How To Plan For The Future ~ More On Estate Planning by Blue Dot Wealth Management - Duration: 3:06.

Hi!

I'm Rob Young, owner of Blue Dot Wealth Management.

We are going to continue our conversation about Estate Planning and why it is important.

Sometimes, when we are talking about these kinds of things, we get a little lost in terminology,

so I thought I would tell you a couple of stories to illustrate how a Trust can be beneficial.

First, most people think you need to be old to have a Trust.

As these stories show, being prepared at any age is important.

So let me introduce you to Jennifer.

Jennifer was thinking ahead when her daughter Charlotte was born.

She made a good salary and talked to a planner about the "what if's" in life.

Through that discussion she purchased life insurance and set up a trust.

While she was happily married, she had concerns about some of her husband's family members

and had some concerns about his money habits so when she set up the trust for her daughter,

she was careful about who would control the money and how it could be used if she passed

away.

When her daughter was 5, Jennifer was diagnosed with terminal cancer and passed away in less

than six months.

Everything that had been put into place has allowed her husband and daughter to grieve

without worrying about day to day things.

Their home, Charlotte's college education, after school care, all of those things were

thought about ahead of time.

Furthermore, it was important to Jennifer that the life insurance pass directly to Charlotte

so that she had a legacy.

That was only possible with a Trust.

Our second story is about Tim & Kate.

Tim and Kate have three kids, one of whom is their son Dylan who is considered Special

Needs.

Caring for Dylan, while a labor of love, has made juggling careers and schedules difficult.

While they have been fortunate to make a good upper middle class income, they each have

had periods where they were part of layoffs.

They have, like Jennifer, made sure that they have plenty of life insurance to take care

of their three children.

Specifically, however, there is a part of their Trust that has a Special Needs provision

in it.

This allows Dylan to remain eligible for benefits that he would not be eligible for if he were

to inherit a large sum of money.

In the event that Tim and Kate pass first, they have a detailed plan in place with Trustees

that can help the family navigate care for Dylan.

Having that protection in place is invaluable and will take an immense amount of stress

off of Dylan's siblings and extended family.

Again, this kind of protection is only available in a Trust.

Not every family is going to go through these kinds of life changing events when they are

young but these things are far more common than people think.

I hope these stories have illustrated how having a trust in place helps everyday people.

Performing WellCAST: Yoga Practice for Performers - Duration: 3:34.

[Music]

Hello!

My name is Catherine Matuza.

I teach the Yoga for Performers class here at the University of Michigan,

and today I will be demonstrating two effective poses to help shake the dreaded spinal slouch.

If you have ever experienced back pain, neck pain or shoulder pain,

chances are it is related to your spinal mobility and alignment.

Our posture not only affects how we look and feel, but also how effectively we move and

breathe.

The good news is that with a little regular practice we can have a healthy spine and lose

the slouch.

To target the slouch, our best weapon is activating and stretching the thoracic spine.

This is the part of the spine that supports the ribs, heart and lungs,

or more simply, your upper back.

To bring some circulation and awareness to that area of the body I love the seated cactus

twist.

So let's try.

Sit on the edge of your seat.

Bring your feet together, flat onto the floor.

Bring your arms up, like a cactus.

Draw the navel gently in toward the spine.

Take a nice breath in.

As you breathe out, let your self twist to the right.

Feel that right elbow reach back, and feel the right shoulder blade come onto the spine.

Keep the belly button and the knees facing forward.

Come back to center.

Take a breath in.

As you breathe out, try the other side.

Twisting only as much as feels comfortable.

Keep the knees, the belly button facing forward,

and let that shoulder blade draw onto the spine.

Come back to center.

You can try this, stopping in the center like we just did,

or moving back and forth slowly.

Hopefully you'll feel a little bit more awareness on the upper back.

Now that we've warmed up the upper back let's try a well known yoga pose

called downward facing dog, but today modified with a chair.

Most people find this variation much more accessible and

it is a fantastic and quick way to lengthen and energize the spine.

Standing up, we'll find a chair again.

Place your hands on the back of the chair.

Have your feet hips width apart, and very slowly start to walk yourself back,

letting the chest drop toward the floor.

Keep the knees soft, the belly gently drawn in.

And allow the chest to just drape toward the floor, any amount.

As I reach my hips back, I feel lengthening across the skin of my waist.

My spine gets long.

And a nice stretch right across the front of the chest, the shoulders, the upper back.

Let your head stay between your arms,

and you could stay here for 3 to 5 to 10 breaths.

When you're ready to come out, very slowly soften your knees,

press the hands down into the back of the chair,

and walk yourself back in.

Take a moment to notice how you feel.

Remember to always stay safe by moving within your own range of motion and taking it slow.

When we move in smart, safe ways to maintain strength and mobility,

our bodies and minds will thank us!

Whats Up for September 2018 - Duration: 2:31.

[ ♪ ]

What's Up for September?

Set your sights beyond the solar system

and take a late summertime road trip along the Milky Way.

Hello and welcome. I'm Jane Houton Jones from

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

The waning days of summer are upon us,

and the sun sets earlier

revealing the starry sky bisected by the Milky Way.

While waiting for the Milky Way

check out 2018's outstanding views of the planets!

You'll have to look quickly after sunset to catch Venus.

And through binoculars or a telescope

you'll see Venus's phase change dramatically during September --

from nearly half phase to a larger, thinner crescent.

Jupiter, Saturn and Mars continue their

brilliant appearances this month.

Look southwest after sunset.

[whoosh]

Use the sumer constellations to help you trace the Milky Way.

Sagittarius: where stars and some brighter clumps

appear as steam from the teapot.

Aquila: where the Eagle's bright star Altair,

combined with Cygnus's Deneb and Lyra's Vega,

mark the Summer Triangle.

Cassiopeia: the familiar "w"-shaped constellation

completes the constellation trail

through the summer Milky Way.

[whoosh]

Between September 12th and the 20th

watch the moon pass from near Venus,

above Jupiter, to the left of Saturn,

and finally above Mars.

Both Neptune and brighter Uranus can be spotted

with some help from a telescope this month.

Look at about 1 a.m. local time or later

in the southeastern sky.

You can find Mercury just above Earth's eastern horizon

shortly before sunrise.

Use the moon as your guide on September 7th and 8th.

And although there are no major meteor showers in September,

cometary dust appears in another late summer sight:

the morning Zodiacal Light.

Try looking for it in the east

on moonless mornings very close to sunrise.

To learn more about the Zodiacal Light,

watch "What's Up" from March 2018.

You can catch up on all of NASA's

current and future missions at: www.nasa.gov

That's all for this month. I'm Jane Houston Jones.

4 Easy Outfits For Men | Topman Lookbook 2018 | Men's Fashion - Duration: 4:15.

It's a new season.

We've got new trends.

Here's what to wear and how to wear it.

Hi guys, how are you?

I'm Robin.

Welcome back to my YouTube channel and welcome to this new style video.

Now, this video is in collaboration with Topman.

Absolutely everything you see is from there; you get it in store or online.

I will make sure to link everything down below.

Now, I wanted to do this one because it is a new season; I also realise that a lot of

you will be going back to school, back to College, University, or just like me, you

are thinking about what we want to be wearing into the new season.

So I've picked out some of my absolute favorite pieces from Topman and I've made sure that

all of it is interchangeable.

It's classic, it's contemporary and it means that you're not spending too much.

Now, I want you to tell me which of the looks that you're going to see is your favourite.

I've done a poll card up there and you can also let me in the comments.

But my first look which could actually be my favourite is this denim one here.

This is perhaps the most versatile outfit out of all of these here.

I think the key thing about this is just its simplicity.

There are no slogans, there's nothing too garish.

It's really about that silhouette with a pair of black skinny jeans then a denim jacket

over the top.

Also, because they're different tones of denim you can really mix them and then going with

that really muted color palette of the grey t-shirt which is slightly chunky and oversized

but tucked in with the cap sleeves just really brings it all together, and then the boots

which are the real statement of this whole outfit; brown suede, the detailing with the

laces right around the back.

Now, moving slightly smarter into the second outfit with this suit.

You'll remember from my suit video with Topman just the other month actually, that they've

got an absolutely huge range of suits, but this is my favorite from the current season.

Now, I've styled this one slightly more casually so it's not a sort of traditional office look.

It's something a little bit more contemporary, especially that white t-shirt which is the

white version really of the grey one here.

Definitely not for the fainthearted; really is making a statement with the blue check,

also color picking with the shoes which has these interchangeable laces with the red and

the blue.

For me, I really wanted a pair of smarter trousers in this and these with the elasticated

waist and the tapered effect I think just work perfectly.

Again, something maybe for work or into the weekend if you like a slightly sort of smarter

aesthetic.

And there's a common misconception here that you're wearing a smartish pair of trousers,

you have to wear a pair of smart shoes but actually, it really does work with a look

like I've done here with the trainers.

Now, we're still with the trainers but it's a completely different look in this final

one here.

This one is definitely getting into the slightly cooler months which I'm sure we're not far

off in the UK.

It's all about layering.

You have the check shirt which again could be actually worn with any of the trousers

we've seen before and then the mustard color cable knit.

Now, I was never a fan of mustard until I realized actually, that it's a color that

suits just about anyone; slightly fairer guys with blonde hair or guys with dark hair.

It will work and it's a nod towards the autumn but without totally the leaving the summer

behind.

And then the darker wash denim with the straight leg fit which I absolutely love at the moment.

I find them really comfy.

They also look slightly smarter than a skinny and also you can roll them up slightly to

show off a bit of softcore whatever those trainers or shoes you might be wearing and

then, finished off with the accessories, with the bag and also with the watch which you

have seen across the other looks.

And then obviously, you can layer again with a coat or a jacket like I've done with the

denim one that we saw before and that's exactly this.

I mean I'm looking here and I can already see various different combinations that you

can do.

So the key thing about this is buying a few key pieces that really are classic and contemporary

and just mix and match and see whatever happens.

I have linked all of them down below.

You can check it out.

Let me know which is your favorite up there and also in the comments below.

But thank you very much for watching.

If you're new to my channel, you've not yet pressed subscribe, then hit that subscribe

button right now.

It's just up there.

There are also more video suggestions down there.

Stay with me; watch them.

My blog's there.

My Instagram and my podcast are up there.

I'll see you in my next new video.

Bye-bye.

Serayah's Advice For Being A Triple Threat, Time Management, & More | Life Advice | | TRL - Duration: 1:48.

- Hey what's up, this is Serayah,

and I'm gonna help you guys out with some of your questions

about some life advice.

(pop music)

How do I break out and become a singer and an actress

and presenter at the same time?

Presenting usually comes with your celebrity,

but to break out and become a singer and actress,

I would just say to just really work on your craft,

put yourself out there, let people know what you do.

A lot of it is who you know.

If you know my story, then it is who you know,

and you never know when your time is right

and when it's gonna pop up.

How do I get people to notice me without changing

who I am?

That's something that's so pressured nowadays.

I feel like because of social media,

a lotta people feel like they have to act just crazy

to get attention, and I don't think that that's necessarily

the route if it's not you.

Doing whatever is you is gonna get you attention,

and people will respect it.

My boyfriend wants me to grow out my hair

but I keep it short.

I'm afraid he'll leave me if I don't.

What should I do?

Girl.

Listen.

Whatever you wanna do with your hair, do with your hair.

It's just hair.

If he cares that much about hair to leave you, then peace.

I need help managing my time as I start my music career.

Any tips?

Time management is hard in itself.

Put as much time as you can into your career,

into your music, find some sort of balance

in extra activities like going out, things like that,

maybe cut that down.

For me it's planning ahead.

Alright ya'll, this was life advice with me,

and I hope that your lives are so much better now.

I love this game.

Tweet me anytime you want to by the way.

Look out for So Good, my new single.

Unleash your curiosity with the Center for Global Education at Gettysburg College - Duration: 1:50.

I had no Chinese language experience prior, so

I was going in there as blind as you could.

I would be able to be the first student to go to Senegal from Gettysburg.

I'm from California, I used to kind of go camping like not really

and camping started like as soon as we got there.

I spent my fall in Shanghai.

I studied abroad in Dakar, Senegal.

and I studied abroad in Tanzania, Africa.

I did get to go up to see the Great Wall of China.

So I got to sit down on a woman's club evening

for the village that I was in, Gingenao.

I slept outside on a cowhide just there in the wilderness.

I was appreciating some of the subtle nuances and small advantages of an

alternative economic system, political system.

Talking to these real people

who have these issues and also like still want so much for other people and

the kindness and the welcoming that I was given while I was there

are definitely one of the things that I'll always remember.

There's a tendency to view Africa it's like a very homogenous place but it's massive and so

many different cultures and diasporas, you know I never really thought about that before I went.

Breaking: Saraki officially declares for presidency - Duration: 12:45.

Nigeria's Senate president Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has officially declared his intention to seek the office of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria. Saraki made the declaration on Thursday, August 30.

The Senate president made this declaration at Sheraton hotel where he met with young aspirants of the PDP.

In a statement made available to us, Saraki that the choice Nigerians face in the forthcoming election is either to keep things as they are, or make a radical departure from the old ways.

"Let me say, once again, how wonderful it is to see so many talented and purposeful young people at this first edition of the public dialogue series with political parties on youth candidacy and party primaries.

Looking at you, I see future leaders who present themselves as capable and worthy to take on the mantle of leadership in this country, and this gladdens my heart.

"From my interactions with many of you, and with your contemporaries across the country, I can see that we are blessed with a determined generation that stands ready to join with us to power a Nigerian renaissance.

The quality of people I see here today affirms my belief that, indeed, you are Not Too Young To Run.

"I deeply appreciate this opportunity to share some of my ideas about where we are as a nation, as well as the challenges before us as we approach the great decider that is the 2019 general elections.

"It is widely acknowledged that ours is a relatively 'young' country bursting with tremendous energy, ability and potential. More than 70 per cent of our population is under the age of 40. You are indeed the future of this country.

Ordinarily, such a young population would be the envy of many Western countries that are faced with ageing populations, but the dire state of our affairs tarnishes the youthful advantage that we have.

"Up and down our country today, Nigerians are crying out for succour. Many of our children are hungry.

Many people are dying of avoidable or otherwise treatable diseases. Many have fallen below basic living standards, and are now among the 87 million that sealed Nigeria's position as the country with the highest number of people in extreme poverty.

Our young people lack opportunities. The necessary education facilities and system to equip them for the future simply do not exist.

We are not creating the jobs needed to usefully engage them in order to grow our economy. And too often, the youth feel shut out, prevented from having any say in the direction of this nation.

"The harsh conditions of extreme poverty faced by the people, fuels the state of insecurity all over the country. Hunger, lack of education and lack of opportunities push many Nigerians into criminal activities including terrorism.

Many of our communities are paralysed with fear - due to incessant communal crises, kidnappings and other social ills, as well as the threat of terrorism. We are failing abysmally to tackle the problems of today and to prepare for the future.

"Our economy is broken and is in need of urgent revival in order for Nigeria to grow. GDP growth rate has declined. Diversification remains an illusion. Unemployment is at an all-time high.

Businesses are shutting down. Jobs are being lost in record numbers, and the capital needed to jumpstart our economy is going elsewhere. "Nigeria is perhaps more divided now than ever before. We are increasingly divided along regional, religious and ethnic lines.

Nigerians are also divided by class, a festering gulf between the 'Haves' and the 'Have-Nots'. The fault lines of this nation are widening to an alarming degree. We must do something fast, and we must be brave about it.

"We must ensure the security of lives in Nigeria. As things stand now, no one is safe in this country.

No one feels truly safe. We must restore the sanctity of the rule of law and strengthen democratic institutions in order to build a just, fair and equitable society for all.

We must rebuild the trust of our people in government. We need a new generation of leaders that are competent, with the capability to rise to the challenges of the 21st century.

We must pull this country back together and rebuild, block by block, with dedication and commitment. "You will agree with me that this is an urgent task that requires the concerted efforts of each and every one of us.

If we look around today, what do we see? What is the condition of our citizens? Where are we as a nation? How are we perceived locally and internationally? Why are we not making the expected progress? Why are we not growing? There is no time to waste.

The time is now, to come together to stimulate growth in Nigeria, especially in the national economy. "The choice we face in the forthcoming election is either to keep things as they are, or make a radical departure from the old ways.

To find a better way of doing things or keep repeating the mistakes of the past. To fix the problems or keep compounding them.

"It is with all these in mind, and taking account of the challenges that I have outlined, that I have decided to answer the call of teeming youth who have asked me to run for president.

Accordingly, I hereby announce my intention to run for the office of president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the coming general elections in 2019 on the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

I do so with the firm conviction that I have what it takes to secure inclusive growth for Nigeria and Nigerians. "My plan for Nigeria has inclusion in all aspects of the country's affairs as a central pillar.

Every citizen has the inalienable right to feel a sense of belonging, no matter their background or creed, or what part of the country they come from.

No matter who you voted for or what your convictions are, government must work for you. "Your generation does not deserve to live in the poverty capital of the world.

It is no longer an issue of how we got here, but how do we get out of this situation? I promise you that I will lead the fight and employ every God-given resource available to us in turning things around.

I am determined to grow Nigeria out of poverty. We will stimulate the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as one of the ways of energising the economy and to create wealth for our people, especially the youth.

"I want to see the youth play major roles at all levels, not only in government but also in the private sector and indeed in every area of Nigerian life.

This will be a government driven by youthful energy, innovation and a pioneering entrepreneurial spirit. Nigerian youth will be given all the opportunities to realise their potential to the full within a national framework that guarantees inclusiveness.

For youth who have ideas and capacity, we will make sure that there is funding for their ventures; and we shall build on the Made in Nigeria legislation as part of our job creation drive.

"My plan is to secure Nigeria by redesigning our national security architecture, while adequately equipping our security agencies to fulfil their primary role of protecting lives and property.

"I will address our infrastructural deficit through aggressive financing initiatives including mutually beneficial PPP arrangements, regular floating of bonds and other financial instruments, which will ensure stable, adequate and reliable funding to see to the completion of core projects especially road, rail and power.

"My plan is to protect all Nigerians and defend their constitutional rights and freedoms. I will stand for and uphold at all times the principle of the rule of law, which is the bedrock of democratic governance.

Ours will not be a selective fight against corruption. The emphasis will be on strengthening institutions, with a particular focus on deterrence.

We cannot afford to compromise our institutions with proxy wars against perceived political opponents. We see the fight against corruption as crucial to Nigeria's economic development.

"I offer leadership driven by empathy. Where leaders are responsive to the citizens. Where they know that government cares. We will not be indifferent or turn a blind eye to the real concerns of our people. Every single Nigerian life matters.

"For me, the leadership we deserve is one that will be a source of pride to all Nigerians, one that will be respected and admired in Africa and around the world.

It should be a leadership that can hold its own and stand tall anywhere in the world. That is the type of leadership I offer.

"As a former two-term Governor and currently President of the Senate by the grace of God, I believe I possess a unique blend of executive and legislative experience to push for and implement reforms that will deliver real improvements in the daily lives of our people.

I know what it takes to create jobs and grow the economy. I can make the tough decisions when it matters. I will spearhead a new agenda that can transform the lives of ordinary Nigerians in real terms.

"Believe me when I say that it will not be business as usual. This will be a dynamic government of action that will pursue the growth of Nigeria with doggedness, determination and conviction. I will lead a result-driven administration.

"We shall set targets with clear timelines to ensure that anticipated deliverables are met. You can benchmark us and hold us accountable.

In short, I assure you that I will deliver on all promises. What I envision is a new chapter in governance in this country. We will be driven by what is best for Nigerians.

"I have deliberately chosen the opportunity of being here with you, my number one constituency who I see as the future of our great country, to make my intention known.

I believe the Nigerian youth are critical to rebuilding and growing the economy, and restoring our national pride.".

Performing WellCAST: Injury Prevention for the Performing Artist - Duration: 6:14.

Thank you for joining us for Injury Prevention for the Performing Artist.

This video provides a general overview on injury prevention techniques and concepts

that can be helpful for all performing artists, but does not completely eliminate the risk

of injury for the performer.

As always, please contact a qualified health professional if you experience any pain with

performing and refer to the extensive referral network provided by the School of Music, Theatre

and Dance.

Hi, I'm Kristen Schuyten.

I'm a physical therapy clinical specialist and performing arts rehabilitation coordinator

with Michigan medicine.

Injury prevention for the Performing Artist can be broken down into the 5 P's: Posture,

Practice, Performance, Pain and Protection.

Posture: involves your body's alignment in all positions of performance, including

seated, standing and in changing in and out of positions.

Common alignment concerns, which may lead to injury, include rounded shoulders, forward

head, increased lumbar lordosis/anterior pelvic tilt or even a posterior pelvic tilt when

seated.

Neck sidebending/rotation, which is common in string players can lead to side to side

imbalances.

Proper positioning can unload and support the spine while Improper Head, neck, back

positioning can create muscle strength, flexibility and spinal segmental imbalances.

You may go from general tightness/cramping, such as feeling a "stitch in my neck",

to chronic tissues changes that are that much more challenging to reverse.

Practice: it is well known that what you do in practice you will do in performance and

repetition will not only lead to motor programming between your brain and utilization of muscles,

but also lead to changes in your body structure.

Performers need to be mindful of the limits of their body and to not push too fast too

soon.

You must pay close attention to correct technique and realize the effect that fatigue may have

on your technique.

Also, the importance of warm-up before practicing, along with consuming fluids and taking breaks

during your practice sessions is necessary to ensure proper fueling and hydration to

your body.

Wearing properly fitting clothing, shoes, and taking advantage of ergonomic modifications

as appropriate will help to decrease the stress and strain to your skin and other body tissues.

Performing an adequate cool down –not just getting in your car and driving home after

a practice session--is necessary to normalize your body after you have just asked substantial

work from it.

Consuming proper nutrition and stretching will also help with your body's recovery

and peak performance.

Perform: what differs from practice and actually performing in a show?

So much!

Not only is your adrenaline rushing to push through any limitations, but it can also affect

your awareness of your surroundings/environment.

Being on a stage that you are unfamiliar with, or with lighting that you are not prepared

for, all can increase the risk of injury.

Also, there is a definite effect of costuming on the stress and strain to your body, such

as with musical theatre microphones and heavy headwear, this can affect your head and load

to the entire body.

Finally, most performers try to push through limitations to be able to complete a show,

but there is a deleterious effect on your already compromised tissue in performing when

injured.

It can not only injure this first area further, but lead to other injuries as your body is

not able to perform 100%.

Pain: This is your body providing communication that something is wrong.

As a performer, you need to resist the temptation to perform through pain.

So, when is pain a concern and who should you contact to help?

If your pain is consistent, or worsening, is sharp in nature or radiates down a limb,

you need to contact a health care professional.

If you have any questions about your pain, talk with a faculty member and there is a

referral list through SMTD for your use to address your health concerns.

Also, we have monthly triage clinics available to talk one-on-one with clinicians that are

familiar with performing artist concerns on-site within the Dance building and Moore.

Protection: a majority of performing arts injuries sustained during performance or practice

are actually not traumatic in nature, they involve cumulative microtrauma leading to

injury.

As a health care professional, I am concerned about this overuse and chronic injury pattern

as not only will it effect your ability to perform right now, but there is a substantial

effect of current injuries and faulty movement patterns on the longevity of your career and

injuries/disease processes that may affect you in the future.

Cross training can be utilized to effectively decrease your risk of injury and improve the

longevity of your career, along with building endurance and strength for performance.
