🤬WHAT!? PAYPAL HOLDING FUNDS FOR 180 DAYS!? (Shopify Paypal Hold) - Duration: 10:02.

what is going on guys my name is Jesse Eby if you're new to my channel welcome

I'll be releasing weekly content and

regards to e-commerce Shopify drop

shipping and everything online

entrepreneurship if we haven't met yet

take two minutes and watch my channel

trailer and if you appreciate the

ethical entrepreneurship and dropshipping content consider dropping to

subscribe and join in the #EEBSTERnation

family you may have heard and I hear all

the time the horror stories about PayPal

holding funds well the good thing about

entrepreneurship in 2018 is we need to

learn from mistakes but the mistakes

don't need to be our own so we could

actually learn from everybody else's

mistakes and streamline our process to

success PayPal

holding money 180

days sometimes PayPal is holding money

for only 21 days but either way if

you're dealing with PayPal and you have

money going in and going out you have

expenses you can imagine the panic that

would ensue when PayPal halts all of

your business

PayPal in general has caused tons of

problems for a thousand - people shopify dropshipping but it's kind of a

necessary evil because anywhere from

thirty to fifty percent of customers

feel safe with using PayPal so if you

don't have that as an option it could

really impact your conversions

negatively I hear a lot of people say

that PayPal restricted my account in

entrepreneurship we won't be as

proactive as possible if we can avoid it

we don't want to be reactive to

situations that come up we want to

address them before they occur so in

today's video I'm not only going to

teach you how to resolve the issue of a

drop shipping PayPal hold but how to

actually avoid the drop shipping PayPal

hold entirely to prevent the issue from

happening before it actually happens all

right so let's go ahead and jump into

the valuable content all right let's go

one last thing guys for the giveaway I'm

super bummed out but we did not reach

the keyword being posted at the minimum

of 50 times I'm super bummed out I was

looking forward to picking a winner for

that and I thought it's pretty feasible

because I had 300 views but since we

didn't reach it and I love you guys

anyway I want to offer you guys

something as a thank you for being a

part of the Easter Nation family so what

I'm gonna do is if you guys are

interested let me know in the comments

section and I'll pick somebody from the

last contest video for a consultation

call I'll pick somebody at random from

the last video if you guys are

interested in that let me know in the

comments section alright let's go

mmm alright alright so there's a lot of

horror stories PayPal holding funds for

180 days sometimes PayPal holding funds

for 21 days I'm gonna go over how to

resolve it and how to avoid these PayPal

Shopify problems in the first place full

disclosure guys in Southeast Asia the

most common method of payment is wire

transfer and cash on delivery and even

for international orders I have people

are sending like Western Union and stuff

like that so I'm kind of in a different

situation than the common person with

Shopify since I'm living abroad but

there's a lot of issues people are

having with their PayPal accounts when

they have a Shopify dropshipping store

they'll have tens of thousands of

dollars in their PayPal account and then

PayPal will seize the money and close

the account entirely and you have no

access to withdraw your funds which can

be detrimental to your business if you

have ad spend or refunds or any business

expenses that you need to access your

PayPal account for so I've done a lot of

research and I want compile this issue

into a YouTube video for you guys so

that you can avoid the situation or

resolve it if it does happen to you I

was watching a video by a guy named reto

bond I hope I'm pronouncing his name

right from Flying Star online and he

went over a few of the potential

requirements that PayPal is gonna

require of you in the event that your

account is put on hold each situation is

gonna be different depending on your

particular business relationship with

PayPal your country there's a lot of

different potential requirements go

ahead and screenshot this if you guys

want just so you have an idea of what's

potentially gonna be the requirement you

could get these documents and everything

situated so that it's ready in the event

that you need it but if you're running a

legitimate business you should have all

this information anyway the scary part

is when PayPal suddenly requires it of

you and then you don't have it all

gathered and then your entire account

shut down in your business halts but you

still have customers but you can't

access into your money it gets messy

stay tuned I'm gonna have a bonus tip

that's gonna save you a lot of trouble

when it comes to PayPal requiring all

the tracking information for your orders

this is gonna save you hours of time so

stay tuned for the bonus tip so just

some more on how to resolve PayPal

holding money this might be a little

unexpected but you need to keep it

professional

you're not a drop shipper so when you

contact PayPal it's important not to

refer to your business as drop shipping

you want to be transparent and you're

not gonna lie about anything because you

don't want to create problems with the

payment processor later but you need to

be professional and avoid the high risk

buzzwords that could potentially throw a

red flag drop shipping is oftentimes a

word that newbies and beginners use and

it has a negative connotation because

newbies will piss off customers and get

a bunch of charge backs which in turn

causes problems for the payment provider

and the payment provider potentially

loses money so you're not drop shipping

another issue is of course there's the

occasional scammer that uses the drop

shipping model to actually scam people

by collecting money but never actually

fulfilling the order so of course

payment providers that want to cover

their ass do not necessarily want to

deal with people that are drop shipping

and we're gonna go into more on that in

a second so more on how to resolve

potential Shopify PayPal holds so you

might be saying I'm not if I'm not a

drop shipper what do I say I am you're

an internet retailer more specifically

you're a non stocking dealer or non

stocking internet retailer because a lot

of payment providers in general do not

allow drop shippers but if they do

they're gonna require a higher Reserve

which is essentially holding your money

because they consider you a high-risk

company so they want to hold money to

cover their ass in case you are a newbie

and you collect a bunch of money but

then go bankrupt and they don't want to

be held holding the bag take note of

this disclaimer guys

depending on your locations the staff

member at PayPal your specific situation

the outcome can vary and I can't be held

responsible for however PayPal handles

your situation after you watch this

video this is just simply how I would

handle the situation if I was using

PayPal and wanted to avoid this issue in

general please use your best judgment

based on your particular situation so

that was some information to keep in

mind to resolve the issue of PayPal's

holding your money but you want to try

to avoid these PayPal shopify problems

in the first place so I'm gonna go over

some tips to avoid drop shipping PayPal

holds remember you guys you're running a

legitimate business so you need to have

if you're using PayPal you need to have

a business account instead of just a

personal account you should have a

legitimate registered business and all

the relevant documents with PayPal you

should be you should be applying for the

merchant rates which allows you to have

lower fees on PayPal transactions and

actually I'll leave a link in the

description for more information on that

and this one's really important you guys

I have a bonus tip coming up about it

make sure you have each transaction with

the tracking info uploaded to PayPal so

they have all that on file

and probably the most important thing

you could do to avoid PayPal Shopify

problems in the first place is call them

in advance preemptively give them

everything they need let them know your

business model you're a non stocking

Internet retailer and set up whatever

reserve that they require so there's not

a giant lump sum that's being held in

the future because if you preemptively

call them up and you give them all the

information that they need for your

business model they don't have any

surprises and they don't have to hold on

to your money to protect themselves

suddenly they will already have a

certain amount reserved so that moving

forward they say okay he's a non

stocking Internet retailer we are

holding a certain percentage of his

money or her money as protection for us

and they let you continue going on as

long as you're not getting charged backs

and disputes on your account all the

time

and you're doing everything legit if you

call them ahead of time there should be

less potential for issues so maybe

you're saying I don't want PayPal

holding my money but I don't have all

that information yet you need to get

your ducks in a row as soon as possible

but

in the meantime potentially what you

could do is you could try withdrawing

your money frequently enough into your

PayPal account so that the sum and your

PayPal account doesn't get high enough

to trigger the algorithm and throw red

flag that tells PayPal that they need to

review your account and one of my PayPal

accounts for example I have like five or

six grand and I've been using that

PayPal for a small amount of

transactions but I've never had an issue

but in that particular PayPal account

I've always had less than 10 grand USD

in it I'm not sure what triggers the

algorithm to put that account on hold in

the first place but I've heard some

people say that they've had issues

around $10,000 USD so pump some people

have said that they withdraw money

frequently enough so that the lump sum

doesn't get that high in their PayPal

account but you need to hurry it cross

your T's dot your i's and do not put

this off do everything necessary to

avoid the issue in the first place so

that you're not surprised and have a

PayPal hold when you're in the midst of

having thousands of customers all right

guys we're about to jump into the bonus

tip but please if you haven't yet

trouble like on the video and drop a

comment below that lets me know you guys

are enjoying the content or if you don't

enjoy the content let me know that as

well this helps my videos be shown to

more people and save more people from

being scammed as much as possible all

right a bonus tip thanks to re Shearson

hopefully I'm pronouncing his name right

this is a great app used to avoid PayPal

holding my money the app is called

PayPal tracking info on autopilot which

allows you to import all of the order

tracking numbers into your PayPal if you

have it yet so that PayPal has

documented that you're collecting this

money for orders but yes you are indeed

shipping them out that was how to avoid

and resolve the issue of PayPal holding

money 180 days peace out

Tapping for Anxiety - Duration: 9:34.

Hi, it's Angela with My Refreshed Soul, and

today I wanted to tap with you on the

feeling of anxiety or feeling anxious.

I I know that I have felt this way a

number of times in the past. I think

before I knew what it was, that it was

anxiety or just feeling anxious, it was a

very hard thing to work through,

especially when you don't know what it

is. What it is when your your heart

starts racing, or you just break out in a

sweat, or you just feel so overwhelmed

that you your thoughts get kind of

jumbled up. I really didn't

understand what that was, and I'm so glad

that, you know, in the last couple

years, I've been able to pinpoint, "oh, you

know that's anxiety, or that's

maybe just some anxious thoughts that I

have". And obviously there are different

levels to anxiety, there's some things

that we feel a little anxious but we can

kind of work through it. And then there

are some that go into full-blown like a

panic attack because the anxiety has

just gotten to be too much. I have

shared this story how in the last year I

believe it was, I had experienced my

first panic attack which it was didn't

seem like a situation where that would

kick in and didn't really know how to

work through that. I know that now I

I know that I can use the tapping

obviously as a quick and easy way to

work through it. But I was just at a very

busy airport going through security

where I guess you would think for

some airports, maybe anyone would go into

a panic attack, or get anxiety with so

many people and all the stuff going on.

But I don't know for some reason that

day, even though I travel from time to

time, for some reason that day it was

just it was just all too much. So I want

to tap with you today on that feeling of

feeling anxious

or just feeling anxiety and you can use

this in any situation. Whether you're

traveling, or something going on at work,

an event that you're going to, or you

just find yourself in the midst of a

situation that's just difficult. So we're

going tap on anxiety and we're going to start

at that karate chop point, and I'm going

create an affirmation. Maybe come up in

your mind have a situation in the past

where you felt anxious. So while

we're tapping you can tap on that

particular situation. Maybe your

thought process will change as to why

you felt anxious, or maybe you'll get

some ideas in your head that you hadn't

thought of before. Ready? So even though I

am feeling super anxious right now, I

deeply and completely love and accept

myself. Even though I really don't

understand why I'm feeling anxious, I

deeply and completely love and accept

myself. Even though I really wish that I

wouldn't go through this, and you would

think I would know better, how to work

through these difficult situations, and

not feel so anxious, or get any kind of

anxiety, I still deeply and completely

love and accept who I am right now. Let's

take it to the eyebrow. These anxious

feelings that I have. (Side of the eye) I

really don't know why they're being

triggered. (Under the eye) I can't really

think about what's going on right now

that would make me feel so horrible

physically. (Under the nose) I wish I could

just work through this. (Chin) I am feeling so

embarrassed right now that I feel so

anxious. (Collarbone)

Maybe this anxiety is trying to tell me

something about what's going on in the

situation. (Under the arm) Maybe this is

actually something that's not negative

but it's positive. (Top of the head) Maybe

I just need to listen to myself a little

bit more to see what is this that's

causing this anxiety. (Eyebrow)

I hate this feeling in my body, this

feeling of being out of control and not

feeling well. (Side of the eye) Having

anxiety feels horrible. (Under the eye) I'm

hoping that this tapping is going to

help me to just release that. (Under the

nose) I'm hoping that by tapping it's

going to show me a way to work through

this. (Chin) And show me what it is that's

making me anxious, and what I could do

differently. (Collarbone) I just want to be

able to let this anxiety go. (Under the

arm) And when I can let this go, then I

can feel more confident that I can go

back into these kinds of situations. (Top

of the head) And not look to other things

to help to soothe my anxiety that I can

do it in a healthy way,

like deep breaths, tapping, and other

things. I just want to let it go. So we're

going do a round with that. (Eyebrow) I

release this anxiety and I let it go. I

release this anxiety and let it go. (Under

the eye) I release this anxiety and let

it go. (Under the nose) I release this

anxiety and let it go. (Chin) I

release this anxiety and I let it go.

(Collarbone) I release this anxiety and

let it go. (Under the arm) I release this

anxiety and let it go. (Top of head) I

release all this anxiety and I'm going

to let it go right now. Take a deep

breath. Okay, so we worked a little bit on

the negative thoughts,

the frustration behind the anxiety maybe

how we felt about ourselves being a

little confused by it, and we worked some

into the positive. Where you know maybe

this is telling my body something, maybe

this is something that I can learn from,

maybe this is something that is helping

to guide me? Who would have thought

anxiety could have been maybe a positive

thing. Then the last round was just

being able to let it go. So, you may find

that when you're in an anxious moment

you may not have the privacy or the time

to stand there, and you know, think about

what you want to say. Maybe it's just a

matter of saying I release and let it go,

I release and let it go, and you can

always go back and revisit that. You know

it's similar to sometimes when we pray,

sometimes people have very thoughtful

prayers and they can spend a lot of time

with God, and really connect with him, and

think about what it is they want to

share with Him, and then listening to

what He has to say. Then sometimes we

have prayers like, "please Jesus help me

in this moment", just help me, help

me, help me, because it's a little bit of

a panicky situation. And this can be the

same way, where it's it's similar to a

gentleman who came up with Faster EFT.

His name is escaping me, I'm thinking his

name might be Gene. I'll have to

double check on that,

but I really like his technique where he

makes it a little more simplified, and

I've learned so much from him. But his

method is a lot of just, "release and let

it go, release and let it go." So when

you're in those quick moments, try that.

Maybe even if it's on the

karate chop, "release and let it go

release and let it go", as you're thinking

about what it is you're anxious about,

that might help you too. So thanks for

spending some time with me today, and I

hope that tapping round helped you.

Until next time, bye.

Changing smocking pleating ratios for different fabric weights with simple math - Duration: 5:55.

Hey everyone, here is how you can adjust a pleating radio using some simple math. I also

have a video on how to adjust a pleating ratio, and that video focuses more on the built in

geometry, so you don't have to do any math. Anywho, to figure out how much fabric you'll

need for a given length, you'll first need to establish what I am calling a pleating

ratio. Basically, the ratio of pre-pleated fabric to pleated fabric. To do this, I take

a ten inch strip and run it through my pleater. I use ten inches since the math is easy, but

you can pick any length that you wish. Then I adjust the pleats until I like the spacing.

There isn't really a "right or wrong" way to adjust your pleats, although too tight

will make it hard to pleat and personally, I don't like that look. But it's sewing,

you do you. So once you get your ratio, then you'll

measure what your post pleated fabric need to span. So in my case, I'm doing some pleating

underneath this yoke. I only want pleating in the center 3 ¾ inches under the yoke.

I want some flat fabric on each end to make construction easier.

So here's the math – my established ratio is 4 inches of finished pleated fabric to

the 10 inches of the pre-pleated length. Now I know I want around 3 ¾ inches of finished

pleated fabric, so I'm going to use that to figure out what my pre-pleated length should

be. So I cross multiply and solve for x. So I've

got 4 times x for 4x and 3.75 times 10 for 37.5. Then divide both sides by 4 to solve

for x, so 37.5 divided by 4 is 9 and 3/8 since .375 is 3/8.

Now remember, we've set up x to be the portion of pleated fabric. In my case, I also need

to add in a facing on one side as well as an armhole on the other. Keep these variables

in mind as you approach your own project. Just add in those factors as you need. So

I'm adding on three inches for that facing and two inches for the armhole.

So I've got my 2 inches for the armhole plus the 9 and 3/8 inches for the pleated

section plus 3 inches for the facing for a total of 14 and 3/8 inches.

So that gives you the math portion. Then I pleat up my fabric by running both the left

front side of my dress through the pleater as well as the right front side of my dress

without removing my threads – just one less thing to do.

Then I pull off plenty of extra thread before moving these from my pleater. I pull the thread

so each piece of fabric has enough to work with. Then I cut the threads and move all

those pleats over so I can make room for my facing. I planned for 3 inches to go to the

facing. So I find the nearest pleat to three inches and pull up those threads. Then I should've

tied those treads off so they are secure before I moved onto the armhole, but I just forgot.

You'll see that I go back and tie them off in a little bit.

So I mark my armhole giving the pattern. You can see that I have the yoke pattern right

on top of the skirt pattern that has the armhole attached to it. So I overlap these pattern

pieces at the given seam allowance. I make sure that seam allowance is collinear to the

top of the skirt and the side of the armhole is also flush, and then I pull out the pleats

on the other side of those marks, giving myself some space for seam allowance. And really,

I should've tied that first side off before moving onto this armhole so I don't pull

out any of those threads. So I'm doing that now and then going back to the armhole side.

Then I cut around that armhole. So then I iron that facing over into place

and get my favorite freezerrr paperrrr. Love this stuff. So I bring over the yoke just

to double check my work as I'm blocking. So I line up one side with the yoke and then

tie those pleating threads off so the other side of the skirt is flush with the yoke.

At this point, I am only concerned with getting the length correct. After those threads are

tied off, then I trim them up and evenly distribute the pleats. Then I grab some of this freezer

paper and iron the waxy side down to keep those pleats in place. If you are new to using

freezer paper, I do have a more detailed video going over how you can block using this magical

stuff – seriously, I can't recommend it enough.

Then I put my yoke right sides together with my pleated skirt and sew the two together.

Normally I would trim up the freezer paper so it is flush with my fabric, making a consistent

seam allowance easier to achieve, but I couldn't find a non-sewing pair of scissors and didn't

want to make too much noise – this was around 4 in the morning. But you get the idea…

from there I would continue sewing my entire garment and then do the smocking at the end,

on a finished garment. I hope this video was helpful. If you have

any questions, please leave them in the comments below and I'll do my best to answer them.

As always, I appreciate y'all for watching and I hope to catch ya next time.

Gold casket of Aretha Franklin arrives at church for five HOUR funeral - Duration: 22:45.

Aretha Franklin was carried down a red carpet in to Detroit's Greater Grace Temple on Friday morning in a gold plated casket, wearing a gold, full length dress ahead of her star-studded funeral

The Queen of Soul was brought to the church in a white Cadillac LaSalle hearse that once carried civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks, and also her father legendary minister CL Franklin

The hearse will pick her up again to take her body to Woodlawn Cemetery, where Parks and her father were also buried

As crowds gathered outside the church to say their goodbyes, six men were seen carrying Franklin out of the 1940s hearse and into the church, while another two stood behind them

Scroll down for video  The pallbearers were seen wheeling the coffin down what would be Franklin's last ever red carpet, as guests began to arrive at her service, which is expected to be up to five hours long

Inside the coffin, Aretha is dressed in a full-length golden dress, with sequined heels - her fourth outfit since her first day of viewing

As guests walked into the church, and thousands waited out the front to find out if they would be among the lucky 1,000 members of the public permitted entry, the Aretha Franklin Orchestra sang

Among the high profile guests were Whoopi Goldberg, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Ariana Grande, boxer Tommy Hearns, Motown star Martha Reeves and Jesse Jackson

State troopers came to pay their respects to Franklin's open casket in full uniform before her family entered to say their final goodbyes

As the Orchestra sang, three men in gloves slowly closed the casket for the last time, with two women by their sides

Starting more than an hour behind schedule, host and family friend Bishop Charles H

Ellis III told the packed-out church: 'We will do our best not to waste time, but we will take the necessary time to honor this great woman'

In the prayer of comfort, Dr. E.L. Branch, senior pastor of Detroit's Third New Hope Baptist Church, who worked with Franklin's father, thanked God for the Queen

'Thank you Lord for Aretha. She was first Detroit's ,then America's, and then the world's,' he said

'An image of hope larger than life. A soldier, a trooper, an encourager, a good and faithful servant

'Faith Hill made the first musical tribute of the day, singing 'What A Friend We Have In Jesus' with the official orchestra

The song, performed after a reading of the Old Testament, New Testament and a Psalm, had many on their feet dancing and clapping

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan told the congregation he would be moving to rename the city's famed Chene Park to Aretha Franklin Park as soon as council met again

'Our beautiful waterfront jewel will be Aretha Franklin Park, and when performers for generations to come arrive, they will be reminded they are performing at the home of the Queen of Soul,' he told the cheering crowd

Brenda Jones, Detroit City Council President, seconded the motion, and also announced a second street had been named after the singer

Council member JoAnn Watson said Franklin was always eager to share her wealth with her community, and was never too good to do anything herself

'She would ride the streets of Detroit, quietly taking notice of people with special needs and making donations,' Watson said

'She will forever be our Queen.' Reverend Al Sharpton told of the time Franklin went on an 11-city tour to raise money for Martin Luther King, who was struggling to fund his payroll

'She represented the best of our community and she fought for our community until the end,''She gave us pride and she gave us a regal bar to reach

She fought for everybody'Aretha never took orders from nobody but God.' At some points, his remarks became less rooted in the past and more in the present

Recognizing her work in standing up for those who could not do it for themselves, Sharpton stood up for Franklin - against Trump

'The other Sunday on my show, I misspelled respect. And a lot of you all corrected me

And now I want you to help me correct President Trump to teach him what it means

'He referenced Trump's memorial comments about Franklin working for him, responding: 'No'

'She performed for you,' he yelled. 'She worked for us.' Rev. Sharpton finished by reading out a letter sent in by Barack Obama, where he shared his love for the Queen of Soul

'From a young age, Aretha Franklin rocked the world of anyone who had the pleasure of hearing her voice,' he wrote

'Aretha's work reflected the very best of the American story. 'While the music she made captured some of out deepest human desires, through her voice Aretha lifted the voices of millions; the downtrodden, the vulnerable or maybe someone who just needed a little boost

'The starlet's childhood friend, Smokey Robinson, told the congregation of the day the pair met, and how they had been close ever since

'My longest friend has gone home, and I know you're up there and you're celebrating with your family and all our neighborhood friends who are gone,' he said

'You're going to be one of the featured voices in the choir of angels, you know, because you'd have to be

'I'm gonna love you forever.' Motown sensation The Clark Sisters broke the somber mood with a rendition of their song Is My Living In Vain

During family reflections, Franklin's granddaughter told the church how proud she was to be related to her grandmother: 'Every time I learn something new about my grandma, I see so much of herself in me and it makes me smile'

Her grandson thanked Franklin for 'always putting the family first, and showing us the right way to handle success'

'I'm sad today, because I'm losing my friend, but the imprint she left on this world can never be removed,' he said tearfully

Franklin's niece Cristal and nephew Vaughn also paid tribute to their ordinary aunt, who went shopping, cooked dinner, and even sung at Cristal's high school graduation

'We're not saying goodbye Aunty,' Vaughn said. 'But farewell, until we see you again in our final resting place

'Her son Edward wrapped up the reflections, with a moving musical tribute. He sang Marvin Gaye's Mercy Mercy Me

There were more political moments, with Bishop Charles Ellis taking a moment to acknowledge Maxine Waters

He and the congregation yelled to her: 'We got your back', as the congresswoman looked overwhelmed and grateful

Former US Attorney Eric Holder remembered growing up to Franklin, and his delight at being able to meet her in person

He encouraged the congregation to  remember her work outside of Franklin's music - and how she could jet from wowing crowds the Kennedy stage to helping her community on the street without skipping a beat

'She was that rare queen who never lost the common touch,' he said.'Our days will be a little less bright and our lives just a bit empty

'Former President Bill Clinton, who Bishop Ellis introduced as 'the first black President of the United States', said he and wife Hillary had long been avid fans of the soul singer

'We started out not as President and First Lady, but as Aretha groupies or something,' he joked

He said Franklin's power to pull a crowd was: 'Not because she had this breathtaking talent, not because she grew up a princess of soul, but because she lived with courage

Not without fear, but overcoming her fears.''She lived with faith. she lived with power

I just loved her,' he said. 'The secret of her greatness was she took this massive talent, and this perfect culture that raised her, and decided to be the composer of this massive song

'Clinton could not resist throwing in a joke about Franklin's flamboyant wardrobe, remarking: 'I was so happy when I got here and the casket was still open, I got to think: "I wonder what my friend has on today"

'The former President closed by explaining he didn't love and respect Franklin for her talent, but for what she did with it, and how she treated others in the face of unimaginable success

'She cared about broken people, she cared about people who were disappointed. about people who didn't succeed as much as she did,' he said

'And she worked her can off to get where she was. She took the gifts god gave her, and they just kept getting a little bigger every day

' The former President finally cut himself off, having gone well over his time allotment, by playing Franklin's 'Think' on his phone

Franklin's funeral has been largely dictated by the Queen of Soul herself, with many performers claiming she had chosen which song they would perform

She has chosen The Rev. Jasper Williams Jr., pastor emeritus of Salem Bible Church in Atlanta, to eulogize her

Organizers of the service insist today's service will be a 'spiritual awakening' and not a 'concert, show or awards production'

Former president Bill Clinton, Rev Jesse Jackson and Smokey Robinson will all speak at the Queen of Soul's final send-off

Franklin and Clinton are old friends, and she sang at both his inaugurations. When the former President arrived, he was seen fumbling with papers, including what appeared to be his speech and an order of service, as Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton slipped into the church

There will be performances by Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Faith Hill, Shirley Caesar, Chaka Khan and more

But the service will not just be for the A list. The first 1,000 people lined up at the Greater Grace Temple will be given access inside, an offer that has created massive crowds outside the church

But Bishop Charles Ellis III, of Detroit's Greater Grace, said the funeral will be a respectful service clear of all the pomp and ceremony seen over the past week

'It is my goal and my aim to ensure that people leave here with some kind of spiritual awakening,' Ellis said

'This is not a concert, this is not a show, this is not an awards production.'This is a real life that has been lived, that a person regardless of how famous she became no matter how many people she touched around the world

Bishop Ellis said the service 'may well exceed five hours'. The street outside Greater Grace will be lined with pink Cadillacs - a nod to Franklin's funky '80s tune, 'Freeway of Love,' which prominently featured the car in the lyrics and video

Gospel artist Marvin Sapp, who is scheduled to perform, said: 'Of course, some get-down and lift-up need not be mutually exclusive

'I really believe that this. is going to be an eye-opening experience for everybody in the world watching

''We really celebrate because we really recognize that those we call the dearly departed, they wouldn't want for us to cry and be sad and sorrowful

He said they 'talked all the time,' the last just a couple weeks before she became too ill to speak

'We saw all of our other close friends go,' Robinson said. 'We used to talk about that - we saw a lot of soldiers go

'Amid the sadness of these days, Robinson can find uplift - and believes Franklin's legacy is secure

A new generation of singers like Grande who are inspired by the late Queen of Soul is just the beginning

'There are some girls who haven't been born yet . who will be inspired by Aretha,' he said

Sabrina Owens, Franklin's niece, said she started putting thoughts to paper about events earlier this year as her aunt's health failed

Since Franklin's August 16 death at 76, Owens said a close group she described as 'Aretha's angels' have 'worked tirelessly' and have been guided by a single question: 'What would Aretha want?''After all she gave to the world, I felt we needed to give her an appropriate send-off that would match her legacy,' Owens said

Old Argument Over Federal Support for Christianity Still Resonates | Heavy.com - Duration: 10:15.

Old Argument Over Federal Support for Christianity Still Resonates | Heavy.com

Since taking office, President Trump and his administration have strongly championed religious liberty, but only of a particular kind.

At this week's White House dinner for evangelical leaders, Trump emphasized that the U.S.

is a "nation of believers" and promised to protect religious liberty.

Trump's proposed policies reflect the political goals of conservative evangelicals.

At a summit last month, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a new "Religious Liberty Task Force" in the Justice Department to protect "people of faith" from "unjust discrimination" in all areas of life.

Despite Sessions' inclusive reference to "people of faith," what was noteworthy was the presence of conservative Christians like Jack Phillips, the baker in the Masterpiece Cakeshop, who spoke at the summit.

Many critics have observed that demands for religious liberty do not extend to all religions, which prevents fair treatment.

Others have noted that greater protections might harm women and LGBT Americans.

I recognize the merits of these critiques.

However, largely absent from them is an equally powerful argument made over a century ago.

Back then, some evangelical Christians argued that demands for government protection for Christianity signaled that their religion had failed.

The decline of Protestant influence.

My research shows the late 19th century was a bad time for American Protestants.

Agnosticism and atheism became popular, especially among younger intellectuals.

Rising numbers of non-Protestant immigrants brought greater religious diversity.

These changes caused Protestants to lose the privileges they had enjoyed in public life, such as their control over many of the nation's academic institutions.

In one notable example, the school board in Cincinnati, Ohio, prohibited Bible reading in public schools.

Catholics had objected that schools used a Protestant translation of scripture and officials agreed.

The evangelical Protestant amendment.

Fearing similar cases, devout Protestants turned to the federal government.

They supported an amendment first proposed during the Civil War that would have placed the language of evangelical Protestantism in the Constitution.

The amendment sought to include references to God and Jesus in the Constitution.

It also declared the Bible "the supreme rule for the conduct of nations." This final point was at odds with Catholic teaching.

It made clear that the amendment was intended to placate only Protestants.

Supporters of the amendment had friends in high places.

William Strong, a justice on the Supreme Court, led a group advocating its passage.

Much like Jeff Sessions, Strong urged protection for Christianity in the public sphere.

The future of the religion was at stake.

The justice warned that the Constitution must be made "explicitly Christian." Otherwise, Christianity – specifically evangelical Protestantism – would be "obliterated" from the nation.

But other Protestants disagreed.

The religious critic.

Among them was Washington Gladden.

He was a minister who had grown up in a very devout family.

Though he would become a leading religious liberal, Gladden was well within the mainstream of American Protestantism at the height of debates about the constitutional amendment.

In the 1870s, Gladden had great influence as religious editor of the New York Independent, one of the most read U.S.

periodicals of the day.

The paper had strong religious credentials.

It proclaimed that in all its coverage it was "bound to the evangelical faith by the firm belief of its editors.".

The case against religious amendment.

That belief, however, did not include endorsing government support of Protestantism.

In his editorials, Gladden railed against the proposed amendment.

The state was "not called to the inculcation or confirmation of religious truth," he wrote.

Gladden invoked religious liberty – the same rhetoric President Trump and members of his administration have used to reassure modern evangelicals – to demand no special protection be made.

Citizens should expect "equal footing for their faith, no matter what it may be," rather than particular privilege.

Most boldly, Gladden argued that a religion that needed protection from government was a religion that had no reason to exist.

He wrote on his editorial page,.

"If our Christianity is of such a flimsy texture that nothing but a constitutional amendment will save it, the sooner it is obliterated the better for the land.

Simply put, he insisted, religious people had to make their own case for their values.

If they could not, they certainly did not deserve greater support.

This was a controversial argument in what was largely a Protestant country, but other Protestants amplified it.

Other Christian leaders came to see support for the amendment as a sign of weak faith.

A lesson for the Trump era?.

Despite the backing of powerful men like William Strong, the Christian amendment failed.

The nation's Protestant leaders never came together in support of it.

While the religious critique was not the sole cause the amendment's failure, Gladden's line of argument was powerful.

It shamed the amendment's supporters by arguing that their demands were antithetical not only to American values but to Christian ones as well.

Demands for government support only confirmed evangelical Christianity's impotence.

History suggests it is a rhetorical strategy that critics of the Trump administration's religious liberty policies might do well to revisit.

Cop put on leave for tattoo linked to antigovernment group - Duration: 6:45.

A police officer in North Carolina has been put on paid leave after being photographed with a tattoo associated with a national antigovernment group, throwing his ability to "function effectively" as a cop into question, according to the department's chief

Chapel Hill Police Officer Cole P. Daniels, who joined the department in 2014, was placed on leave Monday after being photographed earlier this month with a distinctive tattoo – a Roman numeral three encircled by stars — associated to the Three Percenters, a group considered by the Southern Poverty Law Center to be among the antigovernment movement that had a resurgence following the election of President Obama in 2008

Daniel Hosterman, a photographer in Durham, told The News & Observer he took a photograph of Daniels as he stood near the Silent Sam Confederate monument, which was toppled on Aug

20 by protesters on campus at the University of North Carolina.  But Chapel Hill's police chief has known about the tattoo since at least February, according to the newspaper

That's when Police Chief Chris Blue left a voicemail for Megan Squire, a computer science professor at Elon University who gave a presentation to UNC-Chapel Hill students that included a photograph of Daniels' tattoo that was taken at a rally in June 2017, the News & Observer reports

"I'm calling you to thank you for calling attention to a tattoo that one of my officers has that apparently slipped through our cracks," Blue told Squire on the voicemail

"I would love to hear a little more about how you came across the picture depicting him and share a little bit about my thoughts on how we move forward

"  Squire — who had been dealing with backlash from a Wired profile on her database that tracks far-right extremists — didn't return Blue's message, which she regrets

"I think it was a missed opportunity for me as an educator," Squire, 45, told the newspaper

Blue confirmed that Daniels had been placed on administrative leave in a statement to the News & Observer, but did not respond to questions from the newspaper about his response to the initial report of Daniels' tattoo in February

"The pervasiveness of the concerns raised by many regarding his display of a tattoo that is associated with the '3 Percenters' has caused the Department to question his ability to function effectively as a police officer within this community," Blue's statement read

"Therefore, the Police Department initiated an administrative investigation in accordance with our Town's Personnel Ordinances and policies and procedures

"  Daniels will remain on leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Any disciplinary action will be taken after consulting with the town's manager and attorneys, Blue said

Messages seeking additional comment from Blue were not immediately returned Friday, but a Chapel Hill spokeswoman referred The Post to a statement from Town Manager Roger Stancil that indicated no further information will be released on the personnel matter

"We are making note of your interview request," spokeswoman Catherine Lazorko wrote in an email

"After any major community event, we take the time needed to evaluate many aspects — including our roles in public safety aspects, successful coordination with partnering agencies, and the costs associated

We are doing this now. We will follow up after this process to provide relevant information to the public and to schedule interviews with the media

"  The Three Percenters, meanwhile, is a collection of "patriotic citizens who love their country, their freedoms, and their liberty," according to its website

"We are committed to standing against and exposing corruption and injustice," the website continues

"We are NOT a militia … Being a Three Percenter is a more of way of life rather than a club to join

"  The group also denounces its "anti-government" label, instead insisting its members are "very pro-government, so long as the government abides by the Constitution," according to its website

"Our goal is to utilize the fail-safes put in place by our founders to reign [sic] in an overreaching government and push back against tyranny," the website continues

"… There is often a misconception that we are wanting to overthrow the government

This is simply not true and a false rumor to try and paint our movement as anti-government

Beginning or Returning to Makeup Tips with Only 8 Items for Both Younger & Mature Women over 50 - Duration: 25:23.

Okay awesome ones. Well you know I love our subscribers and I'm still reading

pretty well every single comment that you put down and I'm really surprised

that how many of you after watching a makeup video have never worn makeup

before or maybe you haven't worn makeup......... some people are saying I haven't worn

makeup in like decades. Thank You Heather. And I thought what I would do is I do

this video for you rookies out there or you returners to makeup out there.

I'm just going to use eight products. So I'm going to really really keep it

simple and some of you who, you know are thinking well you know what, I don't want

to use all those 20 products that Heather's using, you might really find

this informative as well. It starts in just a few seconds.

So I wanted to do this video just to help those of you that, you know, need a

little bit of enhancement. You really want to get a little bit of confidence

back and what I'm using here are just eight products. I'm showing them here and

they really really cover everything that I need to do a full makeup on my face.

And the other thing about these products is I really made sure that they're

pretty reasonable. I know the mascaras a little on the high end but I also will

tell you about an option where you can get a drugstore product that actually

works just as well as well. So as you know I'd like to keep it real. I have

absolutely no makeup on my face and as a former 80's model that was really hard to

do, but I want to give the best to you guys and so I'm used to it now, but

anywho what I would suggest if you're just, you know starting on makeup or you

want to do a minimalistic kind of makeup or you're just returning to it is let's

start with a concealer. Now this concealer we're only going to use one in

this video, because I'm keeping it minimalistic as I said. It's a little

lighter than my skin tone and what I'm going to do is I just....yes you have the

lipsticky kind of thing, but what I like to do when I'm doing this kind of

an application is just, I don't know if you can see that...... they're kind of rolling

on my fingers a bit. I've got to start with underneath these eyes because I really

usually have like dark circles under my eyes sometimes. I even have bags, not

today but that's a good thing you know and I just sort of dab it, just kind

of dab underneath here and as you can see yes it's a little bit lighter......

just dabbing underneath again, these are great blenders and you have ten of them

here, it's called your fingers. Alright so there you go.

Now.....that you might say....ah that looks really really bright, but we're gonna

tone it down in a minute. Now if you have blemishes, if you have age spots, if you

have whatever which I got pretty well everything on the list.

Oh yeah, yeah um but just use this like this you see how that's covering up

there. Blend it in. I also like to put a little bit in between my eyes here

because, I don't know, it's kind of purply in there but I'll sort of show you this

one. Dab it on, blend it in, oh I got more here sorry this is gonna take up a lot

of the video all my spots that I have to cover up, but yep they're there. I got

some redness here, my nose a little bit on my nose and then can you see these

guys here, so I'm gonna go like that...like that....like that....like that and just do

some blending. Now one little final look here, what's that, blemish I guess and

a final little look. Oh you know what, this was nasty, this one here is really really

dark, so had to add a little bit there. So there you go.

One concealer that's all you need for this minimalistic kind of makeup and

it's a very natural makeup even though I'm not using a lot of products it still

works just fine. So let's see step number two while this dries. So well that's

drying we're gonna use eyeliner pencil. Alright and a sharpened one, make sure

it's sharp now. I'm using black for this video but you might feel a little more

comfortable with a softer kind of look. Maybe a brown would work for you and

this is a little bit tricky, you might need a little bit of practice at it, but

basically what you're going to do is...I usually start from the inside and work

my way out. Now you might be saying to yourself, oh I don't I think I'll skip

that one, I don't need the eyeliner. Well if you have droopy or hooded eyes and

actually I'm gonna put a link up there for the hooded eye video, you'll realize

why you need a little swoosh at the end, because we want to liven up your

eyes a little bit and you know the eyes are magic, so we do want to work a little

bit on them. So all I'm gonna do is......kind of hard to show you, but I started here,

see I'm just kind of feathering it out a bit, it's not a great big line, it's just

giving your eyelashes a little bit of definition and as we age, I don't know we

seem to lose some eyelashes, so this really just helps a bit, doing doing here

and don't...kind of do it in....in several strokes, you see I'm not just

going zoom like that, just kind of lightly brushing it and then at the end, I do a

little swoosh. I'll get back to the swoosh in a minute and I'm just gonna

quickly do my other eye.

There we go and the little swoosh. Alright next step. So the third item you're going

to need is an eyeshadow palette. Now this one I found is fabulous. It's not very

expensive either. It's by Burt's Bees. There's all kinds of different palettes

that you can get and actually I found this Burt's Bees makeup line really

really awesome and I'm gonna put a link up there for a video that I did on it

because it wasn't even a sponsored video but I applied the makeup and I really

really loved it. So let's choose this palette um this does not come with a

brush hmm so you might want to get a palette like this instead with a number

of different colors in it and that's going to come with your with a couple of

brushes which are good. Now if you're saying to yourself, you know what, I don't

really want to invest in brushes right now.

Well these work just fine little um little cotton swabs here and just

remember to throw them out occasionally, but I've used these before and they work

just fine, so let's just um go ahead with this and what we're going to do with

this is we're going to put this just above the eyes.

That's just on the eyelid there so I just want to make sure that I got it

straight, hold on for a second. Oh yeah very natural, a very natural look, also

what I'm going to do is.....sorry I'm kind of melting in here under the lights, but I want

to keep going with this and we'll cool off in a minute. Also put a little

highlighter up there right underneath the brow bone, that's really really

lovely there. Now what do you do with this color?

Well this color, if you can see just the natural....I don't have any makeup on, but

I've got a kind of a natural crease here, so what I'm going to do is, I'm just

gonna go along that natural crease there.

See it's looking pretty....yeah and I'm going to go along that natural crease

there and because of the hooded eyes that I have....didn't have them when I was

younger, but I got them now. I'm gonna just do a little swoosh out like that

and I am going to brush it out with my fingers there, all right so now there's a

third color in here and in this particular palette it's like a lavender

sort of color, but they also have pallets with Browns and other colors that you

might prefer. Now this is when you're a little bit daring if you want to do this

you might not want to do it the first try if you're just a beginner you're

getting back into makeup, but I will show it to you as for the people that are

just sort of want to do this, okay so first of all I use a brush like this or

you could use a q-tip, just be really really careful with that and I'm gonna

go underneath the eyes.

Notice I'm not using a liner, but this is really a pretty look just under there

and then right across here in the crease with that darker one to just show some

definition. See all these wrinkles I've got over here. I'm just trying to hide

them with the darker one and then that little swoosh that we made there we're

just gonna bring that up, there we go. I am literally melting it's really hot in

here under these lights. I'm going to go back but I'll be back in a second. I got

a fan here for a second. I'll be right back.

Alright I'm cooler. I'm keeping it real. Sweet....sweat

beads and all, but anyway, so I'm much cooler now and oh I wanted to mention to

you also, makeup brushes. If you do want to get some makeup brushes, I did a video

on that too on makeup brushes. I'm gonna put it up there you know the right kind

of makeup brushes to use so you might go...... I kind of like this makeup thing. I think

I'm gonna toss the cotton swabs and I'm gonna go ahead and use some proper

brushes. So I'll put a link up there to that video, but let's move on to the

foundation. so for this foundation I want to keep it easy-peasy for you guys again

this is a Burt's Bees product and I love this little compact because it has a

mirror on it but it also comes with an applicator so that's always nice to have.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to just sort of dab this into the

applicator. I want to dab and brush a little bit like this so a little

bit of a stroke there and I'm going to try to now put this on my face. Let me

see if I can do it with this mirror. Hopefully this works for you guys and I

am not going to go under my eyes yet. I just want to cover you know we've got

we get discolorations when we get older and and you know even when we're younger

we've got some discolorations on our face. So what we want to do is cover them

up, not with a lot and again I'm just sort of scraping and dabbing on this a

little bit. I don't know if you can see that, but yeah so lets go up here taking

that nice shine off. Well it wasn't a nice shine, it was

taking the shine off as well. All right and you can sort of see the difference

in the coloring here and over here.

This is really nice. I think it's got bamboo in it or something this some

powder so it's a hundred percent natural - I believe so that's always good and

what am I going to do with this last little part under my eyes...you don't want

to put too much powder under your eyes, that's where all the wrinkles are so if

you put too much powder under there all of a sudden you're going to age yourself

ten years. So just a little dab, little dab will do you....do you guys remember

that saying oh wow, going back probably long time ago. Now look at the difference

between the two. You got this side and this side, but I didn't put too much on

so now I'm going to take the shine away from this side and if it's too greasy

under there your mascaras gonna transfer. You can have all kinds of yucky things

happen. So there we go. That's it just small dab and we are done.

Next is the blush. So next as I said it's the blush and I really like this kind of

three color brush, a blush rather. I'm using a brush like this, but if you don't

want to buy the the brush quite yet you can use a little bit of cotton batten

and just very carefully put it on. Not too much. You're gonna have to be really

really careful with this, but for me since I have the brush I'm gonna use it.

I just dab, just dab and I'm going to put a little bit here on the apples of my

cheeks I think that's what they call it. You see how that is and I'm pretty yeah

so just put a little bit there. Now if you noticed here there is a kind of a

darker part of this blush, so if I wanted to I can using a different brush here I

could do a bit of contouring with this and I don't know when we get older it

seems that our faces get wider. So sometimes you know I really want to show

yes I still have cheekbones and I'm going to put a little bit here and here

also the word I hate to use is jowls. The words awful but anyway put a little bit

of that contouring under here as well and that will sort of take away some of

the look of the jowls. Now also that blush brush that I had here just you

know just want to give it a little bit of color all over and yeah. So next is

the mascara and I absolutely love this mascara, it goes on well it comes off at

night well, it doesn't sort of go underneath my eyes it's a little bit

pricey though, but I also in the Burt's Bees I also tried the burst B's

and it was really quite good and I think it was at least half the price of this

one. So you know if you're on a budget or whatever you could certainly do that, oh

and by the way I'm going to link both of these and all the other products that

I'm using in the description. I'm going to put a link to the blog and then at

the blog you'll be able to click on these products, see really what they were

and if you want to purchase them I have to say this on the video we do get a

little bit of a commission and that's really helping us to keep going with the

videos. A big THANK YOU if your doing that. Okay we

really appreciate it. Mascara time. Now what you want to do

with mascara, first of all thank you to all of the comments that have told me, do

not pump. I used to go pumping the mascara in here and do not pump your

mascara just pull it out of the wand like that if you pump the mascara you're

gonna put air in it and it'll dry out faster. So that's good thing to know

thanks everybody for those wonderful comments about that. Okay so I'm just

feathering the upper lashes here just a little feather

not too much and I'm gonna do another coat again but that's about it for now

and we're gonna let that coat dry and now we're going to work on the next part.

So we're waiting for that to dry. I've got this eyebrow pencil and you can

see it's got a little spooley on the bottom and the color I'm using is blonde.

Now we're all different colors and that sort of thing, so blonde is good for me

it's also you know a lighter color if you've got the silver hair growing in or

maybe you dyed your hair silver but be really careful that you're not getting

too dark of of an eyebrow look cuz it's really gonna be harsh on this. We're

going...that we want this to be a natural enhancement that's what the whole thing

is all about. A little natural enhancement and my

really true heartfelt wish is that you know maybe you've got a little more

confidence with that especially as you're maybe rising up in a few years

here. Brush the eyebrows up. Now if you are a mature woman some of your eyebrows

have left and not returned. So we've got to fill that in here .I just sort of

brush up like this. I don't go zoom again so brush up and this one here, look at the

mess that is.....maybe Bill can show you the close-up of that like okay my eyebrows

are missing I don't know where they went but they just decided to be missing one

day oh and by the way I did a video on shaping your eyebrows so you really

should take a look at that. I'll put the link up there somewhere for you because

if I did all of these steps in length this video would be like three hours

long and we don't want to do that. It's just going to be....you should be able to

put on this real quick makeup in under five minutes

easy. Maybe not the first time, but you know so I'm drawing in those little

hairs.

And then she had hairs on her eyebrows.

Just brush them back up again. All right so we can do another coat of mascara

here and again just very carefully.

See how pretty that is and the eyeliner that's there is just kind of blending in

it's not really....can't notice that eyeliner which is what I wanted.

Now I also at this particular point, you don't have to do this if you don't want

to, but I like to just do a little bit on the bottom lashes. I find it really

really enhances the whole eyes and I

think it's a very worthwhile step. So for my eighth product it's this lipstick

crayon. You know what? I just found this lipstick crayon. I absolutely love it.

It's amazing and I'm going to just put it on here, but you know what, looking at

our lips what happened to our lips, like it's just when we're young we've got

those red lips and everything else and then the color just disappears

anyway, so let's just lighten them up a little bit and what I love about this

crayon is you can outline your lips and fill them in and you're done. The other

thing I love about this little crayon is the fact that it does have a lid for it.

I could put this in my back pocket I could really easily put it in my purse

and so it's really easy to carry as well. So all I'm gonna do I'm not gonna go

crazy here I'm just gonna outline my lips the way they naturally are.

See that.....

then I'm done. That's done. So hey for sure you got to put on a little bit of

lipstick because that bland look, not working is it. So there you go. I hope, I

really do hope that this makeup video really helps the rookies or those of you

that are just getting back into makeup. It's also great for those who are on a

budget or that don't want to do like the 20 odd steps that I did in some of the

other videos where you go, man you know this is gonna cost a fortune or

this is too long. This is really as I said easy peasy and some of the things,

some of the steps that I didn't use on this particular makeup is....I did not, you

know I really didn't use a lipstick liner. I didn't use my anti-shine cream

that I love. There wasn't highlighters and all that

sort of thing the other thing that I didn't use in this video was primer so

some of you are probably thinking oh my gosh should I get primer.

Well I found that the the Burt's Bees foundation that I use and probably other

foundations as well they work okay on your bare skin, but I would suggest that

at night time you put on a night cream and then the next day don't put on a day

cream because sometimes if you're putting on these powders it's just gonna

get really really blotchy or oily and that sort of thing. So I just put it on

the fresh skin of the morning which still has a little bit of the night

cream on. So at the end of most of my videos we bring in the cuteness factor
