Waching daily Mar 27 2018

At this grocery store, you can get produce from all over the world like

this kiwi fruit from New Zealand

dragonfruit from Vietnam

and this avocado from Mexico.

Soon all these fruits will get cheaper, but only for consumers in 11 countries.

That's because of the world's biggest trade deal since NAFTA.

The TPP 11, or the CPTPP, is the world's newest trade deal.

It was signed by 11 countries on March 8.

CPTPP stands for:

It's a mouthful, but it sounds familiar, doesn't it?

This trade deal was previously known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership and included the U.S.

The TPP deal had been signed in 2016, but American President Donald Trump

withdrew the U.S. on his third day in the job.

Great thing for the American worker.

Many experts thought that meant the end of the TPP.

Without the U.S., the TPP 11's share of global GDP went from 38% to about 13.5%.

But the 11 countries, led by Japan, surprised experts and pushed through the deal.

It's now the world's third biggest trade bloc by GDP.

Many people are excited about the CPTPP because it's seen as a high-quality trade deal.

That's because the CPTPP involves deep, fast tariff cuts - and a lot of them.

It also includes many areas not typically covered in trade agreements.

I think you'll be pleased to know that avocados are part of the deal.

At the moment, countries like Japan, Mexico, Malaysia and Vietnam have avocado tariffs.

But with the TPP, avocado tariffs will fall in most countries, and for Vietnam

the slowest to implement cuts, it will fall to 0% in four years.

Avocados from TPP countries will likely be cheaper than those from non-TPP countries.

So, it seems like consumers are the biggest winners in this trade deal.

Are there other winners and losers?

All the TPP countries are expecting significant economic benefits.

New Zealand estimated a boost of between $880 million and $2.9 billion

while Canada will get a boost of $3.2 billion.

But Japan is a clear winner.

Other than economic benefits, it sees the CPTPP as a geopolitical strategy to counter

another trade pact in negotiations, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

The RCEP is seen as a deal backed by China, and makes up nearly half of the global population.

Farmers and food exporting countries like Mexico, Australia and New Zealand are also

seen as big winners as agricultural produce is usually left out of trade deals.

Service sectors aren't typically included either, but the TPP 11 does include them.

This means more firms, such as accounting, design and tourism services

benefit from market access across 11 countries.

However, there are many who see themselves as possible losers of the TPP 11.

For instance, the jury is still out in Canada about the benefits for companies there.

While it will enjoy access to new markets like Japan, some industries such as dairy

and automobile think that the concessions outweigh the benefits.

Workers in developed economies are likely to be fearful that firms will move production

to lower-wage countries. However, the TPP 11 has rules on labor rights, meaning less developed

countries will have to abide by international standards, including the minimum wage.

But how countries will implement this is still up in the air.

And some economists say it's the United States that is losing out.

According to one think tank, the CPTPP would have raised U.S. wages, grown exports by 9.1%

and increased U.S. real incomes by $131 billion a year to 2030.

Delaying the launch of TPP was projected in 2016 to be a $77 billion loss to the U.S. economy.

But Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz echoed the sentiments of many Americans

warning that the original TPP 12 helps only big corporations.

But even Donald Trump is becoming more open to the party he declined to join.

If we did a substantially better deal, I would be open to TPP.

The CPTPP is likely to come into force by the end of this year.

It's a strong signal to the U.S. that despite growing calls for protectionism,

11 countries and many more are looking to throw in their lot with free trade.

Christina Aguilera Is Unrecognizable In New Photoshoot - Duration: 1:49.

Christina Aguilera graced the cover of Paper magazine, and she totally made us do a double

take.

The "Beautiful" singer looked, well, beautiful in her photo spread for Paper's "Transformation

2018" issue — but she was nearly unrecognizable!

Rather than sport her usual face full of bold makeup, the 37-year-old instead donned an

all-natural look, free of her usual shimmery eyeshadow and colorful lipstick.

While it's unclear if Aguilera is completely makeup-free or if she just has on the best

no-makeup makeup look we've ever seen, there's no denying that Aguilera stuns, as her blue

eyes and freckled face take centerstage on the magazine's cover.

Apparently, Aguilera likes the new look.

In her cover story, Aguilera opened up about switching up her beauty routine every so often,

saying,

"I'm a performer, that's who I am by nature.

But I'm at the place, even musically, where it's a liberating feeling to be able to strip

it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty."

Still, that doesn't mean that the Grammy winner is done with fun, statement-making makeup.

Aguilera noted,

"I mean, I'm a girl that likes a beat face, let's not get it twisted."

Aguilera's gone through quite the beauty and fashion transformations over the past couple

of decades.

While she appeared fresh-faced and lip-glossed in her "Genie in a Bottle" days, she later

traded it all for chaps and braids.

That was, of course, before she reinvented herself by adopting a 1920s pin-up look and

later a style comprised of body-hugging dresses and ultra-glam hair and makeup.

Given her experience trying out new styles, Aguilera's definitely one to give advice to

younger generations looking to experiment with their appearance.

In her Paper interview, she dished out these wise words:

"Be fearless in breaking new boundaries and don't be afraid to go against the grain of

criticism along the way."

I Believe The Earth Is Flat - Duration: 6:40.

- Since I was a child I've been naturally inquisitive

questioning anything and everything

that didn't quite make sense.

As I grew I poured countless hours

into a number of conspiracy theories.

Some of these theories I believe in

and some of these theories I don't but some of them I do.

Here I'll be studying the evidence for and against

all of history's mysteries, doing the work

so you don't have to but you really should

do it on your own like check sources and all that, okay.

On today's episode, flat earth.

(balloon hissing)

a lot of people would have you believe the earth is round,

well,

(balloon blowing out air)

we'll see.

What is the flat earth theory?

Well, the flat earth theory posits,

(balloon pops softly)

there we go,

that the earth is not a globe as you have come to know it.

But is in fact a flat disk like shape,

lemme show you here.

It's kind of a lot like this, yep.

Suggests that the earth's land masses lie flat

and to better understand this, let's go all the way back

to the Bedford level experiment with

Samuel Burley Rowbotham.

(suspenseful music)

So let's go to the chalk board

and the Bedford level experiment.

Sir Samuel Burley Rowbotham, don't know if that's

how its pronounced, kicked off his whole flat earth thing

with this Bedford Level experiment.

I'll write it here.

Bedford Level ex,

This is the loudest thing in the world, experiment.

What he did is he started on a long river

and he stood here, this is him, with a telescope

woop woop woop woop

and he had his friend in a boat,

boo boo boo boop, boo boo boo boop

ride a number of miles down the river.

So this was what he was suggesting,

because of the curve of the globe, he shouldn't be able

to see his friend after about six miles.

The top of the sail should've been about 11 feet

under his view but instead, he saw his friend go like

more that six miles.

The whole time he saw the whole boat and the whole thing

just like this.

That led him to thinking that

Earth is not a globe, wait, globe, there we go.

This is where it gets a little quack-y.

He published these findings in a book

called Earth Not A Globe.

The tricky thing is is that he published these findings

under the name Parallax.

Why, I don't know.

Now if you think this sounds crazy, it's important

to note that a lot of people are actually

in the same school of thought as Parallax.

(suspenseful electronic music)

Possibly Kyrie Irving, Tila Tequila and B.o.B.

And this is where people kind of hit the wall

on the flat earth thing, where's the edge?

Wonderful question, I've got answers.

So, to explain, this is essentially what the

the shape of the flat earth looks like

and of course if these are the edges, you're next question

would be like, well, why haven't we fallen off.

Well that brings me to the ice wall.

(upbeat music)

Using my handy dandy modeling clay for children,

I'm gonna explain.

(upbeat music)

Once you got the land masses and they're all there.

They have this ice wall.

Now forgive me saying, flat earthers, I haven't

fully made my mind up yet.

I really would like to get around this 'cause

this is just so cool.

And so, this is what they believe it looks like.

So you get your Canada, US, Mexico, South America in there

and then Russia, the other big ol' land mass.

They believe that the Antarctic surrounds the earth

and keeps the water in between the ice mass

just like this, look at that.

These are the principles of the flat earth society.

Honestly, seeing it like this, it's not so crazy.

We understand the ice walls we got all that figured out,

you might say, what about the seasons?

(upbeat mysterious music)

This is the most enjoyable part of the flat earth theory.

It is actually suggested that the sun

spins around the earth.

I'm actually doing the opposite of that but you know

give me a break, you can figure it out.

The seasons changing when the sun is closer

and further from the earth.

The earth stays kind of a fixed number

of miles away from the sun so that's good.

So okay, so they believe in gravity so we're good.

No they don't.

Gravity is a hoax.

(upbeat electronic music)

In the flat earth theory, the tides are not moved

by a lunar involvement.

The tide shifts are connected to a magnet

in the center of the earth and we all stay here

not because of gravity but because the earth

and the sun are constantly an ever moving upward

like a tower of terror that you can never get off.

This brings me to photographs.

(exciting upbeat music)

So you're saying, I've seen photos of the earth.

It looks like a sphere, its very circular.

Why haven't these flat earth people seen the photos either.

Well, they have but those photos were taken by NASA.

This is a quote pulled from

the flat earth society's website.

In general, we at the flat earth society do not

lend much credibility to photographic evidence.

It is too easily manipulated and altered.

That is where me and them connect.

You cannot trust photos.

For example, photos of the moon landing.

Here's a photo of me at NASA looking like

I'm having a great time.

And here's a photo of me and my best friend Jeff Goldblum.

I've never met him.

And on the whole, the flat earth society

doesn't believe anything that NASA says or does.

They don't believe that we've ever been to the moon,

me neither.

So if they're not gonna believe other people's photos

why don't they take their own.

Well they've tried.

They don't even know what's underneath the earth

because they can't get outside of this ice wall

to get a good pic.

They have no idea.

One man even tried to shoot himself into the sky

to get a good photo of the circle.

Listen, global warming's gonna melt away that ice wall

we're all gonna swim out and just fall over

like a waterfall and I for one, can't wait.

But as Reading Rainbow always said,

don't just take my word for it, look it up yourself.

Do the research on your own.

(upbeat exciting music)

They Found the Videos – His Career is Over - Duration: 11:09.

They Found the Videos – His Career is Over

Sexual harassment is the new hysteria gripping America, and none other than former Vice President

Joe Biden has found himself firmly in the spotlight.

A series of videos being rediscovered by those who would prefer to ignore Democratic misdeeds

clearly show Biden has a problem keeping his hands to himself.

Even when presented with little girls under 10 years of age.

And that is now the primary reason Biden will never be president.

Only just recently, Biden launched what seemed to be the start of a campaign to obtain the

Democratic nomination for president in the 2020 election.

He very publicly told Oprah that he regretted not running in 2016, and most assumed he's

remedy that mistake in the next election cycle.

At first, a lot of Democrats were thrilled by the news.

Many felt Biden could pose a serious challenge to Trump's reelection.

And then, Harvey Weinstein happened, and Hollywood began crumbling under the weight of its own

hypocrisy.

And then, everyone remembered about Biden's inappropriate handling of women.

So, now, even leading Democratic rags are insisting Biden not be given the shot he so

desperately desires.

From the Huffington Post:

Biden is the wrong guy to bear the standard of any party purporting to speak for the victims

of unaccountable power.

His behavior also had more patronizing undercurrents.

A big part of his act was remarking on the attractiveness of women, young and old.

He would comment on how pretty young women were and warn their fathers to keep the guys

away.

But it's clear some people were uncomfortable.

The teenage daughter of Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), for example, visibly cringed and pulled away

when Biden whispered in her ear and kissed her on the head.

Yeah, we agree, HuffPost, that creep should never again set foot in the White House.

Too bad you liberals thought it was a good idea to ever let him do so.

Tech Tip: If Your Computer Is Acting Up, Reboot It - Duration: 0:51.

Hello everybody! Today's tech tip is for basically any kind of computer problems,

something that's just not working right or something that's just a little off or

you're trying to save a document or something like that, and you just can't

save right and you're trying to do one thing... It's just not working. And you go to

surf the Internet and for some reason the Internet's just not working

or something like that. In situations like that there's one thing

that you can do that's basically the first line of defense. Just go ahead and

reboot your computer and sometimes it'll be as simple as shutting it down, turning

it back on, and it'll be okay. Other times it could be best just to shut down the

computer, unplug it for about 30 seconds, wait the 30 seconds, plug it back in, and

turn it back on. That resolves a lot more issues than you might think. It could save you

a lot of headaches of having to call somebody on such a small thing and save

you some time in the long run. Hopefully this has been helpful for you. Enjoy!
