How Much Food Is There On Earth? - Duration: 2:52.

Hi, this is Emily from MinuteEarth.

Canada's Quebec province produces almost three quarters of the world's maple syrup,

and hoards 50,000 barrels of it in the globe's only strategic maple syrup reserve.

This reserve exists not in case of an apocalypse situation where Canadians have to get by on

maple syrup alone, but because, if one year's harvest is low, rather than having the supply

drop, and prices shoot up, and demand go down, Canada can use the reserves to supplement

the syrup supply and keep prices and demand stable.

Other countries have food reserves too – both for economic and emergency reasons.

But if something crazy were to happen, how long could humanity get by on the food we

have in the planet's cupboards, supermarkets, warehouses, and silos today?

The short answer is, not very long.

Grains like corn, rice and wheat, and tubers like potatoes and cassava make up the lion's

share of our food stores: on their own, they could feed humanity for about 3 months.

Add in everything else – the stored fruits and vegetables, the meat, the milk, the eggs,

the oil, and the sugar, and they'd extend our rations by another four weeks.

And that would be it.

However, there is a lot of potential food out there.

If we picked all the berries and mushrooms in the world, they'd feed humanity for only

another hour or two.

If we hunted all of the world's wild mammals and birds they'd get us by for a few days.

Slaughtering every domestic chicken, sheep, goat and pig on the planet would give us another

month, and butchering every cow would buy us another 2 months.

If we caught all the fish, shrimp, crab and krill in the ocean, they would sustain us

for about 6 months.

And if we could vacuum up all the termites, ants and earthworms in the entire world, they'd

feed us for perhaps another 6 months.

That said, eating all of Earth's animals, plus all of our stored food, probably shouldn't

be plan A. But hypothetically, they could provide enough calories to feed us for around

a year and a half.

And that maple syrup?

Each person would get half a teaspoon, almost enough to sweeten a couple of termites.

So, the premise of this video is admittedly super hypothetical, but we did do a lot of

proper math to come up with our estimates for the global food supply.

Is The Best Selling Laptop on Amazon Worth It? - Duration: 5:22.

- Hey, guys, this is Austin.

A few months ago, we took a look at this,

the $350 Acer Aspire E15, which just so happens

to be the best-selling laptop on Amazon.

But for 350 bucks, what are you actually getting?

Well, at first glance, it doesn't look all that special,

so for $350, you're getting plastic on plastic

with a side of plastic.

Nowhere is this more obvious than the screen,

which flexes, well, a lot

with just a little bit of pressure.

However, if you can look past

a few of these smaller nitpicks,

you'll find that this is actually

a surprisingly solid laptop.

What really makes this guy stand out

is the level of specs and features

that you're getting for the price.

Inside, you're getting a 7th-generation

Intel Core i3-7100U processor,

4 gigabytes of RAM, as well as a one terabyte hard drive.

Definitely the slowest part is going to be the hard drive.

It's 2018, and you know, SSDs are a thing.

However, what really helps to save this laptop

is the Core i3.

This is gonna be a lot more powerful

than pretty much any other laptop in this price point.

Luckily, it's really easy to upgrade this guy.

Remove three screws on the bottom of the laptop.

You get access to not only your hard drive,

but also to your memory as well as to install a full M.2 SSD.

And it just so happens that I have an M.2 SSD right here.

For $45, you can get this ADATA 128 gig drive,

which, once you install on this,

is gonna make a huge difference.

If you've never installed an M.2 drive before,

it's about as easy as it gets.

Remove this single screw from the bottom,

and then all we need to do is line it up with the slot,

make sure it's fully inserted,

and then we take that same screw

and use it to hold it into place.

Now while a 128-gig drive might not sound too impressive,

the idea here is that this is going to be enough

to install Windows as well as a few games and apps,

but you still have your full one terabyte hard drive,

which means that you're gonna have

over a terabyte of capacity inside the laptop,

and if you want to get even crazier,

you can remove the optical drive

to install yet another drive inside.

I said the word drive a lot, but hopefully you get the idea.

Something else I was able to pick up for just over $40

is another four gigabytes of RAM.

Now this is okay as it is, but especially if

you want to get into anything like gaming,

or just want more than four gigs of RAM

for, like, you know, six or seven Chrome tabs,

this is gonna be really helpful,

and again, super simple to upgrade.

You can literally do all this stuff in, like, 10 minutes.

And so, with that, we have eight gigabytes of RAM,

a 128-gig SSD, and an upgraded $440 laptop.

But, is it actually any good?

With these upgrades, we're ready for a bit of gaming,

and starting out, we have CS:GO.

Now with integrated Intel graphics,

you shouldn't expect a ton.

I should really turn my volume down.

So running on low settings at 900p,

we're actually getting solid frame rates,

so we're at anywhere between 50 to 80 frames per second.

Now, it's not going to be a perfect CS:GO experience,

but this is not a bad little gaming laptop.

Next up, we have Fortnite.

Now this is a game that actually scales

pretty well to lower-end hardware.

Here at 720p on low settings,

we are getting between 30 to 40 frames per second.

Now don't get me wrong, this is not a gaming PC.

However, especially with that Core i3

and that dual-channel memory,

it's not going to be too bad

as long as you keep your expectations in check.

Some lighter titles are definitely going to be playable.

I've actually gotta say, I don't really ever play Fortnite,

but this does really scale nicely.

I mean, yeah, we're getting 35, 40 frames per second here,

but on such a low-end laptop, it's not bad at all.

Next up, we have Rocket League,

another game that traditionally runs

pretty well on low-end hardware,

and here at 900p on Performance settings,

we're getting anywhere between 40 to 50 frames per second.

It's not bad, which I know I keep saying,

but when you consider just how cheap this laptop is,

even with the upgrades,

I'm impressed at how much it doesn't suck.

This laptop is definitely useful

for more than just gaming, though.

It's rocking a 15.6-inch 1080p panel.

Now it is going to be TN, so you're going to be sacrificing

some color and especially some viewing angles,

but when you consider that this guy cost $350 stock,

the screen is much, much better than you usually get.

I can't tell you how many laptops I've looked at

that cost much more than this with much, much worse screens.

Something you don't exactly see on laptops very often

these days is an optical drive, but this does have it

in addition to a USB 2.0 port, but more importantly,

on this side, we're going to be getting

two more USB 3's, HDMI.

Weirdly enough, there's a VGA port,

but then you get Ethernet as well as a USB Type-C.

The keyboard is classic Acer,

so it's a good thing for the most part.

You're getting a pretty standard layout

with a couple of odd additions,

but you do get the number row,

and for $350, it's pretty impressive

that it actually does have a backlight.

It's not a super-bright backlight, but again,

that's not something you usually find on a budget laptop.

You're also going to be getting

a Windows precision trackpad.

Now, it's pretty solid.

You're getting full support for the multi-touch gestures,

and thankfully, like all of these precision trackpads,

it does actually track much, much more accurately

than a lot of the third-party options.

It's almost like there's a lot of things in this laptop

that are shared with much more expensive options.

I sense a trend here.

Battery life is going to be pretty solid,

so especially thanks to that Core i3 inside,

you should expect somewhere in the neighborhood

of about eight hours of light use on a charge,

and if you upgrade with an SSD and install Windows on it,

that's probably going to make things even better.

So, for $350, is the Acer Aspire E15 worth it?

I've gotta say, it totally is.

I see why everyone on Amazon is buying these.

Now I will say, though, that if you do pick one up,

I think it is well worth it to spend

a little bit of extra money to upgrade

with an SSD and more memory.

But regardless, if you're wanting to pick up a cheap laptop,

this is a solid option, and as always,

links to this as well as the upgrades I used for it

will be in the description.

Anyway, guys, thank you so much for watching,

and I will catch you in the next one.

WATCH: Prince William and Prince Harry's deleted Star Wars cameo is here! - Duration: 3:33.

WATCH: Prince William and Prince Harry's deleted Star Wars cameo is here!

WATCH: Prince William and Prince Harrys deleted Star Wars cameo is here! See Prince William and Harry join the First Order in this Star Wars deleted scene.

Royal fans were delighted when it was revealed thatand filmed cameo appearances as Stormtroopers in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

However, the scene, which also featured Tom Hardy, wound up on the cutting floor.

The scene has now been released as a deleted scene in the DVD and Blu-ray version of the film, in which John Boyegas character Finn is recognised during an elevator ride by a Stormtrooper (played by Tom) as he infiltrates the enemy spaceship. William and Harry are completely unrecognisable in the scene, dressed in full Stormtrooper costumes, including white helmets.

According to reports, their scene was ultimately cut from the film because Prince William wasnt the right height for the role.

A source previously told the Mail on Sunday: Stormtroopers have to be exactly 5ft 11in.

At the time we shot it I think the feeling was that the scene would make the final movie.

Everyone feels bad that William and Harry lost out on their big moment.

However, the scene just didnt work for the final cut so it was left out. The Star Wars cast previously opened up about the Princes on set, with Benicio del Toro telling RadioTimes.com: They were very nice – Prince William was funny, and Harry as well… I think they were very nice.

I dont know how to explain it, but they were very normal.

Which is very nice.

Tom Hardy was in that little scene [too]..

John also joked about their scene being cut out of the film during an appearance on This Morning, saying: I did personally apologise to them [the Princes] yesterday and said, Sorry you were cut out of the film and Will was like, I probably just need to work more on the skills.

I was like, Maybe, bruv.

A Way Out: trying on hats and fixing a truck is always better in co-op - Duration: 15:55.

hello and welcome to PC world I'm hinting min and I'm here as always with

Adam Patrick Murray hey uh have we found a way out yet no yes we have actually so

this is a way out it is a digital game which is there in the incubator type

thing this is from the guy that made brothers a tale of two sons I played

that and the gimmick here is that it's all co-op we can you play the same

person cannot play okay say why they even give me that option hi so yeah it's

a split-screen co-op game you can also play it online but even if you're online

you still get the split-screen part and yeah we've got Leo and Vincent here

Vincent's more of like a stuck up older guy Leo's like the young hothead

broke out of prison together spoilers but did they know each other before

prison down in prison okay and yeah we're already on the run at

this part of the game okay and hopefully this starts to set the right plays this

time sweet so yeah so you can see we get this little split-screen thing you know

we have a nice little chat about working in a bank it's nice that the subtitles

appear on whoever's actually talking I like the mechanical side of this game

like the split-screen co-op stuff is really cool huh

not great yeah a little cringy yeah we have a little patio right so yeah we're

heading down in this farmhouse where's my gun and you don't have a gun what I

thought bank robbers always had guns let's check I we we did probably when we

were robbing or when I was robbing a bank

oh now we have broken out jail we fled overnight through the woods so yeah you

can kind of get an idea of what a lot of the puzzle stuff I mean I said puzzles

but very loose puzzle context here it's mainly just like to you pulling a board

together yeah or we did that that was a puzzle

the fun part here though is there are also certain sections that you have two

options like normally Leo's options like the loud brandish a gun option okay

instances like that hey let's stealth our way through this so right here we're

gonna choose whether to let the horses out of the barn

so these old people will leave or tie the old people up oh I think that seems

well so how do you how do you decide on to Khan what like both of you guys have

to unanimously yeah you have to unanimously decide and we'll vote here

in seconds so that means like like this the director wants us to argue about

which should take really it's just whoever holds out the longest whoever's

more patient oh because you have to actively yeah these forces trust me

they'll be forced to go get them back so you mentioned the writing what about

the voice work it seems a little flat it's fine yeah it's not great so yeah

you can see this is Vincent's thing over here and we have to we have to agree

before we can hit X so well let's just go the loud way okay let's subdue this

couple tie them up that seems you know that seems rather violent yeah well you

know it's leo let's go and he's got the sideburns hey

let's go real quick are we on max settings here yeah we are because this

it looks a little looks a little weird yeah it looks fine ish I just I I

expected a a little more I've gone in through the

window Oh Oh so at this point we can go different ways and do different things

yeah I think that we have to go a different way

oh you're gonna go subdue one person yeah

and I'm I need to maybe I think you need to go outside and ring the doorbell so

they come towards it maybe okay let's try that Reid doorbell dingdong no I

can't move at this point he's got a shotgun got their attention

I should find a way to ambush them kind of just standing here so oh so you got

the guy with a gun first nope all right okay you did it all right so as each

situation just trying to figure out like how stuff like that were like you went

out and rang the doorbell and I had to sit inside and take them out there's

like some one of the better ones is like you'll you have to break in the laundry

in the prison and so one person is like pushing the laundry cart with the other

person inside of it so like stuff like that is like kind of cool it like plays

with those ideas of like two people having to cooperate with each other

in an interesting way but as I said like as I don't think they're like a lot of a

look and writing is great like I don't think the writing really supports a lot

of it yeah I got a cool hat actually that looks really weird right yeah I'm

playing with this music but what I can't keep it on let's dumb

and I want to put this on nice good looks like the pink Panther's I'm

testing this type of that is the first and last time I am testing class so one

of the other things that we discovered when we watch the credits is I'm pretty

sure that guy just Affairs the director and I was the voice of Leo oh really

yeah good job buddy okay so I so you got to change clothes

in here scratch at some point oh okay so this is just a world building yeah

there's a lot of stuff that you can mess around with in every every room are we

supposed to be like in a rush I don't think we're in as bad as the last time I

did is I did the horse one No and the old people came back when the

horses were partially out and then they called the cops on us and then we had a

crazy shootout but this time we trapped the old people in that that room so I

don't know if everything's is bad okay also we can play a sweet DDR minigame

what if you come over here there's like a piano hold up

nice get on it all right and then I'm gonna do easy

this sounds good if we get high enough I think they start playing together if I

rise I quit

it's a stairway to heaven yeah oh my God look at my Heights

yeah I did the easy oh there yeah yeah we just unlock something yeah you get to

watch the scene of us playing this beautiful music you know you know that

classic combo okay what's the tone of those things supposed to be is it

supposed to be kind of comedic cuz this is kind of portraying itself to be a

little comical here as I said it's like I feel like a lot of the mechanics stuff

is kind of cool but while the writings just all over the place huh mostly good

ones I can tell ya gift anyways you changed yeah you changed your clothes

right let's get out there's a barn over here we're gonna grab this truck come on

very true

hey Vincent get over here I need some help

get over here can't open those doors mom I know right those are big doors oh my

god it's a piece of junk it's not that bad

what do you mean it's not that bad hey it's even missing wheel yeah waiting's

minister there's some spare around here somewhere I don't know man it's not like

we have a choice Vegas at any time maybe the resolutions this week is at any time

the spleen the screen splits and it's having to draw too

yeah okay that makes a little more sense

did you play this on the TV or did you crowd around the mouth okay so yeah you

should come up here and because I got to push you across this this space is nice

you have to hang on that there's like a oh I had to put down the wrench faster

faster hey man I can only go so fast these tiny muscles just hanging on yeah

it was entire over there that you have to grab

all right and you'll just like throw it across the thing cuz your big ol strong

man oh that's not good that's not good there's a good one

yeah one's got a hubcap you can tell did you grab the wrench drop mid-to and I

well I dropped it down oh no no don't put the wrench down and then drop know

what you can't go down the stairs I could I just I wanted to jump that would

be too easy must be something around here we can use to lift a car

somewhere in one of the crates or something yeah a pinch bar so how long

was this game probably five hours okay looks like it kind of did that feel

right or was it to feel along I say like the worst part is the beginning which is

the actual prison break you're like kind of drags for a while huh but yeah once

it starts moving it gets going okay I just really like I I think it's a shame

like a lot of it is cool in terms of like how video games treat co-op now we

just knew in the studs but it's just like I don't know there's not a story

that really supports it also a lot of it breaks down to just like hitting right

trigger and hitting X at the right time you know so so some of them is the

actions are like time yeah what am i doing the battery's dead it's not gonna

work we got to lift the car for ya so we're

gonna lift the car and then we're gonna push it out of this garage fire more

correctly tanks dry

right there's four wheels now now you push it down this mountain even with no

guests yeah there's another shed down here a place for us to charge the

battery how would we knew it well I played it because is this like trial and

error conditions like I mean there are but in some scenes but it's mostly just

like combat trial and error or a combat losses huh

you can you can get shot enough times that you die

are they bullet spongy yeah they take quite a few hits perfect let's pop the

hood to try them all right we got the jumper cables light refreshment battery

just gonna open the hood these jumper cables might refresh the battery just

gonna visit hey do you think this jumper cables microphone I think these jumper

cables all right start the car oh we need gas though gas first yeah oh how

handy how handy yeah so I think like part of this game

part of the problems games it sounds like non-english speakers writing

English dialogue to an extent sometimes it works fine other times it

just does not birth great hey what are you doing hey what are you doing there

buddy oh yeah we played there's a lot of that

going what are you doing here buddy let's hey what are you doing alright

come on Alejo try starting the car now whoa shit nice junk it actually worked

looks like he told you so sometimes you just gotta have old faith gotta have

faith now let's see if the police show up just trust me I guess maybe the old

people could free themselves oh ya know

seeing that sort of a bummer like you would think that if you like chose the

right one it might change the story a lot more but this is the exact same

scene we saw when we did the horse one okay a lot of ways seems like

everything's sort of predetermined like even if you do do it the other way it's

still gonna go down huh yeah cuz I would have been interesting if you just get

away without ever going dude yeah exactly

so yeah that's uh let's leave off there well I mean it's gonna roll straight

into the next scene but that's a way out all right I'm gonna guess $20 because I

know you're gonna ask it's a video game yeah it's really meant for like sit down

you know next to somebody he's really a man for a couch co-op like they put an

online option in there and like I guess you could play it that way but I really

don't think that it would be as enjoyable with you I mean maybe if you

were playing with a friend still but a lot of it a lot of the fun that I had

was playing with my girlfriend and just like making dumb jokes about a lot of

this stuff yeah I don't know if you would get that same thing out of playing

online Jesus turn around yeah I'm just going straight right on the police going

straight at him here we go here we go Dukes of Hazzard yes $20 I think it's

out on the 23rd of March okay and origin obviously because it ca yeah that makes

sense yeah thanks Adam yeah thanks Hayden and

find a way out of here yeah

Lewis Hamilton: 'Nobody is buying it' - Bookies don't believe Mercedes star's shock claims - Duration: 3:14.

Lewis Hamilton: 'Nobody is buying it' - Bookies don't believe Mercedes star's shock claims

takes to the track in Melbourne in this weekend's F1 2018 season opener bidding to win his fifth title. Mercedes are also going in search of their fifth consecutive constructors' championship and hope their W09 car does the business.

But in the lead up to the races getting under way, Hamilton has consistently suggested the likes of Red Bull and Ferrari will pose big threats to Mercedes and says his team are not untouchable.

But OddsMonkey aren't falling for it and have Hamlton and Mercedes both odds-on to retain their crowns in 2018.

"Lewis Hamilton has been trying to calm expectation levels, but nobody is buying it – he is odds-on at 4/6 to land his fifth world title, with Mercedes even shorter to seal a fifth straight Constructors title at 2/5," said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.

"Despite the expected rivalry with Ferrari, who were the only team really pushing Mercedes, it is actually Red Bull who are second in the betting at 7/2 with the Italian's rated at 5/1 in places, which seems a big price considering we have not seen the opening race yet.

"Driver wise Hamilton is just about unbackable, and the Bookmakers and public clearly only see one man threatening his dominance and that is Vettel – who is around 7/2 with next best being Verstappen at 6/1.

"So from what we are hearing and seeing in the markets, Mercedes are attracting all the attention but the public are putting money into Red Bull and Verstappen – but this has inevitably led to the value being with Ferrari and Vettel.

If you fancy the German and his team to push hard, then these prices will not be around for long."           Action from Melbourne gets underway tomorrow with the first two practice sessions.

Final practice and qualifying take place on Saturday before drivers do battle in the race on Sunday.

Selected F1 odds – Drivers Championship: Lewis Hamilton 4/6 Sebastian Vettel 7/2 Max Verstappen 5/1 Valtteri Bottas 10/1 Daniel Ricciardo 12/1 Fernando Alonso 25/1 Constructors Championship: Mercedes 2/5 Red Bull 7/2 Ferrari 5/1 McLaren 33/1 Renault 100/1 Force India 250/1 Williams 500/1 Toro Rosso 1000/1 Haas 1000/1 Sauber 2500/1.

ANDROID NEWS !!! LG V30 is getting Android 8.0 Oreo with March security patch at Sprint - Duration: 1:48.

it appears that Sprint is the second US carrier to provide LGV 30 owners with an

android 8.0 Oreo update after Verizon pushed the update to its LG V30 units

Sprint is reportedly making the same move if you're looking for a

confirmation from the carrier you won't find it since Sprint has yet to publish

the official changelog or update the LG V30 support page however some customers

who received android 8.0 Oreo say the update weighs in at one point seven

gigabytes moreover it includes the March security patch the latest update

released by Google early this month since Sprint has just kicked off the

rollout of the update it might take a few days to pop up on everyone's phone

so keep that in mind LG just like Samsung is trying to bring

as many of its flagships to Android Oreo but the whole process is rather slow and

painful for consumers the good is if you own a top-tier smartphone that's been

released last year you'll eventually get the Android Oreo

update

we will focus in particular on 70mm,

which is the large film format that is still being used

by many, many contemporary filmmakers like

Christopher Nolan for "Dunkirk" or Quentin Tarantino for "The Hateful Eight."

We will have René Wolf as our guest.

René Wolf has been a programmer at EYE Filmmuseum

for more than 20 years.

It will be not only about the acquisition of "Lawrence of Arabia,"

in its latest 70mm restoration, but also more in general

about acquiring large film formats for the archive.

The main reason why I think you should really

experience a 70mm projection is because you can see more.

And this is true in terms of quantity – you see four times

as much visual detail as you can see in a 35mm projection.

This translates really in the richness of the image.

"Lawrence of Arabia" is a perfect example for that.

The magnificent scenes in the desert, with 70mm,

you will see every single grain of sand,

and it's really a unique experience.
