Waching daily Nov 23 2017

Hi I'm Gary Bembridge of Tips For Travellers. I'm going to tell you things that you

absolutely need to know about Avalon Waterways to help you decide if this is

the right river cruise line for you. The first thing you need to know about

Avalon is what do they do the same, and what do they do different. What makes

them unique? So there are about five things that they do that are very

similar. First of all the ships. In terms of their size, they are basically the same as

everybody else. River cruise boats are constrained by how

long, wide and how high they can be by the nature of the rivers that they cruise

on. So their ships are basically the same size and look very similar from the

outside to pretty much all of the other ships that you'll see. So this means of

course, like all river cruise boats, the facilities are relatively limited. So on

the ship you'll find a main lounge, will find a second lounge, you'll have a

dining room, a very small hairdresser, a fitness center and a very large deck on

top. Also very importantly, there's no medical centre or medical facilities on

board. So if you have any medical issues, they have to be dealt with on land.

That's true, of course, across all river cruise boats. The second thing that they

do that are very similar are the rivers and itineraries. There are only so many

rivers where you can go river cruising on, and their routes are very

similar because of course everyone wants to go and see the main and attractions. Whatever

river cruise you want or look at, it's likely that Avalon will have an

itinerary that is the same. They cover all of the main rivers like

the Rhine, the Danube, the Main, the Mossell, the Rhone and

River Seine in France. The third thing they do the same is in terms of

their fares, which are largely all-inclusive - and this is pretty consistent across

river cruising. Your fare will include your accommodation, includes your food so

three meals a day. Also on Avalon you will get afternoon

tea around about four o'clock in the afternoon, and also you will get a late

night snack around about 10:30. Drinks with meal times are included, so at lunch

and dinner you can have soft drinks, beers and wine are included. On board

enrichment activities, so the port talks are included. Wi-Fi is included. There's

also 24-hour coffee and tea and little snacks available as well. Excursions are

included and there's normally at least one excursion included every day. That's

fairly consistent with other river cruise lines. When you go on tours they

use the Vox system like most of the cruisers do, and these are great. They are a

little receiver and you have an earpiece and the guide then transmits on

whatever channel that you all set on. It's great because you can actually

wander away from the guide to go and take pictures but stay in touch and hear

the whole commentary. So you don't have to huddle closely around the guide. The

dress code is also very similar to other river cruise lines. It's pretty casual.

People generally don't dress up although some gentlemen might wear

long sleeve shirt and slacks for dinner, but it's pretty informal. The food on

board is also very good, and has some local spins to it. So again that's also

fairly consistent with most river cruise lines. So those are all the

things that they do similar, so what does Avalon do different? What are

the things that you should consider if you're thinking about Avalon over other

river cruise lines? Well first of all, it's part of Globus. So it's part of a

very big Travel Group. And that's very important because what they do is they

have lots of expertise in most the places they call upon, and also they

have guides which they have personally through Globus used, verified and tested

over time. They do have a lot of expertise in all of the destinations

they go to, and lots of resources they can draw on. This is quite unique to

many of the other river cruise lines which either are very specific river

cruise lines or perhaps are spinoff of ocean river cruise lines. The fact that

they're part of Globus, and all that they can leverage and bring, is very important.

The second thing is what they call the "Signature Suite Ships". The cabins are

bigger than pretty much every other River cruise line, certainly any other

luxury river cruise line. On average they're about 30% bigger. One great thing

is you have beds that point towards the window, because they have room to do that,

and so you can watch the scenery pass by. The other thing that's very important is

they have these massive big windows which stretch from one side of the cabin

to the other side - and bear in mind the cabins are bigger. They can open up

nearly seven feet. Certainly as the time recording this, nobody has windows that

open as big as this. The other thing that I think makes them very different is

they have a lot of special interest cruises. Some of these include things

like wine appreciation, culinary, beer, music and jazz, art and impressionist,

history (with a focus on World War Two history and Hapsburg History), Jewish

Heritage, Christmastime cruises, Golf cruises, cruises focused around specific

authors, garden and nature. Lots of other cruise lines are experimenting with

those, but certainly in my experience and from what I've looked at, is Avalon really

have a lot of special interest cruises - and I think that does make them kind of

interesting. The other thing that makes them very different is that they have

a big focus around a much more active way of sightseeing. They have some

very specific cruises which are "active discovery" cruises and the idea is

there are more hiking, biking and even kayaking excursions. They have bicycles

on board all ships, which you can then use go cycling sightseeing. They also those

Nordic Walking poles. The other thing which they do, which I find very

interesting, is they have a focus on healthy eating. There's an

appreciation that people are much more diet aware. One of the things that

really struck me is they make a big issue around allergies and dietary

requirements. All the menus list in lots of detail the different potential

allergy issues, and they spend a lot of time talking to guests understanding what

their issues are and making sure that they are tailoring the menu or

identifying on the menu what you can't eat. You'll always find healthy eating

options - and these have been developed with a partnership with two Austrian

chefs called Karl and Leo Wrench (part of a very high quality vegetarian

restaurant in Austria). So these are all vegetarian and vegan dishes. The other

thing which I personally really like is, they are very adult focused. So while a lot

of river cruise lines are trying to attract more families and more kids on board,

actually what Avalon do is they are much more adult focused. So you can't bring any

children under the age of 8 on board, and they don't provide kids clubs or they

didn't provide very kids specific itineraries or kids specific programs.

They are more focused on catering for an adult audience. One of the

things that really struck me onboard Avalon is that the sort of average age

and the mix onboard Avalon was more diverse than many other river

cruise lines. I would say the average age is younger than many other river

cruise lines, up to now river cruising is still seen very much as a

slightly older activity. So many cruise lines will have people in their 60s and

70s as the main age group. I would say Avalon, based on my experience,

is younger than that. It's still probably averages around 50 to

late 50s, but much more diverse in terms of age range and much wider age range.

That could well be because of their link to Globus. It is an english-speaking

experience, so people on board are English speaking.

You'll find a lot of Americans, a lot of Canadian,s a lot of Australians,

New Zealanders and a lot of people from the UK. I've spoken about what's very similar,

what they do different and hopefully that's helped you make up your mind if

Avalon Waterways is the right company for you to go on your European river

cruise. I'd love it if you enjoyed the video if you'd "like" the video, but very

importantly subscribe to Tips For Travellers because you'll get much more

about river cruising, much more about travel, lots of travel inspiration, advice

and tips.

1TB Plextor M8PeG SSD - NVME is fast... - Duration: 2:51.

Data storage is one of my favorite IT topics which you can probably tell after seeing my

collection of NAS servers or watching my ultimate backup strategy video.

But in this video I'll be talking about very local file storage and quite fast one I should

add.

Plextor M8PeG is the newest addition to my workstation, and just to make things clear

- this video isn't sponsored at all - the SSD isn't a loaner from the PR company or

a gift from the manufacturer.

Plextor is packed in a rather good-looking box from which you can find out that it might

not fit in a laptop - most probably because of the included heat spreader.

It was my first encounter with the M.2 form factor and I was surprised by how compact

it is...

I was honestly expecting something bigger.

Black heat spreader covers entirely an ugly green PCB populated with 1 TB of Toshiba MLC

memory modules.

Those modules are supplemented with a gigabyte of DRAM all managed by a Marvell controller.

The M8PeG features an M.2 standard connector.

Direct access to the PCI Express bus ensured by the NVMe interface ensures much higher

speeds than those offered by SATA.

In marketing materials, Plextor claims that the read speeds can be as high as 2500 MB/s

and write speeds up to 1400 MB/s.

M8PeG comes with a 5 years warranty which is pretty much standard for high-end storage

solutions.

Installing M.2 ssd is as easy as inserting it into a slot at an angle, pushing it down

and securing it with a screw... but this might not be the end of it.

In case of my motherboard - ASRock Z170 Extreme 4, it was necessary to update the

UEFI to the newest revision to properly recognize the M8PeG.

From there I didn't experience any problems - Windows installed without a single issue.

I'm not a benchmarking expert so I'll only quote results from Crystal Disk and Attu...

and if you crave more stats, you should definitely check out Plextor SSD review over at Annandtech

- those guys know what they're doing.

My testing revealed that the best-case scenario - sequential read speeds are on par with

Plextor's claims.

Write speeds are a bit slower but still quite decent.

I use my computer mostly for video editing, and some occasional gaming... and the improvement

over your typical SATA SSD is noticeable.

Currently M8PeG sells for around $500, which is quite expensive... but still a little cheaper

than Samsung's 960 Evo, at least here in Poland... the price should drop a little once Plextor's

new NVME SSD hits the market...

If you have the money, I think the 1TB Plextor is a worthwhile investment.

I myself am really glad I could finally get rid of the 2,5" SSD that I always had hard

time finding place for in my desk PCs... thanks very much for watching and I'll see you in

the next one...

This Is Your Brain On Thanksgiving Turkey - Duration: 4:41.

This Is Your Brain On Thanksgiving Turkey

Thanksgiving is a holiday of hard truths.

And the centerpiece, turkey, is no exception.

From Seinfeld to The Bernie Mac Show, it's easy to to find depictions of turkey as a food that that will make you pass out due to supposedly high amounts of the chemical tryptophan.

Reader, this is wrong.

As Lisa Sasson, a nutritionist at NYU, tells Newsweek, the idea that people become drowsy or lethargic from the tryptophan in their Thanksgiving turkey is nothing more than a myth.

Keep up with this story and more by subscribing now.

Tryptophan, she says, is "equally present in all animal protein." There is a fair amount of research indicating that tryptophan does in fact make people sleepy.

Turkey does contain tryptophan, an amino acid that, when it makes it into the brain, is broken down into the chemicals melatonin and serotonin, creating a sedative effect. But the levels of tryptophan in turkey, Sasson says, are about the same as chicken or any other animal.

Let's say your family is serving up chicken or duck.

That still wouldn't be the culprit, Sasson says.

Canadian politician Thomas Mulcair carves a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner in 2015.

Any reasonable viewer might think hed just heard he no longer has to worry about it making him sleepy.

Jim Young/Reuters.

In order for the tryptophan to take effect, it needs to get into your brain.

In order to do that, it has to go from your plate to your stomach to the bloodstream and pass through what's called the blood brain barrier.

The blood brain barrier is a kind of bouncer between everything in the rest of your blood supply and the very exclusive nightclub that populates the circulatory system in your brain: only the things that need to get in are allowed to enter.

"The turkey's quite innocent.

The reason most of us are overtired is we overeat," Sasson said.

"Eating is a stressor on the body.".

Snopes also has waded into the turkey grease.

In order for the tryptophan in turkey to truly make someone sleepy, it would have to be consumed with little other protein and very few carbohydrates.

Odds are, if you're at a thanksgiving dinner, neither of these conditions will be met.

So yes, you may feel sleepy after your Thanksgiving meal, but thats probably because youre eating a huge meal, heavy in sides, at a much earlier time than you normally eat.

And if youre really feeling that family stress, you may be drinking a decent amount too.

In that respect, at least, another bite of turkey couldnt hurt. .

How to be Miles Morales. Who is Miles Morales? - Duration: 2:48.

Hey guys CRISTAW here

Let's talk about Miles Morales as we all know Miles Morales is officially in the MCU and that begs the question

Who's gonna play him? And if you're watching this video odds are you want to audition for the role. (As do I)

in

The past Sony has cast 30 year olds to play a teenage spider-man

But in recent history they've casted the much younger actor Tom Holland

And that's because they've actually joined up with people who knows how to make movies(Marvel Studios)

Not only is Tom Holland young but he's also very athletic

I think Marvel would most likely cast someone who is young or someone who looks young.

So that being said if you fall into one of those categories

Congratulations. You are already close to being considered (Unless you're white)(Sorry)

Some people may not know this but Miles Morales is actually mixed. His father is African American

His mother is Puerto Rican. Who knows, maybe they'll want you to be able to speak Puerto Rican Spanish.

Since miles is supposed to be an intelligent nerd maybe they will.

So far we've said that you have to be athletic

Be half Puerto Rican and half black, young, and maybe bilingual

Maybe if you're just black and can speak Spanish, they'll consider you.

We got all of the looks and abilities down, but the most important part is knowing how to act

Now in order to get better at acting you should google your local acting community

It's easy just search acting classes near me. Now whether or not you want to do that you need this next part.

Before I go into that I would like to mention that I have a GoFundMe campaign set up to raise money to improve my channel

Any donation is appreciated. I'll put the link in the description below.

And

Now for the important part Miles Morales or any Spider Man for that matter has an extremely witty sense of humor

He's always cracking jokes while fighting and pretty much roasting his opponent, so that means you have to have perfect

comedic timing

Being that Miles is really smart, you also have to look like you know what you're talking about. (Whatever that means)

Okay, there's one thing you have to do before being considered at all. You have to audition.

Here's how to audition

I'm just kidding. I don't know that part. (Sorry)

Hey everyone( Lol gg noob) remember to leave a like and subscribe to my channel for more content. Have any questions? Put it down in the comments.

Also once again. I'd like to mention that I have that gofundme campaign, and the link is in the description below.

Anyways, thanks for watching this video and have a beautiful day. (I love you fam)

The Government Is Trying To Destroy The Internet - Fight For Net Neutrality - Duration: 2:45.

The FCC is planning to Kill Net Neutrality.

Now I know a lot of people have questions about net neutrality and what it means for

you if it gets taken away.

More on this today on IO.

Hey there I'm charlotte and you're watching Inform Overload.

Before I get into this video, let me know in the comments below what you use the internet

for the most.

The Federal Communications Comission regulates how internet service providers are allowed

to handle traffic.

They said this week that they want to essentially get rid of a very important policy that prevents

internet service providers from being gatekeepers of the internet.

So the FCC won't let me be or let me be me so let me see.

President Obama's administration put in place a regulation that makes sure that internet

service providers offer consumers equal access to online content and services.

What does that mean exactly.

It means, that under net neutrality, you don't have to pay to have access to certain content.

The way things are right now, when you use the internet on your phone, computer or tablet,

you can look at websites or watch videos at the same speed as everyone else.

But if the government gets rid of net neutrality, The internet could become very much like television,

in the way that you have to pay for certain channels outside of your base TV package like

HBO.

The proposal also states that Internet service providers will be allowed to slow down the

internet for certain websites, whenever they want.

ISPs will only be required to provide a baseline level of service, and will then be able to

charge you extra to get to use high quality services, like streaming 4K content.

Which is another way of saying, you're going to have to pay extra to stream your favourite

shows on Netflix, on top of the fees you're already paying for the internet.

Neflix streaming service makes up almost a third of all web traffic, and it sometimes

accounts for close to 50%.

On the flipside of things, The way AT and T looks at it, there is no free lunch.

Netflix has set up a business that uses a lot of bandwith, but it doesn't have to

pay extra.

But now the argument is, that neflix shouldn't have to pay, we, the internet users should

have to pay for that extra bandwidth.

The fcc will vote to repeal net neutrality on Decmber 14th.

The lame thing is, if it gets passed, the rest of the world will be affected as well.

COD Fanatic – I wish IO uploaded on weekends, but I understand they need breaks.

Will you upload tomorrow charlotte Happy thanksgiving to all of our American

friends, Canadians already had their thanks giving a few weeks ago.

Gman – hi charlotte I just wanted to say thank you for the great content.

Aw well you're welcome I really appreciate that.

Taffy powel – for Christmas I want to be a pig potato.

Be careful what you wish for.

The video is over!

Im kinda sad.

If you would like to continue watching io, check out our video don't say this to siri

on your iphone, clickable on the screen right now.

That's it for me and I'll see you in another video.

The Fix Is in: Local Papers Run Coordinated Hit on Moore - Duration: 5:58.

The Fix Is in: Local Papers Run Coordinated Hit on Moore

Remember when the mainstream media reported facts, instead of telling people what to think?.

If several newspapers in Alabama are any indication, those days are long gone.

On Sunday, three of the states largest newspapers featured the exact same bold headline that was clearly meant to sway voters: Reject Roy Moore..

The text also ordered readers to Stand For Decency, which apparently means doing what the media says.

The Press-Register, The Birmingham News and The Huntsville Times all plastered the exact same headline on their weekend editions, according to Breitbart.

All three newspapers are owned by The Alabama Media Group, and the coordinated attack on Moore included a 1,200-word piece that essentially accused anybody who votes for the Republican judge of standing against women and minorities.

They sure do have a flair for subtly. If we vote for Roy Moore, Alabama will also show that we don't care about you if you're gay or Muslim or Catholic.

If you're an atheist or an immigrant. We'll show each other that we only care about Roy Moore's definition of Alabama, the hand-wringing editorial announced.

There are a few takeaways from this coordinated media hit against Moore.

The first — and perhaps most important — is that this is exactly what it looks like when an anti-establishment candidate takes on elites.

It is the exact same strategy that was used during the final months of the Clinton versus Trump election. Pull out all the stops.

Lecture people about what terrible human beings they are if they vote differently from what the establishment demands.

Remember the Hillary ad that sanctimoniously asked voters how theyd be able to explain a Trump vote to their children? Ploys like these border on parody, but the left has gone all-in on holier than thou as an entire strategy.

The second takeaway is that newspapers that once prided themselves on unbiased reporting of facts arent even trying to be balanced anymore.

To be sure, there is a place in journalism for opinion pieces and politically angled stories… after all, the website youre reading right now is called Conservative Tribune.

Theres a reason for that. However, the difference is night and day.

This website and similar outlets are clearly denoted as having unmistakeable political views, backed by facts and sources.

Everything is in the open. Local newspapers, on the other hand, make a pretense, at least, of objectivity.

They certainly pretend to be, but the jig is up. Theyre not.

Front-page headlines are supposed to carry the most breaking, important news of the day.

House Catches Fire is factual reporting. Reject Roy Moore is vote-swaying opinion that borders on propaganda.

Remember, there are very few solid facts regarding the Moore scandal. There are more questions than answers.

The allegations are alarming and may be enough to concern voters, but Alabamans must make up their own minds based on the available information.

Ironically, these types of blatant over-the-top hit pieces are exactly what many Americans are tired of.

News consumers are fed up with being condescended to, and have had enough of being told how to think and how to vote. They rejected the establishment in November.

Whether they do the same during the Alabama special election is very much up in the air, but media outlets need to realize that ordering people around is a losing strategy.

Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if youve had enough of arrogant mainstream media outlets telling people what to think.

What impact to you think this stunt will have on Alabama voters? Scroll down to comment below!.

Emmerdale spoilers: Tom set to murder Debbie as evil plan is exposed? - Duration: 3:56.

Emmerdale spoilers: Tom set to murder Debbie as evil plan is exposed?

The hunky businessman hasnt been part of the Emmerdale cast for very long, but hes already made a move on Debbie Dingle.

In tonights visit to the village, Debbie (Charley Webb) introduced Tom (Ned Porteous) to her kids Sarah and Jack and they got on like a house on fire.

Tom has done a lot for Debbies family, buying her a house and getting her brand new furniture to fill it.

And while the romance is going from strength to strength, not all is as it seems.

As tonights episode ended, Tom spoke to his driver Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) and revealed he has a seemingly evil plan.

"You dont dig a grave and leave it empty" Tom Waterhouse Graham questioned Toms intentions, with Tom shooting back: I havent come this far to turn back now.

You dont dig a grave and leave it empty. Could the flash businessman be talking about a literal or metaphorical grave? And what exactly is his plan? Later this week, little Sarah ends up in an accident when Tom takes her out quad-biking.

It will leave Debbie questioning her feelings for Tom, though will she blame him for Sarahs accident? Next week, viewers will see Charity (Emma Atkins) quizzing Debbie about her romance with Tom as shes unsure of him.

Elsewhere, he organises a lazy day in with Debbie, though Charity is still suspicious.

Tom is shocked to find out Charity has invited him to the villages Christmas lights turn-on.

Debbie thinks hes making excuses to get out of it, making her wonder why hes giving her such mixed signals.

He promises that hes serious about their relationship and finally agrees to meet Debbies mum Charity.

The barmaid is happy to hear that Tom will be going to the switch-on, but Graham doesnt think its a wise move.

The villagers count down to the lights being turned on by Doug, but it might not be such a joyous occasion when Charity tells Debbie theres something she needs to hear in private.

Ironically, before Toms dark reveal in tonights episode, he confessed that his favourite superhero is Batman.

He told Sarah: Hes just an ordinary guy.

He has no superpowers, he just wants to help people. Unfortunately for Debbies little family, it looks like Tom could turn out to be more of a villain than a hero.

Emmerdale continues tomorrow night at 7pm on ITV.
