Waching daily Aug 29 2018

Hi everybody and welcome back to Relax My Dog today me and Milo here are going

to be talking about how to look after your dog after surgery now many dogs have to

go into surgery for many different reasons and you guys might want to learn

a little bit on how you can care for them when they have come home now it's

obvious that every single post-operative care that you have to

give your dog is it not a standard procedure every single dog is different

and will require different needs so we're going to be giving sort of an

overall on what you should be doing for your dog and how you might have to care

for them now before we begin definitely do go down below to the

comments and let me know has your dog ever gone in for any surgeries we

absolutely love to hear what you guys have to say at Relax My Dog so

definitely do let us know down below in the comments

now post-operative care will depend on your dog their age their condition and

also what type of surgery they are going for so it's very important to not take

this video as a step-by-step guide on what you should do with your pet it's

definitely something to look at as an overall basis and to think about whether

that specific one is important for your dog now it's very very important to know

as well that your dog will be extremely sleepy about 12 to 24 hours after their

surgery so definitely don't think they're going to be their playful selves because

they really are not and but definitely do keep an eye on them during this time

because like I say they will be sleepy they might not want to eat may not be

allowed to eat so this is also something to consider that don't be worried

straight after their surgery they will not be their usual self and you

shouldn't really expect them to be I'm sure if you were to go for surgery

you wouldn't be yourself 12 to 24 hours after so definitely do it take that into

account our first top tip is to definitely go and ask your vet any

specifics that you need to be performing for your dog obviously they all know

what specific surgery your dog has had and what after care they require so that

is definitely a first top tip but go over to your vets give them a call ask them

what requirements they need to have there might need medication etc.

so definitely do give them a call or they probably will speak to you after their

dog surgery anyway our second top tip is that that confinement is important you

want your dog to do as little walking as possible obviously if they start to walk

they may start to stretch their wounds meaning that they could break the

stitching and therefore the recovery will be a lot longer so confinement is

important even though this time you want to help your dog and be very close to

them it kind of is important for you not to be to a point because you don't want

any sort of accidents to happen number three is all about home remedies

I'm sure you guys know that once you do take your dog into surgery you are given a

lot of medication to give your dog after surgery and also you might be able to

find there are lots of home remedies to do online as well it's very important to

make sure you are researching the remedies ask the vets if you should

be doing them for your pet and to just generally make sure that there's nothing

harmful for your dog your dog might have allergies to certain remedies etc so

definitely do consult your vet at any given point number four is to

check your dog's incision this again is very very sort of hit and miss because

some vets will tell you not to go near it

however some vets will tell you to check it on a regular basis if you are meant

to check it on a regular basis make sure you're washing your hands every single

time you're going near that area because obviously at this time it will be very easy for

your dog to catch any sort of infections so this is also very very important that

you wash your hands and you stay extra clean around that area number five is to

comfort your pets obviously within the first few days definitely do let them

have that confinement experience but also after that time make sure you're

comforting them make sure you getting them their favorite treat making them their

favorite meal buying them their new toy just basically comforting your pet I'm

sure at this time your pet may hate you a little bit because I'm sure Milo

looks like he hates me right now but your pet might be hating you at that

moment because they think it's all your fault and you've done that to them

so definitely do comfort them and make them feel a little bit better well that is it

it for this week's video don't forget to give this a big thumbs up if

you enjoyed it don't forget to comment down below letting me know what

different surgeries like I said your pet has been in for and also don't forget to

subscribe if you haven't already and you would like

to also forget we have our gorgeous little t-shirt giveaway all you need to do

to win your very own relax my dog t-shirt is pop over to our Instagram

A Victorian hobby for the mechanically minded - Duration: 2:08.

Today curator Ben Russell is going to show me

something that Victorians might have

got up to in their equivalent of your garden shed. In another

These look incredible and they look 3D printed to me but I'm guessing they

are a little bit older than that?

A bit before 3D printing.

If you're a mechanically minded chap or woman actually,

and you wanted to play with machines, before the car came along,

you'd have a lathe. A lathe like this.

This is just the bare bones of the machine.

You would have a chuck here which holds

a piece of material like Ivory or Boxwood or something like that.

And then as you rotated it here you've got a treadle here, so

like a Singer sewing machine you would treadle away and that would turn the piece.

And you would have a cutting tool here which would cut into it.

and what they're doing is reproducing remarkable decorative pieces like this.

If you pick this up, you think that looks a little bit strange,

but then you turn it through 90 degrees and realize it's the Duke of Wellington, which is really quite smashing.

So is this all carved from one continuous piece? Actually what is it?

Not always.

This would be fossil ivory - no issue there - because fossil Ivory would

have been lying around on the floor for millennia from dead elephants which had died.

And so basically you would be producing little tiny parts which would

have gradually slot together; some of the parts are quite big and then you

get some of these little tiny decorative bits like these.

So the idea is you would buy the lathe and you would buy the attachments. Ah, we have the manual.

Absolutely so here we have Holtzapffel's Turning and Mechanical Manipulation Volume 5.

There's a sixth volume in which they never planned.

And what you have here... this is your guidebook to your world of mechanical wonders

in ornamental turning. And as you can see once you start opening,

you have these worked examples which were produced to say look you can do this too.

So is this the sort of thing that someone would have in their shed?

Yes in a way this is the proto shed; some place you would go and hide away from your family

and have a smoke and probably some alcohol and then do that sort of thing.

So people with these would have a workshop and you go away and you

produce turning and very often these pieces were designed to be

shown off. You're showing your skill as a turner

by producing a piece like this.

And you would display it in your drawing room or living room.

How to Write Fast With Good Handwriting | Exams Tips For Students | LetsTute - Duration: 5:27.

Hello guys, welcome to this session.

Wondering what I am doing?

What is todays topic all about?

The topic that we are going to address today is the most demanded topic.

How to write fast?

Many students complain that their handwriting is good, they have proper subject knowledge

but they fail to finish their exams on time.

Does this have something to do with our writing speed or style?

Yes, so what are the ways to increase our speedwhat should be done to write fast?

The first important thing is the tool used-Pen/ Pencil

Try using a lightweight pen which will help you to write effortlessly.

Use the same pen for practice and even during your exam.

Try not to put the cap at the end we dont want additional weight of anything.

Friends, we have to train our fingers and hand muscles to write fast.

How can we do that?

Ok tell me, how does any athlete achieve their running speed?

Yes, it is by practice that they train their body and build their stamina to run fast.

The same logic applies here as well.

Practice is the answer.

Try to copy a written part from any of your reference material and write them but time

yourself.

Suppose that you take 5 minutes to fill that page at your normal speed.

Next time write the same thing again and increase your speed.

Check whether you are able to finish that in a lesser time.

Each time try reducing the time until you get a constant timing.

That will give you your speed.

With that speed, you have to practice for long hours.

You may take small breaks in between but make it a habit to continuously write for 2-3 hours

because thats normally our exam duration.

But friends, during exams we cant simply copy and write.

You have to be thorough with your content knowledge so that you dont waste time thinking.

So first plan the flow of the answer in your mind and start writing it.

For free writing, practice or solve some previous year question paper or any answer or topic

which you have studied.

You may even ask someone to dictate certain parts and try to match up to their speed.

While writing, take care of the grip and pressure.

If you are holding it too tight and applying excess pressure you are wasting your energy

there.

Use a soft grip and normal pressure as it will help us write longer reduce fatigue and

muscle cramp.

Friends, I would suggest to initially focus on achieving the speed and then improve the

presentation and handwriting part.

But dont spoil your handwriting for the speed try to create a legible handwriting.

Also, check the size of your letters; dont make it too big because it will take additional

time to finish those letters.

Normal sizing would be preferable.

Apart from these tips, you may even try out these warm-up exercises:

1) We get those smiley faced balls made of foam in the market, squeeze it and relax,

try it 4-5 times.

2) Place 4-5 coins on a table, pick it and place it, pick it place it and repeat.

Use tripod fingers.

3) Tear small bits of paper and make paper balls.

Here again, using your tripod fingers.

4) Hold a pencil like you are about to write and using those fingers try to walk it towards

the end.

Walk it back and repeat.

5) Place a rubber band around the fingers and thumb, stretch it and relax.

Repeat the same.

By doing these exercises we are training our hand and finger muscles and this will help

us write longer without any fatigue.

So, I hope you found this session useful.

Meet you in our next session with another interesting topic.

Till then stay tuned and subscribe to our channel.

How to Keep Your Bottle of Water Cold for Hours - Duration: 1:52.

You've probably already heard about how important it is to drink a lot of water throughout the

day.

Drinking water is one of the most important things we can do as a human being.

Since water is so essential to our lives, drinking it in adequate amounts can bring

us several different health benefits.

It can:

Control our blood pressure; Prevent cramping;

Protect our heart; Improve the functioning of our intestines;

Increase our physical resistance; Cleanse our body;

Protect us against kidney stones; Protect our eyes;

Improve vitamin absorption; Keep our skin looking young.

Now that you know about all of these benefits, it's easier for you to understand how important

water is in our daily routine.

Staying hydrated is fundamental for anyone who leads a busy life.

Many people carry a bottle of water around with them so they can drink it whenever they're

thirsty.

The problem is, depending on the temperature and how we store our water bottle, as time

passes it may become warm and we may not want to drink it.

So today we're going to teach you a very simple trick that will help you keep your water colder

for much longer.

It's quite easy, the only thing you'll need is an empty water bottle.

Fill the empty water bottle up one fourth of the way with water.

Then, place the water bottle in the freezer overnight.

The next morning, fill the rest of the bottle up before leaving the house.

Now, your water will be cool all day long.

Fully Automated UV Unwrapping for Arbitrary Meshes | SIGGRAPH 2018 | Intel Software - Duration: 2:45.

My name is Eskil Steenberg, and I'm here at SIGGRAPH 2018,

in the Intel booth, showing my fully automated UV Unwrapping

software.

This software can take any model and unwrap it

so that you can put a texture on it.

This saves countless hours for 3D artists

who do this every day.

A normal artist that makes acids for, say, a big Triple A game,

would spend about 10% to 20% of their time just doing

UV mapping.

That's tens of thousands of dollars for just one artist.

Now, imagine you have a studio with hundreds

of artists working on this.

Being able to take all that work and put it

in a piece of software that does it in seconds,

rather than hours and days, is a huge win,

both financially and also letting

the artist do what they really want, which is to create art.

This software uses 16 different steps

that looks at different features of the model

and tries to do the best job of UV mapping.

It works very much like an artist, artists

who are experienced and know how to handle

different types of geometry.

This means you get a really, really good result every time.

It's always perfect.

It never makes a mistake.

But it still thinks like an artist.

All I need to do is load a file.

So I'm taking an [INAUDIBLE] file.

And it computes, and it's done.

And here, you can see the UV mapping.

You can see all the [? seams. ?] This is the soft model.

You can also try a hard shape model.

So here is [? a light ?] pole [? with ?] this,

and here is the unwrap of it.

We can also try another.

Let's do a car model.

Here's a car, and again, fully UV unwrapped.

So as you can see, it's really fast,

and it just does the job really well.

The biggest challenge of this is that all three models

are different.

And you need to handle each model in a special way.

So getting the right algorithm to attack

the right part of the model and doing it just the right way--

that is a huge challenge.

I'm an Intel Innovator, and that means

that I get access to all the cool technology

that Intel is developing.

I get first access, and they also

invite me to go to places like this--

SIGGRAPH-- to show off what I'm working on.

The UV Unwrapper is now being released,

and you can find it on my website, quelsolaar.com.

Just email me, and you can get access to a test version.

10 DIY Project Ideas for Mudroom - Duration: 8:34.

Mudrooms are usually small and untidy

since they are considered to be

a home's secondary entrance.

Well, actually, your mudroom is your real superhero

as it keeps your house clean

by keeping the wet coats and muddy boots in place.

Therefore, it deserves to be refurbished

with these 10 DIY project ideas

so that it will look more appealing.

As always these ideas are brought to you

by simphome.com.

10. DIY Custom Room

When stepping into this mudroom,

you will feel amazed with its design

which makes it functional as well as practical.

The DIY bench is the best thing in it.

Instead of building the bench the entire length

of the wall which makes it hard to open the door,

centering it along the wall will be much better.

To get this look,

you need to attach the beadboard sheets

using brads and studs.

After that, you can begin to attach the anchor

and bottom plate using screws.

And don't forget to attach the vertical supports

that divide the plates into four compartments.

And finally, attach the top plate

so that it forms a nice bench.

After attaching the moldings,

you can apply oil-based white for a sleek finish.

But don't forget to apply oil-based primer first.

To kick it up a notch,

you can hang a painting for a perfect centerpiece

and some pillows that add pops of color.

9. DIY Bench

This bench is a perfect choice

if you have an awkward space for your mudroom.

It is not too long and just suits this corner well.

To make this bench,

you need to get the baskets that you want

so that you can measure the bottom of the bench

based on the dimensions of the baskets.

Once you have assembled the plates

and ready to place the bench,

you have to cut the baseboard

so that it can be put in place perfectly.

For the finishing, you can stain the top of the bench.

It will be better if you use gel stain

as it will give a top-notch look.

After that, you can seal it with polyurethane

for a better and long-lasting look.

8. Hall Tree Bench

I love the color of this hall-tree bench.

The green and orange colors add a nuance

in this mudroom,

making it more appealing.

The bench features some cabinets

that you can use to store things

so that your mudroom will stay clean and organized.

Some hooks are added over the bench

to hang the wet bags and caps

so that they won't mess your house.

7. Locker Room Bench

More family members entail more space.

And thus, this mudroom bench is suitable

for you and your big family.

The bench is quite long

and can accomodate more people.

The back part of the bench is made of wooden panels

which are arranged in tongue-and-groove paneling style.

A number of hooks line up along the bench

that enable you to hang wet jackets or scarves.

To make the bench look more beautiful,

you can either stain or paint it the color of your choice.

Or, if you want a cool rustic look,

you can just whitewash it.

6. Stackable Crates Mudroom Storage

This is why I love DIY projects a lot.

I can explore my creativity to meet my need

just like this budget DIY mudroom idea.

You don't have to break a sweat

just to make some racks to store your shoes.

If you are a complete novice,

but you are longing for a spectacular mudroom,

you can try upcycling some wooden crates.

You won't have to cut some wooden boards

and be precise in measuring

the dimensions of the racks

since you only need to hang the crates on the wall.

Yep!

That's all what you need to do.

But before hanging them on the wall,

you can paint them

so that they can jazz your mudroom up.

5. Schmidt Home Mud Room

This wall-mounted bench gives you more space

beneath it so that you can store

more shoes and flip-flops.

A white shelf with four compartments

hangs at the corner of the mudroom.

Just place some baskets in the compartments

to keep things tidy.

Besides having sufficient storage space

under the bench and in the shelf,

you still have an extra storage right under the ceiling.
