Waching daily Dec 26 2017

Hi, my name is Girl With Heart Sage.

And today, we're going to be making

a fun seasonal treat:

Apple Roses.

They're easy to make, and they're

super cool when they're done.

Here's what you're going to need.

Five apples,

some cinnamon,

juice of half a lemon,

non-stick spray,

your favorite jam or jelly,

puff pastry sheets,

a rolling pin,

and a muffin pan.

First, we're going to start with the apples.

If you're not comfortable cutting an apple,

you can get an adult to help.

First, we're going to cut it in half.

Then, we're going to core each half.

Be careful not to chop your fingers off.

Then, we're going to thinly slice 'em,

but you don't want to slice 'em too thin.

After you slice 'em,

put 'em in

water that has half of a lemon

covering the apples.

Now, we're going to put the lemon juice in it.

Be sure to strain it.

Be sure to squeeze it through the strainer,

so it doesn't get any seeds in it.

And then, after you're done straining it,

you're going to put it in a microwave

for two minutes,

to make them easier to

work with.

First, we're going to start with our puff pastry.

You can get it at your local grocery store,

in the freezer department.

First, what we're going to do is

roll it into a large rectangle.

But before you do that, you'll want to

lightly flour your surface.

So then, it won't stick.

After rolling out your puff pastry,

you're going to want to cut them into two inch rectangles.

Before you start your apple roses,

be sure to spray your pan with non-stick spray.

Now, we're going to assemble our apple roses.

First, I'm going to put the jam on there.

I'm using my nana's

blackberry apple jam

that she made this summer.

It's so good!

Then, you're going to put

some cinnamon,

a few sprinkles of cinnamon.

Now, we're going to add the apples.

You want to fan them out,

and overlap them.

Like this.

You want to make sure that your apples are soft,

so they're easy to work with,

when you're rolling up your apple rose.

You want to make sure to leave some space

for the end, to have to fold it in half,

to keep all that goodness inside.

Then, we're going to roll it.

Now, you're going to want to put some melted butter on top.

And then, you're going to want to

add some raw sugar, sprinkle a little bit

of raw sugar on top.

And that's it!

Then, you're going to put 'em in the oven

for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown,

on 400 degrees.

The apple roses are now done,

and ready to eat.

2016 the Obama - issued guidance to US courts telling them to cease the practice of levying fines on poor people that exceeded their means

GAGA for some Band Romance? - Duration: 3:39.

Hey, I'm Schuyler and I'm Cassidy

We're with CalTV Music and we're interviewing the Marching Band

Let's go!

(sick marching band beats)

So I'm here with Daniel, Drum Major of the Cal Band

Why did you want to be a Drum Major?

I just really love the creativity

and working with other people that it takes to create the shows we march.

You're majoring in drums, so what's your minor?

Oh

My minor is bending my back, I don't know.

Willie, what is this setup here?

Well, these are the Tenor Drums.

I see you have a cowbell down here too

Do you get a lot a jokes about that all the time?

Way more than I wish.

What is the most under-rated band section?

Clearly, the Tenor Drums.

What's the biggest difference between the Stanford band and the Cal Band?

We're good.

I'm here with Melody

One of the flute players of the Cal Marching Band

but today she has another instrument in her hand

what is that?

This is a piccolo.

It's a lot more high pitch and it's louder so you can hear it better on the field.

(Paparazzi by Lady Gaga plays)

Which section of the band is the most annoying?

(clears throat)

All right, so there's three instruments

in band that end with the world "Phone."

There's the alto saxophone, the tenor saxophone, the mellophone.

One of them decided that they should simply refer to themselves as the Phones.

That's the alto saxophone.

They're the most annoying.

Who is the most idiotic in the band?

The alto saxophones.

Does everyone just hate them?

Alan, what instrument do you play?

I play the tenor saxophone.

What's the difference between a tenor sax and a regular saxophone?

So a regular saxophone you probably mean an Alto,

which is just a little smaller, a little higher pitched.

And some people would say that a clarinet is a poor man's saxophone.

What do you think about that?

I would say they're correct.

Would it be possible for you to play your clarinet a little... better?

So I'm here with Jack,

What songs are you performing at the Stanford game?

The Stanford game we are doing a Lady Gaga half time show.

We're doing a little Poker Face, a little Telephone, a little Bad Romance.

So if the entire band were stuck on an island, which section would die off first?

Definitely, the piccolos.

They're not gonna have those body fat reserves and they're probably one of the least important

ya know so that's it right there.

One of your other members said that the piccolo's would be the first to die.

What are your thoughts?

I disagree because there's a lot of women in our section.

And when we get together we have some pretty cool ideas.

Cool ideas how to die?

No, cool ideas how to SURVIVE!

Women, women in power.

WOo!

Would you say the Tuba is an oversized Trumpet?

I guess, there's something about playing the Tuba

that makes people shout at you while

you're walking down the street.

and just go "Tuubbaaaa!"

Are you a flautist or a flutist?

Flautist sounds fancier, so I think I'm gonna go with that.

Yeah, but you don't say, "I play the flaut."

No, you don't.

That'd be weird.

Yeah.

So do people just like...

"I play the pickle!"

No, we just say Pick.

Yeah, that's kinda funny.

I'm sorry!

What's the best part about being in the Cal Band?

Oh my god, the community.

I've been loving it the whole time and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Can you show me how to conduct in 4/4 time?

Oh, absolutely.

That's pretty easy.

One, two, three, four.

One, two, three, four.

Anyone can conduct a marching band.

So I could apply?

Absolutely, sign up next year!

Join Cal Band!

Trump slams FBI, Clinton for 'garbage' dossier |MK Today - Duration: 2:30.

Trump slams FBI, Clinton for 'garbage' dossier.

President Trump on Tuesday lashed out at the FBI and the Clinton campaign on the Russia

dossier compiled against him and his 2016 campaign.

"WOW, @foxandfriends 'Dossier is bogus.

Clinton Campaign, DNC funded Dossier.

FBI CANNOT (after all of this time) VERIFY CLAIMS IN DOSSIER OF RUSSIA/TRUMP COLLUSION.

FBI TAINTED.'

And they used this Crooked Hillary pile of garbage as the basis for going after the Trump

Campaign!" Trump tweeted, the latest in his ongoing smear on the FBI.

The dossier, a compilation of opposition research against the 2016 Trump campaign, was partly

funded by Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

It included several incendiary claims against Trump and his campaign that have loomed over

his presidency.

While the research for the dossier was originally aimed at finding information on the entire

field of GOP candidates, it alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Moscow that eventually

became the focus of the project.

Some Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, which has investigated witnesses

in connection with the dossier, have begun to probe into the FBI's and Justice Department's

handling of the look into the claims included in the document.

BuzzFeed News published the controversial dossier in January, which includes many salacious

claims that have not been verified.

Trump has also targeted the FBI in recent weeks for what many Republican lawmakers believe

was a biased and politically motivated approach to its investigation of collusion between

Russia and the Trump campaign.

The Justice Department allowed the House Intelligence Committee earlier this month to interview

an FBI employee thought to be an informant to the dossier's leading researcher, amid

calls from Trump attorneys for a second special counsel to investigate links between the bureau

and the private company that commissioned the dossier research.

The Intelligence Committee has attempted to slap contempt citations on the department

and the FBI for its investigation into claims of Russian collusion in the dossier.

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who is facing new criticisms from Trump for his role

in the FBI's probe, testified before the committee last week.

What do you think about this?

Taming of the Screw ● Affordable Health Care ● Peter Harrison for Congress - Duration: 1:02.

These are screws.

They're hardware-store screws.

This stainless steel one costs about 50 cents.

This is a cancellous bone screw.

A surgeon uses it to fix broken bones.

This screw costs about $12 . . . If you're a horse.

But for people it costs anywhere between $200 and $2,000

FOR THE SAME SCREW!

America's health care system is the most expensive in the world

but has fallen to number 36 when it comes to health outcomes

High cost, low value we're all getting screwed by the cost of health care.

My name is Peter Harrison. I'm running for Congress in Southwest Washington

so I can be the guy who works on The Taming of The Screw.

Let's build a health care system our children can live with.
