Lineage OS 15.1 for Mi A1! - Duration: 4:46.

Gotta say, it's been worth the wait.

Here's probably the first Android 8.1 custom ROM for the MiA1, this is the unofficial Lineage

OS 15.1, and it's just spectacular.

Starting off with the UI, I'm mind blown.

This is super smooth, and just flies, let's just say, as smooth as the stock ROM.

The launcher has been cleaned up, and it's great to see this almost pixel-like app drawer,

coming from the rather ugly A-Z categorized drawer in Lineage OS 14.1.

The Lineage team have also worked on the icons quite a bit, and I genuinely find these refreshing.

This ROM retains all the Oreo goodness, including this transparent notification panel,

based on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo.

Overall, Lineage OS 15.1 does seem like a refreshing upgrade from its previous version

in terms of the design elements.

But surprisingly enough, the camera app is still the same as that of the previous lineage

version, and that's a huge bummer.

However, we do expect to see a newer version of the app when the official build of the

ROM rolls out.

But coming back to this old camera app, it's the usual ugly UI that we've all come to

know as the weak point of Lineage OS.

There were reports of video recording not working, but that isn't the case for me,

even though the quality is pure trash.

Apart from that, there's the lineage specific apps like Audio FX, music and recorder, which

are pretty decent, but I hardly find myself using them.

Now, let's talk about the performance, and here's where things get slightly disappointing.

I've been using the ROM for only a day or so, but in this time period, I've downloaded

a lot of apps and played some high graphics games, and the results are disappointing.

There's a lotta frame drops, making the gaming experience kinda poor.

When it comes to opening simple applications, switching between different apps, multitasking,

etc., the ROM does a pretty good job.

But again, I've been using the ROM for just around a day, so I haven't really tested

it out properly.

When it comes to battery life, again, it's surely not enough time to test it out thoroughly,

but for the time I've been using it, it does seem promising.

Either way, I'll update you about the performance and battery life in the comments section in

a few more days.

Audio quality is great, volume from both the speakers and the headphones are super loud

and clear, so yeah, no issues here.

Alright with that outta the way, let's take a quick dive into the features.

Opening the launcher settings, you can edit the grid size and icon pack, and there's

also other minor tweaks including oreo specific customization like icon shape and notification

dots.

Opening the display settings, there's an option for LiveDisplay but that doesn't

seem to work for now.

Then there's an option for choosing a style, and gotta say this is the feature I've been

wanting since I feast my eyes on Oxygen OS customizations.

So, you can choose between a light or dark theme, but I'd stick with light since the

dark theme greys out the settings app instead of giving a dark AMOLED black theme.

You can also choose between different accent colors which is pretty sweet, but I really

do wish it also impacted the stock launcher itself.

Finally, there's this Automagic option that tunes the style to match your wallpaper.

Apart from the style, there are other little but useful features included in the display

settings like ambient display and tap to sleep.

Tap to wake doesn't seem to work.

In the system settings, there's some options for button customizations like long pressing

on the power button when the display is off to activate the torch and some status bar

customizations like quick pulldown, adjusting brightness by sliding on status bar, etc.

There's also a gestures tab, but sadly there's no gesture for swiping down on the fingerprint

scanner to open the notification panel, which is a led down, at least for me, as I use it

all the time.

Overall, this is one almost perfect ROM that strikes a balance between stability and features,

something that Lineage has always been known for, and only if it was for the better performance

and enabling a few features, it could very well have been called the best ROM to-date.

But, this is an unofficial ROM, so the cons are justified, or rather, it performs way

better than the expectations I had before flashing it, and when the official build rolls

out in a couple weeks hopefully, the issues might as well be fixed, making it a treat

for all MiA1 users.

Meet Gimmer: An automated trading platform for cryptocurrencies - Duration: 5:20.

Hi, my name is Philipe Comini, I'm the CEO of Gimmer.

So Gimmer is an automated trading platform for cryptocurrencies.

The platform that we are actually building basically enables traders to quickly create

their own trading strategies and appoint and have a bot trade on their behalf.

There's no programming required, no programming skills required, and it's basically accessible

for everybody.

I would have thought that many of the traders who get involved with this would have some

kind of programming knowledge if they're in this field, so who exactly are the customers

you're trying to appeal to?

Retail traders mainly, again they are creating bots, that you know are bots trading on your

behalf 24/7.

Indeed it requires some programming skills, and you have to have a unique skillset.

Are you either a trader or a developer?

To have both those skills combined in one person is quite unique.

So if you're a trader, and you happen to have a bot, where you don't know how to program,

you have to spend time, you have to research, you have to deal with the volatility of the

crypto markets, and you know this happens all the time.

So we are just making this really easy for the retail trader to create a bot and have

it trade on their behalf, pretty much.

Is there anything else like

this around?

Yes, you

mean competitors?

Yes.

There

are a few competitors that have similar propositions.

It boils down to the very end, if you're talking about bots and AI and machine learning, it's

going to boil down to the fact that the solution, the bot that has the highest levels of accuracy.

At the end of the day, is this bot going to make a profit, or make a loss?

And based on different features we have within the platform, we are enabling the bot to get

the information correct.

It will come from different data sources so that will be something called indicators.They

will basically tell the bot what's going to happen on the market, and based on that the

bot will make a decision.

So the better the algorithm is, the higher the accuracy will be.

So we are working really hard to create an intelligent bot that can at some point, outsmart

humans and continue trading 24/7.

So you're going to have the best algorithm?

Yes, well we trust we will.

What stage are you at now?

Well, last year we had an MVP running for about four months.

We had around 800 active users, and they started to ask for more features.

Can I have this, can i have that?

So yes, you want to fulfil the audience needs.

We do have the capacity for that but now we're going through the token sale to raise funds

to continue developing the platform.

So right now, the state of the application is that we have only a demo which does not

allow you to actually trade with real cryptos.

It's just a demo which allows a testing feature.

This basically means you can create a trading strategy, and you can back test that strategy

using historical data for when it changes.

So you can see how your strategy would have performed within a certain period of time.

So that's the current state of the demo.

We are planning to launch the full application that can trade real coins in June, this year.

And then once you've launched that application are there going to be any special features

offered on top of it?

Are you looking at expanding to other offerings?

Yea, well once we launch the full dApp, the features that we have are the actual trading

features.

You will be able to trade on the exchanges.

There will be upcoming features like arbitrage bots, scalper bots, landing bots.

That's all now on our roadmap but to the date that we actually launch the dApp, the features

will actually be just trading.

We will actually give a free bot as well.

The first bot you can get is free, and it gives you one indicator, one safety, and one

pair of coins.

And as you add more pairs of coins, so the bot can understand what you want to trade,

or you may want to add more indicators to increase the level of accuracy of the bot,

then we start charging.

But the first bot is free.

For the trader who is really good and who knows what he is doing, he can actually make

money with a bot that is going to be for free.

So it's quite appealing.
