I think 2018 is an important year it's the centenary of when women were first

given the right to vote in this country it took another 10 years for them to get

the vote on the same terms as men and then 50 years ago in 1968 it was the

strike by the sewing-machinists at Ford Dagenham that led to the Equality Act in

1970 and this was the first legislation that talked about equality and it's

remarkable that 48 years later women still earn less than men I think the law

can provide a framework for equality but what we need is real equality that

matters on a day to day basis we need to tackle unconscious bias and stereotyping

which often starts at early age in our school years and it's the subjects that

girls are encouraged to take and study and the career paths that they are

encouraged to follow and more importantly it's how women are perceived

in the workplace you know once they decide to have children flexible working

is great but in 2018 I only have the right to request flexible working I

don't have the right to work flexibly you know the Equality and Human Rights

Commission estimates the 54 thousand mothers a year are forced to leave their

jobs after they become pregnant that's a serious waste of talent in this country

I think the gender pay gap in the UK is largely attributable to the fact that

women have childcare and caring responsibilities this pay gap widens for

women in their mid-thirties and this is probably likely because this is the age

when women have childcare or carrying responsibilities and it's at this point

in their careers they request flexible working and if you are fortunate enough

to get sent flexible working sometimes you know women can develop a sense of

gratitude and gratefulness sort of sets in not wanting to rock the boat what in

what was once a career with good prospects can soon become a job where

the trajectory and this is where the pay gap

grows and widens I think there needs to be proper investment into high quality

and affordable childcare we need to have better paid leave provisions for fathers

and carers and importantly I think we need to have paid transparency gender

pay gap reporting is not enough sadly you know in my lifetime women will not

be paid equally with men I hope in my son's lifetime it might happen equality

is a struggle but equality is about dignity and equality is our right equal

means equal

MagFIX for S&W M&P Shield 9/40 - Duration: 4:19.

hey folks welcome to the Safety Solutions Academy so glad to have you

here today as we take a look at a quick tutorial video on how to assemble your

new mag fix for the Smith & Wesson M&P shield 9 and 40 that's right the mag fix

it's a real thing here is the mag fix it is a new baseplate and sleeve for the

Smith & Wesson M&P it helps to solve some of the common problems if you want

to learn more about it head to magfix.co now let's go ahead and jump

into that assembly but before we start the work let's put together some items

that help us to make sure the installation goes smoothly

we don't need any special tools but of course we do need a factory Smith &

Wesson M&P magazine you're also gonna need a mag fix if you don't already have

a mag fix just head to magfix.co you can pick one

up and I'll get it shipped right on out to you we're gonna need some kind of a

tool to release the locking plate on your magazine for that I like to use

just a regular old ballpoint pen and to protect our eyes while we're doing the

work because the magazine is under spring tension we're gonna need some

safety glasses let's go ahead and pull out this magazine and get started this

one is brand new and fresh from the factory we'll get rid of that packaging

and the step that we need to take care of first is to get rid of this sleeve

this is one of the problems this sleeve slides up and down freely

well that's gone next we're gonna use our ballpoint pen to depress this little

locking button on that locking plate we're simply gonna press that button in

and then we're gonna slide the baseplate forward slightly not gonna remove it all

the way I'm just gonna take it off just a touch next thing I'll do is I'll go

ahead and I'll open up the mag fix I packaged them up so they're nice and

easy to open just open the ziplock bag at the bottom

you can then go ahead and separate the two parts it did include a little bit of

sticky glue on there to help keep things looking good

in the package just pull that right off and that's finished and now we're gonna

go ahead and we're gonna install the base plate I'm simply going to take this

base plate and I'm gonna slide it in behind the factory plate and you'll

notice that I'm never going to even have to worry about capturing that spring the

base plate does it for me next we'll take and put our sleeve into place we'll

just slide it all the way down to the bottom so that it's flush and finally

I'm just gonna push that base plate all the way forward and it's locked and

ready to go I want to make sure that this button on

the base plate is fully extended into the base plate so that it's locked in

place and there you have it folks you now have installed your mag fix on

your smith and wesson M&P extended magazine you've installed a tool that's

gonna improve the performance by helping the magazine to drop free by locking the

sleeve into place and by giving you some extra grippynes in case you need to deal

with a stuck mag during a malfunction and improve your grip on the gun during

shooting I'm really thrilled with how it is that the mag fix project turned out

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Step Out Together for International Women's Day At Birmingham - Duration: 3:12.

As Meghan Markle said last week, "there's no better time" to shine a light on women's

issues.

With the help of her fiancé, Prince Harry, the two marked International Women's Day

in a very special way — and made at least one little girl very happy.

The couple, who will tie the knot in May, traveled to the heart of England in Birmingham

to meet with locals and showcase some of the causes and interests that they want to champion

in their royal life.

As soon as they arrived on Thursday, Harry and Meghan — in a J. Crew coat, black cropped

trousers by Alexander Wang, and a wool and cashmere jumper by AllSaints — went on a

walkabout outside the Millennium Point building, greeting excited locals like they have in

Nottingham, Cardiff, Wales and Edinburgh, Scotland.

During their quick visit with locals, Harry made a 10-year-old budding actress' day

when he took her to meet his fiancée.

The prince, 33, asked Sophia Richards, from Oasis Academy, Warnson, what she wanted to

be when she was older.

When she replied, he took her by the hand over to Meghan, 36.

"Meghan told me that I can achieve whatever I want to achieve.

And Meghan said she would like to see me on TV when I become an actress," Richards says.

"It was a dream come true.

I will never forget this day."

Meghan then gave her a hug before Harry took her back to her classmates.

And on International Women's Day, the advancement of females in science and engineering fields

was at the front of their minds.

Inside the Millennium Point, Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, joined young people at an event

hosted by the social enterprise, Stemettes, where young women were taking part in a variety

of activities designed to boost recognition of science, technology, engineering and math–based

education and jobs.

Only 21 percent of those working in STEM occupations in 2016 in the U.K. were women, according

to Judith Armstrong, CEO of Millennium Point, who called their visit a "great honor."

"Millennium Point is the West Midlands' focal point for promoting STEM and is committed

to providing the young people of the region with the opportunities to be the pioneers

of the future," she added.

During International Women's Day in 2015, Meghan gave an impassioned speech at a UN

Women conference in New York in which she discussed gender equality.

"I am proud to be a woman and a feminist, and this evening I am extremely proud to stand

before you on this significant day, which serves as a reminder to all of us of how far

we've come, but also amid celebration a reminder of the road ahead," she said.

"It is said that girls with dreams become women with vision.

May we empower each other to carry out such vision — because it isn't enough to simply

talk about equality.

One must believe it.

And it isn't enough to simply believe in it.

It's Not TMI: Episode 4-How Should I Wash My Vulva for Optimal Hygiene? - Duration: 4:05.

Hi everyone

Welcome back to my channel. My name is Lisa Flanders, I'm a physiotherapist in Ottawa, Ontario

And I practice in a women's health and pelvic floor physiotherapy. I have such a great topic to talk about today on it's not TMI

Should I be washing my vulva and vagina?

For optimal feminine hygiene. This is a great topic and a great question and one I think that needs special attention

Plus it means I get to use my vulva puppet

So you actually don't have to wash your vulva or your vagina as they are both self-cleaning

You can think of it kind of like a self-cleaning oven

Women have a lot of glands that sit inside the labia majora

inside the labia minora as well as inside the vagina that function to produce fluids and

circulate discharging any unwanted bacteria or waste

Our labia, also typically sit in a closed position and that also helps to keep any unwanted waste or bacteria out

The inside of the vagina actually has an acidic ph and

Washing with harsh soaps or feminine hygiene products can actually disrupt that normal pH balance

This might increase some of the odors that are coming out of your vagina or increase vaginal discharge as your body's try to reset itself

This can actually also increase your risk of yeast infections

Sometimes the products that we use on the vulva can actually contribute to painful conditions so things like

Vestibulodynia which is pain around the vaginal opening in the vestibule or vulvodynia which is pain around the vulva

So what about vaginal odor? There are many things that can contribute to a normal and healthy vaginal odor

things like healthy bacteria

sex

Sweat, your diet, and your menstrual cycle

Now there are times that vaginal odor can actually indicate something is wrong

So if you have an abnormal vaginal odor that persists, then I highly recommend you speak to your health care professional

What are my tips for optimal vulvar care and hygiene?

When washing the vulva use a gentle cloth and warm water is all you need

Avoid vaginal douching and harsh soaps is this can actually disrupt the body's normal pH balance

When going to the washroom make sure you always wipe from front to back

Regardless of whether you've had a bowel movement, you want to avoid spreading any bacteria from the rectum back into the vulva

At nighttime try to sleep in the nude, as this is going to allow the vulva to breathe

If you do feel like you have to wear something to bed, wear loose-fitting

cotton underwear

When you're looking at feminine hygiene products you want to make sure that they are scent free and free from parabens

This includes things like pads and tampons

If you're using a personal lubricant for intercourse again make sure that it's flavor, perfume, and paraben free

Lastly look at everything else that comes into contact with your vulva

Things like laundry detergent and toilet paper should also be scent and paraben free

What is the take-home message from this video? Make sure you take care of your vulva because a healthy vulva is a happy vulva

If you do have any pain, itching, or dryness around the vulva or if you are highly susceptible to yeast infections

then I highly recommend that you speak with your doctor or other health care professional to start on a treatment plan that is right for

You.
