Tapper: Trump Is 'Inconsistent' on Use of Anonymous Sources and 'Not a Particularly Good Judge of Them'

Over Memorial Day weekend, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to complain about the fake news media and their use of anonymous sources from the White House, claiming that much of the time he believes those sources are made up by fake news writers.

However, this morning, he ended up retweeting a story from Fox News that was based solely on one anonymous source. In response to the presidents actions, CNNs Jake Tapper pointed out Trumps inconsistency while also highlighting Trumps past history with birtherism.

After explaining the details of Trumps recent tweets and the Fox News report, the CNN anchor took a shot at the president.

The president, I think its fair to say, is not only inconsistent about the use of anonymous sources, hes not a particularly good judge of them, he noted.

Tapper continued, As the unofficial head of the birther movement which sought to argue falsely and without evidence that President Barack Obama, the first African-American president was born in Africa, citizen Trump provided this investigative journalism.

Quote, An extremely credible source has called my office and told me that Barack Obamas birth certificate is a fraud..

He went on to knock Trump for believing the birther lie is true and that it comes from a credible source, adding that all that needs to be said on this subject when it comes to President Trump criticizing what is true and what is false — consider the source.
