Greeting, my friends!

You are watching a new video review by Heroes For A Day!

I'm Argyris, and this time, it's not a DC, Marvel, Game of Thrones or Transformers.

It's a Castlevania figure!

Castlevania, the all-time favorite video game franchise for about 20 or 30 years.

And of course, it's the main protagonist -or antagonist, if you like- Dracula.

The figure is by NECA; it's not a new piece, to be clear. I don't know its availability.

It depicts Dracula as he appeared in 'Symphony of the Night'.

(and I don't remember when it first came out)

It's a nice, stylized figure.

Let's see it closer.

It's Dracula, with his long hair, goatee and his really awesome red and black attire.

His cape could be made of softer plastic, but it is still nice looking.

It's a beautiful, nicely detailed figure.

You can see the golden accents.

You can see the lining in his coat.

There's an issue though with the cape. The stiffer plastic makes the figure a little backheavy.

Plus, the clothes obstruct the articulation.

The leg cannot move freely because it has little space.

Same with his right arm; the left one can move better.

Yet he remains awesome looking; he is one of the first figures I ever got.

He looks magnificent, especially now that he's back in fashion

with the Castlevania revival by Adi Shankar.

The Netflix series was really good. Watch it!

And of course we look forward to the second season.

If I recall there was another edition of the figure,

where Dracula had an angrier face and an open mouth.

Among the accessories is this little stand with clear plastic

to hold some of the other accessories, like this bat.

It is placed there (no comment on the insinuation of this…)

These kinds of stands are made for accessories that are supposed to fly,

with the clear plastic serving the purpose of this 'effect'.

Another accessory is this 'eye' thing. I never really got what it is exactly,

with the chain and the pointy end.

This has also a peg hole, so it can look like it's floating.

And last, this pocket watch.

Is it supposed to go on his hand like a rosary? Whatever…

A really nice figure. Typically it's an action figure, but if it weren't limited in articulation,

it might work out better for some collectors.

For those who'd like to keep it in this pose, it'd work out fine. It's a nice design.

From the same video game entry, Alucard, the main protagonist and Dracula's son, was also produced as a figure.

And we hope to see more of him in the 2nd season of the Castlevania Netflix series.

That's When Doctor Feels A Pulse

Nothing brings us down to our knees in desperation like the need for God to move on our behalf

in a situation that is completely outside of our control.

I have found myself in that position many times, aware of my human limitations and reminded

of His boundless abilities.

It is there that my heart's cries have been heard and I have received a peace like no

other.

In January 2015, three teenage friends were playing on the frozen Lake Sainte Louise in

Missouri when the ice unexpectedly cracked and each of the young boys fell through.

The water was bitterly cold, unbearable to anyone.

Two of the three boys were able to get themselves out of the lake, but 14-year-old John Smith

could not get out and started to drown.

John's friends called for help, but he remained trapped underwater for 15 minutes while they

waited for the rescuers to arrive.

"He was completely lifeless, limp, and water was coming through his nose because he had

taken so much water in at that point.

He was starting to turn blue from being submerged for the length of time that he was," said

firefighter Tommy Shine, who was on the scene.

Every attempt to resuscitate John was unsuccessful.

The doctors worked effortlessly and did all that they could, but nothing they tried got

them a pulse.

After almost 45 minutes with no pulse, John had little to no chance of survival and the

doctors were minutes away from pronouncing him dead.

That's when John's mother, Joyce, walked into the hospital room.

In a moment of absolute uncertainty and hopelessness, Joyce turned to what she knew had proven effective

in the past: prayer.

Though nothing in the circumstance gave her any reason to think that a complete turnaround

would even be a possibility, she went to God and asked for a miracle anyway.

"I said, 'Lord, Holy Spirit, just give me back my son!'"

Joyce recalled.

Miraculously, just seconds later, John's heart began to beat again.

The doctors were speechless.

By the next day, John was giving his friends and family the thumbs-up sign.

He remained on a ventilator for eight more days, but after some much-needed recovery

time, John was healed and is fully functional today.

What we see in many parts of the world is a sudden rush for gas

Whether that's shale gas or LNG – in the EU, the US and many parts of the world

There's a recognition that coal is the 'dirty fuel' we must not use

There's a very mistaken believe that gas is somehow better than coal when it clearly is not

People are now building infrastructure for a gas future, and that needs to be stopped now

We have to stop and think before we go ahead with all the new pipelines and LNG terminals in Europe

We are locking ourselves into a high-carbon future, and we are making those decisions right now

We are going to cause a lock-in of fossil fuels for many many more years, and that's not what we need

We need to transform our energy systems away from all forms of fossil fuels including gas

The current energy system is causing climate change, is causing local impacts on the ground

And it is not delivering, because we have a serious energy access problem

People in our countries deserve energy, they deserve electricity as a human right

But we are saying that it should not come from fossil fuels and the same old export-oriented dirty energy pathways

We have to lobby very hard for a rapid shift away from fossil fuels, and that includes the so-called 'clean gas'

She Asks Teen What He Wants For Christmas.

Secret He Tells Her Leaves Her Sobbing

For most children – in this country at least – Christmas is a time of magic and wonder.

Kids start writing their letters to Santa, eyes bright as they imagine all the brightly-wrapped

presents that will be waiting for them under the tree.

With houses and shopping malls and even street lights decorated for the holidays, it's

easy to forget there are some kids whose Christmases won't be so cheery and bright.

When Rayn Boncie was 14 years old, she was placed in the foster care system.

A few months after she arrived at her home, another teen girl came to live at the same

house.

When Rayn saw her condition, she was stunned.

"She was also 14 and came in wearing clothing that would have fit a small nine-year-old,"

Rayn recalled.

"I remember seeing her change for bed and noticed reddish-purplish welts on her skin.

Her clothing had literally injured her.

"I made a silent promise to her that day, that when I grew up, I would do something

to help children like her and me."

Rayn kept that promise.

She started Things of My Very Own, Inc., an organization based in Schenectady, New York,

that helps children transition out of bad or abusive situations.

Their goal is to "bridge the gap between what social service entities were able to

provide and what children need."

This year, they decided to create tags that list the specific wishes of children in the

area.

You would expect the tags to list the year's hottest toys or even some cool new clothes,

but the things these kids wished for instead will break your heart.

"None of them list the years hottest toy," Rayn said, "instead, they list children's

innermost hopes and dreams: 'a Dad', 'new clothes so I won't get picked on' or something

as simple as 'a comb.'"

There was one wish especially that broke Rayn's heart and brought her to her knees:

"Perhaps most heart wrenching was the teen boy who asked for feminine hygiene products

for his younger sister so she wouldn't have to keep missing school."

"Every tag is connected to a child who wants to believe that someone in the world cares

about their well-being," Rayn said.

"If we can show them for one moment that someone put their needs ahead of their own,

maybe they will finally believe that what they have endured does not need to define

who they grow up to be.

"For many of these children, we are the spark of hope that lights up their otherwise

dark world.

Many individuals and businesses have already stepped up asking for tags, and for these
