Hello and welcome.
In this video I introduce the 20 cm wide Magnetic bars that I bought to organize
my Aquascape scissors and tweezers to have them on hand when needed.
The stainless steel magnetic bars for kitchen knives, who are normally used for this purpose
are usually all over 30 cm wide and so they do not fit in my closet.
They look fancier, but they are not cheap.
That's why I chose the these magnetic bars which are actually made for the tools in a workshop.
They look a little bit more rustic but there fore they are available from 20 cm wide upwards.
They make a good job in my opinion.
As the name implies: The bars are made for tools and are therefore they
are extra strong.
I can throw my tweezers and scissors on it, and they keep hanging on the bar.
Here I show it again from a little bit further away so you can see it better.
If you keep the spatula in 2 cm distance in front of it, it will attracted with force and it is
even a bit tedious to get it off again.
If you bang the cabinet door, all the tools stay on their place.
And not just once, or twice, but even after the third time all are still on
their place.
Pliers are also not so easy shake off, only after the 5th
time she would have fallen off.
And a wrench has almost no chance to escape.
The bars are designed for wall mounting, and you need good dowels.
It is al little bit difficult to take my scissors off the
bar.
If you take the scissors on top, which one will probably do most of the time, it works
quite well.
The tool magnet bar is packed in a small box
and is wrapped in bubble wrap.
If you take them out, you will first recognize a foil with the company logo
that is glued over the magnets.
Located to the left and right of the magnets there are the holes for the screws,
with which the bar dan be attached the on the wall or inside a cabinet door.
As I said, the dowels should be heavy duty.
I did not like the foil so much and that's why I removed it.
It was very easy to get it off after I made a hot with a hair dryer.
The glue will get soft and the foil is easy to remove.
But then you can see the raw magnets which do not look very nice.
I do not care, because they are hanging inside my Cabinet.
If you do not like it, a Stainless steel bar maybe better for you.
To avoid that the magnets do rust when they get in contact with the wet Aquascape scissors and tweezers
I took a piece self-adhesive foil
and glued it over the magnets.
If you use for example black foil it might look
much better.
I secured the bars temporarily with cable ties until
I will eventually have a better aquarium stand where I can screw them into the doors from inside.
At the moment this looks a little bit strange, especially from the outside, but that's the way I always have them on hand.
Because every time I sit in front of the aquarium, I also find something that has to be trimmed or
has to be picked out.
I'm definitely happy with it my purchase.
The bars are super strong, fit to the place I have, organize my cabinet
and everything is always immediately on hand.
I think they will do a good job in a workshop too.
You will find a link to the bars in the video description.
They are available in different length.
And they are much cheaper they than stainless steel bars
for kitchen knifes.
That's it for this video. Thanks for watching!
Cheers!
