- Equality to me means people are not being judged
on anything but the work.
- Being judged by your brains
and your contribution to a team rather
than what you look like.
- I want women to have a voice,
the ability to have a choice,
and to be respected.
I think that's equality.

What is most amazing about women
is our ability to have compassion,
and at the same time, deliver.
- I love to hear women described as ambitious.
- Liberated.
- Thoughtful.
- Smart.
- Resourceful.
- Strong.
- Feminine,
and feminine can be so powerful.
- It's really tough to be a woman
because you're thinking of all these different things.
- What do you wear?
Oh, you don't want to wear something that's too sexy.
- 'Cause you don't want people to think
that you're using your looks.
- What you end up looking like is somehow
a lot larger a compliment than what you may have achieved.
- I gave up on heels a long time ago. (laughs)
- The hardest thing about being a female
is that fine line between being tough and confident
and being a bitch.
- When you're too outspoken,
there is some kind of baggage.
- "That girl is crazy.
"She's so emotional."
- Things are just perceived differently
depending on who says it.
- Which is very frustrating.
- I think what we need to do is somehow change the patterns
for those of us who are proud feminists.
We need to start now.
- I think we can do it.
- I would love for us to get to a point
where every time that something
with women or people of color succeeds,
that we're not surprised.
- "The first female!"
I don't want to have to see that.
- Every year, it feels like we kind of start over again.
- "The first black!"
- Why can't it just be one bar?
- If we could get rid of a few of the adjectives
that come with having to define things at this point,
then we know we're equal.
