LOCK HER UP TRUMP DEMANDS JAIL TIME FOR TOP HILLARY CLINTON AIDE
Hillary Clinton's top aide Huma Abedin just got some bad news when President Donald Trump
demanded that the Department of Justice launch an investigation into both her and FBI Director
James Comey.
Right Wing News reported that Trump said that Abedin violated the most basic of government
security protocols pertaining to classified information and that she literally handed
sensitive passwords over into the hands of foreign agents.
When Abedin was Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff at the State Department, she sent passwords
for her government laptop to her Yahoo account on August 24, 2009.
"Crooked Hillary Clinton's top aide, Huma Abedin, has been accused of disregarding basic
security protocols.
She put Classified Passwords into the hands of foreign agents.
Remember sailors pictures on a submarine?
Jail!
Deep State Justice Dept must finally act?
Also on Comey & others," Trump tweeted.
An FBI report states that on August 16, 2010, Abedin received an email "with the subject
'Re: your yahoo acct.'
Abedin did not recall the email and provided that despite the content of the email she
was not sure that her email account had ever been compromised."
"Abedin was shown an email dated October 4, 2009, with the subject 'Fwd: US interest
in Pak Paper 10-04' which Abedin received from [redacted] and then forwarded to her
Yahoo email account….
At the time of the email, [redacted] worked for Richard Holbrooke who was the Special
Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP).
Abedin was unaware of the classification of the document and stated that she did not make
judgments on the classification of materials that she received," the report said.
Though it is clear that Clinton and Abedin mishandled classified information, they were
never prosecuted after an investigation led by disgraced FBI counterintelligence agent
Peter Strzok determined that Clinton's behavior did not warrant litigation.
"We do assess that hostile actors gained access to the private email accounts of individuals
with whom Secretary Clinton was in regular contact from her private account," said
Comey when explaining the FBI's exoneration of the former Secretary
of State.

The night isn't for sleeping - Duration: 3:14.
I feel safe at night
I feel like my mind can finally be at rest
During the day I always feel..
tangled..
In the life of others
I wake up in the morning feeling like everyone
Myself included,
Are pretending
Like we're all character in some big theatrical play
in which the entire world is our stage
There's such a freedom at night
I feel an infinite amount of opportunities opening in front of me
Like a garden with corners I never explored
Where the internet, books, the entire world sits in the palm of my hand
ready to satisfy all of my curiosities
How lovely
I know many will find this trivial
But I love the night because it allows me to be with myself
to think, leave mundane worries behind
it's reassuring
It reminds me there's always a sunrise awaiting
the night keeps in its depths the premises of the world
And I always needed this solace
And yet, the night is the mother of great anguish, too.
the most dreadful thoughts in me were born at night
It's just.. that I don't really feel like myself sometimes
I feel like I'm never in the right place
like my true home is somewhere else
Where are the perks of feeling like I don't belong?
this ceaseless brooding..
believing that the world is leaving you behind..
and maybe that's true..
the world is spinning.. everything goes on no matter what
and it's like you don't matter
I love the night because it speaks to me in dreams
the day tells too many harsh truths
The night makes me feel like everything is freeze
it relieves this feeling of not living my life to the fullest
I like to think there's someone just like me
looking at the ceiling at 4 in the morning
wondering if somebody will ever understand
If you're there, I hope we will meet in a dream
and please
don't be late...
Love always, P.

Best Double Stroller for Two Kids? We Discuss with Jen Chae! - Duration: 10:28.
(upbeat music)
- It's key to be able to do it yourself.
- For sure. - Yep.
- And not need a man.
Know what I'm sayin'? - For sure.
- I don't need a man for my stroller. (laughing)
(upbeat music)
Hello, everyone, welcome to FAM: For All Moms!
My name is Sharzad,
this is Susan,
and our beautiful guest today, Jen Chae,
from From Head to Toe.
And she's about to have her second little baby.
And you look amazing. - Yeah.
- Oh my goodness.
So very pregnant.
I feel like a whale.
- So very pregnant.
And because you're about to have your second,
you're probably doing a lot of research on
the double stroller.
- I am. - Right?
- Oh, yes. - 'Cause you have two littles.
And so that's what we're going to talk
about today, you guys.
We're gonna talk about finding the right double stroller.
Before we even talk about the stroller
you've kind of decided on,
which is the Bugaboo Donkey2.
That one right there, you guys.
We'll talk about it, but before you made that decision,
what were you looking for in a double stroller?
- Well, I definitely like having
a good basket for storage,
if we go grocery shopping.
Just enough space where I can--
- Throw some stuff down there,
put your purse down there. - Right.
- Your backpack.
Okay, so some trunk storage in a way.
- Yeah, yeah. - Okay.
- And I also
want it to be able to have the
infant carrier at the same time as a toddler seat.
- Oh, like a bassinet?
Like a bassinet next to it?
- A bassinet, or just be able to click in a,
like an infant car seat.
- Car seat, got it.
- 'Cause we used that all the time when Aria was little.
We would just push her in the car seat,
in the stroller - Yep.
It's so easy, yeah.
- The convertible thing,
we already have
a good car seat from before.
So I wanted something that would obviously
work with the car seats that we already have.
- And so Bugaboo fit into that?
- Yes, and actually I think that it works with
both of the infant car seats that we have, so.
- Oh, that's awesome.
- This seems like the most high-tech thing,
- I know. - I've ever seen.
I don't know what goes on in here,
and I can't wait for you guys to tell me (chuckles).
- Well, okay, so I got a little bit of a tutorial.
I'll let you guys know.
I got a little bit of a tutorial
from the brand right before we got this.
And so if you guys don't know,
what happens behind the scenes is,
we do all this research on what kind of stroller
we want to get and stuff.
And then we pick it out and we have,
we obviously work with the brand
to bring it into the video.
And so that's kind of what happened with this one.
And this is gonna be Jen's new stroller.
- For her little baby boy. - Yeah, fun new gift.
And I got a little tutorial on it.
And it's really exciting 'cause
there were all these things I was thinking.
When I first saw this, I was like,
"Well, this looks like it's huge," right?
'Cause it looks like it's huge.
- Yeah it does. - Yeah.
- But then she pointed out,
she literally put it right next to my stroller,
and she was like, "But it's actually the same size
"as your stroller."
It just looks bigger because there's so much more
happening up here it looks like.
But the actual base of it, and the frame of it
is exactly the same size as my stroller.
- As a one-seat stroller, okay.
- Well, one-seat stroller that I have downstairs.
So that's kind of incredible.
I love that you have this.
What is that basket? - For anything you want.
- You could put anything you want?
- [Sharzad] You could put a loaf of bread in there
and some flowers. - Yeah.
You can put anything you want.
It zips open; it holds up to 22 pounds
is what she was saying.
- So you could put a kettle bell inside
if you wanted to. - Yes, you definitely can.
And you've got the basket underneath.
So you actually can go grocery shopping.
Or you could have a really dope picnic (chuckles).
- Yeah, I also
I haven't seen this kind of side-storage system
with other strollers. - Same.
- But it's nice that you don't have to
bend all the way down and dig through stuff.
And it also just,
it's covered. - Yep.
- So you're not worried about people,
if you put your purse inside. - Yeah.
- About people being handsy.
- It's fancy. - Yeah.
And it's really easy - I love it.
- To open it up; to remove it.
So you just gotta,
there's these little clicks on the side
that everything clicks into.
And that's the same with the seats.
So it clicks in, and then you can just click it out
if you want to.
And you can actually click the seat out
really easily too if you want to collapse it.
You can collapse it with the seat in,
or you can collapse it with the seat out.
And that was kind of the thing
that really sold me on it was,
first off it's really easy.
There are three clips.
When you want to expand it, there are three clips.
You unclip them,
you expand it really easily.
You just go like, bloop, and it expands.
- [Sharzad] So it goes longways?
- To the side. - Oh.
Oh. - So it goes to the side.
Yeah, when you open it up
it still fits through standard doorways;
the average size of a door.
And then you just go, click.
She said you get a basinet,
and you get a cover for a regular seat too.
So you get the option of both
when you order this.
And so you can buy two basinets
or two seats with it.
And so that's when you pop it open.
And she said, again, you can collapse it
with the seats in.
Or you can just easily go, click,
or have your adapters too.
And click.
Take the seats out and just collapse it completely.
So it's really cool. - I feel like if you're
a twin mom, I mean, it's like you have
to have a double stroller. - Yeah.
And the babies get to be side-by-side.
- Yeah. - I'm sure so many moms
have those strollers where
they're right on top of each other.
- They stack, yeah.
- And I guess it much work out,
'cause those sell, right?
- Yeah, totally.
- But I like this option better.
I think this is a really cool option.
- This is so high-tech.
- You know what else I liked about it?
- Tell us, Susan. - It's light.
- Really? - It's really, really light.
- It doesn't look like it would be light.
Tell me more.
- It's lighter than my
stroller downstairs for one kid.
- What, really? - Really.
- It's lighter.
You can use one hand, even with two of the seats.
- Oh, you know what?
That's a non-negotiable for me.
- Yeah. - Is I feel like,
for any strollers that I get, the push is so important.
Because if you're going to have a stroller,
that's the whole point is,
you have to be able to push your kid around.
Your kid, they add a substantial amount of weight.
- Yeah. - So I feel like having
a really smooth push is just such a life-saver.
- This has a really smooth push.
And you can adjust the handle to a height that you like;
that you desire. - I like that.
- I'm super short. - I know.
- Or, super tall, right?
And you and Ben, - Yeah, my husband.
- Are two different heights.
- He's over a foot taller than me
so we definitely make use of the varying sizes.
- [Sharzad] Flexible, adjustable stroller height.
- Yeah, it's super, super cool.
And one last thing that she told me,
I was like, "Okay, sold, this is Jen's."
(Jen chuckles) - I mean, obviously
you were like, "Yes, I want that one too."
- Yes, please. - We were talking
back and forth like, "Which one do you like?
"Which one do you like?"
It has new tires that are made of foam.
And so it's not with air anymore.
- Oh, wow. - That's what she was saying.
- Cool. - So this new Donkey2 has--
- You don't have to pump them up.
- Yeah, you don't have to pump them or anything like that.
And it still has nice bounce to it and everything.
And it's awesome.
Five-point harness, so you're not trying to adjust your,
get an arm through there.
The harness is a single-button release.
I did a whole tutorial, you guys.
I feel like I'm an expert on this now.
- I feel like you are an expert too.
- [Susan] And actually the hood comes pretty far down too.
- That's cool. - So if your baby falls asleep
you can recline your baby almost all the way.
Or Aria, toddler.
Toddler baby or infant baby can recline then.
And then cover them.
- Yeah, and it's just zipped up.
- And you unzip it. - And it's the same color?
- Yeah, and you get to choose your color.
You get to choose the color of where the red, maroon
color that you see,
you get to choose that color.
And you get to also choose where it's gray,
you get to choose that color too.
So it comes with the same frame,
and that one frame can be either the seat that you see,
or it can be a basinet.
You're just changing out the fabric.
The other cool thing is,
see the seat, we have it facing out right now.
But you can actually unclick it really easily,
and turn it.
So you can have it facing you too.
- That's cool. - Which is really nice.
- When they're little?
- 'Cause when they're tiny,
and they just want to see the parents.
- But then at some point-- - Little Aria's like,
"I don't want to look at your face."
- She's like, "I want to see the trees,
"and the cars and wave to people."
Yeah, but it's really nice when you can see
your little fresh baby.
- And then the other thing,
to that point of the weight distribution,
she said the weight distribution
is really awesome with this.
It's very balanced and easy.
So when you are trying to hop a curb or something,
it's really easy, she said.
- The fact that, yeah, you can put a whole other seat
on there, and then it's so adjustable and flexible.
It's great. - Yeah, and then when you
don't need the other seat at some point,
maybe Aria's gonna outgrow a stroller.
- Or she'll be on a scooter or something.
- Yeah, something like that.
Then you just go, bloop, and you turn it back into one.
- But then you can also get the attachment
for the board on the back. - Oh, yeah.
- Oh, see, and I didn't even know that part.
- Scooter.
I love researching baby products.
- Yeah. - I looked at so many
double strollers. - Oh, really?
- Oh yes, oh yes.
- And this is the winner.
This is the one that stole your heart.
- It's very unique.
- It is really unique.
- I've never seen anything else that--
- That goes to the side like that.
- I hear ya.
Baba boom, baba boom, baba boom, baba boom.
- Accordion style, yeah.
This one is definitely,
I mean, this one's definitely a luxury product.
- The fact that it'll fold
as a whole unit, but also separated,
it means that even if I were by myself--
- You could take-- - Just pop off the pieces
and I could still fold it all myself,
and hold it and carry it
into the car by myself. - That's key.
- You can start using it right now because it's--
- I know, it's a single.
- It's a single, and you have Aria, so.
- Mm-hm. - If you want to take
some walks, you can give it a test drive.
- A little test drive, I like that.
- I'm not taking as many walks as I should.
- (chuckles) No, I understand.
- I'll take some waddles.
- [Sharzad] Take some waddles.
Waddling is good. - Yep.
- I'm so happy for you and the journey
that you're about top embark on.
- Thank you. - And the chaos
that's gonna go down.
It's a wild ride.
Thank you so much for coming on here.
And I'm so pumped for you
that you get to take this baby home.
And life your best life with that stroller.
- Thank you so much for having me.
- Yeah, it was so much fun.
You know what?
It was so much fun to do this research
and pick out a stroller for you,
and go back and forth with you,
and figure out what would be the best one.
Because I feel like it makes me a little bit
more knowledgeable too. - Yeah, when you do have
number two. - I feel like I really know.
Yeah, well that, and also, people are always asking
about product recommendations on FAM,
our private Facebook group and stuff.
And I feel like now I know which double stroller
to tell them. - Exactly, that's really cool.
- I know, I learned so much
during the whole process as well,
because I didn't know a stroller like this
even existed. - Right.
- Neither did I, yep.
Yep, it's very cool.
Thank you guys so much for watching this episode of FAM.
And be sure to keep up with Jen.
Follow her YouTube channel, Instagram.
She creates amazing content.
Wish her lots of luck on her new adventure.
- Actually, by the time this video posts
you'll probably have your baby.
- I'll probably have the baby. - Yes, for sure, for sure.

>>> GOOD EVENING, AND WELCOME TO
"METROFOCUS."
I'M JENNA FLANAGAN.
ARE DOCTORS TO BLAME FOR THE
OPIOID CRISIS?
ASK THE MAJORITY OF NEW YORKERS,
AND THEY'D SAY YES ACCORDING TO
FINDINGS IN THE RECENT SURVEY
CONDUCTED BY SIENNA COLLEGE.
MANY FINGERS CAN BE POINTED AT
VARIOUS ENTITIES, WHAT IS
CERTAIN AND SAD, THAT ACCORDING
TO THIS NEW SURVEY, OVER HALF OF
ALL NEW YORKERS HAVE FELT THE
IMFACT OF THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC IN
SOME WAY.
ONE OF THE JOURNALISTS REPORTING
FROM THE FRONT LINES OF THIS
BATTLE IS TIMES UNION REPORTER
BETHANY BUMP WHO JOINS US NOW
WITH DETAILS ON PRECIPISCRIPTIO
FOR PROGRESS.
BETHANY, WELCOME TO THE PROGRAM.
>> THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME.
>> WHEN IT COMES TO THE ORIGIN
OF WHOSE FAULT IS THIS OPIOID
CRISIS, WHAT HAS YOUR REPORTING
LED YOU TO UNDERSTAND?
>> ACCORDING TO THE SIENNA
COLLEGE SURVEY CONDUCTED, A
LARGE NUMBER OF NEW YORKERS
BELIEVE THAT DOCTORS REALLY ARE
THE ONES TO BLAME HERE FOR
OVERPRESCRIBING OPIOID PAIN
PILLS.
YOU KNOW, SOMEBODY GOES IN FOR A
BROKEN FOOT OR TO GET THEIR
WISDOM TEETH OUT AND THEY LEAVE
WITH A BOTTLE OF 60 HYDROCODONE.
SO THEY FEEL THAT DOCTORS, IN
PARTICULAR, HAVE BEEN SORT OF
CAVALIER.
BUT IF YOU WERE TO ACTUALLY TALK
TO PHYSICIANS AND OTHER PEOPLE
ON THE FRONT LINES OF THIS, THEY
SAY THERE'S A LOT OF FACTORS AT
PLAY HERE.
WHAT WE SAW IN LIKE THE LATE
'80s AND EARLY '90s WAS THIS
PUSH FROM GOVERNMENT, FROM
ACCREDITING AGENCIES TO SORT OF
PUSH HOSPITALS TO START
ADDRESSING PAIN AS WHAT THEY SAY
AS THE FIFTH VITAL SIGN.
SO THESE HOSPITALS WERE RATED
ACCORDING TO PATIENT
SATISFACTION.
WELL, THE BEST WAY TO MAKE A
PATIENT SATISFIED WAS TO GIVE
THEM THE MEDICATION TO DEAL WITH
THEIR PAIN.
AND SO, YOU KNOW, YOU REALLY
HEARD FROM PHYSICIANS SAYING
IT'S NOT ALL OF OUR FAULT.
AND WE ALSO SAW WHEN GOVERNMENT
STARTED TO REALIZE THAT THERE
WAS A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE
BECOMING ADDICTED TO THESE PAIN
PILLS THEY STARTED TO CRACK DOWN
ON THE PRESCRIPTION OF THEM.
AND ONCE THEY DID THAT IT REALLY
STARTED TO FUEL THIS BLACK
MARKET.
A LOT OF PEOPLE HAD ADDICTIONS
TO THESE PILLS AND COULD NO
LONGER GET THEM AT THE DOCTOR'S
OFFICE AND SO THEY TURNED TO THE
STREETS AND WE OBVIOUSLY SAW
THAT DRUG DEALERS WERE MORE THAN
HAPPY TO MEET THAT DEMAND.
>> A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN
CRITICAL OF THE FACT THAT THE
PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY HAS SUCH
A STRONG LOBBYING FRONT THAT
IT'S MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR
ANYTHING TO HAPPEN AT THE
FEDERAL LEVEL.
WHAT HAS YOUR REPORTING SHOWN
YOU OF THE ROLE THE
PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY IS
PLAYING IN THIS?
>> A LOT OF DOCTORS HAD SOME
IDEA THAT THESE DRUGS COULD BE
ADDICTIVE, BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW
AT WHAT QUANTITY.
AND A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE SAID,
YOU KNOW, THIS IS ON THE DRUG
MANUFACTURERS.
THEY KNEW THAT THESE DRUGS HAD
ADDICTIVE QUALITIES, BUT THEY
WERE OUT TO MAKE A BUCK AND SO
THEY WERE REALLY INCENTIVIZING
DOCTORS TO OVERPRESCRIBE THEM.
AT THE END OF FEBRUARY OF THIS
YEAR, NEARLY 500 COUNTIES AND
300 CITIES AND TOWNS HAVE
ACTUALLY FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST
THESE DRUG COMPANIES OR TALKED
ABOUT FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST
THEM.
WE'VE SEEN THAT HERE IN NEW
YORK, THE STATE ITSELF HAS
JOINED ONTO THESE LAWSUITS, AS
HAVE NEW YORK CITY AND A BUNCH
OF COUNTIES HERE IN THE CAPITAL
REGION.
>> WHEN YOU MENTION THE BLACK
MARKET AND THAT A LOT OF THE
DRUGS WERE POPPING UP THERE WHEN
PEOPLE COULD NO LONGER GET THEM
PRESCRIBED BY THEIR DOCTORS,
WHAT'S THE SOURCE OF THE DRUGS
ON THE BLACK MARKET?
>> INITIALLY, WHAT WE HAD SEEN
AS THE PRESCRIPTION DRUGS WERE
BEING CUT OFF WAS A FLOODING OF
HEROIN ON THE MARKET.
NOW, HEROIN WAS KIND OF A DRUG
FROM DECADES PAST, BUT IT SORT
OF SPLURGED AGAIN AFTER THESE
PRESCRIPTION DRUGS WERE
INCREASINGLY BEING MONITORED AND
CUT DOWN.
WHAT IS CONCERNING PEOPLE IN THE
FIELD RIGHT NOW IS THAT WE ARE
SEEING NOT JUST HEROIN, BUT ALL
KINDS OF STREET DRUGS.
WE ARE SEEING HOMEMADE SAN EX-,
WE ARE SEEING COCAINE BEING
INCREASINGLY LACED WITH
FENTANYL, A VERY POWERFUL OPIATE
THAT'S PRESCRIBED TO CANCER
PATIENTS AT THE END OF THEIR
LIFE TO TREAT EXTREME PAIN.
IT'S 50 TIMES STRONGER THAN
HEROIN.
AND THIS FENTANYL IS FREQUENTLY
COMING FROM CHINA AND IT'S
ALREADY IN THE DRUG SUPPLY AND A
LOT OF THE DEALERS HERE DON'T
EVEN KNOW IT'S IN THE SUPPLY.
>> IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT
YOU CAN TELL US ABOUT WHAT'S
BEING DONE TO TRY TO ADDRESS
SOME OF THIS?
>> ACTUALLY, HERE IN THE CAPITAL
REGION WE DO HAVE QUITE A FEW
EXAMPLES.
WE HAVE A LOCAL HOSPITAL THAT
SORT OF RECOGNIZED, LIKE, WHEN
SOMEONE GOES TO THE EMERGENCY
ROOM, AND THEY'RE IN WITHDRAWAL
FROM OPIOID MEDICATION, THEY ARE
FREQUENTLY GETTING TURNED AWAY.
AND THE REASON FOR THIS IS
BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT AT RISK OF
DYING LIKE SOMEONE WITH AN
ALCOHOL ADDICTION OR SOMEONE
WHO'S ADDICTED TO B
BENZODIAZEPINE.
THEY ACTUALLY WON'T DIE FROM
THEIR WITHDRAWAL, THEY'LL FEEL
LIKE THEY'RE GOING TO DIE BUT
THEY WON'T.
SO A LOT OF EMERGENCY ROOM DETOX
BEDS ARE PRIORITIZED FOR PEOPLE
WHO WILL DIE.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THAT MOMENT IS
THAT PERSON WHO'S TERRIFIED OF
THEIR WITHDRAWAL PAINS AND NOT
GETTING HELP AT THE HOSPITAL, AT
THE EMERGENCY ROOM, IS GOING
BACK OUT ONTO THE STREET AND
USING THEIR DRUGS BECAUSE
THEY'RE TERRIFIED OF THEIR PAIN.
SO WE HAD ONE LOCAL HOSPITAL,
ST. WEATHERS PETERS, HERE IN
ALBANY, THEY OPENED SEVERAL
WALK-IN CLINICS AT VARIOUS
LOCATIONS AROUND THE REGION.
WHAT HAPPENS IS SOMEONE IS
TURNED AWAY FROM THE EMERGENCY
ROOM, THEY WILL BE REFERRED TO
THESE CLINICS.
AND RIGHT AWAY THEY WILL GET
DOSED WITH BUPRENORPHINE, WHICH
GOES BY THE NAME SUBOXONE, AND
THAT WILL TREAT THE CRAVINGS
THAT THEY HAVE FOR THE DRUG.
IT WILL ELIMINATE THEIR
WITHDRAWAL PAIN AND THEY CAN
STAY ON THAT DRUG UNTIL THEY
MOVE UP ON A WAITING LIST FOR AN
ACTUAL DETOX OR REHAB BED.
>> WELL, BETHANY, I WANT TO
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR
REPORTING OF PRESCRIPTION FOR
PROGRESS IS I BELIEVE THE NAME
OF THE SERIES.
WE WILL DEFINITELY BE FOLLOWING
YOUR WORK AS THIS CONTINUES TO
UNFOLD IN NEW YORK, BUT ALSO, OF
COURSE, ACROSS THE COUNTRY. 214 00:06:04,797 >> THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Why Is My Voice Hoarse? Vocal Care Tips for Singers (That Work) - Duration: 11:11.
Does your voice sound hoarse from time to time?
Maybe you sound hoarse after singing, maybe you wake up every morning with a hoarse voice
and it takes a considerable time to warm it up or maybe you sound hoarse in some parts
of your vocal range.
In this video, let me give you 8 most common reasons for hoarseness together with tips
how to get rid of it for good.
And if you stay, I will give you a free checklist of vocal behaviours that may be the reason
for your hoarseness.
Let's do this.
Hi, I am Katarina from How 2 Improve Singing and in this video, let's look at the most
common causes of hoarse voice.
You may be surprised when I tell you that hoarseness may be a good thing because it's
your body's way of letting you know that something is not right.
If you pay attention to this early warning sign and act accordingly, you can prevent
further damage to your vocal folds.
First, let's look at what happens to your vocal folds when you get hoarse.
When the structure of the vocal folds changes, they cannot function properly.
When the vocal folds become swollen,
fluid builds up just underneath the superficial layer of the vocal folds, which causes their
thickening.
This fluid build-up is a protective mechanism.
A cushion of liquid protects the vocal folds from further damage but the vocal folds can
protect themselves only to a certain degree.
So, what are the causes of hoarseness or vocal fold swelling?
There are many reasons why a person can sound hoarse.
First, let's cover causes that have nothing to do with voice use, like speaking or singing.
Cause #1: Infection The most common cause of hoarseness is acute
or chronic infection, like common cold or flu.
Your throat, including your vocal folds may get inflamed and your voice gets compromised.
The vocal folds become pink, red, irritated and swollen.
Sound production may be difficult or painful, the voice is hoarse, croaky or breathy, or
a complete loss of voice may occur.
In this case, take a break, hydrate well and treat the infection as directed by your doctor.
Your voice should return to its normal within two weeks.
Cause #2: Allergies Another cause of hoarseness not related to
voice use are allergies.
Are you allergic to dust, pollen, animals or mildew?
Or maybe you are allergic to certain foods?
Your body may be protecting you by vocal fold swelling and making you sound hoarse.
Also, some medication used to treat allergies may have adverse effects on your voice.
In case of allergies, consult your doctor or a specialist, allergologist.
Cause #3: Cigarette Smoke It is well documented in many scientific studies
that smoking causes changes in the structure of your vocal folds, including thickening
and cancer.
So, think twice before you light another cigarette.
Cause #4: Acid Reflux Acid reflux is a common cause of hoarseness
in singers because singers are prone to acid reflux.
The problem is that some symptoms of acid reflux are not readily recognized and can
cause harm to vocal folds silently.
Singers who suffer from acid reflux may wake up with a hoarse voice and need a considerable
time to sound "normally" again.
If you suspect acid reflux, visit a specialist, such as gastroenterologist.
Cause #5: Chronic Conditions Less common causes of hoarseness are related
to chronic conditions and neurological disorders, such as hormonal disorders, arthritis, stroke,
asthma or Parkinson's disease.
In these cases, answers may be harder to find and will require cooperation of several specialists
to find the best possible solution for you.
Now, let's talk about causes of hoarseness that are related to vocal use, either during
speaking or singing.
Phonotrauma is a term that covers vocal misuse, abuse and overuse and often results in hoarseness
or vocal nodules.
Let's look at these causes in more detail.
Cause #6: Vocal Misuse When you sing or speak with faulty vocal technique
you may cause vocal fold swelling and hoarseness.
For example, if you push your voice to increase loudness, if you don't know how to breathe
properly when singing, or if you engage muscles that are normally not engaged in singing,
you are straining your voice beyond what it can handle.
The solution is obvious: develop healthy vocal habits.
If you get hoarse after or during singing, your body is telling you that you are not
using your vocal instrument in a healthy way.
Take this warning sign seriously and change your technique.
Also, check out my other video about reasons of vocal strain in singing.
Cause #7 Vocal Abuse Vocal abuse involves high impact behaviours,
such as yelling and screaming, excessive coughing or throat clearing.
It is easy to eliminate these abusive behaviours once you know what they are.
However, sometimes, singers don't even know that they are abusing their voices.
Therefore, I prepared a free checklist of such abusive behaviours to help you identify
them so that you can start eliminate them from your life.
Cause #8 Vocal Overuse And finally, vocal overuse happens when vocal
folds work more than they are conditioned to.
Singers who use their voices often and with great demands are prone to vocal fold swelling.
These singers need to deliberately plan voice breaks and vocal rests during their busy schedules
so that the vocal folds have time to recover properly.
Also, it is important to build vocal and body endurance with regular practice.
Whatever the reason for your hoarseness is, it is important to listen to the warning signs
of your body.
Become aware of hoarseness so that you can prevent further and more serious damage to
the vocal folds.
Then, decrease the stress put on vocal folds and develop good vocal habits.
This may include vocal rest, or reduced voice use, proper vocal and breathing technique
when singing.
In healthy people, 12 to 24 hours is usually enough for the liquid build up to be absorbed,
for the swelling to go away completely and for the voice to return to its normal quality.
However, if we continue putting stress on the vocal folds that are already swollen,
more severe vocal problems can develop, such as vocal nodules.
Decreasing vocal use is very important.
When your vocal folds are irritated and swollen, they are more susceptible to injury.
If you overuse them at this stage, they may take longer to heal completely.
And of course, don't forget to hydrate well.
Hydration is the most basic vocal care habit for singers on any day, so this rule applies
even more when it comes to a hoarse voice.
If your symptoms last longer than 2 weeks, if you suffer from recurring hoarseness, or
if your voice is chronically hoarse, it is time to talk to a voice specialist.
If you think you have a problem, don't delay.
Find help promptly before more damage is done.
I hope you found this video useful.
Give me thumbs up and share it with you friends.

That's all for now.
See you in my next video.

Thoughts about the Alexa Skills for Delaware County District Library - Duration: 2:43.
One of the things that we like to do is
to be pioneers in the field. We like to
be doing things first or before a lot of
other libraries do it. So, that was kind
of the initial nudge, but, what really got
us interested in this was we saw this as
a way of making it easier for people to
use the library, to take some of the
friction out of using the library and to
put the library right into people's
regular daily workflows. If they were
used to using Alexa to get the news or
the weather or other events that are
happening around town, it made sense for
the library to be there too.
The Alexa Skills allow people to find out what's
going on in the library without having
to find the newsletter that they might
have stuck on the refrigerator, or that
they might have just kept on an online
file. This is a way of finding out what's
happening today tonight tomorrow, to find
out quickly what's happening in the
library. People are using this to
discover what's happening with for
example our Summer Reading Club or the
various other programs we do for kids
and adults throughout the week; and by
keeping it up to date we actually can
stay ahead of the paper newsletter and
people can find out what's actually
happening in real time.
Well I think that it's really important for us to be
involved in new ideas. We have to reach
people where they are, not where they
used to be, not the way they used to do
things, and as people start to work with
these voice-activated systems we need to
be there as well. In the days when people
read paper, paperwork fine. When people
used websites a lot, that was fine. Now we
know, we have to do it in a multitude of
ways and being part of the Alexa Skill
package means that we are able to reach
people who just want to talk to their
computers and find out what's going on.
I think this is a really important step
forward, and I think probably lots of
libraries are going to be doing this
over the next few years.
I have to say this has been one of the best
experiences I've had with any library
vendor, ever! Avneet approached us with
the idea of doing this and then right
from the beginning it was a
collaborative venture. I felt like we
were really working hand in hand with
Pellucent in order to make this work.
Avneet never told us we had a dumb idea
even when we did. He was very helpful in
helping us
understand what the possibilities are
and he's been wonderful to work with in
terms of being responsive to what we
needed done. Also, he gets things done on
time and you can't say enough about
people who do that in this field. So, it's
really appreciating.
When the first skills came up we were so thrilled to
see that the library was part of this
and it has been a pleasant and
productive experience ever since.

Estate Planning Tips for Business Owners | No Dumb Questions with Nancy Graham - Duration: 4:48.
Hey, business owners!
How's your estate planning coming along?
If you're like most of us, you may agree with Woody Allen, when he once said,
"I don't want to achieve immortality through my work; I want to achieve immortality through
not dying."
That's a great plan if you can pull it off.
But you may want to go ahead and put some actual estate plans in place too … just
in case.
In my last "No Dumb Questions," I talked about the basics on that.
As a business owner, you've got some "bonus" planning to do too … so today's video
is for you.
I'll cover a few of the additional actions you can take over on the business side, to
come as close as you can to leaving a lasting legacy at home and at work.
One point there's no need to labour over: Sign up for future "No Dumb Questions,"
and you can enjoy timeless tips on all kinds of frequently asked financial questions.
As I covered in my last video, estate planning can be tricky enough for anyone.
If you're also a business owner, the stakes are even higher.
You basically have two heartfelt interests to tend to as you make your plans: your loved
ones at home, and your labour of love at work.
How do you harmonize your professional interests with your personal wealth?
That's an excellent "No Dumb Question" that' I'll cover today.
As I covered in my last video, almost everyone's personal estate starts with three simple documents:
(1) your will – to settle your estate after you pass away; (2) your power of attorney
for health care – which may include a living will; and (3) appropriate powers of attorney
for property to cover management of your assets for your benefit during your lifetime.
For your business, a couple more essential documents can ensure those affairs are also
settled the way you would prefer, rather than lumping your business assets in with all other
assets.
For starters, you've probably got very different ideas about how you'd like to 'pass the
torch' on your business's operations, compared to stuff like your bank accounts,
personal effects and family treasures.
The first important tool here is your buy-sell agreement.
Whether you're a sole proprietor, a family business or in a partnership of unrelated
individuals, this key piece can allow for business stakeholders to retain or assume
control of the business itself, while also letting you pass on the value of your own
stake to your personal beneficiaries.
For example, without a buy-sell agreement in place to say otherwise, your business shares
might automatically pass to your spouse.
He or she would then need to decide whether to keep them or sell them.
If they sell, it could be to anyone they please.
In many scenarios, this could turn into the opening shot at OK Corral.
If there are other partners, they could end up with your spouse as a partner, or some
other new partner they had little or no say in.
Or, remember, the same could happen to you if one of your partners predeceases you and
arrangements have not been made.
If some, but not all of your children are involved in the business, imagine the family
feud that could ensue from that.
Even if you and your spouse are co-owners or you are a sole proprietor, using a buy-sell
agreement to preplan your business succession plans can make for far less stressful outcomes
for all concerned.
For example, a buy-sell agreement can allow for partners to buy one another out, instead
of having each partner's shares pass to their spouse.
This can ensure your spouse receives the worth of your shares, while your partners continue
on with the business.
Or maybe a key employee has the opportunity to buy an ownership interest.
Or one of your family members is specifically designated to step into the role.
And, by the way, as I touched on in my recent "No Dumb Question" about life insurance,
a cost-effective permanent insurance policy can be combined with your buy-sell agreement,
so both the method and the means are available to implement and fund your intent.
Thoughtful powers of attorney – or POAs – are another important part of a business
owner's best-laid plans.
Beyond the POAs I covered last time for covering your personal interests and effects, you can
establish POAs for your business interests.
These POAs may well differ from those charged with managing your personal affairs.
Naming someone with the business savvy to represent your interests can be key to protecting
value.
As you can imagine, there's a lot I haven't covered here today.
When setting up your business-related succession plans, I suggest working with experienced
legal counsel – someone who's "been there, done that," and knows how to make
sure all the critical details are present and accounted for.
One more important detail not to be missed?
That would be signing up to receive future "No Dumb Questions" by clicking here or
following me on LinkedIn.
My continuity plan is to continue answering these and other questions about your financial
well-being.
I'm Nancy Graham, and this is No Dumb Questions.

Status Transportation Supervisor Reveals Key Points For Dispatchers - Duration: 2:20.
Hello my name is Mykel, most people call Mike for short.
I double check to make sure that all my guys are following all the procedures that we need
to do.
I make sure that our owner-operators, our drivers are taken care of so that they don't
end up with loads that are just about impossible to do.
I make sure that they stay legal while they're driving.
Also, I make sure that all of our drivers have the best possible load on their backs
so that they can be profitable and they're experiencing here at Status Transportation
is a pleasant and successful one.
For most of my guys what is most important for them is the wait.
They ask about the wait a lot.
For example, the the areas, if we have to go to Atlanta.
Obviously there's a lot of traffic in there so would would want you to allow a little
bit more time just to get through that big heavy traffic of Atlanta.
Also, we want to make sure that you don't get a load that picks up at 5 o'clock p.m.
and then it has to deliver 6 a.m. in the morning because that's nearly impossible, you know,
depending on the miles.
You would have to drive overnight and you won't have hours the next day to work .
That's one of the things that I have to look after for, my guys, my fleet, plus also my
dispatcher's so they don't end up getting caught up in a situation like that where it's
going to end up in a bad situation for them and for the driver.
