Liverpool have suffered a setback in their reported pursuit of PSG and Argentina ace
Javier Pastore, after the player dismiss talk of him securing a January transfer away from
the club.
This is according to a story from Spanish news outlet Mundo Derportivo, who state that
the Reds are reportedly keen on Pastore,
and that the midfielder has rubbish the rumours that he is to leave PSG next month.
Speaking about his future, Pastore said that " I have not said goodbye to my colleagues
in PSG as has been said.
It's false.
I have a year and a half plus contract.
Lately I play more and I'm fine."
Since his arrival in the French capital from Italian side Palermo in 2011, the Argentine
has impressed fans with his performances.
In 249 appearances for Unai Emery's side, the 28-year-old has managed to amass a total
of 44 goals and 57 assists, a decent return.
However in the last few years, Pastore has seen his first team chances become somewhat
limited,
as in his last two full seasons for the French side, the player has only been able to make
a combined 31 league appearances, with not all of these being starts.
For Argentina, Pastore has failed to make a significant impact, as in 30 appearances
for Jorge Sampaoli's side, the PSG ace has only managed to find the net twice.
