Hey Crazies.

In my last video, I explained how mass and energy were the same thing

and that got a bunch of you wondering:

What the heck is energy?

I've said a lot about energy on this channel, but it's spread over multiple videos.

It's time to put it all in one place.

Hmm, where do we start this?

Definitions?

We have to be careful though.

Physics tends to use a lot of ordinary words in not so ordinary ways

and "Energy" is no exception.

There are a lot of ways we use this word in the English language.

I feel the energy of the spirits.

Definitely not what we're talking about.

Oh man, I am so out of energy.

Good example, but not really a definition.

I get energy for the power grid.

Again, good example, but not a definition.

A typical definition for physical energy is the ability or capacity to do work,

but that just raises more questions.

What the heck is work?!

You don't got to go to work work work work.

Ok, the point is we can't understand energy without understanding work.

We need both together.

But let's make something clear.

Energy and work are just properties.

They're numbers.

Objects and particles are physical things that exist.

Objects and particles have properties, like energy and work.

Work work work work.

Take a ball, for example.

We can label where it is by assigning a property called "position."

We can label its motion by assigning a property called "velocity."

An object can have motion and that motion is real,

but the velocity we assign to it is not.

It's just a useful number.

Properties are useful because they measure something we want to know.

All of these properties here, measure all of these things here.

We need to figure out exactly what energy and work are measuring.

Work is a little easier to understand, so let's try to figure that one out first.

Everybody's working for the weekend!

A typical definition for work is that it's done on an object by a force,

as long as that force contributes in some way to how the object moves.

Let's say you wanted to do work on this book.

All you'd have to do is push on it with enough force to make it move.

That force times the book's displacement is the work done on the book.

We know a force measures the influence or interaction amount,

so it makes perfect sense that forces are involved in work.

The key here is this displacement.

In order for work to be done on the book, it has to move from one place to another.

If the object doesn't go anywhere, then no work is done on it.

No matter how much it feels like work to you.

A working class hero is something to be!

Stuff has to happen for work to be done.

In fact, that tells us exactly what it is.

Work is the amount of stuff that has happened or, if you're making predictions,

the amount of stuff that will happen.

So what's that make energy?

Well, let's look back at the definition.

If energy is the ability or capacity to do work

and work is the amount of stuff that has or will happen,

then energy is the amount of stuff that could potentially happen.

There is an upper limit to how much stuff could happen

and that upper limit is measured as energy.

Thanks for liking and sharing this.

Wait a minute! What stuff?!

Do you think the crazies are going to be satisfied with you just leaving it like that?!

OK, I guess you're right.

OK, so there is a lot of stuff that could happen:

Lifting, swimming, climbing, dancing, swinging, waving, running, slithering,

doing other things,

boiling, electrifying, chemical reactions, nuclear explosions.

Let's just say there are a lot of options.

Right, so how could all those things be the same thing?!

They're all examples of energy being used to do work.

If you're lifting a box, you're turning chemical energy in your body

into gravitational nergy.

That change does work on the box, moving it upward.

You didn't use all the energy inside your body to do that work.

Just a little bit.

All of the energy in your body is all the stuff you could possibly do.

The work is what you actually do.

That box now has energy it can use to do stuff, like fall down.

The gravitational energy is gradually turned into kinetic energy on the way down.

That's not even all the energy inside that box.

Sure, it has gravitational and kinetic energy, but it also has thermal energy because it's

not an absolute zero and a whole list of other energies

tied up in the material.

None of which are getting used to do work.

The only work done is the box falling.

That's the stuff that's happening.

So how do we measure these things, anyway?

Well, we don't, at least not directly.

Unlike position or velocity, energy and work are properties that are hidden from view.

We have to calculate their value by measuring something else.

If it's gravitational energy, we measure a distance from some reference location,

usually the ground,

and calculate the energy using some equation.

Twice as high means twice the energy, meaning it can do twice as much stuff.

If it's kinetic energy, we calculate it with a measured speed.

Twice the speed means four times the energy, or four times as much stuff.

There are equations for finding all types of energy

and every single one adds to what an object could possibly do.

If you can change energy from one type to another

or move it from one object to another, you're doing work.

Something will be happening.

Working in a coalmine, going down down.

There are a lot of different places we can find energy,

so it helps to split them into categories.

We could take the list and organize it based on where we find them,

but there's something we can do that's a bit more useful.

All energies can be described by two generic types:

Potential Energy, related to location, and Kinetic Energy, related to motion.

That's all there really is.

Remember, the purpose of energy is to show us what could happen

and the only way things happen is if they move from one place to another.

Location and motion pretty much cover that, so can you label all of these

as potential and/or kinetic energy.

Nuclear energy is just the potential energy of protons and neutrons.

Chemical energy is just the potential energy in chemical bonds.

Thermal energy is wiggly kinetic energy plus some material potential energy.

But don't location and motion depend on your point of view?

Yep, and that's more evidence that energy isn't something tangible.

Energy is not a thing by itself.

It's a property of things, so there's no reason in particular we'd

all have to agree on how much is there.

If location and motion are relative to the observer,

then so are potential and kinetic energy.

There's always some kind of reference point where you define zero.

For kinetic energy, it's usually your own speed.

Two observers moving at different speeds aren't going to agree on the motion of a third object,

so they're not going to agree on its energy either.

That's perfectly fine because energy isn't a tangible thing.

It's just a number.

A similar thing happens for potential energy.

For gravitational energy, the reference is usually the ground,

but there's nothing special about that choice.

You could move that reference around and it's totally fine.

What matters is the difference in energy between two events across time.

That's the work done.

That's what's actually happening.

She works hard for the money!

So what the heck is energy?!

Energy is amount of stuff that could happen.

But, in the end, all that really matters is what does happen

and that takes work.

So, got any questions about energy?

Please ask in the comments.

The featured comment comes from Dale Hildebrand who said:

The idea of relativistic mass can lead to false conclusions.

Well, yeah, sure it can.

I even said in the video that it can get really confusing.

But that doesn't mean relativistic mass isn't real.

It just means that it stopped being useful.

Anyway, thanks for watching!

This doesn't work.

It looks like your dad blocked the card.

To be honest,

I can pay you for all the help I've gotten from you.

But I can't hire you.

I really can't afford it.

Why did you have to pack up and leave the house?

I don't even know anymore.

Can I go to a housewarming party empty-handed?

Can you give me one of those instead of paying me?

Whose housewarming party are you going to?

A senior in my department.

It's not brand new,

but it was bought recently.

- What? Are you lending it to me? - No.

It's a gift.

- Isn't it good? - Yes.

We'll do it. You should have some too.

It's okay. I'll do it. Don't worry about me and eat up.

How manly.

Thank you for the food, Woo Young.

- I'll do it. - Don't worry. It's okay.

Give me that.

Look at this.

He even cut the meat into bite-sized pieces. How thoughtful.

Yes.

Are you making japchae or what?

I'll just do it.

You should eat. Eat up.

I'll hold on to the TV for now. Take it back whenever you need it.

It's too much as a gift.

Woo Young, do you not watch TV?

I can watch shows on my phone. I don't want to pay the license fee.

Me neither. But Hyun Jung keeps saying we should get a TV.

What?

Mi Rae is thrifty to the point that it's annoying.

Even when we're buying daily necessities,

she has to buy them online at the cheapest prices.

I'm the same way. I only buy things on hot deals.

Me too. There's a flash sale tomorrow morning.

The weekly special sale is cheaper.

Well, bulk deals are way cheaper.

A bundle of 2L-bottled waters is only 1.5 dollars.

Are you serious?

Then let's place orders together to go over 30 dollars

when we don't have much to buy.

Great idea. Then shipping will be free.

You two are so excited.

Oh, if you want to watch a movie,

do it on the last Wednesday of each month. You'll get 50 percent off.

You're so impressive.

It's nothing to be impressed with. I'm broke, so I have to be frugal.

I go for buy-1-get-1-free deals at convenience stores.

When you buy one, you can get another one for free.

What a downer.

Isn't that a guitar?

Can you play the guitar?

A little. It's just my hobby.

- Show us. - Yes, please.

I'm not good enough.

- Show us. - Show us.

- Show us. Show us. - Show us. Show us.

I'll show you another time. I really mean it.

Show us, please.

(Episode 8: Basic Instinct)

That was great.

Just leave it. I'll wash the dishes later.

It's okay. I can finish this quickly.

I'll do it.

- Shall we take the garbage out? - Yes.

Kyung Seok is very different from what I thought he'd be like.

He gets along with people well.

Why? Was he quite prickly back in middle school?

I wouldn't say he was "prickly" per se. How should I put it?

Shall I say he was unapproachable?

I can't believe a guy like that remembered Mi Rae.

I was so surprised.

I get that he hates his mom, but she's hospitalized.

He could visit her at least once.

Why did he come here instead?

You still haven't opened that yet?

I'll do it.

Let's meet up often since we're neighbors now.

How about watching a movie on the last Wednesday of every month?

- I'd love that. - Me too.

Mi Rae.

We need to watch a movie as well.

It's our assignment for Studies on Pop Culture.

Oh, right.

Let's watch a movie together.

It's just an assignment, so it'd be weird to turn him down.

Sure.

You need to watch a movie and write a report on it, don't you?

Write the report as long as you can.

The professor might act like he doesn't care about the length,

but he still gives long reports good grades.

Thank you.

I knew that.

I already heard.

Does he want to watch the movie with just me...

or with other friends?

See you.

Do you want to meet up after school tomorrow?

Okay, sure.

My class finishes at 4pm.

My last class is at...

Aren't you done by 5pm?

Yes, my class finishes at 5pm.

Then I'll wait.

Okay.

What? Is it going to be just the two of us?

Where do you guys live?

We live up there.

See you.

Bye.

Bye.

They live really nearby.

I'm so happy for you, Mi Rae.

It's your first time watching a movie with a guy.

On top of that, it's with a really handsome guy.

We're just doing our assignment.

Do you think...

Kyung Seok likes you?

What do you think about him?

Are you not interested?

Fine, I'm interested in him. Okay?

How about we just call today our first day of dating?

My gosh, you touched your feet with those hands.

Stop it.

- My gosh. - Move.

Hey, hurry up and wash up.

Stop touching me with your feet. Stop it.

Go and wash up.

I'll wash first.

Let meet at Sinchon Cinetown...

at 6pm.

What?

This really feels like a date.

I think my business is failing.

How about you skip class tomorrow and go to the beach with me?

I have plans to watch a movie.

A movie? With who?

I need to do my assignment for Studies on Pop Culture.

You must have money to buy movie tickets.

- No, I don't. - What?

I don't have money. Lend me some.

My gosh, how did you end up penniless?

Here.

Lend me 50 dollars.

What are you talking about?

I also need money for popcorn and dinner.

Popcorn, my foot.

Be honest with me. You're going on a date, aren't you?

- It's just an assignment. - Sure, it is.

Hey, stop it.

(My first time watching a movie with a guy.)

(It's a date.)

It's not a date.

It's just an assignment.

(It's a date.)

It's just an assignment.

Let's see how this looks.

Hey, I...

I need to go to the bookstore.

I forgot to buy some reference books.

Should I go with you?

No. No, it's okay.

You... You need to get to class.

You should go first.

Okay, I'll see you later.

Okay.

Oh, I almost forgot.

Will you be home late since you're watching a movie with Kyung Seok?

I'm going to go home as soon as the movie ends.

What?

Were you also planning to do some other stuff?

Gosh, just go.

Mi Rae, you can come home late.

Just go. We're only going to watch a movie.

Are you looking for something?

I'm looking for pink lipstick.

The lipsticks are placed over here.

And you know there are so many different kinds of pink, right?

There's salmon pink, coral pink,

rose pink, magenta pink, and cherry pink.

Coral pink comes with both pearls and no pearls.

I see.

Gosh, you look like a peach.

- Pardon? - Don't you know your fruit?

Joy from Red Velvet looks like an apple,

and Sulli looks like a peach.

You also look like a peach.

Really?

But you must not have a lot of experience putting on makeup.

You have a warm undertone,

but your makeup is for people who have cool undertones.

I see.

Just wait here. I'll fix your makeup for you.

Okay, thank you.

Girls start wearing makeup as soon as they enter middle school,

and that's when they also start perming their bangs.

But I had never done any of that.

What's this brand?

Look at the case. It's so pretty.

I was scared that others would make fun of my looks...

even after I wore makeup and permed my hair.

Gosh, you look so pretty.

Let's finish up by putting some lip gloss on you.

Gosh, you look so pretty and cute. Have a look in the mirror.

Look in the mirror and smile.

How pretty. You really look like a peach.

You're so pretty.

The cotton pads are 10 dollars.

The cotton pads are 10 dollars?

They're quite pricey, aren't they?

But if you buy over a certain amount,

you'll be getting a travel kit for free.

This actually costs over 30 dollars,

so you'll be saving 15 dollars if you buy all this.

Why did I buy this?

How many perfumes do I need to sell?

- Hey. - Yes?

Can you not tell anyone about what you saw that day?

What did I see?

We had an afterparty on the day of the festival.

Tae Young and I are slowly getting to know each other.

So please keep it a secret for now.

What exactly are you talking about?

The fact that I'm dating Tae Young.

You're dating Tae Young?

Be quiet.

Really? Are you serious?

You... Do you not remember?

I cannot believe this.

Hey, it's a secret. Don't tell anyone.

How did that happen?

You make me look forward to it

- When you walked me home - Walked me home

Give me

- A warm embrace - A warm embrace

You make my heart flutter

I'm not drunk at all.

Okay. So what is this about?

I've never done this in my entire life.

Don't laugh at me after hearing me out.

Don't laugh.

I like you.

- I told you not to laugh at me. - I didn't laugh at you.

Yes, you did. You laughed.

- I didn't mean it like that. - My gosh.

That's not it.

You fool.

What are you two doing?

Hey, I can't see.

Ye Na.

Well...

- You can't tell anyone, okay? - I got it.

You saw everything.

Come on, hurry up.

- Did you get everything? - Yes.

- Soo A. - Hello.

Hey, come in already.

You're the best, Hyun Soo A.

Soo A. Don't get a boyfriend.

I mean it.

I'm begging you, okay?

Hey, let's go.

Pretty ones have to be everyone's, okay?

Bye.

- Hello. - Hi.

You got home safely that night, right?

Sorry? That night? Yes.

You got home safely too, right?

I was so busy trying to take care of the drunk students that night.

I didn't get to see you off.

Being the student president is hard, isn't it?

It's not that hard.

If there's anything I can help you with, please tell me anytime.

Okay.

Call me when you want to grab a drink too.

What?

I'm a huge fan of yours.

Okay.

I see.

Is she sick or something?

No, she's just hungover.

She drank with her friends from her hometown over the weekend.

I'm about to die. They'd better not come visit me again.

Did a lot of your friends come?

Hey, she said six guy friends came to visit her.

You have a lot of guy friends.

I only have guy friends.

But I don't have a boyfriend.

Is there anyone you like?

I like all of them, but I don't want to date them.

If I want to date them, I can't stay friends with them.

Help me up, please?

By the way, you look nice today.

What do you mean?

Why didn't you come to the afterparty, by the way?

You said you'd come even if it was late.

Something came up that night.

I understand then.

Let's go.

("Making 500,000 Dollars with 50 Dollars")

Are you already preparing for the finals?

No, I just needed to read up on something.

You left the afterparty early without saying bye.

Must I say goodbye?

I just had to do something.

(Kang Mi Rae)

Like what?

Something I had to do.

I thought you and I had become friends.

Kyung Seok, do you want to go watch a movie with me?

Let's do the assignment for the Studies on Pop Culture.

I'm already watching a movie with someone else.

- Who is it? - Kang Mi Rae.

I see.

Right now, I'm on my way to meet a guy friend.

Mi Rae.

What are you doing there?

I didn't see you there.

Which movie do you want to watch?

- I bought the tickets. - You did?

Good job, buddy.

How much do I owe you?

That's fine.

How can I help you?

- One original combo, please. - That'd be 8 dollars and 50 cents.

Hey, why are you paying for everything?

That's fine.

It's not fine.

It's 13 dollars and 25 cents.

I'll give you 25 cents later.

I said, it's fine.

Quit saying that.

Take it. Friends usually go Dutch.

Is it too early to go in yet?

We have some time left.

Oh, right. Don't we have to attach the movie ticket on our report?

Do we have to?

Probably?

- Should I split it in half? - You'll split it?

Then how about one of us submits a photo of it?

I'll take a photo, then.

Mi Rae.

Let's get a good mark on the assignment.

We can do it.

Oh, Soo A.

What are you doing here?

I came to drop off the pickles I made.

I told you I can take care of myself.

Gosh, don't walk so fast.

The apartment in Dogok-dong...

Was it all a lie?

Don't move.

I said, don't move. Try to stay still.

What is the message the director wants to impart through the movie?

Which elements excite the viewers and can make this movie a hit?

I should pick the most memorable scene.

Which scene would I want to watch again...

Why do I...

keep wanting to look at him?

It must be an instinct.

A basic instinct.

Our eyes are always drawn to pretty things.

It doesn't mean we have an affection for them.

We just can't help but stare at them.

Instinctually, that is.

You don't want any popcorn?

Oh, right.

In most romantic movies, this is when...

This is usually how the plot unfolds.

You're not going to have any?

I'm going to eat some.

This trick allows you to prevent such an incident.

What are you doing?

What? You told me to eat popcorn.

I'm eating it now.

<font color="#fcc89b">[VIU Ver] jTBC E08 My ID is Gangnam Beauty</font> <font color="#8080ff">"Basic Instinct"</font> <font color="#ff5fa2">-♥ Ruo Xi ♥-</font>

It was such a fun movie.

There will be a lot to write about.

I know.

Is it now time to part ways?

Aren't you hungry?

What?

Do you like pasta?

Pasta?

Isn't that what people usually eat on a date?

We can have something else if you want.

It's okay.

I like everything. I'm an omnivore.

All right, then. Let's go.

This restaurant is so nice.

Have you been here before?

No, I found it online.

He looked up restaurants online?

To take me?

(I currently have 37 dollars left.)

(2 of the most expensive pasta will come to 28 dollars in total.)

(2 of the most expensive beverage will come to 12 dollars in total.)

(The grand total will be 40 dollars.)

I'll get aglio e olio pasta.

(Aglio e olio: 11 dollars)

(2 servings of aglio e olio equal 22 dollars.)

(The grand total will be 34 dollars.)

Excuse me.

Yes, what would you like to order?

We'll each get aglio e olio pasta and...

What do you want to drink?

I'll just stick with water.

Get something else. I'll get the lemon-flavored soda.

Then I'll get the same.

We'll get two of it, then.

Sure, no problem.

(2 glasses of soda will be 8 dollars in total,)

(so the grand total will be 30 dollars.)

Did you take a lot of notes earlier?

What?

You took notes while watching the movie.

Show me what you wrote.

You have to write about what you thought about the movie.

You shouldn't be influenced by my opinion.

I never said I'd copy what you wrote. I'm just curious.

What's there to be curious about? I just wrote down obvious things.

Your handwriting.

I want to see what it looks like.

But why?

I'm just curious.

Do I have to have a reason?

Excuse me for a moment. I have to use the restroom.

Is it possible?

To think of a guy like that just as a friend.

Can someone like me really do that?

Isn't that guy so handsome?

Totally. Oh, my.

His girlfriend must be super pretty.

- He's really good-looking. - He's unbelievably handsome.

I know, right?

Why didn't you eat?

Because you weren't here yet.

Hey,

when's your birthday?

We're friends, but I don't know your birthday.

You want to know so many things. Just eat up.

I won't ever let myself...

get high hopes by telling him my birthday.

Then don't tell Woo Young either.

- Don't tell him what? - Your birthday.

(Searching for a roommate, Monthly pay: 100 dollars)

(I'm searching for a roommate...)

(who wants to live at a rooftop near our school.)

- Let's split the bill. - It's 30 dollars.

- Here you go. - Hey.

Why didn't you pay for the pork belly that Woo Young bought?

- What? - You didn't pay for that.

So why are you trying to pay for this?

That's because he's the one who invited us.

I'm the one who suggested to watch a movie...

and eat dinner together.

Goodbye.

Bye.

The weather forecast didn't say it would rain today.

I have seven dollars left.

Will that be enough to pay for the cab fare?

Just a moment.

Hello.

Can I have one more of this?

That's the only one we have left.

- You can take this. - What about you?

I can run to the bus stop.

Let's go together. I'll walk you there.

Let's go.

No, it's okay. It's too small for two people.

You can take it.

Then you take it.

Hey. Hey.

You're getting all wet. Get under here.

Then you'll get wet.

You should come closer.

The umbrella is so small, isn't it?

Yes.

Are you wearing perfume?

No, I don't wear perfume that often these days.

Is it because I told you that I don't like it?

Well, not exactly.

I...

went to the hospital that day.

What?

I met her.

I see.

Don't you want to know how it went?

I figured you wouldn't want me to ask.

How did it go?

It went quite well.

Really?

You should wear that perfume.

I'll do what I want. I'm not going to do as you say.

Forget it, then.

I'm relieved.

About what?

I'm relieved that you don't hate your mom.

Thanks.

No problem.

Seo Yoo Jin moved out of his apartment...

and is living at his bar.

Seeing that he moved out,

I'm guessing his business isn't doing that well.

So I'm worried whether he'll even be able to buy meals for Kyung Seok.

The elections are coming up soon,

but your kids are only causing trouble.

You must be going through a lot these days.

Do you know where Hye Sung lives?

Let's go there.

Okay.

It's...

not raining anymore.

You're right.

You should go now.

It stopped raining.

Here. You bought this.

Okay.

- See you. - Bye.

Wait.

Take it.

It might rain again.

Okay.

Thanks.

No problem.

I'm the one who should thank you for walking me all the way here.

See you.

I'll get a heart disease at this rate.

I definitely realized it.

I can't...

think of Kyung Seok as just a guy friend.

Stay healthy.

Who is it?

Hello, Ms. Na Hye Sung.

Who is this?

I'm sorry to visit you at this hour. I know we haven't met.

My name is Jung Young Mo.

It's me.

What do you think you're doing?

Is this your way of getting back at me?

How did you find me here?

Did you have someone look into me?

Do you still have no respect for me?

That you would barge into my home in the middle of the night?

Send Kyung Seok home.

- What? - Are you pretending to be clueless?

After Kyung Seok met with you yesterday, he left home.

You told him that I hit you...

when you saw him again after 10 years?

I didn't tell him that.

You didn't?

Only two of us know what happened between us.

Then you told him.

Where is Kyung Seok now?

If you know where he is, will you take him?

That's up to Kyung Seok.

Get out if that's all you came to say.

It's been 10 years since you last met, right?

- Keep yourself under control. - Yes, sir.

What's up this weather?

Let's go.

Gosh, it's so uncomfortable.

You're back.

What are you doing?

How did you sleep on the couch? I almost fell when I turned.

I don't move when I sleep.

You should take the room tonight.

That's fine. Don't make me call 911 after you fall off there.

I might move back home.

If I move back in after using up the deposit,

my dad really might kill me.

When will you go back?

I don't know. I should ask my mom first.

You should move back in too.

- Stop being a rebel. - I won't move back in.

If you don't, how will you get by?

I'll get a part-time job. I'll get a place too.

Just put up with me until then.

Hey, you think you're better than me, right?

Making a living in this world isn't that easy. Got that?

Get the lights. I'm going to sleep.

Is there a specific job you'd like?

No.

No questions regarding your family or your personal life.

You can't submit the copy of your family registry.

No jobs that require you to talk a lot.

You can't work every day or overtime,

but you want a job that pays well?

Yes.

I think...

it'd be better if you look for a job yourself.

Pardon?

There must be a lot of job postings...

on the recruiting website or the school website.

- I'll go a little later. - Okay.

(Job Placement Office)

Why is he coming out of this office?

Why are you coming out of here?

Why did he come out of this office?

- Thank you. - Sure.

Ta-da.

Isn't this cool?

Here.

- Jung Ho. - Yes?

You know the expression, "Little strokes fell great oaks"?

That applies to trees, not to people.

Then you should give up on Kyung Seok.

- Why? - He's a person too.

You little runt!

I saw Kyung Seok coming out from the job placement office.

Why would he go there?

A rich guy wouldn't need a part-time job.

He's polishing up his reputation.

Like even a son of a congressman has a part-time job too.

He's not a congressman anymore.

He will be a mayor soon.

That jerk, Kyung Seok. That explains his behavior.

What's up with this jerk? Why does he order me around?

Let's put some distance. Put some distance.

It won't be awkward after some time.

(Studio in Prime Location, Cool Studio for 600 Dollars a Month)

(Rooftop house near school, looking for a roommate)

(The rent is 100 dollars. We'll discuss details in person.)

What are you doing?

Was the movie you watched yesterday fun?

Yes.

I'm a bit busy right now.

Drink this, buddy. Goodness.

Look at that. I've never seen him walk that fast.

It always looked like he was annoyed by everything around him.

What? He's even running now?

Hey, Do Kyung Seok is running. He's running.

What's going on? What is this?

Just like any other day, I'm talking to myself.

What are you doing?

Hey, didn't Do Kyung Seok wear that the other day?

That's not 55 dollars. It's 550 dollars?

Come on.

Buddy.

No matter how great it is, don't copy someone else.

I didn't say I was going to buy it.

I won't buy it.

"I won't buy it." It's more like you can't afford it.

Hey, you drink it.

What do you know about my family's finances?

Oh, my. How are the finances?

How are they? Tell me.

We're better off than yours.

What do you know about my family's finances?

If you keep skipping classes, you can't graduate.

Do you want to stay one more semester?

It's just that it's embarrassing.

Could you come to classes after being humiliated by a freshman?

Then apologize to him like an upper class and clear the air.

Don't avoid him.

I should've done that then. It's too late now.

Is it true? Is Do Kyung Seok...

What?

Nothing.

What is this?

Unbelievable.

(Office of Chemistry Department, Teaching Assistant: Yeon Woo Young)

Long time no see.

Yes.

You've been well, right?

Yes.

I've been wanting to see you.

Can we talk for a second?

I'm busy right now.

You're busy.

Then I'll see you later.

Okay.

Had I known, I wouldn't have done that.

You want to move into my place?

- Why? - I moved out.

You moved out, but you don't have a place?

- No. - If you moved out, why don't...

Did you run away from home?

I don't want a short-term roommate.

It's not short-term. It's long-term.

Take a seat.

Did you read up on the terms?

But as for the first month,

could you accept the TV I gave you as my rent?

- Come again? - A microwave or a coffee maker?

I saw that you don't have either.

Do you have no money?

- I'll pay as soon as I get paid. - So you did run away from home.

I said I moved out to live on my own.

Have you already found one? I mean, a roommate.

No, not yet.

Then let's do this.

(Agreement)

Just pay 70 dollars a month,

but you must take care of all the housework, okay?

(Agreement)

(Yeon Woo Young, Do Kyung Seok)

Well, just pay 30 dollars more if you don't want to do housework.

I'll do it. I'll take care of all the housework.

Oh, it must be that way.

Put the side dishes in the fridge and come back out quickly.

I should cut up the watermelon at least.

They won't eat it if I leave it like that.

I can't park on the street for that long.

All right. I'll be quick.

My gosh, it's that guy.

- Pull over for a moment. - Why? Who is he?

My gosh, it's so nice to run into you like this.

Do you remember me?

Oh, yes. Hello.

- Hello. - Oh, hello.

Thank you so much for everything the other day.

Where are you headed? Get in. We'll give you a ride.

Oh, it's okay. I live right there.

Mom.

- Are you getting home now? - What's up?

- Hello. - Hi.

- He's a senior in my department. - Really?

You and my daughter are in the same department.

Yes, hello.

- It's nice to meet you. - Likewise.

Does he live alone too?

Yes.

How old is he?

I guess he's around 26?

So he's six years older.

Take some of these side dishes to him.

Oh, take some watermelon too.

To Woo Young?

He probably never buys watermelons because he lives alone.

I'll cut it up for you. Take some to him.

- Okay. - Hurry up already!

Can't he just drive around the block if he can't park?

Make sure you take it to him.

Yes, Ms. Na.

- How have you been? - Good.

How are you feeling? Are you better now?

Yes, I'm fine now. Thank you so much for your help that day.

No problem.

How's Kyung Seok? Is everything well with him?

Yes, he's doing great.

I heard that you two finally met.

Yes, thank you for that too.

Well, could you give me Kyung Seok's number?

I forgot to ask him that day.

Sure, I'll send it to you right away.

Okay. Take care. Bye.

(Do Kyung Seok)

(Kang Mi Rae)

Who is it?

Hey, Mi Rae.

My mom wanted me to give you this.

- Your mom? - Yes.

Take the containers. Come in for a few minutes.

Make sure you tell your mom that I thanked her.

Okay.

You should put everything in the fridge as soon as possible.

Oh, right.

Let's see.

Hey, what are you doing here?

I live here now.

What?

(My ID is Gangnam Beauty)

Exactly in a month from now, your rent...

and half of the utilities are due. Also, we'll buy our own food, okay?

Look at that. Woo Young is so sweet.

Don't you think that guy, Woo Young, likes Mi Rae?

- Hello. - Hello.

Hi.

Then do you live with your grandparents?

You suddenly have a lot of questions for me.

Do Kyung Seok and Hyun Soo A. They look so lovely together.

You haven't found a part-time job yet?

Shall I set up an interview for you at the place I work?

You owe Mi Rae an apology, not me.

My ID Is Gangnam Beauty Ep 7 EngSub - Duration: 1:01:41.

Are you done?

No, I'm not done. I haven't even taken off...

Tell me when you're done.

What is this situation?

This is like...

going to an island together...

and missing the last ferry back.

But there's only one room. Isn't that what this situation is like?

I must be going crazy. Why do I have such a dirty mind?

Turn around in 20 minutes.

- What? - Stay like that for 20 minutes.

- Hey! - Is this a punishment or what?

- Why should I? - Okay, fine. Just 10 minutes, then.

I don't want you to know exactly when I got changed.

Turn around and stare at the wall.

- I'll give you 20 seconds. - What?

- Hey. - Start.

By the way, how will you know when 20 seconds are up?

12.

13

14.

15.

16.

17.

18.

19.

20.

I'm done.

I think you're wearing it backwards.

What?

I'll give you 30 seconds.

Hey, don't do that.

Just don't turn around until I tell you that I'm done.

Will you leave without watching it?

You can stay and watch it.

Why are you suddenly in a bad mood?

I'm not in a bad mood. I'm just tired.

Soo A.

Why did you only call Soo A? Ji Hyo is here too.

Hi, Ji Hyo.

I do not need you to call my name.

Are you not going to watch the performance?

No, I want to leave because I'm tired.

Already? You should stay for a little longer.

Hey, he's been looking for you all day long.

At least take a photo with him before you leave.

- Hey. - Just be quiet, okay?

Let's take a photo together.

Oh, my goodness. It's your lucky day, man.

Then... Do you guys want to go stand over there?

A little further back.

Oh, my. What a nice scenery.

- Ji Hyo. - Yes?

- Get out. - Me?

Yes, get out of the frame.

Soo A, you look so pretty. This is great.

Hey, Won Ho. Smile a little.

All right, I'm going to take it now. 1, 2...

- Hey! - Hold on! Just a second.

Let's take it together. All of us together.

Hey, what is this about? Gosh, seriously.

Why? Can't we be in this photo?

All right. You can eat this. Here.

- Let's take it together. - See? She wants us in the photo.

Sung Woon, send the photo to us too.

Sure, no problem.

All right, here we go.

1, 2, 3.

- Shall I take another one? - Yes.

Okay, sure.

All right. Here we go!

- Perfect. - Is it perfect?

It's perfect.

Why are you always so serious?

- Have fun, guys. - Okay.

- Did you finish it? - Was it not good?

You were...

cool yesterday.

What you did to that jerk.

What's cool about it?

Because of it, everyone knows that nickname now.

It probably wasn't a surprise to you since you already knew.

I didn't know.

What?

That nickname of yours. I didn't know.

You didn't know what everyone else in our school knew?

Was I an outcast?

Nobody made you an outcast. You probably wanted to be alone.

I know that everyone wanted to be friends with you.

With me? Why?

Because I'm handsome?

If you...

hadn't gotten the wrong idea,

could we have been friends?

You'd never have wanted...

to be friends with me.

There were many pretty girls in our school.

Looks aren't everything.

I don't like...

pretty girls.

So are you saying...

I'm ugly?

Well, you're funny.

What... Do you think I'm funny because I'm ugly?

No.

I just thought your dance on the chair was funny.

I liked that you were funny.

Let's head inside.

What? Were you guys in here together?

Yes.

What are you guys doing here?

I came here to get changed.

What?

Thank you.

Thanks.

She came to get changed?

I guess I'm no longer a loner...

since I have a friend now.

What?

I have you.

I never had a guy friend before.

I can't believe I'm friends with Do Kyung Seok.

That's so pretty.

In 1, 2, 3.

(Episode 7: A Guy Friend)

You should go now. You don't need to walk me home.

It's not like I'm not allowed to.

My bus is here.

I'll go now. See you.

I have a friend now.

What?

I have you.

(First stop: Youngrang Park, Last stop: Sanggu Public Garage)

Sir.

Soo A.

Look at this.

He's Kyung Seok's dad.

("I should meet the merchants in order to know how they feel.")

("Candidate Do Sang Won Goes Campaigning for Votes")

(Meanwhile, Do Sang Won's ex-wife is Na Hye Sung, the CEO of Kelun,)

(and the two got divorced 10 years ago.)

What are you doing?

Kyung Hee came in 23rd out of 26 students.

The other three apparently didn't take the test,

and they don't even come to school.

I know I did something wrong,

but this is just way too much.

You didn't do anything wrong.

Getting bad grades isn't a bad thing.

Right?

Kyung Seok, stop crying right now.

A man shouldn't cry over something so petty.

What's wrong with you?

The least you could do is try to console him.

Guys need to be raised with a strong mindset.

You're not a girl. Why do you cry so easily?

What does gender have anything to do with crying?

He can cry if he feels upset.

I gave him everything he wanted, and now he's just weak.

Don't even think about coming inside.

He's so mean.

- Dad's so mean. - Why did you cry?

Did something upset you?

Yes.

It's okay.

Guys can cry if they want to.

That doesn't mean you're weak.

That's not what Dad says.

A true strong person...

is someone who makes sure...

they don't hurt the people who are weaker than them.

Kyung Seok, you're healthy...

and very handsome.

So you'll have to be extra careful.

- According to the freshmen, - Yes?

Kyung Seok's dad used to be a congressman.

- Really? - Yes.

Who?

His name was Do something.

Well, of course, his last name is Do.

- Gosh. - Do...

What was his name?

I heard his mom's the CEO of Kelun.

- The CEO of Kelun? - Yes.

Gosh, if my mom was the CEO of Kelun,

I would've beat Chan Woo up as well.

Chan Woo must've known.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have let him get away with what he did.

But I haven't seen him around for a really long time.

You're right. You're the one who should know.

- What are you talking about? - He's your best friend.

- What are you saying? - You didn't have to hit me.

Don't skip your meals.

I'll visit you on Saturday.

- His dad used to be a congressman. - Really?

The perfume company.

- I use their perfume. - I love their products.

They're probably talking about me.

His mom's the CEO of Kelun.

He's apparently really rich.

- My gosh. - He comes from a great family.

I heard his parents got divorced.

- Really? - No wonder he's so cold.

Hey, Soo A.

- Hi. - Hey.

He's so good-looking.

- He really is. - He's so handsome.

Hey, Mi Rae.

Hey.

Kyung Seok's dad is a congressman.

And his mom's the CEO of Kelun.

- Really? Who? - Yes.

He's from a rich family.

No wonder he's so rude.

- I get it now. - Yes.

He lacks nothing.

Did you tell everyone?

Well...

Hey.

Give me Kyung Seok's cell phone.

You dropped this yesterday.

You're coming to the afterparty later, right?

You really are the worst.

What?

Hello.

- Hello. - Hello.

Let's talk about the assignment you must submit before the final exam.

Watch one of the movies that are currently playing at theaters...

and submit your report on that movie.

There isn't any format or guideline, okay?

- Yes, ma'am. - Yes, ma'am.

Hey, let's go watch a movie together.

Did you get shot in the head?

Bang, bang.

Kyung Seok.

Are you going to the afterparty?

- What about you? - I think I'm going.

I'll think about it.

Okay.

You took the wrong bus yesterday, didn't you?

No.

I had to go somewhere yesterday.

Hello, Woo Young.

You're here.

Hello.

- Come sit here. - Okay.

Why did you want to see me?

I have to visit the office of Kelun regarding our partnership with them.

The chief director wants you to come together if you have time.

Me?

She wants to know how you made the handmade candles.

It seems like you did a great job.

How about today? What are you doing after school?

We're having the festival afterparty today.

I think I can go there late after visiting the office with you.

- Really? - Yes.

- Then I'll see you later. - Okay.

Mi Rae.

How do you do this?

Wait, that's...

I can follow the choreography except for this part.

Can you teach me how to do it later?

- Well... - Well, later.

- I'll see you later. - Okay, bye.

Why are you here already?

I have no part-time work today, so I came in case you'd struggle alone.

Thank you.

By the way, aren't you hiring any part-timers?

What is it?

- None of them are pretty enough? - That's not it.

I have no money.

What?

I think my business is going bankrupt.

I might have to take out my house deposit to pay for the rent.

Let me take a look at the ledger.

Ledger?

Even elementary school students would do a better job than this.

You have to organize this kind of stuff with Excel.

Excel?

You're pretty smart.

You don't even know such a thing?

If you lack experience, you should hire an experienced part-timer.

Business isn't a joke.

Pass.

You're hired.

Did you think I'd be excited?

This isn't time to play around.

1, 2.

Who taught you that dance?

I just watched video clips...

You managed to learn this only by watching videos?

- Stop it. - Why? It's cool.

I respect those who are good at dancing.

How did you...

Amber Five?

But it smells a bit different.

You're right, it's Amber Five.

I knew you were interested in perfume too.

Well, I'm the teaching assistant of the chemistry department.

But it smelled a bit different from the familiar scent of Amber Five.

People all have their own body scent.

The scent of perfume changes when it touches their skin.

Just like how you dance this move is different from how I do it.

That's not how you do it.

This.

All right, look. Stand still like this.

Put your arms like this.

- Like this. - Like this?

I respect that, seriously.

I plan to hold a housewarming party this Saturday. What do you think?

I'm going to see my parents this Saturday.

Then how about Sunday?

I'm fine with that, but I'm not sure about Hyun Jung.

Really?

How about we create a group chat to talk together about it?

Sure, I'll make it.

Let's not make it grand like a real housewarming party.

Let's just gather up and eat delicious food.

Oh, right. Kyung Seok said he'd come too.

- What? - Why?

It's nothing.

We're friends. Friends.

(Group chat room)

(Woo Young wants to know if we have time this Sunday.)

(I'm good. What about you, Kyung Seok?)

Kyung Seok.

Well...

- I'm sorry. - For what?

I didn't mean to look at your phone on purpose.

It's just that a message popped up on the screen.

I told only a few of my friends,

but word got out in the entire department.

Sorry.

I heard it from Ji Hyo.

I'm sorry that I was mistaken about you.

It's nothing new.

I'm fine.

I was shocked more by...

how you sounded like you expected this from me.

I realized how you thought of me.

You must've kept misunderstanding if it hadn't been for Ji Hyo.

You think all my behaviors are intentional.

How you think about me is up to you.

But it was a little upsetting for me this time.

I...

don't have a mom either.

That's why I know how it feels to have my hurtful experience...

revealed to others.

No one knows about it.

You're the first.

You know what it means, right?

(What about you, Kyung Seok?)

Okay.

Okay.

The CEO got taken to the emergency room just a while ago.

The chief director went with her.

- What? - Why was she taken to the hospital?

I'm not sure.

- Let's go. - Okay.

Thank you. Goodbye.

All right, guys.

These two have something to tell you.

What are you waiting for?

I think I made mistakes to you during the preparation period.

I didn't know you guys were that sensitive. I'm sorry.

- Me too. - What are you sorry about?

Well, for criticizing you about your looks.

I can't hear you.

I'm sorry that I criticized you about your looks...

and forced only the female students to wait tables.

What about making them wear those uniforms?

I'm sorry.

I'm really sorry too.

We'll never do that again. We're sorry.

Stop being mad at us. I scolded these two harshly.

We have to see each other around. Will you keep being this awkward?

They can sound mean and rude,

but you know that they're not bad guys. Aren't I right?

- Yes. - Yes.

Since you're saying sorry, we will accept your apology.

But how you behave from now on matters more.

Thanks, Yoon Byul.

Then let's raise our glasses, everyone.

Good work with the festival.

And we're sorry again.

My, what a beautiful sight!

- Cheers, everyone. - Cheers!

Good work, everyone.

Have the two of you been hanging out often lately?

Seeing the two of you together is a bit weird.

What's weird about it? We're close.

Aren't I right, Kyung Seok?

Yes.

- Does it mean we have a new couple? - Does it mean we have a new couple?

What did she eat?

She must've eaten spoiled food without knowing it's gone bad.

Thankfully, she's okay this time.

The doctor said she can be discharged tomorrow.

Has something like this happened before?

She has been in the ER after eating spoiled food.

Whatever she ate must've smelled very bad.

She probably hasn't told either of you,

but she can barely smell anything at the moment.

- Sorry? - Pardon?

She was in a big accident,

and her olfactory nerve was severely damaged.

My goodness.

That's why she ends up eating spoiled food at times.

Then Kelun... What about perfumes?

She's very impressive.

It's like a singer losing her voice...

and a painter losing her sight.

Excuse me for a moment.

Yes, sir.

Something urgent came up. Yes, I apologize.

I'll call you in a bit.

Okay.

You can go if you have to take care of something.

I'll stay here.

Would you really do that for me?

I can be back in 2 to 3 hours.

Yes, I'll stay right by her side.

You can get going too.

Gosh, how could I...

It's okay. You can go.

Then please look after her while I'm gone.

Oh, does Ms. Na have no family?

Didn't Professor Park tell you?

About what?

It was in the newspapers too.

She got divorced years ago. She lives alone now.

I see.

I actually wanted to get in touch with her son earlier,

but I didn't because she'd probably get mad at me if she found out.

He's in the chemistry department at Hankook University.

He's in our department? What's his name?

His name is Do Kyung Seok.

Please pretend you know nothing.

Ms. Na hasn't seen him in years.

Oh, okay.

This has to stay between us. You know that, right?

Yes.

<font color="#fcc89b">[VIU Ver] jTBC E07 My ID is Gangnam Beauty</font> <font color="#8080ff">"A Guy Friend"</font> <font color="#ff5fa2">-♥ Ruo Xi ♥-</font>

- So... You see, - Yes.

I just wanted to help you.

- I know. - I wanted our bar to be a hit.

I heard you, so stop drinking already.

You should have it.

No, you should eat the drumstick.

By the way, why isn't Woo Young joining us today?

I'm not sure. Why do you ask?

What is it? Why do you want to know that?

What's going on? Are you interested in him?

What are you talking about?

I was just wondering. Just have your drink.

Something's fishy.

Hey, what is that? That thing.

My gosh...

Hey, it's just a bean.

- It's not a bug? - No.

Your cold eyes are killing me

Ko Ye Na!

The fire in your heart was growing, why are there only ashes now?

- They say time heals everything - I'll help you.

But I'm getting weaker by the day

I'm even getting numb to the heartbreaking pain

Fine, I'm going to forget you now

I'm going to get myself back and live like a flower

Can't nobody stop me now, no, try me

Everyone wants my scent

Thanks.

I didn't want to tell anyone about it.

But I do feel much better now that I've told someone.

- Are you leaving me? - Are you leaving me?

- How could you leave me so easily? - How could you leave me so easily?

- You promised me - You promised me we'd go together

- But you're leaving me - Hey, just sing it alone.

No. Hey, come on.

Ye Na. Hey, what's wrong?

What was that?

Do Kyung Seok and Hyun Soo A.

They're both good-looking and from rich families.

Is it like the parallel lives theory?

Parallel lines never meet.

Look at you. You sound so confident.

Just go and grab the microphone.

The microphone?

(Kang Mi Rae)

Ladies and gentlemen.

Next up is the star of Hankook University.

The most beautiful angel,

Hyun Soo A, will sing for us!

Please give her a big hand!

- Hyun Soo A, Hyun Soo A! - Hyun Soo A, Hyun Soo A!

Where are you?

You're at a hospital?

Ms. Na is hospitalized...

because of food poisoning.

She ate food that had gone bad.

I heard she can't smell things anymore due to an accident.

Did you know about it?

I'm staying with her now because she has no one else.

Will you come?

No.

Well, there's something I have to tell you.

I actually saw her back in middle school.

I'm saying I saw your mom in our neighborhood.

She must've come to see you.

I have to go.

Room 1013 at Hankook University Hospital.

I'm sorry. I won't meddle in your business anymore.

- Are you okay, Ms. Na? - Are you okay, Hye Sung?

Yes. I'm so sorry that you had to stay here.

Soo Hyun, please drive Mi Rae home.

No, that's not necessary. I can take the bus home.

I'll call a cab for you.

Director Lee, I want you to go home as well.

I can't leave you alone.

Don't worry. I'm not a kid.

You're more stubborn than a kid.

I'll be off now.

- Bye. - Mi Rae.

Thank you.

No problem.

Goodbye. Take good care of yourself.

Hey, Woo Young.

Ms. Na woke up. Don't worry.

Bye.

- Woo Young came as well? - Yes.

What am I going to do?

I caused everyone so much trouble.

That's why you should hire an assistant.

What kind of a CEO doesn't have an assistant and drives herself?

I really hate it when someone keeps...

following me around.

Gosh, what if you get into an accident?

I never got into a car accident.

Then at least date someone.

Isn't it sad that I'm the only one who's here to take care of you?

You're not really caring for me right now.

Gosh, stop nagging and leave.

Are you going to miss your kids all your life...

and grow old all by yourself without dating anyone?

You're the one who should stop dating and start settling down.

If I meet a few more of your girlfriends, it'll add up to 100.

What are you talking about?

You should leave now.

I'll get discharged on my own, so you don't need to come.

Kyung Seok.

- Do Sang Won! - Do Sang Won!

- I'm a fan. - Do Sang Won!

- Have some. - Do Sang Won!

- Here. - Do Sang Won!

- Do Sang Won! - Do Sang Won!

Goodness, have a drink.

- You should take a drink. - Okay, thank you.

Drink up.

- Do Sang Won! - Do Sang Won!

Gosh, that's nice.

- Sir. - Yes?

Kyung Seok and your ex-wife are together right now.

- Do Sang Won! - Do Sang Won!

I'm sorry. I'll report to you later.

- Do Sang Won! - Do Sang Won!

Thank you.

I never even imagined that you might come.

I'm so grateful toward Mi Rae.

You too.

I missed you so much.

But now that you're here, I don't know what to say.

I can't even bring myself to apologize.

If you're sorry,

you should apologize.

What are you sorry about?

For leaving you and your sister.

I regretted it a lot.

I figured I should've tried to think things differently.

You should quit work. You don't need to earn money.

Money isn't the problem.

It's my life-long dream to become a perfumer.

I told you that I'm working overtime today.

Why do you always have trouble putting the kids to bed?

I looked after the kids every time you had a gathering...

or went to play golf during the weekdays.

But I still managed to become the youngest head researcher.

I can't quit now.

What are you trying to become by working so hard?

Everyone else dreams of becoming a stay-at-home mom.

You know the typical question that everyone asks actresses?

"What's more important? Your work or your family?"

I never thought there'd come a day when I had to answer that question.

Is that all?

I also went through a lot after I got into an accident...

and lost my ability to smell...

because I could no longer work as a perfumer.

(Dad)

Kyung Seok isn't picking up.

But is there a reason why Kyung Seok shouldn't meet his mom?

Is there something he shouldn't know about...

that might make him leave you and run off to live with his mother?

Never mind. I'm sorry.

Cut the nonsense, and just focus on giving me reports.

Yes, sir.

It's late. You should go home.

You should sleep.

I'll go a little later.

Stay healthy.

Kyung Seok.

Did you sleep outside?

Yes.

Kyung Seok, come inside.

Sit down.

Where were you?

I met Ms. Na.

Okay. I'm sure you missed her. I understand.

But it's hard to understand her.

She never reached out to you for 10 years,

and now she brazenly shows up.

She once came when I was in middle school.

But of course, I didn't get to meet her.

Did she tell you...

that I didn't let her meet you?

Okay, fine. I didn't let her meet you.

How dare she show up when she left after having an affair?

- That's not true. - What?

She didn't have an affair.

Why did you lie?

Why did you do that?

I can't believe she made up an excuse to meet you.

Did you even...

have me followed?

Or did you do that to her?

That wasn't an excuse.

You must know it was food poisoning...

and that she hurt her olfactory nerves due to an accident.

What?

That was a mistake.

Just once.

I hit her just one time by mistake.

Putting this matter aside,

it was natural for a woman to be responsible for her family.

What kind of man would like his wife to keep staying outside?

Every time, work came first before family for her.

I told you to stay home comfortably, so why wouldn't you listen?

What's comfortable for me?

I have no intention of living the way you want.

I'm doing my best here.

There you go talking back again...

to your husband. You think you're that great?

How pathetic.

What?

It's pathetic how you're trying to have control over me this way.

Did you really just say that?

Why you...

Hye Sung.

When I found out that her olfactory sense was paralyzed,

I begged as hard as I could.

I promised her thousands of times that I'd make her happy...

even after she resigned from being a perfumer.

But she cared only for her job.

That was why she went out of control like a crazy woman.

You ruined someone else's life,

and you said you'd make her happy?

What?

You even ruined our lives with your lies until now.

And you cared about your family?

Watch what you say.

I'm the one who raised you until now.

I wouldn't have let you raise me if I had known sooner.

Kyung Seok.

I would've chosen to grow up alone instead.

Then get out.

You must've kicked my mom out...

this way, right?

What?

Kyung Seok. Stop right there.

Does anyone not like pork?

I love it.

I can't eat it because there isn't any.

Is pork belly okay then?

Good.

Me too.

(Group chat room)

(Dad)

Hey, Dad.

I'm almost there. I'm getting off at the next stop.

Okay.

Wait. Dad.

You didn't have to come all the way here.

I could've walked there.

Get in.

It's amazing.

You're pretty...

however I take pictures of you.

Let her have her meal.

I know you're still awkward with her looks.

What do you mean?

You worried about her every day, but now, you can't even see her face.

What do you mean, I can't?

It's still awkward, isn't it?

No, no.

It's pretty and nice.

Are you not angry anymore?

He blew off his anger a long time ago. He's just awkward.

Stop it already. I'm not awkward.

How about we go to a karaoke then?

- Karaoke? - Yes.

How about we go for a round?

That sounds great.

- Hurry and eat up. - Okay.

Mom, you should hurry up too.

Okay.

Dad.

I think Kyung Seok ran away from home.

I'll call you. Take care.

Who are you?

Is Ms. Seo Yoo Jin there?

Mom.

Who is it?

Isn't it Seo Yoo Jin's house?

No, it's not. We just moved in here.

Why did you fight with your father?

You think it makes sense to bring a bed in this room?

But it costs money to throw it away.

And I can't sleep on the floor. My back will hurt otherwise.

You're just as pathetic.

How could you move out of the house without any plans?

Do you have money?

Gosh, the summer season is coming up soon.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to turn on the air conditioner.

I'm not that sensitive to heat.

Don't act up and move back in.

Living alone isn't easy.

You'll be just like me if you miss the timing.

No, I won't.

Soo A.

Hey, Yoo Eun.

What brings you here?

Do you live in this neighborhood?

Yes.

Didn't you say you live in Dogok-dong?

I moved out recently.

Oh, really?

It hasn't been a few days.

I'll leave you then. See you at school.

Okay, bye.

Yes!

Yes!

Even though

You look uncertain

My love will

- Bring you back to me - You're so cool.

I know

You ended up dumping me

Don't call me a determined woman

She makes me ill, and I like her so much

I like the girl who always sits on the same spot

- It's too ideal - It's too ideal

I know you'll like me more

I'll act indifferent

I'm the best tonight

I waited only for you

Yes!

Goodness, I'm tired.

Mi Rae.

Let's...

add some more time now.

Give us...

- 1 more hour! - 1 more hour.

Let's go!

Mom, wait up.

I need to go home and lie down.

Gosh, I'm exhausted.

We did all the singing. Why is she exhausted?

Dad, you sang twice more than I did.

I hadn't been to a karaoke lounge in so long. There were many new songs.

Dad, you still got it.

I'm sorry about everything.

No, don't be.

Just because I adore you,

it doesn't mean you can be happy.

I was too self-centered.

You're still pretty,

my dear daughter.

It must've been very hard for you, Dad.

I'm sorry.

It's okay.

You'll look ugly if you cry.

Let's go.

Oh, right. I forgot about BTS.

What? BTS?

Our encounter is

Like a mathematic formula

Like religious commandments

The universe...

I forgot the lyrics.

Where did he go?

Honey.

Where on earth did he go?

Where is he?

What are you doing out here so late?

I wish I had a chance to say goodbye...

to Mi Rae's old face.

I'm sorry.

Let's go back inside.

I'm really sorry.

Let's go back in.

- Hello. - Oh, my.

Your place is so nice.

It looks really nice.

My gosh, you have such a nice place.

Woo Young, take this. It's my housewarming gift for you.

Mi Rae made it.

Oh, it's a Chypre cologne.

Thanks, I'll use it often.

I thought the scent would suit you. That's why I chose it.

Ms. Na was right. You really have the talent.

The view from here is incredible.

What do you think? Isn't it pretty good for the rent I'm paying?

Your place is amazing.

It's like a penthouse.

Woo Young, can we come over often?

Yes, of course.

This is the first time I'm having girls over.

- Seriously? - Yes.

Are you quite conservative?

No, not really.

There were times that I couldn't because I was living in a dorm.

When I had a basement apartment, I thought they'd be uncomfortable.

You're very honest.

By the way, isn't Kyung Seok coming?

I'm not sure. I haven't heard from him.

(Group Chat)

(Then is everyone okay with pork belly?)

It's not brand new,

but I bought it very recently.

(My ID is Gangnam Beauty)

Could Do Kyung Seok have a crush on you?

Mi Rae, we should watch a movie too.

She'll watch a movie with a guy for the first time in her life.

With a super handsome guy.

No, it's just an assignment.

Why do I miss him?

Do you want to go to the movies with me?

I'm going with someone else.

You want to be...

- my roommate? - Yes.

What on earth is this about?

Are you trying to get back at me or what?

Is it possible?

To just think of a guy like that as a friend.

3.600€ WASTED ON GRAVEL [English Subtitles] - Duration: 13:41.

Hi everyone!

As you have seen from the previous video

I crashed, big time

because falling down at 150km/hr

and starting to roll on the gravel

is a mystic experience

which I'll describe in this video

to let you understand what it feels like

moreover, in today's video, we'll analyse the three falls of the last race

to understand why I fell

Before starting the video I want to thank all of you who follow me

you are now 204.000 and I want to thank you all for the enormous support you've shown me

and that you gave me on that last video

and I want to thank not just my Italian fans

but also the foreign ones who follow me

because since I've put the English subtitles on this channel

my videos are watched worldwide

over 30.000 people follow me from abroad

Back to speaking in Italian,

it's been a very hard weekend

as you can imagine, I went back home feeling pretty down

I didn't just leave the bike, the suit and the helmet on that gravel

but also the championship

In Franciacorta unfortunately I did serious damages

considering my financial resources

just in terms of spare parts I did €2900 of damages, in the three falls in total

plus

€750 of action camera

considering that the fusion completely exploded

It works but the lens is gone

so I can throw it in the trash

and once again I can confirm that this camera is terrible

because you can't sell a product at €750 that doesn't have an interchangeable lens

Anyways, I was lucky

and I was even more lucky because it was a miracle that the bike bounced on the

gravel and it didn't start to roll

because otherwise I could have easily thrown away a €30.000 bike

unfortunately I don't have sponsors that can cover these kinds of costs

so "I'LL PAY"

Yes because don't forget that I pay the damages I make

Anyway, Racing is Life turned out to be something even bigger than I could have ever imagined

It wasn't just a dream that came true

but something even bigger

the videos have been viewed millions of times

there have been hundreds of thousands of comments and likes

and these are numbers that make me really happy of this format

which is not over yet

there's still the race on September 9th

and

something else I still haven't told you about

that is: the challenge with Luca Salvadori

on November 4th

In fact we'll do the race of the Formula Predators together

one against each other

with two cars

and

we'll give you more information in the next fee weeks

anyhow, I'm still working on Season 2 of Racing is Life

and for 2019

I'd like to do something more

and make this series even bigger

more episodes,

more insights,

more special videos

more technical videos

but I don't want to make just this series bigger, but the whole channel

my dream is that of publishing one video a day

with lots of special videos

dedicated to cars, bikes

special, live, interviews

but not only

I also wanna do extra field videos

like challenges, gaming videos

training, fitness, communication, computer technology, photography,

I mean, I have so much stuff running through my head

but I only have two hands

and 24hrs a day available

these are my limits

many have asked me if it's possibile to make a donation for this channel

So I've decided, around October/November, to start a crowdfunding campaign on platforms like Patreon

or similar, where whoever feels like it

can contribute to the growth of this channel to allow me to make more videos,

more contents,

and repeat Racing is Life also in 2019

you'll be able to donate whatever you wish

and the funds will be invested the channel's growth

and bring you new contents

because with your support this channel can become even bigger

and I'll give you all the necessary information

in the next few weeks

Great, now that this intro is over,

Let's analyse the falls

Ok let's start with the first fall.

this one:

This one happened during the warm up lap

long story short: it started raining, I kept going,

I didn't leave the track,

and I fell down

Of course, I fell because I slipped on the water

but I want to make a very important technical note

When the bikes or the cars run on the track

every time it passes a curve, it leaves a small tire layer on the asphalt

the so-called "tyring" of the track

When you pass on a part of the track that has the tire mark,

the bike holds better, but what happens when it rains?

When it rains, the rain that falls on the asphalt is drained

while the rain that falls on the part of the track that's "tyring"

is less drained, so when you pass on it with the wheels,

it's not the tire going on the tire anymore,

but instead the tire going on a layer of water on the tire

so it's much more slippery compared to the normal asphalt

so while on the dry it's better to pass on the "tyring" trajectory

because it has better grip, if it's wet it's the contrary

you need to pass on the not "tyring" part, to have more grip.

In fact if you see the pole position Luis Hamilton did

last weekend

if you watched the lap, which I've linked below and I can't show you otherwise they'll take the video down,

he makes really strange lines, he stops in the middle of the track instead of at the edge,

he does the curves going completely off the trajectory,

but why? because it had just started raining and he's an expert driver and he drove on the not "tyring" part

in my case it had just started to rain, I am not an expert rider so I drove on the "tyring" part

so there was less grip, and I fell down

So my mistakes were 2:

the first one was that I kept pushing

and the second one was that I passed on the "tyring" part

which has become slippery

as you know my Dainese suit has airbags

and many asked me why they didn't explode

in the first fall, or the one in Varano

the reason is that these airbags

are studied to explode only when necessary

when you make a soft fall

where you're already basically on the ground

and you just lay down

if the airbag were to explode

it'd be pointless

so it's made to explode during violent impacts

like a highside, a crash with another bike,

like you'll see instead in the second fall

and the reason for this fall is this:

I reached the last curve

hitting the brakes at the limit,

the problem is that I realised that the initial phase

of the braking was done too slow

so I didn't brake enough

so when I started to let the brakes go, I realised I was going too fast into the curve

so in that phase

where the bike was already a bit leaning

and the brakes at 30%

I make a mistake, I pressed the brakes again a little

so what happened? I lightened the front

and then I load it again

in that moment

the bike passed on the change of asphalt

because there's a new asphalt, so there's a spot where it changes

so I found myself

with the bike already leaning, with the brake pulled,

and with the front solicited by the asphalt change

so in that spot the front lost adherence, then it got adherence again, and once it lost it again

it closed, I fell down

In this fall, as you can see, the airbags exploded

because the front closed violently while I was standing

so I fell down pretty hard

these are the kind of falls where it's common to brake the clavicle

so as soon as the sensors inside the suit have detected a hard fall

the airbags exploded and they absorbed the fall to the ground

and this allowed me to get back up with just a few bruises

and without any serious damages

so I'd like tho thank the airbags by Dainese

because they really saved my bones in that fall

Now, 3rd and last fall:

which was the most... annoying

I fell on the part of the road that's new

so the new curve #5, which they did recently

a really fast curve, to be done at 150km/hr

with the limiter. Let's watch the first one:

as you can see I enter the curve, the bike jolts,

at some point the front closes and I fall down

But why did I fall? Now we'll compare my lap, when I fall, with Luca's on my bike

to understand the differences and see where the mistake lies

we're at the same spot

and look at the first big difference

Salvadori's bike is straight,

while my bike is already aiming at the curve,

But let's watch first how Salvadori faces this curve

Luca arrives

stays on the left, with the bike straight

brakes, he let's go of the brake

aims at the curve, delaying the entrance,

and before entering the curve, he gives gas

and you'll see why in a minute

Look at my line

as I was saying, I've been aiming at the curve for a few meters before him

so I brake a little later than him

but while I brake I'm already inserting the bike

so I anticipate the line

and by doing so I can't give gas before the curve

so I enter with the gas closed

these might seem like two differente interpretations,

and they could be, if it weren't for a small problem

the wholes

in that curve, unfortunately, there are 3 sinkings that make the bike jump when you cross

so when you cross them,

you must accelerate a bit

why? let's imagine that is the bike

if you go on it with the gas closed,

engine brake is slowing you down

so the bike is aiming forward

so if you go with the gas closed

the front is very loaded

so it's very solicited

while if you accelerate a bit

bike seats and you unload the front

so the wholes are absorbed a bit by the front and by the rear

basically, you jump on them with the bike even

so let's solve the mystery:

in race 2 like I said,

I started off like a fire, I was so enthusiastic

because I wanted to run away and win this race

the problem is that this enthusiasm along with the sun in my eyes

which made it difficult to see where the curve was

made me anticipate too much the entrance

and aside from anticipating the curve

I was also going about 4km/hr too fast

compared to the other times

so by anticipating the curve I had to

lean more to close the line

I had about over 4° according to the telemetry

of leaning

moreover, by anticipating the line

I could not give gas, to unload the front

and jump on the holes

otherwise I'd be too wide

so those 4km/hr more, along with the 4° of extra leaning,

plus the fact that I didn't give gas to unload the front,

made the front wheel too loaded

too solicited, and unfortunately it didn't bear the load

and I fell. In fact you see? Jump once,

jump twice,

and at the 3rd it closes and I fall

Unfortunately, it happens. With the bikes the smallest mistake when going at limit

can be fatal. You're on the ground

It's incredible because as you can see I almost fell standing up

I had 37° of leaning

that's not even leaning!

it's half a lean, but... when a series of sinkings

you have to do things perfectly

some even assumed that the tire was cold

I've read a few comments

It's something I've thought of as well, I went to talk to Dunlop

because I did 2 warm up laps and

instead of 1

Dunlop confirmed that the D212 GP Racer

the one we use

since it's a road tire too, it reaches the temperature soon

plus, the asphalt was 45°

so, the temperature of the tires did not influence the fall

also, as you can see from these images

I reached the gravel at high speed

that's a first for me

a weird experience because

it's sort of like when

at the beach you're doing watersports and you fall

you hit the water

hitting the gravel is like hitting a water wall

the difference is that

aside from that I also had a cloud of rocks hit me in the face

that the bike rose

and those are not really nice

I didn't have the airbags in this fall because they had exploded that same morning

and I didn't have time to set them up again

despite that I didn't get hurt

Great, that's all

thank you for watching this video

I hope you enjoyed it

I hope this analysis on these 3 falls was interesting
