In this episode of the vlog, I'm gonna talk about Squarespace
and give you seven reasons why you should consider
moving to Squarespace for your website.
About four years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to Squarespace
and it changed my life when it came to
simplicity and websites.
Now, I've been building websites for maybe 15 years.
I started on Microsoft FrontPage,
then I got into WordPress.
WordPress is the game changer maybe 10 years ago for me,
and then Squarespace really changed the game,
and what happened is that basically I was able to have the power in the websites
that I wanted and needed, the flexibility.
Yet, I maintained new simplicity and so it created more efficiency. And switching to Squarespace,
and so I love the platform,
and I recommend it for about 95% of all websites.
I did record a video recently titled Wordpress vs. Squarespace,
and so you can click the card above if you want to watch that video.
But in this video, I'm going to tell you seven reasons
why I think you should use Squarespace for your website.
Now the first reason I think you should consider
using Squarespace for your website is price.
You can get plans starting at $12 a month for Squarespace,
and the top, the biggest package you can get is $26 a month.
And you can cancel anytime you're not locked into any contracts,
and you literally can just move over to another service if you're not happy;
but I doubt that's gonna be the case I think you're gonna love Squarespace,
And really the difference is at $12 a month and most of, I have like 10 websites on Squarespace,
and most of them are on that package.
I don't need all the stuff unless you've got an e-commerce site where you're selling stuff.
You don't need that $26 a month package.
That $12 a month package will probably be everything that you need,
and you can literally, if you have two visitors a day, or two million visitors a day, it will handle that.
So we'll get into that later in this video,
but the price is the number one reason that I think you should consider
using the Squarespace for your website.
The second thing I love about Squarespace are the templates.
They've got a lot of different options for you to choose from
and they're very easy to customize.
And so historically as I use WordPress,
there are way more options with WordPress.
And so a lot of people are frustrated that
so many Squarespace sites look alike, and that's true;
but for me and the things that I do,
I kind of like the simplicity of it because all the templates look good.
They're easy to build of. They're pretty flexible and how I want to adjust them and make changes to them.
But I think their templates are great,
I think the flexibility within the templates,
and honestly how hard they are to break in and misalign.
And so a lot of times when I've used template sites in the past,
I would try to make a change and then I'd mess the whole thing up and have to start over.
So I love the templates that Squarespace provides.
The third reason I think you should consider
moving to Squarespace is the simplicity.
The simplicity of getting set up, literally they'll walk you through step by step.
My dad who is definitely not a web guy, built his website on Squarespace in about an hour.
It is really simple to set up. To set up your domain the hosting is built into it.
You just follow the steps, add in your information, add you images, and it's really ready to go.
It's a plug-and-play system.
It doesn't get much easier than Squarespace.
The fourth reason I think you should consider Squarespace is the scalability.
I've worked with websites on Squarespace that have a hundred plus web pages on them,
and I've worked with pages that have just one page.
So the scalability from both a page standpoint and a hosting standpoint.
Squarespace can handle lots of traffic.
It's built to scale and so whatever, whether you have a website that
two or three people are gonna visit a day or two or three million people might visit a day,
Squarespace is a great solution for scalability,
and so I love that opportunity within the platform.
The fifth reason I think you should consider Squarespace is the unbreakability.
I don't know if unbreakability is actually a word, I hope it is,
but Squarespace is really hard to break.
Now this is a problem I ran into with WordPress quite a bit
is I would kind of connect a lot of plugins,
I try to get fancy with certain things, and I'd break it,
and it just wouldn't work. It wouldn't align right.
Squarespace really, you play within their system.
It's really hard to break, and there aren't really plugins that you're gonna get messed up overtime
aren't gonna play well with others,
and so Squarespace is system.
While it's more controlled that allows for fewer fractions to happen that are gonna create issues or errors.
So the unbreakability of Squarespace is a great value.
The sixth reason I think you should consider Squarespace for your website are the integrations.
I love the integrations when it comes to transactions with Stripe,
or other integrations out there that just flow right into Squarespace or Google.
It just works well. It's seamless.
Now there are not nearly as many integrations as many other platforms out there.
So if you have a custom integration that you need, you might be able to build that in,
but it's very simple within Squarespace.
And so they choose certain providers to really have a seamless integration with,
and so for me I found that I've been able to work with those providers very well,
which is made for a more seamless integration point
rather than trying to force another tool to integrate with the site.
So I love the integrations that Squarespace provides,
like Stripe and other, in Google and some of those other great platforms
that just integrate right in seamlessly into the platform.
And the last reason I would recommend you moving to Squarespace for your website
is the user experience.
This is on both ends of the back end user experience within Squarespace.
It's great to set up.
It's so easy to manage.
It's got such a clean back end.
I manage multiple. I have about a dozen websites,
that when I log into my Squarespace account I can jump into.
I'm able to manage all of those in the one back end very easily, easy to navigate.
It's a clean back end, but then even better than the back end user experience,
for me the creator of the website, is the user experience for the end user.
Squarespace sites looks so great on mobile.
They're great on every device of your platform, their templates' structure.
They just create a good user experience and they're constantly thinking about the user experience,
and so I've yet to see a Squarespace website where I'm like:
"Oh, that's a bad user experience. I wish they would change that!"
Every Squarespace site has a great user experience
for both the user and the creator.
So those are my seven reasons that I believe you should consider
using Squarespace for your organization's website.
