My name is Phoebe

and I'm here to tell you about all things Queenstown

If you're planning your first ever trip to Queenstown, New Zealand

you are in for a real treat my little friend

This is everything I know

Accommodation in Queenstown is really really expensive

When you start researching it

you are going to be absolutely mortified

you and your bank account are just gonna [sucking]

If you can afford it, you wanna stay in the heart of Queenstown

This means you can get around on foot

If you can't afford it

you're going be staying where we were which is on the outskirts of town

then you can't drink and then drive home obviously because that is illegal

walk into town, drink, and then try and find your way back

It's not ideal, I'm just saying it's not ideal, you can do it

I don't know if that's the kind of holiday you want to have?

If you have lots of money or you're there for something really special

I 100% recommend a place called The Spire

I walked in there and the person that worked there

like, introduced me to the room

like we were meeting for the first time on a date or something

there was like a pillow menu the fire was started by a remote

I'm not even sure it really happened it was that good

down from that, we're talking Novotel DoubleTree, Hilton, Mercure

They are going to cost you a pretty penny but

they're reliable, they're good, they're centrally located

you know them, you love them, you trust them. Like your family

Then, if you're a broke'ish like me

you're going to be looking more at your

hotel, motel, Holiday Inn

You know...

It's coooold

If you're going in winter it is cold

if you are from the northern hemisphere you are kind of used to that thing

you are not going to think its cold You are going to think we are pathetic

You are going to need really warm clothes I mean, jeans... sure but you're going to

have to wear thermal underwear under them and then

you're going to have to have some really warm socks

and then you have to have boots vest tops, jumpers, jackets

and then they are going to have to be wind-resistant cause the wind is cold

beanies, yes, gloves, scarves, mittens, the works

It's going to be cold outside and then you're going to go inside

and you take all your layers off so make sure that whatever you pack

underneath, you still look cute

just bring a camera

bring an umbrella whatever you need to be warm

waterproof shoes, waterproof everything unless of course, you're coming in summer

and then don't worry about it.

ahhhh... food is just the spice of life

is it not?

First thing you want to do is roll up hot

on the Remarkables Candy Store

Free samples of fudge

mmmmmm, hmmmmm, mmmmmm

you are going to stock up on fudge

you're gonna say that you're gonna to ration it out

you won't, you'll eat it all in the car you'll feel sick, it's going to be amazing

You're also going to want to get a really fresh, hot cookie from Cookie Time

oh my gosh Cookie Time

It's a New Zealand institution

Great places to eat Number 5 Church Lane

they do amazing breakfast... ...in fact all their food is amazing

The pizza and pasta at Bella Cucina is my favourite

Breakfast you want to try

Vudu Cafe, Bespoke Kitchen,

Joe's Garage and The Exchange

they also do a great breakfast

Of course, New Zealand is all about the burgers

They are all about that burg life man

I don't know why this is an appropriate hand signal

but I just feel like it is

So obviously Fergburger is incredibly popular

I am intensely put off by the line

You can get around that by calling ahead and putting your order through on the phone

and then you just walk in, pick it up

Try Devil Burger around the corner

Their burgers are excellent too

You should also slip in Ferg Bakery

next door to Fergburger Don't let the line put you off

They're all in the queue for the burgers You just walk straight into the bakery

Their pies are incredible. I live for like a lemon meringue kind of tart thing

oh, their's is just the best

choccy croissants, the works

Queenstown is the home of action and adventures sports

you wanna get out, you wanna push the limits

you wanna go full Die Hard Full cliffhanger

it's also the place if you really wanna freak your mum out

Shotover Jet, amazing...

You get like, in the boat and it's super fast

and they rip around and it's beautiful and you are like,

I think my face is going to come off but I'm loving it

Bungy jump off the bridge that was...

look it was an intense moment for me but I did it

ahhhhhhhhhhhh

like a tea bag

just flying through the air like this

Drive to Glenorchy

it is beautiful down there mountains, gorgeous views

you can go horseriding, tandem paragliding is an option

You wanna head up the little mountain do the gondola ride and then the luge

That's really fun, again amazing views

Winery tours, that is the thing to do

drink as much Pinot Noir as your body can handle

do a tour, because if you don't you can't drink and drive

we've spoken about this

I'd recommend going out to Milford Sound

It is incredible, although I will say this

if you do plan to go on the bus

it's going to take you a whole day

so you get out there, you see it

you're like, it's amazing I never want to leave

back on the bus, we've gotta make it I was very, very, very privileged to fly out

with Air Milford It was like that, I was there, having a great

time I was back... it was incredible

If you have the money and the time 100% fly

I also recommend taking a day trip to Wanaka one of my favourite places in the world

You should also go to Arrowtown so quaint, very old world

obviously, skiing and snowboarding are incredibly popular

the closest ones will be The Remarkables or as my brother in law calls it Remarks

freshies up at Remarks, shred sess the instructors were fantastic, it's a great

place to learn another great spot, of course, is Coronet

Peak We went up there for their twilight session

there are not as many cars It's not as frantic

you have a quick shred sess and then, you come in and there is like

DJ, oomph oomph oomph and there's pizza

oomph, oomph drinking, it's just the height of life

Don't drink and drive There are no killer animals in New Zealand

no sharks, no crocodiles no piranhas, no snakes

no mean spiders what's some other bad stuff we got going on

over here?

koala's have chlamydia that would be uncomfortable

if a koala got on your face what are you gonna do?

I'm ride or die Australian but seriously they've got it going on over there

you going to need to get some snow chains ask your rental car company for snow chains

and you are also going to need to know how to put your

snow chains on your car because, if you're on a ski field

or on the move or whatever snow...

black ice is a real thing and it's actually really dangerous

I know I'm laughing but it's super dangerous are you filming this?... oh

thank you just some juice

single lane bridges that something you need to be aware of

you're going to be like what do I do?

there is only one lane give way

there is like a sign little red arrow, big black arrow

you just... work it out if you do plan on buying alcohol

from the grocery store or similar your licence isn't going to cut it

make sure you have your passport or I know from experience

they will not serve it to you Don't worry about forking out for a GPS you'll

be fine just ask some local people for directions

and they'll just be like hmmm, oh your driving from Christchurch to

Queenstown dead easy

um, you just want to drive straight for like five hours

turn right here and then just keep going straight and you'll be fine... and they're right!

Don't worry about tipping If you are from the US or somewhere

the northern, top of the northern hemisphere we have the minimum wage here

you can tip if you want to here's a tip... don't need to tip!

Fuel is really expensive so if you are road tripping

and you are on a budget just factor that in

Kiwi's are notoriously environmentally conscious be a good person, be a good traveller

make sure when you are there you are like doing the recycling

just follow their lead don't litter their country

they don't like that oh turbulence is real

just brace yourself and know you're coming into Queenstown

flying into Queenstown okay this could be some real bad turbulence

for me but I'm calm about it

everything will be fine the pilots are great

New Zealand is wonderful you'll be fine

Customs are very tough

look, if you think Australia is terrifying

New Zealand is terrifying!

They will scare the pants off you

mad respect though

keeping their country safe

this is why they don't have koala's with chlamydia

provide you a Class B clearance if traffic permits, but don't just assume

you can fly right into it.

- You absolutely have to be cleared in. You've got air

carriers descending all the way from 13,000 feet down to the deck to the to

landing on the runway all on this narrow corridor with two parallel runways. No

altitude is safe in that stratosphere from 13,000 to the ground when you're

flying through that Class B airspace there was a plane descending through

every altitude you're gonna be flying at you must get clearance.

hey everyone its mr. shy guy and today again we're gonna talk about one of the

most amazing things in the world donuts so last time I showed you a box of

really cool donuts so this time I'm going to show you the second box of

awesome doughnuts so my friends over at pink box Donuts

sent another one of their famous pink boxes filled with all kind of beautiful

colorful and delicious doughnuts let's take a look so as you can see these are some

really colorful donuts look they're blue ones and pink ones and red ones this is

a really really pretty box of donuts to look at it almost looks like art wish I

could hang it on the wall so today I'm gonna show you all the different colors

and flavors within this donut box well that is if I don't eat them all first

let's get started so I wanted to start with this donut because it's a

traditional cake donut with pink frosting and sprinkles which is probably

the most famous looking donut that there is and look this donut matches my

sprinkles shirt see we're twinsies so these kind of Donuts the cake donuts

with the pink frosting is one of my favorites and obviously everyone's

favorite because it's just so famous you even saw a my giant doughnut that

matches this right and look how pretty that is I mean this is the most iconic

donut shape that there is so this is the pink frosting don't see how it matches

my shirt blends right in so let's put this one over here so next one and I

wanted to show you it's basically the same as the other donut it's a

traditional cake donut but this one has chocolate on top with the sprinkles so

if you're a chocolate fan you'll probably like this donut better I prefer

the pink one but this one's still really cool too so look at that there's a

chocolate cake donut for you and this is also a very iconic looking donut see it

doesn't match my shirt quite as much because it's chocolate not pink

now if you're a huge chocolate fan you're gonna love this donut this is

called Coco Loco because it's all chocolate the doughnut itself is a chocolate

cake and then it's covered in chocolate icing and then on top of that they pour

cocoa pebbles all over the top so this is a lot like the fruity pebbles one

that I showed you last time but this one has cocoa pebbles so it's also one that

you could have for breakfast I also like cocoa pebbles but not as much as

fruity pebbles the cocoa pebbles eat almost as good. So if you love chocolate

Coco Loco is the one for you so this next doughnut is probably the

messiest kind of doughnut that you can eat it's a powdered sugar with jelly

doughnut so two things that are really really messy the powdered sugar gets

everywhere and all over your face and the jelly that they put inside also gets

everywhere but you know what totally worth it

this one has glazing on it then it has the powdered sugar and then they fill

the inside with the raspberry jam so this is a really sweet doughnut and like

I said this is probably the messiest doughnut to eat so if you try to eat one

of these you've gotta have a lot of napkins

so this doughnut is a take on the famous red velvet cake doughnut but they call

this the pink velvet doughnut because it's made by pink box doughnuts right so

this doughnut is made out of pink cake and then on top of it they put cream

cheese flavored frosting because with the red velvet cake it's usually topped

with a cheesecake flavor icing so that's why they do that on top and then they

sprinkle pieces of the pink velvet crumbs all over it to give it just a

little detail at the end. So this is a pink velvet cake doughnut because it's from a

pink box Donuts so this doughnut is another take on the

breakfast cereals theme and this one is called fruit bar because it's covered

with fruit loops so you see there it just mounds and mounds and mounds of

fruit loops and who doesn't love fruit loops right when I was kid I you see a

lot of fruit loops too and fruity pebbles so look at that that looks so

pretty and so colorful with all the different loops and flavors on there so

this is another doughnut that you can have for breakfast because it has

breakfast cereal on top so see the white frosting is kind of like the milk in

your cereal bowl and then the fruit loops just float around on it but this

doughnut is called the fruit bar so this doughnut is a very traditional basic

basic doughnut all this is a regular doughnut and on top is just sugar that's

it just regular sugar so this is a very classic classic doughnut that you can

find almost anywhere I wanted to show you this because it's a very famous

doughnut as well because it's probably the doughnut that started everything is

this doughnut so it might not be as pretty as some of the other doughnuts but

it's very famous so here you go this is just a regular

sugar doughnut so this doughnut is also a take on the pink cake doughnut and the

chocolate frosting doughnut but this one is made out of devil's food cake so

devil's food cake means that it's basically a chocolate cake doughnut and

then on top they put the chocolate frosting and of course you can't have

one of these doughnuts without the beautiful colored sprinkles on top. So

this is your devil's food cake chocolate doughnut so this doughnut is a

cheesecake flavor doughnut and what they do with this one is pipe real cheesecake

in the inside of it so inside it just filled with cheesecake and you get that

real cheesecake flavor so if you love cheesecake you're gonna love this

doughnut and then on top of this doughnut they put chocolate icing with a

white swirl around it and look about that's cool that's hypnotizing so if you

swirl it around really fast or get hypnotized so if you love cheesecake and

you love chocolate this doughnuts for you the cheesecake

doughnut. This doughnut is a caramel doughnut so inside of it it's just

filled with caramel and then the whole thing's dipped in icing and then on top

of that they put this giant rosette of caramel so you get a lot of caramel

flavor out of this so that's the caramel donut it's a very simple but beautiful doughnut

So this last doughnut that I have to show you is basically the same

as the pink one that I showed you before it's a cake doughnut but instead of the

pink frosting on top they did a blue frosting on top because some people like

blue some people like pink so of course this pale blue is also a

very famous iconic color for doughnuts and of course of course of course it's

covered in rainbow sprinkles I mean a doughnut wouldn't be a doughnut without

all the rainbow sprinkles on top so that's why I have them on my shirt so

there you go take a look at that it's a traditional blue sprinkled donut so

which one do you think tastes better the blue one or the pink one? Doesn't matter

because they both taste delicious I think cuz I'm wearing the pink

sprinkles shirt I think I need a bite of the blue sprinkled donut what do you

that's a really good donut I mean all these are good donuts but that one is

really good and it kind of matches my shirt.
