When Prince George was born to Great Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton two years
ago, William's father Prince Charles described becoming a grandfather as "a unique moment
in anyone's life."
But now it seems that the Prince of Wales feels he has had far too few moments to spend
time with his grandson.
The Daily Mail reported this week that Charles has become upset at the small role he occupies
in Prince George's life, especially when compared to how influential Kate's parents have apparently
become in Prince George's life.
According to the Daily Mail, some in the Royal Family have even started referring to the
"Middletonisation" of William and Kate's life.
The Prince and Duchess of Cambridge apparently spend a great deal of time with Kate's parents,
Michael and Carole.
They recently holidayed in Mustique for Carole's 60th birthday.
William also raised eyebrows last Christmas when he chose to host the Middleton family
instead of having dinner with the Queen, as is customary.
An anonymous source was quoted in The Daily Mail as saying that Carole Middleton is in
full control: "Carole has rather taken over, dictating when George naps, when and what
he eats.
All in all, behaving like she's Queen Carole."
Some royal watchers feel that William may be intentionally keeping Prince George away
from the rest of the royals to avoid exposing him to the same unhappy uprbringing that he
went through.
Last month, two of William's staff members quit after just five months at his house.
It was reported that they felt that the atmosphere around Prince William and Kate Middleton is
too middle class and not befitting a royal family.
An official spokesman for Prince Charles has denied these reports, saying that "His Royal
Highness enjoys an excellent relationship with his grandson."
