Police Source Explains Why Apink's Bomb Threat Suspect Is Difficult To Punish

Following initial death and bomb threats in June, Apink.

With the latest bomb threat interrupting the press conference for s upcoming drama , frustrations are rising.

News outlet Sports Kyunghyang spoke with a police source to find out whether or not the suspect behind these threats can be arrested.

The interview is as follows:.

Soompi. Display. News. English.

300x250. BTF Soompi. Mobile. English.

300x250. ATF.

What is the status of the investigation?.

It is presumed that the suspect behind the Untouchable press conference case on November 21 is the same culprit who made threats last month.

The suspect is Korean American and currently living in Canada.

His identity has been figured out but he is not at his original residence, so they are trying to track down his location..

Will it be difficult to arrest a suspect overseas?.

An American in Canada is committing a crime against a Korean celebrity.

Thus we requested cooperation for the investigation from the United States and Canada.

However, its a complex situation with three countries getting involved.

Although its presumed that hes of Korean ethnicity he doesnt have Korean citizenship.

It will be difficult to punish him if Canada does not send him [to Korea].

Requests are continuously being made but we cant know if the police dragnet is closing in on him.

An investigation is taking place through Interpol as well, but while this case is a serious crime in our situation it may not be considered important in that country..

How can the suspect get arrested?.

The most important factor is the stances from the United States and Canada.

If they regard it simply as an insane person making false reports then proceedings will not be favorable.

What we can do will be limited.

In the case that an American Korean commited the same crime against an American celebrity while in Korea, the American police would not be able to do much about it either.

Apinks threat case will depend on whether or not the United States and Canadas authorities who have jurisdiction have volition [to do something].

This part is something we cant proceed with against their will.

If cooperation from the United States and Canada goes well, it is possible to punish the suspect in Korea under Korean law.

The severity of the punishment will be judged by the court..

What are your thoughts on the case?.

What is Confirmation? - Duration: 4:03.

To understand Confirmation we need to dive just a little bit into the ancient world in

which Christianity emerged.

For it's there that we find both the fertile symbolism and legal systems that were ripe

for our understanding of what God is trying to do with and for us in this great sacrament

called, Confirmation.

Let's begin with a quite wide spread historical phenomenon of a master branding the body of

his slave.

The action whereby he would literally burn his mark into the flesh of a servant.

Now, the sphragis (as it was called in the Greek speaking world) was a symbol of a social

reality, and that is that the person wearing the brand...well, their life is forfeit.

To be more exact, their life is forfeit to a particular master, which the brand also

makes clear.

So, cross culturally we might see soldiers who would be branded on their sword arm, why?

Well, because as they would be engaged in battle the enemy could see which master it

was that would be bringing about their death.

When a slave was designated for sexual servitude, the brand very often would be burned into

the flesh right between the thighs, to again let the one taking pleasure in that slave

for hire know exactly who it was that they would have to answer to if the slave came

into harm during the transaction.

The master - slave dynamic, as represented by the brand or seal was such a part of the

ancient social order that (if the Code of Hammurabi is anything to go by) one could

lose their life for trying to remove it for themselves or another, without the consent

of the master who placed it there.

You see, that is one of the reasons I like the movie, Gladiator do you remember it?

In the movie the character Maximus falls unconscious as he tries to remove his master's mark from

his arm.

And while it was quite gory, it did get the point across: to be free from his master this

symbol of the master had to go as well.

Alright so, what does this have to do with Confirmation?

Well, let's go back to a day when a man named Paul called himself a doulos (i.e. a slave)

of Jesus Christ.

Now, this has to strike us as bizarre because Paul was a free man according to Roman law

and he was a highly regarded Jew, a Pharisee (having studied under Gamaliel).

So if we were there living among the earliest Christians we could rightly say, 'well, hold

on Paul.

If you're a slave as you claim, where is your sphragis?

Where's your mark?

And further to the point, to whom is your life forfeit?'

And this is where things get really interesting.

Because in the Bible we've known since the Old Testament that God is wanting to mark

us with His brand, albeit with very different overtones.

Just think of the Song of Solomon: "Set me as a seal upon your heart; set me as a seal

upon your arm, for love is as strong as death."

No, the master that Paul serves is one who has already forfeited his own life on the

cross for his servants, servants he calls friends.

You see how radical that is?

And he brands them not by scarring the flesh, but by doing something to the human heart,

or more accurately placing an indelible mark on the soul, to redeem the flesh.

And now, playing the part of Paul's contemporaries we might as one more question: 'Paul, how

will others know that your soul is marked if they can't see it?'

The answer is actually quite simple.

Just as the soldier is sent out on a mission that reveals the master's intentions, Paul

(in fact everyone who has been marked with the sign of Confirmation) can reveal his master

by going out on the mission that he was given.

Not to destroy the enemy with sword, but to go out and baptize, making disciples of all

men and women.

So this is what Confirmation is all about.

It's about taking on the mark of the God of love upon our hearts, and receiving the mission

that He's given us.

We too have to make disciples of all nations, and God is even going to give us the power

to carry it out.

The Way You Wash Your Hands Is Making You Sick - Duration: 2:04.

Today we're gonna be talking about how you've been washing your hands all wrong.

Here's what's good.

Think you've heard of all the health tips?

Well here's one you probably haven't that's had a huge, outsized impact on my life.

Washing your hands is super important.

You probably know that washing your hands poorly or not at all

is why most people get sick.

In fact, the CDC says that good hand-washing

reduces the likelihood of diarrhea by 30% and

respiratory illnesses like colds by 20%.

But you knew all that because you wash your hands all the time, right?

You're not a monster.

But it turns out the most important part of hand-washing

isn't washing your hands with soap and water

for 20 or so seconds while humming the course if Pharrell's "Happy" – it's not that.

It's actually making sure that your hands are totally dry afterwards.

Wet hands may be worse for you than not washing in the first place.

I've been cleaning my hands wrong all along.

So now I don't skip the hand dryer.

I actually take extra time with it.

Instead of wiping my hands off on my jeans,

I take extra paper towels.

And yes, science says that, for your health at least, paper

towels are way better than hand dryers.

I still judge the shit out of people who

don't wash their hands in public bathrooms.

But I also judge the people

who wash their hands and then don't dry them fully.

Double judgment!

Anyway, since I started committing to drying my hands,

I've gotten sick way less often.

It's anecdotal, I know, but science says it makes sense.

Have a health thing that you were doing all wrong but thought you were doing all right?

Let me know in the comments and I'll share my favorites in a couple weeks.

Hi Greatists! Thanks for watching.

Remember, I'm your friend with health benefits, not an expert.

so feel free to disagree in the comments.

And make sure to keep watching my videos.

Who Is Cyntoia Brown? The Teenage Sex Trafficking Victim Was Sentenced To 51 Years In Jail - Duration: 6:39.

Who Is Cyntoia Brown? The Teenage Sex Trafficking Victim Was Sentenced To 51 Years In Jail

In 2004, then-16-year-old Cyntoia Brown was arrested for killing a man in Tennessee.

The teenager was a sex trafficking victim who ran away from home and was living with a 24-year-old man, called Cut-throat, who physically and sexually abused her, according to the Associated Press.

Cut-throat made her prostitute herself for money, which is how she met Johnny Allen, 43, who thentook Brown to his home and was acting in a way that made her uncomfortable and afraid.

So, thinking he was going to attack her, Brown took out a gun she had in her purse and shot him, she testified.

After being found guilty in a 2006 trial Brown was sentenced to life in prison.

Based on her sentence,  Brown will not be eligible to seek parole until shes 67 years old.

Now, her story is in the news again, as Fox 17 Nashville published a new report on Browns life in prison on Thursday, Nov.

The report featured a video from Dan Birman, a professor at University of Southern Californias Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, who has been telling Browns story and pushing for justice.

Birman has known Brown for 14 years and made a documentary, Me Facing Life: Cyntoias Story, about her life.

According to Fox 17, Brown got an associate degree from Lipscomb University and is now working on a bachelors degree while also working as an unpaid consultant for the Juvenile Justice system.

In part because of Browns story, Tennessee law was almost changed.

According to the Tennessean, a 2015 proposal would have required a review of life sentences for teenagers 15 years served.

Had Brown been sentenced under those rules, she would have been able to get a sentencing review when she was 31 years old.

Instead, shes waiting for possible parole eligibility when shes 67.

However, that bill was withdrawn in Tennessee in 2015, and a similar bill was pulled from the agenda in 2017, according to Birman.

A new law changed in 2011 requires that instead of being marked as prostitutes, teenage girls are classified as sex trafficking and manipulation victims.

That difference could have altered Browns sentence, but because she was sentenced before that law was changed, she remains in prison.

The Tennessean on YouTube.

With Browns story going around again in the news and on social media, many celebrities are taking up the fight for her freedom.

On Tuesday, Nov.

21, both Rihanna and Kim Kardashian West, among many other individuals, shared Browns story on their social media platforms.

They both shared a screenshot of a post about the young woman, explaining her story and asking the reader to imagine being her and being convicted as an adult and sentenced to life in prison..

The system has failed, Kardashian West wrote in her tweet about Browns story.

Its heartbreaking to see a young girl sex trafficked then when she has the courage to fight back is jailed for life! We have to do better & do whats right..

Kardashian wrote in her tweet that she reached out to her own attorneys to see if theres something that can be done to fix this.

She ended her tweet with the hashtag #FreeCyntoiaBrown.

Similarly, Rihanna called for justice in her own social media post about Brown.

Did we somehow change the definition of #JUSTICE along the way?? Rihanna wrote on Instagram.

Something is horribly wrong when the system enables these rapists and the victim is thrown away for life! To each of you responsible for this childs sentence I hope to God you dont have children, because this could be your daughter being punished for punishing already!.

Rihanna concluded her Instagram post with the #FreeCyntoiaBrown hashtag as well as #HowManyMore.

Many social media users posted the hashtag #FreeCyntoiaBrown to call for the young womans freedom.

Although celebrities and members of the public are calling for Browns freedom, its unclear if there will be an actual change in her circumstance.

Unfortunately, attention from both Rihanna and Kim Kardashian West doesnt mean much in a court of law.

Should Kardashians lawyers find a way around the case, Brown could see a lessened sentence, but there is currently no indication of that actually happening.

Birman and Browns other supporters are hoping that the governor and parole board will consider clemency for her, according to Fox 17.
