President Trump said Thursday that civilian employees working for the federal government won't get pay raises next year to save money as the federal budget deficit continues to skyrocket on his watch
"In light of our Nation's fiscal situation, Federal employee pay must be performance-based, and aligned strategically toward recruiting, retaining, and rewarding high-performing Federal employees and those with critical skill sets," Trump wrote in a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan
A 2.1 percent across-the-board increase was scheduled to go into effect in January
The proposal would affect most of the 2.1 million federal employees across the US, about 1
7 million of whom live outside of the Washington, DC area, The Hill reported. Members of the military will still receive a promised 2
6 percent pay increase. The move comes as the federal government has been running up huge deficits since Trump took office, fueled largely by corporate tax cuts and increased bi-partisan spending bills
The government ran a monthly budget deficit of $77 billion in July, up 79 percent over the same month in 2017, MarketWatch reported
For the first 10 months of fiscal 2018, the shortfall totaled $684 billion, according to the Treasury Department — an increase of 21 percent compared to the same period in 2017
The government is getting less money from both corporations and individuals in the wake of the GOP tax cuts, which Trump and lawmakers insisted at the time would pay for themselves
Corporate revenues were down 34 percent as companies enjoyed a reduced 21 percent tax rate, the website reported
Spending, meanwhile, jumped by 10 percent in July — the last month for which figures are available — as the government spent more cash for defense and other programs
Congressional budget analysts predict the deficit for the full year will be about 19 percent larger than last year's shortfall, the result of both the Republican tax law and spending boosts approved by lawmakers earlier this year
The Congressional Budget Office predicted trillion-dollar deficits will return in 2020 — contradicting Trump's claims on the campaign trail that he would cut the deficit and balance the country's budget

I've had a chance to meet with dozens of West Side residents and the things that
they've told me in their living rooms, over and over again, are reflected by a
conversation I had with Marsha Thompson
This neighborhood is hollowing out. I feel like it's an aging population and
the streets are quiet. Except for, of course, the ongoing grinding of machinery
with monster houses being built that often are not inhabited. There aren't
kids playing in the street. The neighbors aren't out and about. It feels like it's
a hollowed out neighborhood.
I'll be honest with you. I love this neighborhood
but I'm really getting fed up with what's happening here.
I feel like packing up and leaving and walking off with the proceeds I've made
on this inflated market. Sometimes. But I want to stay too. I want my kids be able
to stay. They love this city. They say it every time they come home. They love the
city. They want to be here. I love the feeling character of this neighborhood.
I would not want to see that change but I would like to see more density and I
think it's possible. I've seen models for this. I've seen examples of it in
Kitsilano. You often see quadruplexes, triplexes that are in keeping with the
character of the neighborhood. And they keep the trees too. I think so much of the
development here that's going on; we strip the canopy away and I think we
have to do more to protect that with our development as well.
What I've seen over the past 14 years is we're slowly losing businesses. We don't have the customer
base in our neighborhood anymore. We've lost a lot of the student
population here largely, I would say, due to Air B&B and the loss of typical
student housing and basement suites and other suites. Slowly but surely the
population is diminishing and the customer base with it
Shawna, I'm really glad you're running because I really believe that you
understand the character of the West Side and that you're committed to protecting
that. And I know you also want to see these neighborhoods brought back to life.
You want to see more kids on the street. You want to see the canopy protected
You're interested in keeping the small business community vital and bringing
back the customer base to keep those high streets vital. And I know you
understand that building more homes in this neighborhood is part of the solution to that.

Popular video game NBA 2K19 is set to be released on September 11 (or September 7 for those who pre-ordered), and the player ratings are slowly coming out.
For multiple NBA teams, we've already seen their starting lineups in 2K19 made public.
One of those groups is the defending champion Golden State Warriors, who have a loaded starting lineup once again.
After adding former New Orleans Pelicans big man DeMarcus Cousins in free agency, the NBA's best team got even better.
And as NBA writer Tomer Azarly revealed, the Warriors have a starting five which features each player holding a rating of 87 overall or better.

While this group is loaded, and will likely be a very popular choice during gameplay, it's worth noting that Cousins will almost certainly miss the start of the season.
The Warriors' new center suffered a torn Achilles last season and is unlikely to be ready for the opener.
According to 2Kratings.com, no other player on the Warriors roster has received their updated rating yet.
Names such as Andre Iguodala, Jordan Bell, Shaun Livingston, Quinn Cook and Jonas Jerebko are all still listed with their NBA 2K18 ratings.

Schools Near San Antonio Work to Plan The Future For Their Students - Duration: 3:01.

- My heart's in Harlandale
'cause Harlandale feels like family.
And that collaborative effort,
it takes the work out of work.
- Harlandale ISD is a place that is about kids.
- We're trying to teach students to be invested
in what they're passionnate about.
And to be able to solve problems and be creative
because the world is gonna change so quickly,
and they have to be able to change along with it.
- We just want to build a well-rounded kid,
and give them opportunities that they would have never
experienced anywhere else.

- Music, art, there have been so many programs
at my school there is a huge robotics component,
and so, I see so much creativity.
Through our strategic planning, a lot of these programs
will be able to continue because of what it does
for our community and our students.
- Being involved in this strategic planning,
Harlandale ISD now has this vision
for the next three to five years.
- Having parents and students and other community partners
a part of this planning process, really shows
that we can really move our district forward,
but we can't do it by ourselves.
- It was honestly really amazing
'cause I never really thought there were gonna be a lot
of people who cared that much about the whole district.
- It opened my eyes because it shows that the admins
of the Harlandale School District
that they care about their students.
- And to see/hear the students be so passionate
and so eloquent about the challenge that they face
and what they appreciate
and what they wanna see changed across Harlandale,
that was just the most rewarding part of it for me.
- It was a very open environment,
a very trusting environment, and it was okay to say
maybe we were not that great at this, we're good at this,
but maybe we need to do better at this.
- We really zeroed in and came up with some plans of action
that every stakeholder was gonna hold each other
accountable to how we were gonna accomplish those goals.

is on my iPhone and I cannot wait to

this is my iPhone it has a ton of
fingerprints on it as you can tell you
would think someone who is preparing a
video for you guys would clean their
iPhone but not me I just like to keep it
dirty okay that looks a little bit
better right kind of not really okay so
this is the case to my iPhone and it's
from the kayseri
it's a website and it's they have super
cute iPhone cases and I I just I needed
a new one desperately but I normally
have like a phone pocket on the back but
it didn't get sent to me for some reason
so I just emailed them and I'm like I'm
sure they'll send me another one but I
got like an iPhone pocket for all of my
like what do they call credit cards and
stuff so I'm gonna put that on the back
it's just like a little sticker that you
can put on here and you put all your
credit cards in there and this is
basically my purse it's so nice I just
bring this into stores and bring my keys
and I'm good to go
it is currently 956 a.m. and this is my
background I just I think I just changed
it yesterday actually and it says to
pray it's just like such a good reminder
to pray when whenever you can pray when
you're worried you can pray when you're
happy you can pray when you're scared
when you're sad when you're lonely
whatever just pray like instead of
worrying about it God asked us to pray
so that is such a good reminder for me
it's just quick simple and easy

app on this page is probably my planning
app I love this app it's called Vantage
I'll show you guys a little bit more but
you can click on a day and this says
today and today I need to edit it
Instagram post I need to get my
thumbnails ready I need to edit a video
and I need to get some clothes and film
stuff for another video so I love this
app because you can plan out your days
and make little cute books for each day
this app did cost which is kind of
annoying but I did say I like to have my
planner on my phone as well like I like
to write out my plans in a planner like
the big picture and then like the little
to-do list I love to keep in my phone so
that's why I went ahead and purchased
this I think it was like $5.99 which is
a little bit expensive but it is such a
good app and so you can make little
booklets and then do a to-do list so I
have like my goals my to-do list today
tomorrow so it's just so simple to make
little ebooks and you can check off the
things you've already done for the day
which is so nice I'm a person that needs
like a daily list so this is very
helpful and then on the front page I
just have my mailbox and then I have
this thing it's called fiber and this is
where I hire a lot of the people like a
lot of the freelancers if you guys have
seen my intro which I'm sure you
probably just watch is somebody made my
intro for me on Fiverr and I only had to
pay like a couple bucks for it and they
made a really cool intro and so this is
the website that I use to just make
little things like that like if you've
seen my youtube banner and stuff a lot
of times I don't want to spend time this
with that and even make my thumbnails
for me so like I'll send a girl my
pictures and she'll make my thumbnails
it's so so nice if you guys are new
youtubers I would definitely start doing
all that stuff yourself just so you can
see what actually goes into it like all
the work that goes into making those
like in the beginning I made my own
banner thumbnails all of that and it was
really good because I saw how many hours
go into it and I just saw how much time
it took and how creative you have to be
so once you start making a little bit
more money on YouTube from like Adsense
and stuff you can start like sending
your thumbnails to freelancers to do or
whatever and so it's so awesome because
it gives me more free time to make more
videos which is great my second page
looks like this and I have like some
file folders and then I have some
individual apps because I don't like
having to go into the files every time
so of course I pretty much use this on
the daily when I'm going to do work at
Starbucks
it's my Starbucks app which is really
nice you probably all know what that is
and I have all of my social media and
one app I don't know what why it's named
photography like I probably should
change that to social media but I don't
really care so my Instagram my YouTube
my snapchat do you guys use snapchat

Instagram or snapchat what do you guys
use the most and then I have my little
preview app which is really nice to plan
out my Instagram post and like all the
things I'm gonna say and the caption and
you can also schedule your Instagram
posts on here as well it's called the
preview app so I really love that and
then I also have my period tracker on
here it's kind of embarrassing that I'm
showing you guys this but I do like
chalk my periods which is really nice
and then if you go to like the doctor or
something and they're like when did you
have your last period it's so easy to
just like pull up and show them and then
of course I have my Pinterest app it
should probably be moved to the social
media portion but I love Pinterest so
much I spent so much time on here just
browsing
like stuff for like video ideas and like
hair ideas I just I loved looking at
pictures so Pinterest is so much fun do
you guys use IG TV or not I like made
one video but then I'm like I don't know
I make youtube videos so so I feel like
it's kind of hard going back and forth
on platforms so I kind of like just want
to stick to YouTube but if you guys like
I do TV
definitely start making more IG TV
videos so I have that on here but I
don't really use it a lot and then if
you are married this is an awesome app
it's called praying wives and each day
there's just a little prayer for your
husband you can press on today's prayer
this one is for his eyes and that's what
it says
so I try to take the time every day just
to pray for my husband and then of
course I have my Poshmark app which I am
absolutely obsessed with if you guys
haven't used Poshmark you should
definitely go on there if you have a
bunch of clothes that you just don't
wear or shoes or purses or whatever that
you don't wear anymore try selling them
on Poshmark like I've made a lot of
money on here just from selling my old
clothes that I thought weren't really
worth anything but other people did so
they bought them and it's so cool
because they pay for the shipping label
you can literally just box it up put the
shipping label on it and put leave it on
your front porch and the mailman can
come and pick it up and it's so easy to
make money so that's how I make a little
bit of extra money okay and then this is
where I edit all of my photos I have a
ton of editing stuff so in light
facetune the studio editor pick stitch
after light Snapseed vsco cam which i
actually only use like lightroom and
it's not even in here but i think this
is when i first started like editing my
pictures and learning how to do that I
would use all these apps so I always use
Lightroom to edit my photos and then I
go into the face to nap if I want to
like enhance a photo at all so I just go
to details like if I want to make my
clothes pop or if I want to make my eyes
pop or anything like that I always use
facetune I really love that so on the
third page I have my Chipotle app which
is literally the nicest thing because at
the Chipotle near me you can literally
order online and then you just drive
through the drive-thru and you don't
even have to hand them your card because
you already paid through such a pulley
app and they just came to your food and
you're off like it's so easy so if you
guys have a drive-through Chipotle you
definitely should get the app it's
amazing so I use that all the time and
then I have Facebook on a whole nother
page I don't know why I think actually
because I just downloaded Facebook again
I would always go online because I'm
like oh if I don't have the app I won't
go on it as much but then I would just
go online and look at it so I'm like why
don't I have that app so I download the
app and that's why it's on the last page
it's like all over the place I'm not an
organized person guys this is just like
reality so I have the Facebook app that
I love and then oh this duolingo app is
something me and my husband have been
using a lot if you guys want to learn
like a different language they have a
ton of different languages you can learn
we are learning Spanish right now and
it's so cool because it's super simple
like this says I'm a woman and then it
teaches you each word and then once you
get a little bit farther in the program
we can write the whole sentence out in
Spanish and it will like tell you if
you've done it correctly it will show
you pictures for each word it's super
simple and easy to learn like we've just
been trying to do like ten minutes a
night so that is an awesome app for sure
and it's free and then the last app that
I've absolutely been loving is the
Kindle app I thought you only had to
have a Kindle to like have all access to
the Kindle but there's an app for it now
the book that I've been loving right now
is by Ian Morgan Chron and Suzanne
stabile it's called the road back to you
if you guys have not taken the Enneagram
test or Enneagram
i don't really know how to say it it is
so good it takes about 15 minutes and it
tells you all about your personality and
why you're like that and so you have to
get the book to go more into detail but
you can get it on the Kindle app I think
it might have been like 11 bucks not too
much but I'll definitely leave the
Enneagram test it's a free test you can
take online and it tells all about you
it's so cool and then I really love to
like read about my husband and see why
he is the way he is and then why I am
the way I am and then we can kind of
just see how we can work together it's
just it's the coolest app and you just
learned so much about yourself and you
learn so much about others as well so
I'll definitely leave that in the
