What Exactly Is Bankruptcy? - Duration: 4:08.

Hello everybody! My name is Carmen Dellutri with the Dellutri Law Group. I've been in

and out of the bankruptcy courts for about twenty years, a little more than

twenty years now I guess and people always ask me what exactly is bankruptcy.

I said, "Well that's a great question." Bankruptcy, in my opinion, is financial

planning for the future. What are you really trying to do? Let's take a 30,000

foot approach. Bankruptcy is your opportunity to deal with all your

financial creditors at one time. Rather than fighting a fire, "Oh this guy is

calling me, maybe I should send him some money and I just won't send any money to

the other ones". What you're doing is basically taking them all in, bringing

them to the Bankruptcy Court and saying, "Here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna

deal with each of you right now and this is what we're gonna do to help you or

not pay you." Sometimes people don't get paid, a lot

of times they don't get paid. That's the way the game is played. However, I tell my

clients to think of it this way, when you're thinking about bankruptcy court

think of it this way you're having a party at the Bankruptcy Court you're the

host. You're inviting all your creditors in and you tell them don't worry about

it don't bring anything. I'll provide the refreshments. When all those creditors

arrive at the Bankruptcy Court sometimes there's no refreshments for the

creditors, sometimes there are. And here's the way I want you to look at it when

you file bankruptcy I want you to think of mentally putting everything you own

on this desk. Everything, including your clothes, your jewelry, pictures or picture

frames. Everything you have is on the desk. My job is your attorney is to come

in and take things off and say this is protected because of this, your 401k is

protected, your IRA is protected, your house is protected, your car is protected,

your personal property is protected. My goal in a bankruptcy is to take

everything off the table. If I take everything off the table

guess what's available for those creditors. Nothing.

And that's perfectly fine. That's called a no asset bankruptcy. Sometimes, there's

stuff that sits on the table. I always refer back to the person I was sitting

there said let's say for example I can take everything off the table but your

baby grand piano and the woman looked at me she goes, "Carmen I have a baby grand

piano." Well, I just made that up but I'm glad I did because now we have an actual

asset that we have to deal with and then we deal with that. Now what happens? I'm

talking like it sounds like all the creditors are just gonna get nothing

that's not true, in future videos we're going to talk specifically about what

creditors get but the overall picture is this: a debtor goes into bankruptcy court

with assets. We protect some of the assets or all of the assets by taking

them off the table. We have to deal with what's left.

Now sometimes creditors get something sometimes they get nothing but the

difference is this at the end of the day the debtor, meaning the person who filed

the bankruptcy, is going to get their discharge and their fresh start

so that they can move on with life and that's the most important part of the

bankruptcy process. Getting through it but getting that debtor the discharge.

Once they have that discharged that's kind of like a ticket to the future and

that's the hardest part about it- getting them there. Once we get them there then

life changes folks. Trust me when I tell you, it's a new lease on life. If you're

it's because right before I filmed this video

I tripped over my cell phone cord thing

that's plugging my cell phone in, and I just really, really hurt my quad

I like pulled my quad, so if I yell it's because of that

hi everybody, I'm Amanda the G and it's time to get crafty again

seasonally appropriate beverage!

now I should be polite and pour this into a cup

so what are we making today?

today we are taking flowers and making planters but with a fall twist

of using a skull

now I found this online and it says you can take like one of those

plastic skulls and cut the top off and all of that, and I went to the craft store

and the only ones I could find were terrible looking

so instead, I found this lovely skull planter

now, it's already done for me

it's already taken the top off

but if you wanna use a plastic one, you can, or one of those other ones

you can, you can just cut the top off of it

but what you're gonna need to do with that is put a plastic

baggie on the inside so that it doesn't leak out the bottom

this doesn't have that problem, so we get to skip a step

other than something to plant this in, you will need wet foam

it comes dry, it's called wet foam

this is for real flowers, if you want to use fake flowers like this

then you just use

the regular dry foam

a pair of scissors or something to cut the wet foam

I don't really know if this is going to work very well

water in a bowl!

cause it's called wet foam, you gotta make it wet

sharp objects, more of them

for to cut the flowers

and fresh flowers of your choosing

I'm gonna put these on my little prep table

cause there's no fucking room left on my table table

these are the most fall ones I could find

because apparently the grocery store hasn't realized

with the flower department that it's fall and they need to be like darker than this

where my black flowers at?

divest yourself from your plastic enclosure!

I'm not happy about the mess

so let's just cut off some of these edges

to make it fit in the skull

ok, sticking out a little bit on top, that's cool

cause that's where the flowers go

so take this

and you put it in the water

wet foam, you have to wet it for the flowers

and you wanna let it like absorb the water in there

I'm going to get something to put this shit in

it's at this point that you're gonna want your seasonally appropriate beverage

it is seasonally appropriate now!

if you don't like pumpkin beer, I don't wanna hear it

this should be year round

this is why you want to use a plastic baggie

inside it if you have something with holes

so you'd put the plastic baggie and shove this inside, cut the top of the plastic baggie off so you can't see it

and that way it doesn't drip all over the fucking place

but since that's not an issue, you just put your block

in the thing

and it's all wet

there you go

I like this project because any fucking idiot can do it

like me

so flowers!

so the reason you need this sharp device

is a few things

this is clearly too fucking big so you need to cut it down

but you don't just cut it down, first off, we need to get rid of some of these extra stuff that's on here too

cause it doesn't need this

but you don't just cut it down, you have to cut it at an angle

so that it can absorb all of the water that's in this wet thing

that's why it's fucking wet, people, ok?

it's a wet foam so that it absorbs the water into the plant so the plant doesn't die as quick

and then you just cram it in

there you go, did you, did you expect this to be harder?!

cause that's literally it

pokey poke, cram, pokey poke, cram

that's literally it

cut it at an angle

arrange it in a pretty way

cram it in

I'm gonna leave the little ones for the end, so I can like cover up the boo boos

like always, they mix in stupid flowers

there's fucking carnations in this shiz

but we'll put some in here anyway

even though they're stupid flowers

take your leaves away you damn carnation

speaking of stupid flowers

these will get to keep their leaves

congratulations bitches, you're stupid, but you get your leaves

I might not have enough flowers

that's why we're using all the stupid ones

cause there might not actually be enough

ok, here's what we've got so far, we got the front

sides, and back, and I gotta kinda look at this, I gotta kinda fill out the sides a little bit

so that's what I'm gonna do with these

gonna put some in the sides

and fill some of this out

so that it doesn't look so stupid

the front's actually lookin' pretty good, the sides need a little extra lovin'

well we don't have enough to fix the back

so the back just looks like fucking shit, so don't look at the back

but if we put it this way

here's the- it's pretty

oh there's another flower!

I didn't realize I had another flower

(deep inhale) that' makes me happy, put it in the front

ok

here's all of our flowers, this is two fucking bouquets worth of flowers

so, moral of the story, get a fucking shit ton of flowers

let me clean up the table and then we'll talk about our project

also, I need more beer

this is our lovely skull planter all filled with beautiful flowers

now, just a warning, eh, you know, these are gonna die

cause they're real

so you can add more water to it, that's why there's like the wet thing in there

it'll last for a while, but you can add more water to it

it's still gonna die

once it dies

you put more foam in it and you can do it again

or this is really, this could probably be a vase

so I could probably do without one, it just won't look

like this when it's all done, cause that's what the foam does

it fucking makes it all poofy fuck

so it looks BEAUTIFUL from the fucking front

it looks pretty damn good on the sides

fuck the back

cause we didn't have enough fucking flowers, so fuck the back, ignore the back

but look at how pretty it is, it's a pretty purple skull

I am so excited for this (laughs)

I love skulls, I have them out all the time

clearly, there's some actually behind me

I love halloween

I love all this shit

and I'm so glad it's fucking back, I love me some PUMPKIN SHIT!

uuuhh pumpkin is the best thing ever and it should totally be a year round flavor

also pennies are stupid, get rid of them
