I Got Heckled By A Comedian For A Day - Duration: 6:09.
How long have you been in a cult?
What's it like to be a Chia human?
You look like you could stick your finger in a socket
without having stuck your finger in a socket.
(upbeat music)
I volunteered to let a comedian heckle me
all day tomorrow.
He's gonna come to my house.
He's gonna wake me up.
He's gonna spend all day with me.
I'm kinda looking forward to it 'cause I like company,
but I also feel like it might get really annoying,
especially if his jokes are bad.
My name is J. Chris Newberg and I've been a comedian
for 18 years.
Throughout my career, I've been heckled from time to time,
but I've never had the joy and pleasure
of heckling someone back.
I volunteered to do this because I think I have really
thick skin and I like good comedy.
I imagine he'll just be like, observing what I do
and making fun of it.
I can't imagine it could get that personal because
how would he know anything about me?
I've never met this guy.
I've done some extensive research on Jordan.
I've looked online at his Facebook and Instagram
and Twitter profiles.
I've talked to his friends.
I've talked to his coworkers.
I've talked to his ex-girlfriend.
I'm comin' at him.
I'm not really sure how I'm going to feel,
'cause I hate everything hecklers represent.
I'm gonna try to be mean,
but I'm not a mean person.
But, fuck him.
It's 7:53 in the morning.
I found Jordan's place.
I'm with Kelly.
She's a producer at Buzzfeed.
She's gonna be followin' me.
We're outside
his apartment.
It's pretty good so far.
It's uh, pretty dirty.
I don't understand the science of this decor.
Like, what girl doesn't come in here,
see this,
and then just leap right off the balcony?
Here's Jordan killing it,
from when he played a young Carrot Top.
I wonder which one of those socks are his girlfriend.
- [Jordan] Hello.
Hey buddy.
(laughs) Super excited to be here
with the third baseman of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Dude, I don't even know who the third baseman is
of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Look in the mirror, buddy.
So, what's it like to be the body double for sadness?
People do say I have resting sad face.
So, I heard you and your girlfriend just broke up.
True. Good for her.
Damn, getting some--
Gettin' deep. Yeah, and you're
putting on your girlfriends. What?
You'll understand later.
How long have you played bass for Mumford and Sons?
You're flossing on the day that you're going to the dentist.
Isn't that like cleaning your house before you have
a cleaning lady come over?
Which, obviously, has never happened.
So, you're putting product in right now?
Mmhmm. That's cool.
How long have you been a before model?
You're like the most handsome of all the Keebler elves.
We're going to the dentist.
You're gonna let him drill ya?
Well, hopefully not. (playful music)
Hopefully, I won't need any drillings.
Maybe just some poking.
Minimal poking, hopefully.
That's cool.
That was my nickname in high school.
Do you find that you're on Tinder most of the time
during sex?
What are your favorite dating apps?
Tinder is the tried and true.
What's your opening line usually, on Tinder?
I don't use repeat opening lines
'cause I think that's insincere.
I use their profiles to come up with opening lines.
What was your favorite that you've ever used?
Oh man, I had a really good one recently.
It didn't get a response and I was bummed about it.
Her profile just said I like people, places, and things.
And, I said, what you got against adjectives?
They probably have very nice things to say about you.
I thought that was pretty good.
It's weird that that didn't get a response.
So, do you still talk to Harry Potter?
Do you get sad when some of your personalities
won't talk to you?
Would you fuck yourself for money?
A-ha-ha-ha-ha, you suck at parking.
So, I've got my first break from getting heckled,
and so far he hasn't gotten under my skin.
Nice guy, I like him.
- [J. Chris] Any final words before they tell you
that you have nine cavities?
I'm really hopin' they don't tell me that.
You're doing so good, Jordan.
(instrument motor running) Hopefully, they'll give you
a little plaque.
What'd you have for lunch?
I had like a chicken pita thing.
It's so hard to be mean to you.
It's just so hard, because everything
that you do is just nice.
Like, there's nothing weird about
having a chicken pita for lunch.
I'm at Jordan's desk now at Buzzfeed.
So, seriously, what happens in the finale
of Game of Thrones?
Dude, you know we're not allowed to talk about that.
I'm here also with Destiny,
his desk neighbor.
What's it like bein' around Jordan all day?
He's a great guy.
Really nice, really quiet.
Kinda sits to himself. No, I said Jordan.
Gettin' ready to go down to the Laugh Factory from The Den.
Gonna get on stage and do some jokes,
and Jordan is gonna heckle me like I've heckled him all day.
Hey, what's up.
How's is goin'?
I'm in pretty good shape.
I'm in really good spirits.
I've lost a lot of weight, ever since I quit--
Is that the shirt you picked?
(playful music)
Did you just pick up the first t-shirt off the floor
that you'd already worn like three times,
and decide, that's the shirt for my set?
(playful music) Uh, yes, actually.
That's what I did.
I decided that.
I asked this girl out once,
and she was like, all right, cool.
But, I want you to know one thing: I'm in AA.
I was like, all right, that's cool,
then you can drive,
'cause I'm gonna get hammered.
I bet she still didn't text you back.
Do you ever notice that sitting down and standing up
sounds a lot like sex?
'Cause you're always like,
oh my god!
It makes sense that you have no idea what sex sounds like.
Aren't you sitting in a booth alone?
Yeah.
I just childproofed my house,
and by that I mean I purchased condoms.
Tell a funny joke. (playful music)
You're all about not laughing at your shit joke?
(laughing)
- [Kelly] So, do you guys feel closer now?
I definitely think that he should answer that first.
Because he knew all these things about me,
and was sort of like digging at them,
I felt like a certain closeness.
Like, oh this person knows me,
and then, throughout the day spending the day together,
I felt like we sort of had a mutual understanding
that we're both going through this experience together.
I think the most frustrating thing
about heckling a nice guy is,
you kinda feel like an a-hole,
because you don't really mean it.
It's like, here's this nice person,
who's just going about their day,
and they're at the dentist and I'm like a-ha, you suck!
I would definitely hang out with you
in real life. Yeah.
I think that'd be fun.
I would do it as long as I didn't have to
come to your apartment.

Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction: 2017 National Book Festival - Duration: 18:07.
>> From the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
>> Robert Newlen: I want to welcome you
to the 17th National Book Festival.
It's hard to believe 17, and I've been around for all of them.
Today we open the fiction pavilion by following tradition,
with a ceremony bestowing this year's Library
of Congress prize in American fiction.
However, before I start, I want to recognize Marie Arana.
Marie has made invaluable contributions to American letters,
both as coordinator of this prize,
and one of the driving forces behind the National Book Festival.
This incredible program that we see today is with great thanks to Marie.
A gifted and highly praised writer, and scholar in her own right,
Marie brings passion and a generous spirit to everything she does,
and it is a real privilege to work with her.
Marie, will you please stand?
[ Applause ]
So, let me tell you a little bit about the prize.
It's meant to honor an American literary writer whose body
of work is distinguished not only for its mastery of the art,
but also for its originality of thought and imagination.
The award seeks to commend strong, unique, enduring voices
that throughout long, consistently accomplished careers have told us
something about the American experience.
Previous winners of the prize include Don DeLilo, E.L. Doctorow,
Louise Erdrich, Toni Morrison, Philip Roth,
and last year, Marilynne Robinson.
For 2017, the Library of Congress and its distinguished jury
of 27 writers and critics
from around the world selected Denis Johnson for this honor.
Last March the Librarian of Congress, Dr. Hayden,
offered the prize to Mr. Johnson, and he enthusiastically accepted.
It was the last major honor he was
to receive before his tragic death on May 24th.
Today we pay homage to his life and work,
with some very special guests reading citations from just a few
of Johnson's fellow writers and admirers.
First though, let's begin with a video tribute to our prizewinner.
>> Marie Arana: English words are like prisms, empty.
Nothing inside.
And still, they make rainbows.
So says a character in Already Dead, a novel by the late,
great American writer Denis Johnson.
Johnson's stories, as legions of his fans know, are also prisms.
They are hard, merciless, flinty, and yet they too make rainbows.
He has been called a writer's writer's writer.
And, for all the enigma of that string of words,
they hold a simple truth.
Those who bring language to life recognize Johnson's gifts instantly.
Louise Erdrich calls his work profound and transcendent.
Jonathan Franzen finds his sentences miracles of transparency and tone.
Philip Roth calls him daring, terrifying, and an emissary
for tortured, broken souls.
Marilynne Robinson marvels that a writer's personal passions
and energies can be so inextricably wedded to his words.
All agree Denis Johnson has managed to give us minimalist,
yet distinctly ecstatic and hallucinatory, rainbow prose.
He is an American original.
He was born in 1949 in Munich, Germany, and raised in Tokyo
and Manila, the child of American diplomats.
As a teenager, moving back to Washington,
D.C. during the tumultuous '60's, he came to know the country
and the restless characters he would capture so vividly in his fiction.
He graduated in English literature from the University of Iowa,
and earned an M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers Workshop,
where he returned as a teacher.
He has also taught at Texas State University,
and the University of Texas at Austin.
In the course of his fevered career, he published novels,
short stories, journalism, and poetry.
Among his best-known works are those about the flotsam
and jetsam of American life.
The Laughing Monsters.
Nobody Move.
Tree of Smoke.
Already Dead.
Jesus' Son.
Resuscitation of a Hanged Man.
The Stars at Noon.
Fiskadoro.
Angels. He's received numerous award for these,
including a National Book Award, a Lannan Fellowship in Fiction,
a Writing Writers award, and in 2008,
he was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
Throughout he has chronicled an America
that has gone unobserved, unrecorded.
Here are our drug addicts, our war veterans, our disaffected,
our used up and left behind.
And yet, the most affecting and rewarding aspect
of Denis Johnson's fiction is that in work after work,
he has proved that beauty often lurks in unexpected places.
That strength can be found in failure.
That the human spirit is a fragile, but resilient vessel.
His is a very American story.
He once described his works as pressure cookers of language.
His characters as those who inhabit life's perilous edge.
As time wore on, he found that he himself was all too vulnerable
to these human frailties.
When the Librarian of Congress,
Carla Hayden offered Denis Johnson the Library of Congress Prize
for American Fiction in March of 2017, he wrote in an email message,
"My head is spinning from such great news."
Two months later, tragically, he was dead.
The Library is very proud to honor, posthumously,
this extraordinary human being and writer, whose contributions
to the American canon have been lasting and invaluable.
As the Librarian wrote when the prize was announced in June 2017,
Denis Johnson was a writer for our times.
In prose that fused grace with grit, he spun tale after tale
about our walking wounded,
the demons that haunt, the salvation we seek.
We emerge from his imagined world with profound empathy,
a different perspective-- a little changed.
We're very proud to count Denis Johnson among the distinguished
winners of the Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction.
[ Music ]
[ Applause ]
As you can see, he was a towering figure in letters,
and I hope that we send out the word for more readers
for Denis Johnson's work.
We received at the Library of Congress right away,
upon Denis' death, pleas, really from so many writers,
and so many people around the world who were familiar with his work,
and who were in publishing or who were writers themselves,
wanting to give citations for this moment, for this ceremony.
So, we are going to read a few of those citations.
To help me do that, is the publisher at Random House,
Susan Kamil, who's a great friend.
Let's give her a hand.
[ Applause ]
Thank you, Susan, for coming from New York.
And, also Sam Nicholson,
who was Denis Johnson's editor, also of Random House.
[ Applause ]
We'll just start in.
This is from Philip Roth.
"When I was asked to nominate a writer for this year's Library
of Congress Prize for American Fiction, I did so in eight words.
'My sole nominee is the great Denis Johnson.'
Johnson brought news from the darkest, wildest depths
of American life, as Mark Twain did in chapters of Huckleberry Finn,
and Faulkner in a slew of novels.
From the moment I began reading his terrifying first novel, Angels,
I felt the strength, and his daring, and recognized his place
of eminence among those of brilliant American predecessors
for whom desperation and savagery were depicted
with searing originality in a prose style uniquely evocative
of the broken souls, each brought remorselessly into tortured being.
There was no one like him, tracking the descent of what he called,
in Already Dead, isolated minds bending
around tightly, to feed on themselves."
>> Susan Kamil: And, this from Louise Erdrich.
"Denis Johnson's are the rarest sort of books,
works of radical human sympathy,
written with cliff-walking literary genius.
His books involve us in the implosion of the spirit,
and the fragility of personal salvation.
Johnson's work lays bare our faltering human glory and shame.
From the stirring, surreal incantation that is Train Dreams,
to the meticulous hyperreality of Tree of Smoke,
his reach will always be profound.
Although I never had the chance to meet him,
I mourn Denis Johnson's loss personally,
as a reader and fellow writer.
I'm glad he took pleasure in receiving this grand recognition.
Everyone who reads Denis Johnson comes away thinking he has spoken
directly to some wracked and ragged, yet transcendent,
aspect of their own secret heart.
>> Sam Nicholson: From Jonathan Franzen.
"You can tell he started as a poet.
His sentences, at their best, are miracles of transparency and tone.
Perfect in the way they inhabit the page,
but devoid of vanity about their perfection.
Always vivid in their reference to the actual,
but also always conveying something larger.
Their creator's own self-knowledge and compassion,
and sense of cosmic comedy."
>> Marie Arana: And this from Marilynne Robinson.
"I have never known a writer who was so identical with his work,
whose thoughts and passions and energies were so entirely
of one substance with the world he remade as fiction.
The great energy of his imagination was a fusion of honesty
and seriousness, pain and laughter.
His life was a thing of moment and urgency.
Pure and undistracted."
>> Susan Kamil: And this from Zadie Smith.
"No writer was more admired by his peers than Denis Johnson.
His thousands of readers adored him too, of course,
but for writers there was an added layer of professional awe.
How does one go about writing a book as luminous as Train Dreams?
How were the stories of Jesus' Son constructed, with their seamless mix
of the sacred and profane?
So much of Denis' fiction reads like apocrypha
from some long-suppressed American bible.
I loved it all.
He worked at a level different from the rest of us.
A true master."
>> Sam Nicholson: From Nathan Englander.
"I fell in love with Denis Johnson's writing in the purest way possible.
Someone, I can't remember who, gave me a Xeroxed copy of the first story
in Jesus' Son, Car Crash While Hitchhiking.
If you look at the book, you'll see Denis Johnson's name is absent
from the margins.
And, not even the whole title of the story is there.
So, I read what I thought was called Car Crash,
a standalone story by an anonymous author.
I was instantly blown away.
Deeply moved by it, and then, in the way good reading makes you feel
like your connection to it was faded, I soon ended up with a copy
of the collection in which the story appears.
I was living in Iowa City at the time, and this book, for my friends
and me, became sort of a young writers bible.
We marveled at those stripped-down, honest stories
that contained all the bigness of great work.
And, as young writers we thought, this is the kind
of thing that could be done.
We took hope away from the work, is what I'm saying,
and we found hope inside those stories as well.
In Car Crash While Hitchhiking, the narrator ends up back
in detox and at rock bottom.
He's hearing voices, seeing things,
and acknowledging his pitiable state,
he addresses us, his dear readers.
He says quite frankly, 'and you, you ridiculous people,
you expect me to help you.'
Yes. We did.
We expected it and will continue to expect it,
as we return to those stories and novels and essays and poems,
to mine all the help within."
>> Marie Arana: And now, for the ceremony itself, Robert,
would you come back and confer the prize?
>> Robert Newlen: Thank you, Marie, Susan, and Sam for your commitment
to our prize winner and his work.
I would now like to officially bestow the prize.
Denis Johnson's widow, Cindy, could not be with us today,
and has asked that Johnson's agent,
Nicole Aragi, accept it in her place.
Nicole, could you please come to the stage?
Nicole, on behalf of the Librarian of Congress,
I'm pleased to award the 2017 Library of Congress Prize
in American Fiction to Denis Johnson.
Please accept this crystal commemorating the prize.
>> Nicole Aragi: Thank you.
[ Applause ]
OK. As you'll see, Denis had a healthy skepticism of authority,
institutions, and praise of any sort.
But, deep down, I know he was proud to receive this anyway.
I'm receiving this on behalf of Denis Johnson's wife, Cindy Lee.
Denis was honored when he heard he'd been chosen for this award.
He said yes, and then immediately began stewing over it.
By the time Marie Arana called in early May, he had made a decision.
He told her, I don't want some old white guy winning this award during
the Trump administration.
[ Laughter ]
I'm glad you're laughing.
I'm sure Marie was flabbergasted.
I know I was.
Even after 28 years together, he could still surprise me.
In the days that followed, I made my case.
I argued that presidents come and go,
while the Library of Congress abides.
And, I insisted that his singular talent deserved to be recognized
by such a noble American institution.
Denis was unmoved.
The only caveat I could get out of him was his belief that the Library
of Congress has the right to give their award to anyone they choose.
Everyone is gathered here today
because Denis Johnson was an extraordinary writer,
and because he defended freedom, even when he didn't approve of it.
[inaudible]
[ Applause ]
>> Robert Newlen: Nicole, we have a gift from the Library of Congress.
This is a notebook of all the citations-- excuse me--
of the tributes that we heard today and others,
and we knew the Johnson family would want
to have a permanent copy of this.
So, we present it to you.
>> Nicole Aragi: Thank you.
Thank you.
[ Applause ]
Thank you so much.
I've lost it.
I've lost his award.
[ Applause ]
>> Robert Newlen: Nicole, thank you so much.
And, thanks to all of you who have joined us in remembering one
of America's greatest writers.
We at the Library are also thankful we had the opportunity
to award him our highest honor in fiction,
and we hope you will help us keep his work alive into the future.
We also hope you will take the opportunity to hear the wealth
of other voices we have here today at the National Book Festival,
a testament to the power of writing.
Thank you so much.

loves fashion here's some great gift ideas for her this holiday season so
let's get to it
Hi everybody if this is your first time here I'm Lucy
with love from Lucy I'm a new blogger/ youtuber and I do all fashion related

new brands, gift ideas, packing tips, all stuff fashion related. I work in the fashion
industry as a buyer so I'm just sharing my love and my knowledge with
you. So if this is your first time here please consider subscribing it means the
absolute world to me if you to join me on my youtube journey. So let's get to it
I'm gonna start with my first gift idea so all these gift ideas are for women
and if she loves fashion and then she's gonna be really into these so this is my
first gorgeous gift idea so this is a cute little box bag from free people I'm
gonna leave the links to everything I showed you down in the comments below
and I'll also leave some other ideas I'll leave a few links under each column
solid bags and similar ones to this etc so you can pick the one you want within
the price range or go for so this is from Free People is so cute that is all
embroidered and it's kind of like squishy it's stunning it's metallicky
it's like pinky purple orange in tones so very autumnal but perfect in the
summer as well the best idea thing about a bag buying that as a gift for a
fashion loving person is you have to know their size which is great so it
does have a longer strap inside which you can attach on other tips which I'm
just going to do it attaches on and then it makes it set in your shoulder and
just a little bit longer or you can pack those up and put the back inside and
just have it by the handle it's got a little pouch in here and it's just a
really great size M I'm don't mind a big bag but when I especially on a night out
or going to lunch with my friends I just want something a little bit smaller and
this is the perfect size it just does up like
done this is from Free People and I'll give you the link down below for this so
the next thing I'm gonna show you are these gorgeous leopard print boots these
are so in trend right now they are quite an out-there thing to buy um and if
she's into shoes and heels she's gonna think you'd literally know her so well
if you can't have something like these these are from River Island but I'll
give you a link for a couple of similar ones down below I'll be able to give you
a link down below for maybe some not prints of gorgeous red ones which is
super interim right now as well but these are my favorite boots right now
leopard prim not too high on the hill gorgeous love these so the next thing
I'm going to show you is this gorgeous faux fur jacket it is faux fur I'm
personally completely against real fur so I would only ever purchase fake fur
this is a light blue color and you can also catch this in my Zara haul lookbook
Zara this season I've done a video and I cos are a lookbook whole Tryon video so
you can see it a bit more detail there as well
it is gorgeous it's cropped long sleeves it's the softest coat ever and just keep
her so warm so the next thing is another pair of shoes it is some knee-high boots
they are the best winter essential you can ever buy her getting a shoe size
it's gonna be a little bit easier to get that secretly there may be a dress size
if you're not sure because you can it just pick up a pair of shoes and see
what size they are on the bottom these are black knee-high ones they do have a
heel these are from I believe they're from misguided but I'll again I'll leave
a few links down below for you so good so easy they just go with everything
there's such an easy thing to buy and if she hasn't really got a self a pair I'm
sure she'll be wanting to get herself a pair you can also get flat ones if she's
not a heel lover so next I've got this gorgeous fur faux fur bag it's from peep
free people as well it's a bucket bag of bucket bags are so in right now and it's
such a cool statement piece I think I'm you're getting present to someone page
10 she wanted to be something quite special but also not break the bank and
none of these things will break the bank at all that all vary for different price
ranges but all of the way under 100 pounds
this is so cute as faux fur is the softest bag effort it's from free people
I'll leave a link down below for this it's got the shorter strap and the
longer strap it's actually the bag I am currently using so it's got all my stuff
in it and I've obsessed with this bag I can't confidence on it all the time and
again a good thing about a bag if you don't you know that dress size she's not
into heels which a lot of people aren't into I don't wear heels often I have a
trainers girl and these are my added us Superstars they are probably my favorite
pair of trainers I own they are such a classic staple such an easy thing to get
your fashion loving girlfriend boyfriend and wife sister whoever it may be
brother dad whatever these are so cute and again and it'll be easy to find out
a shoe size and potentially a dress so I say my jacket it's a little bit easier
to maybe figure out what the size they might want especially if it's a small
medium large so so cute so those are another idea and last but not least is
this gorgeous black blazer so Blazers are really in right now and I have gone
to show you a black one I'm also going to show a checked versions down the
links below because they are really in as well right now I personally have a
black one white heads teamed up with my checkered trousers so it doesn't have
and it's got real pockets there I cannot bear a jacket which doesn't have actual
pockets that is my pet hate so it's got real pockets. really easy simple purchases.
they're great ideas and she'll think you're so in the know and there's no fuss.
well so I really hope these ideas helped if you have any questions don't be
afraid to ask me in the comment box below, please remember to hit
subscribe it means the absolute world to me and thank you so much for watching my
video and I'll see you again very very soon lots of love bye xxx

ERP Solution for Professional Services Organizations - Duration: 2:20.
Hello, my name is Laura McDowell. I am a
registered CPA with the State of Washington, and I'm a Sage Intacct
Consultant with the Resource Group. Today I want to talk to you about Sage Intacct
as an ERP solution for professional services organizations. Now,
there's two major areas in terms of data visibility that I see Sage Intacct
resolving and completely addressing these two pain points. One is just straight up
data visibility, in terms of reporting and insights. Just today,
I was working with a client that needed to see their expenses by project,
and they have no way, no major report that they were able to do this with.
On the fly and in less than an hour, I was able to work with them to get them a
corporate level report that showed in a financial-based presentation all the
expenses in the GL accounts and all of those expenses by project laid out,
you could drill down from directly within your report browser back to the general
ledger entry, back to that journal entry, and back to the source transaction,
which was really cool. We also built sort of an end user, more lower level report
for their purchasing and accounting clerks that showed exactly grouped by project,
the individual expense in purchasing line items that were rolling into each one of
those GL accounts by project. Again, that took less than an hour,
really easy on the phone. With Intacct being a cloud-based ERP solution,
I could have people on the East Coast entering data and instantly show up in a

Overwatch Moira Guide : Basic In-Depth Guide for Ability Usage and Team Tips | OverwatchDojo - Duration: 11:59.
Hey there!
This video is a basic in-depth guide to Moira.
The idea is to get you a headstart in this character and show you the strengths and weaknesses
of the hero, as well as some tips about the best ways to use her kit and to cooperate
with your team.
Let's do this!
Hello guys and welcome to the dojo!
This guide is made for you to have better control with Moira and gain a deeper understanding
of her basics and usage in your competitive matches, as well as some general knowledge
that you should have when Moira is in your or the enemy team.
All our guides are written by the dojo team, high-level Overwatch players with a lot of
competitive experience in both this game and previous esport titles.
However Moira is a special case, as we have a top 500 support and competitive gamer amongst
our midsts, and his thoughts of the character are deeply woven into the content of this
video, to make sure that you get the best overview that we can provide.
We usually start by understanding each and every ability of the hero in our guides.
This is to make sure you know exactly how the skills work with every small detail that
could come up.
Even if you don't intend to play Moira, it will do you good to know what exactly is
going on when she is around.
Moira's basic attack, biotic grasp is a unique dual resource ability.
The left hand gives healing to allies as a yellow beam heal multiple teammates in a cone,
while the right hand can lock onto a single enemy as a purple beam to siphon health away
from the target, charging the healing resource and giving back health to Moira in the same
time.
You can tell which effect of her abilities is in use by the colors that you can see.
The range of the abilities is 15 meters for healing and 20 meters for damaging.
The animations are a little bit misleading because they seem to be shorter than that,
however, the distance she gives you is a lot of space to play with your basic attacks.
It is usually a safe distance to spray your healing or lock onto a single enemy from behind
your front liners.
The healing of biotic grasp heals your allies in a line for around 80 heal per second in
a wide, area of effect beam.
This is a LOS based ability, meaning that shields and barriers will block its effect.
There are 3 important things to keep in mind when using it:
It can heal more than one person if you position yourself well.
It depletes over time and recharges really slowly on its own, so you will need to attack
with the biotic grasp to make her work well.
The healing has an overcharge effect, meaning that the healing persists after you end the
beam for 50 health in 3 seconds.
If you need to conserve your healing resource, it is a good idea to just briefly spray on
your allies to heal up when the situation is not hot.
It's recommended to preserve the resources with this ability.
When entering a team fight, your allies will be really happy to have the overcharge effect
on them for a few seconds, and this way you can secure a lot of extra healing power.
The damage part of the biotic grasp will charge your healing resource, give you unavoidable
damage without the need to reload and locks on to the target like Symmetra's beam.
You need to track the enemy well because if your crosshair leaves the target, the ability
will be canceled.
Abusing the range of the ability, you should always be in your backline healing and looking
for opportunities to lock onto an unsuspecting enemy and sap health away from them.
The range allows you to help with hard to reach enemies, or to do sustained damage to
someone who is nearly dead.
When you get into a hot situation and you fight for your life up close, it's important
to keep the crosshair on the enemy while dodging excessively.
The regen you get helps you to stay alive even against DPS heroes who can not disable
or one-shot you easily.
. Your teammates will thank you for spraying them instead of trying to be their DPS.
Alright, continuing with her abilities, next up is the biotic orb.
This ability is really interesting both in its usage and effect.
When you hit the ability key, you have a choice to use the orb for healing or damage.
Both modes will create a ball that travels through shields and character models, slightly
faster than Symmetra's orbs.
The cooldown is instant when you cast the ability, and you need to wait 10 seconds to
be able to use it again.
The ball will bounce from the walls and disappear once depleted (more about that in a sec) or
the cooldown of the ability recharges.
It also slows down when connecting to its target (friend for healing and foe for damage),
to do more work on them, and disconnects to speed up again when it leaves the effective
range, or the target is full in case of healing or dead in case of damaging.
The orb will of course travel forth and even bounce in the slowed-down state, but at a
fraction of the initial velocity.
This can be used to ensure that you give the right amount of care to your target, whether
it is heal or damage.
Both versions of the orbs are the most effective in closed areas.
While it may seem tempting to try to calculate the bouncing trajectory of your orbs, it will
usually go wrong and you will be sitting there empty.
We recommend using them as simply as possible, going straight to your target and maybe keeping
the first bounce in mind, but that's all.
The only exception is when you fight in a really small room.
You can use the walls to bounce the orb back and forth to maximize the damage or healing.
The biotic orb can also be used to help or harass far away targets.
You can give a hand from afar to a teammate trying to contest the high ground, or harass
the enemy sniper with a well-placed orb.
The orbs can be countered by a deflecting Genji or a D.Va matrix.
They can also, at this point in time, be absorbed by Mei walls.
Enemy or Friendly.
So the healing orb has 300 charges and will heal allies with a rate of 75 heal per second.
You can see if it connects with an ally because small tethers will spawn from the ball towards
the friendly hero.
When combined with your healing grasp, these two abilities will deal 140 heals per second,
out-performing any healing ability in the game except Zenyatta's transcendence.
That's a lot of yellow healing goodness.
Regarding the placement, there are two really good scenarios that you should look for:
Wait for your team to group and go in.
This will usually happen with your tanks in front, DPS in the middle, supports in the
back.
A lined up team makes a good target for your healing orb.
Make sure to wait for some damage to occur and launch the orb towards the frontline for
maximum effectiveness.
If your team is fighting in a closed area, just bounce the balls around using the walls.
You should use the orb for pushes and retreats.
It is really important to have someone already damaged, or the healing ball will just pass
through your team, not giving any healing to your teammates.
Also worth noting that the orb can be used to heal allies who are far away.
However keep in mind that if you are damaged, the orb will slow down and connect to you
first, possibly missing the target that you wanted to help.
Fading away does not help with this, as the ball will still connect to you.
The damaging orb does a maximum of 200 damage then it fades away.
The rate of fire is 50 damage per second.
As with the basic attack, it is really important to keep in mind that you are a healer and
not a damage dealer.
While siphoning the life away from the helpless enemies can seem tempting, you should always
focus on healing, that's what you do better.
The healing orb does more raw help than the damaging one, prioritize that in team fights.
The damage orb can be used to poke at remote enemies.
It is also a really nice tool to farm your ultimate when the enemy is clutched.
This ability has quickly become one of our favorite match starting ability as defenders
because hurling it into the attacker's spawn room will guarantee a 10% ultimate charge
right away.
This ability can also be used to munch anyone's health when in a 1v1 situation.
Recommended using against enemies with sustained low damage, like Winston or an Enemy Moira.
Next up is Moira's movement ability, fade.
Activating this ability makes Moira invisible and untargetable, greatly increasing her movement
speed for a short period of time.
While faded, she cannot be healed by targeted abilities, but her own orb, health packs and
other AOE abilities that replenish her health can.
Fade is your movement and escape ability as Moira.
It has a 6-second cooldown, so you should be better safe than sorry, use it whenever
you need to move around or dodge something.
Apart from escaping lethal damage, it can be used to quickly disengage from enemies,
to change your position for more effective healing during team fights, or to get close
to a priority target and help in hunting them down.
Like Reaper's wraith form, it can be activated to avoid certain abilities and ultimates in
the game.
Timing it right can leave a Junkrat hanging, blowing off the ultimate just when you faded.
You can also escape from Zarya's grav with this ability at any time during the grav.
It is important to note that this is not a teleport, but a burst of speed that you get.
The momentum that you gain can be preserved and used to jump farther or to change directions
in the air.
Her ultimate ability coalescence can be activated to create a 30m long channeled beam that does
healing to your allies and damage at the same time.
The healing is 140 health per second to allies, also giving you 50 hps health regeneration.
The damage is 70 DPS.
It works like Zarya's beam, fires in a straight line, follows the crosshair and has no delay
when changing directions, but penetrates all allies and enemies, applying the effects to
all of them at once.
You will gain speed when using the ultimate, floating above the ground during the 8-second
duration.
It's important to keep in mind that this is a channeled ability, meaning that you won't
be able to use anything else and you can be interrupted by hack or stuns.
While the ultimate seems fancy, it is not a game changer.
Thus you should use it as frequently as possible to increase your chances to win your next
team fight.
As with all other abilities, prioritize healing over doing damage.
With the increased speed, you can position yourself to places where you can heal and
do damage at the same time.
When going for the enemies, keep in mind that your DPS is not high, however, your range
is huge.
Hunting down low health enemies is worth it, but don't try to take an ulting pharmercy
down.
The ultimate also penetrates shields, so you can get to the whole enemy team with it.
Moira is a close-range healer with great potential, however, she is not able to take the role
of the solo heal.
You will be a lot more comfortable to have double supports with Moira instead of trying
to count on her ability to sustain the whole team.
That being said, she works the best with slow-moving death-ball comps and will have a really hard
time sustaining dive compositions.
Not only it is hard to reach allies when they are jumping into the enemy team, you will
lack protection to reposition yourself or even to reach the objective safely.
As will all supports, you need to be on your toes and continuously look for the best positions
to heal your team and sneak some damage in as well.
All that is good and well, but your main concern should be staying alive before everything
else.
Use a biotic orb quickly and fade away to make sure you are alive and your allies can
heal up if they make it back to you.
Try to play around your tanks, use them for protection, and never let them move too far
away from you.
This will ensure their sustain and your well being.
Your combined healing power is really spectacular and can be used to save allies at the edge
of death.
Your biotic grasp is the most valuable thing here, but don't forget to use the orb as
well.
When someone is really low, avoid the orb and just go for raw healing, it has more HPS.
You are the most effective if your team is grouped, try to stick together.
Your ultimate works better this way as well.
Don't forget to .

Azure Friday | Using Web App for Containers in a Multi-Tier Application - Duration: 12:57.
Hi, I'm Scott Hanselman, this is another episode of Azure Friday.
I'm here with Ahmed Elnably, how are you, sir?
>> Good, how are you, Scott?
>> I am very well, you have brought me a gift.
You've brought me the developer finder GitHub project.
>> Yes, so last September we actually G8 Web App for
containers, for app service in Linux, and
we wanted to showcase what you can build with it.
How we can build, for example, a multi-container app, or
how you can hook up App Insights to your custom container.
>> Cool.
>> So the GitHub app itself is on our GitHub Azure-App-Service,
and you can go and fork it.
We open sourced it,
we basically would like people to help us building it more.
We have our own version that's on www.devfinder.net,
and I'll show a quick demo of that.
And also talk quickly about the architecture and
how we did stuff.
>> A lot of times when we see sample apps,
they're hello, world.
They're simple, they're not even multi-tier, it's just like,
here's my hello, world in a container.
This is a little more sophisticated.
>> This is a more sophisticated one, we have a front end using
Angular JS, back end using Python.
Another container that does chat using Ruby.
We use Azure functions for
piping out all the App Insights, and logic apps for SMS.
>> Did you go thinking,
I'm gonna use all these different things?
Or did you just go to make a solution and
you found that you would use different things?
>> So at the beginning we wanted to have a cool idea, so
we want to have like a social network for developers.
Where developers can find each other to go and
build cool stuff, even more cooler than this one.
And the idea is we started like, okay,
we need people to chat with each other.
We need back ends, we need databases.
So we went with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
We want somewhere to put our containers, so
we went with Azure Container Registry.
And we want somewhere to run our containers,
that are like Web App containers.
>> The obvious thing, and was it easy to make it like
continuous integration, continuous deployment?
>> Yeah, so we use VSTS, and you just hook it with GitHub.
And whenever there's a change, it actually pushes a new version
and your app is up and running in minutes.
>> Cool, well show me what you got.
>> Yeah so, this is our GitHub Repo.
This is basically when you go through devfinder.net,
it asks you to login with GitHub or LinkedIn.
So I already logged in before, so it has my cookie for GitHub,
so it should log in pretty easy.
And then because this is my first time to actually connect
to it, so I'll connect also my LinkedIn profile.
So it will ask me for access to my information,
I'll just give it access.
Basically we go and
get all the information about you from LinkedIn and GitHub,
everything that's allowed for the public APIs.
>> I see, so you're in your profile now,
and it's pulled in your GitHub profile and your LinkedIn
connections, so both of your social is connected.
>> Exactly. >> Cool.
>> Exactly, and we're using the Python social auth library.
So extending this to basically go to Facebook or
Twitter should be easy.
>> That's cool.
>> Again, you can add your programming skills,
your phone number to set up SMS.
But then I can also go and search for people.
I actually have a number of our friends on our team.
So I'll go search for Lukasz, he's actually one of our
developers, he's passionate about CLI.
So I can go and actually chat with him,
And basically I'll try to convince him,
let's work on a nice CLI command.
And basically, he will get a notification, and
he can reply to me.
And other than that, we can also friend each other and
basically exchange contacts, and doing work on Epix.
>> So this is the Angular front end?
>> This is actually the Ruby chat.
>> The Ruby part, so walk me through the stack here, so
the front end, the chat is in Ruby.
>> Yes, so I actually have an architectural diagram.
>> Fantastic.
>> Yeah, so we pulled from LinkedIn and GitHub,
we have one container that has the front end and back end.
Nginx is the proxy root that we're using, Angular, and
the back end is Python.
And running it are Web App for containers.
And the back end is basically the shared API, and
we talk through an API.
I think you're right, this was the Angular, but
it's talking through an API.
>> Okay, the front end is Angular,
the back end is the chat app is Ruby?
>> Exactly. >> All right, cool.
>> And all the chat conversations are,
>> Stored?
>> Yeah, in PostgreSQL.
>> Cool.
>> Yeah, and we have MySQL for all the information about users,
and functions to get all the appetite.
>> And is all of this on Azure?
So it's PostgreSQL as a service on Azure,
MySQL as a service on Azure.
>> Exactly.
>> And I don't really think about Python and Ruby and
Django as being things you would see on Azure that often, but
because it's in containers on Linux, it works just great.
>> Exactly, you can put whatever you want in your container.
For example,
the main app has two different languages in the same container.
>> Really?
>> Yeah, so Node.js and Python.
>> Mm-hm, and you checked this code into GitHub,
into a specific branch, and then VSTS builds it and creates it?
>> Yeah, so I already forked the app, and
I can do actually Lukasz just replied.
>> Yeah, he replied, and that's real?
>> That's real, he's actually right now in the office and
replying to me.
>> That's cool.
>> So I can go and, for example, this is my fork.
I can go and edit, just quickly edit this.
>> Right, make a change.
Okay, so you're adding a banner?
>> Exactly.
>> All right.
>> And another one here, and another one here.
>> Right.
>> So I'll just submit the changes-
>> Directly to production?
>> Yeah, direct to production.
>> [LAUGH] I appreciate that.
>> We have documentation to basically tell you how to deploy
this, how to deploy it to slots and everything.
>> Okay, that's cool.
>> Again, if we go to our VSTS,
you can see my change has been picked up.
And a new build is being pushed right now.
>> Wow. >> So, right now, yeah.
It takes around four minutes to load.
>> And see, this is an important reminder,
cuz I'm all about open source.
And I try to tell people it's all about open source.
And sometimes you just need to see it happening.
You've got Python, you've got Ruby, you've got PostreSQL,
you've got MySQL.
It's being built here into containers with VSTS and
deployed into Azure.
>> Exactly. >> It's not the Windows cloud.
>> No, actually none of anything that we use are like this in
Microsoft.
>> Really? >> Yeah.
>> That's pretty slick.
So it's going and building that.
What is it building, it's building multiple containers?
>> Right now, this one is building the main app container,
and the chat container you can also build it.
We have that in instructions there, but
right now we are just using one from our local hub.
>> If I were gonna look at your GitHub and install this and
try it out myself, I would just need to have my connection
strings correct, because I'm using PostreSQL as a service?
>> Actually, you don't need anything from that.
We have documentation, we have a single ARM template that
will deploy everything for you.
>> Really, so that's another good reminder,
is that there's containers which solve a deployment problem.
But then there's ARM templates that also solve
a deployment problem.
>> Yep, yeah.
>> How long did it take to make this?
>> So it took me 15 minutes to completely build it and have
a custom domain SSL certificate to bring it up and running.
>> I hope it didn't take 15 minutes to write though,
probably a couple weeks?
>> No, almost three weeks.
>> Three weeks, that's very cool.
So where can I go to see all of this?
>> Yeah so if you go to Azure-App-Service, and
I actually have aka.ms links for this.
>> Okay, cool, so take a screen shot now,
because we've got aka.ms/devfinder.
>> Devfinder, this is where all our GitHub and
all our source code.
You can go and party as much as you want.
>> Now the one that's building right now,
will that container go live and
then we can hit refresh in a moment?
>> Yes. >> Will we
see this happen right now?
>> Yes, we can do that.
>> How long will it take, let's take a look.
>> It takes around four minutes to build and
it's still building.
>> Can you see the progress?
I'm curious, is there a log running or
can we see what it's doing?
>> Exactly. >> VSTS is quite sophisticated.
>> Yeah, so it will actually give you all the output from
the console, and it will even tell you.
>> So here it says it's running for two minutes,
almost three minutes, and it's gonna do code coverage.
These steps here, are these configurable steps,
this build definition?
>> These are all configurable steps, but for
this specific one we just went to the continuous delivery
blade in our management blade for our build app.
And this is the default, so
you just point it to your ACR, Azure Container Registry repo,
your GitHub account, and the brand.
>> That's a good point, so
you bring up Azure Container Registry.
Even though your's is an app where the source code is public,
you're not pushing this to Docker and
their public container registry.
You're using you're own registry,
cuz you might have your code be private,
then you want your container images to be private as well.
>> Exactly, yep.
>> And you point out that you clicked on continuous delivery
within App Service for Linux.
>> Exactly.
>> You're using the default, and if I remember correctly,
if you can go back to VSTS,
it looks like some logs are happening.
Look, so it's preparing the layers and
now pushing these layers.
>> To Azure Container Registry.
>> And you're building that on Alpine Linux?
>> Yes.
>> Yeah, so that's gonna go to Azure Container Registry.
You can see that the image has been built,
it's pushing just the one layer that changed.
>> And then when will Azure be notified?
Does VSTS tell Azure?
>> So VSTS actually changes the configuration of your app to
point to the new image.
>> Okay, so it's making another one and then doing,
they call it a VIP swap?
>> No, so what we do is we call it actually a,
>> Like slots?
>> It's more like we recycle our app without any downtime.
So we actually run both containers, and we wait for
all the requests for the main one to finish.
And then basically winding this down and bringing them up.
>> Okay, so you drain the traffic off the one while
simultaneously running them side by side.
>> Exactly, we overlap recycle those.
>> That's nice, overlap recycle them, that's interesting.
Okay, so here it says it's pushed and
then it did a little clean up.
>> Exactly, so
basically right now we have a new version of that container.
If we go see what is actually configured in App Service.
>> And does it have a different version number?
>> It actually has a different tag number.
>> A different tag number.
>> Yeah, so Docker images have tags as versions.
>> Okay, so we're here in the App Service for Linux, and
if we click on Docker container and we'll see what that says.
>> Yeah, and while this is actually happening, we can go
and see if our new app has been- >> So
then the banner will appear once it's switched.
And like you said, for a moment in time, it will run both.
>> Yes.
>> And I don't have to do anything there?
>> No, nothing that you need to do.
New users will hit the new container and-
>> Okay, so here you go.
>> And this is the new tag.
>> So tag six.
>> Yep, and if we refresh this, it will take some time to
download that container from- >> That's a good point.
So this is interesting, because what it's doing it's up in
the registry, the App Service knows about it.
And then it's being pulled from that registry running,
like you said, side by side.
And then as we hit Ctrl+F5 a little while, it takes just
a few moments, and then it eventually will swap those out.
>> Yeah.
>> All right, we'll just wait a moment and see.
>> Yeah.
>> And hey, boom, we are going, so
that's the new banner that you added at the top there.
>> Yes, exactly.
>> That's version six.
>> Yep.
>> Very cool, fantastic.
So go ahead and switch back to your PowerPoint and
show people where to find that.
>> Yeah, so devfinder.net and aka.ms/devfinder.
>> All right, I am learning all about multi-container
deployment, multi-languages all on App Service for
Linux here on Azure Friday.

Judgment for not breastfeeding - Duration: 1:50.
- I think, not breastfeeding my own children
was the source of the most judgment from
mothers of all ages,
and friends of mine, and family members of mine.
I really wanted to breast feed, I couldn't,
it didn't matter that I wanted to,
it didn't matter that I couldn't.
I shouldn't have received that judgment from anybody.
I had friends threaten to breastfeed my own children
because they weren't getting breast milk from me.
It was horrifying
and it made me feel awful,
it made me feel like a complete failure.
- There's an intense amount of pressure in our society
for women to breastfeed
and to breastfeed for an extended period of time,
but it's really important to remember
that not every mom feels comfortable breastfeeding
and not every baby is good at it,
which can be a challenge.
- With formula feeding, I've been questioned numerous times,
and having to give numerous explanations
as to why I might be formula feeding.
It's been very hard having to deal
with people questioning that.
Wondering the reasons why I might have chosen
or decided to formula feed.
I don't that it's anyone else's business to critique that.
- Not being able to nurse,
made me feel completely inadequate as a mother.
You know, we're told breast is best
and babies are born to breastfeed
and it's the most important thing you can do as a mother
and when you can't do it,
I felt like a complete failure as a mom.
To punish a woman for formula feeding is just punitive
and it can ultimately harm the child,
because if they're not getting the support they need,
then they're not gonna be a good mom
and being a mother is hard enough as is.
We don't need to be, you know, cat fighting
and making each other feel bad for our choices.

to working with you hey guys this is video number 3 of my 8 part video series
where I want to get you ready and prepared to grow your business online
now the first one we spoke about relationships of why I thought that was
the most important part to focus on around your website video number 2 was
all about choosing 3 or 4 words that really match up your business with what
customers are looking for that way people actually find you this video is
about choosing the exactly right content strategy for you your personality and
your business to get people and get to your word out there so there's videos
there's blogs there's audio you know articles there's different things social
media that you can use or just so many to choose from and I totally get it
it's overwhelming so I want you to first think what you're gonna be most
comfortable with are you comfortable on camera or are you
more comfortable writing a blog or do you just like posting instructional
stuff on social media think about what you're going to be doing what's gonna be
easiest for you to do and what you feel most comfortable with and then there
from there you complain your strategy then you put it in the calendar if you
chose to write a blog once a week put it in your calendar to write a blog once a
week if you think you can do a video a couple times a month put it in your
calendar put it on YouTube send it out there put it on your website in your
blog so people can get to know you that goes right along that relationship
builder now if you think you can do all three I know we work with a lot of
people that do all three for ours we do a video at the top we have some of our
article then we have the audio and then the rest of the article that way people
can get to know us we can help educate you and you can choose on which platform
or which of those three you would rather hear what we have to say that obviously
that's the best strategy because you're giving
three different options but it's overwhelming I totally get it so choose
one that works best for you just start doing it it's not about the quality it's
about the quantity get your name out there build relationships with people
and I guarantee you you'll be successful online this coming year if this helped
you in any way please leave a comment subscribe to our YouTube channel and I
hope you have a great holiday
