Brittany Wagner, Last Chance U: Where Is She Now in 2018? | Heavy.com

Former Last Chance U star Brittany Wagner started her own consulting company.

Brittany Wagner won over fans as the EMCC academic adviser featured on the first two seasons of Last Chance U.

Not only did Netflix head to a different school for this season, Wagner also left Scooba after Season 2.

According to Al.com, Wagner moved to Birmingham in 2017, and took a job with the restaurant chain Newk's as a catering sales and marketing director.

Wagner announced the move in a statement on Twitter.

This has been a very tough decision to make, but I have decided to leave East Mississippi Community College and my home here in Mississippi to pursue another career opportunity.

For 8 years I have been where I felt I needed to be.

But the time has come for a life change.

I will forever be better for having worked with the student-athletes of EMCC.

I am beyond grateful for that opportunity.

I consistently ask athletes to let go of the fears in life and go for it- and now I am reminding myself to do the same.

It is Kennedy and my time to soar.

We are so excited for our new adventures.

And yes, we have our Pencils!.

While Wagner made the move, it did not take her long to move back into a new role with student-athletes.

Netflix caught up with Wagner on the last episode of Season 3 to show what her life is like today.

Wagner and her daughter, Kennedy, are still in Birmingham, but Wagner is now focused on her own company.

Wagner started her own consulting company called 10 Thousand Pencils where she works with both students and schools to provide programs that help their students succeed.

Here's how her site describes some of what she focuses on in this new role.

10KP works directly with your school/program over a 5 or 10 month period.

Brittany Wagner engages with selected at-risk student-athletes; acting as a student-athlete manager for this select group.

She manages various aspects of these student-athletes lives including academic success and life skills – working to change their mindset regarding academics, improve their chances of maintaining academic eligibility and increase their willingness to accept personal responsibility and make successful decisions.

(For universities considering this option, compliance departments will need to be consulted).

Additionally, A mortgage adviser recognized Wagner's voice over the phone, and the two began dating.

Wagner is leaning on her experience at EMCC to help students all over the country, and admitted on the final episode of Last Chance U that she felt it was time to move on.

She spoke of going back to EMCC for a football game, but told the show the school had a different feel than it did when she worked there.

Wagner noted she did not plan on returning to any other EMCC events.

Wagner also started her own podcast in 2018 called "Sharpen Up." The show is a mix of taking listener questions, interviews (including former EMCC players) and Wagner discussing a number of topics.

Here's a portion of the iTunes description of "Sharpen Up.".

Renowned academic counselor and "Last Chance U" star Brittany Wagner hosts Sharpen Up, a podcast that inspires, energizes and educates.

If you don't know this southern, single mom yet – then hold on – she's the wise mentor, helpful advisor, and judgement-free friend we all need…Sharpen Up brings Ms.

Wagner's office to you.

Brittany will share what's on her mind – from current events to college sports to her own personal struggles – even dating! Sometimes funny, sometimes emotional, and always thoughtful, Sharpen Up is for anyone who wants to get motivated and inspired with a few laughs along the way.

Just make sure you have a pencil.

Back at EMCC, Wagner's old office has been turned into a classroom, and the new academic adviser was inspired to seek out the role at EMCC after watching Last Chance U.

Glenn 'Kane' Jacobs' long-term wife Crystal Goins is the new first lady of Knox County, Tennessee.

Jacobs first announced his intention run for mayor of the county in March 2017.

Jacobs ran as a Republican.

In May 2018, Jacobs one the Republican primary by 23 votes and on August 2, Jacobs won the mayoral seat in the town.

In doing so, Jacobs scored over two thirds of the vote.

The libertarian is seeking to keep taxes low in the county as well as to improve infrastructure and roads.

The county mayor earns $170,000 per year with a staff of 1,000 people and a budget of $750 million.

Jacobs and Goins were married on August 23, 1995.

They have two daughters together.

In addition to Jacobs' WWE and GOP commitments, he runs an Allstate insurance agency along with his wife in Knoxville.

Goins and Jacobs were featured by Realtor.com when they were selling their estate in Johnson City, Tennessee.

The piece says that Jacobs first came to Tennessee in 1995 while wrestling in Knoxville.

It was there that he met and married Goins.

When asked why they were selling their $800,000 listed mansion, Jacobs said it was the couple's hour commute to Knoxville for the insurance business which was proving to be too much.

Jacobs said, "If circumstances were different, we'd stay here for the rest of our lives.

But you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men.".

According to Goins' Facebook page, she is also the owner of EXIT Key Realty in Knoxville as well as being the president of her husband's non-profit charity, Kane's Crusaders.

An event hosted by the organization for the East Tennessee Children's Hospital was covered by WATE.

The event was titled, One Unforgettable Night.

Jacobs told the station, "For maybe one night a year, just forget about all the stuff going on.

Forget about their illness, the things that they've been through.

some of these children have been through so horrible horrible things.".

When reporting on Jacobs' political ambitions, the former WWE Champion told WGRZ about his love of East Tennessee saying, "I could live anywhere, but the reason I live in Knoxville is that I love it here – I love East Tennessee.

I love the people.

I think they have great values and I think they have common sense.

And for me, the political philosophy should reflect that – to keep Knox County a great place to live and a great place to raise a family.".

The couple's daughters, Arista and Devan, are both registered nurses and are married, Goins says on her Facebook page.

Goins writes that she has "two beautiful grandchildren which is probably the only reward for aging besides wisdom." The couple's daughter, Devan, wrote a touching post about her father's electoral victory on Facebook writing in part, "What many people do not know is how determined and passionate my dad is about this county, this country, and the state this country finds itself in at this time." The post adds, " He is a man who goes to the hospital frequently just to cheer up kids that may not ever go back home.

He and my mother started the Kindness revolution that acknowledged and rewarded people who were doing random acts of kindness.".

On her LinkedIn page, Goins writes that she once worked as a counsellor at East Tennessee State University between January 2007 and November 2013.

East Tennessee State is Goins' alma-mater having attended the school between 1995 and 2002 where she graduated with a Master's in Psychology.

The couple writes on the official website for the Jacobs Agency, "We are committed to help protect you and your family from life's uncertainties.

Not only do we offer a full line of quality insurance products–auto, home, motorcycle, RV, boat, life , and commercial insurance, as well as retirement planning, and even pets–we don't sell you a policy and then forget about you.

When you need us, we'll be there." Among Goins' listed favorite quotes on her Facebook page is, "I know the Lord will not give me more than I can handle, I just wish he did not trust me so much.".
