Waching daily May 9 2017

Often when confronted with the Apostles' claim that

Jesus rose from the dead, people ask if they made this

stuff up. And I don't fault them, because a man

rising from the dead is a pretty extraordinary claim.

A healthy skepticism is in order when it comes to such

things. So did they make it up? I don't think so,

and here are a few reasons why. First, the early

Christians had nothing to gain and everything to lose

in lying about Jesus' resurrection. As Paul argues in

1Corinthians 15, if they still believed in God, then they

would be bearing false witness, in which case they

would merit damnation. Not much to gain there.

Paul then considers what they might gain from the

lie if they were unbelievers, and didn't believe in God, or

the resurrection. His conclusion,

persecution and death. Having nothing to gain from

the lie makes the early Christian testimony very

credible. The second reason I don't think the early

Christians were making this stuff up is they include

women as the first witnesses. This detail wouldn't have

served the Apostles' story well, since according to first

century Jewish historian, Josephus, the testimony of

women in first century Judaism wasn't considered

reliable. If the Gospel writers were fabricating this story

you would think they would have chosen men

not women to be the first witnesses. So while it's natural

to have a healthy form of skepticism when faced with

the early Christian claims about Jesus'

resurrection, we can be sure they were sincere and

weren't making it up. If you want to learn more about this

What is your name? - Duration: 3:38.

Hi, my name is Adeline!

I discovered the reason why my parents named me Adeline

instead of B-deline or C-deline is because

they wanted me to be the first in everything

and to score A in everything

The true meaning of my name is 'nobility',

a woman with high-self esteem.

I'm thankful my parents named me Adeline

I scored a lot of As in life.

Thank you <3

Hi everyone <3 My name is Li See

The reason why my parents gave me this name is

is because it means 'beautiful and matured'.

So I don't be so "shallow" you know?

But one thing I hate about it is

my cousins used to make fun of my name.

Because in Cantonese

they called me 'Lai Si' (Lai Si = watery poop in Cantonese)

That's why it gave me insecurity about my name.

But over the years I realized "Well it doesn't matter!"

(Cantonese: I have hundreds of guys fancying me now)

So you know why they make fun of me now?

No big deal!

"Watery poop" then "watery poop" lah!

*THUMBS UP for fabulous exit*

*videographer squealing*

Hello! This is Azwan M. Ali!

There's a reason why my parents called me Azwan

It's because Azwan means 'ambitious'.

They want me to be someone who has vision in life.

A lot of people nowadays aren't too ambitious right.

They feel like they just wanna have a good (normal) life.

My parents want me to be ambitious because

they don't want me to be someone that's 'unremembered'.

I wanna make some impact to the world

I wanna make people happier with their lives

I'm also a physicist. So...I wanna be everything!

I wanna be a polymath (a person with wide-range of knowledge)

I wanna be like Leonardo Da Vinci. He's good in all fields.

I wanna be someone that's reliable. Someone people can rely on.

Currently working on that! I hope to get what I want in the future.

So I can actually inspire the uninspired!

Hi!

Oh, hey!

*chuckles*

My name is Mia!

My Chinese name is Hui Wen, Loh Hui Wen.

I think there's no meaning in my name (sad)

My parents just simply told me "There's a 'wen' (polite) in my name"

Maybe they just wanted me to be "shi wen" (girlish)

(Yeah, girlish lah)

And yeah. Like that loh.

(mum dad why you no give me a good name)

('Lai Si' is a good name. Why you no give me that)

(stay till the end of this video, we wanna hear from you!)

*epic entrance with epic music*

(THUMBS UP FOR EPIC ENTRANCE)

Hi, I'm Michelle! My parents call me 'Mei Ling'

Basically my name meant 'beautiful' and 'soul'.

'Mei Ling' is a very common name.

It's very special because

it's one of the top ranking for what Chinese would call their daughters.

So I do share this name with 27,000 women in the world...

*awkward*

...or more.

(WTF is that guy in white doing)

(WTF are those people in the background doing)

(hey sexy girl)

(humps)

(OH YEAH)

OHHHHH

YEAHHHH

(unbuckles belt)

*director disapproves*

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING! (OHHH YOU TOUCHED MY TRALALA)

(mmm my ding ding dong)

(techno music intensifies)

This is USANA | USANA Video - Duration: 14:17.

[exciting electronic music]

- I am a USANA associate.

- That means that I use the world's best

nutritional products.

- It also means that I'm an entrepreneur.

- For me, that means freedom.

I get to choose how I use my time.

- Being a part of USANA means I have products

I am confident in recommending to patients,

and a personalized solution to my own health.

[exciting electronic music]

- I had an opportunity to play football in the NFL.

It was a career I loved.

When I retired, though, I wanted another challenge.

I've always believed that if you want to earn more,

give more, and serve more,

you have to first become more.

- So, as an attorney, I had a very successful

legal practice with multiple offices.

I really enjoyed practicing law,

but I was working massive hours,

and it took a toll on my health.

- I actually really liked my corporate career,

but all I saw in my future were golden handcuffs,

working 50 or 60 hours a week for someone else.

- My husband had a great corporate job,

but it was our only income.

There's always uncertainty out there.

We knew we needed a plan B.

My kids were very little,

and I didn't want them in day care.

- If you feel trapped or frustrated

with either your health or your finances,

then this video is for you.

Pay attention. It might just change your life.

- So what is USANA?

- It's a debt-free, publicly traded company

with operations in 20 countries.

- USANA provides the products

and partners with us to help us build a business.

- It all started with Dr. Myron Wentz--

a world-renowned microbiologist and immunologist.

- He first rose to prominence in the 1970s,

developing viral test kits

to help doctors accurately diagnose diseases.

- So, when Dr. Wentz starting losing close family members

to degenerative diseases like heart disease,

he decided to shift his focus.

He wanted to use his expertise

to help people maintain their health.

- He knew nutrition was the answer.

Dr. Wentz used his mastery and expertise in cellular health

and founded USANA with the vision

of making the world's best supplements.

- Some of USANA's products are actually featured

in the "Physicians' Desk Reference."

In fact, I know many USANA associates

who are doctors and health professionals,

and they use the products in their practices.

- Everything about USANA-- from their products

to their business practices to how their treat

their employees and customers and associates,

it's certainly the best, but that's not all.

USANA is also unique because of how far they go

to push the envelope of excellence.

It's the innovation in the products.

It's innovation in delivering more personalized,

customized solutions.

- Since 1992, USANA has skyrocketed

into the global leader in cellular nutrition.

Its revenue is $1 billion annually.

The awards speak for themselves.

- USANA's labs and manufacturing facility

are state-of-the-art, FDA registered, and patterned

after pharmaceutical good manufacturing practices.

USANA controls and tests everything,

from the raw ingredients that come in the door

to the final product being sealed and safely packaged.

- You know there's something special about a company

when they're a trusted partner and sponsor of "The Dr. Oz Show"

and when the world's best athletes use their products.

- The company as a whole is impressive,

but the people are what really amaze me.

These are people who are out there

in different parts of the world making a difference.

The impact of USANA isn't just in their products.

They have major humanitarian projects all over the world.

These are people who obviously care.

- When Dr. Myron Wentz says he wants

the "USANA family to be the healthiest family on Earth,"

he means it.

- USANA doesn't just whip out a bunch of products

to fill a catalog.

As a physician, I know every single product

has amazing research behind it, utilizing the very best,

most advanced, most bio available ingredients.

That's what makes USANA so attractive to so many people,

whether they're customers who want great products

or entrepreneurs who want an industry-leading partner.

- There are over 400,000 USANA associates worldwide

and many more customers.

The company has paid out nearly $3 billion

back to associates who share the products.

- So why supplements?

- Today we're overfed but undernourished.

Did you get that?

We're overfed, but undernourished.

- But if we want our cells to thrive,

not just survive, we need to do better

and feed our cells with optimal levels of nutrients.

- We are bombarded by toxins every single day

from the environment, chemicals in our food,

and even free radicals that our bodies produce

in response to stress.

Little by little, that's affecting our health.

Most people just don't get enough

of the essential cellular nutrition they need.

The world's biggest health problems, at all ages,

are related to poor diets.

That's why USANA was founded.

- So we know we need to take supplements.

The question is, which ones?

There are a million nutritional products out there.

Well, USANA's are the best of the best.

- Seriously, they're the best, and it's not just us saying so.

In the "NutriSearch Comparative Guide,"

which compares the 1,600 top supplements

from around the world, USANA has the top rating.

- Need more proof? Let's talk athletes.

Their body is their business.

Literally some of world's best athletes

in dozens of different sports use USANA nutritionals.

Olympic gold medalists,

professional football and basketball players,

world champion boxers,

they trust USANA.

- USANA's core product is CellSentials.

It's the ultimate combination of essential vitamins,

minerals, and antioxidants.

- CellSentials is formulated with USANA's patent-pending

InCelligence Technology, something that

as a physician, I'm especially excited about.

InCelligence activates your body's natural ability

to protect and renew itself.

Think about this: your cells talk to each other

using bio-molecular signals

to activate important health processes.

Using special nutrient complexes,

USANA's InCelligence products basically tap into your body's

communication systems and talk to your cells.

This technology encourages the cells' own ability

to do super important things like renew the mitochondria,

which are the parts of the cell that make energy for you.

We can also stimulate the cell to make its own antioxidants--

which are way more powerful than the antioxidants

you get from your diet.

This is cutting-edge stuff.

It's the future of nutrition

and it's already here with InCelligence.

- As a parent, I want to know that

my kids are getting great nutrition.

It's super important to me that what I give them

is not only safe, but has the best ingredients

and the science behind the formulation.

- Look, you guys, every body is unique,

which means that everybody has unique needs.

That's why USANA also offers what we call the Optimizers.

These are complementary supplements

that meet individual needs.

- My own favorite product is MyHealthPak,

where instead of getting a bunch of bottles,

USANA makes a custom multivitamin

and mineral pack just for you.

- You need a customized plan that fits your needs.

You've heard of personal trainers?

We are personalized supplementation.

- USANA's food product sold me in the very first week.

They've seriously changed our lives.

The shakes were the first ones

that ever filled me up, produced results

and actually gave me real energy.

- The skin care line was actually what got me

interested in USANA.

A friend invited me to try it

and I saw the difference in my skin within hours.

As a health coach, I'm really particular

about what I put on my skin.

So, when I heard that their products were also

free of parabens and other chemical preservatives,

I was hooked. Your skin is your largest organ.

Pay extra close attention to what you put on it.

- I usually don't even have to bring up USANA in conversations.

People just see the difference and ask me what I'm doing.

- Whether it's InCelligence,

or the patented antioxidant extract Olivol,

or Hybrid technology that synergistically

combines nutrients, or fully customized

supplement packs, or the R&D or the quality,

you simply cannot get all that USANA has to offer

off the shelf in the store.

- Many of the people I introduce to USANA start out as customers,

and then they become associates.

They absolutely love the products.

And because USANA becomes such a big part

of supporting their physical health,

they want to partner with USANA for their financial health.

- When you find the perfect-fitting jeans,

watch a good movie, or discover a great new restaurant,

what do you do?

You talk about it.

- Naturally, I'm a huge "Star Wars" fan.

Some of my unenlightened friends and family are not.

So I got some of them to go see the new movie.

But Disney didn't pay me to share their product, right?

Well, USANA does.

- With USANA, I have a world-class partner

in building my business.

- I get the training I need,

a proven system to grow my business,

professional videos I can share, my own website,

an award-winning customer-service department.

- Amazing apps that help me manage my business,

fantastic events that really blow my mind.

I mean, what more could I ask for?

- And, of course, they handle all the inventory,

orders, shipping, everything like that.

This is a sweet business.

- At first, I was really hesitant

because I thought I would be on my own

making all this happen.

But I'm not on my own.

Number one, of course,

I've got an extraordinary partner, and it's USANA.

And to grow the business, I work with a team.

- The USANA business is all about the team.

We have teammates, and we have customers.

Customers get the products they love

delivered to their door every month.

Teammates are customers as well,

but they also get rewarded for sharing USANA with others.

- There are so many benefits to a USANA business.

But one in particular that you can't have at a regular job

is leveraged income.

- Your income is leveraged

because you and your teammates

are sharing USANA with people.

Some people just use the products.

Other people use the products and share them with others.

And all that activity is part of your business.

- The leveraged income really comes in

when people reorder the products.

When you or one of your teammates recommends a product

and a customer buys it, you earn a commission.

Even better--when your customer sees a difference

in their lives thanks to the products, they reorder,

and you earn a commission again,

but you didn't have to take the time to sell it to that customer

a second time or a third time or a 20th time.

That's leveraged income.

- It's so cool when it starts growing faster and faster,

because more and more people are getting involved,

and you hear more stories of people benefiting health-wise

and also financially.

- Remember, most people are already spending money

on nutritional products.

So it's essential to tell them about the best ones.

- There are hundreds of customers in my business

who are ordering products month after month,

year after year.

USANA handles the orders

and ships them right to their door.

They do it all.

- I now even have team members in Hong Kong,

But before I started my business,

I didn't even know anyone who lived there.

I actually have associates and customers in 13 countries now.

- Every week since I have been a USANA associate,

I have earned a commission check.

- People from all walks of life, from all over the world

are getting involved in USANA

to help them meet their financial goals.

Maybe they want to earn a little extra income

to pay some debt.

Maybe they always wanted their own business.

Or maybe they found their vehicle

to live an extraordinary life.

- I was sick of someone else telling me how much I was worth.

Those days are over.

- Don't get me wrong, this business takes effort.

It can be challenging at times, but I absolutely love it.

Here's the thing: everything good takes work.

But with time and effort, you can absolutely

use this business model to become financially free

and live life on your own terms.

I've done it and so have thousands of others.

- One of the most rewarding things

about being a USANA associate is that you're part of

the True Health Foundation.

The True Health Foundation sends aid all over the world.

Nutrition, education, disaster relief, you name it.

USANA covers 100% of the overhead for that foundation.

That means that every penny of every dollar donated

goes to helping someone in need, which is very rare.

- At USANA events-- which are amazing,

you're surrounded by people who care about your success.

You're appreciated. You're inspired.

It's positive energy.

- I'm married, and I have two young children.

I work from home and most days eat

all three meals with my family.

I'm present in their lives.

Time is our most precious asset.

USANA allows me to spend time with those I love most.

- So what about you?

What do you want?

More health? More time? More income?

- Most people never truly plan their future.

They spend more time planning a vacation

than they do their life. It's sad.

If you don't know where you're going,

then how do you know when you've arrived?

- How important is it to you to nourish your body with the best?

If time, money, and health were in abundance,

what would you be doing?

Who would you be spending time with?

What would you dedicate your life to?

- I don't know where you're at right now

or where you want to go,

but someone obviously cares about you

because they asked you to watch this video.

- I certainly had never considered it

as a business option.

But what I can say now is that joining this company

was the smartest financial decision I've ever made.

- This company embodies its tagline:

"Your health. Your life. Your way."

And you are what USANA is all about.

- It is USANA's mission to support my dreams.

That's why they're there.

And they have absolutely delivered.

- If anything you've heard or seen

in this video has piqued your interest,

then I strongly suggest that you connect

with the person who shared it with you.

Your decision to partner with USANA

might just change your life.

Hypocalcemia - causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, pathology - Duration: 11:56.

With hypocalcemia, -hypo means below, calc- refers to calcium, and -emia refers to the

blood, so hypocalcemia means lower than normal calcium levels in the blood, generally less

than < 8.5 mg/dL.

Calcium exists as an ion with a double positive charge - Ca2+ - and it's the most abundant

metal in the human body.

So I know what you're thinking - yes, we're part flesh - part metal, a bit like cybernetic

organisms - Cool, huh?

i about 99% of that calcium is in our bones in the form of calcium phosphate, also called

hydroxyapatite.

The remaining 1% is split so that the majority, about 0.99% is extracellular - in the blood

and in the interstitial space between cells, and 0.01% is intracellular.

High levels of intracellular calcium causes cells to die.

In fact, that's exactly what happens during apoptosis, also known as programmed cell death.

For that reason, cells end up using a lot of energy just keeping their intracellular

calcium levels low.

Now, calcium gets into the cell through two types of channels, or cell doors, within the

cell membrane.

The first type are ligand-gated channels, which are what most cells use to let calcium

in, and are primarily controlled by hormones or neurotransmitters.

The second type are voltage-gated channels, which are mostly found in muscle and neuron

cells and are primarily controlled by changes in the electrical membrane potential.

So calcium flows in through these channels, and to prevent calcium levels from rising

too high, cells kick excess calcium right back out with ATP-dependent calcium pumps

and Na+-Ca2+ exchangers.

In addition, most of the intracellular calcium is stored within organelles like the mitochondria

and smooth endoplasmic reticulum and is released selectively just when it's needed.

Now, the majority of the extracellular calcium, or calcium in the blood and interstitium,

is split almost equally between two groups - calcium that is diffusible and calcium that

is not diffusible.

Diffusible calcium is separated into two subcategories: free-ionized calcium, which is involved in

all sorts of cellular processes like neuronal action potentials, contraction of skeletal,

smooth, and cardiac muscle, hormone secretion, and blood coagulation, all of which are tightly

regulated by enzymes and hormones.

The other category is complexed calcium, which is where the positively charged calcium is

ionically linked to tiny negatively charged molecules like oxalate, small anions that

are normally found in our blood in small amounts.

The complexed calcium forms a molecule that's electrically neutral but unlike free-ionized

calcium is not useful for cellular processes.

Both of these are diffusible because they're small enough to diffuse across cell membranes.

Finally there's the non-diffusible calcium which is bound to negatively charged proteins

like albumin, and the resulting protein-calcium complex is too large and charged to cross

membranes, leaving this calcium also uninvolved in cellular processes.

When the body's levels of extracellular calcium change, it's detected by a surface

receptor in parathyroid cells called the calcium-sensing receptor.

This affects the amount of parathyroid hormone that gets released by the parathyroid gland.

The parathyroid hormone gets the bones to release calcium, and gets the kidneys to reabsorb

more calcium so it's not lost in the urine and synthesize calcitriol also known as 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol

or active vitamin D. Active vitamin D then goes on to cause the gastrointestinal tract

to increase calcium absorption.

All together, these effects help to keep the extracellular levels of calcium within a narrow

range, between 8.5 to 10 mg/dl.

Sometimes though, total calcium levels - both diffusible and non-diffusible - in blood can

vary a bit, depending on the blood's pH and protein levels.

This happens because albumin has acidic amino acids, like glutamate and aspartate, which

have some carboxyl groups that are in the form of COO- or COOH.

Overall the balance of COOH and COO- changes based on the pH of the blood.

When there's a high pH, or alkalosis, there are very few protons floating around, and

so those carboxyl groups tend to be in the COO- form.

More COO- groups make albumin negatively charged, and since calcium is positively charged, opposites

attract, and the negatively charged albumin latches onto calcium, which means there's

more bound calcium and less free-ionized calcium in the blood.

So as more free ionized calcium binds up albumin, there's less free ionized calcium and more

bound calcium, and so even though total levels of calcium are the same, there's less ionized

calcium, which is important for cellular processes and can lead to symptoms of hypocalcemia.

Also, any condition that results in hypoalbuminemia or low albumin levels, would lead to a loss

of bound calcium, while free ionized calcium concentrations stay essentially the same due

to hormonal regulation.

This is therefore called false hypocalcemia or pseudohypocalcemia, since there's less

overall calcium due to less bound calcium, but the free ionized calcium levels are the

same.

In order for there to be too little calcium in the blood, or true hypocalcemia, there

are two possibilities, less calcium entering the blood, or too much calcium leaving the

blood.

The first cause, and also the most common cause - less calcium entering the blood - can

be due to hypoparathyroidism, or lower levels or lower activity of parathyroid hormone.

This can be caused surgical removal or autoimmune destruction of the parathyroid gland, congenital

problems involving the parathyroid gland like DiGeorge syndrome, or deficiency in magnesium

which is needed for parathyroid hormone production.

Also, low levels of vitamin D can also lead to hypocalcemia, and can be caused by a deficient

diet, malabsorption, cirrhosis, a lack of sunlight, and chronic renal failure, to name

just a few.

The second cause - too much calcium leaving the blood.

This might happen when too much ionized calcium is excreted.

Normally, calcium filters into the glomerulus of the kidney but is then reabsorbed by the

nephron so that it isn't lost.

In kidney failure, the nephron doesn't effectively reabsorb calcium, allowing it to get excreted

into the urine.

A different example would be tissue injury, like burns, rhabdomyolysis, and tumor lysis

syndrome where large numbers of cells die releasing intracellular phosphate into the

blood.

The phosphate binds to the ionized calcium and forms calcium phosphate, making it insoluble

and effectively decreasing the total amount in blood.

Other inflammatory processes, like acute pancreatitis because free fatty acids end up binding to

ionized calcium, which is also insoluble and precipitates out as a soap-like s

Finally, ionized calcium levels can fall as a result of having too many blood transfusions,

because additives in the blood - citrate and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or EDTA - can

chelate or bind to calcium, forming complexed calcium, an inactive molecule.

Low levels of ionized calcium affect a variety of cellular processes, in particular, electrically

active neurons.

Normally, the resting state of sodium channels is stabilized by calcium ions, preventing

them from spontaneously opening and potentially causing depolarization.

With low levels of extracellular calcium, voltage-gated sodium channels are less stable

and more likely to open up, allowing the cell to depolarize more easily, making the neuron

more excitable.

This triggers tetany or the involuntary contraction of muscles, a classic symptom of hypocalcemia.

The spontaneous firing of neurons also leads Chvostek's sign, which is when facial muscles

twitch after the facial nerve is lightly finger tapped 1 cm below the zygomatic process.

It also can cause Trousseau's sign, which is where a blood pressure cuff occludes the

brachial artery, and that pressure on the nerve is enough to make it fire, resulting

in a muscle spasm that makes the wrist and metacarpophalangeal joints flex.

Other symptoms include muscle cramps, abdominal pain, perioral tingling which is tingling

around the mouth, and in extreme cases - seizures.

Hypocalcemia is diagnosed based on a low level of calcium in the blood, generally below < 8.5

mg/dL.

Generally an electrocardiogram might have changes such as a prolonged QT, prolonged

ST segment, and arrhythmias, like torsade de pointes and atrial fibrillation.

To identify the cause, lab tests are typically done, including a parathyroid hormone, vitamin

D, albumin, phosphorus, and magnesium level.

In hypocalcemia, the main goal is to normalize calcium levels using formulation like calcium

gluconate, and if appropriate, vitamin D supplementation.

Alright, as a quick recap, hypocalcemia describes a low concentration of free ionized calcium

in the blood, which most commonly results from defective production of calcium controlling

hormones— PTH and active vitamin D—.

Low calcium levels, which can cause certain excitable cells to be...more excitable , which

result in tetany, muscle spasms, and cardiac dysfunction.

Mel Ronbbins: How To Become The Person You Want To Be - Duration: 14:18.

questions that I have for you today Mel

is now what do you think women should

stop doing immediately at work if there

was one thing that a woman should do

differently at work or stop doing what

would that be well a lot of people are

going to hate to hear this but one thing

that women must stop doing at work is

when you're sitting in a meeting

do not take notes and there's a number

of reasons why first of all when you're

in meetings with your colleagues men

with you know your bosses that's a very

visual place to be and if you're the one

person sitting there scribing down

everything and transcribing the meeting

visually you look like you're the

secretary and so it's a I know that's

not what you're doing I know most women

are taking notes because they're very

conscientious and they want to go back

and look at their notes again when they

get back to their desk and make sure

that they've got everything from the

meeting and they know what to do in

terms of follow-up and what they've

actually promised that they're going to

do but in a visual setting like that if

you're the one taking notes that is not

a powerful visual example to give

secondly if you're busy taking notes

you're not paying attention to the

meeting you're paying attention to

getting every single word and you know

what that means if you're busy taking

notes you're actually not listening and

you're not listening for a chance to

contribute one of the reasons why women

don't speak up in meetings one of the

many is because they're busy focused on

taking down what's being said instead of

sitting in the meeting and listening and

being ready to contribute so if there's

one thing that you could do today

immediately is stop taking notes and

meanings what do you think that the

impression would be of women in the

workforce women in a meeting if they did

that one single thing well you know it's

all the small stuff that adds up over

time and what you want to what you want

to ask yourself is are you somebody at

work that's a contender are you there to

compete are you somebody that has a

reputation that is an expert in your

subject matter that's known for getting

things done that when you walk into the

room they're like oh here comes Jamie

she's going to have something to say or

you help her mmm-hmm are you somebody

that's there at the off

is to help out now helping is not bad

but the problem for a lot of you know we

women right is that we tend to do a lot

of work that's invisible behind the

scenes whether it's taking the notes or

whether it's organizing various

functions that work working on projects

that have to do with culture and

mentoring people behind the scenes those

are all very important however they

don't impact the bottom line and they're

also not things that you're being

visually recognized for nobody seeing

you staying late mentoring somebody so

you're not getting credit for it so what

you need to start thinking about is what

is the work that you're focused on and

is the work that you're focused on work

that a helper does or work that a

contender would do that's incredibly

helpful what else do you think that

women should be doing to further enhance

their visibility in the workplace well

one of the things that's very important

there's actually two the first thing

that you can do is you can be asking for

assignments that are above your level so

there's work that you do at your level

and then there's work that you do above

your level and the only way that you're

going to be promoted to do work above

your level is a if you can demonstrate

that you're capable of doing the work at

your level and B if you are proactive in

seeking out opportunities that expand

your capability and give you a give you

a chance to work above the level that

you're at the second thing that you need

to do and this may sound a little weird

is you need a male sponsor and one of

the reasons why this is so important is

because the fact is that the majority of

senior level meetings are dominated by

the male leadership right that's not

necessarily a bad thing it just is what

it is and so what you need to do is

forge relationships with just one all

you need is one you know you don't need

ten people to be your advocate you just

need one person that knows you that

knows your goals they're not mentoring

you that's different they're not giving

you advice this is somebody that knows

you and is advocating for you thinking

about you and sponsoring you for

opportunities in those meetings and the

way that you get somebody to do that is

you constantly deliver your

subject matter expert and you seek out

assignments that are above your level so

when you're seeking assignments that are

above your level you're actually being a

risk taker yes yeah you know there's an

interesting set of research sheryl

sandberg the you know of face book and

actually adam grant who is one of the

most renowned professors at wharton

really young guy highest rated they've

been writing this big series in the new

york times about women and work and some

of the studies that they've they've been

fighting are fascinating and one of them

that i found particularly interesting is

the fact that men will apply for a job

when they feel that they are 60%

qualified not the risk right because

there's a gap there and anytime you want

to get a new assignment or you want to

kind of expand what you're doing there

will be a gap women consistently wait to

either volunteer for assignments or

apply for more senior jobs until they

personally feel that they are 100% ready

and so it's really important even though

you're not going to feel comfortable

pushing yourself to take a risk because

if you apply and you don't get it guess

what you can go to the the sponsoring

partner that was hiring for that and say

what's the gap right and then you're

going to be told exactly what are those

things that you need to be doing between

now and the next time that you apply

that fills that gap right that was there

to begin with but without taking those

risks you have no idea what the gaps are

and you have no idea what you need to go

to work on there has been some studies

about what it takes to get ahead and

some say it's resilience

some say it's grit some say it's

confidence that maybe all three if you

think about resilience grit or

confidence

what is the one of what one of those

three really stands out to you in terms

of what a woman needs to get ahead it's

a great question

and i'm struggling between resilience

and grit yes because grit is what it

takes right just grit your teeth and

push yourself even though you're scared

to death or you're worried about what

it's going to mean

right and resilience is what happens

when you survive it or come back down

yes and get knocked down and get back up

and confidence is what develops over

time right so I would have to say it's

grit and the reason why is because

nothing's going to happen unless you

take that initial atom nothing's going

to happen nothing's going to change

unless you put down that pen in the

meeting and you sit up and you pay

attention and you listen for your

opportunity to speak nothing's going to

happen unless you push yourself to go in

and make the ask for that assignment

that scares you to death

and without that grit and without that

just it's not even fearlessness it's

just the impulse to act without doing

that

you got enough it's interesting you said

that because I've been thinking about

this for the last few days as we're

getting ready to go into a very large

Women's Conference and I thought

personally there were times when I

really had very little confidence but I

had that strength and inner grit to

proceed anyway because I had to or I

wanted to or I was ready to take that

risk and the confidence did build over

time but there were many times when the

only thing that got me through a

particular area or a particular job or

an assignment was that inner grit that

it really takes to get ahead Jamie I'm

so glad that you said that because one

of the things that I love about working

with women is we are natural problem

solver yeah either you give a woman a

problem she will go to hell and high

water to fix it right and the problem

with a lot of us in the workplace is we

play it so safe because we're afraid to

disappoint people were afraid to get in

trouble we're afraid to lose our jobs

and then that's going to impact the

family that we don't push ourselves

right and the truth is if you stick your

neck out if you summon up that grit and

you act even though it scares you to

death you've got a problem right and now

you're going to fix it that's right and

I've always liked it give me a barrier

yeah put up a barrier I am going to

climb over it I'm going to figure out

how to get around it or I'm going to

charge right through it and I think that

that's one of the qualities that women

bring to the workforce that is a little

bit different than their counterparts

for sure you know one other thing that I

think is really

this is something that I've personally

taken on in my work life because I do

two things I work in a corporate setting

which is CNN is an on-air commentator

and then I travel the world and do

motivational and leadership speaking and

what I've taken on at CNN is this

philosophy that there's room for

everybody to succeed and one of the

things that I do believe is very

important for women to just internalize

is that there's no need to feel like you

are in competition with other people

particularly other women particularly

other women right and the truth is there

especially in a company as large as

Lincoln Financial but in any company

there is an avenue for everybody to be

successful the world is a very big place

and when you approach your work without

that intensity that comes from

competition and immaturity like I'm

going to beat out you versus I'm just

going to focus on me I'm going to do the

best job I possibly can I'm going to

show up I'm going to do the work I'm

going to be an expert I'm going to work

above my level I'm going to empower my

team and that's what I'm focused on you

will be shocked at how it transforms

your working relationships and how it

also builds your own confidence to be

focused on yourself while cheering on

your colleagues and also helping other

women I think in the workplace mm-hmm

and I think that we are in a unique

position to do that while we do need a

male sponsors I completely agree with

that I do think that women are in a

unique position to help other women

figure it out particularly younger women

coming into the workforce well one thing

that you can do for younger women is

when you're introducing colleagues to

one another when you introduce somebody

include one of their accomplishments

so as you're you know this is Jamie and

you know she headed up the blah blah

blah project which was a really big deal

that thought the does so I'm actually

building you up in front of other people

what a great suggestion yes rather than

just oh this is Jamie yeah she's you

know the senior vice president no you

know what this is something she has done

that that really commands

spec and by doing that I've just built

you up and I've created a way in which

this other person is going to listen to

you right rightly right that that's a

tremendous point and I think that I'm

going to incorporate it immediately do

you have any other advice for women to

take charge of their futures plan it

sounds so stupid

I mean sometimes giving advice is

embarrassing because it's so obvious but

I could sit here and literally give you

the details of eleven different famous

studies that talk all about the fact

that people that take the time to write

out a plan and write down two or three

things that they're going to focus on

that they actually have between 30 and

depending upon the study sixty percent

they're more effective at getting it

done right and one of the reasons why

this is more important than ever is

because you work in such a distracted

work environment right so if you're

going to do something so let's just

let's just give everybody an assignment

what are two things that you're going to

do this year to raise your leadership

game what are you going to do to be a

contender and it could be that you're

going to adopt a certain kind of mindset

it could be that they're going to stop

taking notes and meetings it could be

that you're going to volunteer for

certain assignments it could be that

you're going to take a course that ramps

up certain skills that you know are a

deficiency you need to post that

somewhere in your work environment so

that visually you are reminded because

you'll forget and if you were to do just

that pick two things that are going to

amp up your leadership game and post

some sort of visual cue you will be more

likely to change and you'll be more

likely to be more effective what's so

interesting about that it is simple but

we would never work without a business

plan never we would never embark on any

projects without a project plan and yet

we embark on our careers without that

kind of plan employment you know the

other thing that I would I would I think

is very important for women to do and

executives everywhere to do is you need

to ask yourself is am i working on the

right stuff mm-hmm and by

stuff what is important to Lincoln

Financial and Lincoln financials bottom

line very different than what you might

be working on and there's no way that

you're going to get promoted and there's

no way that you're going to be tapped

for leadership roles unless part of what

you're focused on in your day to day

work is something that your company

truly cares about and if you're not

working on the stuff that your company

cares about in terms of their goals for

this year you need to figure out how to

diversify your workload so that you are

right right and stand up and be counted

yes so Mel thank you so much for the

opportunity that we've had to speak with

you today thank you for being here with

us and thank you for sharing your wisdom

awesome well thank you for having me

Julian Assange Just Destroyed the FBI, CIA & Fake News in an Epi - Duration: 7:38.

Julian Assange Just Destroyed the FBI, CIA & Fake News in an Epic Tweetstorm

However, if you ask him, hell tell you hes a journalist who believes governments

should be held accountable for their actions. And in his latest Twitter rant, youll see

why. He takes on his critics and those who want him dead, head on.

In his first tweet on Thursday, Assange addressed the latest accusation that hes a pedophile.

He linked a CNN video clip and tweeted, On CNN former CIA claims that I am a pedophile.

Quality work from the folks that gave us Iraq, Libya.. Thus implying the CIA is largely

responsible for the proxy wars taking place in the Middle East and Northern Africa.

The video segment showed Phil Mudd, a former CIA analyst, claiming Assange is a pedophile

whos holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy and said, hes not credible. Unfortunately

for Mudd, most Americans believe Assange is credible after publishing leaked documents

from several sources within the U.S. government who refused to go along with the governments

narratives. In fact, even the current sitting president claimed on the campaign last year

that he loves Wikileaks.

Exposing the mainstream medias bias toward him, Assange then tweeted, Sun newspaper

stated that I raped two men then apparently invented a fake journalist to put on the byline.

Indeed, the article does purport to show that a reporter by the name of Holly Christodoulou

published the article.

But when reporters confronted The Sun on the storys apparent inaccuracies, the newspaper

then changed the story as well as the authors name. Shortly after the correction was

published, the article was heavily revised and Christodoulous name replaced with the

name Eileen Weybridge, writes Shootthemessenger.

I love journalism. Its so accurate and professional. War, peace and the fate of millions

ride on it. Were all in such good hands. Wow! he tweeted implying its not journalists

who are starting wars, displacing millions, and leaving a trail of dead in their wake.

Its governments, powerful ones who are willing to go to war over lies about whos

gassing whom.

Wikileaks, not Assange, then retweeted a tweet which shows former president Barack H. Obama,

endorsing French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron. The tweet is probably meant to reflect

Obamas condemnation of the alleged Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential election

by showing the former president openly meddling in Frances election.

Obama intervenes in election to tell French to vote for Macron after previously ordering

CIA to steal parties plans, the tweet reads. Linked to the tweet was the following

story. In 2012, under the Obama administration, the CIA was ordered, according to Wikileaks

to use all of its available human and electronic assets to retrieve several political parties

plans for the election.

Wikileaks published the story taken from the leaked CIA Vault 7 documents. They wrote,

All major French political parties were targeted for infiltration by the CIAs human

(HUMINT) and electronic (SIGINT) spies in the seven months leading up to Frances

2012 presidential election. The revelations are contained within three CIA tasking orders

published today by WikiLeaks as context for its forth coming CIA Vault 7 series. Named

specifically as targets are the French Socialist Party (PS), the National Front (FN) and Union

for a Popular Movement (UMP) together with current President Francois Hollande, then

President Nicolas Sarkozy, current round one presidential front runner Marine Le Pen, and

former presidential candidates Martine Aubry and Dominique Strauss-Khan.

In his next tweet, he openly defied the mainstream medias narrative. He wrote, I havent

been charged, have already been cleared and the UN says I am right. Yes, CNN, I am dismissive.

Assange is right. He hasnt been charged with any crimes and he attached another subsequent

tweet with a statement from the UN panel exonerating him from all allegations and legal proceedings.

His followup tweet was an upload of a court document which asked for the Swedish Government

to drop his arrest warrant over the rape case SMS text messages now show was a set-up.

The Washington Times wrote that the court motion was a request for the Swedish government

to drop a long-standing arrest warrant against their client Wednesday so the WikiLeaks

publisher may once and for all take refuge in Ecuador in light of a looming U.S. indictment.

As long as theres an arrest warrant, Assange cannot seek permanent political asylum in

Ecuador.

Addressing his rape charges, Assange tweeted Thursday, The government of Sweden continues

to be in breach of the UNs findings in Assange v Sweden. He attached a video clip

of Christophe Peschoux, spokesperson for the UNs expert panel investigating Assange.

In it, Peschoux called for the UK and Sweden to restore to Assange his liberty and compensate

him for the unwarranted charges of rape against the worlds most famous journalist.

The witch-hunt continues against Assange. As long as hes alive and relaying to the

world how various intelligence agencies are spying on everyone using their own cell phones,

smart televisions, and computers, and as long as hes publishing internal documents from

political parties who actively subvert their own candidates, and as long as he publishes

military secrets the warmongers want to remain hidden, hell always be a marked man.

It doesnt matter if he gets the political refuge hes seeking; theyre out to

kill him, all for being a journalist.

What is the HearPeers Mentor Programme? - Duration: 2:54.

This is Robert. He is 62 and every

Tuesday he meets his friends at the same pub.

Recently, he struggles to understand

what they're saying.

Back home, he often complains about his

mumbling friends and thinks it's their fault.

But his wife Sarah figured out

that this might be due to his

age-related hearing loss.

This is Victoria, her husband Peter and

their daughter Elizabeth. Soon after

Elizabeth was born, their doctor told

them she had a hearing impairment.

An implant could help their daughter hear

but is surgery really the best solution

for their little girl?

Until recently, Barbara was a successful manager. But

after her first sudden attacks of

vertigo, dizziness and hearing loss

caused by Ménière's disease she feels

exhausted from lip-reading and

pretending to understand everything her

colleagues say.

She can't do her job anymore and needs to find a solution

Barbara, Robert, Victoria and Peter all

share the same feelings - deep uncertainty

about how to deal with their situations.

Is a hearing implant really their best

solution and what do all the terms mean?

It's a big and potentially life-changing

decision. So who can help each of them make it?

Clinics, doctors, audiologists

support groups and the NHS provide lots

of information but you can also visit

the HearPeers website and contact a

HearPeers mentor directly for a private conversation.

But what exactly is a HearPeers mentor?

A HearPeers mentor is

someone who has been in a similar

situation to Robert, Victoria and Peter and Barbara.

Every one of them knows what

it's like to have a hearing impairment.

So they can relate to all your concerns and fears,

provide support and guidance in every possible way,

and answer your questions about hearing implants, surgery and life with an implant.

Of course, they

will be absolutely discreet about the conversations they have - without fail.

And you get all this for free!

After visiting the HearPeers website,

Robert got in touch with a mentor who

also had age-related hearing loss.

From his mentor, Robert got open and honest

answers about his worries and fears concerning the future

and now knows what all the terms mean.

Like Robert - Barbara, Victoria and Peter also found their

matching mentors who helped them making

the right decision for their hearing.

If you're in a similar situation and also

want someone to talk to just go to

www.hearpeers.uk and find your own mentor of choice.

I just fought this channel that only in 2 months is going-One the rise-Twenty First Century Gent - Duration: 4:13.

okay guys I just bought this small

channel and I wanted to UM use this as a

driving tool arm for your small channel

that the skies are the limits and

anything is possible with little to no

effort arm as long as you set up your

channel correctly arm the content that

you are sharing with people is proper

you will give views to your video I

found this channel here it's 21st

century gent it has eight thousand three

hundred and eighty-nine subscribers so

this is definitely a small channel it

has 258 subscribers and the channel

started a month ago he started uploading

videos this is his very first video here

it's 21st century it's an intro video of

what kind of videos he is going to be

sharing on the channel which I think um

this is the gateway to getting views and

subscribers is an intro video something

that when someone enters your channel

they can go to this video and then they

can already decide if they want to

subscribe or look at your videos um and

as you see from his thumbnails it just

it's just um what he is explaining in

his intro arm you know by his thumbnails

and that his titles you have to be super

targeted so that you get that audience

for what you're trying to get the

message through to people um I'm going

to try to on a daily basis find small

channels and show you that within a

short amount of time if you execute how

you set up your channel and what kind of

videos arm you put on your channel you

will start getting subscribers and you

don't have to do that sub sub once

by these comment section or like in the

video just to get a sign-up fee no Sona

to subscribe to your channel it's very

little effort to get a subscriber if you

make content that's real um something

that's going to uh

draw the viewer to your channel you

don't have to go to somebody else's

channel and say to their subscribers

that are looking at videos and leave in

comments

can you subscribe to my channel never

come across as you're being desperate um

so again check this channel out maybe

you might want to subscribe to it and um

see his progress and um and get ideas

and tips like on his tags and maybe why

his channel in 30 days is at 8000 plus

views and why he has um over 258

subscribers in this last video he's

doing he's getting close to 8 views per

hour which this is just an estimate so I

can tell you right now he's probably

getting more than 8 views an hour and um

just look at how a schandle set up look

up what he puts in his description um

just get ideas from smaller channels

that are on the rise that haven't been

noticed even by YouTube yet that you see

that are growing because see a channel

like this overnight is going to grow and

if you sometime take some of the

principles that they use on their

channel and duplicate that then you can

start seeing results too so I don't want

to make this video too long please like

share and subscribe to this channel and

I'll see you in the next video

Is The Resurrection A Lie? - Duration: 2:23.

If you want to learn more about this

topic and others like it, be sure to visit our website at

TWICE's -7 reasons why Nayeon is the best friend you've always wanted - Duration: 3:41.

7 reasons why Nayeon is the best friend you've always wanted

In addition to being a talented vocalist and a unique visual, TWICE's Nayeon's charming personality makes her a perfect friend.

In addition to being a talented vocalist and a unique visual, TWICE's Nayeon's charming personality makes her a perfect friend.

And while there are many reasons why Nayeon would make an awesome best friend, here are just seven reasons why she exudes the qualities that important in a close friend.

She's not afraid to show skinship, not even in public Nayeon doesn't even hesitate to tightly hold onto Chaeyoung's arm while the two of them go grocery shopping with Mina.

She always makes sure to let you know when you're making her cringe. During a fansign, maknae Tzuyu does a short finger-heart dance on stage.

After cringing at Tzuyu's cheesy dance, however, Nayeon made a light jab at Tzuyu by showing her that the dance almost made her throw up, causing Tzuyu to elicit a giggle out of embarrassment. Sometimes she doesn't act her age.

While Nayeon is twenty-two years old, making her the oldest member in TWICE, she's known for acting like the youngest and has even earned the title of "fake maknae" for her youthful appearance and behavior. She's stern but fair with her juniors.

As the oldest member in TWICE, Nayeon also takes a lot of responsibility in taking care of the younger members and making sure they're reprimanded properly. She's the ultimate idol fangirl.

Although Nayeon definitely has her fair share of hardcore fans, she's been known to be quite a fangirl herself. She's even shown her love for fellow idol groups, such as Oh My Girl, Red Velvet, and BTS!. She never forgets a promise.

Back in June, Tzuyu received kisses from all her fellow members in celebration of her birthday, causing Nayeon to request a kiss from Tzuyu herself.

However, Tzuyu denied Nayeon her kiss and promised to give her one on Nayeon's birthday in September.

Three months later, Nayeon continued to pester Tzuyu to complete her promise, until it was finally granted during TWICE's comeback countdown video in October. What persistence!. She'll put up a fight for you.

During one of the group's recent fansign events, members Momo and Jeongyeon acted out a romantic scene for fans. After seeing the girls' lips get a little too close, Nayeon hilariously tried to pry the two apart.

BH4U | Simple Ways To Make Your Neck Look Younger - Duration: 3:22.

[music]

Simple Ways To Make Your Neck Look Younger

One of the first signs of aging is a sagging skin on the neck.

The thing is the neck muscles or platysma are not attached to any bones or ligaments

that would ensure their stability, so they start drooping over time.

That's how the skin on the neck loses elasticity and becomes wrinkled with age.

But while most focus is given on the face, the neck is usually ignored.

In fact, most women opt for expensive cosmetic treatments or products, which often fail to

give the desired results, although there are natural alternatives too to deal with this

common cosmetic issue.

Watch on and find out how you can get a flawless, younger-looking neck in a natural way.

1.

Increase Your Vitamin C Intake

Vitamin C is one of the best natural antioxidants.

You can either get it through food or by taking over-the-counter supplements.

Research also confirms that using an SPF moisturizer together with it can give even better results.

Beatriz Molina, a dermatologist, recommends a serum with L-ascorbic acid for quick absorption

into the skin.

2.

Avoid Sun Exposure

The harmful UV sun rays can damage the skin on your neck, just like the skin on any other

part of your body.

Using sunscreen of at least 30 SPF with zinc and titanium, both of which inhibit UVA and

UVB rays, on a regular basis is highly recommended.

3.

Regular Exercise

Regular workout is extremely beneficial for keeping your body supple.

The same goes for your neck.

Doing regular exercises that target your neck will give you a firm and younger-looking neck

in the long run.

A number of studies confirm that people who exercise at least twice a week have more elastic

skin.

Regular exercise also improves blood and oxygen supply to the muscles.

4.

Collagen Supplement

According to News-Medical, collagen is the part of the connective skin tissue that ensures

skin firmness, suppleness and constant renewal of skin cells.

Also, collagen is essential for skin elasticity.

Taking a high-quality genuine collage supplement is highly recommended.

Consume Fatty Acids Before Bedtime

Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are extremely beneficial for improving skin quality because

they stimulate collagen production and rebuild skin cells.

The best food sources of these fatty acids include salmon, sardines, avocado, spinach,

flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.

The best time to eat these foods is about four hours before bedtime.

What is entropy? - Jeff Phillips - Duration: 5:20.

There's a concept that's crucial to chemistry and physics.

It helps explain why physical processes go one way and not the other:

why ice melts,

why cream spreads in coffee,

why air leaks out of a punctured tire.

It's entropy, and it's notoriously difficult to wrap our heads around.

Entropy is often described as a measurement of disorder.

That's a convenient image, but it's unfortunately misleading.

For example, which is more disordered -

a cup of crushed ice or a glass of room temperature water?

Most people would say the ice,

but that actually has lower entropy.

So here's another way of thinking about it through probability.

This may be trickier to understand, but take the time to internalize it

and you'll have a much better understanding of entropy.

Consider two small solids

which are comprised of six atomic bonds each.

In this model, the energy in each solid is stored in the bonds.

Those can be thought of as simple containers,

which can hold indivisible units of energy known as quanta.

The more energy a solid has, the hotter it is.

It turns out that there are numerous ways that the energy can be distributed

in the two solids

and still have the same total energy in each.

Each of these options is called a microstate.

For six quanta of energy in Solid A and two in Solid B,

there are 9,702 microstates.

Of course, there are other ways our eight quanta of energy can be arranged.

For example, all of the energy could be in Solid A and none in B,

or half in A and half in B.

If we assume that each microstate is equally likely,

we can see that some of the energy configurations

have a higher probability of occurring than others.

That's due to their greater number of microstates.

Entropy is a direct measure of each energy configuration's probability.

What we see is that the energy configuration

in which the energy is most spread out between the solids

has the highest entropy.

So in a general sense,

entropy can be thought of as a measurement of this energy spread.

Low entropy means the energy is concentrated.

High entropy means it's spread out.

To see why entropy is useful for explaining spontaneous processes,

like hot objects cooling down,

we need to look at a dynamic system where the energy moves.

In reality, energy doesn't stay put.

It continuously moves between neighboring bonds.

As the energy moves,

the energy configuration can change.

Because of the distribution of microstates,

there's a 21% chance that the system will later be in the configuration

in which the energy is maximally spread out,

there's a 13% chance that it will return to its starting point,

and an 8% chance that A will actually gain energy.

Again, we see that because there are more ways to have dispersed energy

and high entropy than concentrated energy,

the energy tends to spread out.

That's why if you put a hot object next to a cold one,

the cold one will warm up and the hot one will cool down.

But even in that example,

there is an 8% chance that the hot object would get hotter.

Why doesn't this ever happen in real life?

It's all about the size of the system.

Our hypothetical solids only had six bonds each.

Let's scale the solids up to 6,000 bonds and 8,000 units of energy,

and again start the system with three-quarters of the energy in A

and one-quarter in B.

Now we find that chance of A spontaneously acquiring more energy

is this tiny number.

Familiar, everyday objects have many, many times more particles than this.

The chance of a hot object in the real world getting hotter

is so absurdly small,

it just never happens.

Ice melts,

cream mixes in,

and tires deflate

because these states have more dispersed energy than the originals.

There's no mysterious force nudging the system towards higher entropy.

It's just that higher entropy is always statistically more likely.

That's why entropy has been called time's arrow.

If energy has the opportunity to spread out, it will.

5 Signs You're In A Relationship With An Enlightened Individual - Duration: 4:35.

5 Signs Youre In A Relationship With An Enlightened Individual

By consciousreminder

Some might say that its difficult, or even rare, to find people who are enlightened in

the world today.

But, when you do find one, youll know it.

Enlightened individuals see the world differently.

Theyre confident, yet humble, and have an air about them that suggests theyve

got this life thing down.

Dating an enlightened individual is an experience everyone should have at some point in their

life.

Want to find out if your partner is enlightened?

Here are five signs:

1.

He or she is very attuned to their own being

Enlightened people know how important it is for them to spend time each day reconnecting

with themselves.

Whether its through meditation, yoga, or simply going for a long hike in the woods,

they love disconnecting from the fast-paced world of work and friends in order to tune

into the world that exists within their heart and soul.

2.

They dont let anyone elses opinions or criticisms keep them from succeeding

Enlightened folks, being highly aware of who they are, know exactly what they want out

of life, and they really dont care if anyone disagrees with their desires.

This is not to say that they will completely ignore a persons sound advice or ideas;

theyll listen respectfully, but at the end of the day, theyre going to continue

believing in themselves, regardless of what others have to say.

3.

They dont need to fit in, so they almost never become followers

Enlightened people recognize that their lifestyle may not be the most popular choice or something

that everyone else wants to do, but they prefer it that way.

They gain validation from within, rather than through what the masses are doing or saying

people should be doing.

If they can live a life that is true to them, thats all they concerned about.

4.

They give everyone respect and kindness

Even when enlightened people are interacting with a person theyre not particularly fond

of, they still choose to exhibit kindness and genuine respect.

This is because they understand that everyone on this planet is different.

Each one of us has been carving a path that is unique to us, so theres no sense in

judging others for the way they live their life.

5.

They do not fear the future, they welcome it

Most of the time, stepping out of ones comfort zone and confronting change is one

of the hardest things a person will ever have to do.

Enlightened folks see change as a good thing, because with change comes opportunity and

growth.

They also recognize that theres no sense in trying to predict where you will be in

the future, so you cant try to control it either.

Each obstacle we overcome or poor situation we find ourselves in comes with a lesson

to be learned.

Budget Overview #2: What is the tax cap? - Duration: 2:24.

Okay, so one of the things I wanted to touch on is the property tax cap.

So the property tax cap was initiated approximately six years ago and it placed a limit on the

increase, the annual increase, to the tax levy.

And its applicable both to school districts, towns, counties, etc.

Um, and the two percent limit is um actually not really two percent, or rarely,

I should say, two percent, because computing the limit involves an eight step formula.

And one of the steps in that formula involves either the Consumer Price Index, the increase

in inflation, or two percent - whichever is less.

So, that's the two percent in the two percent formula.

And as I said, when you go through that process, that eight step process, you rarely end up

with a two percent levy increase cap.

In fact, for the current year, the 16-17 year, based on the low inflationary environment,

our levy limit was actually about one percent, a little over one percent, 1.1 percent.

For the upcoming 17-18 school year, the district is very fortunate because

our levy limit is higher, a little higher than usual.

It's 3.85 percent.

So, we will be under that limit, which would require only a simple majority to pass the budget.

But the reason we're a little higher than usual this year has to do with one of the

steps in the formula and one of the factors - the tax base growth factor.

So that is a factor that is part of the formula to capture increases in the tax roll based

on development within the school district and the community.

So, we're very fortunate because we've had a lot of development locally, much of it associated

with the Woodbury Commons, and that has pushed our levy limit a little higher than it was

in prior years and we really needed that, and we're going to be levying below the limit,

but we needed that based on some of the increases for next year's budget, particularly the increase

to health insurance premiums.

That is one of the principal drivers in next year's budget and it's been very difficult

for us to contend with that.

And we're fortunate that we did have the higher than usual maximum allowable levy limit.
