The DeveloPPP Project and 1,670 MW for micro-cogeneration in Mexico - English Subtitles - Duration: 3:24.

You spoke about micro cogeneration in this congress,

which are the most attractive markets in Mexico for this technology?

Yes, so by micro cogeneration we are referring to

cogeneration on a small and medium scale,

up to around 500 kilowatts,

and this can be implemented in shopping centres,

mainly in the hotel sector and also in the hospital sector.

In Mexico, we are dealing with a potential

of around 1670 Megawatts of power from micro cogeneration projects,

where the largest potential is found specifically

in what we would call the 5-star hotel sector.

You also spoke about the DeveloPPP programme,

could you explain a little about this?

Yes, of course.

The DeveloPPP projects are an instrument from the German cooperation (GIZ)

in order to collaborate with the private sector.

The aim of these projects is to develop new technology

in any country, in this case Mexico, or to implement

some new regulating instruments in the Mexican market.

For this purpose an alliance is established between a company

which generally has European capital and the GIZ

that receives funds from the German Ministry for Cooperation,

and these resources are used to implement actions

that have the objective of developing this new technology

but that at the same time may be beneficial for the country,

contribute in this case to the UN millennium development goals,

improve the environment and such;

so in this sense we have formed an alliance

to implement a micro cogeneration project in a university.

The objective of this project is to reduce

the CO2 emissions generated by the thermal sector

through the implementation of micro cogeneration

and also to develop local consultancy for this type of systems.

So we can say that it is a project

that is divided in 4 very well defined phases.

The first is to identify

heat consumption in the country through a heat map,

to identify what type of technology is used in this heat consumption,

and also identify the status of this technology.

We are discussing broken down, badly sized, and ageing boilers,

and also identifying

what potential micro cogeneration projects of this nature could have.

Once this heat map has been identified

what we want to do now is to implement a pilot project

and for this reason we have selected a public university,

which is the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Iztapalapa campus,

where a micro turbine is going to be installed.

After this we are going to hold promotion and dissemination events,

making the most of the Cogenera Mexico platform to do so;

we are going to share the heat map as well as the results,

both technical and economic, of the pilot project.

Then after this the most ambitious part of this project is

to be able to create a roundtable discussion

between the private sector and the public sector,

between the Energy Regulatory Commission, the Secretary of Energy,

the National Commission for Efficient Energy Use,

the Electrical Energy Trust,

in order to sit down and be able to discuss

how, through public policy,

these micro cogeneration projects can be implemented

and how the thermal sector in Mexico can become more efficient.

Choi Soon-sil a no-show for independent counsel summons; other key figures questioned - Duration: 2:15.

Let's turn our attention to the investigation into the Choi Soon-sil case.

Key figures including the woman at the center of it all were summoned for questioning

The special prosecutors may have found a new lead that could possibly more strongly implicate

Choi Hwang Hojun files this reports from the independent

counsel office.

The independent counsel team re-called four key figures for questioning on Wednesday.

Three of them appeared -- Choi's niece Chang Si-ho; President Park's former presidential

secretary, Jeong Ho-seong... and the former senior presidential secretary for policy coordination,

Ahn Jong-beom.

But while Choi Soon-sil, the woman at the heart of the scandal, was also summoned, she

didn't appear, citing psychological trauma as the reason for her inability to show up.

During an afternoon briefing, the independent counsel team said it didn't know exactly what

she meant by that, but the spokesperson indicated that it could be related to the news of her

daughter's arrest in Denmark.

The first and only time Choi has ever complied with a summons was on Christmas Eve.

Since then, she's continued to refuse, citing health reasons.

The team's spokesperson, Lee Kyu-chul, also mentioned that if Choi continues to fail to

comply with the summons, the team could request a new arrest warrant to bring her in on new

charges.

The spokesperson specifically mentioned charges of bribery.

Meanwhile, the independent counsel team has confirmed that the Danish High Court has dismissed

Chung Yoo-ra's appeal of a lower court decision to extend her detention in the country to

30 days.

Back here in Korea, the independent counsel team says it will continue to pursue extradition.

"We've confirmed the extradition request will be settled today and then sent to the justice

ministry.

Since the justice ministry has already translated the arrest warrant, the process will start

as soon as it receives the request."

"However, the team also says it's highly likely that Chung will return to Korea of her own

volition, because she will have to be separated from her 19-month-old son while she's in detention

in Denmark.

And experts say her return could serve as a catalyst for the investigation, possibly

leading Choi to become a bit more cooperative.

Korea records current account surplus for 57 consecutive months in Nov 2016 - Duration: 1:45.

A rise in exports helped keep Korea's current account balance in the black for a record

57th consecutive month.

Data from the Bank of Korea show the biggest on-year increase in exports in 29 months.

Kim Hyo-sun looks beyond the numbers.

Korea maintained its current account surplus for the 57th straight month in November.

According to preliminary data from the Bank of Korea on Wednesday,... the nation's current

account surplus came to 8-point-9-9 billion U.S. dollars... thanks to a rise in exports.

While that's a 270-million-dollar increase in the surplus compared to the previous month,

it's a drop of ten percent from a year earlier.

Most notable in November was a surplus in the goods account -- up 690 million dollars

... to a total of 10-point-5-2 billion.

Overall exports jumped 7-point-7 percent on year to a total volume of nearly 46-and-a-half

billion U.S. dollars -- the first on-year increase since June 2014.

The central bank attributed the turnaround in exports mainly to a revitalization of the

global semiconductor and chemical industries and a recovery in unit prices for steel products.

Imports also jumped 10-point-6 percent to 35-point-9 billion dollars.

The BOK noted that imports rose in November by the biggest percentage in over 4 years...

partly due to a hike in oil prices.

Based on November's cross-border trade volumes, a central bank analyst said that the fourth

quarter of last year looks to be heading in a positive direction.

I'm Tyler Dillon.

Brittany, Staci, and I are ESU orientation staff,

and we would like to show you some of the important offices

that you can find located in our Student Enrollment Center.

ESU's Student Enrollment Center is found on the first floor of Zimbar-Liljenstein Hall,

or as we students refer to it as Zimbar.

The building is located on Center Street, or right next to the Eiler-Martin Football

Stadium.

If you're need of help with financial aid, student accounts,

student records, class registration, or transfer services,

Zimbar is where it's at.

On the left you will see our Veteran's Center.

ESU sincerely thanks all the Veterans that have sacrificed their selfless services

to our country.

ESU veteran's center is a one stop service center

that is assists student veterans and their families with their educational

needs.

It provides help with veteran's benefits, issues,

and resources, so that veterans could obtain an ESU degree.

The center is a designated green area and a lounge and kitchen areas are available

for veterans to meet with other veterans.

ESU participates in the Yellow Ribbon program for out of state student veterans,

holds seminars, meet and greet socials, and hosts an annual university wide Veteran's

Day recognition event.

The Student Veterans of ESU is a branch of the Student Veterans Association

that meets at the center on a regular basis.

Just passed the Veteran's Center is the Student Enrollment Center's Nemo Q

touch screen system.

Nemo Q is a touch screen system that directs students and their families to

an enrollment specialist, who can help them with their specific needs.

Let me show you how it works!

First, you start by swiping your eCard, then choose a service that you would like

to access.

As you can see here, we have a list of services that you can choose from:

Billing and payment, Faculty, Financial Aid, Graduation, Records, Registration,

Transfer Student, and Veterans.

Also, Parking permits.

Let's click on Financial Aid.

A ticket number will be printed with your number and approximate wait time.

If there's enough time for you leave and make a quick visit elsewhere on campus,

your estimated wait time will be of help.

Digital monitors throughout campus display ticket numbers,

so you can plan accordingly and return to Zimbar in time

for your meeting with the staff member.

You can also check your ticket number status on the ESU phone app

or you can have a seat in our lounge area where snack vending and wi-fi are available.

An announcer will call your ticket number to let you know where to proceed

when your Financial Aid counselor becomes available.

Before we visit our Financial Aid area, let's make a quick stop at our front counter.

Here student account specialists will advise and assist you with

and to help with course registration, changes in class schedules,

changes of major, midterm and final grades, and student athlete compliance.

The staff members in this area will handle most of your general enrollment processes.

Moving on to Financial Aid, our financial aid specialists assist students

and parents with grants, scholarships, and loans.

Each Financial aid counselor assists students according to his or her group of students

assigned by the student's last name.

By providing the student's name to a Student Enrollment Center staff member

you will be guided to your financial aid counselor.

Let's move on to the Transfer Center!

Here in our Transfer Center specialists are available to help students

that are joining ESU from community colleges, other colleges, and universities.

Here, transfer students will find out how their transfer courses apply

to the degree program they wish to pursue at ESU

and get answers to questions that will ease their transition.

All new students will be able to get answers to questions regarding the

college level examination program, or CLEP, advance placement courses,

and international bachelorette test scores.

Now we're in the Enrollment Support suite.

If you have any questions about where to go or who to see, please stop here first.

This is our guest information hub of the Student Enrollment Center.

We have one more stop, the Bursar's office.

The Bursar is responsible for student billing.

You'll consult this office if you have specific matters relating to your tuition and fees,

We are excited here in Student Enrollment Center to be taking this journey with you.

I wanted to spend some time to just give you top 5 items that you also need to know about,

beginning with the academic calendar, the academic catalogue,

talk to you a little bit about your academic advisor as well as our book voucher program,

parking permits, and maybe some other items.

The academic calendar is going to be an important tool for you here at ESU

both for you students as well as parents.

Students you would be interested to know that the academic calendar can let you know

about things like, when you are going to be having your final

exams, deadlines for grades, when registration will

begin And parents it's important that you also

know about the academic calendar, so you know when the semester begins, when

it ends, when we have breaks, and you can also remind your students in regards

to different academic events.

I'd also like to tell you about the Undergraduate Catalogue,

which is a very important document here at ESU.

The Undergraduate Catalogue contains lots of information in regards to our policies,

as well as your program requirements.

And it is a documented tool that both the parents,

you the parents, as well as our students need to be familiar

with.

So for our parents it contains lots of information those

do's and don'ts, things that are procedures and policies that our students need to follow,

which would be very important for you to also become familiar with,

so that you can help us help our students become successful as well.

It contains the program requirements, which will outline for you the courses that

you need in your degree program in order to be successful

here at ESU.

So we want you to become familiar with those courses as well

and the sequence in which to take the courses in.

The Academic Catalogue is also a tool you would use along with your Academic Advisor

and your Academic Advisor is a faculty member that is in your major department, so that's

very important because that person is going to be very familiar

with your major and can guide you.

They're going to develop a plan of action for you to become successful here at ESU,

so both parents and students if you familiarize yourself with the catalogue

we hope that this tool will also act as something for you to be successful here at ESU.

A good majority of our students here at ESU are receiving Financial Aid,

and as a result they may get a refund.

Refunds can be turned into a book voucher for you to use in the University Store.

You can use the book voucher to purchase your textbooks

and your school supplies for the classroom, so if you ever need a book voucher

please visit us in the Student Enrollment Center.

If you are eligible to bring a car on campus, then you need to make sure that you have an

ESU parking permit.

You can pre-register your vehicle online prior to coming to campus,

then stop by the ESU Enrollment Center for you to pick up your hang tag.

The final thing I would like to mention today is our residency requirements.

There is a difference between residency requirements for Pennsylvania students,

as opposed to our out of state students.

If there is ever a question in your mind about your residency requirements

do not hesitate to contact us in the Student Enrollment Center.

We will be happy to work that process out with you.

It was a huge burden for me to adopt without the support of my brother - Duration: 3:17.

I would say the nicest thing was just the general support. The nicest thing people

told me was just that they were happy for me and that I would make a great father,

that some kid was going to be extremely lucky, you know? The support of just

having people in your corner at this particular point is invaluable because,

you know, it's an emotional process and to have people, especially the ones you love,

in your corner, it means the world.

It's a huge burden if you don't, and I know that, because my brother is

the one who probably gave me the hardest part when I...before, when I said

I was starting the whole process, my brother was really upset with me.

My brother and I are extremely close. He's my best friend, and I convinced him to

move out here, you know, we just...and we don't go a week without at least talking.

He lives in West Hollywood. And he was really upset with me.

He was just like, "Did you ever just talk to me? Why did you do this without talking

to me about it first?" You know, "This affects not just you." And it took a long

time, I'd say it took almost a year for him to finally come around and apologize

that he was acting a certain way, and that he would be there for me,

and that he didn't want...he didn't want me to think that he wasn't on my side.

Well, I think he...my brother was upset because it meant that his best friend was

going to be unavailable for the things that we had been doing together for the

past 15 years or so. We weren't going to be able to stay up all night drinking,

and conversing, and having trips to here, or trips to there, or just the two of us

hanging out. You know, I think he thought he was losing a brother and a friend.

And I think that it took him some time to come around, you know,

and I think my dad, it took some time for him to come around, and I think he's still

coming around, you know. It helps whenever he sees Nolan and how amazing Nolan is,

and I know that my brother, actually, has had to speak to my dad about it.

And so...I mean, my mom's been in my corner from day one, you know?

From the moment I announced this whole thing, she's been nothing but positive,

you know? Nothing but supportive and it's...I am just very happy

that she's been there. She's been valuable, like, invaluable, especially

after Nolan was born. I don't know if I could've gotten through the first,

like, three months without her, so. But yeah, just the support,

you know, it's great to have it, it doesn't all come right away.

My brother did come around, and it was hard going through a process

without his support in the beginning.

Quick Tip: Gross Motor Development Curriculum - Duration: 3:44.

Tristan Pierce, an APH project leader, explains the book, Gross Motor Development Curriculum.

Photos are shown of activities as she describes them.

The Gross Motor Development Curriculum for Children With Visual Impairments by the American

Printing House for the Blind is a new curriculum written by Dr. Pamela Haibach, shown here,

using cadence to teach a young girl to skip, and Dr. Lauren Lieberman, shown here, providing

physical guidance to a young girl learning the underhand roll.

Haibach and Lieberman are respected professors from The College at Brockport, SUNY.

This curriculum addresses the specific needs of children with visual impairments based

upon research findings on fundamental motor skills.

The curriculum is divided into two parts: Part I discusses the general instructional

strategies that are effective in teaching gross motor skills to students with visual

impairments; Part II details specific teaching techniques, cues, and modified equipment for

instruction of 17 gross motor skills.

Teachers, parents, para-educators, and specialists will find this curriculum helpful and easy

to use and that it works well with many physical fitness or motor development assessments that

are available to teachers.

The instructional strategies include pre-teaching, whole-part-whole instruction, verbal instruction,

task analysis, and tactile teaching.

To begin, the curriculum teaches the perceptual motor skill of balance, which is extremely

important because it is the foundation upon which we learn locomotor skills and object

control skills.

For example, to learn the locomotor skill to run, practice walking with the student

in a front-back tandem using poles or hockey sticks to teach arm movements in opposition

to leg movements.

The curriculum includes strategies from hopping on one leg, and the horizontal jump to galloping,

sliding, and leaping.

Use coactive movement to keep cadence when teaching the skill to skip.

The curriculum provides instructional strategies for seven Object Control Skills.

Students will learn strike or bat using the two-hand strike and the one-hand forehand

strike.

Students learn to tap their finger pads on a tabletop before dribbling a balloon or basketball.

Strategies include learning to catch a rolling ball before catching a ball in the air.

Learn to kick a ball from a sitting position before tackling the step approach.

The overhand throw and the underhand roll round out the object control skills.

To prevent undue fatigue and to develop ample energy for sports and recreation, the curriculum

includes strategies for two very important physical fitness skills that should be part

of every daily exercise regime, the curl-up and the push-up.

Both exercises strengthen the core and promote good posture.

The Gross Motor Development Curriculum includes a 32-minute instructional video.
