Gift guide for her- Idee regalo per lei + GIVE AWAY:15 days of Christmas 2017 Day 2 - Duration: 19:34.

>> Hi ya'll and welcome or welcome back to my channel

from Rudolph the reindeer, it's time to wear again my reindeer hoody

but most importantly welcome to the second instalment of my Christmas serie

I thought I'd start straight away with the gift ideas

because it's the end of November and it's about time to start thinking about the gifts

I know it can be a stressfull task so I got you covered

as once again I selected some gift ideas for her and for him

today we'll focus on the gifts for her, but don't worry because on sunday

I'll share some ideas for him too

so stay tuned and watch both videos until the end because

I thought I'd give a gift to you through a little give away

so if you want to find out the prize and how you can enter the give away

watch the video until the end

ok, let's get started, I tried to select different kind of gifts

even if to be honest there are quite a lot of beauty bits

because I love beauty related gifts

anyway I divided the gift ideas per price range

under 20 euro, between 20 and 50 euro and above 50 euro

for those of you who are willing to spend a bit more

so let's start with the gift ideas below 20 euro

I don't have all the gift ideas here with me, so I'll often insert

some pictures here next to me

so that you can have a quick idea

but anyway on my blog you'll find the list of all the products

with links to buy them online

so in case you should want to take advantage of some of my gift ideas

you'll just have to visit my blog and in one click you'll be teleported

to the web site that sells the products

and the link to my blog post is in the downbar

now let's start with my first gift idea below 20 euro

and it's even below 10 euro, 9.61 euro and it's

an advent calendar

surprise surprise

I love advent calendars, I think they are a lovely gift to offer both

on December 1rst as it should be, but even as a Christmas gift

to keep the Christmas spirit on even after December 25th

with a new present everyday for the following days

I'm obsessed with advent calendars if you can't tell

and this is a cute non expensive one

I found it on Asos, I'll grab my notes otherwise I will never remember what's inside

it's by the brand MAD

and inside you get shampoo and conditioner, lip balm, bath salts, hand cream

sponge, nail files, basically a good selection of beauty products, all for the price of 9.61 euro.

Great, now let's move to my second gift idea, we're around 10 euro and on Amazon I found

these cute magnetic bookmarks in the shape of a music tape

for 10 euro you get 3 that you can use as stocking fillers for 3 different people

or gift them all to just one person

I love the idea of a magnetic bookmark that you can clip to the page

and the string makes it easy to find the page again

a simple yet cute idea for 10 euro

let's move on and always around 10/15 euro a smart gift idea are books

I selected 3 which are not going to be a surprise if you watched my past monthly favourites videos

because my favourite author of the moment is Alice Basso

and I think that her trilogy would be a lovely gift

the heroin of these books is Vani Sarca

a talented ghost writer, slightly antisocial, she kind of reminds Lisbeth Salander

but it's kind of hard to fully describe her, but she's a great character

created by Alice Basso, the books are crime novels with a twist

the style of writing is very ironic and fresh

perfect to offer as a gift to the women in your life, you can gift just the first one

or the whole trilogy

and you won't go wrong because at least as far as I'm concerned

as soon as I read the first one I immediately felt the urge to get the other 2

Again in the cathegory under 20 euro I selected

always from Asos, because as it often happens Asos has a great choice

I selected a battery charger in the shape of a unicorn

for the price of 15.53 euro, here it is

The portable battery charger in my opinion is a must have

I think I included it in my gift guide last year too

because when I'm out and about I use my phone a lot to take pictures, send whatsup messages, call, check my social networks,

and the battery dies when I need it the most

so a battery charger is essential especially when it looks like a unicorn

and the last gift idea

under 20 euro

is again from Asos and it's this bendable neon string

that you can use to create words

and decorate your room, I think it's super cute and it costs

if I look down is because I have my note there, otherwise

I wouldn't remember one price

it costs 15.53 just like the battery charger

and it's another cute gift idea

and those were the gift ideas under 20 euro

now let's move to the cathegory between 20 and 50 euro

As you will see this cathegory is mainly focused on beauty products

because I found some cute sets, perfect as gift ideas for her

let's start with the first one

20.71 euro, here it is, I found it on Asos

it's by the brand Pixi

and inside you get, let me check my notes

the glow tonic, an amazing exfoliating tonic

the glow mud cleanser and the glow mud mask

so a skin care trio for 20.71 euro, which is not bad

the next gift idea is different, we move from the beauty world to a project by a friend of mine, Chiara, who I met by chance one year ago

at a market and she told me about this project back then

Chiara designed some super cute characters related to the pastry world

cute floating characters

and she finally managed to make her idea come true and she created a line of fabric accessories

tea towels, pillows ...

and aprons all made with a high quality fabric, her brand is called minibabiescakes

I show you a gift idea

this is a big tea towel, with these bright and fun colors

always pastry themed as it has cute cupcakes at the bottom

I invite you to check her web site www.minibabiescakes.com

where you'll find all the products available

all made thanks to her creativity and vision

and you can buy them online on the store linked to the website

check my blogpost to find the direct link, you'll see there are plenty of products available

and they are lovely gift ideas for your mother, sister, friends

as I said this is the bigger tea towel , but there are many more options

and this fabric feels really nice

ok, let's move on with the cathegory between 20 and 50 euro

The third gift idea are the Dr Jart face masks

Dr Jart is an amazing skin care brand, you can find it in Sephora and

they have on sale a cute set , let me check my notes again

inside you get an hydration lover rubber mask

a bright lover rubber mask and a firm lover rubber mask

3 masks at the cost of 24.90 euro

the rubber masks are usually very good and Dr Jart is a lovely brand in general

so it's the perfect gift for all the skincare enthusiasts

we're almost at the end of the cathegory between 20 and 50 euro

still in the beauty world I have selected this set of crackers

that I found on Asos, the brand is Cowshed

my notes are back

it's a set of 3 crackers containing an hand cream

and hydrating cream, a shower gel, again a hand cream and shower gel

lip balm, basically you get 2 products in each cracker, so it's like

a condensed version of the advent calendar

and I thought it was a cute gift idea

and still talking about advent calendars, I told you there were going to be more

I suggest you this one by L'Occitane, which is a lovely brand

and I have it here with me because I was lucky enough to get it as a birthday gift

as you can see inside you find the 24 windows, as it should be

and opening every window you'll find a L'Occitane product

all amazing and it smells heavenly

I'll read you some , shower gel

handcream, soap, karité oil cream

a lot of lovely products at the price of 49 euro

L'Occitane is a good brand and it's a perfect gift for the women in your life

and the cathegory between 20 and 50 euro is over too

now let's move to the cathegory above 50 euro

here we are in the cathegory with the more expensive gifts

an eyeshadow palette is always a good idea in my opinion

there are many amazing ones on the market, I selected one of my favourites

urban Decay Naked heat, which was released this year and which is amazing

and it also looks aesthetically pleasing, I already showed it in some other videos

it's all in warm shades and allows to create many different looks

you can buy it in Sephora and the price is 51 euro

as usual I had to check my notes, so my first idea is an eyeshadow palette

for a slightly higher price I selected the third and last advent calendar of this video

bare with me I have an obsession for advent calendars

it's the Body shop one, let me check my notes again

Body Shop has several advent calendars available this year, I chose the one that costs 95 euro

because it's the one I like the most and inside you get

rose shower gel, a cute headband with bunny ears

a soap, a body lotion, a sponge,

and some make up products too, like an eyeliner, a lip liner, a lip balm

a body butter, an eye make up remover

I like this advent calendar because it's a perfect mix of skincare and make up

there's a bit everything and it's a lovely gift idea

let's move to the next product which is more expensive

the priciest item in this video will be 260 euro, but let's move to the next item

and it's not beauty related, this time it's electronic and I've got it here

it's a wireless speaker that you can connect to your devices, your tablet/phone ect

and play the music throught it

the sound is really good, so is the volume level and you can use it even to receive your calls

It works perfectly I gave it as a birthday gift to Daniele and we've been using it a lot

the price is 110 euro and you can get it on Amazon

and still talking about electronics mixed with the beauty world my next gift idea is

Sonicare, the super glam sonic toothbrush, the best on the market in my opinion

and this version is really cool, the price is 160 euro

and you get the Sonicare, the glass which is also a charger

which means you can keep the Sonicare in it and it will charge, but you can also use it to wash your mouth

and the charging box to carry it with you when you travel

this is the rose gold version which I really love, it's a present I'd love to receive too

you can get it on Amazon

The last gift idea is again beauty related

and I chose a Sisley set

one of the best skincare brands on the market

it's really expensive and in fact it's the most expensive gift in this video

but if you want to make a skincare enthusiast happy this is the perfect gift

I got this in France

and inside there are a few products , an hydrating cream, a toner and a mask

I couldn't find it on sale in Italy , but on Sephora

I found another set at the price of 260 euro

with just 2 products, but in full size and they are both anti age

so this is a present more suitable for women of 40 years and above

and we reached the end of this video with my gift ideas for her

I hope you liked the products I suggested and that this video will help you

with the hard task of finding the right present

if so don't forget to give it a thumbs up so that I will know it

and now it's time to talk about the give away

first of all this year the prize is not going to be one of the products I talked about

I thought to do something different

and the prize will be a 50 euro worth voucher on Amazon

so that you can use it both for your christmas presents or to buy something for you

you'll receive the voucher via email, so you won't have to wait for the delivery

How can you enter the give away?

first of all the give away will be open until December 8th when I'll announce the winner

to enter you need to leave a comment below the video writing whatever you prefer

you can leave as many comments as you want, then you need to

be subscribed to my channel, don't cheat as I'll check

share and favourite the video

and give it a thumbs up

I said everything, these are the rules, I wish you luck, leave comments below

and make sure to watch the video on December 8th to find out if you won

That's it for today, I remind you once more that on my blog you'll find the links

to all the products mentioned in case you should be interested

and subscribe to my channel so that you can enter the give away

that's really it, I send you a kiss and I'll see you in the next instalment from the serie, ciao!

Friends Try Khloé Kardashian's Diet For A Week - Duration: 8:21.

- Just been a lot of peeing.

- I got home and I just explode.

Fountains at Bellagio.

♪ Pishaw pishaw pah pah bah ♪

(electronic music)

- Hi, I'm Maya.

- Hi, I'm Selorm.

- And we're friends here at BuzzFeed,

and today we're trying the Khloe Kardashian diet.

- [Maya] Khloe was thickums just like me in the beginning,

and now she looks thickums also, but healthier.

Everything is just like.

I'm an emotional eater.

If I can change that by introducing a new habit,

I would feel better.

- I don't like cooking because it takes at a time,

and I also don't like the things that I cook.

I really hope that this makes me a little bit more

willing to try my own home cooked meal.

- If metabolism is a function of heat,

if calories that you heat energy units,

then the question is, how many calories do I need

to eat a day?

- [Philip] Khloe Kardashian's diet

includes seven meals a day.

- Oh!

- Compliance is critical.

Working with Khloe is like amazing

because she is warrior-esque.

Khloe was totally open to the coaching of eating her food.

It takes a big leap of faith.

For breakfast she has a shake made of protein

powder, almond butter, and a fruit of her choice.

- That doesn't sound good for breakfast.

It's a liquid.

- [Philip] Her second meal is a piece of fruit.

- Khloe, that's not a meal.

- [Philip] For lunch, four ounces of chicken breast with

veggies or a salad that's high in irons,

such as spinach.

Her fourth meal is a cup of celery or tomatoes,

and 12 almonds.

- 12 almonds?

- [Philip] Her fifth meal is more vegetables,

but this time with one egg.

Her dinner, fatty fish like salmon, as well as eight ounces

of veggies or salad.

And then after dinner, she can have one more piece of fruit.

- She's allowed to have one more--

- Wow!

- Piece of fruit before dinner.

- Where does the cake come in?

- [Philip] Is allowed to have one cheat meal.

- Oh!

- We go ball out for the cheat meal!

- And then making sure you hydrate correctly.

Not sparkling, not bubbly, not flavored.

Just plain ass water.

In the beginning, it's a complete pain in the ass.

- You pee a lot, but like, you get flushed out,

and your skin is like, wah.

- [Philip] There's the recommendation to stay away from

dairy, soy, juice, dried fruits, bread--

- Hold up, I can't eat bread?

Just give me a moment.

- It's like metabolic heroin.

You just don't do it.

- I kinda like this because you are eating really small

portions throughout the day, but you're eating a lot.

I guess you don't feel that hungry, and you're still

being nourished.

Okay, I see you, Khloe.

- We're eating rabbit food.

- But--

♪ We're gonna do it and it's gonna be great ♪

♪ We're gonna have a lot of fun not eating soy and bread ♪

So today I planned out everything.

I planned out my outfit.

I had water sitting next to my bed.

I had whey powder and almond butter ready to be

mixed up at work.

I did not come to play today.

I woke up that morning and I'm like,

"I'm a boss ass (beep), I'm drinking breakfast

"while I work."

Like, I felt amazing.

- So I made chicken avocado brown rice spinach bowl.

I used lemon and a little bit of olive oil as the dressing,

which normally I love me some blue cheese,

but it wasn't on the Khloe Kardashian diet,

so gotta do it this way.

- I'm supposed to have eight ounces of vegetables tonight,

so I'm just squeezing them in so I can get more vegetables

'cause I'm so hungry right now.

Also make some cod fish.

I can't completely say I'm excited to eat this.

No one said I couldn't season it, and it tastes like (beep)

so I'm gonna season the (beep) out of this fish.

- Spinach is my best friend right now.

Hopefully all this healthy eating and fruits

will get rid of this pimple.

Does Khloe Kardashian have pimples?

I don't think so.

- I think it was nice that Maya was doing it with me

because there were moments during lunch where I was like,

"What are you eating today?

"There are no options for us."

What did you eat for lunch?

- [Maya] Just a little bit of chicken, vegetables.

- See, at least you can eat the chicken.

- There's tofu.

- But we can't eat soy.

I was able to get beans and some lettuce.

- I just got rice and chicken.

- [Selorm] It just felt great having another person

supporting you and also going through

what you're going through.

Maya.

- [Selorm] What are you doing? (laughs)

What is that, Maya?

I'm out here eating fish food, and you're having that?

- But listen, I did good.

I made my smoothie, I had my fruits, I had my salad.

It's a lot of preparation, and--

- [Selorm] It is.

- And no payoff.

- True.

I don't know how to eat dry salad.

That's something that I'm not used to.

- No, you can put a little bit of olive oil and lemon.

- Oh!

So I'm a little mad at myself.

I was walking towards my friend's desk and I noticed

he had some M&M's and instinctually I grabbed them

and put them in my mouth.

I just eat whatever I want because I can.

- There's M&M's on the table, I'll eat them

because they're there.

There it goes again.

I'm sorry.

I ate like some little unhealthy things.

I did feel bad automatically.

It's weird your body is so used to eating this good (bleep)

and then when you put other things in, it's like, no.

- [Maya] We did have fun making the smoothie.

I don't know if it was good or not.

It had a lot of protein powder in it.

It just tasted like full on chocolate sludge.

- Yeah. - Salud.

There's so many different things going on

in my mouth right now.

- I like it.

- I'm into it.

- We freakin' did it.

- Mm!

What is this life?

I'm literally allowed to have 12 almonds.

That's all that I can eat.

- I'm eating my fruit for the day.

Before it was an inconvenience switching out fruit

for chips or cookies, like I would do every single day

around three o'clock at work,

and now it's just kind of like common sense.

I'm starting to notice I feel better.

I feel so dumb because it's always been there,

but sometimes we get lost in, like, unhealthy habits.

This week with Khloe's diet has really just opened up

my eyes to smaller changes.

Just with switching out a fruit for chips.

Who was I before?

I don't know.

- [Salorm] Cheat day's coming up.

I'm already thinking about it.

- I'm definitely craving cake like so bad,

but I've been working out more--

- [Salorm] Ummm.

- I've been doing so good with this diet.

I do not want to spoil it.

I don't know.

- I think we can cheat, but I don't think

we need to go crazy.

I'm have a date with the pizza.

He's gonna take me out and we're gonna

be beautiful together.

Peace.

So we're on our way to our cheat day place,

and Maya's tying my shoelace.

- Got you.

- [Salorm] Like a true friend.

- That was like dome shaped.

You touched it and you went, "Ooh."

And it was squishy.

Oh, it was so good!

Yes, yes, yes.

- [Salorm] Maya and I had eaten so much of the bread

and the salad, that by the time we got to the B dish,

we're full after one slice.

- I don't even want cake anymore.

I wanted to throw up because we had been clean eating

for this entire week, and then to just ruin it and eat

massive amount of cheese and salt and bread.

I felt out of breath.

That's one thing that I had noticed.

I didn't get out of breath this week because I wasn't

eating these fatty foods.

- Well, we're going back to the diet tomorrow.

- I feel like I need to, like, work out.

Hardcore, though.

- Oh.

- I already, like, walked up two large hills and then

ran this last one, which is something I would

never, ever do.

(exhales) I feel good.

I feel more inclined and excited to work out, and to

feel I'm getting stronger physically.

I know that sounds weird, but I feel like I'm getting

stronger mentally as well.

Even though I have cheated on my diet already,

so I'm probably gonna work extra hard.

Okay, bye.

Well, the week is over, and thank you, Jesus.

The difficult part of this entire thing was not

eating the food, it was breaking the habits that

I have been doing for years that have been unhealthy.

- I never have that kind of thought in my head like,

"Oh, maybe I should eat this because it's better for me.

"Not just eat this because I want it."

I really had to hold myself back a lot and just kind of

be like, "No Salorm, you can't do that all the time!

"You can't eat chocolate for breakfast."

- I was creating things that would make me

feel better.

Once that kind of clicked in my head, I was like,

"It's game on, let's go."

One great thing that I did not tell you that I will

reveal now is that I have lost three pounds.

- Look at you!

- It wasn't easy.

I did cheat.

It's an ongoing process.

- Be healthy.

- Do the thing and do it well.

- Eat your vegetables, kids.

- Broccoli does not come in--

- Bags.

- I thought broccoli came in, like, individual little

trees, but comes all in one.

I did not know that.

That was an experience.

We Followed A Marine Animal Trainer For A Day - Duration: 5:15.

(penguin honking)

(chill, rhythmic music)

- Guys, it's--

- [Jen] 7:50!

- 7:50.

The only reason we would ever wake up this early

is because we're going to--

- [Jen] The Shedd Aquarium!

- [Steven] The Shedd Aquarium!

- It's probably the nicest aquarium

in the Midwest, maybe America.

It's gigantic, it's awesome, it's very expansive.

- And we're gonna get a behind-the-scenes, sneak peek look

at otters, penguins, trees.

- [Jen] What?

- Bats!

- [Jen] Bats?

(upbeat music)

- My name is Michael Pratt, I am a trainer up at the

marine mammal department, and you guys are here

to experience our Trainer for a Day.

- So people can actually have this experience as well?

- Absolutely, they throw on a pair of rubber boots,

just like you guys got on, and they follow a trainer around

for about four hours, and they get to experience

the highlights of what we do every day.

We also wanna inspire people to work towards conservation,

protecting these animals out in the wild.

- Alright, let's do this! - Yeah!

- Let's just get right to it.

(chill music)

- So this is the marine mammal kitchen.

It's pretty much the busiest place in our department.

And we usually hand-sort through all the food.

Right now these guys are sorting through

some clam for our sea otters.

It's also really important for us to find

sustainable seafood to feed our animals.

We go through about 800 pounds of restaurant-quality food

to feed all of our animals every single day.

So we are gonna be sorting through this clam,

you can grab a piece of clam, pull of this top part,

and this is the foot, or the stomach,

and this is what most of their diet is made up of.

It actually costs the same amount of money to feed

an adult sea otter as it does to feed an adult beluga whale.

- Oh my god. - Oh my god.

That's quite a size difference.

- That's a 40-60 pound animal, versus a

potentially close to 2,000 pound animal.

- This is how kings eat, though.

- Yeah, the animals have poison testers.

All the traitors that eat it first, just to make sure.

(upbeat jazz music)

- [Jen] They're just looking at us like who the hell

are you losers?

Holy crap.

- [Steven] This one loves you, Jen!

- [Jen] Probably just touched poop, I don't even care.

- [Steven] Wanna see yourself?

(penguin honking)

- So the vocalizing, cause there's a bunch of new people

out here, they want to let themselves be known.

They actually used penguin vocalizations

to create some of the dinosaur noises in Jurassic Park.

Cookie's a very important penguin here at Shedd.

She will be turning 30 years old this year.

Cookie actually recently had cataract surgery.

- Oh my god.

So do you hang out with these penguins every day?

- I've been working with them for about seven and 1/2 years,

so I know them really well, they know me really well,

we've got a good relationship.

(upbeat music)

So one of the really important things

for animals here at Shedd is environmental enrichment.

Providing changes to their environment

to keep them stimulated.

These are some environmental enrichment devices,

also known as toys.

Just grab a couple of pieces of food, stick them in there.

So what we're gonna do is give these to Ellie,

our youngest otter.

- [Steven] Oh, hi!

[Jen] Oh my god.

- [Steven] You want this, Ellie?

Here you go.

Oh, wow!

- So it keeps their minds active,

they gotta work to figure it out,

it's not just given to them.

Some of the otters it takes a little while

for them to learn which way to push it,

but she knows what to do.

- [Jen] Where do these otters come from?

What are their stories?

- Here at Shedd we have five sea otters,

and four of them were directly rescued from the wild.

They were orphaned, or somehow separated from their mother.

So one of the nice things about working with

the animals here at Shedd, is it gives us the skills

that we can use to help animals out in the wild.

This is Luna and Mari.

- [Steven] Oh my gosh!

- I would just hang out here all day if I worked here.

I'd be like, I'm otter girl.

- Sea otters actually have the densest fur of any mammal,

because unlike most marine mammals,

they don't have a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm,

so they're relying on their coat.

It's also one of the reasons that they eat

so much food, too, is because their metabolism runs so fast

to keep up a high body temperature.

These are some of the treats that we give the otters,

it's just clam mixed up with water.

We put it in some little molds and freeze it.

- [Jen] Oh, they knew, she was like, I'm here.

- [Steven] Hi!

- Just toss it in there,

just don't get your hands too close.

- [Steven] Here you go.

- They will start to stash them in a little pocket

that they have under their forelimbs.

They're really intelligent animals,

they just have a really short attention span.

They get bored really easily.

- [Jen] Fair enough.

- Highly intelligent, low attention span.

I'm the beluga whale, feed me and I'll do anything.

- It was absolutely phenomenal, it was like

the coolest (bleep)ing we could've done.

- [Steven] One thing you just don't realize is how much

these people love the animals that they work with.

- They did tell us a lot about their conservation efforts,

and how they try to use their research

specifically to foster a better rescue and rehabilitation

of orphaned animals or animals that are sick.

I wish we got to touch the otters,

but I understand that they are fragile, gentle creatures,

and sometimes you just look, you don't touch.

I Wore "Thong" Jeans For A Day - Duration: 3:58.

- I feel like a doll that a mean older sister took

and then like ruined her clothing.

(upbeat music)

- I was looking online and I found these high fashion

Thong Jeans that debuted at Amazon Fashion Week in Tokyo.

They're basically just jeans with everything

cut off of them except for the seams.

My first thought was, Sara's gotta try these.

So I went and tried to find them but it seems like the only

place that the designer sells is within Japan.

So I am going to DIY them.

Let's do this.

Honestly, this seems like a waste of perfectly good jeans.

They are complete.

I'm gonna go find Sara and make her try them.

- [Chelsea] I made them for you

- Oh my God.

I'm gonna put these thong jeans on

and I don't know why I agreed to do this.

Can you imagine not wearing anything with these?

You would be seeing everything.

Fight.

I look like a video game character

because video game characters always are wearing outfits

that you're like, "Why?".

People of New York City always surprise me

with how much they like the weird pants I put on.

So this time I'm gonna guess that

they're absolutely love the thong jeans.

What do you think of my pants?

- Are you sure those are really pants?

- Yours are like my jeans on steroids.

- I'm even surprised you can call them pants,

but I like them.

- Wow.

- It's all about deconstructionism really.

Obviously, this is breaking it all down

and then you know, not building it back up.

Just leaving it down.

- I think they're interesting and cute and fun.

I think it depends on what you're wearing underneath them.

- A bitch knows to layer in Manhattan.

- Where would you see these pants again?

- The beach would be great.

- What you're doing is perfect with these pants.

- Museum Installation.

- Amazing.

So you're basically saying these jeans are a work of art?

- Maybe if you like wore it to the beach,

just like an easy over thing.

That'd be kinda cute and sexy, I guess.

- So what would you call these?

- I think I'll go with fake pants.

- Fants.

- Outline Jeans.

- Rags.

- Oh my God.

- Strip tease jeans.

- These are, the internet is calling these thong jeans.

- Fun pants.

- A g-string.

- G-jeans, like g-string.

- What celeb can pull this off?

- Rihanna.

- Rihanna will walk outside and go to the Grammys

with this and we'd be like, "Oh my gosh, yes."

- Taylor Swift.

- Tina Turner, for sure.

- Jaden Smith would pull this shit off.

- Sansa, from Game of Thrones.

- Lebron.

- I'd like to see him dunk with these.

Do you guys think that this is a trend that will catch on?

- Definitely make parents not happy and kids love that.

- Maybe if you started this beginning of summer,

it's possible.

- Wear them confidently and have your friends wear them

and let's see how it spreads around.

- I have a lot of old pairs of jeans

that I don't know what to do with them.

So if I cut them up, yeah, I can see it happening.

- You look great, you do.

- I'm back in from wearing the thong jeans out.

It was an experience.

I'm not really into these pants,

but I'm still very happy that I went out

to the streets of New York City

and asked people what they thought.

Because people are really nice and friendly

and even if they were mean about the jeans,

they were nice to me and they made me feel good.

The young man I interviewed said that

I was pulling them off because I have confidence.

Which is not something I really felt

but apparently I exuded it.

So, that's good to know, that maybe

even if you don't feel confident in what you're wearing

you can look confident and that's enough.

Alright, well, I'm gonna take them off now.

I mean, or I just leave them on

'cause it's like I'm wearing nothing anyway.

(laughing) That was so lame.

- Alright, this is a commentator on society,

take her seriously no matter what her fashion choices are.

That's a very personal and individual subjective thing.

You can not really judge someone

based on their fashion statement.

- Thank you so much.

Get Ready For Trump's Expensive Internet Tiers - Duration: 16:03.

WITH ALL THAT'S GOING AROUND IN THE NEWS WE CAN'T ALLOW

OURSELVES TO FORGET, THIS IS THE SET THAT IN A FEW WEEKS THE

FCC IS LOOKING TO DESTROY NET NEUTRALITY AND IS COMING UP

SOON.

I HAVE BAD NEWS AND IT HAS TO DO PARTIALLY WITH HOW PEOPLE

VIEW THE TOPIC OF NET NEUTRALITY BUT ALSO MAY BE WHY THEY

VIEW IT THAT WAY.

IT HAS TO DO WITH THE COVERAGE OR LACK OF COVERAGE IN THE

MEDIA.

THIS IS MOSTLY COMING FROM THE GREAT WORK OF MEDIA MATTERS.

YOU WILL SEE THE BROADCAST NEWS NETWORKS THAT NBC DID NOT

TALK ABOUT.

ABC SOMEHOW TALKED ABOUT IT FOR 25 SECONDS.

AND THEN WE GET TO MINUTES OUT OF CBS.

I DON'T KNOW THE LOGOS.

IT IS NOT A LOT OF TIME.

THAT IS THE BROADCAST NETWORKS.

THANKFULLY CABLE NEWS NETWORKS TO TALK ABOUT IT MORE ALTHOUGH

IT IS NOT THAT MUCH BETTER.

WHEN YOU CONSIDER THAT THESE NETWORKS HAVE 24

HOURS IT SEEMS LOW EVEN THEN.

THE

RAW NUMBERS COMES FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE PERSON

THAT WANTS TO KILL NET NEUTRALITY, MAYBE IT WOULD

BE BETTER IF THEY DIDN'T TALK ABOUT IT AT ALL.

OF COURSE FOX IS ON THE SIDE OF GIANT MEDIA COMPANIES WHO

WOULD LIKE TO CONTROL THE INTERNET AND PASS THEIR OWN

REGULATIONS AND NOT LET THE GOVERNMENT PROTECT OUR

INTEREST AND PROTECT THE INTERNET AS IT IS.

NBC NOT RUNNING ANY STORIES ON IT WHEN THEY ARE OWNED BY

COMCAST, ONE OF THE INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS IS NOT

SURPRISING.

THE CREDIT TO MSNBC.

THEY ARE ALSO OWNED BY COMCAST BASEMENT THE MOST AMOUNT OF

TIME ON THAT ISSUE.

STILL WAY BETTER THAN CREDIT TO THEM.

ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY ARE OWNED BY COMCAST.

THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TIERS BASICALLY.

AND ODDLY ENOUGH THEY DELETED THAT SAME PLACE ON THE SAME

DAY THE SEC SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DESTROY NET NEUTRALITY.

I LIKE HOW WHILE OBAMA WAS IN CHARGE AND THEY WERE PRETENDING

THAT THEY WERE GOING TO BE MORAL ACTORS, NO WE WILL PROTECT THE

INTERNET ON OUR OWN.

WE CHANGE THAT RULE AND WE DECIDED THAT WE CAN SLOW

DOWN YOUR WEBSITE.

IF THIS GETS DESTROYED AND WE START TO SEE THOSE TIERS OF

SERVICE AND THE VAST MAJORITY OF US END UP ON A CRAPPY TIERS,

IT'S NOT THAT THEY ARE BUILDING A HIGHER SPEED THINGS FOR

THOSE WHO PAY MORE.

THEY WILL FIND WAYS TO CUT YOUR SPEED AND PROBABLY CUT YOU.

THINK ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE DEBATING WHETHER OR NOT

THEY CAN AFFORD TO HAVE THE INTERNET IN THE FIRST PLACE.

OR SCHOOLS THAT ARE CONSIDERING LOOKING AT MORE INTERNET

CABLE COMPUTERS.

THINK ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE AND WHAT WILL END UP HAPPENING

TO THEIR EXPERIENCE.

THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH ñ WE ALREADY HAVE THIS HUGE

INEQUALITY IN TERMS OF EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES AND IT

CAN ONLY GET WORSE.

THAT IS GOING TO BE GREAT FOR A LOT OF AMERICANS.

I JUST WANT TO GIVE YOU AN AVENUE TO FIGHT BACK.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION AND CALL

YOUR CONGRESSPERSON TO DEMAND THAT THEY DO EVERYTHING IN

THEIR POWER TO STOP THE NONSENSE OF TRUMP AND PIE FROM

DESTROYING THE INTERNET WHERE THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES.

BY THE WAY, AJIT PIE IS NOT GOING TO LISTEN, BUT YOU

COULD EMAIL HIM.

BE CIVIL.

THE VOTE IS ON DECEMBER 14.

LET'S STOP THERE BECAUSE WHAT DO WE HAVE LEFT?

THEY ARE INVITING DISASTER.

THERE ARE ALL THESE COMMENTS THAT WERE SENT TO THE FCC.

JOHN IS GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT THAT AGAIN.

WHAT A JOKE

THAT TURNED OUT TO BE, SO THEY DON'T CARE.

MOST PEOPLE ARE AGAINST IT.

THEY DON'T CARE.

DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS ARE AGAINST IT.

THEY DON'T CARE.

VOTERS ARE AGAINST IT.

THEY DON'T CARE.

WHAT DO THE REPUBLICANS DO WHENEVER THEY ARE IN A BAD

SITUATION?

THEY GET PHYSICAL.

THE MOST FAMOUS INSTANCE IS IN FLORIDA,

THEY HAD THE RECOUNT IN 2000 AND A BUNCH OF REPUBLICAN LOBBYISTS

AND STAFFERS GET TOGETHER AND THEY WENT AND CIRCLED THE

BUILDING IN MIAMI-DADE TO STOP THE RECOUNT AND IT WORKED.

THEY PRETENDED TO BE REAL AMERICANS WHO WERE OUTRAGED THAT

WE WERE COUNTING THE VOTE AS IF A THING LIKE THAT EXISTS, AND

THEY SHUT DOWN THE VOTE AND IT TURNS OUT IF THEY HAD RECOUNTED

ALL OF FLORIDA, AL GORE WOULD'VE BEEN PRESIDENT, AND IT WORKED.

SO OKAY, SURROUND THE FCC BUILDING ON DECEMBER 14.

DON'T LET THEM VOTE.

DON'T DO ANYTHING PHYSICAL

TO ANY HUMAN BEINGS, PLEASE.

WE'RE ON THE LEFT, WE DON'T BELIEVE IN PHYSICAL ACTION

AGAINST HUMAN BEINGS, OKAY?

BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, THE FCC BUILDING, IF WE HAD ANY KIND OF

SEMBLANCE OF DEMOCRACY HERE, YOU KNOW WHAT OTHER COUNTRIES DO?

THEY POUR INTO THE STREETS.

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.

THERE SHOULD BE HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE SURROUNDING THE FCC

BUILDING SAYING, CAN YOU TAKE THE VOTE NOW?

THAT'S THE ONLY THING LEFT.

YEAH.

REALISTICALLY, WE SHOULD HAVE, I DON'T KNOW IF IT NEEDS TO

BE A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT, AND MAYBE THIS IS GOING TO

MAKE ME SOUND LIKE A GEEK, BUT THERE ARE A VARIETY OF RIGHTS

WE NEED TO HAVE AND ONE OF THEM IS THE RIGHT TO UNRESTRAINED

ACCESS TO THE INTERNET.

IT IS NOT AN OPTIONAL THING.

THIS ISN'T THE EARLY 90S,

IT'S NOT JUST FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PLAY DOOM.

YOU NEED THIS FOR EVERY AREA OF LIFE FROM COMMERCE,

BUSINESS, SCHOOL, RELATIONSHIPS INCREASINGLY, EVERYTHING

AND ONE OF THE REASONS I THINK THAT THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO

SQUEAK IN THROUGH RIGHT NOW, ONE IS WE ALLOWED TRUMP TO BE

ELECTED

EVEN THOUGH HE SPOKE OUT AGAINST NET NEUTRALITY BUT PEOPLE HAVE

BEEN WORN DOWN BY THE MULTIPLE TIMES WE'VE HAD THIS DISCUSSION.

UNDER OBAMA THIS CAME UP MULTIPLE TIMES, WE PUT

PRESSURE ON THE GOVERNMENT AND OBAMA AND FCC AT THAT

POINT WENT THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

IT JUST KEEPS COMING UP

OVER AND OVER AND THIS TIME THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY SUCCEED.

THE PETITION WILL HAVE A LINK DOWN IN THE DESCRIPTION

BOX AND THE COMMENTS SECTION BUT LET ME TELL YOU WHERE WE

ARE IN THE POLLS AND WHAT AMERICAN THINKS ABOUT THIS.

THIS IS GRAPHIC 32.

THE MAIN ISSUE THERE IS, IS MOST

PEOPLE DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS.

40% DON'T HAVE AN OPINION.

46% HAVE HEARD A LOT ABOUT NET NEUTRALITY RECENTLY,

THAT MEANS THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS HAVE NOT HEARD

ABOUT IT, PARTLY BECAUSE OF WHAT JOHN POINTED OUT WHICH IS

THAT THE MEDIA IS HARDLY COVERING IT AT ALL.

THEY DIDN'T SEE IT ON TV SO A LOT OF AMERICANS NEVER HEARD

ABOUT IT.

WHEREAS THE PEOPLE WHO DID HEAR ABOUT IT, THE NUMBERS ARE

OVERWHELMING, 52 TO 18 ON OUR SIDE.

IN FACT, 55% OF DEMOCRATS ARE FOR NET NEUTRALITY, THAT IS

KEEPING THE INTERNET AS IT IS, BUT SO ARE 52% OF REPUBLICANS.

THE REPUBLICANS GO WAIT, DON'T TAKE AWAY MY RIGHT WING

WEBSITES.

YOU THINK IS BIG CABLE COMPANIES ARE GOING TO CARE ABOUT

YOUR RIGHT WING BLOGS?

NO, YOU ARE FIRST ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK.

THEY DON'T LIKE YOUR BIGOTRY.

IT COSTS THEM CUSTOMERS.

THAT IS WHY ACTUAL VOTERS HATE THIS THING.

WHICH LEADS US TO THE HILARIOUS SITUATION OF, GRAPHIC 34,

ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY ASKED FOR COMMENTS FROM THE

SEC BULIMIC OF YOU A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT.

LAST TIME THEY DID THIS IN 2014

A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY SINCE THEN, COME ABOUT 450,000,

SEVERAL AND THEY WERE ALMOST ALL FOR KEEPING NET NEUTRALITY,

SO THE REPUBLICANS ON THE COMMISSION LOOK TO THAT AND

GO, WHEN YOU ASK FOR COMMONS IT DOESN'T WORK OUT WELL FOR US.

THEY LIKE THE INTERNET AND THEY WANT TO KEEP IT AS IT IS THAT

WE TRY TO DO OUR PROPAGANDA, WE SENT PIE ON FOX NEWS AND WE

DID OH NO, KEEPING THE INTERNET AS IT IS WOULD BE GOVERNMENT

REGULATION.

INSTEAD LET VERIZON AND COMCAST DO ANY

REGULATION THEY LIKE BUT ONLY FOR THEIR BENEFIT AND NOT YOURS.

DAMN, THAT DIDN'T WORK.

SO THIS TIME THEY ASKED FOR COMMENTS, BUT NOW THERE ARE

BOTS, THEY GET 22 MILLION COMMENTS.

LET'S LOOK INTO THAT.

PEW RESEARCH CENTER FOUND OUT, REPORTED BY THE HILL:

TO GIVE YOU CONTEXT, WHICH SIDE HAS THE DUPLICATE COMMENTS?

ONE INSTANCE WAS 2.8 MILLION PEOPLE TO SEND IN THE SAME,

BECAUSE JOHN OLIVER DID A SEGMENT ON IT WHICH WAS AWESOME.

THAT'S A LOT OF PEOPLE.

GOD BLESS HIM.

CONSIDERING THAT HE DOES EIGHT MINUTES OF VIDEO A

YEAR, HE DEVOTED A LOT OF IT'S A NET NEUTRALITY GOING BACK

TO THE YEARS SO HE DESERVES A LOT OF CREDIT FOR THAT.

THAT ARE ACTUALLY HUMAN BEINGS WHO GOT WORKED UP BY

JOHN OLIVER, BLESS HIS HEART, AND SAID YES I WANT TO KEEP

THAT NEUTRALITY.

LET'S LOOK AT THE REST.

MAYBE THE PEOPLE REALLY DON'T LIKE THAT NEUTRALITY.

MAYBE THEY WERE LISTENING TO RUSH LIMBAUGH AND HE IS

LIKELY NEEDS INTERNET?

FIVE AND HAVE MANY PEOPLE GOT ON AND SAID NO, I'M GOING TO

SEND THE SAME EXACT MESSAGE.

OR PERHAPS THOSE BIG INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER COMPANIES

WERE LIKE, OH, THERE'S A THING CALLED ABOUT WHERE WE CAN

PRETEND THE PEOPLE ARE ON OUR SIDE.

SEND THIS STATE 500 MILLION MESSAGES SAYING I HATE

FREEDOM ON THE INTERNET, PLEASE SLOW DOWN ON MY WEBSITE, I

DON'T WANT TO WATCH NETFLIX OR I WANTED TO BE REALLY SLOW.

PORN, YUCK DOTZLER THAT DOWN, I DON'T WANT THAT EITHER.

OTHER PEOPLE TOO.

RIGHT-WING OR LEFT-WING SAYS IT DON'T AGREE WITH THE

ESTABLISHMENT, HATE THOSE.

PLEASE LET VERIZON AND COMCAST TOLD THEM.

LOOK AT THIS ELITIST LIVE OVER HERE.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT SOMETIMES WHEN I WATCH

THINGS ONLINE LIKE WESTWORLD APPLIES REALLY COMPLICATED

AND IT'S HARD TO FOLLOW.

IT'S NICE WHEN IT PAUSES ALL THE TIME, IT GIVES ME TIME TO

THINK ABOUT THE PLOT FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON.

I HAVE A COUPLE OF OTHER NUMBERS THOUGH.

7.7 MILLION COMMENTS

WERE SUBMITTED FROM MAIL DOMAINS ATTRIBUTED TO THE WEBSITE

FAKEMAILGENERATOR.COM.

I WONDER WHERE THEY'RE COMING FROM.

I CAN'T QUITE TELL.

ALSO AND IT IS INTERESTING TO FIND OUT, SOMETIMES THEIR

GEOGRAPHIC DIFFERENCES AND HOW MUCH PEOPLE CARE ABOUT AN ISSUE

LIKE SOME ISSUES AND CALIFORNIA THEY CARE ABOUT IT, IN SOME

CASES IN FLORIDA.

IN THIS CASE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE TOP

445,000

COMMENTS CAME FROM RUSSIAN EMAIL ADDRESSES SO IT TURNS OUT THEY

JUST REALLY CARE ABOUT STOPPING NET NEUTRALITY IN RUSSIA.

IT IS WEIRD HOW THAT WORKS OUT.

IT IS WHERE.

BY THE WAY, THAT'S MORE THAN ALL THE COMMENTS THEY CAME

AROUND THE LAST TIME THE FCC SOLICITED COMMENTS, CAME

FROM RUSSIAN EMAIL ADDRESSES.

YOU THINK THE RUSSIANS REALLY CARE ABOUT MAKING SURE THAT

VERIZON AND COMCAST MAKE MORE MONEY?

NOTE.

BUT SOMEHOW WHATEVER TRUMP SUPPORTS, THERE ARE

WEBSITES IN RUSSIA THAT ALSO SUPPORTED.

WHAT WOULD COINCIDENCE.

AND SO LOOK, FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DO UNDERSTAND THAT NEUTRALITY

AND UNDERSTAND THE S STANDS FOR FREEDOM ON THE INTERNET AND

KEEPING THING AS THEY ARE ON THE INTERNET, FOR THOSE FOLKS, WHEN

PIE IN THOSE CLOUDS GO AROUND SAYING WE HAVE A LOT OF COMMENTS

FROM FAKE.COM SAYING THAT THEY THINK NET NEUTRALITY IS

TERRIBLE.

THEY DON'T WANT THE INTERNET TO STAY AS IT IS.

YOU THINK WE'RE NOT GOING TO CATCH YOU?

YOU THINK WE ARE NOT SAVVY ENOUGH TO FIGURE OUT WHERE

IT IS COMING FROM?

SO IN THIS CASE, PEW RESEARCH CENTER DID A WONDERFUL JOB BUT

YOU WERE GOING TO GET CAUGHT EITHER WAY.

TO THEM IT IS IT IS JUST A JOKE.

IT IS JUST HOW DO I DO

PROPAGANDA.

ENOUGH OF A FIG LEAF FOR ME TO DO WHATEVER MY LITERAL

CORPORATE MASTERS TOLD ME TO DO BECAUSE PIE WORKS FOR THEM

BEFORE, HE WILL WORK FOR THEM AGAIN.

THERE THE DONORS TO THE REPUBLICANS WHO ARE

SUPPORTING THIS AND WHEN THEY GO OUT THEY'LL PROBABLY WORK

AS LOBBYISTS ARE THE SAME COMPANIES SO WHEN PEOPLE

TALK ABOUT A REVOLUTION, THIS IS IT.

YOU NEED A REVOLUTION SO THAT THE CORPORATIONS DON'T TAKE

OVER EVERY SINGLE PART OF OUR LIVES.

THEY'VE ARTIE CAPTURED THE GOVERNMENT.

NOW THEY'RE GOING TO CAPTURE THE INTERNET AND WHOSE ONLY

PEOPLE FIGHTING BACK?

A LOT OF FOLKS ONLINE, GIVE THEM CREDIT BY THE WAY, YES RIGHT

WING AND LEFT-WING SITES THE BLESS THEIR HEARTS AND YES,

GOOGLE AND FACEBOOK ARE THE GOOD GUYS IN THIS CASE AND THAT FLEX,

THEY ARE ALL FIGHTING FOR NET NEUTRALITY BUT ALSO COME ON THE

POLITICAL SIDE, THE JUSTICE DEMOCRATS BECAUSE THE CORPORATE

DEMOCRATS ARE LIKE IT'S BAD, RIGHT, BUT THEY ALSO TAKE

CORPORATE MONEY.

JUSTICE DEMOCRATS DON'T TAKE CORPORATE MONEY SO THEY CARE.

JUSTICE DEMOCRATS.COM/NETNEUTRALITY.

THE LINK IS IN THE DESCRIPTION BOX.

SIGN THE PETITION.

FIND ANY WAY YOU CAN TO FIGHT BACK.

-------------------------------------------

Death Date Announced For The Internet - Duration: 8:41.

AJIT PAI IS HEAD OF THE FCC, THE FEDERAL INDICATIONS

COMMISSION, AND HE'S HONESTLY A CORPORATE HACK.

HE USED TO WORK

FOR VERIZON, GOT PAID A GOOD AMOUNT OF MONEY FROM THEM, THEN

REPUBLICANS PUT HIM AT THE FCC TO MAKE SURE HE CHANGED THE

RULES IN FAVOR OF COMPANIES LIKE -- VERIZON.

IT'S NOT JUST THEM,

IT'S AT&T AND OTHER INTERNET PROVIDERS.

NOW, THE REASON YOU

HAVE THE INTERNET AS YOU DO NOW, WHICH IS FREE AND OPEN, IS

BECAUSE THERE WERE REGULATIONS PUT INTO PLACE.

THE REGULATIONS

DO NOT GO AND INTERFERE WITH THE INTERNET, IN THIS CASE IT'S A

REGULATION THAT SIMPLY PROTECTS THE INTERNET, THAT SAYS THAT

COMPANIES WHO HAVE THE PIPES GOING INTO YOUR HOUSE CANNOT

THEMSELVES REGULATE THE INTERNET UNFAIRLY, AND SLOW DOWN SOME

WEBSITES, SPEED UP OTHER WEBSITES, AND CREATE AN UNEQUAL

INTERNET.

ALL IT DOES IS PROTECT THE INTERNET.

SO AJIT PAI WAS

BROUGHT IN TO DESTROY THAT, AND IN MAY HE GOT HIS FIRST VOTE

THAT HE WANTED, TO BEGIN TO END NET NEUTRALITY.

AS WE GO THROUGH

THIS EXPLAIN TO YOU WHY THE RIGHT WING IS ACTUALLY OPPOSED

TO HIM, THE ONES THAT ARE ONLINE, AND WHY THEY ARE RIGHT.

FIRST LET ME GIVE YOU WHAT HAPPENED TODAY --

NOW, LET ME BEGIN THE EXPLANATION FOR THE

RIGHT-WINGERS.

YOU MIGHT SEE THAT AND SAY IF REPUBLICANS LIKE

HIM I SHOULD LIKE HIM, AND OBAMA ERA REGULATIONS, SCARY -- OBAMA

DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO CHANGE THE INTERNET COME HE JUST PASSED

REGULATIONS SAYING YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO TOUCH THE INTERNET,

DON'T CHANGE IT.

NOW, WHY SHOULD THE RIGHT WING BE MORE CONCERNED

THAN THE LEFT?

LOOK AT ALL YOUR ALT RIGHT GUYS, THEY SAY THINGS

THAT GET THEM BANNED FROM WEBSITES LEFT AND RIGHT, AND IF

GIANT CORPORATIONS ARE REGULATING THE INTERNET THEY

WANT TO BE ABLE TO SELL TO EVERYBODY.

THEY WON'T WANT TO

HAVE THESE RIGHT-WINGERS SAYING CRAZY STUFF ON THE INTERNET, AND

ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE TAKING ON THE ESTABLISHMENT IN THEIR OWN

PARTY OR MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS, THEY AREN'T GOING

TO WANT THAT AT ALL.

YOU GUYS WILL BE THE FIRST ONE THROWN

OVERBOARD, AND THEN THEY WILL COME FOR US.

WHY?

BECAUSE THEY

ARE CORPORATIONS, THEY JUST WANT TO MAXIMIZE THEIR PROFITS.

AND

IF YOUR WEBSITE IS HINDERING THEIR PROFITS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE,

OR FORM, YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO CARE ABOUT YOU?

THEY

ARE LEGALLY NOT ALLOWED TO CARE ABOUT YOU.

OF COURSE THEY WILL

SLOW DOWN THE WEBSITES YOU LIKE UNLESS YOU PAY A RANSOM.

YOU

THINK CORPORATIONS ARE YOUR FRIENDS?

THEY ARE NOT HUMANS.

THEY WILL MAXIMIZE PROFIT BY LAW.

ALONG THOSE LINES, THE HILL

REPORTS --

HEY ALL YOU ALT RIGHT GUYS, YOU HAVE ALL THE CASH IN THE

WORLD TO GET INTO A FAST LANE?

I DIDN'T THINK SO.

SO IF YOU DON'T

PAY FOR THE FAST LANE THEY CAN NOW, IF IT PASSES, THEY WILL

HAVE THE FINAL VOTE ON DECEMBER 14, IF THIS PASSES THERE'S NO

MORE NET NEUTRALITY AND THOSE COMPANIES CAN SAY, ONE, YOU

DIDN'T PAY ME A RANSOM, NOW YOUR SITE IS INCREDIBLY SLOW.

LOOK,

NOW THEY CAN'T GO ON YOUR SITE, THEY CAN GO ON MY SITE.

TO THOSE

COMPANIES HAVE A GIGANTIC WEB PRESENCE?

OH MY GOD, HUFF POST

IS PART OF VERIZON, YOU RIGHT-WINGERS, HUFF POST WILL BE

SUPERFAST AND YOUR WEBSITES WILL SUCK.

THEY JUST TOLD YOU, THEY

WILL BE ABLE TO THROTTLE THEM ALL THE WAY BACK.

SO WHY AM I

FIGHTING FOR IT IS A PROGRESSIVE?

BECAUSE I BELIEVE

IN AMERICA AND THE INTERNET AND I DON'T THINK ANYBODY SHOULD BE

THROTTLED.

WE'VE GOT PARTNERSHIP WITH SOME OF THE BIGGEST

COMPANIES OUT THERE ON THE INTERNET, AND WE'LL SEE HOW

THINGS TURN OUT, WE MIGHT BE TOTALLY FINE.

BUT IT IS A

TERRIBLE IDEA OVERALL, A TERRIBLE IDEA FOR THESE

CORPORATIONS TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO REGULATE THE INTERNET BY

THEMSELVES WHEN YOU DIDN'T EVEN VOTE FOR THEM.

THEY AREN'T

ACCOUNTABLE TO YOU.

MORE ON THIS.

JESSICA ROSENWORCEL,

AN FCC COMMISSIONER, SAID --

PHILOSOPHICALLY, THIS IS

ONE OF THE WORST THINGS THE

GOVERNMENT CAN DO.

BECAUSE LOOK AT TV, BOTH FOR THE RIGHT-WING

AND LEFT-WING, YOU THINK THEY REPRESENT YOU?

THEY ARE ALMOST

ALL MILLIONAIRES ON TV.

AGAIN, IF YOU ARE A BERNIE SANDERS

SUPPORTER OR A REPUBLICAN, YOU THINK ALL THOSE GUYS ON CABLE

NEWS VOTED FOR YOUR CANDIDATE?

CANDIDAT I WOULD SAY

APPROXIMATELY 148 OF 150 VOTED FOR HILLARY CLINTON, AND ALL THE

GIANT CORPORATIONS WHO BACKED HER.

THEY ALREADY OWN TV.

BUT

THE INTERNET, IT IS PESKY WITH ITS FREEDOM AND OPENNESS AND

EQUALITY, THEY ARE COMING TO CRUSH IT.

YOU HAVE TO FIGHT

BACK.

YOU KNOW HOW MANY COMMENTS HAVE ARTIE BEEN SENT TO THEM?

22

MILLION.

THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN.

SO I THINK WE HAVE TO SHOW UP,

WE HAVE TO GO TO THEIR HOUSE.

NOT THEIR PHYSICAL HOUSE, THEIR

OFFICE.

LET ME EXPLAIN WHEN THE, REAL VOTE IS, TODAY THEY TOOK

ANOTHER STEP FORWARD BUT --

ON DECEMBER 14 THE FCC BUILDING SHOULD BE SURROUNDED.

I'M A PROGRESSIVE, I BELIEVE IN NONVIOLENCE, BUT I BELIEVE IN

POLITICAL ACTION.

THE ADDRESS FOR THE FCC IS 445 12TH ST SW,

SHOW UP NOW.

I DON'T CARE IF IT'S ONE GUY WITH A SIGN, 100

NURSES, 1000 TEACHERS, WHOEVER IT IS.

FROM THIS DATE TO

DECEMBER 14 YOU SHOULD LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU EXIST, AND YOU

WANT A FREE INTERNET.

THIS PHONE NUMBER IS ANOTHER WAY TO REACH

THEM, NO OTHER CALL SHOULD GET THROUGH.

LET THEM KNOW.

AND

FINALLY, LOOK, I DIDN'T DIG THIS EMAIL UP, IT'S ON THEIR WEBSITE.

WE SENT 22 MILLION COMMENTS AND AJIT PAI APPARENTLY BURNED THEM

IN SOME CAMPFIRE, DOESN'T CARE.

HA-HA, 22 MILLION PEOPLE WANT A

FREE INTERNET.

YEAH BUT THE GUYS WHO PAID ME BEFORE AND THE GUYS

WHO WILL PAY ME AFTER I LEAVE THIS JOB WANT ME TO SELL OUT THE

INTERNET, SO THAT'S WHAT HE'S GOING TO DO.

SO HERE IS HIS

EMAIL, AJIT.PAI@FCC.GOV.

LIKE I SAID, THIS IS PUBLIC

INFORMATION, YOU COULD HAVE FOUND IT ON THEIR WEBSITE AS

WELL, I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING YOU CAN'T SEE IN PUBLIC.

BUT IF THEY

IGNORE 22 MILLION AMERICANS, I GUESS THEY HAVE TO SEE YOU

BEFORE THEY UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE REAL.

SO, LOOK, I WISH I

COULD HELP MORE, I WISH I COULD STOP EVERYTHING AND GO FIGURE

OUT A WAY TO ORGANIZE RALLY ON TOP OF RALLY, I'M HANDING IT

OFF.

I'M HOPING YOU CAN BEGIN TO DO THIS ON YOUR OWN OR HAVE THE

RIGHT WING ORGANIZE THE RIGHT, THE LEFT WING ORGANIZE THE LEFT,

MODERATES DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO, BUT STOP BY THE FCC AND

BEGIN THE PROTESTS NOW.

ON DECEMBER 14 THEY SHOULD HEAR YOU

ROAR.

AND IF THEY STEAL THE INTERNET FROM YOU, AT LEAST LET

THEM KNOW YOU AREN'T GOING TO LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT. AND

SHAKE THE RAFTERS A LITTLE BIT.

A Comedian Made Fun Of Me For A Day - Duration: 6:09.

How long have you been in a cult?

What's it like to be a Chia human?

You look like you could stick your finger in a socket

without having stuck your finger in a socket.

(upbeat music)

I volunteered to let a comedian heckle me

all day tomorrow.

He's gonna come to my house.

He's gonna wake me up.

He's gonna spend all day with me.

I'm kinda looking forward to it 'cause I like company,

but I also feel like it might get really annoying,

especially if his jokes are bad.

My name is J. Chris Newberg and I've been a comedian

for 18 years.

Throughout my career, I've been heckled from time to time,

but I've never had the joy and pleasure

of heckling someone back.

I volunteered to do this because I think I have really

thick skin and I like good comedy.

I imagine he'll just be like, observing what I do

and making fun of it.

I can't imagine it could get that personal because

how would he know anything about me?

I've never met this guy.

I've done some extensive research on Jordan.

I've looked online at his Facebook and Instagram

and Twitter profiles.

I've talked to his friends.

I've talked to his coworkers.

I've talked to his ex-girlfriend.

I'm comin' at him.

I'm not really sure how I'm going to feel,

'cause I hate everything hecklers represent.

I'm gonna try to be mean,

but I'm not a mean person.

But, fuck him.

It's 7:53 in the morning.

I found Jordan's place.

I'm with Kelly.

She's a producer at Buzzfeed.

She's gonna be followin' me.

We're outside

his apartment.

It's pretty good so far.

It's uh, pretty dirty.

I don't understand the science of this decor.

Like, what girl doesn't come in here,

see this,

and then just leap right off the balcony?

Here's Jordan killing it,

from when he played a young Carrot Top.

I wonder which one of those socks are his girlfriend.

- [Jordan] Hello.

Hey buddy.

(laughs) Super excited to be here

with the third baseman of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Dude, I don't even know who the third baseman is

of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Look in the mirror, buddy.

So, what's it like to be the body double for sadness?

People do say I have resting sad face.

So, I heard you and your girlfriend just broke up.

True. Good for her.

Damn, getting some--

Gettin' deep. Yeah, and you're

putting on your girlfriends. What?

You'll understand later.

How long have you played bass for Mumford and Sons?

You're flossing on the day that you're going to the dentist.

Isn't that like cleaning your house before you have

a cleaning lady come over?

Which, obviously, has never happened.

So, you're putting product in right now?

Mmhmm. That's cool.

How long have you been a before model?

You're like the most handsome of all the Keebler elves.

We're going to the dentist.

You're gonna let him drill ya?

Well, hopefully not. (playful music)

Hopefully, I won't need any drillings.

Maybe just some poking.

Minimal poking, hopefully.

That's cool.

That was my nickname in high school.

Do you find that you're on Tinder most of the time

during sex?

What are your favorite dating apps?

Tinder is the tried and true.

What's your opening line usually, on Tinder?

I don't use repeat opening lines

'cause I think that's insincere.

I use their profiles to come up with opening lines.

What was your favorite that you've ever used?

Oh man, I had a really good one recently.

It didn't get a response and I was bummed about it.

Her profile just said I like people, places, and things.

And, I said, what you got against adjectives?

They probably have very nice things to say about you.

I thought that was pretty good.

It's weird that that didn't get a response.

So, do you still talk to Harry Potter?

Do you get sad when some of your personalities

won't talk to you?

Would you fuck yourself for money?

A-ha-ha-ha-ha, you suck at parking.

So, I've got my first break from getting heckled,

and so far he hasn't gotten under my skin.

Nice guy, I like him.

- [J. Chris] Any final words before they tell you

that you have nine cavities?

I'm really hopin' they don't tell me that.

You're doing so good, Jordan.

(instrument motor running) Hopefully, they'll give you

a little plaque.

What'd you have for lunch?

I had like a chicken pita thing.

It's so hard to be mean to you.

It's just so hard, because everything

that you do is just nice.

Like, there's nothing weird about

having a chicken pita for lunch.

I'm at Jordan's desk now at Buzzfeed.

So, seriously, what happens in the finale

of Game of Thrones?

Dude, you know we're not allowed to talk about that.

I'm here also with Destiny,

his desk neighbor.

What's it like bein' around Jordan all day?

He's a great guy.

Really nice, really quiet.

Kinda sits to himself. No, I said Jordan.

Gettin' ready to go down to the Laugh Factory from The Den.

Gonna get on stage and do some jokes,

and Jordan is gonna heckle me like I've heckled him all day.

Hey, what's up.

How's is goin'?

I'm in pretty good shape.

I'm in really good spirits.

I've lost a lot of weight, ever since I quit--

Is that the shirt you picked?

(playful music)

Did you just pick up the first t-shirt off the floor

that you'd already worn like three times,

and decide, that's the shirt for my set?

(playful music) Uh, yes, actually.

That's what I did.

I decided that.

I asked this girl out once,

and she was like, all right, cool.

But, I want you to know one thing: I'm in AA.

I was like, all right, that's cool,

then you can drive,

'cause I'm gonna get hammered.

I bet she still didn't text you back.

Do you ever notice that sitting down and standing up

sounds a lot like sex?

'Cause you're always like,

oh my god!

It makes sense that you have no idea what sex sounds like.

Aren't you sitting in a booth alone?

Yeah.

I just childproofed my house,

and by that I mean I purchased condoms.

Tell a funny joke. (playful music)

You're all about not laughing at your shit joke?

(laughing)

- [Kelly] So, do you guys feel closer now?

I definitely think that he should answer that first.

Because he knew all these things about me,

and was sort of like digging at them,

I felt like a certain closeness.

Like, oh this person knows me,

and then, throughout the day spending the day together,

I felt like we sort of had a mutual understanding

that we're both going through this experience together.

I think the most frustrating thing

about heckling a nice guy is,

you kinda feel like an a-hole,

because you don't really mean it.

It's like, here's this nice person,

who's just going about their day,

and they're at the dentist and I'm like a-ha, you suck!

I would definitely hang out with you

in real life. Yeah.

I think that'd be fun.

I would do it as long as I didn't have to

come to your apartment.

Can Senate GOP get the votes for tax and funding bills? - Duration: 6:46.

JUDY WOODRUFF: The president and top Democrats went the rounds today over whether to sit

down together and talk about keeping the government operating.

As they did, a Republican tax reform bill moved another big step forward.

Lisa Desjardins begins our coverage.

LISA DESJARDINS: You couldn't miss the empty chairs.

And that was the point, as President Trump criticized Senate and House Democratic Leaders

Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi for refusing to meet at the White House today.

DONALD TRUMP, President of the United States: They decided not to show up.

They have been all talk and they have been no action.

And now it's even worse.

LISA DESJARDINS: In a morning tweet, Mr. Trump preempted today's scheduled meeting with Democratic

leaders, writing, "I don't see a deal."

Hours later, Schumer and Pelosi pulled out of that meeting, saying the president's tweet

indicated it would be a waste of time.

SEN.

CHUCK SCHUMER (D-NY), Minority Leader: Leader Pelosi and I believe the best path forward

is to continue negotiating with our Republican counterparts in Congress instead.

LISA DESJARDINS: Republicans need at least some Democratic votes to pass a government

funding bill ahead of next week's deadline.

Meantime, the GOP also needs votes on tax reform, with some eight to 10 key undecided

members.

DONALD TRUMP: We had a good day today.

We had a phenomenal meeting with Republican senators.

It was somewhat of a love fest.

They want to see it happen.

LISA DESJARDINS: After the president's visit, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stressed

the complexities of tax reform.

SEN.

MITCH MCCONNELL (R-KY), Majority Leader: It's a challenging exercise.

Think of sitting there with a Rubik's Cube and trying to get to 50.

And we do have a few members who have concerns and we're trying to address them.

LISA DESJARDINS: If Republicans can't get the votes on their own, today, a group of

Democratic senators said they're ready to work on a different tax deal.

SEN.

CLAIRE MCCASKILL (D), Missouri: The way you get permanent tax reform is by getting more

than 60 votes.

And the way you do that is by working in a bipartisan way.

What we show here today is that that is possible.

It is not only possible, it is probable that that would occur, if they would just work

with us.

LISA DESJARDINS: One final test for Republicans?

Protesters interrupted the tax bill's final committee vote.

It was hard to hear, but all Republicans on the committee voted yes, sending the tax bill

to the full Senate next.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And, Lisa, that tax vote in the Senate Budget Committee sent all of the

major stock indexes to record highs.

The Dow Jones industrial average gained more than 250 points, about 1 percent, to close

at 23836.

The Nasdaq rose nearly 34 and the S&P 500 added 25.

And now we turn again to Lisa Desjardins for more on this day's developments.

So, Lisa, we heard the Senate majority leader call it a Rubik's Cube.

The fact is, there is still a mad scramble going on behind the scenes to get this done.

LISA DESJARDINS: That's right.

They want to vote on this, Judy, in the next couple of days.

And so now we're down to old-fashioned horse-trading.

The truth is, there are eight or nine Republican senators who are undecided.

Some of them were leaning no a few days ago.

And here is what is happening.

Bob Corker is a man the look at.

He's someone who is concerned about the deficit effects of this bill.

Well, enter the Corker compromise.

This is a new idea out today that Senator Corker says he likes.

It would be the idea to try and prevent a deficit hike because of tax cuts by installing

a trigger into the bill, so that if the economy does not grow by as much as Republicans hope,

then the tax cuts would be frozen.

Now, of course, some people would say, well, that means that taxes would go up, but Bob

Corker says he likes it because it protects the deficit.

Another key player, Judy, Senator Susan Collins of Maine.

We talk about her a lot and her vote.

She seems to be warming up to this bill because she feels that she has got some reason to

hope that they will include in this bill some protections to stabilize the health care markets,

or perhaps pass a side bill that stabilizes the health care markets.

And we heard the president said in the lunch today to her that he supports an increase

or adding back some of those state and local tax deductions, specifically the House version,

a $10,000 property tax.

Susan Collins likes that.

So a lot of add-ons at this moment right now, Judy.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And, Lisa, you were telling us that if these changes are made, that is

going to create potentially problems getting some other votes.

LISA DESJARDINS: Yes, here's where the Rubik's Cube comes in.

Right?

You might get red on one side, but then other side on the other end looks terrible.

I talked to, for example, Louisiana Senator John Kennedy.

He said this Corker compromise, the idea of a trigger that might lead to a tax change

in the future automatically, he is a hard no on that.

You gain Corker's vote, you lose Kennedy's vote and also maybe Ted Cruz's vote maybe.

How about Susan Collins' idea on the health care and stabilizing the health care markets?

Well, you might get that through the Senate, but that money that she wants to spend to

do that is a problem in the House.

So all of this is very tricky calculus.

JUDY WOODRUFF: But are they still looking at a vote this week?

LISA DESJARDINS: They are.

They're hoping for a vote on Thursday.

I will tell you what, Judy, the way we will know a little bit more is tomorrow.

If the Senate moves to this bill, if they bring the bill up on the floor tomorrow, that

will start 20 hours of debate that would lead to a potential Thursday vote.

If we don't see the bill come up tomorrow, it means maybe there's more going on behind

the scenes and that they don't quite have it ready yet.

JUDY WOODRUFF: So, meantime, Lisa, while all this work on the tax reform is happening,

there separately are -- is still a big problem with funding the government.

I think we're, what, 10 days from seeing the government shut down if they don't come to

an agreement.

As we saw with Leader Pelosi and Senator Schumer, they're not even talking to the White House.

The White House isn't talking to them.

LISA DESJARDINS: That's right.

They're not even in the same room together to discuss how to keep government running.

And this is a December 8 deadline that Congress itself set for when government funding will

run out, the end of next week essentially.

And, you know, Judy, I talked to a lot of Republican senators, the governing party in

the Senate, and I was surprised to hear many of them say, we're actually not worried about

it.

It's not even on our radar.

We're not sure how we're going to figure it out.

I think the idea here, Judy -- and we have seen this before -- is that once they get

past tax reform, if they do, then they will figure it out next week.

And, normally, that does work, but I think we have a very situation this year, many different

pieces in play, with this spending deadline, including DACA, children's health insurance,

and also military spending that I think I walk away from my discussions with leaders

today thinking that who knows if we will have a shutdown, but it is possible because they're

not seriously addressing it yet.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Well, Lisa, we are counting on you to straighten it all out.

LISA DESJARDINS: Good grief.

(LAUGHTER)

LISA DESJARDINS: I will try.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Lisa Desjardins reporting from the Capitol, thanks.

LISA DESJARDINS: Thank you.

For this doctor, a son's death by overdose inspires his mission to rescue others - Duration: 9:13.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Next: the latest in our continuing coverage of the opioid crisis, America Addicted.

It's the story of a doctor who, less than a year ago, suffered a devastating personal

loss to opioids, but now is doing everything he can to keep other families from suffering

the same fate.

Miles O'Brien filed this report as part of our weekly series the Leading Edge.

MILES O'BRIEN: Spend the day with physician Jim Baker, and you will understand America's

opioid crisis in a uniquely professional and personal way.

He lives in Holden, Massachusetts, a Norman Rockwell town just north of Worcester.

Idyllic as it seems, there is death all around.

DR.

JAMES BAKER, Maxwell F. Baker Foundation: In that time it took us to go around this

block, of a minute, including my house right there, four deaths and one person in recovery.

And so this is Holden.

MILES O'BRIEN: Less than a year ago, death by overdose came to his family.

He lost his son Max, or Macky, as his family called him.

He was 23.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: Macky was a sensitive, caring, warm, brilliant young man.

He was so smart, it was scary.

MILES O'BRIEN: He always enjoyed music?

DR.

JAMES BAKER: Yes.

He started playing seriously when he was about 10, and he would play every day, multiple

times a day.

MILES O'BRIEN: And because he was the drummer, the band played here.

Jim Baker can remember the night things changed.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: I was up in this room.

They did the first half of their set, which was clear and strong music.

Then they took a break.

When they came back, they were -- the timing was off.

The changes weren't right.

I thought, what happened?

I found out later that they had got a hold of pills.

And within a year, he had moved on to heroin.

How that happened, I still don't know.

MILES O'BRIEN: And so began a downward spiral.

He was flunking out of school, losing friends and his music deteriorated.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: He had the deepest desire to stop.

He knew -- he said, "If I don't stop, it's going to kill me."

But he couldn't do it on his own, and I couldn't find treatment.

MILES O'BRIEN: He was trying to find a fellow doctor willing and able to give Macky treatment

with Suboxone, a combination of two drugs.

One answers an addict's craving for opioids.

The other blocks the high.

But precious few doctors provide the treatment.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: The sad truth is, they say, I don't want those patients in my office or,

in more private conversation, it takes too much time, I don't want to deal with it.

I have heard people say, our group talked about it.

We voted against it.

There is no reimbursement.

MILES O'BRIEN: Jim Baker spent many years as an emergency room doctor, and now works

for hospice.

He makes house calls to people who need opioids to manage their pain.

MILES O'BRIEN: Today, he is checking in on Bob Hopwood (ph).

DR.

JAMES BAKER: Do you feel like, when you use it, if you just had a little bit more, it

would help you?

MILES O'BRIEN: He works hard to insure his terminally ill patients avoid unneeded suffering

with pain.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: Physicians are overtuned to this.

And What's happening now is, physicians are responding by saying, I am writing for fewer

opioids.

I don't write for opioids anymore.

And it is having a negative effect for people who have real pain and who need relief.

Now they can't find it.

The pendulum has definitely swung back too far, and now people who really have pain cannot

find relief.

MILES O'BRIEN: But he understands all too well the crisis that has caused this overreaction.

As his son's journey into the darkness of addiction worsened, Jim Baker felt he had

no choice.

He told Macky to leave the house, which prompted this letter.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: I said: "Macky, you can call me anytime, 24 hours a day no matter where

I am.

I will help however I can.

Just stay with it.

I love you so much.

Dad."

MILES O'BRIEN: He did stay with it.

He finally found treatment, and he got off the heroin.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: He was able to maintain sobriety for two years or so, and he was doing great.

He was in college.

He had fallen in love.

MILES O'BRIEN: He and Emma were planning on getting married, a storybook ending.

It seemed like he had beaten the odds.

And then, Thanksgiving last year, a horrible twist of fate.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: It was late at night and coming down this road.

His impact was right here, boom.

A young girl, we guess, just didn't see him coming because of a bush or a house there.

He fractured and deformed his right hand, his drumming hand, his writing hand.

And he was bruised up in his chest and his face.

And he was beat up pretty good.

MILES O'BRIEN: As he went into surgery, Macky told the anesthesiologist not to give him

opioids.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: But I found out later, she was injecting him with fentanyl.

And when he came out of the operating room, the first thing he said with glazed eyes is,

"I need drugs."

MILES O'BRIEN: Addicted once again.

A month later, he got the call he had been dreading for years.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: This is the road I was driving to when his brother called me and said, "Dad,

Macky is unconscious."

And I was coming up here hoping and hoping, please, Macky, please.

Couldn't get the door open.

And I'm asking him, is he breathing?

Is he responding?

And the answers were really scary.

MILES O'BRIEN: He was gone.

One of 33,000 Americans who die each year because of an opioid overdose.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: So, we're coming up upon a cemetery.

The field right above that is where he learned to play tee-ball.

Hey, Macky, dad is here.

Just want to tell you, I love you, pal.

We're going to keep on fighting,

MILES O'BRIEN: On this night, they gathered at a health club in Holden.

They pedaled hard to raise money for the Max Baker Foundation, and they heard Jim Baker's

talk, poignant and practical.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: My goal is to have everyone here know more about opioids than they did when

they came through the door.

MILES O'BRIEN: He told a rapt audience what to look for, slurred speech, pinpoint pupils

and long-sleeve shirts.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: The first thing that you do when you feel that problem is there, please don't

judge.

Recognize that that person inside of that addiction is still your son or daughter or

brother.

And they have behaviors that they can't control.

MILES O'BRIEN: He told them to get Narcan, an over-the-counter drug that can instantly

counteract an overdose.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: It's one of the few miracle drugs I have ever seen.

A person is blue, not breathing, dusky, even cool, dying, and get Narcan in, and, three,

two, one, they sit up and go, what, what?

Where am I?

MILES O'BRIEN: And he told them to get a sledgehammer.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: And if I hear a funny sound in the bathroom, or a thud, and knock, knock,

knock, and there is no answer in there, I'm going to pick this up and I'm going to whack

that door handle, and then I'm going to whack that hinge.

I'm going to bust down that door and get in.

MILES O'BRIEN: This is Jim Baker's mission, his way of channeling profound grief.

DR.

JAMES BAKER: I feel like, what would it mean to me had someone who was suffering done what

it took, done what was necessary to help Macky?

And I would be forever -- and I can't really talk about it, but the most meaningful thing

I could ever ask of someone.

But it's now my turn to do it for somebody else, and I know that's what he'd want me

to do.

MILES O'BRIEN: Max Baker is no longer with us, but his father is spending his days hoping

to make sure his son's life has enduring purpose.

For the "PBS NewsHour," I'm Miles O'Brien in Holden, Massachusetts.

JUDY WOODRUFF: So tough to watch.

Should Americans expect privacy for cellphone location data? - Duration: 4:40.

JUDY WOODRUFF: But first: The Supreme Court heard arguments today in a major case at the

intersection of new technology, the Constitution and privacy rights.

For that, John Yang has more.

JOHN YANG: Judy, the case centers around something most of us probably have within arm's reach

right now, a smartphone.

And it has the potential to transform privacy law in the digital age.

We're joined by Marcia Coyle, the chief Washington correspondent for "The National Law Journal.

Marcia was at the court for today's oral arguments.

Thanks for coming in.

MARCIA COYLE, "The National Law Journal": My pleasure.

JOHN YANG: This case is Carpenter vs. the United States.

MARCIA COYLE: Right.

JOHN YANG: Who is Carpenter and how did his case get to the Supreme Court?

MARCIA COYLE: OK.

Timothy Carpenter was arrested back in 2011 and convicted for a string of robberies of

RadioShacks and some other electronic stores in the Detroit area.

At trial, the government, the prosecution introduced what is called cell phone site

location data that it had received from the -- from Carpenter's cell phone companies.

And that data put him within a half-mile to two miles of the robberies that occurred in

2011.

He argued that this violated his Fourth Amendment rights because the government got that data

from the cell phone companies without a warrant.

They did have an order to get it under a separate federal law known as the Stored Communications

Act, but he said and argued to the Supreme Court today that the Fourth Amendment required

a warrant to get the info.

JOHN YANG: And under that other law, it's a different standard than a search warrant?

MARCIA COYLE: It's a much lesser standard for the government to prove that it needs

the information.

JOHN YANG: This is all-new technology.

It's under -- he's arguing under the Fourth Amendment, which was drafted in the 18th century.

MARCIA COYLE: That is correct.

JOHN YANG: And what -- you said that there was pretty lively arguments today.

MARCIA COYLE: There were a lot of questions, good hypotheticals.

The justices were very engaged and even gave the lawyers an extra total of 20 minutes for

the hour -- usually hour-long argument.

First of all, there's a question of this information.

How sensitive is it really?

Justice Kennedy, for example, said it doesn't seem as though it's as sensitive as bank records,

and the court, 40 years ago, said the government could get bank records without a search warrant,

because -- and this is the government's whole argument here -- when you give information

to a third party, you lose your expectation of privacy.

And the government's arguing, that's what happens here.

You use your cell phone, it pings the cell tower, the cell company makes a record, that's

the third party.

You have no expectation of privacy.

JOHN YANG: Could you get any sense of where the justices were heading?

MARCIA COYLE: There was a lot of sympathy, I think, for the privacy argument here.

Justice Sotomayor said most Americans want to avoid Big Brother, and that includes the

government being able to track your location 24/7.

And there were other concerns.

But I think what is really the challenge for the court here is, where do you draw the line

with this new technology?

Carpenter's lawyer said that, as technology evolves, the court will be able to find discrete

categories to protect under the Fourth Amendment, like smart watches, which may contain body,

physical information.

So it's drawing the line.

I sense that Carpenter could win this case, but how will the court draw the line, that

is the real challenge here.

JOHN YANG: And this could have big impact beyond this one case.

MARCIA COYLE: Oh, absolutely.

In fact, that's always, I think, uppermost on the court's mind.

It doesn't just rule for the case in front of it.

It's looking down the road.

Justice Breyer, I think, spoke broadly to that when he said, where are we going?

This is an open box.

We know not where we go.

So I think the implications are great.

Many of the tech companies in the United States filed a friend-of-the-court brief in this

case, and they basically said they weren't urging the court to rule for Carpenter, but

they said, look, your decisions in this area are 40 years old or older.

We're now in a digital age.

Please, Supreme Court, bring it up to date, so that there's guidance in terms of how to

protect the privacy of the average person who uses this technology.

JOHN YANG: It's one of the decisions we will be rooking for.

Marcia Coyle of "The National Law Journal," thank you very much.

MARCIA COYLE: Pleasure.

Consumer agency is banking cop for American families, says Sen. Warren - Duration: 7:07.

I spoke with Senator Warren earlier today about the CFPB's current power struggle.

And I started by asking her who should be running the bureau.

SEN.

ELIZABETH WARREN (D), Massachusetts: Well, Congress said, in the language that was signed

into law, that when the director is unavailable -- that would be Rich Cordray, who has just

resigned -- the deputy director -- that would be Leandra English -- becomes the acting director,

no gap, no appointment.

It just happens by virtue of the law that Congress wrote, and that's it.

So, Leandra English is acting director.

That's how the statute reads.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: I know you say that the language is crystal clear, but the lawyers

at the CFPB themselves said, no, that the president has this authority and thus Mick

Mulvaney ought to be the acting director.

Why do you think that those lawyers, who are not Trump appointees, have it wrong?

SEN.

ELIZABETH WARREN: So, the alternative is to use the Vacancies Act.

That's what it is that the Trump administration is using.

And the Vacancies Act says that the president can appoint temporarily for these vacancies.

But there are two problems with that.

The first is the Vacancies Act itself says -- it was passed decades ago -- it applies

only to agencies that were already set up at the time the law was passed.

And going forward, it applies, in effect, as a default, that is, if Congress doesn't

otherwise provide for succession.

What happened over at the CFPB is that Congress did provide for succession.

In fact, how do we know that?

It turns out that in an earlier draft of the consumer agency, it actually said that they

would use the Vacancies Act, which means the president would be able to appoint someone.

And then Congress decided, nah, no, we're not going to do it that way because we want

more independence from political influence.

The only political influence that the president of the United States should have over this

agency, according to the law, is to nominate someone to head it.

And then the Senate has to step up and decide whether or not to confirm that person.

Otherwise, this agency, like the other banking agencies, is supposed to operate independently.

I recognize that there are lawyers all around every part of this.

That's why the thing is in court right now.

I think the language of Dodd-Frank is pretty clear.

So does Barney Frank, who wrote it.

So does Chuck Schumer, who also helped write it.

But it will go to the courts now.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Apart from the fight of who actually runs it, it seems that your bigger

disagreement is that Mick Mulvaney and the Trump administration wants to change the essential

function of the agency.

SEN.

ELIZABETH WARREN: Yes.

Well, this agency was put in place after the 2008 crash, and all of us remember what led

up to that crash.

All of the mortgage lenders and giant banks that had pumped out the terrible mortgages

that were, in effect, like grenades with the pins pulled out, and those grenades blew up

families all across this country.

Millions of people lost their homes.

Millions of people lost their jobs.

Millions of people lost their savings and their pensions.

And when we hit that crash, we said never again.

Big banks, Wall Street banks, they may figure out other ways to blow up the economy, but

they're never going to do it one family at a time, the way they did leading up to the

crisis of 2008.

And so Congress put in place the consumer agency to say, you guys have to follow the

laws.

And it cannot be the case that you can get out there and sell mortgages to people that

you know are going to cost them their homes.

You can't trick and trap people in the fine print of their credit card accounts.

Or, just to pick a recent example, you can't open faith accounts fake accounts in order

to boost profits.

That was Wells Fargo.

And that's what the agency does.

It writes some regulations.

It handles complaints.

It's handled about 1.2 million complaints so far.

It enforces the law on behalf of consumers, forcing the big banks to return more than

$12 billion directly to families they have cheated.

It's the cop on the beat for American families.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: I mean, the White House has been issuing what they argue are instances

of overreach, unaccountable overreach.

They said that the bureau, the agency made auto loans harder to get.

They said it opened up small community banks to frivolous lawsuits.

Do you think that there is any evidence of overreach at the bureau?

SEN.

ELIZABETH WARREN: You know, this is a really tough one.

The auto lenders got an exception from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau oversight.

And there have been some real problems in that area.

That's an area where the little part that got carved out has had a lot more difficulty

than the rest of the banking system.

But, you know, that's really the question for me.

Where is the overreach that the White House wants to talk about and are the Republican

talking points?

Was it overreach to go after Wells Fargo?

Overreach to go after the credit card companies that tacked on fees that people didn't owe?

Overreach to go after the student loan companies that overcharged on interest and fees for

student borrowers?

You know, I haven't seen any specific examples around this.

What I see is an agency that's out there working on behalf of American families, and what I

also see are very powerful Wall Street banks who don't like that.

They have about 12 billion reasons not to like it.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Lastly, Senator, earlier today, President Trump had a ceremony honoring

Navajo code talkers, again derisively referred to as Pocahontas.

Do you have any response to the president's comments?

SEN.

ELIZABETH WARREN: You know, this was supposed to be a ceremony honoring Native Americans

who had done incredible work on behalf of the United States, that had saved countless

lives both of people in the United States and people, our allies around the world.

This was a moment to honor them, to honor their heroism.

And Donald Trump just couldn't make it through without adding a racist slur to the event.

You know, I know he thinks that somehow doing that is going to shut me up, but it hasn't

worked in the past, and it's sure not going to work in the future.

What should accountability for sexual misconduct look like? - Duration: 10:29.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Let's turn now to the almost nonstop fallout from sexual misconduct revelations.

In our latest "PBS NewsHour" poll, done in conjunction with Marist College and NPR, we

asked about sexual harassment.

More than 20 percent of people, including 35 percent of all women, say they have experienced

sexual harassment or abuse in the workplace.

Nearly 30 percent of all people say they have personally seen someone harassed or abused.

Meanwhile, the allegations continue to reverberate.

Lisa Desjardins begins with this report.

LISA DESJARDINS: There was news nearly every hour, including the President Trump's first

personal words about Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, stressing Moore's denial of allegations

of sexually assaulting teen girls.

Earlier, the spotlight had been on another powerful man.

Michigan Democrat John Conyers, now the latest accused of sexual misconduct, is the top Democrat

on the House Judiciary Committee, which oversees the justice system.

Overnight, BuzzFeed News reported that, in 2014, a former staffer filed a complaint alleging

Conyers fired her for rejecting his sexual advances.

The report says he settled that case with money from his office budget, and that other

staffers filed affidavits that Conyers touched them inappropriately and regularly asked for

sexual favors.

In a statement this afternoon, the Michigan Democrat vehemently denied the allegations,

and insisted he settled the case to -- quote -- "save all involved from the rigors of protracted

litigation."

And in yet another story about U.S. lawmakers, Colorado Congresswoman Democrat Diana DeGette

told MSNBC that a fellow House member physically assaulted her years ago.

REP.

DIANA DEGETTE (D), Colorado: I was in an elevator, and then-Congressman Bob Filner tried to pin

me to the door of the elevator and kiss me.

And I pushed him away.

LISA DESJARDINS: Filner became mayor of San Diego in 2012.

He left that office under a cloud of different sexual harassment allegations.

And, finally, there was news about Minnesota Senator Al Franken, accused of inappropriate

touching or kissing.

NBC released a letter it said was from several dozen women who worked with him on "Saturday

Night Live."

They defended Franken, saying he treated them with respect.

Complaints about members of Congress seldom become public because anyone filing a complaint

must sign a nondisclosure agreement.

And unlike most of the federal government, neither the Freedom of Information Act nor

the Federal Records Act apply to Congress.

So, members don't need to keep e-mails or other records of what they do, nor make any

of that publicly available.

And Congress is far from alone.

USA Today looked at America's statehouses, and found that, in the last year, at least

40 state lawmakers in 20 states have been publicly accused by more than 100 people of

sexual misconduct.

And still more news.

Late this afternoon, Disney Animation chief John Lasseter, one of Hollywood's most powerful,

announced a leave of absence from his job at Pixar following reports that he was known

for grabbing and kissing women.

For the "PBS NewsHour," I'm Lisa Desjardins.

JUDY WOODRUFF: With resignations, suspensions and firings announced daily as new stories

come to light, it is prompting ever more questions about what the consequences should be.

We explore that now with Maya Raghu.

She is senior counsel at the National Women's Law Center and she focuses on women's issues

in the workplace, including sexual harassment.

And Rebecca Traister, she is a writer-at-large for "New York" magazine and author of the

book "All the Single Ladies: Unmarried Women and the Rise of an Independent Nation."

And we welcome both of you to the program.

Maya Raghu, I'm going to start with you.

There are so many cases we're hearing about now, so many accusations and now resignations

and so forth.

It's coming very fast.

But I want to ask you about what's happening to the accused.

Some of them are losing their jobs.

Some of them are subject to legal prosecution, a few of them.

How do we determine what should happen to these men?

MAYA RAGHU, Senior Counsel, National Women's Law Center: So, you raise an excellent point,

Judy, which is that there is what is happening and what should be happening.

And really there are two forms of consequences or accountability here.

There is the legal consequences, as you mention, and then there is this broader cultural accountability

that is going to come from many different sources.

So, in terms of legal consequences, obviously, as we have seen, many of those come from the

employer.

They can conduct an investigation, and they should conduct a thorough one when they receive

complaints, and then, if this person is found to have engaged in that behavior, then they

can have disciplinary consequences, including firing.

They can also be sued by an individual victim if there was a sexual assault.

But what accountability looks like really depends on what the victim looks like.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Well, let's talk a little bit about that, Rebecca Traister.

Setting aside a clear legal question here, how do we determine the degree of seriousness

and what should happen to these men?

REBECCA TRAISTER, Author, "All The Single Ladies: Unmarried Women and the Rise of an

Independent Nation": Well, I don't know that it's our job to determine the degree of seriousness.

In part, that is for the investigations.

One of my anxieties about this moment is that it's being produced by women coming forward

and telling their stories of the harm done to them, but in part because of a media and

the public's immediate question, which is, what is going to happen to the guys?

Are they going to resign?

Are they going to be fired?

And in part because, in some cases, employers are very quickly announcing that they're going

to fire a given person.

I think that the conversation is shifting so swiftly to the harm being done to men.

They're losing their jobs.

Their reputations are being damaged.

But, in part, the focus on the immediate punishment and the immediate announcement of consequence

means that we wind up talking more about the harm being done to the accused than the systematic

and structural harm that's clearly been done to the women who are making the allegations.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Very good point.

And we will continue to think about that, Maya Raghu.

It is the case, I think, that some of these women may make their own decisions based on

what they see happening to these men.

So, what is the recourse for a man, say -- you know, whether he runs his own company or is

a lower-level employee there, whether there is an H.R. department or not?

Is there going to be a clear kind of recourse in these situations?

MAYA RAGHU: Many times, there are often isn't, and that's part of the reason that so many

victims are afraid to come forward, because even though many companies do have H.R. departments

or do have sexual harassment policies, and do have a complaint procedure, they're not

really effectively implemented.

And sexual harassers aren't being held accountable.

So, people see that, and they see that, if they come forward, they are taking an enormous

risk with their jobs and their reputations and their careers.

And, in the end, people might just tell them, you're lying, we're not going to do anything

about this, or we did an investigation, but this is someone who we want to protect.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And it does, Rebecca Traister, send a signal to these women, doesn't it?

If they're making an accusation and nothing happens, which has been the case so much in

the past, that's going to be different than if they see consequences.

REBECCA TRAISTER: Well, that's the tricky part of this situation.

So, the fact that this is a new phase of treatment of these kinds of issues, because, in fact,

even in many of the specific cases we're talking about, complaints have been made.

People filed human resources complaints against Harvey Weinstein.

There was a woman who went and complained of assault.

Nothing happened, even though that was reported.

The same was true certainly about Roger Ailes, where his harassment of women was detailed

in a book, and nothing happened to him.

Bill O'Reilly, the lawsuit brought by Andrea Mackris for sexual harassment was very public

and widely reported.

JUDY WOODRUFF: Right.

REBECCA TRAISTER: He kept his job.

And so the fact that there are any consequences at all right now, in fact, is part of the

reason that I think we do wind up focusing so much on repercussions, is, because this

is a very new thing.

I mean, look, a year ago, 16 women came forward and accused Donald trump of assault, and he

got elected president.

We have been living in a no-consequences universe.

And, yes, and it's not just that someone might come forward and not get results and not have

satisfaction, not see any consequences or repercussions.

It's that they might themselves might be published.

Look at the story of Charlie Rose.

In that Washington Post report yesterday, there's one woman who tells a mutual friend,

and she's promptly fired by Charlie Rose.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And, Maya Raghu, is this going to make a difference in -- the fact that these

men are losing their job, is this going to make a difference in how comfortable women

feel coming forward, or not?

MAYA RAGHU: Well, again, I think it might empower some women to come forward and make

reports through formal systems.

But, let's remember, those systems in schools and workplaces have failed victims for so

many years that it's going to take a lot of work by workplaces, by leaders to rebuild

trust and ensure that there is accountability for people who are harassers and predators.

And, again, I want to go back to my point about what accountability looks like depends

on who the victim is.

So, we are hearing about very high-profile people in media and entertainment, both women

who are coming forward and the people that are being held accountable and accused.

But there are people of color, women in low-wage jobs, LGBTQ people who are terrified of coming

forward, who don't have the power to come forward, and whose stories aren't being told.

And, frankly, the peers in those industries, like the music industry, aren't holding the

perpetrators accountable.

JUDY WOODRUFF: And those are, in fact, many of the stories that we want to continue to

try to focus on here on the "NewsHour."

Maya Raghu with the National Women's Law Center, Rebecca Traister, we thank you both.

MAYA RAGHU: Thank you.

REBECCA TRAISTER: Thank you.

myself and the Edge for people to play mini-golf with us.

Mini-golf?

[APPLAUSE]

I think I should explain.

Yes, you should explain.

Well our band--

high school band-- made-- genuinely made a sacred pact

when we formed that whatever else happened to us,

or wherever we got in life, we would never ever play golf.

And-- no seriously, and it's--

it's even weird golf.

It's mini-golf.

Even mini-golf, because we thought ourselves as, you know,

proper rock and roll.

In a way you're going to violate

a golden oath for the benefit of these people.

Yes.

That is unbelievable.

What a sacrifice you've made.
