Yamuna Expressway - First Impression, is it worth it? - Duration: 6:38.

Hello everybody MotoHolic here and welcome to my channel.

For a while my friends have been telling me how awesome it is to write on Yamuna Expressway

so while I was on that side - I decided to find out for myself.

Today I am going to tell you what are my thoughts about this.

As you may already know, I have just returned from a solo trip across India, videos about that will be

coming up shortly on my channel. But first I would like to thank each and

every single one CouchSurfer that I have met along this trip.

Ashish from Varanasi was kind enough to host me Thank You! Rajat spent the entire day with

me showing me the city and we had some various deep conversations and

discussions that went on the whole day it was awesome talking to you Rajat!

Sachin was my host in Agra he showed me the true meaning of Athithi Devo Bhava

great job there my friend too bad we didn't get to spend more time together

Irfan hosted me in Lucknow - you my friend have a great home and a huge heart keep it up!

Pallav was kind enough to go out of his way for a meet - up thank you!

Originally we planned to meet up with Sandhya for coffee, but the conversation

was so captivating it turned into dinner that went well into midnight

Vishal was my host in Patna, great atmosphere you have and amazing people.

We explored Patna and its culinary arts - it was delicious.

I also like to apologize to all the other CouchSurfers who they offered to host me or show me

around but somehow another it didn't work out. Maybe next time?

Now back to Expressways... I like the idea, I like how it is organized

and well-done. I like the well-maintained surface of the road that was a relaxing experience.

I didn't even mind at all at the toll booth and it's a quick way to

get from A to B. There is also this part that there are less idiots on the road,

maybe because they can't afford a toll? But it's boring! If you are on the

motorbike on the expressway for like 45 50 minutes just to get in and out -

that might be fun. It's okay, you get to test your top speed and what-not,

enjoy the freedom for a little bit. But I was on expressways the whole day from

Mathura to Agra and from Agra to Lucknow that's more than 300 kilometers of

expressways that was more than like four hours of just constantly sitting there

full throttle open, boring just nothing to do, nothing to do... You just sit there

throttle open, change lane, overtake, back to normal lane - that's it!

absolutely boring! There's no places to stop, there is no

petrol stations or dhabas or restaurants on the side of the road or anything!

In the 300 kilometer stretch between Agra and Lucknow there were two

places where you actually just pull off and go to fill up petrol

and supposedly you had food places but I didn't want to stop there

I didn't want to stop at the commercial place, I just wanted to stop

and see the scenery, enjoy local food or anything. There you probably would

just get some coffee and some quick junk food - that's no fun. There is nothing to do,

there is nothing to see, you just sit there with throttle open for like three

hours that's boring! I don't like it! And although the lanes were so well

organized, there was a 60 km/h lane, 100 km/h lane, an overtake lane,

there was an emergency lane, divider in the middle and everything. Good surface

and everything - people still manage to crash!

Maybe Indians are just not meant for good roads?!? in my 45 minutes on Yamuna

expressway I saw one totaled car being town away and at least half a dozen if

not more skid marks or brake marks that looked like they ended up

in a car crashing into either a side barrier or the divider in the middle.

And those skid marks were not old, they looked fresh, they look not older than one

week. So it's like on such a short stretch of road they managed to crash so much?

What's going on people? What you have to do to crash your car in such

perfect conditions? It's not like there were potholes on the road or they

were people running across the road or cattle walking or whatever, or

idiots swerving from one lane to another... No, the roads are empty they have barely

any cars there, and the trucks stay to their lane the fast guys stay to

their lane... I mean what you have to do to crash from the overtake lane into

the divider or to crash into the other side, into the rail?

Overall I was not impressed by the expressways. Frankly speaking I did not

like it. I much prefer the highways or the state highways that just go through

villages and towns. It is so much more interesting and so much

more entertaining to ride. Yes, it takes longer to get from A to B, maybe it is

more exhausting, but it's not tiring for the mind, it's not boring!

I enjoy it much more that way... That's all for today, guys I hope you enjoyed this
