Waching daily Dec 31 2018

In the warm-up to Sunday's victory over Bournemouth, Paul Pogba was spotted striking a pose that appeared very similar to the manner in which he would later celebrate a goal for Manchester United

This is Pogba at his most endearing and his most exasperating. Had United lost against Eddie Howe's team, many would have questioned the Frenchman and accused him of being distracted rather than focusing on the task at hand

This is Pogba in a nutshell; a maverick, an individual, a man who dyes his hair blue just as United travel to Manchester City, a man who unveils an emoji before a home game against Liverpool and a man who spends time before a trip to Anfield dancing around on Instagram

HOW POGBA PERFORMED UNDER MOURINHO AND NOW SOLSKJAER Pogba - PL 2018-19 Solskjaer Mourinho Games Played 3 14 Minutes Played 270 1136 Goals per game 1

33 0.24 Assists per game 1 0.24 Shots per game 4.33 3.17 Shots on target per game 3 1

66 Chances Created per game 2.67 1.43 Passes per game 96.33 64.17 Passing Accuracy 86

2 82.8 Tackles per game 2 1.11 Interceptions 1.33 0.4 Touches 113.67 86

59 As Pogba discovered, divergence from the norm only cuts it when you are winning

The idiosyncrasies that now bring a smile from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were previously cause for concern as United toiled under Jose Mourinho

Pogba's extreme confidence was interpreted as a player with an ego problem. In the new era, freedom of personality is encouraged

Solskjaer believes his players are more likely to perform if they are permitted to be comfortable in their own skin and he is being proven correct by Pogba

The Frenchman has scored four goals since Solskjaer arrived and his all-round game has been elevated

His passing accuracy is up from 82 per cent to 86 per cent under the caretaker manager and he's averaging over thirty more passes a game

He's also making an average of 1.33 interceptions per game, compared to 0.4 under Mourinho

At last, Pogba is taking a game and stamping his name all over it. Pogba has, for too long, been a player who decorates rather than defines games

He's been a scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer; a player suited to YouTube highlight reels rather than the consistency required to lead his team to trophies

Pogba, it should be said, has been far from perfect. There are times he has not helped his case, such as the occasion last year when United support staff needed to knock on his door to get Pogba out of bed

Pep Guardiola's revelation that Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, offered the midfielder to Manchester City during last January's transfer window was particularly damaging

Yes, Raiola is a loose cannon but he also reports to Pogba and the Frenchman would, surely, be able to tell his agent to stop being a nuisance if he so wished

Pogba's performances also deteriorated after his return from an injury last winter

He was particularly poor in games at Tottenham and Newcastle and after Mourinho signed his new contract, he felt emboldened to challenge Pogba by dropping him to the substitutes bench for key Champions League games against Sevilla

This was the beginning of the end for Mourinho, whose tough love only served to anger the player rather than stir Pogba's professional pride

There is a slight misconception around the relationship between Mourinho and Pogba

While it did freeze over during the past year, their first 18 months together was actually positive

Mourinho admired Pogba's pace and power and harnessed the Frenchman's link-up play with Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Privately, he believed Pogba to be a world class footballer who simply needed to find the required motivation and consistency and nobody would argue with that assessment

Solskjaer, however, is making tweaks to Pogba's game. The Norwegian has asked him to stop the showboating, to devastate rather than elaborate

He knows that Pogba's height, physique and technique mean that if he succeeds in doing the simple things well, very few will be able to stop the Frenchman

Mourinho wished Pogba would do the same but it appears the midfielder required love rather than criticism

Now he is receiving affection, Pogba is proving himself a quick learner. As a 14-year-old at French club Torcy, Pogba's coach once asked him to do 50 keepy-uppies with his right foot, left foot and his head by his coach

He failed the task but within two days had performed it in front of his entire team

Under Solskjaer, the progress has been similarly rapid.

Jesse Lingard says Paul Pogba is enjoying football again at Manchester United - Duration: 7:58.

Football News24/7  Jesse Lingard believes Paul Pogba is back to the swashbuckling player he grew up with, having been given the confidence to express himself by Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Questions over the World Cup winner's happiness and future punctuated the first few months of a difficult season at Old Trafford, thanks to his fractured relationship with Jose Mourinho

The United manager publicly criticised the midfielder, stripped him of the vice-captaincy and eventually marginalised him, so perhaps it was little surprise that the divisive Portuguese's sacking would bring a stark change in fortunes

A fortnight on from being an unused substitute in the defeat at Liverpool, Pogba continued his upturn in fortunes by scoring two goals and providing another as United ended 2018 with 4-1 defeat of Bournemouth much to the delight of fans and team-mates

"He's enjoying his football," Lingard said of Pogba, who he won the FA Youth Cup alongside at United in 2011

"He's playing in the role he likes to play in just inside off the left. He has the freedom to make things happen

He has always got forward in that position and scored goals.  "Ole has helped him 100 per cent

He has given him the confidence and licence to be free and play his game and do what we know he can do

"I can definitely, definitely see the Paul I used to know. I have seen him playing through the ranks and he is back to that player, the player we know

"  Lingard spoke with a smile on his face after another free-flowing, entertaining victory under his and Pogba's former reserve team boss Solskjaer

Asked what is different now, the England international said: "I am not too sure

"We want to play with a lot of energy and attacking football and scoring one we always want more

"Early goals are important because then the confidence flows and we have the mentality as a team to go on and beat teams four or five-nil

"  There is clearly an excitement building around United heading into 2019.  While Lingard did not speak ill of Mourinho, he appears, like so many others, re-energised by Solskjaer

"He is great," Lingard said. "He is great one on one with players. Great man-management

He will always speak to you and tell you what to do.  "For me, he knew me from the reserves and knows what kind of a player I am

"When I am on the right wing he likes me to come inside and make things happen

"He gave me my reserve team debut. He was always there on hand to give advice and help the youngsters out

He helped me out coming through and I learnt a lot from him.  "He's very special to this club and for this club

He knows where Man United has to be and that is at the very top and putting in performances like we did today

"  It was a positive end to a memorable year for Lingard, who is not only an established star at Old Trafford but helped England reach the World Cup semi-finals over the summer

The 26-year-old believes the Three Lions are "on the up" and hopes to keep United going the same way when they kick off 2019 at Newcastle on Wednesday

"It is all about how we go into games," Lingard added. "If we go into it like we have done the last three matches we will win the game

"We've had the right mentality, killing teams and pegging them back and not giving them a sniff

That mentality is very important."  While United look for another win, Bournemouth are on a rotten run of eight defeats in 10 league matches ahead of Watford's visit

Manager Eddie Howe said: "We've been through a tough period – the fixture list has been extremely unkind to us

"We've had a real run of successive games and the injury situation is very difficult as we have stretched resources

"Those injuries maybe meant that I had to play a system I wouldn't have played ideally

"That's combined with confidence but the main focus for me is that we can control our destiny, we have to change this moment and that's where the focus lies

"

RECAP OF 2018 & PLANS FOR 2019 - HAPPY NEW YEAR - NIN IS COOKING - Duration: 10:33.

Sawadi Ka everyone, Monday, new

[CY] Nonononononono nono no

Today, no recipe.

Today is the last day of the year, so what we can maybe do is do kind of a recap

of what happened for us this year When did we start the channel ?

[Nin] Ooooh honey, it's almost first time we met in Thailand right ?

[Cy} mmmmh yep, something like that.

It was in April I think [Nin] Yes 8 years ag... (laughs)

[Cy] Yeah 8 years... since April it was 8 years ago

[Nin] 8 months ago [Cy] And since then, we are uploading one

new video every single week I think just one time we couldn't because

we had to go abroad

[Nin] Now it's every Monday.

But, maybe next year it's not only Monday [Cy] This is indeed some plans we have for

next year To enhance the channel maybe upload more content,

like 2 times per week Not quite sure about it yet, though, because

it's a lot of work And we have our jobs aside so... we have to

find some time for that [Nin] I decided to do a cooking channel because

I love cooking And I want to share my Thai food recipes with

everyone And, everyone is YOU guys

[Cy] And we really hope that you actually enjoy it

And, it looks like sometimes you are a bit shy to tell us if you did the recipe or not

We would really love to know if you actually tried the recipe, have maybe one photo or

something that you can send either on the Facebook page

I will leave the link of the Facebook page down below

And Instagram as well, and you can communicate with us there or even leave a comment in the

Youtube section [Nin] This year, most of my recipes was Thai

traditional way, and simple way, right ? But next year, what I would like to do is

kind of fusion Thai food, like improve my recipes

[Cy] I can't wait.

I already love the food like, from this year, so if the coming year with have more recipes

with like more complex recipes, and fusion.... hmmmmm

[Nin] Yeah, it's like I watch in many videos, and I got the inspiration

[Cy] Yeah, this is a good point to talk about Where do we find the ideas for the recipes

and blah blah blah Obviously there is some food that you know

because it's traditional Thai food But also we have a lot of inspiration on different

websites Can be Youtube, Reddit, Instagram as well

So we have a look around, and then we see food that we like

That SHE likes and that she would like to cook

[Nin] Yes, it's like adapt right ? We adapt Thai food, Western style, mix

This is what I would like to do next year [Cy] And also, something that you should know,

is that, when we say "it takes a lot of work to do the videos"

It actually does, because, as you can definitely hear we are not native English speakers

None of us, so we have to pretty much script eveything And even by scripting, sometimes

we both do mistakes So probably the native English speakers sometimes

you hear things and you are like "ouch" Sorry about that

[Nin] And sometimes I'm like a robot, because I have to remember most of the script and

it's not natural at all For grammar it's like.... ahhhh kill me !

[Cy] Yeah sometimes even the vocabulary [Nin] It's like some words that you teach

me What's that again ? Approx...

[Cy] Approximately [Nin] Yeah approx....

I really can't say this word Approxibleeeeha

[Cy] Yeah so this is also something we are aiming to improve on next year

[Nin] And also next year, we have plan to move to a bigger place, like a house

[Cy] Yeah maybe [Nin] Because I would like to have a bigger kitchen

[Cy] Yeah obviously.

If you are with a cook, with someone who likes to cook, your husband or your wife or whatever

Kitchen is quite important And you can actually find a very nice house,

but if the kitchen is not good enough she will be like "nope"

And also on my side, I have the plan to upgrade my filming gear like... the camera is very

good but maybe get another lens If you wonder, I'm actually using a Canon

5D Mark II And the lens is quite a cheap lens.

It's a 28-105mm (3.5-4.5) But it's not a very good lens.

So I would like to have a new lens and also a new tripod with a slider to be able to do

nice travelings [Nin] You just want everything

Oh well, you gonna buy new stuff for your camera ?

So I'm going to buy new stuff for cooking as well.

A lot, many things ! [Cy] Yeah of course you will, I know it.

Well we actually did it already this year We bought a new cooking station, new pans,

new chopping board, new knife [Nin] But I still need more !

You know I can spend like 3-4h in a shopping mall

In the kitchen zone and he gonna be like [Cy] Yeah and I can spend like 5h in a camera

shop and she will be like....

Something we would really like about the channel for next year as well is

We don't just want to create videos and upload the videos and end of story

We would like to really create kind of a community of people who like Thai food

So, YOU obviously And we would like to have more exchanges with

you That you would like us to cook....

(You would like NIN to cook, because I'm not cooking I'm just eating)

You would like Nin to cook that dish or that dish, or maybe if you have advices

If you know how to cook that dish and you see something that...

Because also to mention, you're not a professional It's just a passion

So we really like when you guys comment and tell us

"On that one I would have tried to do it that way" or "I would like you to cook..."

We mentioned it already but we have 2 dishes that we are going to cook

[Nin] First is Pla nung menung and another one is "chor muang"

"Pla neung menung" is steamed fish with lemon [Cy] Yeah we just have to buy the steamer

[Nin] And "Chor Muang".

I think it's kind of a dessert And I'm not very good at desserts

[Cy] Yeah desserts are not her best strength [Nin] You can see the pumpkin custard

[Cy] Yeah you can check the pumpkin custard, it was maybe not the best recipe but when

you cook, sometimes you fail, and that's it There's no need hide it, to try to look 'professional'

never missing anything So that's it for this year, that was a very

rich and very fun year for the Youtube part ( and for the rest as well though^^)

We had a lot of fun filming the videos and yes, we wish that next year it will improve

That we will be able to improve the quality, maybe the quantity

[Nin] Yeah and also my cooking skills [Cy] Which are actually quite good already

[Nin] I want to improve more.

I want to chop onions without tears [Cy] good luck with that

[Nin] Next year I will show you guys that I can chop it without tears

[Cy] Ok write that down, we will see next December

[Nin] And I will chop the onions like 'chopchopchop', and my eyes

[Cy] Ok, ok, that's a good resolution Anyway, we really hope that you guys enjoyed

the videos during last year, and that you will enjoy even more next year !

We wish you a very happy new year [Nin] Sawadi Pimai Ka

[Cy] Sawadi Pimai Krup [Nin] Wish you healthy and happy

[Cy] And see you next year [Both] Kob Kun Ka, bye bye
