Hey guys today we've come to Brilliant Star decorations

Japanese fashion. But this time it's not just Japanese fashion!

It is also Lolita fashion from around the world.

This time we are gonna go and ask the stylish guests

but also the brands,

What in their definition is actually "kawaii" (cute)

So let's go and ask Japanese... and international people.

What is kawaii in your opinion?

All things that you think are cute are actually kawaii.

For example?

I like clothes, I like Lolita fashion, I like makeup...

I also like cute stationary and such.

I like little things like this bracelet and rings...

So everything you think is cute, is kawaii.

No matter what others say, these things are definitely kawaii.

No matter what they say it's cute!

Of course.

All things that make my heart flutter, I exclaim in the word "kawaii".

What other people might perceive as "cool"

I might see as kawaii.

And that's why I will still exclaim them as "kawaii"

Some people think that butterflies are a cool pattern to wear.

But I will sum that all up in the word "kawaii".

All things that move my heart are kawaii to me.

Lolita fashion is a part of Japanese culture.

So going to events and places like these on Lolita tea parties...

it de-stresses me.

Things like this fashion, that make my life more fun, are kawaii.

I guess. Not sure if that makes sense in Japanese.

So kawaii things, make you feel at ease? - Yes that's it.

What relaxes you the most?

Wearing this fashion or meeting friends in it?

Just looking at the fashion makes me feel relaxed and at ease.

- Just looking is enough? - I like wearing it too of course.

But just seeing the clothes in my room and...

seeing the fashion at events like these makes me feel happy.

Things I think are kawaii, and places where kawaii people assemble like this event

Also wearing this fashion, and seeing others wear it...

It gives me lots of positive energy. That's it.

Kawaii things make me excitable.

What else is kawaii apart from fashion?

Cats!

I love Sanrio! So I love characters like Hello Kitty and My Melody.

Things that express kawaii like hearts and plushies.

I really like things like that and they are kawaii.

The lace and frill on Tripple Fortune dresses are super kawaii.

Cute girly things. - That's right.

Is there anything that stays kawaii no matter how old you get?

Or things you want to develop in a certain way.

Is there an age on kawaii clothes?

I don't think so.

I think kids in their teens and 20s have kawaii things they can express in that age.

And once you get older, you wear kawaii things that have an elegance to them.

I think it evolves.

Kawaii doesn't have an age limit to it.

Around me many older people who like kawaii things no matter of their age and express it.

Kawaii things don't have strict boarders and can be enjoyed at any age.

Bears are cute

It's cute that the corners of its mouth are going up like this.

we should all do the same and smile more to become more kawaii.

Are all plushies kawaii to you`?

Teddy bears are the most kawaii.

I actually make dolls, so I think dolls are the most kawaii things in the world.

What's cute about dolls?

I like the fact that they look alive even though they are not.

I just realized she has the same eye color as you and your clothes is similar too.

Yes it is. It's a bit rugged by now.

I will happy and excited.

I usually carry my doll around with me. Then people will come and talk with me.

That makes me very happy.

People who also like birds, will come to talk with me about them.

They will ask me if I keep birds and maybe even become my friends.

So I become friends with people who also like birds.

It seems like, if you carry your favourite things with you, you make new friends.

There are also some people who want to take pictures together.

It makes me very grateful.

Hello, I'm from Hong Kong.

I think it is to live in a style of what we want to be,

and to have freedom to choose what we like to wear.

In my opinion, kawaii is a type....

a type of experience that,

you can choose whatever you want to be.

For example, if you want to be a doll, then you can choose that.

If you want to be a robot, then you can choose a robot.

Just to make an example, you are very kawaii.

Kawaii, many people describe it as something cute that comes from Japan.

That's why the exact same word. Kawaii has actually made its way into

dictionaries before as well, which I find quite interesting.

So, it is usually used to describe something cute

that comes from Japan.

Also, what I think, in my opinion, kawaii is something that makes

your heart beat faster, that makes you happy, and I love seeing people

who look at something that is cute.

And to see their eyes sparkle, to see how they're happy at that

and I think that's a cute moment to just experience someone

who experiences that joy of seeing something cute, that I really like.

and it was just flaking so bad right here

i was like this shit gotta go

so i co washed my hair using aussie moist conditioner. i think every natural has used it or does use it

i know i use it cause its cheap as hell!

and i aint got no coin for that deva curl!

so im going to be using the shea moisture. i think thats another go to

so i going to be using the curl enhancing smoothie and the black Jamaican castor oil leave in conditioner

i have some olaplex in a spray bottle that i use on my hair because i did bleach my hair.

i think today im gonna do ginger coils because that always makes my hair last so much longer.

and also more definition

and now im gonna do my edges

i have my eco styler gel, and i was just complaining about it

but you now im tryna look cute!

know who and he used the alias David Dennison so that's how I'm one referred

to him now you know is this gonna change anything do people care what we what

where are we I think the woods at least we could impeach David Dennison it's

been reported that Trump was very very upset with Sarah Sanders confirming the

fact that an alteration happened and that this NDA does exist I think people

are starting to care more about this because stormy Daniels has become

somewhat of a character somewhat of a personality and I think people are

following the story and let's face it if she got the 130 thousand dollars and

she's allowed to talk does that mean that you know illegal campaign finance

laws are gonna be or rather campaign finance laws are gonna be brought into

this was this an illegal trend that he was involved in hush-hush and that he

was involved in it I think people are starting to Sarah can I just say one

thing about her that girl is an amateur liar her boss was a professional and

she cash is not a good life liar so here I could like out of the mouths

of babes comes the truth do you know it was like almost like painful to watch

that but it also is just sort of painful to even talk about it yeah I feel like

the ick factor and you say people are starting to care and I wonder though

because it is just when my son is having his breakfast in the morning and we're

hearing the president and the porn star be seen it just makes me feel icky and I

feel like as a journalist to having to wallow in the mud and this tabloid story

it's just so uncomfortable so I get it I get better my mud I got to gross you out

if you read the the the legal documents they alleged that there are some emails

perhaps some images that they still have you know I think people will start to

care when they see perhaps images come out gonna be a real interesting place

for me like you know what it's been a great purchase sure on this row but

still images and return us yes but no heat is a smoking gun of some soy Adam

Schiff I was telling you the makeup room Adam Schiff who was here last week I

said are we gonna get this guy and he said remember it took the tapes to get

Nixon and it took a blue dress to get called Clinton so it's not that easy to

get but men have to do it within the law have to do it within the law your sweat

that's good the final thing I will say though is that any chance of Republicans

and conservatives right now putting anything out policy wise that in any

other administration would take the attention away from these type of

scandals these scandals are just getting worse and worse and is who said even

though we're talking about the hypothetical idea that there are images

out there this is getting worse and worse and they have to start controlling

some of this which they do have the power and the question also then becomes

so now this storm is in the midst of the storm

yeah what's next is she on Dancing with the Stars that she become a

correspondent on ABC or CNN I mean where does where do you see Hey

well that's the thing that's so upsetting I think about this because at

the end of the day it does give a lot of air to her and she is going to probably

milk this she's probably going to get a book deal she's probably gonna start you

know hitting the talk show circuits she's I mean who does that sound like

maybe she'll be on Big Brother

she'd be vilified though I mean I or made fun of I mean yes you know she was

a working woman she she was a porn star had this liaison with with Donald Trump

I mean III think that people should care that the President of the United States

during the campaign allegedly paid hush money right before his election right

and he had this affair with this woman when his wife had just had their child

where are the evangelicals where are the people of faith where the people

it's fascinating as we talked about yesterday it's the I'm not a

psychologist but I think there will be years and years and years of political

history being written about what exactly has happened with the religious right in

this country in regards to this particular president but it doesn't

matter anymore and as we said anymore it just doesn't

matter I'm standing by the fact that you can go as long as you're you know

tribally in the right place it really doesn't matter which porn star you may

or may not attract thank you god bless you and God bless america

Military hit for 'change of tune' on frigate row

Gary Alejano had called out the country's military and defense officials for quickly changing their preference for the combat management system (CMS) to be installed in the two frigates that Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) was building for the Philippine Navy for P15.7 billion.

Alejano issued the statement on Wednesday night, hours after Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Rear Admiral Robert Empedrad, the Navy's flag officer-in-command, defended the selection of Naval Shield Integrated CMS over the widely adopted Tacticos of the Dutch firm, Thales Group.

Naval Shield is supplied by Hanwha Systems and used only by the South Korean Navy.

The opposition lawmaker noted that Lorenzana and Empedrad told the Senate in a Feb. 19 hearing that Tacticos is the best CMS in the market. The CMS is the "brains" of a warship.

But in Wednesday's House national defense committee hearing, Empedrad said Naval Shield met the specifications set by the technical working group, and that it was "inaccurate to state that an inferior system will be placed in the frigate.

Alejano said: "It seemed the winds have changed. Secretary Lorenzana and Rear Admiral Empedrad are now doing an apple-to-apple comparison of Thales' Tacticos and Hanwha's Naval Shield as if the two are of equal competence, when in fact [they are] not.".

He said Empedrad's premise was "erroneous" because Naval Shield is currently incompatible with Tactical Data Link 16 (TDL), a military data exchange network.

Unlike Tacticos, Naval Shield's compatibility with TDL 16 is still "under development" and, according to Hanwha, would be available only in 2019, he added.

"If indeed this is the case, why was there still a discussion during the Senate hearing on the possibility of Hanwha not being able to comply with the TDL 16 compatibility requirement? This contradicts their claim that Hanwha's Naval Shield is, at present, incompatible with TDL 16," Alejano said.

The supposed inconsistency in the statements aired in the House and Senate hearings "only further casts doubts whether what is beneficial and best for the Philippine Navy is truly being pursued by the authorities involved," he said.

Hyundai selected Naval Shield for the frigates after the contractor was given the "sole right" to select the vessels' systems.

Military officials argued on Wednesday that the procurement law did not allow them to name specific brands, such as Tacticos, and that the government could not directly deal with the subcontractors of the warships' systems.

The frigate acquisition project became controversial after Lorenzana sacked former Navy chief, Vice Admiral Ronald Joseph Mercado, after the latter questioned the process by which HHI, not the Navy, was given the right to choose the CMS.

15 privilege speech, Alejano also assailed the grant to Hyundai of the "sole right" to select the CMS. "It would have been good if [the contract's 'sole right' provision] was in the Navy's favor.

Getting ready to cut our tenons.

More trying to stay on this side of the line.... the waste side of the line

The tenon's probably gonna come out to big. But that's okay because...

I can trim it down with your chisel to get it to a snug fit

It's better to cut too little right now

Then to cut too much and not be able to do nothing about it.

Let's get busy.

First.... I gotta figure how I'm gonna

get this clamped so I can cut it.

All right got it started

Get the ripping saw.

And I'll do the other side just like that

You know what I didn't think about when I mark these two by fours as opposed to the two by sixes. I didn't have to plain

These two by fours because they were already pretty straight

So when I marked the Tenon's...

instead of

9/32 I should put

Three-eighths on it

So my tenon on that one is going to be too, wide which

Again better, it be too big than too small.

Because I can take care of the too big. I can't do nothing when I cut away too much, so I'll

remark the other

The rest of the Tenon's on the two by fours and cut them right

At 3/8 and that should square things away. oops

The two by sixes should be all right though.

I'm a redneck what you expect? You know?

Anyway the next part of this will be cutting the shoulders.

And... like I said.....

Too wide.

But it's just a hair won't be too hard to...

trim that down with a chisel.

But on these other two... the rest of them...

I'm gonna go ahead and mark them to proper length.

What happened was...

On these one by sixes I had to plane them to get to twist out.

Which thinned the board which made me have to change...

That from 3/8 to nine thirty seconds on these.

When I marked the two by fours

I didn't have to plane this to get any twist out or anything

so I should have gone back to mark these two three the original 3/8.

I didn't I forgot about that so we're gonna do that.

After I answer my ding.

All righty, then I have marked this

This was that one that was a little extra wide. I marked it...

compared it to the hole and marked it so I had a general idea of where to go with it

Now I'm gonna trim some of this...

stuff off.

I'm gettin there.

And thus far.... that is where we are!

Not quite... there yet.

Okay! Oww!

It's glue up time!

We need an uhhh....

Because I had to...

kind of custom fit each mortise because I'm doing this my hand;

probably have to do it even if you weren't doing it by hand. But I

numbered each...

mortise and tenon so I know which goes where.

So without further ado we gonna glue up some of this stuff. ummm hmmmm...

And there we go

Not the tightest in the world, but not too bad for pine.

Have a few little gaps there, but it'll get the job done.

I got...

One more of these to do, I'm not gonna make you go through another one of these

So we're gonna end this here.

I'm all let this glue dry while I work on cutting the pieces for the other ones and I'll be back...

Women around the world rally for change on International Women's Day - Duration: 2:12.

Women's Day.

Millions of women across the globe have gathered to protest, strike and celebrate the occasion

on Thursday.

This year's International Women's Day is gaining more attention following the emergence of

the MeToo and TimesUp movements.

Aram… it has been a tumultuous year for campaigns against sexual harassment and gender

equality…

Give us a run down on the events happening worldwide….

Well Mark… let's start with Spain as it appears the biggest movement is happening

there.

Female workers across the country have launched an unprecedented 24-hour strike to protest

against gender inequality and sexual discrimination, especially in the workplace.

Hundreds of thousands of women have taken to the streets in dozens of cities across

Spain.

"We have to fight to make our situation known, as much in the social sphere, as in the workplace,

in the home.

Therefore what we are doing today is stopping work to show that if women stop, the world

stops."

Organizers say more than five million women are taking part in the strike and are stopping

work and putting off household chores.

In Russia, International Women's Day is a public holiday and women took the day off

to take part in demonstrations, though on a much smaller scale compared to Spain.

To mark the occasion, President Putin recited a Soviet-era poem to praise women's contribution

to society.

Over in Asia, activists in Manila staged a rally against Philippine President Rodrigo

Duterte, who they claim is among the worst violators of women's rights in Asia.

Other events marking International Women's Day are also being held in dozens of other

nations.

Meanwhile, businesses are also taking part in the action.

McDonald's is temporarily flipping its iconic M-shaped golden arches on certain packaging

to show a 'W' to celebrate women.

But the move quickly faced backlash as critics suggested the fast-food giant should pay its

workers a living wage rather than stage what they called a cheap PR stunt.
