation.

Just so you know: He's grounded.

Damn.

Can't blame the kid for trying right?

That's all we got for now but for the rest of today's updates be sure to subscribe to

SPECIAL TRAINING

Only THREE food

service directors in the

Tascin Brooks-- with

Austintown and

Natalie Winkle with

Both women love

their job, and are

always thinking of

creative ways to serve

food to students-- and

still meet standards.

Austintown has a

Boardman launched a

to make healthy

snacks.

When the ladies head

to the produce safety

university, they're

going to learn about

fresh produce safety.

There's a push for

farm to school, but

food service directors

have to learn about

the process-- from the

beginning stages on

the farm.

They're also going to

learn how to properly

handle and clean it, to

make sure NO

bacteria is passed

along to kids.

ONE OF THE THINGS

THAT WE CAN DO IS

HIGHLIGHT

DIFFERENT FARMS

AND BRING

DIFFERENT THINGS

IN. MAYBE WE CAN

TRY DIFFERENT

KINDS OF SQUASH

HAVE NO IDEA
