Is the Soul Attained or to be Sought? | Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai - Duration: 4:58.

There was a couple,

A mother, father and their son.

The son got lost.

He was young and got lost.

They went to the police station and filed a complaint.

They provided all the details including his name, identification marks,

How he got lost and so on.

The police said, "If we find him, we will call you."

The parents said, "No Sir, every week, on any one day, we will come to check."

"In between, if you find him, certainly call us,"

"But we will keep coming, to check on the progress of the investigation."

The police said, "Alright, come every Monday."

Many years went by.

The couple was alone and unhappy.

The lady wasn't enjoying doing housework.

She told her husband, "Why don't you hire a helper,"

"So he can do all the work."

"How much work can there be for two people? Nonetheless, hire a boy."

He enquired at a few places, found a boy and hired him.

In reality, this boy was their own son, who had grown older.

My first question to you; you can give me all the answers later.

When that boy came home, did the mother find her son or not?

The son is at home and is working there.

All day long, he is within her sight.

Then, comes Monday.

They tell the boy, "You continue your work, but we need to go to the police station,"

"To check on our son's investigation."

They lock him from the outside, so he does not leave or run away,

And continues to work inside.

They go to the police station to see if their son has been found.

My second question: To look for their son, should they search at home or outside?

They go there and are informed that their son has not been found.

Dejected, they return home.

They sit on the sofa and ask the boy to make them a cup of tea.

The boy makes the tea and brings it to them.

While sipping the tea, the mother's eyes well up with tears, looking at the boy.

"If our son was here, he would be exactly like him."

So, my third question:

Although the son is in front of the mother, she has not found her son. Why?

Once it so happens that they have to go somewhere early the next day,

They tell the boy to come early, finish the housework, bathe and be ready to leave.

After bathing, the boy comes out with a towel wrapped around, and goes to get dressed;

And they see a birthmark on his arm.

They realise immediately that he was their missing son.

When did the mother find her son?

Number 1: When the boy comes to the mother, sorry, I meant, when the son comes;

Regardless of what she believes, the one who has come is her son.

Yet, she has not found her son because she has not accepted that, 'This is my son.'

The answer is the same for everything.

You feel like laughing at the mother!

Imagine watching this picture, would you not feel sorry for her?

Because, she locks her son and then goes out to look for her son!

You lock your Soul and run outside to perform auspicious activities!

You run to temples and mosques; to meet whom?

The One who is already at home!

You run outside to find the One who is already at home!

You climb mountains, stay hungry, do various things, and where is He? At home!

Is this not happening?

The third statement is, "Our son..." How close he has come!

Not just has the boy come home; but, seeing him, she is reminded of her own son.

That is the extent of closeness she has.

In other words, you have started talking about the Soul.

Talking about the Soul alone!

Who is doing this?

The Soul, talking about the Soul, says, "Aha! How wondrous is the nature of the Soul!"

But 'I am like that,' is not yet realised.

As long as you say the word 'Soul', you will not attain the Soul.

I am saying this from experience.

Until you cancel the word 'Soul' and replace it with 'I', you will not experience the Soul.

'I am the Knower' not, 'The Soul is the Knower.'

'I am Pure, Intelligent Consciousness.'

Not the Soul.
