The Top 3 Habits For Success - Duration: 1:22.

My top three habits for success really starts with number one: relationships.

Relationships are the currency of the future. Who are the relationships that I

need to have that allow me to be better?

But it's not just showing up with hat in hand thinking about

what you can get from those relationships, but it's really about

what you can give to those relationships.

Second thing is results. Performance is the price of freedom.

So many people want success, but they don't put the work ethic in place

to get the results.

So you've got to think about everything comes down to

what are the results that you have produced? Because the results say

that you have the performance, and that opens up the door for everything else.

And then finally, I think the third most important habit

is the power of being real with yourself. If something

is not working, say it's not working and move on.

And it's that reality check that I think keeps your feet on the ground,

keeps you authentic, keeps you self-aware and moves

you toward sustained success.

Controlling multiple LEDs with a For Loop - Duration: 19:40.

Today we're going to build a simple circuit with some flashing LEDs powered

by a For loop through Arduino coding. This is what you will need: a breadboard

Arduino Uno 5 x 150 watt resistors 5 colored LEDs, we'll be using a white a

red yellow blue and a green and some jumper cables.

Ok let's get started.

First we'll start off by placing the LEDs, green one first,

the long leg of the LED is the anode which goes to the positive side and the cathode

is the negative. We'll place that in the breadboard there, next is the blue LED,

straighten the legs a bit, I'll put him there then the yellow, the long leg to the

left as usual with the other ones, then the red LED goes there and the white LED

we will put there. So that's all our LEDs now.

Now we'll connect up the

resistors. We will be powering the LEDs with 5 volts through the Arduino so our

resistors are 150 ohms each. The first one in there the second one to the blue goes there,

then the yellow.

The resistor to the red with the cathode leg of the red LED and then resistor to the

white LED.

Now we will join both the cathode rails on our breadboard with a jumper

then we'll connect each of the resistors to the cathode rail with a small jumper.

Each one goes over and into there.

The yellow and the red and finally the white.

Now we'll just check with a pair of tweezers to make sure that all the legs are

properly centered right in the tie points.

Now we'll connect the ground from

Arduino to the ground rail there.

Now the white LED will be running through

pin 8 on the Arduino we'll connect that

there, the red LED will be running on pin 9,

connected to the long leg of the red LED, the yellow will be running on pin ten,

goes to there, the blue will be running on pin 11 to that leg there and the green

will be running on pin 12.

Right that' our setup.

Right let's start writing some code. We'll start off by defining our lead

pins with integer whiteLEDPin and that's going to Arduino pin eight.

We will do whiteOnTime which we will set at 500 milliseconds then another integer

writeOffTime and set that at 500 milliseconds also.

Now we're going to set

up for the red LED, redLEDPin that's being attached to pin nine, we need redOnTime

we'll set that at 500 milliseconds also and another integer

redOffTime which we're also set up at seconds 500 milliseconds.

Now the yellow

pin, yellowLEDPin which is being attached the pin number ten, yellowOnTime

we'll set that at 500 milliseconds also and yellowOffTime 500

milliseconds.

Now for the blue, blueLEDPin it's going to pin 11 on the Arduino , blueOnTime long

500 milliseconds, blueOffTime also 500 milliseconds.

Now for the

green pin, greenLEDPin going to 12.

GreenOnTime, we might make that 250 milliseconds, greenOffTime also make

that 250 milliseconds.

We might go and change the blue just to mix it up a

little bit or make the blueOnTime 900 and the blueOffTime 100.

Now we are also going

to need to record the number of blinks each LED, so you're put int

numWhiteBlink and we'll set that to two initially, and then int numRedBlink set

that to three, oops missed a space there, and numYellowBlink we will make that four,

int numBlueBlink and set that five,int

numGreenBlink equals six semicolon to finish it.

Now to Void Setup we put

our pinModes in here.

pinMode whiteLEDPin

and give it an output.

pinMode the redLEDPin is also an output, pinMode for

the yellowLEDPin , pinMode blueLEDPin

greenLEDPin, output, and remove that and that.

Right

now down to the Void Loop now we're using a For loop here so for we define

the integer J equals one, colon, if J is less than or equal to

numWhiteBlink then J equals J plus plus.

That J

there can be written as J equal J plus 1 or J equals J plus plus the integer

increments by 1 with either of those pieces of code.

Now digitalWrite the

whiteLEDPin LED pin we want to turn it on so write it HIGH then we add our

delay whiteOnTime, then we want to turn the pin off, digitalWrite whiteLEDPin

we set it to LOW then add the delay again whiteOffTime and we're going to

close that curly bracket.

Normally we would hard code the rest of

that statements but to save time we will just copy and paste

and then change them around.

So the next one will be red the redOnTime redOnTime

redLEDPin and the redOffTime.

Copy it again, the

yellowLEDPin and the yellowOffTime.

Once again for the blue, blueLEDPin,

blueOnTime and blue LED and the blueOffTime.

Final one the green, LED,

greenOnTime, greenOffTime.

Right we'll save that now we'll verify it to

make sure our code correct.

Compiling the sketch

Go back and check the yellowLEDPin in pinMode yellow oh

there we go, upper case oh it should be lower case,

lower case.

Save that.

Right we'll verify our code again, should be right this time.

Compiling the sketch it's all green, done compiling great.

Now we'll check our port,

Now we will download the code to the Arduino and it's now done

uploading.

Ok the white LED will blink twice, the red LED will blink three times,

the yellow will blink four times, the blue will blink five times and the green

will blink six times
