SHOOOOOOTOOOOOOO
Shoto Todoroki!
Son of Endeavor and a student at U.A.
Todoroki is one the coolest characters you'll see in My Hero, and that isn't a pun I swear.
Known as one of the strongest students in U.A. rivaling Deku and Bakugo.
He does it all with his technique, intelligence, and his quirk; Half-Cold Half-Hot.
Being one of the strongest students is a title on it's own, but how strong is that?
Welcome to the 'Outside of' series where I take a character from a franchise to list
and calculate their feats to see how strong they are.
To go about this, I'm going to be going over each attribute of a character, and if
I have to bring up something that's mentioned in the manga and not the anime yet, I'm
going to save it for around the end of the video and will warn you when it's coming
up.
Now to start this all off, we're going to be going over strength.
Which can count as actual strength, attack potency, or lifting strength.
Shoto's Ice is incredibly strong when it comes to these fights.
It has height (robots), it has width (against Deku), and … both (tournament).
In the span of 7 seconds, he covers a side of the tournament with his gigantic pillars
of ice.
Compared to large buildings, the tournament is a giant.
With the distance it goes I can say that an ice attack of this caliber should be around
City-Block level.
With a feat in the manga, I can say that he'd easily be around multi-city block or small-town
level, but I'll talk about that later.
I want to talk about comparison to other characters and Shoto's quirk.
See, Todoroki can have certain city-block feats when it comes to his ice, but what does
that say about his fire?
It took Todoroki 7 seconds to freeze those large ice pillars, but it took 3 seconds to
melt the enormous ice attack he was sending at Deku.
We had established in my Deku video that he's been City-Block level, and that's with calculation.
Off comparison alone, Todoroki would obviously be above Deku around this time since he beats
Deku, and doesn't bother against Bakugo, which is someone who he could've beaten,
but he purposely didn't.
If anyone wants to combat that, Bakugo's ability relies on his sweat, he doesn't
do as well in the cold.
If Todoroki wanted to, he could freeze Bakugo or around him to where he can't sweat enough
to create potent attacks, but that's neither here nor there.
Todoroki off feats and results is the strongest student altogether during that time.
That's with him using the freeze side of his quirk, but his fire side is equally as
strong, he just hasn't had time to work on it yet, (unless you read the manga) but
even when not working on his ability, he does reasonably well with it.
Todoroki's ice is a force you don't want to mess with, but Todoroki melts the ice and
uses the shock to help impact his blast of fire.
The heat of the fire must be ridiculous to melt that much ice in that short of time.
I focus on the melting due to how crazy that is.
You can see for yourself that even if you put lava on ice, it won't melt all the ice
immediately.
To do it in 3 seconds is a thing of its own.
Now, I'd want to talk about speed next, but I want to go over durability.
Not just durability of Todoroki, but the durability in My Hero.
This is something that I didn't seem to take into account due to something not making
sense, but it's anime so it's going to do that.
And since that it's anime it means that things in there that do happen are possible
for said characters.
Meaning when it comes to getting hit by things that blow away buildings, and it doesn't
destroy the person, they have that level of durability.
Todoroki had taken a full on punch in the stomach from Deku, who was flicking away Todoroki's
blasts of ice.
While his fingers were damaged, his punch at that moment had been potent enough.
If the flicks alone destroy large portions of ice like it's nothing, then that means
he should be strong enough in that moment.
If this isn't enough, which I wouldn't think so, think about the fight between Uraraka
and Bakugo.
Where Bakugo can completely atomize a large quantity of big rocks, he doesn't completely
disintegrate Uraraka.
The argument could be that he's holding back, but when it comes to further chapters
in the manga, you can tell that not everything can be solved with "holding back", even
though people go through worse attacks and aren't affected in the way a normal person
would be.
So, what I'm trying to say is, getting hit by a city-block level attack and being fine,
probably means that you have city-block level durability.
I mean, that's not the first time that's been said or used.
Though you do get somethings that show sense and take it away at the same time, but I've
learned to let go with things like that.
The next thing to go about is Speed, which is also different with Todoroki since he doesn't
have to run anywhere.
With access to his ice, he can skate anywhere needed, but how fast can he output ice.
I actually want to challenge what I said on the whole 7 seconds output, and I ended up
going about My Hero again and then I got into the Aizawa fight where in the blink of an
eye, he creates an ice pillar around the same size or larger than the one from the tournament.
Which means that it was probably faster than how the anime makes it seem, because they
made a blink of an eye into 5 seconds, and I'm sure you don't blink for that long.
So, that means that not only is Todoroki fast with his quirk, he's fast and potent with
it.
Because imagine blinking and a pillar of ice the size of an Olympic stadium had just gone
right through your chest.
I wanted to call Todoroki sub-sonic off comparing him to Deku, but the feats on his own protects
himself on how he stands.
Finalizing his stats, and adding on his other information in the character book.
Strength: City-Block / Multi-City Block / Small Town (I'll bring up the manga feat at the
end.
Speed: Sub-sonic.
Durability: City-Block.
Potential of Multi-City Block.
Power: 5/5.
Speed: 4/5.
Technique: 5/5.
Intelligence: 4/5.
Cooperativeness: 3/5.
Since we're done on stats, I want to talk about Todoroki's quirk.
While I don't like Endeavor as much as some (except for when he fights because that's
massively entertaining for me), the man knew what he was going to create, and how strong
this ability was going to be.
With being a skilled fighter and raised by the second-best hero, that says a lot about
what Todoroki is capable of.
Speaking on the fire that Todoroki produces.
Since he takes away from his father, it means that he can control what level of fire he's
producing.
The fire that is used regularly isn't meant to completely burn enemies, but it's fire
that hurts enough to incapacitate someone.
If either Todoroki needed fire that completely disintegrates someone, they could produce
that level of fire.
If you remember the fight between Endeavor and the Nomu's, he produced fire the level
that it had disintegrated the Nomu's head, and had carbonized the regenerative cells
of the Nomu's.
Though I'm not that sure on how powerful Todoroki's fire is on first use since he
had melted his gigantic pillars of ice in the span of time it takes you to charge and
blast a sneeze.
That was terminology for that, but you get my point.
I also want to remind you of his blast of fire that was helped heavily by the immediate
melting of the ice which had cause some sort of thermal shock that would help contribute
into the blast of fire.
I can see Todoroki in the future mastering his quirk to where he's doing things like
messing with thermal shock in his fights.
Todoroki is a strong character and I hope to see a lot more of him in the future, I
also hope that those waiting on Season 3 for the anime that's coming out in April read
up on the manga a bit.
So, this is where I'm going to talk about a manga feat.
If you guys don't want to be spoiled, have a good day, follow my twitter and twitch,
and I'll see you all in the next one.
Now, for the manga feat.
It doesn't seem like much, but it's during the School Trip Arc where the villains are
coming through and attacking the students on their trip.
This must be Todoroki's largest blast of ice, and this is done in a life-threatening
situation against Mr. Compress.
My thing is that Todoroki hasn't gone out of his way before to do something as large
as this due to the situations he's been in.
The other blasts were in areas where you would want to keep damage on a low-scale to not
affect any places of importance or residence.
Since this was happening in the forest, this is Todoroki giving a lot of what he has in
that instance.
While I'm not sure how much time it took to create this ice and what it looks like
as a whole, different parts of the manga keep it in the background which makes me think
it's going to be shown off more when it comes to the anime, so I'll be waiting on
that.
If you guys want to see another character to be featured, leave a comment.
Until then I'm going to be reading up even further, so I hope you guys enjoyed that all.
If you want to support the official release or you're interested in things like Jojo,
Yu Yu Hakusho, or even video game stuff that I would recommend you can check out my Amazon
store where if I see myself getting it, I'm adding on the list as a recommendation.
If interested you can join my discord, that's where you can probably find some people that
share the same interests in anime or games.
Follow me on twitter if you haven't, because I don't really bring it up on videos and
you can follow me on twitch if you want to see me play some games, I recently finished
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland and I'm going on to Kirby and The Amazing Mirror next.
I'll see you guys in the next one.
Until then peace out and God speed.
